Real down to earth, local bar, great interior, crowd and vibe. So sad our bartender smelled terribly like sweat, even from 6 feet away, the smell was unbearable.
The best place to get a beer. The staff is amazing, atmosphere is great. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Love this bar and the people.
There is NO place in the world like The Ear Inn. It is always welcoming & is a local to many - from those round the block to visitors from across the world. Fantastic affordable yummy food, excellent jovial staff. Martin Gary and all are unique and a big slice of New York history. Enjoy!!
An experience unto itself. GREAT food. Kind of brief waitstaff. Beer excellent.
Such a cute cozy place! Jazz is 8pm every Sunday!
Amazing vibes!!! It gets crowded easily but the waitresses are very attentive. My friend and I had a great time. We both had burgers and very juicy. Definitely will come back again.
Great bar in Brooklyn. Met a friend here who worked there for several years. When she first arrived in NYC. Some of her experiences of that Bill Murray, U2 and keaune reeves had all visited added to the experience
Amazing life music spot, very cozy, warm and such good vibration. Lovey it dearly. If you’re a jazz musician they be opening the concert to a jam session! Old school very well played.
A very, very old structure by NYC standards (1817; be sure to read the James Brown House historic landmark plaque if you like history). Walked here from Pier 26 Downtown Boathouse on a cold damp November day with paddling friends. We had just paddled to and circumnavigated Ellis Island and stopped on our way back for drinks and grub. We sat outside despite the cold and had a hot toddy, hot cider w/whisky and I thoroughly enjoyed a chicken pot pie, which was delicious and hit the spot---especially after hours on the water on top of a paddle board. The Gent waiting on us had the appearance of possibly being the owner or manager and showed a lot of interest in what we had been doing. Looking forward to returning.
Historic AND delicious food?!? YES! We had a delightful time at the Ear Inn - our waitress was amazing! Great drinks, great atmosphere. The place is small, and it does get crowded. We sat in the back room, which was empty when we arrived (2pm) and packed by the time we left. We loved it. Up front, by the bar, the England vs Spain Copa game was on, the place was lively!
Authentic Dive Bar. Great place to grab a beer, watch a game, or enjoy some talented musicians. This bar is a time warp with great food, great service, and cold drinks. Is it haunted? Maybe. But even the ghosts here are fun to hang out with.________________✅Weight loss specialist.⭐Use This Weight Loss Hack And You Will Almost Always Lose Weight!Instagram👉 @slims_pro
A perfect neighborhood bar. I love the mix for old and new New Yorkers. Friendly staff, great food. Try the dumplings and you’ll become an instant regular.
Nice ambience (crowded, noisy and like a real pub :)) , good beer, lovely staff
Old ass bar with a nice pour, skinny bathrooms if u must.
Old school gem..one of the oldest in NY.. assertive in a nice way waiter - told us exactly what we wanted:D ..the dumplings l, pot pie and chowder were great and the vibe was fantastic
Although it was not technically the best burger I’ve ever had, it had great flavor and was well made. The price was great especially for New York City; I bought a burger with a side of potatoes for around $10. The staff was also friendly and attentive. If I were in the neighborhood again I would definitely go back!
Great place! I had the lamb burger, it wa the best burger i have ever had a 10!Staff was super friendly. Great vibe.I highly recommend a visit to the Ear Inn.I will be back..many times
Great old place to grab a cold beer on a hot day. Friendly bartenders and regular patrons. Lots of artifacts and stuff to look at. Live music.BAR sign changed to EAR by blacking out part of the B.
Amazing athosphere
The history of this bar begins with James Brown, an aide to George Washington and supposedly featured in the famous painting The Crossing of the Delaware. Its one of the oldest bars in Manhattan. The inside looks old and unremarkable, but not historical in the sense that other current owners of old taverns have preserved the integrity of their properties. I found the bartender attentive, but the waitress with short brown hair quite rude and unfriendly, and when we asked for seats and were contemplating eating, we were never approached for our food order again or given menus. So we quietly finished our beers and left...never to return.
I love this joint. Great place to spend an evening getting drunk with friends and making new friends.
👍👍👍 Had late night drink here last night. Great atmosphere drinks and service. Loved it
A nice and pleasant place. Delicious food. And you can also draw while waiting for your order.
Fabulous spot 👌, great atmosphere, excellent food and service
What a cozy little spot. Had a jolly few hours here today. Tasty little negroni and my friend had a spiced margarita. Both blended well and refills soon followed. The steamed dumplings were fresh, hot and mega tasty.Lovely friendly staff and patrons alike - such a great vibe!
Super cool and cozy divey kinda place with some history and charm. Food was yummy, bartender was great but blanking on his name! Gets pretty crowded... Went with some girlfriends... had a nice night.
Love this place! Come here often as it is close to my job and the people here are great. Small but perfect also a landmark! If you are a RENT fan you must visit.
Funky Irish landmark bar. Good, inexpensive food ($49 for 2 before tip), friendly atmosphere, great for beer drinkers, not so much for wine, but its ok. Sometimes they have music. Love this place.
Bar man was incredibly rude. You work in the service industry dude, the expectation is you are good with people and slightly hospitable. Will not return
This is my current Manhattan favorite. The atmosphere, clientele, food, and employees are all top notch. I cant stop thinking about their spicy garlic shrimp.
Love this place! Its cheap and cheerful, always a tight fit but the staff is cool and youll always have a good time.
Great spot with good cocktails, beer, and food. Simple and fun. Doesn’t fit in with the neighborhood in the best possible way. Mainly because it’s so historic and has kept that charm. Love it
Had to wait a while for drinks, and food wasnt great. However the atmosphere more than made up for it, and Ill be sure to be back just for drinks.
Great drink and a few more on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Great staff and an amazing place full of history and nostalgia. Highly recommend the Ear Inn and one of these MUST places to visit.
The drink (Expresso Martini was delicious. The food (pot pie) absolutely scrumptious. The service excellent
This is a great place with a bit of history. The drinks were good, and their menu is shot and precise. We went there around 9 p.m., where the crowd was spilling outside. But we were called back in within 10 min as tables cleared. The drinks were good, the wings were great. The burgers were ok.
The beers are secondary. Go here for the eclecticism, the history and the local, chill vibe. Be warned: the music is turned up loud.
New York classic. The dumplings are weirdly good. Burger was good. BLT wrap special was a little light on B & T.
Easily my favourite bar in New York.
Liked it so much we went there 4 nights in a row.
The best Guinness in NYC. Don’t fall for other more touristy Irish bars. This was hands down the best in town. The place was hiving and we had a lot of craic with some of the regulars on our honeymoon.
Theres a great bar in the neighborhood with a daily menu of specials and a good selection of draft beers. I would definitely come back for the food.
Kind staff in this smallish pub with good atmosphere and trinkets up on the walls. Will return.
Hidden away at the side of the city this bar is a real treasure. As far as I know its the oldest bar in NYC and it certainly feels that way. The prices are good and the atmosphere is nice. Another great chilled out wee bar. We only had drink but the food smelt delicious to!They even do T Shirts!
Great local bar, crowd Friday 700pm but we were able to get seated while having drinks. Cost for beers and Dinner 2 people very responsible. Nice historical location as one of the oldest bars in the city.
Don’t go!!! Rude staff here. I came in on a Wednesday night and the bald bartender was rude and arrogant. I sat down at the bar and he seemed like he didn’t want to take my order. I decided to pay with cash and after he gave me my change I decided to count the money. He seemed annoyed at this, watching me the entire time. Does he expect me to trust a complete stranger with my money??? I expected to sit at the bar and order something else later, so I put my cash away. He was watching the entire time and said “wow no tip”. I was going to tip before leaving, but after that of course not. Bartender seemed so entitled and rude.Oh and I don’t want to forget the place smelled like straight BO.
If I’m downtown, I’m eating at Ear Inn. The fried dumplings with Colman’s mustard would be my order if I was on death row. They have Raderberger on tap and a great and courteous team that works here. I’ve never had a bad interaction or a bad meal. The spicy garlic shrimp is also insanely good.I know social media has recently made this place a must stop, but it was awesome before the internet.
Outstanding local historical and neighborhood feel. I had not been there in years but coming back again rekindled all the great memories. The place has a lot of character.
I recently visited Ear Inn in NYC with a couple of friends, and it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment we were seated, we were placed near a table that was loud, rowdy, and disruptive. Despite the chaotic atmosphere around us, we were the ones who were scolded for raising our voices, while the other tables remained unchecked. The lack of consistency in the staffs handling of the situation made us feel unfairly persecuted. Frustrated by the poor service and uncomfortable environment, we decided to leave early. Its a shame because the bar has a great location and potential, but the service was a major letdown.
The closest to real pub culture Ive found in the city. A neighborhood bar to beat all others. Go in. Act right. Have fun. Make friends.
A great home style burger- A New York classic with amazing atmosphere. Love perusing the nautical wall art. Great for a quick drink or a nice dinner.
Nothing fancy and no exotic beers on tap but it is a great little dive bar that’s still worth a visit for the history alone. The guys behind the bar are a friendly crew and will keep your pint full. And the food isn’t bad either - I had the garlic shrimp as a starter and a burger and both were solid. I’d go back if I were in the area.
Very helpful staff, they gave a phone charger . Thinking to order buffalo chicken at 1 am, while on a diet. This Chicken looks really good …
This place is incredible. Even the salad with shrimp was otherworldly. When I come back to NYC Im looking forward to coming back!
Great place to visit while in New York for a bite to eat and a cold beer.
Worth a curiosity visit. Only had one drink there which is very unlike me. Staff seemed a bit to cool for school or just grumpy and/or tired. I’ll try again though.
Cheeseburger was just OK and overpriced at $17. Chicken Cobb salad was average.I don’t recommend the food since it’s just average and too pricey.Otherwise it’s an interesting bar that’s been around for about 200 years, and if you just want to drink and listen to classic rock/jam bands this may be your place.
A piece of history on every corner of that building. Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service and tasty food. Decent selection of beers and bar food. Burger was delicious, very unique. Its a NYC must visit.
We came here with a large group and there was a broken apart clarinet on an unoccupied table. We were thinking it was bar decor because after standing around it for 2-3 minutes, no one said anything, but then one of my friends picked it up, and a person at the table next to it had a melt down, stating it was a musical instrument and not a toy. At no point was any damage done to the instrument, and we were apologetic, but that was not enough and he wouldnt calm down and made a huge scene. This would not have been an issue had the owner, acting as a bouncer not come in screaming that the other man was wrong and we were wrong, as though touching something on an unoccupied table in an empty bar is a crime. The owner had no idea what happened and was yelling at me even though I wasnt even the person who touched it because he never took the time to understand what had happened. I am someone who is very justice oriented and it was completely irrational behavior. Will never come back and dont recommend.
Very old with a great history. Very eclectic lots of memorabilia. Staff very friendly didnt have food but plenty of people did. Warning no talking in phones youll get told to go outside but thats fine. A must for at least one beer with the locals.
Great music, intimate atmosphere, and good food.Great combination.
Great old school classy feel establishment, great music. But, the rating is lacking because when it time to settle the tab, the bar tender dropped the ball.
Unique bar with friendly staff and good food.Great place to kick back, relax and start up conversation with a stranger.Pro Tips:-No calls in the bar, if you want to talk go outside.- Don’t even try to order a Pina Colada.
I love this place......as a foodie, its great to finds spots that have unexpected great dishes. Over the years I have popped in and always receive the same quality of food and service. The garlic shrimp are the best and when available their crabs cakes are to die for. :)
A lot of history in this bar. Not great service, but a neat experience for a drink. Some tap beers, including a house beer. Bar proudly opened in 1817. Not many places in the USA can say theyve been in business that long. Its worth a stop, but dont expect impeccable service.
Always a delight! Barry, Mickey and Eric are amazing hosts! You always meet an eclectic group of people here. It is I think the second oldest pub in Manhattan. The foods your average pub fayre, but the drink selection is very good! This is definitely a regular spot for me. The other perk to the ear inn is that you can take your drink outside.
Used to be great, but now ghostly, anomic - trading on its reputation, with the rudest, most conceited actron-bartender [Sunday afternoon] ever. Crowd too , weird, nasty drunks, friends of the bartender. Sad place in decline.
This is a historic place. One of the oldest bars in NYC. This place was the home of James Brown, one of the iconic personas involved in the revolution. I closed for the public during the prohibition but stayed as it was before reopening again. So this place transports you to this era. The service and attention that Erick tha bartender has in unique and excellent!!!
9.25.17 - a little out of the way, gets busy during lunch, super nice staff, old bar feel, neighborhood feel, tender and juicy grilled chicken cobb salad, and tasty chili and turkey sandwich.
Fantastic food, I have not had a bad meal there. The chicken pot pie was incredible with the perfect mix of flavor and the pastry top was buttery , flakey and rich in flavor. The spicy shrimp had a sauce that could be a dish on its own with bread, a definite must if youre in NY.
Love this place! Always love bringing people here for the first time! Great atmosphere, always friendly service and Yuengling on tap!
A classic landmarked local bar that has been around for ages, and with good reason. Its not pretending to be something, like so many places in NYC. This place is the real deal. Its always, always, always a good time.
Very authentic bar, claiming to be the oldest operational in NYC.Low key chill place, friendly staff.I go there for the live Jazz on Sunday afternoon. No coverage needed, make sure to tip the talented musicians.Wish they have more jazz events.
A classic. Might look dirty for unaware tourists, but has a rich story and the oldness make you feel you as re in Manhattan in the past. Food is good (awesome vongoles, though), but the scenario is the main course
Ive been coming here for decades! I was coming here more often when I lived on Jane Street back in the days, but Im nearby, I always try to stop-by. There were so many times back in the days when I lived on Jane St and worked in South Tower at WTC that I would walk all the way home from a stressful day at work and stop by here. This place was always a great stress reliever. I would just walk straight-up Greenwich. Dont get me wrong, the drinks were a big help with relieving the stress, but also, the people and good service at Ear Inn made the difference. The food here is always good. Ive always liked the quiche and macaroni. There were a lot of days I would order a simple ham and cheese sandwich...really good.
Great historic stop for a solid meal and service!
Pictures on the ceiling, Guinness at the bar, good food and service all around. Perfect spot to kill some time on cold day.
Just ate there tonight after recommendation from a friend that was there years ago. Food was great: We all tried some of the specials of the night-blackened catfish, ginger carrot soup, Mac and cheese. And the service was even better--friendly and efficient waitstaff. Awesome experience.
Legendary haunted pirate shack with proper Guinness, serious burgers and historical lore
The EarRegulars on Sunday nights provide what is probably the finest traditional jazz to be found in New York City. Thats the thing that draws me. The fact that the food is excellent makes things even nicer.
I have eaten here dozens of times! Food is delicious and reasonable in price. Historic surroundings. I usually go on Sunday night when there is live jazz, no cover. Fun, friendly and good value.
The burger was supreme! Service was top notch. Old tavern feel. Must go back.
The history of this building alone should be intriguing enough to pull you in. However, if you arent tickled by the centuries-old tales of its famous patrons, then stop in for their renowned burgers. Its a very cozy bar/restaurant scene that has quite the local following.
One of the classic old bars in NYC, dating back to 1817. It used to be on the waterfront and boats would tie up outside. It has about 10 beers on tap and food. Lots of things to look at on the walls, outdoor seating as well. The outside sign used to just say “BAR” but (from the bartender) there was a guy using an upstairs room who for many years published a local happenings paper called the “Ear” and someone covered up the rounded part of the B on the neon sign and it now says EAR instead of BAR
Really nice people and atmosphere. I went there for to go food and waited at the bar. It was a generous and tasty meal. Besides I love to walk by, there is sometimes live music the weekend.
Had an amazing time and the service was the best. The Lamb Burger was delicious, the mixture of seasonings and the right amount of spicy and having it medium rare was the best suggestion ever! Ask for Caroline, she will make your visit worth while! Very attentive and made my night with her amazing energy!
I love this bar. Boddingtons and their own Ear Inn ale from Brooklyn Brewing on tap. This is the second oldest bar in NYC and it feels historic. Very friendly staff. I will probably come back every time Im in NYC.
Wow
As old school as it gets. Zero refurbishment and zero service lol!
Stopped in for the burger that appears in many best burger lists. While not a top ten burger, it is certainly a good burger at a reasonable price. The neighborhood bar atmosphere and cell free rule make for a pleasant evening.
What can I say, Ive visited this establishment on and off for 30 years and there is a reason why. Its unpretentious, the food is excellent, and the other patrons are just looking for a stiff drink or beer, good food, and a mellow vibe. The Ear delivers on all!
Probably my favorite spot in the city. Located on the original Manhattan waterfront, which is now a few blocks away. Its fascinating to see how much of the island is man made and has to make one wonder about how much this city has changed throughout its history. Yet, the building in which the Ear Inn resides has remained unchanged. I look at the menu every time I come here, but I dont know why I bother since I always end up with the burger and a beer. If youre expecting a fancy meal, then head elsewhere. This is old-school New York.
Old fashioned nice place good athmosphere, we met 5 turkish people by change
Went there on a Sunday. Awesome atmosphere with great Jazz music that is easy to enjoy for everyone.Great barekeepers with great service.
The building and the interior have so much history. Very cozy spot for a drink.
I was told it is the oldest continuously operating bar in manhattan. Im not sure if that is true but either way it is certainly worth a visit! Nothing fancy here, it is a true dive. That said it is incredibly fun and festive.
Had a couple of pints here with some friends, loved the atmosphere!
This place was great. It has a lot of character and you feel it immediately when you walk in. Definitely something thats not like everything else in the city. Food and drinks were all above expectation, but the service can be painfully slow at times. Otherwise Id give it 5 stars.
Met some friends here for drinks and snacks and the Spicy Garlic shrimp is worth a return visit, it was so delicious 😋. The staff and service was great and by the time we were leaving, there was live music. Overall a fun space that I would recommend.
L found this bar in a Stormy night . l didnt know where I am untill talking with bartender and omar. both great people! Since 1817 ! Wow!!! . You withnes the history right away . That energy is still there. This is not a bar this a museum! One of the oldest bar in united States. l had a very memorible nigh at ear inn. And still keep going. This is a very honest recommendation . You should visit ear inn!
Cool! Loved it. Great bar tender from the Emmerald Isle.Fun night, live music!Definitely a local bar, and word to the wise, if the jazz is a playin, most people have their eyes closed and are a swayin - so talking is frowned upon, by some of the locals anyway, the bartenders didnt mind one bit though and it was funny for us once we got how seriously they take their music!
The burger is probably the best Ive had at a bar. Staff is absolutely lovely. The charm of a divey pub without the musty smell or dim light.
Finance bro’s ruin this beautiful bar.
Avoid evenings at the bar when the no-tooth reject of a bartender: ex-NW, is there. His bad service & attitude kills the atmosphere. Otherwise, be prepared for the best in pub food and atmosphere especially for lunch or late afternoons with Mick or Barbara tending.
Long go-to pub in this part of town. Plus star for a really good pour of Guinness. Minus star for using a pint glass thats smaller than a standard pint.
Cool place, amazing music! It would be nice to have fries on the menu!
Laid back fun bar with decent bar food. You can drink outside. Can get very crowded. Interesting history. Check out the cleat and plaque showing where the Hudson used to come up to.
Barmaid tells me that I have to give her my credit card PIN to close my tab. I tell her that this is not cool and that I will put in the pin myself. She insists that this is the only way I can pay because “the cord is not long enough” and that they do this with all their customers. Crazy!!!!! I’m sure this can’t be legal. And at the very least violates all sorts of banking protocols.
You can tell this bar has been there forever by the bathrooms.Great spot for after work drinks. People usually hangout outsidedrinking. You can see them as you walk by. They provide crayonsto draw on their paper table mats.
Nice little bar. Went for an ipa. 9 dollars.. a bit expensive even for nyc.
Ancient Dive bar. Didnt try the food.
Two different bars which are the oldest in New York City, Ear Inn (1817) & McSorleys Old Ale House (1854). I have been to Ear Inn only once with my best friend and it was a memorable experience. It was the last time (on 25-Feb-2018) I visited a bar in NYC.
Historic pub with great food and wonderful service. Great specials and genuine waitstaff.
Top 10 best bars in the World, dont miss this bar if youre in the area, and if youre read it your close enough🍹🍾😎👏👍👊
Great food, great service. Really cool vibe inside and you can draw on the table coverings! We love going here after work
🥃🍺🍸🍷 When youre off the beaten path & looking for something way casual & non-pretentious
One of the best bars in the city
Fantastic atmosphere with great food and entertainment! Biden gem. 💕
Best Jazz bar in town, and food is delicious!!
Pretty cool old bar with tons of history behind it. The bartenders were hustling and despite that made every customer still feel important and welcome. The food was also pretty good and came out quickly even with it being so busy.
The live band was really good
Lovely old school bar. A pint of Guinness and Sheppards pie will do just fine
Ear inn is an historical neighborhood institution, youll have construction workers grabbing a beer and a burger around noon to people coming from the village and soho for late night food and all sorts of characters in between .Food is a few dollars cheaper than the area for the most part (not including delis). No cell phone calls in the bar! (texting is all good though)
Amazing old school bar off the beaten path. Always worth a visit. Food is pretty good as well!
Had a really good turkey burger with some amazing fried dumplings. This places menu is all over the place, but all of their food is great.
The only comment I have is I wish I could give it more than five stars. Im coming here for years. The lamb burgers are beyond amazing. the drinks are generous.
This establishment is 205 years old! You can sense the history.... food & service was good.
One of my all time favorite bars ever...an awesome place to drink, great crowd and good food... theres a reason its been around as long as it has...its fantastic!
Although the service was slow to start I had a great time at the Ear Inn. the salad and burger was great and the laid back atmosphere made the place even better. I would definitely go again.
Great bar food, wonder ful wait staff, and all the drinks you could ever want to drink. Not too loud full of history an almost perfect hideway
A classic pub located in Tribeca! Great staff, awesome bartenders, and amazing food.Recommended Order:Lamb Burger w/an Ear Inn Ale
The food was incredible! Drinks are just what you need after a long work week; strong. Awesome place to hang.
Good place to eat - friendly staff, good food, and cold beer.
A bit of the Old New York, most of which is sadly disappearing. The Ear is an institution which has been serving drinks, food and good cheer for 200 years. Thankfully, they actively discourage the use of cell phones.
Guineas perfectly poured. Excellent service. Masks worn, temperatures checked. Sat outside. Good music. A REAL BAR!!!
Good beer . Authentic place. Very old bar with many craps on the walls and even ceiling. If its wasnt pandemic all around the world i want be even attantion to point how glasses are washed. Its only rinse in water... No soap, no dishwasher... Its how its looks like on bar. But place for sure has charisma.
Here from out of town, came across this wonderful little place, good service, friendly staff, great food and beer selections, worth a stop.
Cool spot in a very old building
Better when its busy. Its a historical bar (fun to read about) with great beer, surprisingly good food (burgers) and a staff that knows how to handle the rush with a smile.
I met a friend visiting from Florida at the Ear Inn on a cold, wet evening in January. Can I get a hot toddy? my friend asked. It seems wherever he had been, he would ask for a hot toddy and all he would get was blank stares from his servers in return.Give it a go, I said. The server didnt bat an eye, Sure.
Great historic bar. The live old school jazz music was extraordinary!
One of the best burgers Ive had they use pat lefirda meat and its delicious . The other food is also fantastic nothing fancy, its a bar but much better food and unique options than any other bar Ive been to
Following the path of numerous girls and boys I found myself enchanted by the tall, fair hair, (Former Cats production star) waiter in the Inn! a Charming personality that just spices up the great quality of food and the thirst to drink!
Local. Delicious. Great people. Excellent vibe. Ancient and still going. Best little casual bar ever.
The crowd here was interesting, only had beer and the selection is what you would expect to find at an Irish bar. Prices were reasonable for drinks.
I have been going here for 20+ years and it hasnt changed a bit which is a good thing. Burgers are some of the best.
They happily accommodated my party of 8 visitors from UK-everyone liked the food and the service was friendly. The shepherds pie was awesome! If you like an old school pub feel and dont mind it being a bit warm (no ac?), this is a unique NYC spot.
Lovely friendly pub with great food and fantastic atmosphere.
Amazing place ! The burger was the best i ever had. Nice quiet place (I was there on a Tuesday) and we got seated quickly, our food arrived almost immediately and the stuff wad very friendly. Ill definitely be going back for more !!
Great for family and friends to hangout, historic bar!!!
Great food with history
A must go bar in the gree wich area....weekend starts here from thursdays...Pros:- Evenings are very lively with great dim yellow ambience and friendly staff...- Huge variety of drinksLCDs + grill + drinks = perfect place to watch the game you love- Very humble and friendly owner- Late night placeScope of improvement:- The washrooms can be more clean..- It gets bit congested during peak hours, sitting arrangement definately needs a change..
Old fashioned pub with great, awesome tasting food. Love the original look and historic feel. Great place.
DO NOT GET THE ESPRESSO MARTINI. This is what they’ll give you! Even worse, they know they’re making it wrong and won’t warn you ahead of time OR replace it.
Great hole in the wall!
Best burger Ive had. Cool, old vintage NY bar, with great vibe. Staff is great too.
Brilliant food in a homely and easy bar
Fun place to meet friends, food is on the cheap side but tasty. Actually, damn, my COBB salad was GOOD. sweet! ill be back.
This is a gem ... I especially love that they have music Wednesday nights...
Cool atmosphere. Takes a while for the bartenders to warm up, but its an oldschool type of place. Its worth a try for sure.
Great old school boozer
Eclectic atmosphere galore in an historic setting. Decent food wonderful jazz on Sunday nights.A dont miss.
Generous size drinks.Wonderful retro ambience.Nice outdoor seating.Friendly bartender
Great place recommended by our hotel in Soho and open late. Lamb burger is amazing, house dressing on salad was great .
Great Steak , real new York and european football . Forza Atleti!
Great bar. Great bar man, great bar snacks. Even better Guiness. So good we went back the next day. Will defo visit again next time in NY!
Whats better than 5 stars? This place
Great dive bar but helpful to be familiar with the place to understand the drill
This place puts the B’s in beers, burgers, and bar. A New York classic!
Great drinks and food. Bartender was super friendly and awesome!!!
Great place to go to after a day of work downtown. Saw a celebrity in there the other day. They attract all types of customers. Door man loves dogs. Bartender is fine as hell. Great vibes all around.
Hidden gem
Fun, afternoon, everything or nightsYou will always have fun at this historic building, let the regulars tell you about it.
Amazing tuna melt.
Great beer and food selection, definitely has that English pub feel to it, even have Aspell’s cider!
Nice place .
A friendly local hipster dive and you can color on the tablecloth .
Just delicious food, great beer, friendly and efficient service with great jazz on Sunday night. Not to be missed!
A must stop in New York City. This is a classic bar. Nothing fancy. If you come her expecting to be a hot shot then this place is not for you. This is a simple bar for simple people. A true gentleman in the city. Not many places like it left.
Top place to grab something to eat american style. Ear Inn Ale Washington great, burgers as well. Highly suggested.
Great pub, no color factory stuff when we went today :/ still a good place to grab a Guinness
Great ambiance, not much for beer selection but still a place worth visiting.
Negroni was just too off.Small portions - both good and drink. Not cheap
This bar is as good as it is old (very). Solid spot for good drinks, good food, and great vibes.
Cool dive bar with a lot of history. Fun spot where you can enjoy drinks outside.
Drinks were pricey and did not try the food. The place was small and decorated like my Grandmas storage room. The building is 200 years old so makes sense if thats what you are in to. Definetly a cramped area.
One of my favorite spots in town drop in and get a stiff drink
Julie at the bar is awesome! If she ever wants to talk physics, have her get in touch with Big Mike!
Had a great experience here. The hot and spicy shrimp with the bread was amazing.
A hidden gem. Food was good. Staff friendly. Will come back. Vintage vibes.
Historic bar. Great food and drink. A bit noisy by the bar, but a must visit in NY.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere... Theres a reason its been around for so long
One of the best and oldest bars in new York check it out great food and great staff
Warm, welcoming atmosphere, friendly service, and great food at very reasonable prices.
Very nice and comforting place, a place where you can actually talk without the loud music. Got an old school look to it, which is what makes this place special.
This is a good bar, although every time I visit, I drink too much.
Great bar, cool vintage decor, good burger, and live music on occasion.
I came to this bar as I recently heard their house band, the Earregulars, as guests on Fresh Air. I arrived on a Friday night via the bus, and the band only plays on Sundays. Still, I sat down for a beer and an Irish coffee, both of which were solid. The bar is a mix of a sports bar and an Irish pub.
Best bar in new york, no wonder this has been around for 200 years. Food wasn’t looking too hot so i held off but the drinks are stiff and well worth the price. Would highly recommend to anyone close by
