This is a solid destination for a pint of beer. They have a terrific selection of taps, a full bar & margs by the pitcher. I think they have about a dozen TVs (with the sound off) for your viewing pleasure. This place has a lot of regulars. Its no frills & that is perfectly fine with me.Service from Leslie behind the bar is top notch. She knows what every regular drinks & always has it ready for them.Starting your night ? Ending your night ? This is likely a good destination.
Great place to stop in and have a beer or three. Well stocked jukebox also. Bring ID - I am far beyond the legal drinking age in NYC but I was still asked for it! A fine compliment.
Gina and Meg took really great care of us! Great atmosphere, awesome selection of tequilas too! Great for movie/TV fans, sports fans and all looking for a bar with no silly gimmicks but doesnt skimp on friendly awesome service!
I spent many a night here in my twenties, we actually rang in the year 2000 here. So much whiskey and too much coke. The place looks exactly the same as it did back then.
Love this dive bar. Leslie is amazing. She walked me through tequila and scotch selections.
Godfather II, Crocodile Dundee, and The Verdict were all shot at 7B. In addition to its cinematic history, this bar is a fun place to be anytime of day. I’ve been here with the day crowd in the middle of the afternoon and I’ve been here having Long Island Iced Teas at some ungodly hour. The bartenders and bouncers are the nicest people and the drink selection is classic with some new age brews. I don’t go here often, but I should. It’s always a good time. Also, love a bar that has a booth.
Great little pub a little more on the touristy side. Prices were a little higher than i thought, but all in all a pretty good experience. Lots of TVs for sports watching and an eclectic crowd that frequents the place.
Easily my #1 go-to neighborhood bar. There are different vibes and crowds at different days/times, but the stand out for me is the set of regulars and interesting characters that come through in the afternoon. The mix of wizened, wild, and weird is so much about what I love about the East Village and you really never know what youre going to get when you strike up a conversation at 7B. Theres only a handful of places like this left in the city and very few with as much history.
Bartender knows a brown ale from a pale ale. Stout from larger. Loud and busy but never waited on beer. Good beer selection.
Great bar to avoid most NJ, LI and CT. Entitled Bridge and Tunnelers with that inane Speech inflection...Know what I meAN?! Ha ha
My favorite bar ever!!!! Except for my hometown one. Always a killer attentive staff throughout the years. Reasonable prices and the absolute best cd jukebox you’ll ever find!! I visit every time in town
Great and atmospheric place! Friendly bartenders, good prices and a couple of arcade games.
Used to be a regular patron of this place, but after observing something today I don’t think I’m coming back and definitely not willing to spend money here. There is currently a group of refugees in line for some food down the block, it’s raining and the bar turned their outdoor heaters off on purpose to make these vulnerable people cold. We asked them to turn them back on and got some really ignorant comments back that rang with uppity discrimination.Shame shame shame on you, your establishment makes a significant amount from film shoots (I’ve been location manager a few times on those shoots) - yet humanity isn’t something this place can afford. Hospitality and humanity go hand in hand. Alas, farewell b!gots.
This is your basic dive bar. The staff is pretty nice. The drinks are a bit more pricey than your basic dive bar which was confusing.
Love love love this place. Friendly, unpretentious, not too loud, unlike a lot of other bars in NYC. Great atmosphere redolent of 1950s New York. Its a little divey but not too divey.Good selection of reasonably priced beers. Interesting mix of patrons, it seems a popular spot with East Village locals for a quiet pint or two.
Went to visit today as it’s the bar out of S&TC Blown away by the atmosphere and the decor and the friendly lady behind the bar (we went on a Wednesday afternoon) thrilled with the American dive bar feel.. didn’t want to leave
Bouncer was amazingly chill. I went with a couple friends but forgot my ID and he was nice enough to let me in. Great guy! I would say his name but it escapes me. The place itself was okay. The drinks were decent.
The staff were rude. The bartender did the math wrong when I showed him my ID and he acted like it was my fault when I explained that I am above 21. I honestly didnt even stay long enough to get a drink because the bartender was so rude that I didnt think they deserved my money.
Cozy bar, great bartenders, must see for all superhero fans! Luke Cages bar + Jessica Jones watering hole
Generally its an amazing dive bar with great service and a good jukebox. Patrons here tend to be pretty insular in that its hard to meet new people and just socialize. Maybe its just me, but they give off a Williamsburg vibe, if youre into that kinda thing. Personally, Id rather a crowd that was more engaging, but I dont discredit the bar for this. Cheap drinks, low key ambiance, definitely worth a visit.
Gina (gorgeous red haired lady) is the best bartender ever. So sweet and lovely. Amazing place !!
Great beer selection, most pints are 6 bucks including craft beers on tap. Plenty of other drink specials and space along with a great old school vibe with pin ball machines and a juke box machine. Highly recommend!
Layout/atmosphere*Horeshoe shaped bar in center; tables and booths flanking on both sides; nine TVs; photo booth; jukebox; arcade games in back; complimentary water cool; no food menu
This is a great spot for a lot of reasons. If your a TV or movie fan this place will look very familiar. Especially if Jessica Jones is on your Netflix list. The staff was friendly enough and the beer was priced fairly. Would definitely go back.
Great little dive bar that has got a lot of attention recently. I like it here and prices are within acceptable levels. This place gets super busy on the weekends.Bar staff are nice enough but I would not expect them to be super friendly.
Updated dive-bar which keeps the character it had from back in the day, but offers a mix of decent beers and bottles of super cheap Red Stripe (etc). There are nostalgic video games at the back and a wide selection of sports being shown on big screens. For classic 80s movie buffs, this is where they shot some bar scenes in Crocodile Dundee (one and two).
Super fun to hang with my friend!
Listen.Go here and make friends. It is the best. This is where I make friends, whether with patrons or bartenders. Its as cool a place as there is. Put some money in the jukebox grab a pitcher and enjoy yourself. What every bar should be. If youre there long enough ask for a bag of popcorn or some Cheetos from the bar tender.
Go for beer here - the cocktails are too expensive. Bathrooms are what youd expect from a dive bar. They have Wi-Fi but its not really advertised (the SSID and pw are on a Post-it on the cash register). Unfortunately, they dont broadcast the SSID, so youll need to enter it manually; if you have a modern Mac, hold down the option key while clicking the Wi-Fi icon in your menu bar, you should see it in the list now.
Great dive bar! Very attentive staff as well. My drink stayed full and bar tab wasnt bad at all. I watched the World Cup game and made friends with someones entire 30th birthday party crew!
The worst bar in NYC! The waiter literally insulted us and took our drinks away from us for no reason. My brother ordered a white claw and while we were enjoying our drinks one of the waiters walked over to our table and snatched my brother’s drink away! He yelled at us, “we don’t sell these here!” and then proceeded to pour out his drink infront of us! We paid for that! Is that how you treat your customers?! I can’t believe I’m even having to write this review, I’ve never experienced worse customer service in my life. Safe to say I would rather die of thirst than order a glass of tap water here
Great dive bar in Alphabet City. Lots of screens with different sports/games playing. Extended selection of beers at cheap prices (for NYC). One great thing is you can bring your own food!
Dive bar complete with to-go window with the friendliest of staff. Indoor & outdoor seating. Right in the heart of Alphabet City. No food available but youre welcomed to order delivery.
Quick pint to take pics. Simple sports bar. Very comfortable.
Decent bar with some issues with the outdoor dining set up. Staff was attentive and drinks are good but there is an issue with constant and aggressive vagrants.
Great local bar. Tons of TVs for watching the game and always a good crowd. Plenty of beer specials. Sometimes gets crowded on Friday and Saturday nights, but its a young fun crowd. Perfect local bar.
Been here twice and always had a great time. There have a good selection of beers on tap. Place gets busy some get there early for a good spot.
Love this bar. In 93 amazing. In 2020 amazing. If your not a rockin roller and not into that vibe, well dont write some b.s. review. This is the real deal.
Wobbly table but great atmosphere and friendly staff. Honest about the beer flavors and quality which is key to the beer snobs!
7B is a neighborhood bar. its worn-in appearance is not “kabuki.” the “dive” aesthetic is really a natural occurrence of serving drinkers through the good times and bad ones…and letting that history soak into the space and it being ingrained. the vibe is friendly yet gritty. mind your manners and enjoy good times. act like fool and said mileage may vary. stopped here with friends for a few beers on a Friday night. was superbusy. will get loud as the evening turns to midnight. the prices are dive-level. drinks menu etc is endless. plenty of flatscreens for sports fans. hat tips to the two bartenders for 1) holding it down as wave after wave of thirsty zombies rolled in; 2) pouring me a proper Guinness; 3) for sassing my friend for remarking on their snack of choice—sour jelly beans. my advice: come here with friends and enjoy a part of New York that has slowly been disappeared by the “future”PRO TIP: carrying cash will speed up leaving as there are always like 18 million people trying to close out their tab on cards at the same time.
Great neighborhood bar. TVs for sports.
Good bar. Prices average for the area. Video games and the fact it wasnt crowded was definitely a plus. Bathrooms are not great though
Vibe is great including the drinks but the video game and photo booth in the back accept money but are completely broken. Wasted $7 on them.
This is the kind of bar in which I prefer to spend the bulk of my time. There is a good high end bourbon selection if youre into that, and a bunch of tvs playing different things. For instance, baseball, return of the jedi, step brothers and die hard 2 were all going at the same time. Solid bar.
Great place to get a beer and watch a game on the big screens. The bartenders were very friendly and kind.
One of the best Rock n Roll drinking bars in the city. Amazing music and good bartenders
Youve seen this bar in movies. Gets crowded at night. Good selection and friendly staff.
Its okay..... Drinks are okay, atmosphere is okay, nothing special. A good bar for a quick shot in-between bars.
Great svc & history Herr. A+++++
This is my favourite bar in nyc
Great bartenders. Bar has a rich history in movies and TV. Fun place to be.
One of my favorite bars in the East Village. Classic dive bar vibe and always a good time.
Fun bar to watch football or grab a beer if you live in the area. Kind of a dive bar, friendly staff !
Seriously don’t waist your time here. Go down Another block to Empellon on st marks and A for an absolute great time with incredible staff and cheaper drinks.
Classic NYC bar. Always fun.Great staffNever get tired of going for a pint at 7B
Visiting New York for the first time and I have to say this place is awesome. My best friend and I got drunk under $50. Cant beat that!
Classic alphabet city bar that has outlasted so many. 7b, the horseshoe bar, veselkics who knows the real name .one of the places you should go to before its gone
Great football bar, famous New York style place, used as a set for a few movies/shows
Great place, great service, great everything.
Great local bar.Sara, the bartender is super friendly.
Relaxed bar, great atmosphere.
Good spot to sober up quick. Walk in and place reeks of chunder. Wait at the bar for 30 minutes and not get served. Finally outright ask for a drink and get told “maybe in a few minutes”
Great dive bar with a good atmosphere, lots of taps and a good sized circular bar.
Please dont waste your time/money here. The staff is atrocious and beyond rude. I came in with a few friends and while we were deciding on a pitcher to buy, the bouncer asked us to leave because we were stealing their electricity (my friend was using a portable charger). When we tried to clarify, they demanded we leave. Truly a bizarre experience, especially because Id been there many times prior.
Classic East Village bar with a great vibe and no-nosense drinks!
Comfortable, low key divey bar with local charm! Decent prices for drinks and kind staff…. The bouncers might be grumpy though..
No entry without ID. Disappointed.
Always stop in there when visiting NYC, had a blast and the bartenders were great. Got pretty busy as the night went on but the bar staff kept up. Rumor is Paul Giamatti stops in there sometimes.
Old faithful Alphabet City institution. Saw some faces I knew & many new ones too. The night I went they had an awesome spread in the back of free Wisconsin cheese tastings. I even got a complimentary Fireball shot. Other than that I was happy with my Vodka Sodas & Jameson shots. This is a comfy corner bar across the street from the park that you may recognize from old episodes of Law & Order.
Always a good time with a great staff and booze on tap. 👍
Cool place bartender was very nice , drinks were great ....old school bar
Crocodile Dundee was the first time I saw this bar. Then I was a cable tech for Time Warner Cable when I use to work this area. Its amazing the bar still there soo many years/decades. Good to have a neighborhood place last.
The prices are good and the beer is cold. What more could you ask for?
Excellent atmosphere. Fantastic service. Great place to meet p
After trying several bars around Thompkin’s Square, we went in this bar. It was loud and busy, but the atmosphere was good. There weren’t a lot of younger 21 year olds. The bartender was knowledgeable about the various beers they served. The prices were reasonable as well.. similar to other bars in the area. I would definitely go back here.
Good times since tbe 80s 🍻
An East Village institution! Best vibe, even better bartenders
Nice place, real NY bar and it was in Luke Cage!
Rude Staff & high prices , they will be bankrupt by the time when they lease renews, mark my words.
Good beer selection, simple place to watch sports
Proper Dive. Cheap booze, nice staff, just the right amount of sketchiness.
You want a dive bar? You got it! Feels like you should be able to smell nothing but smoke and dust. Great service. Highly recommend!
It was mostly a good time until we interacted with one of the bartender ladies who was rude, unfriendly and killed the vibe. Everything else was good.
Very rude bartenders horrible vibe and TOO MANY TELEVISIONS
Best place to go on football Sunday. All the games.
Always open late, the bartenders are all lovely.
Great dive bar and iconic east village place
Huge bar! Let alone I believe 10 TVs to enjoy whatever sports your into they have it! My friend brought me here for a game and I havent watched sports in years, but the energy that was in that bar I caught myself cheering for team. Then I find out this bar has been in multiple movies and shows. felt good to be apart of history.
Old school dive bar that is a true classic and neighborhood gem. They have an awesome selection of whiskeys here too. Im a local and I come here often. Awesome place through and through.
The service is terrible.. two girls behind the bar were utterly miserable..
The photo booth and game do not work and just take your money
This place has the cool neighborhood bar experience. Its a fun dive spot with good prices and service. The selection is surprisingly large and the people that work and hang out here will treat you like a regular.
Best night ever.
The quintessential dive bar. Featured in Crocodile Dundee!
Best bar in NYC.Horseshoe bar hold a million stories.Too many movies an TV shows filmed to count.Always great bartenders and staff
Frozen in time, great place to catch up.
Always excellent. Gina and crew are top flight, and any patron is guaranteed to be cool.
Great dive bar, good prices
If you dont like this place you need to step back and take a good hard look at your life.
Been there many times (my buddy lives around the corner). The bartenders are great. Very attentive, and friendly. Sometimes it gets a little crowded, but most if the time it is just a great crowd.
Very solid dive bar
This spot is an institution that must be protected at all costs
Dive bar with more room than every other Manhattan bar. A variety of pinball machines along with a couple arcade games. Very local spot for the laid back crowd
Big space and fun bar, great for Sunday football. Bartender consistently gets orders wrong and is pretty nasty dealing with customers
Still my favorite bar in the city.
Gina and Sara are wonderful. Quaint place. Friendly people.
Fantastic low key east village bar with a great jukebox.
Ooooo this was really really good. We had a couple entrees and everything down to the fries was phenomenal. The drinks were fantastic as well.
5 stars, simply not enough a rating. Make a 6th star for this place. Better than LEGO
Its a very old bar in New York City AKA old L.E.S tob me. forget thr East Village never heard of it...anyway old school and nice place to go to. A lot of movies were film here.
This place is fantastic, awesome vibes and cool staff.
I dont know how to describe how fantastic this place is everytime I visit!
Average bar in East Village. Drinks were fine but 2 girls bartending are really rude, they dont care for customers, they only care for tips and they even go to the point of demanding a good tip for a beer. There is also a middle-aged guy bartending, and honestly hes cool. However, avoid going to this place, there are plenty of bars nearby which are way better in terms of service.
Super fun bar with great sports on. Beer selection is great and atmosphere is even better!
Good friend works here plus it was on Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and Law and Order! Buck Hunter needs calibrating! SMH
The diviest of bars. Authentic and true to itself. Great stop for a drink. My type of “happy hour” spot.
Awful experience; disŕepectful waitress, expensive drinks; unwelcoming
Pony tail beard bar back telling us to calm down nothing is that exciting on a Friday night at 10pm, the only lasting “dive bar” in the east village with over priced drinks … lost all respect for this place
They were so rude to me and my friends. They yelled at us for sitting in front of a window that NO ONE was actually ordering from. It was giving racist and rude.
Was there one late night and the bartender started to get into fight with this gang, but he had this women to help him out and they were throwing them all around, destroying them, even though I thought for a second the bartender got stabbed. It was crazy to watch. Great service tho.
Gina is the best bartender ever!
I really like dive bars and hate how packed almost everything in the area gets so this is my go to when I meet people in the area. Never been on a weekend night so dont know the extent of how crowded it gets, but on weeknights and weekend afternoons its been low key.
Absolutely loved this bar. Cheap and the staff were really polite. Will definitely go again when Im in New York.
I love this bar. It literally is in the shape of a horseshoe, making it feel perhaps more spacious than it in fact is. The bartenders are fun too and it usually draws a fun crowd.
Its very lively on the weekend and theres good prices. Bartenders are great.
The kind of spot you are glad still exists in the East Village. Inexpensive and always a little rowdy.
Cool bar with cool views of the river & the Statue of Liberty!
Good to wach sports. Many screens
Excellent dive bar. Great music if youre into rock/metal
So much history here. It continues to be inhabited by the spirit, even though these kind of thing might be seen as passé -- Boomer: something that was commodified and gone extinct.
Luke Cage. Jessica Jones. Five Stars.
Good dive bar with lots of drink options. Also has some arcade games and pinball.
Great EV dive bar option
Nice pub, no Hef but they have Hoegaarden which Ive not seen much in the US. They have PINBALL
Bar Manager Spencer if the best!!
Embodying all the dive bar traits this place is an experience. Super cheap drinks, friendly staff, pinball machines and neon signs. Also its cash only from the dodgy ATM and you can get your food delivered here. What more dive bar can you get? This bar was a feature in Crocodile Dundee, and is still frequented by Australian expats, though these new hipsters are a little less threatening. They have TVs everywhere so you can watch your game, over cheap beer and your favourite take out food while playing knifey-spoony with the East Village crowd.
Best bar in NYC.
The greatest dive bar in Alphabet City!
This was one of the best places I dnt remember getting drunk at ! That bar tender Nicole MMMMMMM ! I would take my grandma there its so much fun !
The hit show Jessica Jones was shot at this bar
Classic NYC bar. A relaxing place to while away a quiet afternoon with friendly bartenders & mellow light filtered through colored windows.
Awesome dive bar in East Village!
Great neighborhood bar
Great baras the owners of the queens head limehouse London great to find a sister bar no fuss good beer great staff and atmosphereden west and jack hunter
My favorite Manhattan dive experience
I used to live on 8 th street a block from the bar ,was the best one in the área; i would like to know, how is it right now? they used to serve peanuts , with the beer
They literally threw a drink in my face because I only tipped $2 for a $7 drink. Never go here.
It is a good place to enjoy a good time. 👍👍
Great spot for a fun night out
Fun spot
Awesome Punk Rock bar
Mick crocodile dundee drinks here for a reason. Rowdy, traditional American bar, bit expensive but worth it!
Overpriced for a dive bar but good vibes; until the bouncer chased my drunk friend, grabbed her hand and drink and threw it on some car because she accidentally walked out with the drink.
Run of the mill place, good atmosphere and friendly, COVID-wary staff
Been years since I was there, but it was the best dive bar in NYC.
Best dive bar in New York. Best juke box in NYC.
Great bar with loads of character
Old school iconic bar
Been around since... forever!!!! Horseshoe bar!!!
Dive bar. No pool though
Usual diverse friendly spot.
Very dirty, smelly and the staff were very rude and aggressive. The bathroom looked like it hadnt been cleaned in over a month. Never again.
Honestly, its a dive bar lol. reminds me a lot of the college bars i used to frequent upstate. Dim lights, few TVs having games, LOTS of beer. Oh and the bar is a giant horseshoe so their is A LOT of space.
The bar of the Jessica Jones Netflix show
Cheap drinks average service
Great Bar, Great People
Rock n roll
My spiritual home in the East Village.
As a film buff...and a bit o trivia....this bar is the location of bar in Crocodile Dundee I & II. Be sure to visit when on walkabout in the neighborhood!
Not the best bar / bartender in the area
The rudest place I have ever been, run run away.
Good vibes. Good beer.
Worth a visit!
Fun dive!
Wooden bar which is made for spending hours at it.
Rob is a great bartender!
WATCH YOUR CHANGE FOR A $20 BILL!
