Nice pub to drop by during Christmas! The Carlsberg had a strong iron aftertaste, but the bartender allowed us to change it to another beer.
Bar is good but food NOT good.Went there to eat and everything started great. Person at door apologized about wait and then let me in to stand in warmth. Table came quick.Great atmosphere.Service was very poor, came to the table about 1.5 times unless we flagged down. Asked for condiments that never came, and drinks only refilled after we looked for the server to get. Pretzels good with beer cheese. Coke was good… but that’s it. Fish and chips were small strips with no taste(why use Soul fish???), kids chicken nuggets over fried very hard, lastly 29.00 roast beef.. Sliced extremely thin beef, boxed potatoes, and frozen veg. Very disappointing, and no one to express this to…. Server gave me someone else’s bill and then gave back the bill 3 times with incorrect info. Go there for the Bar but food needs some serious work! The host at the podium with the cool dreadlock hair should be the manager. He treated us very good and is the only reason I did not go into more detail because I think they can improve because of people like him!
Truly a good time @ this lovely bar, great service , delicious food. I was at the 2nd level bar , loved the atmosphere. Great place to enjoy the game. Come by and enjoy! 🍺🍻🍷🍸🍹🥃🍔🌮🌯🥗🍕
I’ve been here several times for dinner and drinks. Friendly spot with good food. Always has sports on if you’re looking for a place to watch. Nice atmosphere and great staff.
I recently had an unpleasant experience at a restaurant on 51st Street. While waiting for a friend nearby, I decided to sit at one of their outdoor tables, as their signs suggested: Find a seat, scan to order, and we’ll bring your items to you.Almost immediately, I was approached aggressively by an African American man outside and a larger Caucasian man inside the doorway. I had just taken a phone call when they told me I couldnt sit there, despite there being no other patrons around.I asked if I could stay if I purchased an item, and they agreed. However, as I tried to place my order, the man continued to stand over me in an intimidating manner. I asked him to give me some space so I could order in peace, but instead, he escalated the situation, yelling at me and ultimately kicking me out. This aggressive and unprofessional behavior was entirely uncalled for, and I was deeply disappointed by the way I was treated. Needless to say, I will not be giving this establishment my business in the future.
Had a little bit of time to kill and was hungry. This place had excellent service, friendly staff, and decent pricing. Between three of us, we would recommend the street hot dogs, beef stew and the house burger. Portions are more than we could eat.Amenities were fabulous with two freshly renovated bathrooms as well. Can’t wait to visit this place again!
Nice little place in the heart of the theatre district. Food was good. Had an old fashioned which was just ok. All around though a very positive experience . Quick and very polite service as well.
Used to love this spot. The service is great. Atmosphere fine. The reason I’d visit three times a week is the prices were reasonable. $20 for a classic Irish dish. They’d increased prices by almost 50%. And portions are tiny. Justnot worth it any longer. Going elsewhere.
Out of towner wanting to watch some prem action. Didn’t know it was a wolves bar but had good reviews. As soon as we walked in the (I’m guessing) owner/manager, greeted us warmly and asked what game we wanted to watch (wolves on every tv). I said the Cherries Fulham match (UTCIAD!!). We’re a small club, ppl usually don’t put it on. He said follow me upstairs, and put the game on WITH SOUND! Incredible service, atmosphere was awesome, can’t recommend enuf if you’re a football fan (especially if a wolves fan 😉). 10/10
Nice pub. Large and clean. Good choices of beer, whiskey, and cocktails.
Very friendly inviting local bar. Lacked that vibe. Live music would be of benefit. Staff should be encouraged to chat to the customers, to engage them.
Brilliant place and brilliant staff and awesome beersThey put the sound on for the premiership games!!!!
We landed a corner spot in the back! Mustve been 100 ppl in there but we got lucky! Very cool, other than cash only policy for some reason. Luckily, I had some cash.
I’m hoping we caught McHale’s staff on a bad night. So, others aren’t subjected to the service we had. Not sure I have ever rated an eatery at a 3 or less. But the service was not what we expected for NYC, especially with the increase in cost of meals while in town. Our server was very scarce throughout our hour plus there. Not to mention flat soda. Of which they didn’t have any as the serve mentioned they we’re having ‘Problems’ with their carbonation. My wife ordered chicken fingers. Worst ever! Almost like the chicken had been sitting out and the sides got tough or it was deep-fried too long. We couldn’t cut it with a knife. They did take them back, but the replacement ones didn’t have much taste and were still very chewy. My sliders were just OK, but after the chicken fingers, my expectations dropped considerably. We don’t get back to NYC much, please do better for your next patrons that come in and expect some reasonable service and food.
McHales was great this evening! We stopped by with a family of 8 after watching Phantom of the Opera. Killer fish and chips, fries and currie, and the Buffalo Chicken Mac, it all hit the spot. Had some beers and drinks while we were there.Go check them out, tell them Eric Berry your Georgia Realtor sent you.
Quintessential Irish pub! Great spot for food or drinks. We stopped in here 3 times during our 6 days in NYC. Kieran is outstanding and the patrons they draw are equally fun. Thank you adding more memories to our trip!
I have seen my fair share of bars, but this one had it all: Great service (thank you Melina), beautifully poured Guinness and a shot of Jägermeister at THE RIGHT temperature! Would recommend to all!
First time visiting there, some friends and I went in for drinks and we ended up getting some buffalo wings and fries along side the drinks, trust me it was mad pricey for the quantity we ordered. Not going back
A wonderful Irish pub with an even mix of locals and tourists. Great spot to pop in for dinner and drinks before or after a Broadway show. Food menu has something for everyone and includes their world famous Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese. Two bars inside (one upstairs, one downstairs) - both offer a wonderful social atmosphere - its not unusual to find fun conversation with people sitting around you.
Neil is a barkeep god. The food was fantastic. I had wings and Fries with Irish Curry. Those both are a definite re-do. The Corey was ahhhhmazing. I met some amazing people, had great service, and an overall fantastic experience.
What a gem! Quick seating, excellent service and personable staff. We were looking for a quick place to eat before going to the theater. Staff got us in quickly and we had drinks and dinner in no time. Had several staff members helping us and all were friendly! The host wished us an enjoyable show on our way out - awesome that he remembered us and why we were there! Will definitely go there next visit to NYC!
McHales is within a stone’s throw of Time Square and a bunch of hotels, but somehow manages to retain a local feel. I say somehow, but this is because the founder, Paul, is a dead-set champion bloke, the rest of the staff are authentic and welcoming, the space is large enough to have some privacy and small enough to feel cosy, and sitting at the bar is a classic New York Irish treat (without the sticky beer-stained feel). I found it while I was there for PLUS NEW YORK (if you know, you know) and invited brokers to come and see me there. So, when in NYC, get yourself down there and sit back, relax, eat good food, say hi to Paul and the team and enjoy.
So good, I forgot to take a decent Pic 😅Fun server, and excellent food. Atmosphere was upbeat and fun.Excellent option if youre going to see Wicked, which is right across the street
Perfect. Got in immediately at 6:00 pm even though it was full. We had show tickets at 7:00. They got our order and it was on the table in under 10 minutes!!! All with a smile. In 30 minutes time no less than 3 people came by to see if we needed anything. It was super convenient to grab apps and a beer. We had the McHales sampler appetizer plate with a little of everything. The buffalo wings were outstanding. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend.
Good place to watch soccer.Guinness served right. Let foams sit then pour again.
Great spot full of cracking people. I thoroughly recommend it ever in the vicinity
It seemed that they didn’t have enough staff working. And half of the staff working was rude. It took them close to 40 minutes to bring our beers out. Food was decent for bar food.
Authentic and great for both locals and out of towners. We had a great time, terrific barkeeps!
Great place to hangout for drinks with friends or coworkers. Love the ambiance and drinks.
Great place. Great service. When we went they took our order but then told us the kitchen was closed. But they gave us a free round of drinks and even they gave us some fries and spring rolls free. Very friendly. Will definitely go back. Again the service was amazing!!!
Came in to drink. (no food ordered) Friendly and fast with good vibe.
Stopped in on a visit from Ireland. Was highly recommended by friends from home and did not disappoint. Great food service and friendly staff. Great spot to watch Premier League matches and NFL. Would highly recommend 👌🏻
Fantastic bar with amazing staff. Great pub food. All the usual stuff on draft with a massive selection of spirits.
Great bar not far from 5th avenue. Loved the quaint vibe, quiet main section, quick service from the wait staff, good beer selection. Will make sure to come by next I’m in NYC!
This is definitely my new favorite place and Cabins my new favorite person!! Best spring rolls ever. Big portions. Super friendly and accommodating! Cant wait to come back!
Great Irish pub/bar. Has an upstairs where we sat. Had windows overlooking the street below. A little warm up there but great seats otherwise. I had the French onion soup to start and wow! Look at picture and you will know. I had the Shepards pie which had great flavor and .meat was so tender. I could have ate 2 dishes of it. My friend had the reuben and shared with me. Was best i have had. Illinois has nothing like the quality of this. Great place!
Wonderful restaurant and pub with a great atmosphere. The Christmas decorations they have up during the holiday season are an excellent touch. The food is good and the normal midtown expensive.
Great location across the street from the Gershwin Theater. Irish pub with a great vibe. Staff was nice. I had a Rueben that was amazing. I highly recommend it. The sandwiches are huge. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon. She said it was very tasty, but the chicken was a little dry. The fries were very good. Really nice menu. A very comfortable atmosphere.
Ripping off tourists with silly entrance fees and then adding even more extras on the bill as there was sport on the tv. avoid, avoid, avoid.
Came in to watch a UFC PPV fight on Saturday night. The food was pretty good, with lots of big screens for the fights with no cover charge. Good mix of tourists and locals, and they’ll have a cute decorations during the holidays. Great place to watch sports while having good food and drinks!
Blonde older server got offended by group walking over to dart board after hostess nicely said the table had been there for a while and we can go over when they are done. Refused to serve group due to one member of our table respectfully saying we wanted to play darts as a table was getting up. Never been treated so poorly in my life. Sad that the place seemed fun and one person ruined it.
Brilliant bar, we looked up a bar to watch the Celtic game and fortunately McHales was 5 minutes from our hotel. The bar staff were on the ball and very attentive, even though the place was absolutely jumping. They had Guinness on draft, which was perfectly poured and tasted 👌🏻Definitely going to come back for a few more drinks.
I didnt like the cocktails. One of them had a paper straw.
Great pub to watch soccer and have a pint or two with food. Reasonably priced given its prime location. We went there several times during our visit to NYC. I like the friendliness of the staff.
Huge shoutout to this place! They welcomed us with open arms to watch the World Series. Chris and the entire staff we encountered were so nice and friendly. We will definitely be back. Thank you for your great sportsmanship!
Excellent midtown pub. Frequent here regularly. Great for Soccer matches and very friendly staff, especially the bartenders!
Arguably our favourite and most authentic Irish bar we found in NY. Sat at the bar, barman was helpful and talkative. Good choice of drinks and a good selection of whiskey to go with.Busy on a Tuesday and was showing a variety of sports all night.
If you are a Celtic fan this is the place to watch the games, great pub and great atmosphere
Great for sports. And excellent location for Broadway shows
Best Guinness on this side of the Atlantic
Not great - incredibly wobbly tables, friendly but slow and inattentive service, and food was very poor. Way overcooked chicken, burnt French onion soup, Coke that tasted of cleaning product, sticky tables etc.. there are definitely way better Irish pubs in this part of the city.
Only had a perfect Guinness, but Bethany and her team were so very inviting and whole bar is over-the-top beautiful (especially with Christmas decorations everywhere)!
We had beers with our nachos and appetizer sampler. Other than the chicken tenders (not too tender, sadly), the food was good. The beers had a great pour, which is saying a lot because one of them was Guinness. From the moment we entered to the time we left, the customer service was fantastic. They were very busy, as it was cutting close to showtime at the theaters, and everything went smoothly. It’s a great spot if you’re in the area.
Neil is the best! I always come back here for a good time after a show!
The best Irish pub in New York! The bartenders are great and don’t feel the need to flirt to make a tip unlike Other bartenders that are slimy! The bartender CABS was the best and gave our group (about 10+) shots on the house as we were watching the World Cup!This is the place to go to for good food, great drinks, and excellent company! If I could give more stars I would!
Excellent!I visited McHales a few weeks ago after seeing a show. Food was delicious and service was great. I accidentally left my wallet there. I am not local, so it would have been challenging to get back there. The management worked with me and kept my wallet safe until I was able to get it shipped back home. Someone even dropped it off to FedEx for me. Everything, including the cash, was intact when I received it. Top shelf place and excellent atmosphere!
Host was awesome, had a bigger group and we got accommodated on our requests. Ordered a Coney Island IPA. Shared nachos and chicken wings, nachos don’t look that appealing but it was pretty good.
Came after a show at Westside theater. Apparently the Irish curry was their best seller. A little spicy, loads of chicken. I went to school in Ireland and I didn’t remember this in pubs… 😂 loved the environment. Served by Rachel. Come and enjoy a late evening out. Like the fact that most indoor pubs are not smoky like Irish pubs 2 years ago. 😝 had a Bud light. I like my wimpy beer. God bless the USA.
Great Irish pup, with great rock music geared towards the Irish. Fantastic ambiance, and I have to say, the staff were all phenomenal. Especially Malina was just an absolute doll. One of the best severs that weve ever encountered. She goes above and beyond the job expectations. She was like a breath of fresh air. This coming from a couple that are both chefs, and have been in the business for a very long time combined. The food was excellent as well.
The food was pretty good and arrived relatively quickly after ordering. The service was decent, and the atmosphere was ok. It was a Monday night, so it wasnt packed so it was nice to get seated eight away and have an attentive waitress.
Great little Irish pub. With extremely cold beer. The coconut Majito was definitely delicious. The second floor dining has a nice view of the street .
Staff was friendly enough but this tipping business is getting ridiculous. Our bill had 20% added to it without asking us - surely it should be my choice how much I tip. I paid cash, some 5$ over the bill and did not even receive my change, had to go after the waiter to ask for it, wouldve been even more on top of the already ridiculous 20%. Dont think Ill be going there again.
This bar has been theyre for many years like man I went one day had a beer and like pretty good customer service and Im from new york so I know
First time here and bartender respectful and polite. But the prices expensive. $11 for a normal beer. So I will Not be back!
Great service, very nice service and an amazing environment 👌🏼👌🏼 love it
Delicious food, courteous and attentive staff and a nice atmosphere.
Was here on Valentines Day weekend and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat before going to see Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre. At first I thought this place was a no go due to the steps at the entrance and me being in a wheelchair but they pulled out a portable ramp from the back which allowed me to get in and out! The staff was very helpful, friendly, and courteous. Food was very delicious. Would definitely go here again!
Nice place to visit post to work/pre-show or to watch a football match!
Very disappointed in this “Irish” Pub. The only thing Irish about it is the name. My shepherd’s pie was clearly frozen and microwaved before serving. We ordered the sampler as an appetizer and considering the price- we expected more. Very overpriced - I could get a meal at Applebee’s for a lot less that tasted better. I gave it two stars because the staff is friendly, otherwise I would have given a one star review.
Horrible food. Molly should look for a new career. Must be related to someone to still have a job. Go down the street to the other 20 places and guarantee better service and food.
Friendly efficient staff, reasonable prices $15-$20 for most entrees, pub atmosphere
I visited a lot of Irish bars during my stay in NYC last week. And McHales is by far the best. Lots of tvs for sport, food is excellent and everyone who works there is happy and very accommodating. I encountered one girl, Melina and she went out of her way to make sure my sport was on one of the many tvs.I sadly found this little gem of a place on my final day before I went home so only spent a few hours in there. But when I visit this great city again this place will be my first port of call.Richie Bailey ( TS tattoo😀)
Excellent fish and chips. Ribs were very good. They gave alot of food for the price paid. They could have given half the amount of fries and a couple less ribs and I would still give 5 stars. Good beer on tap, lots of TVs. Great place to watch a game. Service was excellent too.
Took the family here for dinner following a show. We got there just before the dinner rush hit, so we got a table immediately in the upstairs dining area. Food choices were fairly limited, incliding specials, but they were good. There was a $15 kids menu - which I suppose is reasonable for Manhattan. Service was good and friendly. Bar crowd in adjacent space was loud.
So many great Irish pubs in NYC offering real honest decent fayre. Sadly this isn’t one of them. The burger and fish and chips were terrible. Okay for a pint. Nice atmosphere.
The owner took care of my wife and I while in NYC... Wife has broken ankle and needed low table and he hooked me up with Pirate game as they have MLB tickets. Great food and service...lively place near Times Square.....Dave and Cathy Washburn.
This is a small restaurant / bar combination. It is very popular, and the kitchen is open late. I went there at 22:00, and the full menu was still available. They have happy hour also. I had a chicken and pasta dish, and it was served very warm after only half a beers time. Very friendly staff, who gave excellent and fast service. I guess this is a good place to bring a few buddies for some ice cold beers in the evening. Prices are as expected down town NY. Worth a visit.
Enter at your own risk, I wish I never had. My wife and I went into this restaurant for martinis before our show and ended our evening in Urgent care. My wife has celiacs disease and we stressed to our server how serious her allergy is and to please take extra care to make sure that only Titos went into her martini. He was very pleasant and assured us he would. When he brought her martini she could immediately tell something was wrong. The smell and taste were totally wrong. We questioned our server and he assured is he watched the bartender pour Titos for her cocktail. I then went directly to the bar and the bartender insisting it was Titos poured a shot for me to try. I have no idea what he poured me but it was most certainly not Titos. It tasted like cheap low end vodka. We asked for a manager but no one was available. We left and half way through our show had to leave and go to Urgent care as my wife was quite ill.An absolutely awful experience.
McHales was on our radar prior to attending Back To The Future musical. You wont be disappointed.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Wicked Appletini, right next to the theater.
Nice little bar conveniently located across the street from the Gershwin theater. My daughter and I were seated quickly. A good blend of music playing as well as the Yankee game and the Masters tournament. The server was an absolute gem. He was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The drinks were refreshing and the food was okay. The mozzarella were fine but the sauce was a bit off. We discovered a small piece of chicken in the sauce. We werent sure if that was part of the sauce or an oversight by the kitchen. Anyway, Id recommend this place if youre in the area waiting for a show.
Fantastic place to watch Celtic games. Staff superb and atmosphere great. Good food aswell
This place is absolutely AMAZING! We visited this place for the first time last week while visiting NYC. We ended up going there 3 nights in a row because of how great the atmosphere and service was. Neal and Chris- The bartenders were OUTSTANDING! Super personable, funny, and nice. We tried their Nachos and fish and chips both really good. However, the fish and chips were AMAZING! Can’t say enough good things about this place, will definitely be back when we go to NYC again. Check it out, you won’t regret it!!!!
Beautiful place with very kind staffs, especially Mary, she managed all the tables with a full restaurant all by herself and maintained patience and kindness. Would definitely return because Mahale so accommodating and the food was good.
Staff was very accomadating. great atmosphere and the food was amazing.
Great atmosphere and really friendly staff
Great bar that somehow steers clear of the midtown tourist crowds. Very nicely furnished with after work crowds. The staff are top notch and will go out of their way for you. A great spot tucked away around the corner from Roseland Ballroom if you want a few drinks before a show, or a just an all around nice spot to go with a crowd of friends when in the area and dont know where to go.
Very clean and bright 2 story Irish pub with a Georgia Bulldog following.
This was my first time at Mc Hales with some friends. One of the members of my group really enjoyed the whiskey choices. The prices of the mixed drinks were in the $13+ range. This was reasonable for NYC. Very pleased with the drinks and atmosphere. The staff was very attentive and courteous.
This was a lovely Irish pub located across the street from the Gershwin Theatre. The bartender was friendly and the atmosphere was nice.
You won’t regret stopping into McHale’s for some drinks and food before a show, at least not on a Thursday night. The blonde woman with an accent, whom i unfortunately never got the name of, was a delight, and never skipped a beat. Food came out together, hot, and we never needed or wanted for a thing, she didn’t hover tho, there was no wait for a table of three but a nice crowd in the back, not too noisy... you know that perfect dining experience? The one where everything is perfect? Yeah i had that here.Rustic Caesar salad, buffalo Mac & cheese, and a strongbow on tap - Please! :)
Great place to watch english football
Words are not capable of doing this place justice! Went in on a frigid day for an Irish coffee and ended up spending the afternoon. Hummus platter was to die for, the beer selection is robust and the bloody Marys are tasty, and the olives are even stuffed with blue cheese. Will definitely be going back - highly recommended!
Friendly local customers and staff. Great stew. Great atmosphere. From the two Canadian girls.
UFC PPV are usually free! This is simply one of the Best Irish Pubs in NYC. Beer on tap always tastes correct. They clean their taps and tap lines because the drafts taste perfect. Irish born bartender Kirin will pour you a perfect Guinness. Simple traditional Irish menu. Banggers Mash, Shepherds Pie, Irish Coffee, McHales Irish Burger plus the usual sliders, wings, wraps, great chilli!
Irish pub in close proximity to Broadway district/Times Square. Wide variety of food including standards like salads, burgers and sandwiches but also occasional specials such as pork dumplings with sweet chili sauce. Very clean establishment. Well decorated for the Holiday season. TVs all over for sports fans to enjoy. Friendly, hardworking staff. Huge selection of Irish Whiskey and they keep the stiff drinks flowing. Slainte!
Staff were really friendly and accommodating, food great too, a great place for dinner and drinks while in NYC
Fantastic food. Our server Sadie was the greatest. She made our day.
0 stars is more applicable to our experience at McHales. Three of us stopped in for a pre-show bite. The pretzels we ordered came out cold, and when we told the waitress, she pinched one with her fingers to confirm and brought them back to the kitchen. She came out with the same ones - we could tell by the pinch mark. For dinner we ordered a grilled chicken salad and chicken tenders. The grilled chicken was cold and dry, and the tenders were rubbery, and went mostly uneaten. When the waitress returned with our check she noted she took the pretzels and tenders off the bill, but that she TASTED one of the tenders and didnt think the it was that rubbery. SHE ATE THE TENDERS! What kind of place is this?? Never again.
Best bar in NYC, great food and service! The official home of The Blueshirt Underground Show for NY Rangers viewing parties!
We didnt eat food, but we had many drinks. We loved the atmosphere and the entire staff working tonight. Everyone was absolutely wonderful.
Excellent bar/pub with cool bartenders. This is a good local pub that attracts a bunch of after-work crowd and somehow escapes the tourist scene even thought its right across from the Wicked broadway show. The drinks are strong and bartenders are so nice, especially Cabs (if thats how you spell her name). She has a memory of an elephant and will remember your birthday 3 months after you come back to the bar. We celebrated a friends birthday party and the bar even had candles on hand to make the birthday boy feel special. Good place to grab a drink after work.
Its a bar, pretty standard. Youll be able to get all the drinks you need. Giving 3 stars because its expensive due to location, and there are not vegetarian-friendly options for apps.
Food was just okay, cute atmosphere, not one soccer game was being played even when we asked them To put it on !! Went there for the game, kind of upsetting!
Dropped into this place Saturday evening on a visit to NY and was immediately shown to a table. Food was wonderful and the music was an unending stream of my favorite classic rock songs. Saved it to my phone for the next time I come this way.P.S.If you catch the Broadway hit Cats beforehand, check out this restaurant for their delicious Rum Tum Tugger cocktail 😺
Great place and the best service Ive had in NYC
Great place couldnt fault it one bit good was amazing and the servers are excellent proper good customer service excellent place we came back every night highly recommend
Nothing stands out here. Ready for a cold beer go for it. Want a gastro pub Experience then pass.
A pleasure to spend an afternoon in. Exceptionally friendly bar staff, love going back here 👌
Service and drinks were great but sticky tables and an awful restroom. Waitstaff was very personable.
This is the one. The one where the celebs go, the one where people go to chill, the one where you can go for a decent drink and not have to worry. I had such a good time here and gained so much inspiration. This will be the famous bar of Times Square, it’s just a sleeper right now.😎
We went in before the Arta for Autism show at the Gershwin theatre. Food was great and service even better. Very friendly, helpful and welcoming
What a great spot! Was reccomend by our hotel. Loved the building inside and out, female bartender Cabs and Sarah the waitress were fabulous. We ordered bangers and mash and shepards pie. Was delish! Definitely will return!
Good spot for a drink while waiting for a Broadway show.
Excellent service in a great location. Close to theatres, Times Square etc. Delicious cocktails and food was good too with a great selection. Comfortable atmosphere.
This cute out of the way spot came through in a clutch off the late night. Grabbed a Ceasar salad and wings right before midnight. And then to find out they had Frose was more than a treat. It was great!
Good food. Friendly staff. They have unisex bathrooms which I find more efficient. I was able to get draft samples to choose the best bet for me. Id definitely go back.
Bar across the street was packed so my friends and I went to Mchales and had a great time. Food and drinks was good, the female bartender was excellent, very friendly and great customer service. TVs ok I wish there were more TVs in different angles of the upstairs bar.
After bar hopping the island from pub to pub for a week, we have voted this bar our absolutely favorite. Chris is the funniest bar tender and this place has a great atmosphere. Youll have a blast drinking here til the wee hours of the morning.
Ordered the sampler. All the food on the plate were good except the regular wings (those weren’t so good). The Moscow Mule was good and the prices decent.
Amelia is an amazing bartender, and Afia (I hope I said it correct) was amazing answering my questions till Paul came along. Looking forward to hosting my next office party there.
Very nice staff and the food wasnt the best but still pretty good. The overall Vibe is great and really positive.
Wed ordered the beef stew and fish and chips last night and received beef stew, chicken fingers, and soggy sweet potato fries. We called McHales and they denied that such a mistake had happened, strenuously arguing that the chicken in front of us was actually fish. Ridiculous.
Do not recommend... Made a reservation, got to restaurant ten minutes early... They would not honor reservation.First, I was laughed at when I said I had a reservation. Second, I was told that they wouldnt honor the reservation because there was a big soccer game on the TVs.Show quoted text
Great for drinks thp the food left a bit to be desired. However the waitress was efficient, nice and diligent. Would definitely go back for drinks and bring Wendys with me
Best and only Bar on NYC 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Place was busy and service a bit slow. The food was mediocre except for the sheperds pie which was excellent. Dont order the grilled chicken sandwich...obviously cooked the night before....cold and dry. Would go again for beers and appetizers.
Awesome service -improvised but delicious Irish Russian! And -oh god- the apple pie!!!!
Great Irish atmosphere! Good food, beer and service! A very lively bar and nice outdoor seating. Loved the interior and the food
This place is OVERPRICED and the food tastes like its made in a high school cafeteria. The bun for my burger was a simple, low cost white bun purchased from the cheapest grocery store in NYC. I will NOT be back.
Ultimate place for watching football (soccer)!
Great spot to watch live sporting events!
Fantastic pub close to Broadway and Time Square. We watched the tennis final. Superb staff, very friendly, excellent beer. Loved the atmosphere
Great Irish pub, with cold beer and good food! Surprisingly friendly butroned up business lunch crowd. Nice competent bartender. Definitely will return!
Excellent all around. We had salmon, shepherds pie, wine, and a chocolate martini. We will definitely be returning.
My wife and I went here after seeing Wicked at the Gershwin. We enjoyed a great meal and a drink. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is comfortable.
We had a happy hour there and it was so juice. The food was yummy and bartender knew how to make everything so delicious in regards to our drinks.
Fantastic valueBrilliant food, I had lobster with pasta and cheese, only worked out at £9.80, in the uk it would be more than that !!Other food was great value tooDeserts are qualityNice service from real Irish girls, food delivered fast and hotWould definitely go back again
Good place with nice food
McHales is a great place for dinner, a casual beer, or some darts. Beer is delicious especially the Guinness. Service is warm and friendly. And the decor is great.
Quick friendly service and staff. Lots of seating. We walked in but I would recommend reservations for any NYC restaurants.
The food and atmosphere was fantastic. The bar/grill is a great place to watch your favorite sport.
Typical Irish bar. I got a salad and it looked like they opened the package and plopped it on my plate (as in smushed together). Service was not amazing either. But somehow expected at a bar.
Good food, cool atmosphere but very grumpy server that was not happy to be serving tourists. The prices are pretty high as well for an older bar.
Very good pub. Excellent food and great to watch soccer.Great selection of Beers
Average Irish pub with some decent happy hour beer offers. Food ok as expected and moderately priced overall. Can get very busy as in a prime tourist spot
Food is great.. Shepherds pie is always tasty and the wings some of the best. Bartenders always moving around so no matter how crowded never waiting around for a drink
Full of Georgia fans, but decent food. Service was good. Great French onion soup. Bangers and Mash was ok.
Way, way way too expensive and the food is just ok. .I mean I understand its an expensive neighborhood but boy I had Nachoes n a diet coke n it was $24Before the tip...the service was just Ok..Im not planning on wasting my time there ..Ill leave that to the Tourist
Super mid food, good atmosphere, employees were very sweet.
Great service, good irish food.Perfect for watching TV live sport events in a pleasant atmosphere.
Please visit this bar! By far best spot I been to in NYC! Super nice, attentive and we felt very welcomed. Plan on returning when we visit again. Great vibes!!
Good Irish pub across the street from Gershwin theater.
Great service and nice pint. TVs for all sports on demand.
Great service! Beer and cheesecake, it felt like home.
Best pub treated like VIPs, bar staff amazing, defo visit if Celtic fan 🥰xxxx
They poured me a really yummy guinness!
Friendly staff although sometimes you have to get the attention to the bartender. This is probably my imagination but it seem the cups for the beer are slightly bigger than the rest of the bars.
Very homophobic and unwelcoming crowd. Bartender very racist to my friend- who’s birthday it was. Would not recommend to anyone.
Had some wings and beer
Great place for a cold one and some eats!
1st bar we hit in Hells Kitchen! Service was great and food was good. Appeared to be mostly locals which we loved since were tourist
Nice Irish pub, great food and drinks.
Went for a Liverpool game while in town as a tourist. Had a couple decent beers and some tasty food, but the football crowd really made the experienceLots of fun
Warm, cozy environment...great Old Fashioned! Server was a delight, friendly and smiling.
Everything was fine it took very long to get drinks and food.
Great place to hang out.
Super convenient before seeing a Broadway show in the area. Food usually comes out quickly, but overall service and food quality is average at best.
Pretty good as far as pub food and drinks go. Not spectacular, but would go back again. Staff were friendly.
Fantastic Irish bar and grill, wonderful food and atmosphere, very attentive and friendly staff, inexpensive, loved our visit there, frankie.
Good for a quick drink. Not the best bloody Mary I ever had. Super staff behind the bar.
The EPL bar!
Great place to eat and drink.
Gonzaga buzzer beater in OT over UCLA!
Its ok food. Nice staff and cold drinks
Official home of Wolverhampton 🐺
Friendly staff, excellent house (McHales) craft amber ale
Really chill! Stumbled in here with a few friends after Times Square was shut down. The staff was great! Food and drinks even better!
Great service. Typical Irish Pub, nice selection of higher end bourbons also.
Was visiting NYC from the UK and was hunting for a place to watch the UFC ! Great bar, perfect atmosphere and good food !
Went to the city with my kids and in laws to see Rockefeller Center and were looking for a nice pub to eat quick. Service was very good. Prices were very reasonable considering the location right in the theatre district. The burger was excellent and cooked perfectly and what you what expect from an Irish pub. The only complaint we would have is that kids chicken fingers were very tough and rubbery. If you are looking for a casual quick eatery McHales is a good choice.
Friendly staff, showed the football, all good!
Great pub with good food!
First time in this spot and I loved it. Definitely going back
Great burger & fries with a broad selection of beers. Nice atmosphere with very good service.
Amazing place to visit great food friendly restaurants
Great place. I got pretty wasted by accident but I remember it ending well. Hopefully, they will allow me back. 😅
Here on vacation from long beach California. Came for 3 days to have our drinks before bedtime. Alberto and Matthew treated us like regulars.
Good for a beer every evening while on vacation in NYC and staying in nearby Hampton Inn North Times Sq. Hotel.
Great location for a pre-theatre bite and for sports fans. TVs well placed throughout the restaurant to watch all your favorite games. Love the wood paneling and Christmas decorations during the holiday season, which adds to the cozy feel.My fish and chips were just average: batter on the fish was very thick and the whole dish came out cold (I suspect it was waiting on the pass while the other dishes for my party were still cooking). However, the friendly service more than made up for the food.
Absolutely amazing staff and fantastic food! Highly recommended even if youre not that into soccer. GOGO FCK :)
Great place, beers and excellent staffs. Burgers, can be better
Really tasty bloody Mary’s..everyone’s super nice, great service
Fantastic Irish staff, Mel from Tipperary and Kieran from Salthill, had a brilliant laugh with them and the food was delicious 😋

Great place for drinks in the heart of Manhattan. Chris is a great bartender!
Fun low key bar. True to Irish hangout. Love so much after Wicked.
