The Iron Horse NYC

After googling for good financial district pubs, my partner and I decided on the Iron Horse & we definitely felt we made a great decision. Great music, bar staff were fantastic & entertaining, drinks well priced and the crowd was good too. Well definitely be back.

I was beaten so badly by the bartender/table dance/dominatrix that I had bruises on my ass for a week and couldnt sit without pain for a few days. (pic below) If the genders were reversed, she would be in JAIL.I did not volunteer to be part of the show, I was just sitting at the bar with a buddy when she grabbed me. I played along with her show and did not know how much damage it would inflict. No apology from the bartender (see pic below). I tried to contact the owner to complain but no luck and the bar has no public email. I felt humiliated and without any recourse.I am filing a complaint with the NYC Consumer Affairs and may consult with legal counsel on my options.

Went there once last year. Yeah, it was noisy, yeah it was crazy, but it was a good place to lie low and hide from my family and the insanity coming from that reunion. Sorry about the okay rating, but I only had a couple beers and no food. Will be back in town in about a month and I will order the wings. If theyre spicy enough, Ill up it to four stars.By the way, thanks for letting me hide out there.

The $10 burger and beer special is a great deal. The burger is pretty good! The bartender and staff were also friendly. However you do feel like you need a shower after leaving the place.

Cheap drinks and a great burger and drink deal. Theres a swing on the bar for the bartenders, so be sure to buy your bachelor friends a ride and drink.Unfortunately its a dirty and dark place and the bartenders arent very friendly at all once theres more than 5 people in the place.

As a travel agent: Come check out this place, especially on the 4th of July for Free BBQ -Games and more. Inside is another kind of fun !They set up a block party fundraiser with hair raising activities. People line up and wait for a burger or hot dog in the heat cause its free but you can give a donation to wounded soldiers.it also comes with sides, coleslaw, & macaroni salad.Join up for the $5 raffle for the tasty pig that rotates all day.Inside get a beer, or dance on the bar. If you have the courage try the swing. . This goes on from noon to 8.On Sunday they have free food with the purchase of a drink.Its filled with bikers and really great people. Dance on by and say Hi.A really fun place to be-I am a return consumer!

The swing over the bar is more annoying, and probably dangerous, than it is entertaining, and people climbing the bar counter to use it (typically with their shoes on) - thats just disgusting. The floor is sticky, and the whole atmosphere is trashy.

This place is off the wall. Never wouldve expected to find a place like this in the heart of suit country. Fantastic prices, completely unpretentious. Food is good after a few pints & shots. Leave the stick in your ass at the door.

It is a mainly just a bar. They do make good burgers during the day. The is a pool table, jukebox, photo booth and swing over the bar. Female barmaids do get on the bar to dance and swing. Day time they can get busy.

Stopped in for 15min to check it out. Definitely worth it! Spend $5 on the wheel of misfortune and get a surprise shot. Stay 5 more min and some talented chick will swing and dance on the bar.

This place used to be really chill but the other night I had a very bad experience dealing with one of their bouncers that just turned me off to ever coming back there again. Even if you think someone is intoxicated (which I wasnt) you still let them speak and treat them with respect. Food is also pretty gross but thats how its always been. Anyway, Ill spend my money elsewhere from now on

Decent dive though and while not expensive its not that cheap either. Drinks are strong and the bartenders are surly. Fun place but not somewhere I could spend the entire night.

Very small place just it can accommodate 30 or even less...it has 2 nice bartenders and in them would to a swing dance in the swing.not very sexy....but 20$ minimum if you use credit card, thats a turn off..

Best local joint I have found yet downtown. Had beer and nachos at 630pm on a Monday. Music was great, not crowded and cheap. Exactly what I was looking for.

Place a bunch of Oppy people have been to. Bremis and KRoss went here.Jess and I went here. They do happy HR M-F till 8. Sunday all day beer and burger for $4.

Stopped in for a drink after a concert at Rooftop Pier 17. The Iron Horse was great! Reasonable prices and so much fun.

A friend dragged me there for his birthday, what a shitshow. The place permanently reeks of puke and attracts the sad kinds of low life that work in the area, drowning their terrible life choices in forgettable booze.

Burgers are great, especially for the price. Ignore the dive bar decor - the drinks are affordable and the ambiance is fun!

Definitely a dive bar.....worth it if youve already been drinking for the night and dont care about cleanliness...girls are entertaining at the bar...only reason to go n have fun briefly

Dive bar where the bartenders dance on the bar and so do the customers. Good place for a birthday with friends, but I wouldnt go just for an after work drink.

This bar is the definition of trash. The drinks are garbage and the waitress get angry if you ask for tap water even after ordering beer.

Visited this place for the first time and it is pretty crazy and fun. The beautiful bartender is friendly and up for your crazy challenge you have for yourselves. When we visited we were entertained by some bikers, who used the swing on top of the bar, also danced on the bar and more crazy things. Would definitely visit again.

It seems hit or miss. One Thursday night, it was fantastic. Beer, food, and a show. Then on a Tuesday night, the place was slammed with only one bartender.

Everyone was so cool from the bouncers to the bartenders. Love the swing above the bar. Would go again.

Its a dive bar with trashy looking bartenders that have great spirit. Dont be surprised to see them using the swing thats above the bar...

So so. I was expecting a country type bar... Wasnt really impressed by that part, but the double were good and bartenders were attentive.

Really cool and classy spot tucked away on Mission Street behind some big steel doors! I came here to support a fundraiser -- good excuse to treat myself! Reservations were all booked up, but never a problem for a barfly! Two stars for the full menu being available at the bar, one star for the service, one star for the atmosphere. Minus a star because Jack is not served here!My bartender, Colleen, was very welcoming, and patiently helped me navigate the menu. The Smoked Salmon hit the spot. Next time I will ask for more chips! Next visit I hope to try the Sesame fried curry chicken, if its still on the menu.Busy atmosphere, but the vibe was short of noisy. This could be a good place to (impress) invite a friend for some conversation, and good eating.

Rowdy and fun place to have drinks and usual bar food. There’s a swing above the bar that you can actually ride and dancing on top of the bar is also encouraged. The beautiful bartenders put on a show of various talents which is quite entertaining. This is my usual hangout spot. 😊💜

This is an amazing bar with good food, good drinks, with a great atmosphere. This is a great place to go during lunch or after work. The bartenders are cool too, all but one. Her name is Raquel I believe she begs for tips even after me and my group kept tipping she still complained. Otherwise the place is great

This place is actually pretty fun if you go with groups. Fortune wheel ($5 each) is definitely a nice addition. You can also pole dance/swing on the bar/pool.

I went in, sat at the bar. The place wasnt that busy. 2 people behind the bar. They each went past me several times. After 15 minutes of neither of them in way acknowledging I existed, I left. Guess its not a place for white people.

Can be cheap or pricey depending on what you drink. If you like rot gut, youre in heaven. The entertainment is fun, the vibe is always up beat for the most part. Had a problem where I asked the bar tender twice to allow me to use a different credit card after hearing my tab, she still ran the original card she was holding. Asked twice. Not cool. Besides that, its a nice change considering the neighborhood.

Very fun place indeed! It was my first time being there but the bartenders are so polite and very fun to talk to, they even show me some tricks. Hands down to you guys ill be back

Without a doubt THE most fun Ive had in a hot minute. Good service, good atmosphere, good (naughty) fun. Highly recommend the wheel of missfourtune, and highly recommend the establishment as a whole.

They wanted to charge $40 for my buddy to ride in the swing and possibly get a dance for his B-Day so I declined that. But other than that pretty sweet place.

Its a cool dive bar. They have beers for $2. The drink prices depends on the bartender. One bartender will charge you $7 another will charge $9 for the same drink. But its cool cause that extra $2 dollars comes out of the tip.

Another dive bar review. But, the place is cool. Mostly because they have a swing above the bar. The bartenders and bouncers are really friendly. So, we had a good time at our last visit.

Please someone from this place please call or text me. they buying you a shot until the bill comes an you have to pay for those shots. I love Amber the bartender but everyone else is all about making a quick buck and this is why this spot is so dead.

$5 PBR with a whiskey shot plus a bar swing... that should give you an idea of what you are walking into. Its a great place to start the night or end it. Super cheap drinks and a wild bar scene. Best time to go are weekends, usually tame during the week.

My 3rd time at Iron Horse and once again we had to deal with drunk patrons being touchy feely, as they stumbled across the bar. The security (door guy) didnt seem to care. The photo booth didnt take cash and someone had spilled a beer on the seat. Other than the amusing swing above bar, the place needs a good cleaning.

Cozy little bar in Lower Manhattan. Food isnt that great but the beer is decent. They have a good selection on tap.

Cool waitresses, fun board games to play. They have a photobooth near the pool table in the back. They have a swing and a pole on the bar table and if youre lit enough theyll have you go up. The one thing I hate tho is that a freaking shot of fireball was $8, the same price as a rum and coke.

This place is quite terrible! The food was borderline inedible, arriving cold and undercooked. The drinks were poorly made (my 3 year old cousin could make better!) and the place was quite cramped with little to no attention/service. There are plenty of good bars (this is a horrible bar) nearby, especially towards the river. Overall, disgusting!

The Iron Horse is a seemingly well-worn, inexpensive bar that has a malleable atmosphere controlled by the fun, energetic and acrobatic bartenders. At mid-day The Iron Horse is usually mellow and relaxing allowing you to take a seat at the bar, enjoy your drink, strike up a conversation and/or shoot some pool [The pool table itself is surprisingly well kempt considering that its in a bar but the cue sticks are in rough shape and act as a perfect excuse for how bad I am].By late afternoon the vibe Swings into an upbeat bar complete with loud music, bar top dancing, a wheel of misfortune and an actual swing, all complimented with jovial customers.The only issue I have with this place is that the mens (single) bathroom doorknob doesnt have a latch which grants anyone access. Be sure to knock loudly and open the door slowly to give the person time to react. Once youre inside just pee with your back towards the door to create a level of privacy akin to a public urinal and to avoid a potentially awkward situation.

Pretty much a dive bar but a place where you can have a lot of fun - different from the other places in that vicinity. Great to go with a group of people.

Very dirty smelly sawdust on the floor bar. Which is what its going for so if you go there expecting that youll have fun. The bouncers on the other hand really take their job too seriously which is in this case not a plus. Fun if youre looking for cheap drinks bro atmosphere and half naked bartenders.

Im sure this place is polarizing. The booze is cheapish, the food is terrible. But the bartendresses seem to schedule dancing on the bar and theres a swing for special dances which are surprisingly acrobatic. Its an experience to try with people whod want to ogle at ladies and pregame. Can of beer + shot was $7 when I went, but if you order a (larger) shot on its own it was $8 on a Saturday night.

This bar has a swing. Dive bar. Wild times. Had some jenga as well. Small pool table in the back. Cheap drinks. Wheel of misfortune is always entertaining.One surprising thing is that pay per view UFC fights are free of cover. Which was an awesome random discovery.

If youve never heard of Hogs & Heifers but you think that the movie Coyote Ugly looked like a good time, and youre in the financial district, and you dont want to catch a cab to the actual Coyote Ugly because you are too cheap, then I guess maybe this might be the place for you to drink at.

I was in the area as my sister who was visiting from LA was staying in the area. At first I wasn’t sure, it looked iffy, but after the waitress served us up some I’ve the house special drinks, we were having a blast! Fun dive bar, omg the bouncer looks like a dick but he’s a big loving bear. The cherry on the top was the swing, those waitresses were pulling Cirque du Soleil at a dive bar! So much fun!

Its dark, its shady, its completely out of element for the area. the women are trashy and the dudes buy beer in a can. if youre looking for the divest joint downtown you cannot go wrong with the iron horse.

So we came here with a group of 4 with the intention of another group of 2 meeting us later , we all been out drinking. We wanted one of our buddies to get on the swing and pointed him out to her, in which the bartender said the price was a beer and a shot per person in the group in order to get a single person on the swing. Odd, we said ok and got 4 beers and 4 shots. The buddy to get on the swing started dancing and didnt have any beers or shots with us, we gave him water. The other 2 buddies joined us and we finished all the beers and shots then pointed out the one to get on the swing who didnt drink and asked if he can get the swing dance and the bartender told us hes too drunk to get on the swing and if have to clear it with security, in which security said he was too drunk to ride the swing.... What got me upset about this was if the bartender knew he was too drunk to get on the swing in the first place she should have never charged us the price for the swing dance knowing he couldnt get on! Since we already paid the price for the swing we ended up having someone else ride it.......

Cheap drinks but being that its a dive bar, its pretty trashy. They do have a single pool table in the back. If a stripper pole and swing set ON the bar is your thing, check this place out.

Comfortable. Walked in and looked around, and saw no afternoon alpha-dogs running the show, so hand me the menu. Well prepared bar food, good and stiff bar pours for their drinks, and fresh beers on tap. First time since the early 90s that Ive had a decent steakette, or steak fingers, breaded beef app, and Ive tried many since then with great disappointment. Five words: wife hooked on steakettes, now. Ive been talkin those bad boys up to her since we first met in 1999. That alone will bring us back, but the nice gal who was taking care of everything (orders/hostess/bartender/server/bouncer) on the bar floor did a great job with a very busy place, and was easily the hottest little cougar every middle-aged dude in that joint definitely noticed. Raven hair, and pale blue eyes.

This is not a place I would go to, but a friend suggested it and I was pleasantly surprised, it was a different experience for me and I did have fun. We walked in and there were the women on the bar in a swing lol.

Dont ever try to come here before 10PM. Seriously. I once came with coworkers and it spelled like piss, and felt very weird. On the other hand, Ive found myself trashed here a couple times for different birthday parties. Its resulted in people getting whipped with a belt while on a swing, dancing on the bar, bartenders breathing fire, and a bunch of crazy pictures. Oh, and a bartender let me platonically feel her up (is that even a thing?). Overall, great place when youre in a trashy mood. Awful if youre not.

Awesome, until I received the bill and they tried pulling some hijinks!!! Bartenders also complained they werent getting 20% on their tips!

This place and Jermeys (not too far from here) are the two in the area worth going to for that dive bar atmosphere without leaving the place feeling all grimy. Also the swing above offers a good drunken sideshow.

What a dive , thermostat was set to 90° & it was stifling hot in there so went outside to get some air where I was subjected to one of their bouncers literally having clothed sex with a patron right by the front door . Dont go to this place
