It really feels like an authentic German beer hall. My partner and I went for an Oktoberfest celebration and it was absolutely a fun vibe. Live music, good beer, and fun vibes. Our server, Gabby, was absolutely fantastic. She was very sweet and very attentive. She brought our beers and food very quick. She even noticed my partner and I were playing Connect 4 on our phones and she brought over the physical board game and offered multiple times to bring us other games. Her attention to detail and kindness encourages us to make this a regular haunt. Our favorite Oktoberfest in New York, and we can’t wait to bring our friends to do a ski shot. Highly recommend, especially if Gabby serves you.

Absolutely have a great time every time I come here. Almost a month-to-month repeater. Food is great, beer always fresh and cold, and, most surprisingly, cheap! Live music-just what the place needed-then, of course, the excitement of football match days on deck outside and just a great spot for people-watching. This is the place to get quality lager in New York, served in liter jugs. Unlike other European lagers around town, theirs is never flat. Their house lager on tap was great. The service is friendly and good. Inside its roomy with several fans, a balcony for smokers, and lots of TVs to watch sports. The perfect place to watch German games and even great during Juneteenth.

I ventured to this establishment for a leisurely Sunday brunch, finding it to be pleasantly uncrowded. However, the limited waitstaff did necessitate a brief wait for seating, and the dish preparation took longer than anticipated.Opting for the crispy pork knuckle, I was met with an overall delightful culinary experience. The pork skin showcased an exceptional crispness, harmoniously complementing the robust flavors of the meat, despite its generous thickness. The side sauerkraut, in my humble gastronomic opinion, was executed to perfection, boasting a delightful interplay of sweetness and tanginess that invigorated the palate. The sweet and savory glaze, a masterful component, artfully balanced the dishs inherent richness. Regrettably, the portion of this delectable glaze proved rather diminutive, starkly contrasting with its portrayal on the menu. Upon inquiry, I learned that the establishment produces a limited quantity of this glaze to accompany each knuckle daily, with no option for additional purchase. It left me yearning for a more generous serving, as it plays a pivotal role in offsetting the porks inherent richness.Nonetheless, my overall experience was agreeable, further heightened by the charming German-themed decor that enveloped the ambiance.

Randomly ended up here for a Sunday lunch and we were one of just two parties in the space - so you definitely didn’t get the typical beer house atmosphere and for some reason service was still kind of slow despite how empty it was. That said, the food was a pleasant surprise! Hard to do pretzel and bratwurst wrong (both tasty) but I was most surprised by the crispy pork knuckle - flavorful, not too fatty, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Pairs super well with the side sauerkraut and pickled onions! Note the restaurant is on the second floor up a set of steep stairs (not sure if there was an elevator).

The atmosphere is great, in typical German style. They have live music during the evening hours. The beer is just typical German beer you can find in any store; you won’t find anything special here. Our experience at the establishment was quite disappointing, and we left feeling both offended and uncomfortable. While our waiter was friendly and attentive, the managers side comments were completely uncalled for.To begin with, the Pepsi we ordered was flat, as if it had been poured from an old, opened bottle. We sent it back, which we suspect marked the beginning of our troubles with the manager. We ordered wings and fries, but when the food arrived, the fries were hard and dried out. I politely asked our waiter for fresh fries that werent overcooked. She mentioned she would need to check with the manager, which was perfectly fine. However, when the manager brought out the new order of fries, she placed them on our table and remarked, “If they were cooked any softer they would’ve been raw,” and then walked away without any further acknowledgment. This comment was not only unnecessary but also rude. There was no apology or inquiry about whether the new fries would meet our expectations. As a paying customer, I believe I deserve respect and consideration, especially regarding my preferences about food preparation. As a restaurant owner myself, I understand that customer satisfaction is paramount, and it’s crucial to communicate with respect, even when addressing concerns. I noticed the manager checking in on other tables, but she completely ignored us, which made us feel sidelined and unwelcome. It’s clear that management needs to recognize that issues can arise and should be addressed with professionalism and courtesy.

After having been to almost all the traditional Bavarian places in Munich, this place initially felt like a little bit of a letdown; like a cheap American copy of an centuries-old Bavarian tradition. Yes the ladies in dirndls were there, but there was an element of added sex appeal here. Yes there was Bavarian pride in flags and banners, but it wasnt done in the traditional, humble manner. Yes there was plenty of seating here, but not in the traditional bench format that I got used to. The beer was Bavarian and good, but more expensive and not _nearly_ as good as Id hoped itd be. The band was interesting, but it felt like there was a little bit too much focus on the band and less on the interactions between the people. The food was okay, but a little bit too Americanized.Still. For being thousands of miles away from the originals, this one did do a pretty good job of reminding me what I do miss of Bavaria. A solid wave of nostalgia did hit me, and if this the best we New Yorkers can come up with of Bavaria and its fine traditions, then weve done a pretty good job of balancing Bavarian Brauhaus and Keller culture with American capitalistic might.

After coming back from Munich we thought this would be a fun throwback to the German beerhalls while we were there. Experience wise it was similar lots of rowdy people enjoying themselves with beer and food. While I would say the food wasnt comparable to what we had in Munich it did the job. The vast hall full of wooden benches and TV playing football. After all, when we went the World Cup had just wrapped up so everyone was still in the Cup spirit. We started with the pretzels of course with beer cheese/mustard. It wasnt quite the same but still pretty good. We tried the sausage platter to share as one can never get enough bratwurst right? It goes so well with beer!Beerhaus might not be in Munich but it brought back enough semblance of it for us to enjoy. While I do recommend that you actually go to the one in Germany cause it certainly and experience to remember.

This beer garden is ideal for enjoying beers. However, the cost of beer is quite steep, a common trend in most beer gardens and pubs throughout New York City. Despite this, I always have a good time here when Im with friends.

Solid Munich/Oktoberfest-esque beer hall perfectly located in East Midtown. 3 blocks from Grand Central & easy to find. The atmosphere was laid back, the beer was perfect, and the food is pretty massive for the portions. This one at Bierhaus was not as big as the ones you get in Germany, but it was cooked perfectly. If you look for authentic German food, this is the place to go to. Only negative point would be the Jaegermeister. It has to be served ice cold, but that is something that most restaurants/bars in the USA dont get right. We arrived before the late afternoon crowd and started with a couple of grapefruit Hefeweizens. They were a bit sweeter and less carbonated than versions I’ve had prior. We had one other beer, a stout, that was really good. For food, we started with a big pretzel that was served with cheese and a mustard dip. The pretzel was soft and warm with the right amount of salt.I selected the barbecue wings and Brussels sprouts from the appetizer menu and made them my entree. The Brussels were great and the wings were good too. I picked barbecue, but based on the bartender/server’s recommendation I’d get the buffalo wings next time.I heard that the peach cocktail was very good, so I’ll have to try their mixed drinks on my next visit. Prices for cocktails averaged $15, which isn’t too bad and the drinks are a decent size.

It used to be a really good place with a good environment and now its turned into your typical trashy American bar with a bunch of TVs and sports showings. The bar was pretty busy at 11:30pm and they started telling everyone to leave and being super rude to us. They were practically yelling at us to leave when we were a party of 20 people and had brought them good business. They also didn’t have music and just showed Golf with super loud commentary. They really don’t know how to create an ambiance anymore or provide good service. The worst part was probably seeing one of the waiters pouring beer in a glass. Literally holding it up-straight and letting foam take a quarter of the space of the beer glass. Awful place.

If you’re looking for a genuine German dining experience, Bierhaus NYC falls disappointingly short. The glaring red flag is their exclusive focus on Hofbräu beer—a brand that, while iconic, is hardly representative of the incredible diversity of German beers. Any true German establishment would offer a broader selection from various regions, showcasing the country’s rich brewing traditions. The food is equally uninspired. The currywurst, for example, was served on a small plate atop a bed of fries—a presentation that felt more like an afterthought than a nod to tradition. Worse, the curry sauce tasted overwhelmingly sweet, lacking the bold curry flavors that make the dish a German street food staple. And burgers? They’re simply not a part of authentic German cuisine.Overall, Bierhaus NYC feels like a cliché, a superficial imitation of German culture. It lacks the depth and authenticity that comes from owners or chefs with firsthand experience in Germany. A German restaurant should be run by people who understand the cuisine, the culture, and the nuances that make it special—not just a surface-level attempt to capitalize on a theme. If you’re craving a real taste of Germany, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Welcome to to Germany!!! well sort of...Great place great atmosphere! German Bierhall right off 3rd Ave in heart of Midtown East. The place is beautifully decorated with staff donning the silly outfits. Authentic Hofbrau beer on draft is super deliious. The food is also under the radar delicious. Both chicken samdwiches, the burger and curry wurst are my faves. Great place to watch a game. So many TVs with spacious large tables. Lastly they have an amazing balcony overlooking 3rd ave.

Amazing little german bar up a steep flight of stairs. The place was extremely lively on a weeknight, and service was prompt!I tried whatever the waiter recommended, and the beer was really good (I can’t for the life of me recall the name of the draft). I also split the appetizer sampler with my buddy I was with. The portions were a little small for the price, but it’s a bar in NYC so you can’t have high expectations. A great selection of meat and pickled vegetables to go with the beer.overall I had a great time and would recommend it for anyone looking for a german place to unwind in NYC!

Atmosphere is great and everything else is just as wonderful, however a group of parents were letting their kids be loud and obnoxious enough that even though less than a quarter of the tables were full, my father and I could barely hear one another sitting across at a table on the other side of the room.No fault of the business or employees, but the parents.I highly recommend the Bierhaus, the food and drinks are delicious and well worth the price. Glad to see that they survived Covid, as my father and I visit here every year when we visit the city and its one of the best parts of the trip.

First off, the food was amazing! Large portions, everything was cooked well, flavorful and very filling. The prices were very reasonable to boot. However, the service was very slow, Im not sure if this is the usual case but they seemed to be very short-staffed, with only one server for the entire dining area, while the hostess was on her phone and there was no bartender in sight. We were seated at 6:30 and couldnt find anyone to take our order until past 7. We waited another 15 minutes to get our drinks, but thankfully the food came out quickly afterwards. No complaints about the food and the ambiance, but the service was disappointing.

One of the best restaurants in NYC. The German dishes are authentic and delicious and the beer is amazing. The service is also top notch. Sadly, they use Yelp for reservations (which is the most corrupt tech company out there and forces you to install their app on your phone) and dont always answer the phone, and Im still waiting for a reply to the email I sent them two months ago. That would all be fine if they didnt essentially require a reservation.

Bierhaus NYC is a great place to watch a soccer match, especially if youre a fan of Bayern Munich. The atmosphere is electric when the team is playing, and the food and beer are top-notch. I recently went to Bierhaus to watch Bayern Munich play in the Champions League, and I had a fantastic time. The crowd was cheering and singing, and the atmosphere was really festive. The food was also delicious, and I especially enjoyed the sausages and the pretzels. The beer selection was also great, and I tried a few new beers that I really enjoyed. Wow, this place is fantastisch! I hadnt even heard of it and we happened upon it for a quick dinner before a Yankees game. Everything is on the second floor, so youll need to walk up a flight of stairs to be greeted by the Dirndl-clad hostess. The whole place is basically a big Bierhall with German-style seating (i.e. long wooden tables with benches) and a ton of themed decor. Even the music is what true German Bierhalls play, so they knew their stuff. Theres an outdoor balcony overlooking 3rd avenue which is very neat and a corner for bands when they have live music, which I believe happens every week! We ordered a pretzel to start and a couple of schnitzels for entrees. The service was all extremely friendly and fast and the food was of course delicious, so I was sad we didnt have time for dessert before rushing off for the game. I cant wait to come back here with a group of friends, so be sure to look up if you ever pass by on 3rd and you just might see me waving from the balcony!

We ordered food and it was given to another table, which is okay, it happens, but there was no follow up from our server to make sure we got our food for about an hour.
