Stopped in for a quick burger for lunch.“OG Burger” was excellent. Fries were competent but nothing special (I would prefer fresh cut).Service was very fast and friendly, and it’s a very cool looking spot. There is a big focus on their cocktails, especially the espresso ones. My seat was near the bar and everything coming out of it looked great. It was busy but not packed when I was there, but it’s also a smaller place so make a reservation at more peak times. Will return.
Super cute spot for brunch with friends. The ambience is lively without it being over crowded. I also appreciated that we were not rushed to get in and out. We were able to have a longer fun time on a Sunday brunch. The martini flight that was super tasty. The mushroom toast was particularly tasty, it goes really well with avocado.
After a while of looking for a great brunch place, we were able to run into this amazing Australian inspired brunch restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and was instantly seated without a reservation. The food was very tasteful for I ordered the pulled pork hash. The ambience is very nice and calming such a great place to in quickly to get a quick bite or just a very easy-going luncheon. Would love to come back and visit.
Foodwas different and delicious. Had a kimchi scramble and it was excellent. All the food that was going by looked great. The only knock is that the batch coffee was only okay. And that are refill was the purchase of another cup. Thats probably me being naive.
Okay okay this place wasn’t bad at all. First time here and it was a wonderful time. It was great vibes and Enrrique (hope I got his name right) was positive energy. We had the wings, the fish sandwich , and the shrimp pasta. I had the cooper beer and my friend had the martini flight. The food came by super fast for a spot that was busy since it’s located at a hotel. I love how clean it is and the staff. The staff are awesome. They seem like they do enjoy work. I love that. If I am in the city again, I’ll come back and try something different. Cheers to good energy.
Isla & Co. is a fantastic brunch spot with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The food is uniquely Australian, offering a delightful mix of flavors that stand out. They clearly put a lot of thought into the flavor combinations, making each dish an experience on its own. The coffee is also excellent, perfectly complementing the meal. I highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Aussie-style cuisine or is looking for a new brunch spot in Midtown. The vibe and food make it a must-visit!
Great avocado toast!!! The bowl was yummy as well… the espresso martini flight was fun but the rum one is so bad!!!
Wow! We didnt expect much when we realized the restaurant was located in the hotel lobby. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The menu was really cute and funny! We sat at the bar and received great recommendations from the bartender. To start, we shared the espresso martini flight, which allowed us to taste various bases - whiskey, tequila, and rum. If you love espresso martinis, this is a must-try!Next, we shared the kung pao fried cauliflower, which was executed perfectly. The cauliflower was crunchy and not overpowered by the sauce. For our main courses, I had the fish sandwich and my partner had the OG burger. Both came with fries and the portions were generous. Plus, they tasted just as delicious the next day! Were looking forward to returning for brunch next time!
We had a great time here for post-work drinks. The famous espresso martini flight lived up to the hype! The Olive Temptation was shockingly good and did not cause any Starbucks Oleato-type incidents (I was concerned). That one was actually my favorite but the classic is also really good. The truffle fries were pretty tasty. Next time I’ll try the kangaroo as our wonderful server suggested.
Looking for a fantastic spot to indulge in espresso martinis and gourmet toasts? This restaurant is an absolute gem!We had an incredible lunch, savoring the spicy shrimp pasta and kimchi egg toast with avocado—each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The combination of the rich, spicy shrimp and the perfectly balanced tang of kimchi made for a truly memorable meal. The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and efficient, making us feel right at home. It’s clear the staff takes pride in delivering a top-notch dining experience.Conveniently located just an 11-minute walk from Grand Central, it’s the perfect spot for a quick yet delightful lunch or a leisurely catch-up over drinks. Whether you’re a foodie or a cocktail enthusiast, this place is not to be missed!
Decided to check out Isla & Co. after reading theyre the Home of the Espresso Martini Flight. And with my boyfriend and I being experienced espresso martini drinkers, we had to check it out! They have two locations in NYC, one in Midtown and one in Williamsburg. They bring their Australian culture and vibes through everything I love... food, drinks and shared experiences! We started with the espresso martini flights (predictable I know) and had to get our own which Im glad we did. In the flight, we tried the Olive Temptation (my favorite), Scarlett Rose and Coco Devine. Olive Temptation has a touch of banana, cream and olive oil which is why it is my favorite. Scarlett Rose is more on the saltier side if you like drinks with salt and Coco Devine is a desert-y martini so save that for the end.As we were sipping on our flights, of course I had to try the food what goes better with espressos than a caesar salad and fries? Both were SO good. The fries were perfectly crispy and I loved the crispy parmesan wafer in the salad. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parmesan with a salad and kangaroo skewers. We were both pleasantly enjoying our time here. The service was great as well, our waiter was super attentive and gave great suggestions throughout the night.Isla & Co. is located on the ground floor of Hotel Hendricks so definitely check them out at the bar or grab a table because youll definitely be here a while enjoying everything their menu has to offer!
Isla&Co is serving up $25 espresso martini flights!!! That’s I love it !!!! There are three different flavors for the price of one! I love the kangaroo skewers, and homemade hummus. This is one of my new favorite spots in NYC. ISLA & CO. Is 1000/10. This is Australian cuisine with a little extra flair. Good deal on $25 espresso martini flight. sexy, fun and perfect for drinks, dinner with the girls or date nightI cant pick my favorite dish but you HAVE to try the kangaroo.
Great food and friendly service. My son loved the grilled kangaroo appetizer and I thought the power bowl was made really well. I also had a very nice flat white.
Tj was the best server ever. I felt like he was genuine and able to give us the best experience ever. We will be coming back because of him. He really wanted to make sure we chose the right orders for our needs. I definitely recommend this spot and make sure Tj serves you. You won’t regret :)
Love how this place is tucked inside the hotel, and as you walk around the corner of the restaurant, it opens up to a bigger seating area.Ordered the espresso flight (olive temptation, Scarlett rose, and coco Devine) and Isla Benedict with avocado, seared broccoli, shaved golden beets, and hollandaise while my friend ordered a mimosa and the brekkie roll with fries. The food was decent. Our eggs were cooked to perfection, but my sourdough was tough. The Benedict itself kind of lacked flavor, but I’m from the south so we put Tony’s in almost everything. It might have just been my palate. I did wish I had more salad dressing on my salad, but it was still good. My friend’s fries were salty but still manageable. She finished her food so I know it was still yummy. Overall, I liked my food a lot minus the bread. Very good portions and great service too!But what stole the show was the espresso martinis!!! I loooooved every single flavor! If I had to rank them from most favorite to least, it would be the following: olive temptation, scarlet rose, and coco Devine. My friend also loved her mimosa.Another thing I would like to note is how you pay. There’s a QR code you scan that is displayed on your table, and you follow the prompts. Once you’re finished, your receipt is emailed to you, and you have access to the PDF which is an itemized receipt. I LOVE THAT!!! So easy and organized!TL;DR - I would definitely return for their drinks and recommend the espresso flight to everyone!!
TJ the DJ ! How fun to have breakfast and have a great music playlist BUT then be asked what you want to hear. So cool !Breakfast sandwich was 10/10 and the espresso martinis were excellent.TJ was attentive with food service and Myesha made an excellent espresso martini.I always try to stay around midtown and I like to find good breakfast spots when I get into the city.( FYI early risers -They don’t open until 9AM)
This place is amazing. The drinks, the food, the vibes — the service. Will definitely be back. It’s givinggggg yes please.
Isla & Co. is almost the same as its sister restaurant, Hole in The Wall. The ambiance is relaxed yet stylish, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The menu is small, but with many drink options and includes some of the same items like the mushroom toast and breakfast burrito. We had the pulled pork Benedict which had nicely poached eggs. It would be great if they included a side salad or some fruit as you only get one piece of toast for the $20. plate. The tea was served piping hot which is always a good thing.Service is attentive and friendly. The menu is hilarious. For fans of Hole in The Wall, Isla & Co. feels both familiar and new.
TJ is a good waiter, gave us details explaining on food. Nice experience
Taylor is truly the best! Ambiance, service, personality and attentiveness is why I keep coming back 🫶🏽 Taylor remembered my order from one of her suggestions from my previous visit! Her attention to detail and relationship building skills has mad my experience here unforgettable!
We recently had the pleasure of being served by Juan and we cant say enough good things about him. From the moment we sat down, his attentiveness was evident. He checked in on us regularly without being intrusive, ensuring that our drinks were filled and that we had everything we needed to enjoy our mealJuans knowledge of the menu was impressive; he provided insightful recommendations that truly enhanced our dining experience.Beyond his professionalism, Juans warm and sweet demeanor made us feel welcome and valued. It’s rare to find a waiter who combines such expertise with a genuine kindness, and Juan certainly stands outOverall, Juan made our dining experience exceptional, and I would highly recommend requesting him if you ever find yourself at this restaurant. Thank you, Juan, for your outstanding service!
Lovely place all around. Didn’t stay at the connected hotel, but is a really nice spot not far from Bryant Park and Grand Central. Recommend the Isla burger! Ask for the special sauce. It’s spicy!
Food was excellent! I was really missing an Australian breakfast and this really fit the bill! Great service 🙂
Nice little spot inside the Hendricks Hotel. Friendly and attentive staff. Tired the Kangaroo and it is good, but eat it fast as when it cools the texture changes. All in all good spot.
Great little place in the lobby of a hotel.. The bloody Mary and espresso martinis were awesome. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. The quinoa bowl was the surprise of the night for me...it was delicious!! I will be returning to enjoy it again Im sure. Its definitely craveable which is how I know a place is great!
TJ is awesome as stated over and over, and the menu is fantastic. The Kung pao cauliflower delicious and anything with avocado too. You must get the Espresso martini.
I don’t usually leave reviews but the staff here was incredibly kind and helpful and friendly - all of them. We stopped briefly for a lunch; both had fish sandwiches 10/10. I requested to move seats (I know, a little annoying) but when one opened up they were extremely accommodating and I just wanted to take my mom out quickly for her birthday before we caught the train back home. Thanks for a great lunch:)
We had the fish and chips and crispy chicken sando. The fish was bland and needed much more salt which they dont provide (service is very slow). The chicken was also dry (overcooked?). Overall I would not recommend this place
We went here after a show and before a train out of NY. It was a strange experience. We didnt know that it was a hotel bar. It is literally in the lobby of a hotel. I now know its Hendricks Hotel, but didnt know when booking it.People are checking in on the right and dining on the left. We were in the back so we didnt really see/hear it. They stash the checked bags behind a curtain from the front desk, but that was really in the restaurant area by the bathrooms. So Im not sure how safe the bags really are. Though I didnt see anyone bother them.Speaking of bathrooms, there was a 6 foot tall plant literally in front of the toilet. Like you were in the leaves while using the toilet. And there was a bottle of urine next to it. Weird, but if someone is ill, I cant complain. STRANGE!We got there around 3:30, so the menu was more limited. We ordered about 6 different sharing plates including the chicken wings (tasted great, but could have been a little more done on the outside)We waited until 5pm to order the octopus and everyone seemed to like it.Decor was nice.Service was STRANGE! We had a server that disappeared at about 4:30 and then a new one magically appeared later. They got the bill wrong, but we didnt have time to wait for someone to return to the table, so we left after paying. (amount was less than we actually owed)I think it would be a cute hotel to stay in and maybe grab breakfast on the way out for the day, but as far as a NY hot spot, nah, not really. Not sure Ill be rushing back so soon.
The wait time for the food took a while ~ 35-40 minutes. The kangaroo kabobs and the spicy shrimp rigatoni were lackluster.
Enjoyed visiting Isla to treat a friend to a birthday dinner. The food and drinks were great! We heavily leaned towards the seafood options and greatly enjoyed the octopus and bass. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! I would say one area of improvement could be just how they orchestrate the dining experience. We ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees and everything came at once. Since there was not enough room on a two top for 4 shareable dishes they took the two entrees back till we finished the apps. While my friend was late for our reservation, I sat at the table for about 15 minutes and then flagged a waitress for water and a glass of wine. The white wine selection was very nice and I enjoyed a dry and minerally white wine from France plus a Prosecco. The servers were so personable and nice!!! Would recommend for a nice midtown bite.
Delicious spot. The decor and ambiance is amazing. So cute. Love the options. The service was attentive. The options are great. They have plenty of things for vegans and vegetarians. The Brussel sprouts were phenomenal. It was a crowd favorite.
Delicious food and great service. Our server went over and beyond and was super handsome and sweet.
Very tasty place! Brocollini pasta was delicious. Recommend very tasty
This restaurant is over rated. The food is very good, but the service and drinks are not. Our waiter came 1 single time during our entire meal. He said we couldn’t put in an appetizer order before our meal order; we had to order everything at once. Our appetizer order never came. The espresso martini flight arrived room temperature and tasted “weak” / very watered down. We told all of this to the manager who was very receptive and discounted our meal, but it still didn’t make up for the bad experience.
Isla is such a cute and delicious find!We came a bit early for our reservation, but were accommodated immediately. Jess was a great server and recommended the Fried Chicken Sando, it was perfect. We’re visiting from out of town, but will be recommending Isla to our local friends!
This restaurant brings the vibrant flavors of Australia to the bustling streets of NYC.But what truly stole the show for me was their Italian-inspired Espresso Martini – an absolute delight for the senses! Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced, its a true standout.
TJ was real cool, absolutely fantastic server who brought all the good vibes and food. Host was also awesome, shout out to the host. Loved the cute little comments on the menu about Aussie food. Will be back
Attended a brunch at this venue and what sets this restaurant apart is its spacious setting and the low music that enables easy conversation! The customer service was top-notch and the ambiance was truly inviting! The meal tasted just as good as any other Manhattan restaurant!
We started with an Espresso Martini Flight while going ham on Sausage Rolls bursting with gingery, garlicky porky goodness. Next up was a super fresh Isla Bowl piled high with mushrooms, toasted quinoa, broccolini, and the creamiest marinated feta. 🥣🥗
We were visiting from out of state and ended up eating here twice because the food was so good. The first visit I had a breakfast roll and it was good but the second time I got the crispy chicken sando and it was delicious. Honestly would recommend it to everyone. 10/10
Service was amazing! TJ was busy yet still took amazing care of us. My son said the strawberry waffles were the best he’s ever had. The kimchi eggs were great! Bar service was so on point as well.
Amazing strawberry waffles and service! We loved the espresso martini flight! We went back twice during our trip.
I think today was an off day - we waited over 30 minutes after siting down before I had to go ask somebody to take our order. The manager seemed irritated, did not apologize, and didnt warn us the kitchen was backed up and food was taking around 30 minutes to come out. One of my group had to leave before our food arrived. The broccolini pasta was absolutely delicious once I got it, and the waiter was helpful at the end when we needed to pay quickly.
Loved this place. Made a last min reservation for a co workers birthday and they were so happy to accommodate a large group of 10 during lunch rush hour. Jake was our server, so attentive. He even willingly brought out a cake with candle without even asking him to do so. Thanks so much for making our birthday lunch so enjoyable. Will be back.
I have nothing against the food, which is relatively good. We came for lunch, waited one hour for our dishes to come out. Were not kept updated about the status of our lunch until we inquired. Were not comped anything (such as a drink) to compensate for the unacceptably long wait. There was no real apology. Only a comment as to how the server hoped that our dishes were worth the wait. The restaurant had significantly emptied a half hour before our food arrived so excuses about large parties having to be served first fell on deaf ears. We were on vacation, but had we been working or had anything scheduled, we would have had to get up and leave before eating. Needless to say, we wont be returning.
Myesha is the BESTTTT bartender - hands down - BEST Expresso Martini Flight EVER !! AMAZINGGGGGGG !!!!
Tjake was amazing!! Super sweet, very accommodating. Went above and beyond! Great breakfast spot!
Great spot for dinner! Wednesday nights are half price bottle of wine night, which is great for after work drinks. Their steak frites is really yummy and the price point makes it all the more appetizing. The staff are always friendly and keen to have a chat. Definitely recommend it for anyone in the area!
I picked this place for brunch with a friend based on reviews alone, not knowing Midtown well. I genuinely do not know how this has a 4.6. First of all, it’s in a hotel which I wasn’t anticipating by the website. The food was genuinely very poor quality. I got avocado toast with a poached egg and it didn’t feel fresh. The avocado tasted like a premade spread, the poached egg grossed me out, and there were so many pickled onions on my toast that the whole thing tasted pickled. Lastly, the feta cheese reminded me of cheap feta. Low quality, icky food. It also felt a bit dirty inside. I don’t know if it actually was but the menus were sticky and seats felt old and worn in. I would not return or recommend . Service was fine but nothing special.
Very unique and modern atmosphere. Chicken sandwich was very good, little messy. Drinks are excellent prices and very good. I recommend the Margot robbie. Fish sandwich was very good, as was the burger. Kinda messy with all the sauces, but the flavors are all there. Service was good. 8.5/10
Enjoyed eating lunch here! I did have a reservation but it wasn’t needed since it wasn’t that busy around 12:30pm. I got the quinoa grain bowl and it was seasoned very well and didn’t need the sauce that it came with. I also got an iced coffee which was tasty. The service was quick and the food came out quickly as well.
We did not expect the wonderful experience! Jake was our waiter, the Host Adam was super helpful and Taylor. They were very attentive to our timing and food and tiramisu was great! We’ll be back!!
It was amazing! the interior is gorgeous and the service was amazing! everyone was so kind. i would def recommend to anyone looking for a fun, cute place to get some brunch!!! jake is the best! happy hour is great!
We had reservations for lunch here today and decided to sit outside since we had beautiful weather. Sitting outside is served by the bartender, whom was extremely unpleasant and lacked all service skills. We stood there for a good 10minutes deciding on what to eat before, the bar was filled with dirty dishes and glasses and once we were ready to order without even acknowledging us she stated to a coworker that was helping her behind the bar, they have to wait....unpleasant, bad attitude, rude,.... We walked out. went to Spyglass rooftop a few feet away and had an amazing lunch with beautiful views!!
4.5 stars - Came here with a party of 6 for dinner around 6:30 on a thursday night. It was really easy to make a reservation and also the restaurant wasn’t too full so you could probably walk in as well. Everything was delicious and the staff was very nice. We had one hiccup, 2 people ordered fish and chips and one order only came with one fish filet while the other one came with 2. Not sure how they portioned it but we pointed it out to the waiter and he added another filet asap which was nice.We started off with the Crispy Halloumi and the Blistered Brussel Sprouts as appetizers for the table. The Crispy Halloumi was so yummy, especially if you are a cheese/halloumi lover I would recommend! The brussel sprouts weren’t super crispy but the sauce was delicious.I got the Spicy Shrimp Vodka Rigatoni for my entree and it was delicious- no complaints!Come again? I’m not dying to come again but I would be down to. It’s a good place that’s not too overhyped so reservations are easy and no long wait!
Karson was welcoming and helpful. The spicy chicken wings were delicious. The espresso martini flight is a great deal. Can’t wait to come back!
Had an awesome time and the server Enrique was super friendly and informative! It was a great vibe for friends on a Sunday brunch!
The atmosphere and ambiance are great! Love the decor and how they laid the joint out. I was expecting more from the menu honestly, but what I chose was delicious.
We arrived at shortly after 5pm. We were seated and waited 20 minutes for our server. We finally went in, bc we thought perhaps we needed to order inside. The server came out, and we ordered our happy hour drinks, an app, and dinner, and shared that we had 7pm tickets. We waited another 30 minutes. At 6pm, the server said the bar was “backed up”, and that our food should be out shortly. We said that we had wanted our drinks prior to our meal (espresso martini doesn’t go great with fish and chips), and the server shrugged and said it was, “up to us”, and that the drinks could be canceled. Our food finally came out (and it was just an app and one fish and chips) at 6:20. So after being there more than an hour; that was all we ever received. We wolfed down our food and fled to the theater. Terrible service, terrible first night in the city
Very good burger and rigatoni. A bit too spicy. Awesome side salad.Espresso was sour and tiramisu was sub par.
Stopped into Isla and Co for drinks before a Broadway show with some of my best friends. We didnt know what Australian food was, but we were all pleasantly surprised. The ambiance was amazing with a classical/nutcracker/symphony playlist dropping in some surprisingly familiar music, like the theme from Harry Potter and Jurassic Park lol! Quite an impromptu topic of conversation trying to remember what movie some of these orchestras were playing for!The food was also amazing! I had the truffle fries and the Kung Pao Cauliflower which were both delicious. TJ came over to take our order and immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome, his service was beyond reproach. After explaining the food menu and making some of his own personal recommendations, he described all of the ingredients in each of the three cocktails included in the Espresso Martini Flight. The bartender Myesha puts together beautifully garnished cocktails that taste outstanding! She is a super talented barista and artistic as well!Even when TJ explained he had to go downstairs to fix an issue in the kitchen, another server, Jake swooped in to take over and provided exactly the same level of friendly and accommodating service. From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere, but most of all the service, Isla and Co is a 10/10 experience and I will definitely be back! LOVED IT!
Excellent brunch! I could definitely recommend this to anyone visiting NYC!
Marianna was the best!! She was so kind in helping me celebrate my birthday. She deserves all the praises. This happy hour is the bomb. Highly recommend the espresso martini
Love the little Aussie spot! The cocktails are great I especially liked the cheeky negroni and the espresso martini. You can also order classic cocktails instead of picking from the menu, the bartenders def know what they’re doing! Our server was super helpful with selecting dishes as we wanted to share and make sure we got enough food. My favorite dishes were the brussels sprouts and the halloumi but it was really fun to try the kangaroo skewers (and made it feel very Australian!) I also liked the farro cakes that come with a tangy whipped cheese.Perfect spot for a group dinner.
Stopped into an Australian Restaurant in midtown, Isla and Co, for a quick bite before a broadway show. TJ immediately welcomed us and offered us drinks. He recommended the espresso martini for me and the basil gimlet for my fiancé. Marianna the bartender has some serious skills bc both drinks were delicious! TJ also recommended the kangaroo Tucker and kung pao cauliflower for apps, and I couldn’t believe how delicious they were, especially the Greek-style Kangaroo dish!!! Cucumbers and tahini were the perfect addition. Also, the chicken Parma and Steak frites were on point. Great food, great drinks, a chill ambiance, and top notch service. I give it a 10/10 and will definitely be going back! Big thanks to TJ Marianna and the team at Isla!!!
Hoppin Good Time at Isla and Co. – Kangaroo Skewers for the Win!Let me tell you, folks, if you’ve ever dreamed of traveling to Australia but cant manage the flight, just hop on over to Isla and Co. (pun intended)! This place is an absolute gem in the heart of the city, serving up incredible Australian cuisine with a side of charm and great service thatll make you feel like you’re dining Down Under.First, lets talk about the kangaroo skewers. Yes, you read that right – kangaroo skewers. If you’re not feeling adventurous yet, trust me, these little morsels will change your life. Perfectly grilled, tender, and seasoned like they were kissed by an Aussie sunset, they’re a must-try! (Plus, how many times can you say you’ve had kangaroo on a stick?)The rest of the menu is equally stellar – from the fresh seafood to the lamingtons that transported me straight to the Sydney Opera House. Every dish was a party in my mouth, and I was the guest of honor. And the service? Out-of-this-world amazing. The staff were so friendly and attentive, I half-expected them to call me mate and bring me a pet koala. They made excellent recommendations and made sure my table felt like the VIP section (without the ridiculous price tag). The atmosphere is a perfect blend of cozy and trendy, with just enough Aussie flair to make you feel like you’re on holiday without leaving the city.Isla and Co. is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience. So, go for the food, stay for the great service, and don’t forget to order the kangaroo skewers. You’ll be bouncing back for more in no time. Cheers, mates!P.S. Don’t forget to tell your friends – it’ll make you sound adventurous and cultured at your next dinner party!
Food was delicious and TJ was SO wonderful! He was friendly and so great to our group of 8. We tried Kangaroo for the first time and had a wonderful time.
Really great food….. get the kangaroo. Holy cow that tahini spread with it. The espresso martini flight was to die for. Great serving staff. A wonderful experience! My only complaint would be that is gets really loud when it is full.
Food yummyBut my fault I should have said something but …when ordering drinks I asked for a glass of sparkling water however a large bottle of sparkling water was put on our table… I should have right then said excuse me I didn’t ask for a large bottle of water just a glass of water…Bill came and I was asked to pay $10.00 for said bottle of water and was told they were out of the smaller bottlesShould I not have been told this by our waitress’s Mariann?I paid this because “I ate the steak” and didn’t want to make any scene with my guestsSo Thank you for letting me vent hereOh and yes our server disappeared for a considerable time during our meal we had to ask to have her come to our tablenice person just not good serviceWon’t go back I hate being taken advantage ofTO OWNER: I admitting to consuming all 28oz by my statement I ate the steak. There should have an apology not a condemnation.
Service was fast and charming. Food was delicious!
Food was amazing so cute on the inside accommodated our party last minute!
Was a very good experience! Friendly staff, the food was amazing, everything we had is recommended, perfect cooked, perfect running eggs, etc etc…another place I highly recommended in NYC. Perfect for a brunch with friends or family.
Cute place. Great service. Staff is very nice. Good WiFi for me to kill a few hours between meetings and dinner. Not crazy about the cocktails but loved the wine
Juan was a great waiter! Excellent food and quick service
Food was great, staff was extremely friendly and the whole atmosphere is nice. The staff went above and beyond, even recommending us hidden spots for us to see on our first time in NYC. Shout out to Juan, who was not our waiter but made sure we had what we needed at all times.
We went here for brunch. Many options for both food and drink. Will definitely come back.
Great service and atmosphere! Food was tasty. Overall, amazing brunch spot!
Visited for brunch with a big group. The service was prompt and friendly. The espresso martinis were delicious, as was the sambal scramble. I wouldn’t recommend the kangaroo skewers — they were lacking in flavor and seemed a touch overcooked.
Very tasty food. Just wonderful! My first experience when I really relaxed and ate deliciously. Enrique was just wonderful!
I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant. I Give this restaurant 5 stars because the service was top notch, the food was delicious and I enjoyed my drinks. Great selection of food that I couldnt pick at first. I was torn. The ambiance was beautiful. Its so inviting. Hands down, the food was delicious. I had the Fried Fish Sando Sandwich with fries. My sandwich was so good. I enjoyed it. Not too crispy and not too fried hard. Cooked perfectly. The fish was so fresh and had a nice taste plus having tartar sauce on the sandwich I loved. I even asked for cheese on my fish sandwich and AJ made sure I got it. I have had fish sandwiches before but this fish sandwich is my all time favorite. The best I have ever had. Kudos to the chief. The fries were cooked perfectly. Not greasy at all, just a hint of sauce and definitely not soggy. My friend ordered the Crispy Chicken Sando sandwich. She enjoyed it as well. Was cooked to perfection. I ordered the Basil Gimlet. This drink was so smooth, not spicy at all. My friend ordered the East Side Spritz and Smoke Show as well. She enjoyed them both. AJ and TJ were great servers. AJ gave me great recommendations for drinks, and TJ was helpful in explaining the menu to me and accommodating my order. TJ knew the menu and even answered out questions about what was in the drink. I will definitely come back here. This place is a gem.
This is a hidden gem, located in the Hendricks Hotel. The food was delicious and the price point was amazing for the value and quality. The service was exceptional .
Sever was great. Kangaroo was so good! Always wanted to try it. Presentation was great and all the flavors worked. Lamb rague was literally a bowl of heaven. Lamb was braised perfectly and sauce was perfect consistency. I’m a chef and I appreciate food cooked like this!
Delicious food! Kind service! Comfortable and stylish atmosphere! The Thai cauliflower was sweet and tasty! The Isla burger was great!
Jake was an awesome waiter! The food was fantastic, and the coco decline espresso martini was 🔥 - I would happily come again!
The food was good.. the entree was huge in portions.. easily serves two. I found the service was slow and refills were not preemptive
We had a fantastic meal and wonderful service! I must go to place when you are in NYC!
Insanely good. Some of the best cocktails in the area and not a single dish that wasnt tasty. Will be returning!
Jake did a great job recommending drinks! Service was great! Love the vibe. #hiddenvibe
A pretty cool find in Midtown, with a small but well-focused menu and a plethora of drinks. I, for one, am not a big drinker, so I suppose I missed out on some of this experience. However, the food was good. I came for dinner and had the roasted octopus and half chicken. The octopus wasnt rubbery and the accoutrement was nice and acidic, sparking my appetite. The char on the tentacle was delicious and not overpowering. The chicken was called half but it felt more like a quarter, since it was maybe only part of a thigh and the breast with a drumette? Unless they were using really small chickens. There were some crispy parts, but most of the skin is rubbery since it is covered with a sauce of lentils. The yogurt sauce was nice and mild. The zucchinis were cooked until soft, but they had a lot of water content still, which diluted the roasted flavor I was hoping for. Overall, both dishes were good and I was full at the end. The wait times for the food seemed a little puzzling, but I didnt think it was too ridiculous? Overall it was about an hour and 15 minute visit for me.The staff were very nice. This location was smack dab in a hotel lobby enteance so I ended up asking the concierge where the restaurant was. The waiters were attentive to keep my water filled. However, perhaps due to the slow foot traffic, there were not many people walking the floors. Still very nice people. The ambience is dimly lit with medium level music so as to not drown out conversation, as many patrons come just to drink and talk. The decoration is interesting, with rods and textured walls. The few plants that dot the periphery are noticeable. The bathroom seemed hard to find for people though. The outdoor dining area was empty when I came over, probably because its getting chilly. This was a solid dinner visit for me overall.
Slow to take the order and bring the food. The menu is extensive, we ordered the Caesar salad and wings to share, they were good but not great
Great food and the best Martinis ever!
Nice date spot! Cute ambiance, not noisy. Liked the martini flight except for the olive oil martini which I couldnt drink. Would try other martinis next time. The service was a bit slow. Prices were good!
Definitely better than expected. Loved the vibe of the restaurant and Jake from Aussie was a Gem!! Great place
Stopped by for the espresso martini flight and it was amazing! definitely worth the price, the flavors were so good. our only hiccup was the speed of service, it took us ~20 minutes to get our flights during lunch, but no complaints once we got them. we’ll be back!
I and my friend went in for a casual lunch. We were asked if we had a reservation and because we didn’t, we were seated near the entrance/exit even though the main dining area was empty except for one table. After ordering we waited for quite a while until the server came over and offered my friend chicken wings because her pasta (?!) was going to take a while more. With her wings, she brought my burger and fries which were cold like they had been sitting there. Needless to say I did not enjoy my cold meal.I was done eating and my friend still hadn’t gotten her food. We tried to call the server to cancel but she kept avoiding us and later brought the pasta with a to go box. When we tried to pay, we were being charged for the “complimentary” wings. We asked for it to be removed and the server put in a discount of the overall bill instead of removing it.Overall it was not a pleasant experience and we didn’t enjoy a nice lunch together. This was our first visit and not sure if it’s a one time situation or the usual. But for the price ($30 for a cold burger after tax+tip) I won’t be checking them out again.
Very very nice. Highly recommend the burrito with avocado. TJ was great! Myesha was also a fantastic bartender.
Very disappointed, because we were waiting for service for almost 40 minutes. Waiter didn’t even bother to check on us! We had to leave. Such a shame, so much competition in the NYC, you should improve.
I stumbled upon this place, and now its one of my favorite go-to spots. The vibes are really good, and the staff is super nice. I cant get enough of their Quinoa Bowl!
Great food . Friendly and professional staff . Nice ambience.Val is the best . Antoine was very warm and made us feel relax while dining. Must try their medjool dates cake.
Our daughter who passed away was named Isla! You did her name proud! Thank you so much!
Great service, Martini flight was top notch. Australian waiter was authentic, friendly and awesome. Cheers
That was the worst breakfast ever. Starting from waiter service (not welcoming)not even mentioning the food.Avocado toast SO VERY SALTY (avocado has salt + salty cheese on top) - impossible to eat.Poached egg +$3 extra/ 1pcStrawberry cheesecake waffles had weird HUGE CHUNK pieces of sugar (which waiter said ‘usually normal’)Bottles of Water standing opened next to entrance…Never coming back
Absolutely enjoyed this place!!!! I had the kimchi scramble and it was delicious! The expresso flight ❤️❤️❤️❤️ kangaroo Tucker was different but in a nice flavorful way!
The orange juice was made from fresh orange and it was sweet! We ordered isla power bowl and burger. The burger was just so so
Had the vodka rigatoni, which was decent comfort food. However, this eatery missed a few notes for me. First, there were fries under the table which was puzzling for a 5pm first seating. Next was the coat rack positioned smack in front of a weirdly tucked-off bathroom hindering access/waiting space (good thing the doors open inward). Lastly, there was PVC piping that had fallen off that was just laying by the sink. Definitely felt like more of a harried high-traffic (which it was not) Starbucks, passing itself off as sit-down fine dining.
My partner and I are both from Aus, and we wish we went to Isla & Co sooner. The food and coffee was by far the best we have had in the US. They also hire Aussies which we liked, and it was nice to have a chat with Adam. For the time we were there, it felt like we were back in Melbourne!
Went here for Valentine’s Day and had a really great time! The staff are super attentive and the ambience was nice. We got the brussels sprouts, the octopus and the raviolo (which may have only been a special menu item) but all these dishes were really good. From the cocktails, the espresso martini and kings cup were our favorite. We’ll definitely be back!
Was sad bc didn’t get to eat the kangaroo but everything else was great!!highly recommend the fish sando
Excellent food and service. One of the best restaurants I have ever visited.
Very yummy avocado toasts for a lazy Sunday brunch - make sure to get the add-ons (salmon and poached eggs). Great service too - Jake and Taylor were fantastic!
Staff was very friendly, kangaroo was phenomenal, steak was tender and flavorful, french fries were crispy and delicious and served with an amazing house sauce
Amazing service, staff is so lovely and kind and drinks are nice and tasty but not “heavy”. Food is not great but it’s not bad either, it’s good for being attached to a hotel. Waffles are great and so is avocado toast. Hummus and octopus we didn’t like.
TJ is THE man! Great experience, and made sure we had a blast. Will request him when back
Despite the hotel setting, this restaurant impresses with delicious food! The only downside? Their signature charred octopus is only available after 5pm. So plan your visit accordingly to savor this must-try dish alongside their other culinary delights.
Solid food & service in a nice outdoor space! Friendly Aussie staff. Kangaroo is on the menu!
Outstanding service and food here at Isla and Co. The atmosphere is super laid back and friendly. Definitely give the Crispy chicken sandwich a try its phenomenal.
The playlist tonight was pretty epic. Musical scores or movies was super creative and triggered amazing conversation at our table
Very awful service. After order we had to wait for 40 minutes to get the food. Shocking. We were about to abort. Didn’t expect
Great food and great service! Lots of drink options too.Best service I’ve had in the city
Food, drinks, and service was amazing! Also the happy hour deals are great
Great service, good portions, and ambiance!
Really great spot for brunch!! Food was delicious and the espresso martini flight was a fantastic variety of flavors! Our waiter was so friendly and super helpful when it came to deciding what to order :)
Lovely happy hour spot. Focus on seafood options. Fish and chips were good, calamari was good, Caesar salad was excellent
Beautiful restaurant and perfect brunch spot! Bartender(female) said she was new and she was amazing. As an Isla, was a fun place to go on my birthday!
Love TJ! I have a lot of allergies and he took care of me and he was very pleasant to talk to!
I went solo for a long post day work day and had the best experience. I had the spicy shrimp pasta and it was to die for. The espresso martini flights had all the girls dying, of course I had to partake. Enrique was my server and Victor was whipping up the best drinks. These gentleman were so kind to keep me company and make conversation. The music was on point, the ambience was moody & lovely. I would highly recommend!
I dined here last night. Service was great; hostess and servers were prompt and friendly. The vibe was good—a bit loud but a nice ambience, though they could use another restroom—seemed to only have one single unisex option so it was busy and there were often people waiting—it was directly behind our table. They offered us a free espresso martini flight because apparently they had made an extra and we had already ordered two individual martinis—a nice gesture. Sadly—the food was a disappointment. Lack of flavor and nothing remarkable. Fish and chips entree —one piece of fish and basic fries. Burger was well cooked but again, needed more seasoning or something. I asked for mine without the bun, and it also arrived without the promised kimchi which would have helped. The only thing we all enjoyed were the Brussels Sprouts. But really, nothing to distinguish this fare as Australian versions of familiar dishes.
Really good service, Enrique was great, even found my new favorite cocktail for me. Food and drinks, both really good!
TJ was amazing! Such great service and awesome food and espresso martinis.
Awesome place, delicious food, good prices. Half price wine bottles on weds.
Everything was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. Olive Oil Espresso Martini is an absolute must.
TJ was great and his play list is the best! Definitely making my way back!
I really liked the place and the food was very tasty! 👏🏽 Great service!
What a delightful oasis. I read all the reviews and anyone giving below a 5-- are they even here ? Served immediately -- HH all 7 days!!! So reasonably priced -- especially in midtown. We ate outside. Juan was the consummate professional !!!! Found my new HH go to !!
Andres was amazing and the food is delicious, fresh, clean tasting and light. Idk how else to explain it. I enjoyed every bite.We had the scallops, branzino, roasted broccoli and roasted escarole. For dessert the chocolate cake.We shared everything amongst 3.Don’t hesitate and try this place. Soooooo goood!
Came here after a long day with my 6yr touring NY. They were awesome about letting him nap since he was so exhausted. That means the world to us single moms. The food, service and drinks are AMAZING! Highly recommend and will come back for the Coco Devine drink w/o the kiddo next time. 🤤🤣😉
What a gem of a find in Midtown--only wish I knew about it sooner. Met four friends here for brunch, and it was delightful. Juan was a lovely server, so welcoming. Food was great. I had the eggs Benedict. Martini was beautiful. Not overstimulating and loud like many places midday on a weekend are. Highly recommend!
Tj took such good care of us literally best service!!! And omg the drinks Diego made, STUNNNNNING. Best Wednesday ever!! Wait... the food. Definitely try the cauliflower and rigatoni! The green curry is also a yummmaliciousss surprise
I also ordered the Spring Fling saladI still can’t get over that the server brought our salads half naked. I have never seen that at a restaurant. Says a lot of the chef and how they might not have pride with other things coming from their kitchen. The service wasn’t good but at least they were nice I guess. The Brussel sprouts were really good but get them to go.
Accidentally got into this place by pass by. The food is good also the vibe. I love the oyster. This place is a part of the hotel. You can find it easily.
On November 23-24 I was staying at the Hendricks hotel at 25 38th Street in Manhattan. In the morning on the 24th, I was working on one of my internet poetry portal in the lobby of the hotel, when I noticed the bar on my right opening. A very young girl of 19-22 years old, was setting up chairs and testing the coffee machine. I asked for a double espresso and a shot of Irish whiskey, feeling exhausted after a full night of hard work, only to hear that we are not open yet. Feeling despot, I offered double pay, to only be humiliated further with another denial. It was time for me to leave the hotel anyway, so I went up to my room to pack and an hour later came down the lobby again, asking for the same order... TO BE DECLINED AGAIN, BECAUSE THE YOUNG LADY JUST DIDNT LIKE ME !!!I am an artist and an internet producer of 56, living in New York for 28 years, and while I was denied service in bars in NY before, BUT NEVER LIKE THIS !!!So, I am awarding this Isla enterprise a special award for - THE WORST SERVICE EVER IN A BAR IN NEW YORK.
Great service and food. Juan was amazing. I’ll be back! Good music too!
So good! Just in town for a few days and loved the food, drinks (especially the espresso martini) and ambiance!
Went here for dinner. Service was slow and clueless, the guy was friendly though. Cocktails were average, they sounded great on the menu but was underwhelmed with the lack of flavor. Ordered the Halloumi, lamb ragu, and chicken Parma. I could barely tell it was halloumi cheese, it was over fried, which really took away from the flavor. The lamb ragu was just ok, but nothing special. The chicken Parma was terrible, so heavy without any flavor, and the salad was swimming and dressing. it was so bad that we sent it back and got the chicken sandwich instead. However, that was a deal and itself as we told the server we didn’t like it we wanted to put it in a box to go. Huh? Why would we want something that we don’t like? I had to tell him that we wanted to send it back and get a different item, he said he hadto check on that. 10 minutes later he finally came back and said ok and asked us what he wanted instead. It then took another 15 minutes for us to get our new food. After that, they never came back unless we flagged them down. Never coming back here again.
We really enjoyed our dinner! Great food. The spicy prawns vodka rigatoni is out of this world. The kids had steak frites and really loved it! Wonderful customer service. Thank you Jess!
Brunch at Isla & Co was exceptional, largely due to Juan, our attentive waiter. His service was top-notch, making our experience memorable. Another waitress and the staff also provided excellent service, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable meal. The food was delicious, but it was the staff, particularly Juan, who made it stand out. Highly recommend. I pray they are compensated well!
Everything was great, mostly my company, but TJ rocks as well!
Long time friends came to big Apple to visit so took them for a brunch here. Food is mediocre, not too many options and it took so long to wait on the food to be served. Service is the deal breaker, one waiter, tall one, was even rushing us to pay for the bill and leave by checking our table very frequently, very annoying.
Best scrambled eggs and amazing value! Mini big brekkie was $14 and was almost enough for two meals
Incredible server! Great vibes and really intelligent when it comes to items on the menu!
Met with a friend for Sunday brunch - had a lovely, unrushed experience with good food in a chill atmosphere. Thank you!
TJ was the mannn AGAIN! He took such good care of us for a team holiday outing
Im giving this place 5 stars because the food was delicious! The cauliflower appetizer was so good! Also I ordered the Smoke Show which was a perfect cocktail. There is one unisex bathroom and a line for it. Also the bathroom door needs repair. It is very loud and annoying to listen to throughout our meal. I considered taking a star off because of this. However the restaurant design was nice, the music was perfect and the staff was professional.
Great food and atmosphere. TJ was our server and was fantastic!!
We had a fantastic time in Isla & Co. The service was fantastic and the food was lovely. Thank you for having us.
Best brunch in town
Really amazing dinner and service. Took my company team here for a dinner and we all had such an amazing time. Food was to quality and drinks were great as well
Great brunch spot. My daughter loves the strawberry waffles
Friendly staff, tasty apps and affogato dessert, cute outdoor patio! Don’t miss the hilarious menu.
So delicious and the staff was so kind and handsome
Amazing experience! Would recommend for sure.
TJ was so easy to look at. 110% coming back to see what color flannel he is wearing.
I arrived and waited to be set down. There were two girls at the entrance talking. Ive been waiting a while(!), surprised no one is coming. So I went further inside thinking maybe I should be sitting myself, then one of the girls that were talking (the one with the face to me!) asked me if I need a table. Like.. you see me. Ignore me. You just talking long with your friend (I literally thought they were waiting as well) , then when I was about to sit myself you woke up?.Unfortunately the service needs to be improved. She was ok after but the minute I finished it seems all she wants is for me to get up pay and go. She brought the machine to pay, she even took my water! . I havent done with it.The good thing, is that the food and drinks were excellent. Actually, the best avocado toast I had. I would have given it 5 stars otherwise.
Avocado toast 10/10 !!!! Love it !
Overall good and quiet place for lunch. They have a bar for drinks too.
Great food. Great service from TJ. Thanks.
Delicious meal, kangaroo skewers really good and steak and fries also really good
Taylor was amazing!!
Awesome food and cozy vibe!
Neat place with a great brunch! Amazing espresso martinis.
Get the espresso martini flight. Different flavors and different liquors for each one. Really yummy. Highly recommend.
Half price wine wed - get your drinking skirts on :) amazing ambience and great sausage roll
Great experience! Food was very tasty and the espresso martini flight is winning!
OG burger was delicious
A solid choice in a quiet dark neighborhood. Server was extremely nice and was working hard at managing many tables. The chicken wings were great, as was the green curry, sausage rolls and Caesar salad. Avoid the fish and chips which were too bready and lacked flavor.
It is an amazing place to have dinner. Great service and delicious food. Thank you Juan for the hospitality and service ✨
Cool Australian restaurant with amazing espresso martini flights! Very warm, inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food.Service: Ask for Jose—he’s rolo from Bogotá, and is really friendly.Food: The Brussel sprouts, halloumi, fish sando, fish and chips, lamb, and chicken parm were all excellent. We topped dinner off with the a floral affogato and a date cake, both which were 🤤Drink: Definitely recommend the flights of three different varieties of espresso martinis ☕️🍸 —one of which is made with olive oil(!) for $25 (and you can add on an regular espresso martini for $10 extra).Value: Despite being located in a hotel, it’s not crazy outrageously priced. A good value, I’d say!I wish I took pictures, but the other reviews are pretty spot on 👍
Great Casual brunch spot
It was an amazing experience! I really recomend this place! The attendent is soooo nice, the food it was delicious and the drink he recomended me!I order steak with fries!
Very good food!
Great atmosphere, amazing service with good suggestions, and awesome menu.
Just checked out this super cute restaurant! The inside Decor is so cute and welcoming with a friendly staff. The food was superb! I had the eggs Benedict and my friend had the breaking roll. The portions are generous. I’m sad I forgot to take few photos. But we will be going back for more soon!
Found this spot after leaving our hotel in search of a drink with some friends. We had 3 couples and we were only grabbing one drink before dinner so we claimed a spot outside on the patio and went in to order our drinks. I pulled open the menu on their website and saw a bourbon drink that got my attention. I tried ordering the drink off their menu to which the bartender responded thats not even our menu. .. it certainly was their menu, but who am I to argue. I apologized, and instead ordered an espresso martini like the rest of my group to hopefully make our order easier. While placing our drink order we also put in a dozen oysters, to which we were told they had none left. Totally fine, places run out of stuff. No big deal. I just thought it was strange that they had signs out for happy hour and oysters but ran out 1 hour into happy hour with a half full bar. Nonetheless we paid the tab and went outside to wait for the bartenders to run our drinks out. A half hour later we still had no drinks, so one of us went in to check to see if maybe they were ready and just needed to be carried out.. but that was not the case. After another half hour inside (putting us there for over an hour) our friend came out with only a refund. When we asked what happened he let us know that the bartenders told us they were too busy to make our drinks and that they understand we are busy but so are they and that maybe we should have made reservations... Dude we just wanted a signature cocktail and some oysters; this place could produce neither. We went across the street to the Irish bar and had drinks not even 3 minutes later. Im sure this place is good, but if they cant serve one round of 6 drinks without attitude, the quality doesnt matter. Id stay away based on our experience and the bartenders lack thereof.
Food and service was amazing 🗽❤️
Awesome place
Very good food and portion sizes! Plus gluten free options are great
Tj took good care of us. The food was incredible
Truffle fries are soooooo good
TJ’s service and playlist is the best! Good times!
Isla is always my go-to spot for delicious coffee and a welcoming, comfortable vibe!
Really nice placeStaff is really welcomingFood is great !
Service is excellent, food and drinks are fantastic, recommend to all.
Great food, great place! Great gluten free options!
Highly recommend this place!
Great food, lovely place but the musics a little to loud its hard to hear people at your table.
I usually don’t post reviews like this but this service has not been great. we did not get plates throughout our whole time even though we asked and our drinks took 40 minutes to arrive. the server barely paid any attention to us. The sad part is, all we got was hummus, halloumi and martinis and they barely could provide us with decent service
Jake was a great. Helpful and friendly. Great food.
The food and cocktails are top notch at this little spot. I had a spiced pineapple basil gimlet, crispy Brussel sprouts on a tangy, sweet sauce and a hummus appetizer that was so good and really stood out. It was so good that I went back the next night.
