We had the most amazing brunch here ❣️ we were running late and the hosts were so gracious. The food and drinks were delicious, we all had pizzas which we ate all of including the crust 😂 & they literally read our minds and we never had to wait for a single refill. Never felt more taken care of!!!Bottomless is the best! Can’t wait to come back! ❣️❣️❣️

I’d attach a picture to show you how good the food was, but I honestly scarfed it down before I remembered to do that. The sauce was so good I used every inch of crust on my Amatriciana pizza to make sure my plate was clean. The bottomless brunch sangria is also amazing too. Made in house fresh every day in the morning.

Went to get a tattoo today and I researched places to eat near the shop, this one happened to be two stores down from the tattoo place. When I walked past the place the smell of the food hits your nose with such grace. The second you walk in, you are greater by the hostess, the atmosphere is a delight, this is such a beautiful restaurant. The minute you sit you are given water and bread. This place was very busy and still I received amazing service, not once did I have to look for my waiter, and when my waiter wasnt around, there was another gentleman who asked if I were okay.I was in the mood for salad and pizza, and let me tell you, it was some of the best food Ive eaten in NYC in some time. The pizza was made to perfection. I love the fact that the first thing you see when you walk in the place is the pizza oven, so you immediately know they are serious about pizza. The quality of the ingredients were top notch. The salad with shaved Parmesan was amazing. And then the ice cream was the perfect ending to bless the palette.... I also loved that the waiter spoke Italian and the other gentleman spoke Spanish as I am half Italian and half Spanish. This was a great experience. I am an Executive Chef and I can say that this place is a perfect example of how a restaurant should be run, they have the perfect people working there.I will be coming back and I will make sure to spread the word amongst my peers.

Food is basic but delicious. Falls flat on portions. They do the hipster thing of serving a tiny bit of pasta in a bowl with a HUGE rim and it’s not fooling anyone. Everything is a bit overpriced- but thats what happens if you’re in they city so whatever.Literally went to a burger joint right after sonce we were all still super hungry. For reference I am 5’6 and 155 lbs so it’s not like a really overweight person with a super large stomach is writing this

Gonocco isa splendid establishment with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My food was delicious and presented with artful taste. I was seated in the back of the house where I found myself in a converted courtyard area with a makeshift roof. The room was surrounded with plants and wide brick walls. Yes, this was the perfect lighting and ambiance for a fantastic evening of small plate Italian cuisine. I would happily recommend trying the gnocchi pomodoro or the fusilli. The fusilli came with a green jalapeno pepper that lit my taste buds on fire, in a good way. I sincerely hope this review helps.

It was my friends birthday dinner. we went into this place based on a tiktok that glorified this place. best to say is that it was the COMPLETE opposite. for the price you might think you’re going to get feel good quality food but the pizza was an absolute floppy overpriced burnt and yet somehow undercooked mess. the burger we ordered came with four slices of COLD cheese on the untoasted bread. how is this place even in business??? its honestly just for the aesthetic city vibes. dont even get me started on the entitled waitress who stood at the table and demanded we would give her more than 20% of a tip and called us “disrespectful” because we didnt want to tip her more. Honestly we wouldve gave her more but the fact she had such an attitude we were absolutely disgusted. Save your money!! literally get pizza from ur local pizza shop which is more cheaper and you’re going to come out with your stomach full and your moneys worth. The margaritas were watery and the only thing good was the mimosas. Never again!!

🤢🤮WORST dining experience ever!! Order a “vegetarian” pizza off their “Vegetarian Menu” (Yes, their digital menu specifically offers a “Vegetarian Menu” to click on that displays all the “Vegetarian” options available). Took a bite out of my “vegetarian” pizza and had a MOUTHFUL OF MEAT! Filing a report with NYC Department Of Health and Better Business Bureau! DISGUSTING 🤢 🤮IN RESPONSE TO “OWNER’S” COMMENT ON MY REVIEW:You hand patrons of your restaurant iPads to view your menu. Upon opening the cover of the iPad, customers are given the option to “click” on several menus. One option is “vegetarian”, another is “vegan”. Since I’ve been a vegetarian (not vegan) for over 40 years I “clicked” on the “vegetarian” menu and NONE OF THE OTHER MENUS! If you offer the same item with meat on a different menu it’s NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER to have any kind of knowledge of that! Either your servers have to be knowledgeable and inform customers or you have to change the names of items on your menu!! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF, YOUR ESTABLISHMENT AND THE PEOPLE YOU EMPLOY and NOT OFFER LAME EXCUSES! 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢

Host Service - Excellent! We ended up being somewhat difficult as he sat us indoors and then we asked to be sat in the garden area and then asked to be moved as the AC was right on us and we were cold. The host was very patient and didnt make us feel bad.Waitress Service - Terrible. It took someone forever to take our order. My husband had asked for oil and balsamic and we never got it. We ended up having to ask for it again and then finally got it by the time we were almost done with dinner. After the food arrived, it took so long for someone to come check on us that we were over ordering the condiments we needed.Ambiance - The restaurant is nice and they have put in a lot of time and effort to make the indoor garden look nice and feel like an outdoor set up.Food - My husband and sister-in-law got their pizzas and it was delicious. The sauce was well seasoned and the crust was perfectly cooked. I unfortunately got the pasta and it was very disappointing. The sauce tasted bland and the vegetables didnt even have any flavor to it. It was supposed to be spicy but the chilis were on top of the pasta and not cooked so even when I mixed them in, the texture was off. We also got the burrata and the arancini for appetizers and they were average.Price - Average, I dont think it was worth it though.Side note: I did enjoy that the menu is on an ipad and therefore you can see a picture of everything you are considering ordering.Instagram Handle: @TheShahLALand

Great Northern Italian cuisine with its 20+ years in business in this location. Must make a reservation when possible or go at an off time or youre not getting in. Yeah, its that popular. The pasta dishes are fresh and some more unique than others. This visit: loved the gorgonzola walnut pasta and the whole wheat pasta. The famous Gnocco fritter appetizer is all that and more. Beautifully presentation of the octopus salad speaks for itself. I wouldve preferred some cracked pepper or fresh lemon as another element but my fellow companions opted no to that. Oh well. Next time Im going to hoard it for myself. LOLOther classic dishes like the pizza and calzone were also very good. The margherita has fresh basil and thats our favorite. Love the sauce and that crust. If youre lucky, you can ask for the garden seating but thats usually packed first. Its a covered area but with all the fun elements of outdoor dining without the pedestrian traffic and Street noise. Totally would return and recommend. Give the lambrusco a try as well or enjoy the many other suggested pairings as noted on the menu.

Overall, it was a nice place and the food was good too. Thankfully we had a reservation as it was constantly really busy and we were seated right away inside. They had partitions between tables for social distancing, sanitizer on the table and provided a QR code for their menu as well as an iPad. The service was a bit slow but we enjoyed our table conversation while we waited. I noticed another table next to us who seemed frustrated their food had not arrived shortly after we got ours. The staff were all friendly. The only minor two things I noticed couldve made it even better... not a huge deal but 1)the table was up against this wall which was a mirror and wedged in this weird brick wall that stuck out, which means the two people against the wall had very little room to sit, we were squeezing ourselves into an already tight space (although I think the owner noticed towards the end of our meal and came to fix it by putting the table out a bit), 2)We were also offered bread but no olive oil and balsamic vinegar (like how restaurants in Italy usually serves it)...

The spicy chocolate and cherry gelato was really good, flavorful, well presented. The rose wine definitely a plus. In terms of service, I’m not very pleased. We were not given any options but to sit indoors in a very limited space, (I understand maybe they were very busy but at least ask). The server didn’t ask or explain anything. We asked for our check, she didn’t ask cash or credit, came back with a printed copy a little abrupt. The communication wasn’t great, language (s) wasn’t an obstacle. The place has improved a little since the time it had a different owner or management, but I feel it needs more light indoors.

Gnocco was recommended by a fellow Italian friend who really liked the food here. So coming from an Italian (Rome) Id tend to believe. The interior was clean and modern. We had a reservation for 8 people which was all set up in the patio in the back. The host was friendly and led us back while we waited for the rest of the group of join. We ordered some appetizers to start. The buffalo mozzarella was creamy, smooth and delicious. The octopus carpaccio with fennel tasted great except that it was sliced paper thin. We prefer the octopus as bite size morsels. The Arancini de Riso is as I remembered it from my travels in Italy. Our server had several lost in translation moments where we ordered one dish became two. When it came to ordering the main entree he said it would take a long time if we all ordered our own dishes so better so share. But what is the difference between ordering 8 dishes verses 6? And secondly, it wasnt like we were in a hurry...? We were a bit puzzled but decided to order our own individual dishes anyway. In terms of time, I didnt think it took that long for the food to arrive on the table. The pizza was light and the crust was delicious. The pasta cooked al dente and the steak cooked as requested. The Branzio al Cartoccio was filled with seafood. In all everyone was very happy with the dishes and we all shared to try a little from everyone.Gnocco may be a new find for us and a place we will be returning back to again even with the puzzling moment that left the table all pondering.Tutti a tavola a mangiare!

Went to Gnocco on a recommendation from a friend. First time visiting NYC from Seattle. We made reservations for 7:30, arrived about 7:22 and were seated right at 7:30. Our waiter, Fabio, came over promptly as we were being seated and asked if wed ever been in before. We stated we had not and he asked if we were ready to order. Fabio, we havent even looked at our menus yet. He came back about 2 minutes later, gave us the specials and asked if we were ready. Not quite. He came back again at 7:35 and explained that he needs our order, because we have to be out at a certain time and he wants to make sure we can get served. Ok, thats a first. We hastily place an order, my dining experience has now been sufficiently soured. We order drinks, and wait a reasonable amount of time for the food. The food was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. We skipped dessert and went to a gelato place down the street. Lord knows I wouldnt want to overstay our welcome.

No option for ZERO STARS? HORRIFIC service. Intentionally rude. We went once and had really WORST BAD SERVICE EVER, but we figured everyone has a bad day, so we tried it again. We received 2 GLASSES OF RECYCLED WINE.NOTE: we were the only two people there. So we placed the stroller off to a corner near the table, then we actually watched them discuss the matter and specifically send a bus boy over to act like the stroller was in his way. The bus boy asked us to move the stroller, so we got up and left. Dont go here until they change management. They should be ashamed of themselves. In addition my wife saw a rat and bugs in the dining room!STAY AWAY PLEASE

Whether it’s a morning coffee al fresco, a romantic candlelit dinner in the garden, or even a bottomless brunch with the fam-bam, Gnocco never disappoints. Some come for the pizza and some come for the wine—but all come for the neighborhood atmosphere that perfectly encapsulates the eclectic neighborhood that is the East Village! Each time, I can guarantee that Gnocco will greet me warmly with open arms and leave me with a full belly. Since my childhood, the aroma of fresh pasta, bread and marinara sauce etched itself into my heart, and coming to Gnocco makes me feel as though I’ve returned to a familiar home. Thank you Rosella! Will DEFINITELY be back!! This place had it all... it was beautiful, serene and inviting.. we sat in the outdoor room which was an air conditioned solarium.. so pretty.. the service was fantastic. Our female server (forgot her name 😕) was very knowledgeable about all the food and took great care of us and we can be a pretty needy bunch with more wine, bread, oil (which was delicious!) And butter...The food: we started with the Antipasto Misto... WOW!!! We practically ate the plates to not let any of it go to waste!! Lol! Our dinners...Reginette Gorgonzola e Noci... OMG!!! If you love cheese... say yes!! It was a more AMAZING alfredo-type flavor and the pasta was very different and sooo enjoyable!! All homemade BTW!!! So even with a pasta dish, you dont feel heavy and full..The Branzino was steamed in foil and was super light and tasty.. The grigliata Mista di carne... every bit was delicious... we had the house white wine.. and it was absolutely delicious, fruity and light.. On our way out, we ran into the owners which invited us to a couple espressos with Sambuca and a limoncello.. our overall experience in Gnocco was outstanding and I am so looking forward to coming back!! Thank You for an awesome time, food and service!!!😘

In short - this restaurant left me speechless. I will be back. Here is the more detailed review- Nestled in the heart of a bustling foodie paradise, Gnocco stands out as a beacon of Italian cuisine, offering an authentic dining experience that transports patrons straight to the rustic countryside and lively streets of Italy. The restaurant takes its name from a delectable type of Italian dumpling, a nod to the care and authenticity infused in every dish. The menu at Gnocco is a testament to the rich culinary traditions of Italy, curated with both passion and precision. Its evident that each ingredient is chosen for its freshness and quality, ensuring that every bite is a celebration of flavors. The star of the show is undoubtedly the homemade pasta, each strand and shape a canvas for the vibrant, locally-sourced ingredients it accompanies. The gnocchi, true to the restaurants namesake, is pillowy perfection, served in a variety of sauces that rotate with the seasons but are consistently delectable. The pizzas, too, are a revelation – thin, crispy crusts topped with gourmet ingredients, all fired to perfection in a traditional wood oven.Service at Gnocco is as outstanding as its cuisine, with staff that are not only knowledgeable about the menu but exude a genuine warmth and hospitality. Theyre eager to make recommendations, share the stories behind the dishes, and ensure that your dining experience is memorable.Gnocco is more than just a restaurant; its a celebration of Italian culinary mastery, a place where every meal is an occasion and every guest is treated like family. It stands out not just for the authenticity of its food but for the experience it offers – a slice of Italy that feels both comforting and exhilarating. Dining at Gnocco is not just eating out; its an immersive journey into the heart of Italy, promising flavors and memories that are truly indelible.Enjoy!

Drinks were great and the manager comped us for the mistakes made by the server.Overall great food and will definitely come again!

Honestly, reading through the 1 star reviews here and seeing how defensive the responses are is pretty insane to me, so I was hesitant to even say anything, but I felt like I needed to write about my experience here. Right off the bat, the male server was really rude and would snap at my friends for asking a simple question (she asked when Happy Hour ended and he said “I literally just told you that it’s Happy Hour like look at the menu”). I get that serving is an exhausting job, so I didn’t want to judge him based on his instances of snapping at us. I ordered a vegetarian pasta, and it truly tasted like it was microwaved from Trader Joe’s and was making me feel nauseous. When I told the waiter this, he told me it’s because I’m used to “Little Italy pasta” (whatever that means genuinely) and that I need to start reading the menus more carefully. I told him I know what I ordered (like, I’m not illiterate) and said “I don’t mean any disrespect, but it doesn’t taste good to me and it’s making me feel sick”. Despite this, he just kept insisting that me and my friends don’t know how to read the menu carefully. He told me he will not refund me (I took maybe 5 bites of my food), but he can make me something else. I was pretty upset since I was losing $23, but since the food was making me feel sick, I offered to just pay for the meal without a replacement. I genuinely think that he got offended because he kept flipping through and telling me how amazing their pasta is and he doesn’t understand why I wouldn’t want it. I didn’t want to argue so I just ordered a replacement meal to go. The bartender (maybe he was a manager, not sure) gave us complementary drinks to make up for it. He was nice, and I do feel bad about being that person to complain about food, I just was so upset with the way we were being spoken to and the food was really not good. I got this replacement meal to go and got so sick as soon as I ate it and then had to go to work till 4 am on an empty stomach since my dinner made me so so sick—it just was not an ideal situation and I wish they had just listened to me instead of making me feel like I “don’t know what good pasta is”. Obviously I tipped 20% because not tipping is just an abomination, but let me say I really, really did not want to. The waiter was nice after I ordered the replacement pasta but I do not understand why he was so offended. And no, I won’t come here again, just so I don’t have to hear that in a rude response, I’m just sharing what happened.

My wife and I were eager to try Gnocco in New York City, lured in by its numerous glowing reviews. However, our experience left us puzzled and underwhelmed, meriting a modest three-star rating. The cuisine, while palatable, fell short of the authentic Northern Italian cuisine it purported to emulate. Service was lacklustre, with some staff members more engrossed in their conversations than in attending to guests. Our server’s contrived Italian accent, more amusing than authentic, only added to the evening’s disappointments. The final letdown was the restaurant’s policy of adding a 4% surcharge for card payments, a move that felt both petty and diminishing to the overall dining experience. Regrettably, this visit did not inspire a return.

The pizzas suck. The “crust” is so thin and offensive, crunchy cracker. Italians don’t eat like this you impostors. The only mushroom pizza offered is porcini, and the reconstituted porcinis are mushy and repulsive, huge chunks of stem instead of nice slices. The only reason i ordered from here is because numero28 went out of business (probably due to the ridiculous rents which are ruining everything for anyone not earning a finance executive’s paycheck.). This restaurant is emblematic of the big-money-rent disease plaguing the city.
