Buddha-Bar New York - Modern Asian Restaurant

Let’s start with the decor. It’s beautiful inside but the stairs are a safety hazard. The hostess will tell you to watch your step and walk slowly but it needs more lights on the staircase! Now onto the food. It’s bland and not fresh at all. We got the skirt steak and got food poisoning the day after. Our drinks took forever to come out. Our food came out before the drinks did and our food was served cold, even the steak! It was such a ridiculously overpriced experience. On top of that, the servers were so quick to jump over us to grab our plates as soon as we dropped our forks. We weren’t done yet! Report them to the health department!

I decided to go to Buddha Bar during their restaurant week. I specifically wanted to go there knowing that it is a sleek and happening restaurant with mixed reviews. Firstly, I wanted to address if the ambience is what it seems to be. The answer is, 100%. Their interior is full of tasteful black and gold hues. Most importantly, they have a beautifully decorated buddha that has stunning changing lights. Now, let’s discuss their service. Although Buddha Bar is notorious for having bad customer service, I personally experienced nothing of that sort. The most I have experienced was our drinks being delayed. However, as soon as I said something to our waiter, it was served to us right away. Also, if you want their restaurant week menu, you have to specifically ask your waiter for it. They do not initially give you the restaurant week menu. Lastly, how were their food and drinks and would it be worth going there again not during their restaurant week. The answer is yes and yes. Both the quality and taste were excellent. My two highlights were the King Salmon roll and the Serenity drink. I highly recommend this place for a sophisticated girl’s night or a fancy date night.

I’m very particular with where I dine and have a list of expectations/standards which Buddha Bar fulfilled perfectly. This is a great place for that dark and luxurious vibe, an atmosphere with keen attention to detail. Service was exceptional and my party and I were well taken care of. Drinks were just as appealing as the vibe of the restaurant. I enjoyed the appetizers more than my main, presentation however was beautiful. Taste wise, I expected more. Reccommend this to anyone who appreciates a more mature crowd.

Buddha-Bar New York is an incredible spot and one of the best in Manhattan! The food quality is outstanding, and every dish is a delight..And their cocktails - thats another piece of art. The service is amazing, with attentive staff that truly enhance your dining experience. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, and the restaurants design is simply astonishing. If youre familiar with top Ukrainian standards, youll know exactly what I mean! This place definitely deserves a 6/5 rating.Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fantastic meal in NYC!

Great atmosphere and wonderful service- nice and quick. You can come to share or order dishes. We shared crispy rice, fried noodles (my fav), pork, tofu and more. All were delicious and really enjoyed- Asian food with a fusion twist. Strongly recommend

Came here for my birthday this past Dec 14/24 Ambiance was awesome came with 3 friends that absolutely loved the food but the Sunday morning woke up to the worst belly pain,food poisoning to the fullest even my friends got it too I thought it might of been me alone cause I do have a sensitive tummy but nope! Too expensive of a place to have this problem,drinks was strong but other than that that’s all to this review.

This is a cool sexy place. Its dark inside with music playing, not party music but cool vibe music. Other reviews have raved about the service. Our server was knowledgeable very helpful and nice, but everything was so slow, from water to drinks to taking order, food came to the table out of order. The place was not crowded, which often leads to slow service but when youre paying a premium you expect good service all the time. The food was very good, we had a couple of appetizers a salad, a pork and steak dish. Again all was good, but it wasnt overwhelming. It was priced as if it was going to be amazing, it was good. I would not go back and wouldnt recommend as its not for me, but others may find the vibe so cool that its worth it to them.

A very bad experience.We ate at the restaurant a little over a month ago on our visit to New York. There was no person to greet us at the entrance and when we went downstairs, the restaurant was very dark!! We almost fell when we went down the stairs, plus you cant see what youre eating at the table.Dishes are terribly expensive and do not justify the price.One sushi roll (8 pieces) costs over 60 dollars! , the sushi is very low level and not worth the price. The rice was dry.The second dish we chose was chicken with curry and the chicken was terribly dry and not enough curry sauce.In cocktails they save on alcohol and when we asked to add some alcohol we were told that is how it is and it is not possible to add it.In short, an expensive restaurant that does not justify the price, we will not return and will not recommend to others.

I visited Buddha Bar for my 25th birthday celebration. And I had such a great time! Everything was perfect - great atmosphere, our server Diana was very helpful and attentive, the food was great quality and looked amazing. I would definitely recommend everyone this place!

The ambiance, food, and service are top notch.Ambiance: They have a gorgeous mezzanine where you can enjoy one of their signature cocktails before or after your meal. Theyre main dining area is stunning as well.Food: Dinner here is delicious. It may be a bit of a splurge, but youll enjoy high quality ingredients prepared & plated artfully. Ive tried the Wild Mushroom Fried Rice, Duck Breast, Wok Seared Scallops, and several apps and theyve all been very good. The duck breast is cooked perfectly and the truffle portion on the fried rice is generous.Service: I felt very taken care of at Buddha-Bar and received a high quality of service. Their team was friendly and attentive, it was a great experience. Thank you!

If you’re looking for a really nice low-lit ambiance flooded by great sound goodness, sharing plates and delicious cocktails, this place is for you. We recommend the fried noodles, absolutely amazing. We do have to point out that some of the plates were lacking some sort of kick to go with the place and seemed a little on the safer side. Ambiance is really great and that is what this place Aces in and should be extremely proud of. Come check it out!

I went with a good feeling and left with a good feeling, the food was so good especially the crispy noodles! The service was also really good, I really felt comfortable with Brooke who works there. She was the sweetest! Helped us when needed and had nice talks with her.

I hosted my 50th birthday dinner at Buddha Bar and my family/friends and I had a fantastic evening with tasty food/cocktails, excellent service, and sexy music!  I worked with Brooke who was very responsive and attentive with all my questions/needs and she even introduced me to a balloon vendor and a florist.  Brooke and Valeria provided me with their advice on food/drinks and set-up and our food server and bartender were friendly and accommodating!Buddha Bars private dining room is spacious and you have your own bar/bartender section, private bathrooms and private entrance, and it overall feels very VIP and exclusive.The Buddha Bar team were fantastic to work with from the start to the end, they were friendly, accommodating, and customer service oriented and I would host another dinner party at the restaurant again.  I highly recommend this establishment and I had excellent reviews from my family/friends about the food and drinks!  Thank you for making my 50th birthday dinner very memorable as I had a fantastic time!

I will say this, I didnt leave hungry, thats for sure. However, the one thing that stands out is their credit card system would not take my Chase Sapphire Reserve card for some reason. Wasnt declined but just wouldnt work at their terminal. That was the only downside. Food was good, portions are small for the money but, like I said before, didnt leave hungry. I have been wanting to go here for some time from our trip up here from Florida. Experience was great. Music, fantastic.

The food is excellent. The Roast Duck Breast with yuzu and ube was the star of the show for me. Crispy fatty skin on the outside and perfectly cooked so that its tender and juicy on the inside. The Wild Mushroom Fried Rice was also surprisingly very very good! Im not a fan of truffle foods but this dish was able to change my mind that night :)This is definitely a place to show up and show out! Come hungry and get ready to splurge a bit and have an incredible evening. Whoever you bring will be impressed with not only the food but also the decor (have you ever seen a giant glass buddha before?!?), ambiance and incredible service.

Spectacular fine dining! I came here on valentine’s day and it was super busy, we had the valentine’s day menu that came with three appetizers; three entrees; dessert; two alcoholic beverages of ur choice. The ambience and atmosphere was absolutely beautiful with the buddha statue. The food was extraordinary and very flavorful. I absolutely loved the soft shell crab bao. Overall the atmosphere made the dining experience much more enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try the regular menu options!

Food was great - lobster tempura roll especially! We shared (group of 4) Brussels sprouts, crispy noodles, & vegetable fried rice. Drinks were good - lemon drop. Service was okay - a bit slow, there was one waiter serving all tables.

Had a wonderful time! Crab bao buns and sushi were fantastic! Service was quick but not rushed. Drinks were well made and the Mandarin Dessert is a must try! Definitely a place you have to visit while in NYC. Beautiful ambiance as well, make sure to get a picture in front of the Buddha sculpture!!

I had an amazing experience with one of the servers. Her name is Brooke and she was extremely helpful and sweet! She honestly made the experience worth 5 stars. We got help with what to order and she also recommended a very delicious dish. At one point, she took the time to sit down and have a wholesome chat with us. It is rare to encounter such amazing service, and she deserves recognition for her outstanding hospitality.

Inconsistent food and highly likely chance of getting food poisoning! This place needs to be reported to the health department. Ordered the steak and it came out cold. You can’t serve a medium steak cold. It gave us food poisoning. Also got two orders of brussel sprouts and one was unseasoned and the other was sooo salty - how can it be this inconsistent?! Lastly, I watched a waitress try to pass the dish to the other side of the table by putting her who thumb in the food… unsanitary! These positive reviews all have to be fake. Expensive and not worth it at all!

Without a doubt: The worst food I have ever eaten in NYC the past 2 years. Crap food, extremely overpriced!! Waiter took years to come and did not like his attitude at all, after that we had a very nice friendly woman. 20% gratitude is included. First time in my ENTIRE life I did not leave an extra tip. Would not eat here, even if I could eat here for life for free!! Nice budda and decor!

This review is only for the bar area. We had eaten in the area and wanted a place to relax. They had a DJ by the bar. It was club music with no words. The DJ did a great job. The bartender knew how to do her job. My Polynesian was delicious and strong. I thought it was well worth its price. MyHusband said his old fashion was properly made. It was a great night. I would come back just to relax in this bar area.

Been there on Monday night for my friends birthday dinner. The decor inside is so incredible, chic and cozy. I was really impressed and couldn’t get enough enjoying the vibes. Drink is really good and well decorated. I’m not very into their food, so we just ordered appetizer, drink and dessert.Service is also excellent, friendly and helpful.I put 4 stars because of the hostess, the lady is pretty rude to our group.

Very beautiful decor and atmosphere. Food and drinks were amazing. It was not busy when we went, just a few tables of couples and two groups of no more than 10 each. Waitstaff was extremely nice but we had a small hiccup with a reservation and our second round of drinks came out a little slow.

Came here for my friend’s birthday dinner. Our reservation was at 8:30pm and they seated us at 9:30pm, but gave us a round of drinks, shots and sushi to compensate for having us wait. The food was excellent and so were the drinks! We also really enjoyed the atmosphere at this restaurant. It’s very stylish and definitely on the dressier side. I would go again

I was there on Wednesday for my friends bday dinner. This place is beautiful, the decor It’s a very nice, the drink was so good. I love their sushi selection was good. I order the Lynchee Martini, King Salmón, California Roll, I’m not sure about the exact name but it was a sushi with Truffle (OMG MY FAVORITE) Kimchi & Shrimp Fried Rice. We really enjoy our night everyone was very nice and attentive to our table.

All I have to say is WOW. This place was truly an experience and worth the money. The sushi was so fresh and the ambiance was amazing. They took such good care of us and made it such a perfect memory! Thank you Buddha Bar!! We will be back!!

I LOVE this place for the vibe and the beautiful Buddha brings the zen .. I see negative reviews but honestly this is an upscale Asian fusion restaurant located in an expensive zip code tribeca and the experience lives upto the 💲.. they have excellent cocktails. Loved the matcha 🍵 twist on serenity. I have been here twice and loved it. The shishitos were v v good. The roasted cauliflower was exceptional. Our friend ordered roast duck and loved it. Maitake bao bun was a new thing I tried. Last was dessert do it miss the mandarin it’s sooo perfect and looks exactly like a mandarin..I recommend this place for special occasions or even casual business dinners.

I am giving one star just for the wait time. We made a reservation for a party of five, including a toddler, for 8:30 p.m., but we weren’t seated until 9:30 p.m. I’m pregnant and have a toddler, so I made the reservation specifically to be seated on time. Will the restaurant still honor us if we walk in late, or will they charge us or refuse service if we don’t arrive on time?The food was amazing, but the service was disappointing. There was no one available to take our order or refill our water. My husband is a regular here and always speaks highly of the place, but we definitely regret coming today. I also felt the restaurant may be biased toward the white crowd—there were people who walked in after us without a reservation and got seated before us(we had a reservation)I also saw them being treated well at the table. People who got seated after us were served everything on time.As a New Yorker and foodie, I’ve never had this experience at any other restaurant in the city.

First for the positives. It’s a great place with an amazing ambience! Not surprising that it is featured in several TV shows. The entrance from the street is pretty nondescript, but that gives it a sense of mystery. I love it when you enter and you don’t get to see everything inside. The restaurant has the dark and cozy atmosphere at the same time keeping it open and giving a fun atmosphere. The glass Buddha is certainly the show point. Tables are nicely, arranged, allowing different size parties to be seated.The food was unique and caters to all including vegetarians with good number of options. the drinks were well done and not watered down. It is an expensive place, but you do get what you pay for!The only negative I had was about the service. Our waitress was very kind and sweet. But despite the fact, they were barely 2 or three parties in the entire restaurant, the service appeared to be lacking attention. We had requested Jasmine rice along with our Mapo tofu, but it was forgotten. When we asked for it, it was forgotten again to the point that our dish got cold and we had to request it to be reheated. I had mentioned that I was bringing my wife there for her birthday. It seemed they took notice of the fact as when I reached out to our waitress discreetly and asked her if we could do something special. She immediately informed me that she knew of that and that she “will take care of it. “ I assumed, like most of the restaurants, that they will bring out a desert or something to that effect at the end but they completely forgot about it or did not care for it as we did not order a desert. Of course I’m not looking for a handout and would have been more than happy to pay for the desert, but saying that you “will take care of it “and not doing anything kind of defeated the purpose. It’s a small gripe, but they have to understand people are coming in for special occasions and especially mentioning it that they have to give additional attention. If they needed to clarify what my expectation was , it would have been totally OK. Again, I’m not blaming them and perhaps I could have also clearly asked them to bring a desert at my cost but make it a surprise. It would have been easier but most other restaurants when they say they will “take care of “we assume they will. Again, it is not the expense but the experience.Irrespective overall I would say it is a good place to go and may consider returning.***Update:As requested in the response from the owner below, I did send an email but did not receive any further reply. I’m not sure if this is a standard response given to all reviews with criticism to give an impression that they care but it doesn’t really look like they intend to follow up.

Buddha Bar NYC is the place to be!🔥Absolutely astonishing setting. It’s dark and colorful at the same time. I loved the entrance it’s so mysterious until you reach the Main Dining Room. There is a huge Buddha that is covered in a light show! Absolutely breathtaking to sit down and dine in. Let’s not forget to mention the amazing Dj that comes Friday and Saturdays at 8pm. If you’re looking for a funky trip around the Buddhas world this is the place to be ! I ordered the Soft Shell Crab Bao Bun with a Glass of Merlot the Crab was so juicy and fresh! The slaw and sauce complimented the meat so well the bao bun it’s self was a great balance on the tongue. I would recommend white wine with the crab tho🔥 they have an amazing list of wines. My server was Paulino and he was an absolute expert! He answered all of my questions and gave me a superb service.Looking forward to dine in with a full course next time 🔥. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the service was great. The only drawback was the price-point. While the drinks are excellent I found myself disappointed with the food considering the price. To be fair, I went when they had just reopened and I need to eat gluten-free. Sadly, I don’t recall them having an extensive gluten free menu so I was limited in what I could enjoy. It’s worth checking out and I hope to go again in the future for drinks.

The vibe is definitely great with Buddha Bar music. Weve been to the Paris one, and just need to try out the New York one. The food is ok. We loved the toro tartar, but kind of regretted order Szechuan Style Tomahawk Ribeye, which took too long (around 40~50 minutes wait), and we didnt think it was worth the value.

Went here for my birthday dinner. 2/25. The reason I give 4 stars is because the hostess (blonde lady) was not very welcoming/uninviting. As someone who gives first impression to a customer, she needs to work on that. The service however, was great! We had a little confusion between lamb chops/lamb shank and the waiter and manager(?) were so kind and fixed it expeditiously! The food was a 7/10, not amazing but definitely good! A little bland but not completely lacking taste. We got the Bass Bao Buns, Lobster Tempura Roll, Seared Scallops, & Lamb Chops. The portion sizes were quite small, the main plate of scallops I got was the size of an appetizer. The cocktails were amazing, true mixology. We got Lychee Martinis, Old Fashion, & Million $ Man. This is more of a Tapas restaurant (ordering a bunch of small plates and sharing with the table). Overall I’d say the restaurant is an 8/10, great service, beautiful designs/decor, good food and ok price. Spent about $150 per person.

I was in the area with the client all day and Drinks at the bar after long day with couple bites were just what I needed. Not loud, organized, very friendly bartender, he knew his drinks very well. Old Fashion is one classic drink but can be done in many different ways, mine tasted just like I ordered. I would like to see a little more people around just for atmosphere, but fair to say I was there in early time too.

The place get enough hype in social media so I decided to check it out myself. Lets start with good things. The interior, ambiance and bar with their drink menu is top notch, without any doubts! But what comes to the dinner part specifically to the food here are some problems. Let me put in this way - the taste is average at best... but you cant say the same about the price, it is well above average! Duck and fuagra dumplings will cost you $20 just for 3 pieces! In other words you have Zuma price for the diner food. The only thing was worth the attention was boneless whole Amish chicken and their deserts. Also when they switched the plates they didnt clean the table. So, my conclusion I will be back there for mingling and drinks but not for dinner for sure.

Second time back here, but this time was for their 2023 nyc winter restaurant week since they’re participating in the $60 3-course/person dinner (call to confirm or check website which days the restaurant week menu is valid for). The items that I ordered was amazing and met expectations like the first time I visited. Luckily, I went there a little hungry or else I probably would not have been able to finish the 3 courses. I think the price person greatly varies between what you order and how much you can eat/drink. Keep in mind, this place caters to those who are willing to spend more to dine (i.e. corporate people/execs & etc).

The place is absolutely beautiful and so is the ambience.The food is on point as well.However, please note that this place has extremely long wait times despite the reservations. I have visited Buddha Bar half a dozen times already and every single time (except my last visit), I have had to wait for 45 minutes to an hour.The hosts on average are also not the kindest and most hospitable.My last visit, a week ago, was going to be a similar one when I was told that my table wont be ready for 30-35 minutes despite my on-time arrival. This led me to have a concerning conversation with the Hostess with whom I shared about me last experiences there. She was kind enought to accommodate us within 15 minutes and also extended apologies for my past experiences with awfully long wait times.Please be aware that the great experience might come at the expense of some long wait times and if thats not a concern for you, this place would be a charmer.

I’ve never written a review but my friend and I dined here on a whim and were so disappointed in our experience.The front door, entryway, and decor are absolutely beautiful. We ordered Toro Tartare with caviar, a skirt steak, a side of shishito peppers, and two cocktails. When the Tartare arrived it was a small layer of caviar on top, a small layer of tuna on the bottom, and a thick layer of avocado in between. The menu doesn’t mention any avocado for this dish, it felt like a filler for a price point of $59. Our steak arrived over an hour later despite being one of maybe four tables present and finishing our appetizer a long time in advance. It was cold to the touch when it reached the table, the flavor was good. The shishito peppers arrived with the steak and were hot and delicious.When we informed the server our steak was cold, he said he didn’t know why because he just received it from the kitchen. After seeing him speak with management, he informed us the kitchen was closed but he’d remove it from our bill. After waiting so long, this was not ideal. The steak could’ve been corrected had there been attentive service. Additionally, water was never refilled despite our long stay and empty glass.Management was on their laptop/phone by the bar most of the time. After the server spoke with them, the manager walked by, looked at the uneaten steak, and didn’t touch the table or speak with us, which reflected very poorly. They left a note on our bill stating we “didn’t like” the steak. As service industry workers, we found this to be tacky. The drinks we ordered were okay.This restaurant is a very beautiful shell with a lot of potential and seemingly poor management. Save yourself the trip unless you’re having a quick cocktail and photo op.

Wow everything was amazing! My first time there, I don’t usually go to Tribeca, but it was worth the ride. Great food, amazing service, incredible ambiance. I will for sure come back again

I am a big fan of the brand. I have been to the Orginal Buddha bar in Paris 8 times in 20 years. I have become friends with DJ Ravin. Used to go to one they had in Meat packing district many times. I am here for the first time. Beautiful deco and bar. Love it. Food was great. But pricey. Wine list, cheapest bottle is around $160. You have to have few bottles in the $100 range. Wait staff is too aggressive. You order $200 bottle of wine, then they try to over pour it and take the bottle away. Then we order the second bottle. They do the same. I put the hand on top of my glass 3 times to say NO. Top of that we still have food on the table not finished. One after the other asking whether we are done. Every time they come we have to stop and say, we are still working on it. I blame the management for these kinds of things. Send them to Paris to teach them. How to approach the table without disturbing a conversation. I am a long time restaurant owner in Manhattan. I take service very seriously. If you are charging top dollar your service should be top notch too. I will be back. Hopefully they will clean up these issues.Dont order duck - its pretty lame duck.Order lamb shank, skirt steak or halibut.

Was at the original Buddha-Bar in Paris this past October 2023. NYC version is a poor sad unorganized failure!! We ordered Cosmopolitans and received Mojitos after waiting 20 minute before being approached by the waiter. Water????? Might as well be the Sahara. After all said and done the whole meal and drinks were comped!!! We got the feeling get out your bad for business, but their the HOT MESS. Staff training would be a 2024 resolution to start.

Experiencing the sushi dishes at Buddha Bar NYC was an absolute game-changer for a great Asian-fusion meal in the city. The tunas freshness was unmatched, it simply was the best fish Ive ever tasted. Boooo-ddha bar is what this place should be called. I was at the original restaurant in Paris in October and was looking forward to a repeat of that fantastic experience there, here at home for Christmas. Thats not what happened. Ordered a Cosmo and got a Mojito! Sent it back and had to ask for water while waiting for my cocktail to come back. This set the tone for the rest of the meal. It wasnt going well at all and even the waiter noticed we were not enjoying our meal or experience and ended up comping our entire bill. We left hungry and disappointed.

I think it’s overpriced and overrated but the lobster tartare was amazing. We had like five or six different cocktails and none of them were worth a second one. My friend loved the mushroom truffle fried rice but I honestly didn’t. The sushi and nigiri were good but for the price I would go somewhere else.

Highly recommend Buddha-Bar. The food is incredible, the cocktails are perfect, and the servers are so friendly and welcoming. It’s a great place for a special night out.

The oysters weee HORRIBLE ! Not fresh at all & you could taste the sand in them . Caviar wasn’t fresh either .. other food items such as the rice and scallops were good. Can’t believe how disgusting and pricey the oysters were. Drove two hours to be dissatisfied..( they reply with an email to show courtesy& I email them to be ignored).

Our guests are still talking about it.. not a traditional wedding venue, but the Buddha bar team really came thru for our guests. Love this place and love the team!

Food was decent. Loved the wild mushroom fried rice and Korean fried chicken. The service wasn’t as I expected it to be. The waiter missed orders and added items on the bill that were never brought to the table. The manager though was super professional and she was very helpful. Would recommend the desserts!

Im an industry person myself, i overlook hospitality business from professional stand point and also very fair. I have to say after pandemic service everywhere, well at least in NYC, is just really not the same. Here our waiter here actually asked us about our allergy or dietary restrictions, which i have, ahead of recommending anything. That along got me into a safe dining experience. AND after placing the order, he actually came over multiple times to check how i like everything with all my dishes being adjusted on No sauce and No marinade. That is service. I dont really get why people complain about the cost, i expect people who count the spend dont really walk into the dining room in Hight End Restaurant without checking the menu ahead of time, but again, maybe this just my processional screw. As a suggestion, again professional, i would simply raise $$$ sign on google to cut off potential too expensive clientele. Sushi was really fresh and tasty. My Steak was simple, as far as i could not have it at original prep style, but good, shishitos are just always a win for me. My husbands had Amish chicken for main, big part of that one we took to go to finish the next day) Ambiance is pleasant. Music is good. There are some pieces they have to work on, but for the caliber the are, oh they covering very clean. And i really hope they raise $$$ sign. I genuinely wish them success. And for sushi-im coming back

This place is definitely an experience. From the ambiance to the food, its all a vibe. We ordered so much and still ate every bite. A couple to our left ordered the Fried Snapper which is a visual display in itself, so much so that we decided to order the same. Along with that we ordered the grilled octopus, the yellowtail sashimi and the live scallop (which is one lonely scallop btw).This is the perfect spot for a date night, girls night out or a special occasion. Very low light (not great for pics), music low enough to talk, and great service. It seemed like they had employed someone for every single part of the service.Would I come again? Absolutely! As I continue to explore NYC, this one will definitely be at the top of my list until further notice.

We had dinner at Buddha Bar Restaurant NY on a Wednesday night, it wasnt too crowded. We loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, and the food was delicious and attractively presented.

Its a beautiful ambiance, but food and drinks for the money compared to other places were okay. We had order cocktails, a couple of wine bottles, and beers. Food most of the small plates to share. Our group had many vegetarians. All of us agreed its okay nothing out of the world to wow us.

What Can I say? Aside from I loved the whole experience. I was greeted by a gorgeous at the host stand and escorted to my table and the room was breathtaking. The food was really great from starters to desserts. I can’t wait to have my next visit! elite experience

Beautiful spot. No expense spared on decor and ambiance.Food is lackluster. For the price food experience should be top notch. A birthday dinner for a friend left me underwhelmed and annoyed. I want ALL dishes to be PERFECT. Cocktails were great to me but the apps and mains were hit or miss. Snapper is a must. Presentation alone is wonderful….taste is on point. It was downhill from there for me. Skirt steak is very nope…as are crispy scallion noodles and wild mushroom fried rice….lamb shank may be good but it came out lukewarm and totally spoiled the experience….its a restaurant and NOBODY WANT WARM FOOD. My steak and noodles were warm as well…almost cold. The only hot dish was the crab noodles. Kale/napa salad was overwhelmed with dressings…definitely not a healthy salad…and not particularly tasty. I ordered my steak very well done and it was not. Beyond annoying. I don’t eat pink meat. There were two steak orders and although we asked waiter if mine was well done (to which he said both are) it was not. A day too late I found out a dinner mate in fact had my well done order…annoying when waiter assured me the plate in front of me was well done. I asked as did my friend as he knows how much I do not do pink meat. Its very dark so seeing your food clearly is another nope.If I pay a lot for a meal it should be perfection. Dinner here was not. Even the Korean fried chicken was very basic at 29.00 for 3 small pieces…..my steak was raw and just not good…packed it up and broiled it to my liking the next day…flavor still wasnt there….the mango dessert was tasty tho…so I would possibly return for snapper, kiwi cocktail and mango dessert which was hitting. And ambiance.Maybe.I told a host about the warm food and he said he would keep it in mind but didn’t even extend an apology. That was a huge turnoff. Have grace and apologize for shortcomings on such a basic expectation.I may return but I’m certainly not in a rush…especially when they have suck lackluster performance while charging 120.00 for the only dish I want. Zero desire to roll the dice. Let the food be as perfect as the ambiance.And if a client says well done dont put pink meat in front if them. I don’t care how most eat steak…I don’t like any raw meat. Full stop.Pics show the meat served to me….and how easy it was to simply broil it longer as I did at home…still was very meh…tasteless and gummy.

Unbelievable restaurant. The ambiance/decor is top notch and staff is extraordinarily accommodating and nice. Awesome cocktails, food, and desserts. From the sushi, I loved the toro selection, spicy tuna with black caviar roll, and California roll (made w real king crab). The duck breast and wagyu skirt steak were unbelievable too. Must try the truffle fried rice. Coconut cheesecake was delectable. 10/10 experience beginning to end, highly recommend!

Overall the food and the atmosphere was great! The service not so much. Whole the hosts were super friendly and did their best to get us seated right away, our server Mark didn’t take our my friend’s allergy seriously which ended in some of our party leaving after having just ONE bite due to an allergic reaction. Other than that we ended up talking to the host which were the only ones really on top of helping the guests. BIG SHOUT OUT to whoever was hosting last night?!

I’ve dined here on two occasions. One was in the main dining area the other was for my birthday party in one of the private rooms. Booking the private room was simple and Benjamin was helpful in helping me book the room. I feel Buddha bar went above and beyond to make my party great especially on a busy Saturday night. The staff has always been stellar here from the bouncer to the waitress staff, in my experience. Food is always superb. The drinks are pretty good. I plan on returning

I had dinner at this place with my friends, food was amazing, our server Diana was very attentive and friendly, she really made the night memorable. I would definitely recommend to visit this restaurant and will come back because the whole experience overall was top-notch!!!

Got to check out Buddha Bar in NYC this past week - big family style sharing type of restaurant. My highlights were the soft shell crab bao bun, duck & foie gras dumplings and my absolute favorite was the duck.

Overall experience is 9/10. The service was nice. Our server was very kind and helpful. The food was delicious, although I am vegetarian, and presentation was nice. My boyfriend loved everything he ordered and he is not a vegetarian. The interior design was beautiful. Definitely recommend coming here.

Buddha-Bar New York is my go-to spot for celebrations. The food is always excellent, and the service is warm and professional. The whole place has a vibe that makes you feel like you’re in another world.

Ambiance and service were great. The food came very quickly at the beginning, Ceviche, spring rolls and octopus, then there was a long wait for the sushi, BBNY was ok not worth the price tag, lobster tempura roll was good. Server was nice enough to cancel the Korean chicken because we were already full. Pistachio dessert was perfect, drinks were very good. Will come back.

We have been waiting 45 minutes for a waiter to come by. There seems to only be one waiter and one bartender which seems to be odd. The bartender also doesn’t seem to know what he is doing. It took an additional 20+ minutes to get our drink after our food had come out. If you can’t staff your restaurant and offer exceptional service, you probably shouldn’t open at all. I suggest you stick to weekends and fix your staffing issue.

I had the best Lychee Martini of my life at Buddha bar. The balance of flavors was perfect, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of tartness. Each sip was incredibly refreshing and smooth. The rest of the drink menu was equally impressive, with a variety of expertly crafted cocktails that showcased the bartenders creativity and skill. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend Buddha bar for anyone looking to enjoy excellent drinks in a great setting. Five stars!

We were looking for a intimate place that matches our vibe to celebrate my birthday. Just a few weeks opened, I found this place. When we first entered we were breathless by the design and atmosphere of the place. Taking a few flight of stairs down, you find your self in front of a huge marble like Buddha statue. The place looks very cultural but modern, and flawlessly chic. The service was amazing and extremely friendly. We were a group of 4 so we had multiple shareable plates and food to compliment our drinks. The experience of the foods coming out seamlessly and properly scheduled, right after the other was finished, made our night go very smooth. Their bottle selection was fabulous and rich. Atmosphere was great, food was mediocre. We waited 30 mins past our reservation time just to get seated, took another 30 mins for them to bring out our appetizers. Idk why it took them 30 mins to bring out raw oysters. 5 oysters w caviar was honestly horrible (flavorless) for $44. The toro sushi roll was also flavorless. We waited another 30 for our main dishes to come out. Not worth the hype. No pics for main dishes bc we still waiting for them.Edit: Finally got our main dish at 10:30PM when our res was at 8:30PM. Wagyu steak had korean marinated galbi flavor. And it tasted like charcoal (burnt).

Service was top-notch. Food was amazing. They have a great vegetarian option as well. It’s an absolute must-visit if you are in NY. Will visit AGAIN.

I would like to start by saying I wish I could give this more stars. The effort that went into designing this place is absolutely amazing. The ambiance is perfect. The decor is beautiful. I loved the bar. The staff is so friendly and were so attentive. Now the bad news...The food I ordered was mediocre in flavor. The duck dumplings were dry inside. The mushroom bao bun was good. And I found the red snapper to be a little bland. Add insult to injury with the prices for mediocre food. Im hoping I ordered wrong but at that price point there are better places to eat.

The space inside this location is massive with a huge Buddha at the center. The food was decent. We were told by the waitress that everything on the menu was meant “to share”. We assumed large portions, well, we were wrong. The menu options is large but the portions are small. For appetizers we ordered a salad & sushi and for the main course we ordered lamb chops & chicken kebob. Somehow we got the main course first and the sushi came way after we were done with the main course, strange & frustrating ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the inconvenience and not paying attention to details but the sushi was fresh & delicious! The drinks were definitely on point. Shoutout to the talented bartender at the bar on the top floor! He definitely deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall, loved the energy, decor & ambiance. Definitely would go back!

The restaurant is very pretty but the food was really bad and expensive. The drinks were okay. Service bad as well. The chicken was raw, I ordered the wagyi steak and tasted burnt but it wasn’t well done. Definitely not coming back. Really bad costumer service.

Very disappointing. We originally chose this place because on the website they have a tasting menu, but it was not available. The food was not very good at all, mediocre at best. Definitely not worth even half the price of what we paid. The drinks were good however and the service was good but not above and beyond. I also did like the atmosphere. But if you’re looking for a spot to have a great meal, this is definitely not it.

Awesome place, great aura, very high ceiling. Music is also great not very loud, you can hear each other and the genre is very house alike. Cocktails, sushis, sashimis, tartares were the best I’ve ever had.

The Yellowtail was fire but wagyu steak was 50/50… definitely will go back with preferences… easily a hot spot for NYC summer nights.side note: don’t be late, 15 minute grace period only.. you will have to wait an hour PLUS or be seated at the sushi bar which is not half bad but I know restaurant goers spending $200+ on dinner will not want to be seated anywhere but where they originally reserved to be.

BEWARE ! Most bizarre restaurant experience ever. Staff is rude no one greets you as you walk in, they completely ignore you. I had to almost chase a staff member in order to ask about a reservation. Our reservation was for 8:45 we were not seated until after 10PM. THIS SEEMS NORMAL here. Everyone who walked in was upset they were told to wait over an hour even though they had a reservation. So just prepare yourself.Our orders were taken quickly but the food AND DRINKS weren’t brought to our table until 45 MINUTES LATER. Our original waiter was nice but she never returned to our table for the rest of our dinner, so anytime we wanted to order something else we had to get up and ask random staff to take our order. Our 2nd round of drinks took another 35 minutes.THEN AS WERE EATING THE LIGHTS GO OUT! I could not believe my eyes the entire restaurant went dark. With no explanation the lights were back on and the night continued.The food was okay. Drinks were okay. The steak was really good. Not worth $70 but I understand. Decor was beautiful. But SERVICE IS SERIOUSLY LACKING FOR AN UPSCALE NEW YORK RESTAURANT. Please do not waste your time here. I’m not sure if they are just disorganized or if they are purposely letting guest make reservations without really having the availability. Or Understaffed. But the night was a MESS.TAO, LAVO, BUDDAKAN, QUALITY ITALIAN, NOBU, PHILIPEE CHOW are restaurants with similar vibes and 1000% better service. First and last time coming here, im disappointed for falling into the hype about this place. Extremely overpriced and overrated.

I loved the DJ she was so fun! The upstairs is kind of empty and the downstairs is fun. The space is beautiful and the staff is really nice. I thought the food was really good but I just thought it didn’t need to be as expensive as it was. But other than that I had a great time.

Nice surroundings. Deasent food. Too loud music ruined the experience. The music is a part of it, but when it gets to the point where conversation is almost impossible, it is not ok. We also had a pretty early seating (7 pm) so no need to pump up the volume on a too early stage of the evening I suppose.. Had to wait a long time for the wine after the first course was served (had to rimind the waitress). On this price level I expect better.

My table was ready on time and the staff was very polite and nice.Sushi, salad and drinks was good only my lamb chops was over cooked.They use Aesop hand soap in the restrooms it was plus.Desserts was phenomenal.

The food was okay, not quite worth the price. My vegan restrictions were accommodated, which was nice.

Above average prices for below average food.Came here to celebrate my bf birthday. Saw the reviews and thought i give it a try. Prices in my opinion overpriced for the quality of food. Drinks are over 20 which is expected in NYC, Food also overpriced but quality and taste was lacking. Very disappointed. Ambiance great but music too loud. Would not recommend.

Its an classic upscale vibe bar and restaurant great place for Date the ambience is pretty insta worthy we went there for drinks and they have bar upstairs with light music and DJ (Weekends) must try their speciality cocktails.

The original Buddha-Bar was a club with a restaurant, this is only a restaurant. They did a great job reinventing it and it has great ambience and food. Creative and delicious dishes. The Mandarin dessert was the highlight.

This was a great experience expect the 1 hour and 20mins wait. We had a reservation for 9:30pm, but we were running 15mins late. We tried to contact the restaurant multiple times with no response. That number they have on their website is pointless. For that long of a wait they should of offered a complimentary drink. The food was alright but overpriced, but the drinks were a 10/10.

Celebrated my sisters bday on sept 27th unfortunately she got burnt and her dress damaged because they failed to secure the bday candle onto the plate. Not sure what exactly they were trying to prove by placing a candle by itself onto the plate. Hard to picture I know. Pls see pic below. Didnt realize the damage to the black dress until she was in a well lite room. She notified the waiter that her finger was burnt and suggested they must have a first aide kit in the kitchen. They brought out a cooling gel. The following day it was red and super tender. No one from upper management came to table that evening showing any sympathy. I emailed the restaurant several times to express my concern about the stand alone candle and no one caring that she was burnt. Asked for someone to get back to me to discuss. They caused discomfort and disappointment for what was suppose to be a divine evening. I have yet to receive a response from restaurants management.Ps..may i add the food was not great.

What more can i say best of the best, great atmosphere,service and even better food.Definitely a spot i would come to again and again and not get bored

Buddha bar in NYC was a divine experience. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were blown away. The decor was incredible, the glass Buddha was a show stopper( we took at least 20 pics in front of it)! The food was next level, the sushi was insane. All of the apps were delicious & the rack of lamb was perfect. We honestly had an amazing time. The service was great & the drinks were yummy!!! We will be back for sure

This has been one of my staples in NYC for years now. Unbelievable selection of food that makes your mouth water when the server brings it out. The service is excellent and very attentive to my allergies. The atmosphere provides a nice ambience that provides a both relaxing yet social environment. I would recommend this place every day of the week.

Had a wonderful experience recently! Our reservation was ready with no wait and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was impeccable, fresh and flavorful from the sushi to the steak. Make sure to have the Mandarin desert 10/10!! Will definitely be back!

I don’t know what to think. It was a very hot day and we were upstairs and it was hot up there, we were melting. The spicy drink was very spicy. I couldn’t drink it and I love spicy drinks.. The other drinks were OK. Didn’t get much of a buzz… and on top of that we got served warm sushi…. I was nervous praying that I wasn’t going to get sick once I got home. Never doing that again though…. Nice ambience at least. The sushi did taste good.

Nice restaurant with good staff and ambiance. A bit tooo expensive for the place. Location is rather difficult.

Would have been great to eat here considering we paid $50 to reserve a table. We have been in line for 30 minutes past our reservation time and still haven’t been able to check in. There are about 30-40 people simply waiting to check in and the hostess keeps leaving. Hopefully this is a lesson for them in the future to not bother placing slots for bookings when they can’t handle the number who book. The hostess just yelled at everyone in the front saying no one will get a table until 10pm. Our reservation was at 8.I will be demanding my $50 back.

Its a swanky, sceney fun spot for a group/celebration. The food is good. Its much better than I thought it would be because usually spots like these have poor food. However - BB food was good. The bao buns, mushroom rice and baked Alaska were all showstoppers. Highly recommend all 3Service was great and they accommodated the needs of our group very well.Its a vibe without being cheesy. Its sexy, elegant, the music is ofc amazing and the crowd was great. I would come back for a big celebratory night.

Although it’s physically lacking a bit of atmosphere and a the grandiose feeling of the previous era of Buddha bars where you would walk-in to a huge Retaurant having the the big a Buddha as a monument, the place is nice and they have a very nice French manager that’s very welcoming. Food is good.

This place can’t get any better. Phenomenal atmosphere, friendly knowledgeable staff, decadent cuisine (best halibut I’ve ever had), and super chill vibes. Amazing club type music playing in surround sound, super sexy vibes for sure. Drinks were also top notch.

Was there for my birthday last night. The atmosphere is on point, and the food is exquisite with all courses served being absolutely fantastic. The place really gives off a vibe like no other. The DJ was great as well, the songs played really added another level to the experience in combined with the restaurants atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant is just a masterpiece, you can tell that whoever created it really paid attention to every detail, and the chef reciprocates this with the food, as it also is all in the details of the food, not just the amazing quality of it all.

If I could give this zero stars I would. Horrific service both front desk and management. My husband and I had a Reservation for 815, wound up leaving over an hour later because the hostess kept telling us there was no space for us and they didn’t have any tables - meanwhile on open table it was still accepting reservations every 15 minutes. CLOSE RESERVATIONS if you can not accommodate and don’t take my cc info to hold a res in case I’m 15 minutes late you charge me?? But then keep me waiting over an hour and tell me you don’t have any tables?? What a joke. Then I asked for the manager multiple times and he was never sent over and the final time I asked the hostess literally rolled her eyes at me and pointed and said that’s the manger over there go talk to him yourself. What?? Is that a joke? We literally walked out after waiting for over an HOUR and I told the front desk we were leaving out of courtesy and they literally had nothing to say for themselves. I had previously been here a few times and thought the food and drinks were wildly over priced for the mediocrity they presented and the service was extremely slow. The only silver lining is the bar tender offered us a free drink when he heard we had a reservation and were still waiting over an hour later. We went to buddakan instead and had the best dinner.

I celebrated my 40th birthday @ Buddha-Bar over last weekend. I must say it was great! I chose to be upstairs so it would be private and not totally sit down. Both cocktails and food were amazing. Every single guest of mine has commented on the food. The ambience and music were great. The staff were great and very attentive.A separate thank you to Brooke, who organized and prepared it all with 0 effort on my part! Communication with her was very easy and effective.I am hoping to come back for another event.

I went to Buddha Bar with a client and it was exceptional. The food, the service and the vibe were all exactly what I was looking for. I would definitely come back here.

I had to impress 2 new investors and I was recommended the Buddha-Bar. The experience, service and food were outstanding. Make sure to reserve because it is always full. The flavors were rich, the variety of dishes was just on point and the service was very respectful, professional and our server went off his way to make sure we had a great experience. I was impressed by the interior design. Highly recommended. The thing that got me was that on my way out I overheard a couple leaving after their meal and the woman said to the man she was with If you ever want to ask me to marry you, do it here the man laughed nervously.

Would definitely come here again to try more items! We went here for restaurant weeks and had the Yellowtail jalapeño, hamachi with crispy rice, skirt steak, and halibut.The entrees were a little small and our favorites were the appetizers/small plates. Still everything was good! We also ordered the King Crab and Uni noodles and that was very very tasty with a little kick.Our waitress Josef was amazing and so kind! She was very attentive and always cleaned the table when we accidentally dropped bits of food.Atmosphere wise, it’s pretty nice in the restaurant. However I did wish they turned down the music a little more.Other than that, we had a great time and would come here again!

The quality of the food has deteriorated over the years, and sadly this was our last trip here. The staff, although friendly, has no knowlwdge about the menu and gave us misleading information. Drinks are very subpar for the money they charge. It used to be a nice venue, but its way past its prime.

The service was great; everyone was so nice and attentive. But the food was not what we were expecting. We did not like the flavor of the lamb chop or the fried chicken. It could be because we are not used to those flavors? I dont know but we did not like it. The only thing I did like was the tofu soup. It was different but I honestly would not try again. We may go for desserts and drinks since the environment/the view was very nice

Buddha Bar is a great place for a date, but recently, I was at the restaurant with my family, and we also had a great time. The menu offers a variety of dishes that you can order and share. The duck is simply out of this world, and the truffle rice is the perfect dish to share. I also really like the sushi; the fish is always super fresh. One downside might be that the prices seem high, but when we received the bill and divided it among the five of us, it turned out to be similar to an average restaurant in New York. In summary, its the most beautiful restaurant with a diverse menu, good quality, and its perfect for celebrations and dates. I almost forgot to mention the passion fruit cocktails - they are a must-try.

The restaurant overall is so worth going to; the service, the drinks, the food, the music is amazing! Last night I listened to the best music ever and even got up and danced after dinner. The Dj, Johnny DaMix was the highlight of the night! People were actually dancing and having fun!

What a horrific job did this restaurant do on Valentines Day. Overbooked beyond belief and letting guests stay at their tables beyond their reserved time period like it’s clearly stated in the reservation. I was one of the many with a reservation who sat for over an hour to be seated. The only thing is that when people had started to get up from their tables, they told me how underwhelming the meal was. Food was cold, flavor was ok and dishes tasted like they were sitting in the kitchen forever. That was the final nail in the coffin so my partner and I left. What an absolute joke this place is.

Great vibes, so many delicious options and beautifully decorated space. Recommend for date night, girls get together or whatever honestly.

Visiting with friends and found this place, had good food/drinks and lots of fun people, has a nice atmosphere to it.
