This is a simple and cozy pub. It was pretty quiet when we arrived on Thursday afternoon. They have a generous happy hour deal on draft beers - $3 off. The IPA I had was delicious. The nachos were very good. It seemed that the staff was familiar with a lot of the patrons. The food looked and smelled very appetizing. They have a lot of TVs around. I would definitely come back here.

Ive been living in this neighborhood and was a fan of this bar for 7 years. I would usually visit 2-3 times per week. It was a relaxed, friendly atmosphere among customers, really good food, great drinks, best bartenders, no frills hangout. Not anymore. The new owners removed some items from the menu and the remaining items are mostly overly fried, greasy and nasty when served. The bartenders pour the weakest drinks and are not capable of efficiently handling the customers. No one cares about trivia night, immature games, or loud BS that interfere with neighborhood people gathering to have a good time so please stop implementing this childish nonsense. Its not a frat house. Actually, its turning into one now. In the summer, there is no air conditioning and they dont have fans or open the windows. These owners need a reality check..stop trying to fluff the place up. It worked wonderfully before so if its not broke, dont fix it. Youve already failed miserably

The Bravest is a bar, and non - gastronomic pub restaurant dedicated to those that serve as NY Fire Department, and other public service jobs. It seems to have a familiar staff that knows its customers. We went on Won Ton Wednesday by chance to enjoy a $5 bowl of soup (which was actually $7 for won ton shrimp - price needs to be updated from the sign outside), and service was friendly, quick, and kind, despite our very small order. The atmosphere was nice with large TVs broadcasting sports shows. I would recommend. $$ out of $$$$$

We had a great time with our friends celebrating birthday. The atmosphere felt great and chill where you can enjoy conversation with friends, even other customers, and the bartenders. A big shout out to (James) the bartender for awesome service. The food was fresh and crispy. The only drawback is the bathroom’s size which is very small to fit a person and keep the door closed.

I liked this place and will come back for sure, even though food took a while to arrive. The fried cauliflower was delicious but my rice bowl, not so much... i will come back to try others things though. The burgers my friends had looked great. Perhaps I chose the wrong thing on the menu. Friendly staff!

After a long work week, my coworker & I decided to come here for drinks and light bites. Ive been here over a dozen times and always had a good experience except for last night. Our waitress Mia wasnt welcoming at all, had an objection to almost everything that I requested, didnt give us any napkins or utensils with our food, and charged both of our cards for the tip when only my friend paid the tip. The whole experience was uncomfortable and frustrating. Im never going back and its due to her (Mias) service alone unfortunately. (FYI, in the details it says that happy hour is all day however it ends at 7 p.m.)

I have come here before to meet a friend in the city for a drink, and recently had a full meal with my long term partner.We stayed for a while as we had just finished a long day. The labatt canadian pilsener was wonderful. The food is fancier than expected, always with an interesting twist whether the breading on the chicken or the type of sauce. Outdoor seating is nice. Make sure to grab some napkins inside before diving in.

Awesome place with a great selection of brews on tap in cans. Super force fly staff who are always willing to recommend a new beer or a beer that follows your initial order perfectly. Awesome location that’s super cool and a great place to grab a drink and a snack.

Ive been meaning to come here for its famous burgers and sandwiches, until I finally was bale to come after a long night out. The space is really cute, like an old-fashioned sports dive bar that is well kept, cleaned & put together. With tons of TV with all the sports you may be interested in. Music is not too loud & good service. The digital menu did not have all the burger choices, but the waiter provided us with the standard menu, which did have 4 or 5 options. The burgers were really good. Meat felt like needed some seasoning, but the overall bite was full in flavor. Also had the boneless chicken wings, BBQ, so yummy and crunchy. The waiter was very helpful with choosing a beer and nailed it. Def would like to come here for another hangover 🙃. And Def recommended whatever ypu live in the area or not. Cheers to the bravest.

A local pointed me towards this bar as I walked around mid town looking for a place to have a drink on a Saturday night and it ended up as one of the best places in the city I’ve ever been. This isn’t a tourist spot, this is where the locals go. Bar staff were friendly, locals were friendly, and there was even live music which really tied the night together. I will definitely be back, and would recommend you check it out too.

Very good bar, the beers are great and the hamburger is very tasty.

Unfortunately, they could not play The Social Network (2010) on their TVs, yet despite these minor shortcomings the staff is top notch and the drinks are absolutely unrivaled. This is a must visit for anyone hoping to get the most out of a trip to the city.

In general, I like Bravest. That being said, if you’re going there for happy hour make sure you order *at least* 20 minutes before happy hour ends. We ordered a round of beers 15 minutes before the end of happy hour & got charged full price. It’s not the biggest deal ($8 per beer vs $5 per beer), but definitely something customers should keep in mind if they’re going there for happy hour.

Used to LOVE Bravest. Always friendly, welcoming, a retro feel. Now New menu, bad music, zero interaction by staff, bare bones to say the least. Charm gone, saddened to see the heart of Bravest is too. PS. Hot dogs are off the menu.

Really nice place with a cosy atmosphere. Food was great. Had burgers and wings. Kids Friendly and nice staff. Shout out to Mia who served us nicely.

Sometimes you just need that ice cold beer and a hot dog i have been coming to this place for a while now and the food and service is always good definitely recommend

This place has gone extremely downhill in the last year. I dont know if its new ownership or management, but they changed their menu and got rid of every good dish. Everything is quite bad now. They also never have the option to pick up anymore, and every time I try to give this palce another chance, something else goes wrong. In short, bravest sucks. Dont give these people your money.

Been coming to the Bravest for over a decade. Divey firemans bar with well priced drinks and great pub fare! Cant go wrong with a beer and a game or a bite to eat with your partner. Its super casual... Staff is friendly.Wings are good, Burgers are really good.

Fantastic bar, love coming here for a nice burger and a few beers. Staff is quite amiable, food and drinks decently priced (and quite a selection too) and its a nice low-key ambiance, great for a friends night out.

The only bartender there was too busy chatting up customers to actually serve the rest of the customers 🤣🤣🤣

Great staff, very friendly and serviceable. Great atmosphere, not too loud and not too quiet. Food is very good (try the burrito). Short but nice beer selection. Not pricey. Only problem is going in groups after 1 pm for lunch or after 6 pm: theres no room and you cannot make reservations.

We came here for happy hour and a quick bite to eat. I wasn’t impressed by the chicken tenders and fries. The server wasn’t very personable. The drinks were okay.

Fantastic food, welcoming atmosphere! My wife and I were walking the streets around our hotel when we happened upon Bravest. The minute we walked in, with our southern accents we were obviously tourists, we were greeted and welcomed so warmly! I had the Cajun Burger with fries and it was awesome! We enjoyed it so much that we ate there twice before we left NYC! Both visits our servers were so friendly and helpful. They were glad to answer our questions and make recommendations for seeing the city. When we get back to Manhattan well definitely go back to Bravest!

Great service, great prices, friendly and relaxing atmosphere

Great feel about the bar and the food was fantastic. The waiter was stretched as she was the only person serving the whole place. Unfortunately this meant she was slow to serve drinks and I had to at one stage go to the bar to get drinks for the table. Which she seemed not to like very much. The place had a good vibe and if the service was more attentive and the waiter had more knowledge about the menu, drinks prices and specials, we would have stuck around and drank more.

Great Food!! Fried zucchini was perfect! Chocolate pecan pie was to die for. Atmosphere was comfortable and busy all at the same time. This wad our third visit and I cant wait for the next. 👍

I love this place so much. They hire firemen to serve you. Work in the back in the kitchen. They are friendly the food is actually very good the prices are very low for what youre getting. Not much to look like inside kind of dark but for the value of the food and the fact that youre supporting first responders this is the place you definitely should go to

I wish there was a way to be able to completely ignore anybody who says the wings here are good. They are not. The chickens that these wings came from were anemic. Tiny. Malnourished. Sad. Some of the smallest, crappiest wings Ive ever had.And lets go on to the nachos. I love nachos. But nachos shouldnt be a plate of circular, overly salty corn tortilla chips, with a layer of hardened cheese over the top, and two little plastic cups on the side.The fried food was fine, as its *really* hard to screw up mozzarella sticks unless youre trying. My wrap was adequate, but when I ask for the fries to be crispy, I mean it.The saving grace is that this place has some decent beer specials. Thats it. Dont expect anything more.

This bar is awesome!! Bartenders are very attentive, friendly and if youre looking to grab a bite to eat the food is good as well. I would absolutely recommend this place for drinks and food.

Great place, not too big. Would go back again. Madi was exceptional. The fried pickles were fantastic as were the mozzarella sticks, although the marinara sauce was not very good. The Cajun Brave Burger was good but not very cajun. The Chicken Cesar Wrap was very flavorful.

For a local watering hole, Bravest has a nice cozy vibe, good food and drink specials and an awesome staff. Theres always a solid crowd here just about any day of the week (reminds me of Keats to that regard), plenty of TVs to watch the games, and there are lots of places to sit if youre not interested in crowding the bar. I have yet to eat here but the menu and advertised specials sound good in print!

What a fantastic place. We were here for a 5 day mini-break and this was out last night. We wanted somewhere that we considered American and that would cap our trip off, and saw this pop up on Google maps. Tied into our deeply moving trip to the 9/11 museum yesterday, and with the description we saw on Google, this was the place for us - we were not disappointed.Great juicy burgers, yummy fries and salad and happy hour beverages. Great food and atmosphere. A bar honoring the firefighters. We met Wanda, the owner. A very sweet lady. Definitely a place to come back to when we visit NYC again.

Really liked this place. Felt like a neighborhood bar. Was there for happy hour, so had three pints which was good value.Go for the hottest wing sauce as original wasnt hot at all. Fried pickles were great, and the fries were good too.

This is my local bar. Anyone can saddle up to the bar and have a great time. They have a full service menu and food is okay, but drinks and atmosphere is where its at.

This is a GREAT bar!! me and my buddy stopped in here during Fleet Week 11 and had a great time. The food and drink were top notch and Tommy treated us like kings.

I was staying nearby for a conference and this place was perfect if youre in the area.Great drinks selection and good food, all in decent prices too! A good place to wind down and kick back after a hard day.

My 2nd time here. Wings are delicious!!! Service by owner was HORRIBLE! He did not wait on us but trying to have conversation with him was dreadful!!! He told my sister she was f#$%&@! things up by talking to him while he was at the register. ????? Great place.... too bad to see such poor treatment. Will unfortunately skip visiting next time.

Ultimate casual bar in midtown. You can avoid the suits here and always catch a game on the many TVs. Food is awesome for a bar and happy hour is 4-7 on weeknights and among the best in the city including $3 off draft beers and $9 boneless wings

9/15/24. Recently the Bravest was sold and they lost all front of house staff that were there previously. The new staff are a step down to say the least. The food hasn’t been as good either so I imagine some of the cooking staff has left. I hope they figure it out but it’s been rough the last few visitsFirst review : Love this place. Great beer list and solid cocktails as well. I prefer sitting at the bar and no matter where you sit you have at least the view of 2 TVs. They have a killer happy hour 3-7 M-F I believe with cheaper beers and deals on food. I love the wraps and sandwiches, they also have very solid salads..

Place was nice. Staff was nice. Service was slow at best. They asked us to order 10 seconds after we sat down and then didn’t come back till we flagged them. Whatever, happens. Biggest disappointment was the food. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. Zero flavor let alone spice. Chicken on it did not taste good. Fried pickles no flavor.

I really like their food. And I’m sure it’s a cute fun bar spot at night, but please don’t advertise being open for lunch if you are not consistently open at noon!! I ran there today at 12:30 during my lunch break and the door was locked, lights were off and chairs were up. I had to rush and find somewhere else to go.Another time I tried to go at 12pm and they didn’t have a cook.

Divey style bar with elevated high quality food. The buffalo hummus was delicious would def recommend. The hibiscus mint cocktail was also super refreshing and not too sweet. Perfect experience for me tbh

The bravest commemorates the FDNY. Words cant describe what blind bravery is without asking New York Citys own. Come raise a glass. Disconnect your ebikes and laptops power strips. And order the grilled cheese on white bread with bacon. Best grilled cheese in town. Only the best at the bravest.

Met up with my daughter and friends to watch the Buffalo Bills beat the NY Jets. Had a great time at this Bills backing bar. Great food great friends great game. Great attentive service. What else could you ask for.

On 10/29 spent $81.53 and got horrible food poisoning. Only place I ate that day and sandwich tasted iffy.

Waiting forever for so called food. Two waitresses talking to each other ignoring us on purpose,totally made us feel unwelcome. Had to ask for water for my 5 year old baby, they just wanted to sell beer. Oh finally the food came and it was the wrong order. Food was bad, no soul on the chef side. The music was loud pop punk losers from early 00’s, what can I say a total win win for the fire department. A lot of FDNY paraphernalia on the walls, that should have been the sign. It was a rainy day and we were hoping that this would be a local gem. Lemme tell ya; what a waste of f@k€# time. Never again.

It’s an amazing place to go eat lunch or dinner with friends or family. I always eat the Firehouse burger which is my favorite and I recommend it to everyone.

If words could explain it all,I would have but you need to visit to experience it yourself.

Food is good. Staff could be a little more friendly from top to bottom. Owner seems to be in bad mood all the time. Be careful with prices. I ordered burger for PICK UP, their Google menu says cheeseburger costs $7.50 but when you order online is costs $11.50! Remember this was not a delivery order, just pick up. The sweet potato fries also has a different price. On top of that you have to leave a tip which I dont mind but the increase of their prices online a $20 order including tip became a $35 order.

The staff and atmosphere makes this a great place to talk away the evening!

Stopped by for lunch, Midday Barkeep had a horrible attitude ... aloof and focused on eating his lunch as opposed to giving great service , would never go their again! Refused me a menu, said everything I ask for was available so I left..

Popped in for some drinks in the rain. The staff is friendly. The cocktails were good, and the beer menu was pretty extensive as craft beer goes. I didnt try any food, but a great watering hole.

Firefighter bar with the best burgers in Manhattan and phenomenal rotating craft beer selection. Extremely reasonably priced, particularly in light of the high quality burgers. My favorite is the Cajun Burger with a pretzel bun. The Crack Sandwich is a great take on the chicken salad sandwich. Ive been happy and satisfied every time I go here. Not a single complaint about the food, the decor, or the staff.

Disappointed on the cobb salad I came over all the way from throggs neck an hour and a half travel to get this cobb salad I was eating last year I work at a near by hospital and ate thus all the time the best!. But now very disappointed the ingredients are cut short they dont add the crumble blue cheese and the pickled onions anymore. The salad is dry and the give you blue cheese on the side. Fell off get your game back!!!

Waited almost an hr for a chicken sandwich, a GorditaCrunch and tots. Asked for more cream sauce for the crunch since the little that was there was atop sad pink tomato chunks. Was informed there was no more. Very little taco meat on it. Tots FINALLY arrived after we finished. The best bar in the city. The food is amazing and the bartenders are fantastic. Very reasonably priced.

For what it is, its great...a neighborhood pub with good grub, cold beer and friendly service (another reviewer says the bartenders can be gruff - in a good way but I sit in the restaurant section and the waitresses are all very nice). When its busy, its also VERY noisy.

Cheap happy hour and nice staff. The crowd this bar attracts is the negative here. Creepiest guy in the world harassed me and then kept staring at me from behind a pole for two hours. Wont be back for air.

$2 Buds all day everyday. Great neighborhood place to have a few beers and watch March Madness. Also, Rick Pitino always stops here when he is in town so you know its good.

It was food!! The food was edible! The waitress was a good one. I ordered buffalo wings and nachos. Lackluster!! You have to be drunk and starving to eat here.
