Cozy spot with an imaginative drink menu. The space was decked out with holiday decor which made a festive vibe overall. The food menu is small but everything was delicious. The wings are a must order. Birria was messy but tasty. Two members of the group got the spicy rigatoni, one person thought it was spicy while the other person didnt- so likely somewhere in the middle. Great spot for a date night or after work drinks.
I recently visited Cedar Local Restaurant after a friend raved about their burgers, and I’m so glad I went! The burger lived up to the hype—it was absolutely amazing, juicy, and packed with flavor. But the real standout for me was the cocktail made with vanilla vodka and Greek yogurt; it was hands down the best cocktail Ive had in the city! The staff were incredibly pleasant, adding to the overall positive experience. The ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. I highly recommend Cedar Local for anyone looking for delicious food and a fantastic atmosphere!
2024: I hate to leave this review in case it gets too packed because they. Are. So. Good. Last word? No problem. Trinidad sour? Competes with Dutch Kills. The vibe? Hard to tell! Roll the dice! The best of the FiDi bars. Up there with split eights.
Always a good time at Cedar Local! Been coming here for years and enjoy the drinks and bar food. The deluxe burger is outstanding! It’s so hard to find a good burger these days and CL does not disappoint! The fries are also really good. Staff is very friendly and accommodating no matter how busy they are.
The place has a nice interior and Ive had good drinks before. Having said that, 20 bucks for signature cocktails is expensive if they are not above par. The figgin old fashioned tasted like a cheap old fashioned and the red sky at night was pretty weak for the price. I expect better cocktails for the price.
Cute vibe in there. Decorated for the holidays very nicely. The only downfall was that the music was a bit loud, but it was a great playlist. Also, it got VERY dark at one point when the lights were turned down..we had to move the little candle around to see our food. But the food was amazing and had so much flavor. So were the drinks. Definitely would revisit.
Looks like a dive bar inside but has proper cocktails and excellent food. Barria tacos were some of the best Ive had and the seasonal cocktails (old fashioned at hearth) had amazing taste and presentation Festive decorations for the holidays!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Discovering Cedar Local was like unearthing a hidden treasure in the heart of NYC. Just as Plato philosophized, forging a bond with your neighbors strengthens the community. This cozy bar embodies that spirit, where friendships flourish, and stories intertwine. Raise a glass at Cedar Local, and experience the power of togetherness! 🍻🏙️ #CedarLocal #CommunityStrong #PhilosophyOfFriendship
Took 15 mins to get our drinks. 2 dirty martinis were $50 without tip. Blue cheese olives were rancid
Those are only a couple of the things we tried. Luis behind the bar was awesome and so was everyone else. Awesome craft cocktails and they gave us a preview of future menu drinks. If you are in need of specialty cocktails and great small bites this place is for you!
Your good old fashion dive bar. A solid spot if you’re in a pinch and just need a drink. Not massive and not great for big groups but good for survival mode grab a pint. Just don’t ask for anything too fancy; asking for Jaeger net some blank stares.
Such a cute place to have a drinks or grab a bite to eat. Extremely friendly staff.
Cute little place we stumbled upon by happy accident. We just wanted drinks and weren’t disappointed. They were fairly expensive, but it was the best lemon drop I’ve EVER had.
Small local bar with great cocktails. They also offer mocktail options which are great for dry January!Beers and wines as well. Havent tried any of the food menu yet!The door doesnt have any protection so on a cold night if you sit in line with the door its cold every time someone comes or goes
I stopped in for a drink on a Tuesday around 9. Its high class feeling bar. It was still pretty busy for that time. The cocktail Whisky Rebellion was good and the bartender was friendly and fast.
Super cute cocktail bar. In the Christmas spirit. Delicious drinks. Can’t wait to come back! Enjoy!
This is a hidden gem. In from out of town, Texas. The Red Sky At Night, with the mix of Tequila and Mezcal and smoked, is incredibly creative. The Charlie Brown is like dessert. Both unreal. And a great tequila, scotch and bourbon list. Although I came in after the kitchen was closed, the menu also looks amazing. Definitely a place to bring a date for an under the radar place, make out in the corner, and have a great time.
Excellent happy hour deals! Seems like a great place to unwind after work.
Chicken and drinks are solid. Good music and chill vibe.
Beautiful place, but really weird experience. Bartenders did not greet me for several minutes, though it was relatively quiet at 9 on a Thursday. They seemed to be interacting with Regulars, which is great, but hey Im here too. A drunk guest mistook me watching the bartender (trying to make eye contact send get his attention) for staring at her and confronted me. It was super uncomfortable and she seemed quite over-served. Staff did not notice. Drinks were decent, wish the staff were a bit warmer, more attentive for only having 6 guests at the bar... service bar wasnt busy.
Food and drinks were all fine, but not amazing. Service was very disorganized. Decor/ambiance are all nice enough. There are better spots nearby IMO for happy hour drinks, but not a terrible choice if you can grab a seat at the bar itself.
Way too hot, music was below average, food was great
It’s a great spot to catch a drink and a bite after work. Came here because Google Maps said it was a great happy hour spot. That’s no longer the case. The only deal is from 3-5: get a free Cedar Lager ($9 normally) with a purchase of bite or plate of food. Food was good but expensive (chicken dumplings $19) and the beer was really underwhelming. Don’t come here for the happy hour specifically. Come for a nice swanky spot to get a drink
Fantastic place for an old fashioned
Visited around 9 on a Saturday evening. Screaming drunk patrons, disinterested staff, no liquor list, and limited bourbon selection. Worst of all, they were blasting very poor rap music, obviously to please the staff rather than the patrons. I couldn’t wait to leave.
Happy hour review.Energetic but not too crowded. Good Negronis and friendly staff even if you have to wait a minute to get a drink.Food instead comes out very quickly and it is delicious! My favorite is the Smoked Pork Belly Sliders, but also the taco selection is pretty good: Korean Tacos Shrimp & Beef, recommended, Tuna Poke Taquitos and Birria Tacos also pretty good!PS no happy hours prices for cocktails.
Good food and great service! Also a nice assortment of options for beverages! Glad I stopped in!
Great craft cocktails - new seasonal drinks added regularly!
Best bar in downtown. Cocktails and food amazing! I love this bar! It’s better now, after the quarantine! Jalapeño is the must!
Cedar Local is one of my favorite neighborhood places. I’ve been going there for the last 5 years. The food is always delicious and they have a great drink menu as well. Even during these weird times, the food is still incredible and the service, amazing.
Great drinks, and great food! They constantly rotate the cocktail menu and always take the time to make the drinks just right! Definitely recommend trying their burger, it is one of my favorites!
Cedar local is very fun! Great for happy hour. Actually, amazing for happy hour.We went for a dinner and it was a bit loud, but that’s not the intention of the bar so that’s on me.Flatbread was very crispy and truffle was incredibly tasty.Pork sliders were not over stuffed and meat was cooked to a perfect temperature.Greek Salad’s Feta was meh, but the rest was great.Solid drink list on all liquor fronts.
The first time being there my experience was wonderful and definitely Diego take care of usVery happy definitely recommend itAnd for the new ones ask for DiegoHe will know exactly what your favorite drink is
Awsome hidden find, after visiting the new Alamo Drafthouse. Was the weekend and not many options open in FIDI.Wow, drinks were very inventive and the food was great too. Nice vibe as well, easily missed from the street, but worth looking for! Will be back.
I actually enjoy the small pubs off the beaten path that dont get too crowded, the good was good, the drinks were great and strong, service could be slightly better but I would recommend anyone stop in for a drink or 2.
The bartender, Julian, was extremely rude to us during our visit. He consistently called my girlfriend doll and was very aggressive. We ordered food and I ate a few bites of the remainder of a donut I had. Nobody had any issue with the donut, except Julian applied an automatic 6+ group gratuity to the bill without telling us, despite there only being 3 in my party. When I asked about this, Julian said it was for the couple bites of the donut I ate. We asked him to remove the group gratuity and left him with a 15% tip, despite the awful service we received. He then proceed to follow us outside the building and yelled at us for only leaving a 15% tip. I will NEVER go back.
Nice location, convenient... but $14 for a vodka soda at 5:30pm is actually insane for this place. Can go to mister purple for cheaper.Unrelated to pricing, well decorated but generally slow service.
Cool cove of a spot in FiDi. Very good drinks, however they were pricey — Im not a Wall Street big wig, nor am I able to afford to live down there so for the true locals its likely not bad.
Great place to come after work !Great service. The food it’s amazing! The bartender Diego & Julián makes the best tiki chalet & no other bars I went has. They are very friendly. If you want a nice place to relax I highly recommend to go and ask for any of them ! They are the best.
Cedar Local is a nice little cocktail bar that is ~medium-sized for a New York bar (decent small tables, high tops, and one area with a long high top for a larger party. The drinks are good and there is a diverse menu. It is not too loud so you can have a conversation. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a chill drink with friends downtown.
A lovely neighborhood cocktail bar with wonderful atmosphere! Drinks take a little longer because of the care and attention put into making them - and the wait is very, very worth it.
Suggested by a local friend, we had drinks here on our stay in the Financial District, good selection of cocktails, friendly bartenders. So we decided to go back the next day to have more drinks and try some of their food, and I am glad we did, the food was outstanding (for a bar), the pork sliders were amazing and very tasty, the nachos were delicious (mind you, they did not look like your typical bar nachos) and I wish my pics would have been better as they dont look anywhere close to the way their food tasted. We were there on a friday, and the place gets packed after 5pm, on Saturday, it was much slower, better for us as we had the bartender full attention, he did mention that it would get crowded later on being a saturday.
Fantastic bar, great service
Fun local bar with quaint atmosphere, outstanding cocktails, and a decent menu. By far one of my favorite hidden gems in FiDi, possibly even lower Manhattan.
Great atmosphere with top-notch cocktails for reasonable prices. Can get a little crowded, but not too much so.
Stopped by for the first time after work for an event nearby. Good decor, great beer selection and good music playing in the background. The service was attentive as well.
One of the best cocktails in the area and nothing beats the friendly demenor of the bar staff.
Perfect vibe for a cocktail bar - skilled bartenders make incredible cocktails and are happy to make amazing mocktails if needed. Highly recommended.
Looks familiar but cant recognize
Cozy atmosphere with great appetizers and food for after work hangouts. The beer and cocktail selection is also very good.
Great cocktails and good service. Dark interior - cute for a date spot or night cap
Great atmosphere! The food was good and decent drinks too.
Place was not crazy busy for the St. Pattys Day weekend and we scored seats at the bar for some cocktails. Great music and drinks but our Bartender was rude AF. He acted bothered from the start. I asked about what was in a specific drink and he suggested we were wrong although we actually werent. He then proceeded to ask how I liked my drink and when I said with vodka generally he rudely replied Thats not what I asked you! Then proceeded to pepper me with questions on whether I wanted it sweet or salty etc... I just went with a martini to avoid further abuse. I could see if I was rude to begin with or because it was slammed but it was completely uncalled for. We left after just onen round of cocktails and warned other friends in the area not to bother. Unfortunate.. as we might have spent some money here but definitely wont now. As it was it was $40 before tip for 2 cocktails that were super small and came with a side of bad attitude. 👎
Nice atmosphere, Pricey drinks though, great parking next door for reasonable price.... need a driver if your drinking.
Have only been here for takeout but this burger was one of the best I’ve had in the city! So cheesy, sauce was perfect, just greasy enough. I will be coming back here next time I’m in FiDi.
One of the best burgers Ive had at a bar, as well as amazing specialty cocktails.
Great local neighborhood bar, highly recommend the double cheeseburger! FiDi NYC
Best Bartenders! The chef is amazing too, love the chicken sandwich!
Nice hidden gem, good drinks, friendly staff, cool crowd, low key, chill ambiance, food is good and fair prices.
They told us five times it will only take one minute to tell us after 30 minutes of waiting that they are understaffed. Horrible service and unfriendly waiters. Avoid if you can
Best watermelon mojitos and burger! Must try for any traveller. Relaxed and romantic atmosphere.
The drinks and food are outstanding but the experience was ruined when a family of small children walked in and shined their iPhone lights everywhere...
Looks great !!If you are looking for an experienced bartender, look no further ;)IG: prince_reigns7 for my work :) (:Prince
They know I work across the street and have given me free drinks, Id say thats a W.
Great food, nice staff, and tasty creative cocktails
Executive Chef John Vaughan is crazy talented. Excellent food and sexy ambiance!
Great bar downtown. Standout in FiDi. Creative cocktails and great bar food that’s a cut above other places in the area.
The experience here was completely ruined but the terrible service we received by our server. Extremely slow, inattentive, and unprofessional.
Today I went for pickup and one of male bartender the way he treated me unprofessional and rude, because of I had cancel the order and leave, he really need to learn how to treat everyone same way!
Clean, modern look, Nice atmosphere, small L shaped room. Staff not the friendliest and gave some grief over a party arrangement. Single malt scotch and cocktails $20 per drink.
Great tasting drinks in a comfy environment with privacy away from the large crowds.
Great drinks, if you like whiskey sours, the stone sour is where its at.
Cool little spot. Solid menu and an impressive cocktail list.
A great after work spot with a variety of draft beers and a Ill definitely return happy hour. The Cedar beer on draft is very good. Cheers.
Nice venues but cocktails where on the small side compared to other Venues visited
Cool drinks. Cool Place. Bartender rude and shamed my friend.
Nice drinks. Pretty pricey for what it is. Good service.
Everybody was friendly, helpful, the food was an ally high quality and tasty.. if youre nearby locally, you could do worse than stop by but it is not really a local neighborhood, cheap joint!
Great little spot! Fantastic cocktails and small plates to share. This is one of my frequent spots where I bring coworkers and we always have a good experience. Keith (the new manager) was incredibly friendly, affable, and attentive!
Great cocktails, friendly staff, and good food!
Great local place with mixologists who know how to create craft cocktails!
Its a nice looking bar but the quality just isnt there. Large ice should be standard in a cocktail bar in 2023, you shouldnt have tiny little pieces of ice in your mouth when youre ordering a $16 cocktail. Pork belly sliders turned out to be pulled pork of very low quality that felt microwaved. FIDI deserves better...
Over priced. A Heineken a guiness & a vodka was over $40.00
Very cool spot for cocktails and small plates. Like it a lot!
The best bar in NYC, staff are always so nice, thank you
Mezcal old fashioned & Korean tacos were delicious
Nice cozy spot with good drinks and appetizers.
I went yesterday to this place make me feel like home! The bartender name Diego was amazing and treated us as a family. Especial attention. The hat and his actitud make us feel conform. I been researching place to visit in my staying in NY & I been in many bars around NY and none have treated us the way this place make us feel! I highly recommend! If you go ask for Diego will make feel like home !
One of the best spots in NYC. Great place to have a drink. Kudos to the staff.
Nice place but very small. Great food!!
Best place ever
Drinks were perfectly mixed and appetizers were delicious.
My wife and I just so happened to pop in here on our first wedding anniversary. The host was SO nice and gave us a table by the open window. The drinks were great - tasty and not cheap on the booze. And the host we had made us feel special that we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. This can sometimes be rare in such a big city as nyc and my wife and I truly appreciate how accommodating they were at Cedar Local. If I am ever in the area I would come back again for a few drinks.
I love this unassuming spot because of its handsome vibe. Think classy gentleman in a dark-wood lounge after work… and the Espresso Martini is GREAT.
Good spot for a drink, both beer and cocktails.
Solid cocktail bar vibe with a reasonable music volume. Try the Antonia!
Bad service
Love their food & they have great staff
Great little spot with amazing ambience. Went to Cedar Local on a whim after an event in the area. There were a few people there, so we took up seats at the bar. The staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered a couple craft beers to start, then got into the cocktail menu. Happy hour was from 9-12...so awesome. The food was as good as the drink. I got a burger and my better half got the chicken sandwich. Both were excellent. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
Great local spot...premium cocktails are on point !
Awesome cocktails, bartenders are very skilled
Nice ambience with the dark lightning. Although does cause staff to sometimes forget about you cause its so dark. Drinks are pricey but have quality ingredients and taste great
Great cocktails at a bar that is somewhat off the beaten path.
This place has the best service. The bartender is super friendly. Plus, the food is great. We had the burger and the nachos and both were excellent. We went on the early side (about 7:30) and it was quiet. However, it got really loud and noisy by the time we left.
The best place & nicest staff. Security a brother
Fantastic
Good drinks and delicious shrimp tacos!
Came here for the summer tippler. Good service, good drinks, clean bathrooms - great time!! Also it smells sweet like funnel cake (without the fried smell) so bonus points for that. Worth coming to 100% :)
I really liked the place. Nice environment.
Good drink variety, slow service.
One of the original cocktail bars in FiDi before the neighborhood got hot. A superb, rotating drink menu will keep you coming back. If youre hungry, the food wont disappoint, but be prepared to order a few dishes as they tend to be on the smaller side. Great ambience.
My husband and I stumbled upon this spot on our recent trip to NYC. We enjoyed the ambiance and the drinks. Siobhan served us the two nights we stopped in. I loved her upbeat spirit. Thank you! We will be sure to visit when we’re back in town.
Great spot for drinks and snacks. Very intimate with good lighting and jams.
Excellent cocktails. Very friendly staff. Played great music from the 80s and 90s.
A very trendy bar in the Wall Street financial district. We were there on a Saturday around 6 – well before the “crowd” gets there. Bartenders were very rude, never made eye contact, although they spoke to their “regulars” quite often. The flatbread was decent but over-cooked. For the price and experience – we won’t be back. There were way too many places we visited in NYC that had both friendly service and better prices. This must have a clientele that accepts that service level.
Wow! I have heard of other pizza places mentioned as a “must-visit” in the city. L&B Spumoni Gardens was incredible! The cheese was perfectly melted in the way that they cooked it.
Cool go-to neighborhood spot with late night drink deals
Visiting from out of town and this hit the spot after looking for something over an hour. Get the Maximilian drink you won’t be disappointed.
Dark and cozy with an unexpected cocktail menu. Good snacks, nice vibe. Just the place for a slightly pricey but pretty tasty after-work drink.
Overpriced. Terrible service. Lied to us about the alcohol they used for our cocktails. Inedible disgusting food. Do better.
Best virgin cocktail ive had in my life. will def come back.
Lets start with the negative. There is no happy hour minus (I think one) $5 beer. The drinks are generally $12/14. Slightly pricey. This is not a diverse crowd so if thats what youre into, this may not be your place. Maybe because its so close to Wall St?Now the good...The drinks were GREAT! I would recommend El Primo if you like spicy. They arent stingy on the pours. These guys know what theyre doing! Highly trained.Decor looks cool. Not too crowded where youre bumping into people.Bar hooks (for the ladies)... sometimes the little things greatly help the night.Final thought- Id go back but wish it was a little more of a mixed crowd.
Great cocktails and small bites! And they have a disco ball…
Great decor -classy. I had Artichoke dip and cheese balls both of which were quite tasty. I also had the cedar whiskey cocktail -very good
Given the challenges of the time, there is nothing more impactful than supporting locals. Go for the drinks, stay for the food, and come back for the friendships. The team is working hard to normalize and are offering old and new favorites to keep the neighborhood going. The outdoor seating is comfortable and charming and there are many options to enjoy with regard to cuisine. A good respite from the crowds of the seaport and stone street - prepare to be surprised!
Great cocktails and offer a creative mocktail solutions. Quiet area of Wall St on a Saturday. Was surprised to walk into such an energetic vibe here.
Stopped in for a drink after work last week. Im normally a beer drinker, but decided to go with a mixed drink because of the bar setting. Ordered a Malibu bay breeze, but they didnt have Malibu. So I went with Kraken instead and was a great choice. The ambiance is casually elegant, but not pretentious. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Will have to try their food selection the next time I stop by.
Excellent drinks, friendly bartenders and staff, atmosphere is very comfortable. Stop by for a great experience!
Great food, drinks and ambiance. Try the Artichoke dip, it’s out of this world!!
I have always loved this spot. They have a great new outside seating area. We enjoyed grilled salmon sandwich, Mole nachos, little gem salad and burger Royale. The creative drinks, salmon sandwhich and burger Royale are the best in the city.
Best local cocktail bar in fidi
Awesome drink spot, with a good scene
Nice atmosphere and folks there. Food was great as well.
Good apps. Much larger than I thought theyd be. Order 4 for a table of 2. Could have fed 8.
Great when it opened. Tonight?! Insanely bad service, and one of the drinks that was not supposed to be sweet, came out undrinkably sweet. Literally. Im not one to leave a drink undrunk, but this one I could not finish.
My fiancé took me to this excellent place. She warned me before hand that the drinks could be on the pricey side. So we had one drink each and tried the nachos. Our drinks were rich and full of exquisite flavors. I tried the Donald which uses Illegal(brand name) Mezcal as the main spirit for this drink. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, great music friendly service and lighting. The only complaint or suggestion that I might add would be to include a happy hour menu. I would have loved to try other drinks at this place but at a certain point you shouldn’t be paying close to $20 a cocktail.
Vibey cocktail bar in an otherwise rather barren part of town!
Excellent & noteworthy service ... people who KNOW people & the food + beverage options.Dont miss this hidden, local gem 💜
My old fashioneds were perfect, the bar food was delicious, and the atmosphere was classy without being pretentious. They even gave us a free round when they had to ask us to move to seat a larger group.
Sliders and the Royale with cheese were awesome.
Great bar with friendly Staff. Its a nice place to come to for a quiet drink after work.
Great spot for some after work drinks and a nice variety of well made cocktails.
It was nice. A little small, and the food options are extremely limited and expensive, but the drinks were on point.
Good atmosphere, Quiet, Off the beaten path.
I’ve always walked by this place on my way from work - it had a cool vibe to it. When the next team drinks came up, I suggested Cedar Local. I’ve called and made reservations, leaving payment information as we were a large group. The day of the team event we were all excited to check the new venue out. As 12 of us as entered the place the waitress pleasantly greeted us, however was confused that there was no reservation under my name and immediately ran to the manager. Now as you can imagine, there is no way a group of dozen individuals go into a random bar downtown during holiday season demanding a spot to have some drinks - reservations we made and confirmed. The manager denied that any reservations were made - even after I showed the venue’s number in my phone log (and with whom I definitely spoken to). Rudely treated our group stating “there’s nothing I can do, you might as well leave”. We were basically kicked out!Regardless whether it was a reservation mistake - This not how a business should be run nor how potential customers should be treated!
Its better in the summer when they can open up the front. Its pretty expensive too. However, the drinks are made well.
Decent little bar. Quick drinks not super artisanal.
Great service!
Good cocktails but service often leaves something to be desired
Aside from the dead rabbit the only place around Wall Street to have a proper cocktail
Good food, nice place and I was told the pear drink is awesome.
Awesome drinks amazing customer service very nice staff
Place is real chill. Great for lonely people.
Great choice of cocktails, nice bartenders, good service, nice craft beer selection and awesome bar food
Cute place. Good cocktails.
Interesting cocktails ! A must try
Fun place. everyone was very friendly
Just a gem in FiDi. Too nice almost!
Really great place, food drinks and outdoor
Good late night bar. Cool atmosphere.
10/10
This place is expensive for what it is worth and usually very loud. The last time I was there, I ordered from the bar, the bartender told me the beer was $5. The rest of the group I was with ordered drinks and food from the waitress. The waitress snuck in to start taking my drink orders and included me on the group bill. She charged me for a $3, 10oz seltzer, charged me $9 for two beers each (even though the bartender said $5), and tax was added on (which is unusual when you pay that much for a beer). The total came to $23 with tax, and then the waitress charged me $5 for gratuity, which again, I was not part of the group and puts the gratuity at about 22% on two beers. Personally, I try to avoid this place, due to the expensiveness and inconsistency of the servers (one time I was there I ordered a Montauk beer on tap and the waitress brought me the Montauk can 3 times in a row) but unfortunately, its the closest bar to work so sometimes its unavoidable.
Great drinks and lively atmosphere.
Great ambience, amazing cocktails, and the best service... A must visit if you are nearby.
One of the better downtown pubs
Great food and drinks
Very, very loud, and popular with Finance Bros. Friendly staff, but overpriced.
Great vibes. Amazing staff.
You can find a better place …
Great hidden spot in FiDi.
Probably very overpriced and kind of overwhelming
My after work place in NYC!
Wonderful experience
Indignant mule was excellent.
