BONSAII Tapas & Wine Bar

What a wonderful surprise to find this gem inside our cool boutique hotel! The atmosphere and the food were both excellent! We had both lunch and breakfast because the quality was so great! Our server Juan went above and beyond for my daughter who is in a wheelchair. Highly recommend!

Cute outdoor space but the food was lacking.Garlic shrimp was average, the sweet popcorn chicken (?) was dry, salad was lackluster, the blue fin tuna was mediocre, and the flatbread (with mushrooms) was also pretty dry. Can’t recommend anything here but the vibes.Perhaps a better place for drinks?

Bonsaii is a hidden gem in midtown. I had the set tapas lunch with a friend. The food was pretty good and almost too much for me with the selection of 2 tapas plus dessert. The affogato was the highlight of the meal. What made this place so lovely was the quiet but inviting atmosphere and the service. Our server was also so nice and attentive (I think his name was Juan).

Really cool spot to take pictures, our waitress Laura was great her coworker Gio was also very lively. The music was chill and upbeat. The food was delicious but tiny bit pricey for the amount, but then again I was aware it was a tapas bar and the portions are supposed to be small. We got complementary wine glasses because we stayed at the hotel. Overall great experience will do it again.

Good food, but service and wine selection could be better.They have a list of tapas during the day, which is not the spanish tapas kind, in the sense that they were fairly big and expensive. So you wouldn’t get like 3-4 per person. One is actually enough.The wine list was quite disappointing for a “wine bar”, as they only had like 4-5 wines for each type and they were all.. alright at best.The service was also not that great, the staff was mostly talking to each other so it was super hard for us to get their attention at times.

Had an amazing time at this spot! The tapas were absolutely delicious! Perfectly portioned and full of flavor. The white sangria was also a hit, super refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. Our server, Daniel, was incredibly attentive and sweet, making sure we had everything we needed. The vibe is really chill, perfect for relaxing with good food and drinks. The chic decor just adds to the overall experience. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

Fantastic dining experience at Bonsaii! The food was absolutely delicious, and every dish we tried was a hit. Highly recommend the ceviche aguachile, roasted bravas, gambas al ajillo, sirloin sliders, burrata flatbread, and grilled octopus, they were all packed with flavor and perfectly prepared. Gio, our server, was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and made sure we had a great time. We’ll definitely be back!”

Absolutely delicious tapas, each plate was a very unique flavor, with my favorites being the ceviche and the sliders. Delicious and hard hitting drinks, and probably the best affogato I have ever had. Highly recommend.

First time here and it felt so special and secluded. Gio was the highlight of my experience. He made me feel like a valued regular. The food was yummy the drinks were so fresh and tasty. Definitely will be coming back.

Incredible tapas and ceviche! Every dish was perfect, and even the non-Spanish dishes were superb: sliders, carrot cake, affogato, and chocolate cake. Bonsaii was a vibe! We ordered a bunch of food and drinks, and everything was delicious. The chorizo sandwich was so good, and the Bonsaii meatballs were packed with flavor. I really liked the caesar too, it had a nice twist to it. Gio took amazing care of us and whipped up the best espresso martini. Definitely coming back for more!

Bonsai is a fantastic spot that I highly recommend! The pesto meatballs were tender and flavorful, and the truffle burrata was a standout—rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced.For dessert, the affogato and tres leches cake did not disappoint. The affogato was a delightful blend of espresso and gelato, while the tres leches cake was moist and full of flavor.The drinks were also great! The espresso martini was smooth and well-made, and the Bonsai Mule had a unique twist that I really enjoyed.Our server, Giovanni, was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, which made the experience even better.Overall, Bonsai is definitely worth a visit for the great food, drinks, and service!

Just arrived in NYC and WOW! What a find the Concorde Hotel is and what a find the Bondaii restaurant is. Laura was so friendly and welcoming! Great food, great atmosphere and best of all, great staff!!!!

This place is very cute! Part of it is kind of in the back of the hotel lobby, and the other part of it is in an area designed to look like a garden but is actually inside. Really liked the comfortable seats out there. The staff is really nice and were doing the best they could as they were understaffed. I ordered the shrimp tacos which were fine, I felt they could have been a bit softer, maybe if they were cooked more? It’s 6-7 pieces of shrimp and 2 soft taco shells. My friend and I shared the roasted potatoes which were delicious. She ordered the gambas al ajillo, a shrimp dish that comes in some form of a skillet with bread surrounding it. She seemed to enjoy that. She had white wine and I ordered their version of a margarita. It was fine. I didn’t love it, but I liked that it wasn’t overly sweet and seemed somewhat strong. Prices were decent, probably on par for the area.

We had the luck to come across this place and it did not disappoint! The food was incredible, we had the Lobster Sliders, Tuna Crudo, Baby back ribs and corn empanadas. Everything was cooked to PERFECTION! The place is beautiful and service was outstanding, highly recommended.

Located in the Concorde Hotel. Loved the ambiance of the indoors space which felt like outdoors bec of the murals, the furnishing and decor. There’s a step up to this area so had to lift the wheelchair; there are also tables inside if preferred. Friendly and gracious staff.Tapas so got a few to share: the sliders (3 pcs, cooked medium well); ribs (with a sweet glaze, would prefer if fall-off-the-bone tender), truffle flatbread, and gambas al ajillo (with crostinis; garlicky oil which I added onto everything else) and their flan (with sliced strawberries; light and creamy texture). Everything tasted good. Light fare. Hot Tea served in personal teapot.

Gio was one of the best waiters I’ve ever had! From the first day I stayed at the Concorde Hotel to the very last day (total of 6 days), he was always kind, helpful, and filled with positivity. His recommendations were top tier and I will never forget the experience I’ve had at Bonsaii & Concorde Hotel. Additionally, he was attentive & timely with everything. The atmosphere was very aesthetic, I have never experienced anything like this before. I ordered Bonsaii Metballs, Ceviche Tripicale, and Chai Latte! I will definitely be coming back :)

I had an amazing experience at Bonsaii! Our waitress Mabel went above and beyond to make sure our experience was pleasant. All her recommendations were a must. The food was all amazing our favorites were the flatbread burrata, meatballs, and sirloin sliders.

Food was fantastic with lots of variety and delicious flavors! Waiters were wonderful and very well sized portions for tapas. Also quite reasonably priced especially for Manhattan.

If you are looking for a nice place to eat and have a good time, Bonsaii is the right place. I love their Ceviche, the Ham and cheese croissant and the Sparkling Paradise. Also, Juan Cortes is a great server, very attentive and friendly.

First time in Bonsaii and YOU have to go! It’s a cozy little spot inside the Concorde Hotel and has amazing food. The açaí bowl with Nutella is to die for. The service was also great and I will definitely be back again soon.

Bonsaii is a decent place if you are going for a meal .Its not really a Tapas place but more of the American version of Tapas .Food is fresh and the ambience is great .We tried the Guacamole in the appetizer – nothing extraordinary but fresh .Also tried a few small dishes like Chicken Empanada ,Gambas Al Ajilio and the Portobello Truffle flatbread .Out all these the flatbread is high recommended .The Gamba lacked flavors and Empanada was pretty ordinaryIts a good place and seat and relax with a glass of wine!

The place is really nice and clean inside, have a beautiful patio. The food was really good, we got tortillas, sliders and papas bravas. The drink was really good too. We got the prosecco one. It was a little bit expensive just for tapas but its Manhattan. Juan and Daniel bring an excellent service.

This place is not a 4.8. so i have to even out the reviews with a 1 star even though it’s really a 3. Empanadas were good. Patatas Bravas were bad. Sangria is expensive but decent.

A Hidden Gem … We were greeted by our waitress Mabel, who accommodated us without reservations. ( I suggest to make reservations because the place is not too big)Our table was on the cute covered patio. All the plates we ordered, were excellent, full of flavors, and the Sangria delicious.Top notch service, ambiance and food.We had a nice tapas-type of dinner before our Broadway show and it was very satisfying.

We needed a breakfast place close before our packed day and this was perfect. It was in a hotel, but practically priced. We didnt catch the name of the server, but we were led to a back area (on a cold day but heated) that was cool and had a great vibe. Really cool area. Counter service for ordering, but the rest of the visit was served surprisingly to us. They might have served booze at the hour we were there (and probably did given their name), but we didnt ask, and just had coffee and Naked juice as we had a full day. Wife had the burrata toast and loved it. I had the salmon truffle toast and liked it, but I forgot to order the addition of the egg. I probably would have LOVED it. Actually, I probably still was on the border of love without the egg. Still a 5. My bad, and you should try THAT. Great, central place before you hit some Midtown sites, and you have a great experience, but are in and out in about 30 minutes or so (unless you booze of course). Definitely recommend and see you there (next time we are in NYC).

Bonsaii is a very cool spot hidden in the back of this hotel.My wife and I were greeted by the fabulous Gio who was tremendously welcoming and helpful.Once seated, we were served by the fantastic Reuben! Both Gio and Reuben made awesome recommendations. They were personable, fun, genuine and professional. Their energy was amazing and they were outstanding at what they do. Honestly, they made the experience wonderful.The room was decorated with a couple of cool murals and was very comfortable.The food was good. We were just looking for a bar for a drink. Found this cute little bar in a hotel in the middle of nowhere. Nice little quaint place.

Please stay away. A real low point in Manhattan eating. A $42 meat and cheese plate with 2 slices of manchego on it and a tiny drop of goat cheese. 1 strawberry and 8 paper thin slices of a sausage. The plate just looked like it was on a diet. The salad has the worst excuse for parmesan cheese Ive ever had the misfortune of eating. It was a form of plastic. I wont go further. Just avoid.

What a welcome respite!! This lovely gem is inside the Concorde Hotel. The atmosphere is luxe and cozy. The staff look out for you, welcome you, and make you feel at home. The food and drinks are on point! Every evening, we came back from gorgeous visits to the Met and MoMA and regroup, replenish ourselves with tapas, wine, and saketinis before heading out again! Really want to thank Mabel and the lovely gentleman for their care of us, you two were wonderful!!! Thank you!

Everyone should come and try this new spot in Manhattan. My perfect pair: Cafe Bonsaii + Egg & Cheese Croissant. It is to die for!

It’s in a hotel lobby and a patio, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but not that clear. Doesn’t contribute to ambience. No view except for concrete walls. I doubt many people have been here outside of hotel guests. Think at one point I asked about the reds on the menu and the server was a nice young kid but didn’t know which wines were reds. It’s a nice idea for a place but go somewhere else.

We came here for lunch attracted by the stellar reviews and were sorely disappointed by the quality of the food. One of the worst lunches I’ve had in NYC. The flatbread was burned, the patatas bravas didn’t taste like anything. The shrimp tacos were bad too. These reviews cannot be authentic. Don’t waste your money.

We picked this place for proximity. When it turned out to be in a non-description midtown hotel, I wasn’t expecting much. However the food and cocktails were very tasty. The food portions were hearty for a tapas style restaurant. And our waiter, Juan, was absolutely delightful and very attentive. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a place in that area.

Had business lunch here and it was very nice. Beautiful restaurant, airy and refreshing. We ordered tuna crudo, truffle burrata, Spanish omelette and shrimp in garlic oil. The sangria and lychee saketini were delicious.Juan was our server and super attentive. I will come back. Thank you!

We stayed at the Concorde Hotel and came to have some food in the hotel bar downstairs. OMG, the beef empanadas we had there were so delicious! Made with puff pastry and so fresh! Service was also excellent!

One of the few places open on July 4th and they did not disappoint! Our server Gio was amazing and had excellent recommendations. The food was great and the cocktails were fantastic. I would absolutely recommend the cheesecake for dessert!
