Ordered steak fries and French dip steak, which estically looked pleasing but taste wise was very salty and dry. The salad though gave hope. Overall, was a one time experience, unfortunately would not recommend. The atmosphere though was chill and nice music. Wish I could say the same about the food.
Good burgers, but both the burgers and the sides are too small. The beef patty was juicy. The fries are just standard. I ended up ordering 2 burgers. Compared to Mel’s burger, I personally preferred the &Son hidden in the restaurant.
This burger was like 16$ lmaoand these unfinished onion rings were 10$ i have never seen an unfinished onion ring before. unreal.don’t go here. absolutely vile.
I am changing my review after my last experience (but will leave my old review up). I originally gave this place 5 stars but after the last time at Mels I am giving a barely star. These people cater to only white people and the sad part is the black staff also, ignores the black customers. Such a sad scene.Great quick bite to eat. Only 1 person served and waited, which took longer. The cheese burger specials were good for $12. You get cheese burger, fries and beef. The wings were hard and tasted as if they were freezer burn. Overall, its an ok atmosphere to get out without dressing up.
Mel’s is not what it used to be. I feel like the food has diminished in quality and service okay for the most part. The atmosphere on a sports night or Super Bowl event is always good but other than that not to bad.
I usually like Mels but this was crazy.... 1 piece of French toast for $29.... The other meals that were ordered at table were normal portion sizes... but for $29 getting 1 piece is legitimately a rip off. Dont order it.Their bottomless brunch is solid but this really annoyed me this time.
Such an amazing time! First time here with my friends and definitely loved and going back again. The staff was friendly and helpful “cheese burger was delicious and fried chicken was flavorsome” The atmosphere it was ok
Good burgers. Pricey. $10+ a la cart burgers and $7+ sides. Fries pickles are so so. Small serving and greasy. Decent beer selection. Friendly and attentive staff. Solid happy hour as well.
Beer and a game kinda place, don’t do food unless you just came from a dessert. They don’t seem to know what a club sandwich is
I’m gonna break down this review into three parts.First, the food. I got a cheeseburger with American cheese and it was 7/10 honestly. A little dry, and WAY too much lettuce. Next time I’ll ask for no lettuce. Anyway, the fries that I got were pretty fine, just a little too crispy and got nasty and cold quickly. 6/10. Overall low 4 ⭐️.Second, the service. Let me tell you, I had to wait 15-20 minutes to get a server’s attention for a water refill. The food takes ages to arrive, so I suggest coming here only for a milkshake or something other than lots of food. Overall high 2 ⭐️.Finally, the atmosphere. It was loud and crowded, and quite rowdy honestly. 3 ⭐️.Overall, it was very mid. Nothing too special, just an average American burger place. It was on the lower end, so that’s why I’m giving it 3 ⭐️.
Hidden gem for burgers & much more. Great ambience, menu and bar. Legendary Bottomless Brunches and huge screens for games.Eddie makes the best chopped salads & everyone in that kitchen is just awesome. Highly recommend!
Mel’s is the best local spot on the UES! Andre is a phenomenal bartender - he is always attentive and friendly. He even came up with a specialty drink for us which was delicious. He is always so friendly and willing to engage with us. Best service is at Mel’s!!
We recently booked a party there and had a great time. The food they had set up for us was pretty solid and the service was excellent. Did feel slightly pushed out at the end when our time was up but I dont blame them. Will definitely return!
Great place to watch a game. Lots of tv’s. Good beer selection and solid Cajun tots!
Came for brunch at 11:30am on a Sunday. No wait and good food...had the champagne in the table waiting for us. Love that we didnt have to wait to fill up our drinks. Music was great and vibe was great. Food was good, but nothing extra special.
If i could give zero just for the bartender’s behavior. My wife and I live one street down and we go there once in a while, food is okay however what happened the other day it’s beyond imagination. It was lunch time and we wanted to watch the Euros, we sat at the bar and asked her if she could put the sound on , her answer didn’t make any sense however soon to find out she was “ extremely busy at the end of the bar squeezing her arm pimples with some other weird bold customers, seriously is this what should happen at a nyc bar, your bartender vaping and squeezing her arm pimples then serving customers right after that. We left i didn’t stay and i will never come back to see her face, unprofessional, hygiene problem and disgusting. It’s sad as we really liked the waitress the day before when we went for the games and Lunch.
The burger doesnt look like much.Actually looks like you get robbed for $22, but it tastes really good.
Food is great. Drinks are good. The hamburgers are seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Good cheese options as well.
Football Sunday the place was packed. Atmosphere was festive. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Burger was tasty but, it was a little too greasy so the bun got a bit soggy, onion rings with Chipotle dip and fries were excellent. Overall we had a good time and would recommend.
The perfect spot when you have a burger craving. Went here for happy hour and a small bite and definitely didn’t disappoint. The sliders were really good! Cooked perfectly! The perfect bite with some fries and cocktails. Definitely hit the spot. Service was good as well. Highly recommend!
We rocked up to Mel’s and the staff completely ignored us. It was shortly after they had opened but we saw several other guests walk in and walk out for the same reason. I don’t understand how your staff just ignore guests who are there to patronize your establishment.
A nice place if you want to drink and get just a little rowdy. mostly a younger crowd. loud music. the food was fine, wings weren’t that great. i paid in cash and my change was $24.24 but did not receive the .24 cents. it’s only a couple coins but it’s the principle of giving what is owed…
We were here this past weekend for a post wedding brunch party of 20 or so. Loved the service and menu options. Very cute place. Food came out about the same time for all of us which was pretty incredible. Will definitely come back next time we are in NYC
Meh. Burgers are just ok. Fries are meh. Craft beers are weak. Drinks ordered neat are measured here instead of poured by eye like at a real bar. Service was very friendly and on point.
Easy wheelchair accessibility.Kid friendly.Great beer selection. Spicy Bloody Mary that needed a pickle instead of a lemon and a lime.
I LOVE Mel’s! Andre, the bartender is my favorite. He crafted a special personalized drink just for me and my friend and it was the best thing I’ve ever tasted. This is our go to place any day any time!!
Came here with my running group NYC Dragons for our post NYC Marathon celebration. Perfect atmosphere to enjoy with friends, food was delicious and services was great! Will definitely return.
Great place to gathering with friends or to eat. Drinks are excuse. Dine in, take out or ask delivery by app. Prices razonable. Excellent attendance. Hostess and waiters, bar tender. Well location at upper east Manhattan.
Always love going to this place. Staff are always friendly, good selection of beers, and burgers are really good.
This is a nice cozy comfortable divey sports bar. The burgers are some of the best Ive had. They come with shoestring fries, my personal favorite. Their bottomless brunch is a really good deal so Ill definitely be returning.
I went twice with a group of friends and both times were a lot of fun. One of our classmates is a waiter there and took really good care of us, and all the staff we met were friendly. I went for dinner on a Wednesday night and had the Cadillac Burger, it wasnt the most amazing burger Ive ever had but it was definitely the best one I had in NYC all summer! The fries are delicious (any kind). My margarita was just as perfect as described on the menu, a classic margarita is my go to anytime Im out so thats saying a lot. The second time I went was for brunch on a Saturday, here $30 for your entree and bottomless mimosas is just as good as it sounds. I had the hangover breakfast, and Id recommend you do the same if you want to get the most for your buck. The food was good, the drinks kept coming and we really enjoyed ourselves. And from what I could tell everyone else was having a good time as well, families/coworkers/couples, Mels is great for everyone.
We came here for brunch on a nice Sunday. They were able to accommodate us and find us a table in the shade to sit outside.Food: I got the avocado toast without the egg. It came on a croissant and I thought it would be a little more than avocado and bread. Thought there might be at least tomatoes or something on it. It still tasted pretty good but was just thin. My husband got the breakfast burrito. He said it was a bit dry because the sauces were on top instead of inside. Both meals came with tator tots and those were delicious!Price: We got an entree and bottomless for less than $35 per person so overall I do think it was a good deal. The ambiance of Mels is nice especially if youre going there to watch a game.Instagram Handle: @TheShahLALand
The service here was great, the atmosphere was awesome, and the burgers were delicious. after being rudely asked to leave JG Melon because they couldnt seat us my family and I decided to go to Mels. With a large party and it being Friday night we were expecting to wait regardless. They told us it would be about thirty minutes and they did not go a minute over! The staff was super friendly and accommodating, when we sat down or server was awesome and the food came out at a normal speed when the place was packed. Over all I was so pleased with everything that came about at Mels and would recommend it to anyone!
It was my first time at Mel’s! I ordered a deluxe bacon cheddar cheese burger with no onions and pickles and Frenchfries. The burger and bacon were pretty good! I just wish the fries weren’t so thin. I also ordered their rum punch drink. I liked it so much and it definitely did it’s job making me feel a little buzzed to the point where I would like to go again and try more meals off the menu and more rum punch drinks! The service wasn’t so great..the waitress was nice but was weird when she asked if the food tasted good lol and barely came around to see how everything was.
Wonderful place. Awsome burgers. The sweet potatoes are highly recomended. The staff is extremely Nice. Thanks!!
Friendly staff. The pretzel was a gloriously large and sharable creation that pairs well with beer on your way to filling a 50 beer Brew Crew card. The only reason this is not a 10/10 pretzel on #PretzelTour is that the outside could be a bit firmer. Still, super good.
Love crispy shoestring fries. French onion burger with dip v good, tasty meat nice bun. Just normal person size instead of the super huge burgers that cost more and are too much food. $25 with tax and tip @ 20%. Love Ireland style RR with wash sink in hall outside stalls. Dare you to leave without washing! Saw you!😵
Love this burger spot!!! Have been coming here for 8 years. Delicious food burgers, wings, tots, brunch you can’t go wrong. Friendly staff and good beer. Join the brew crew!!
My go-to spot - definitely a very local feel, but not pretentious. Incredibly huge selection of craft beers if thats your thing, and really really great food. Did not realize how spoiled I was by the burgers here; theyre actually incredible. So are the birria tacos. Shockingly good! And dont let anyone tell you otherwise: THIS is the best brunch in the city. No question, hands down. This is the SPOT.
Great lunch special and perfect spot to sit outside and enjoy the Fall weather. Noticed they had really good Happy Hour and Gameday specials as well. Large spot with sweeping bar and spacious back area.Clean restrooms and attentive service.
Pretty good happy hour and daily special of a Mels beer with a tequila shot for $5.00 #LocalGuides #OnGoogleMaps
Food is good, service is good. Its a bar/burger joint. Nothing wow, but its a good spot to just chill and grab a burger and a brew.
It was okay!! Atmosphere was nice, music was great. I had the Not Your Kids Grilled Cheese. It was pretty good, but it could have been, I dunno, more decadent?? Cheesier?? Good, though. It came with wavy potato chips which appeared to be house made but were under-salted and low on flavor. The fries were OKAY, and I say that as someone who adores fries AND was super hungry. Blue cheese dressing for fries was a miss, it just tasted creamy, no zing.
Good burger.Good service.
Place is good. Good is not the best ever and it’s def not bad or less than good. Do you want a burger and tots? Come here. Will you enjoy and maybe not remember? Possibly. Solid 4 stars.Other notes : great service. Solid beer list.
Glad to know that both locations are equally as good! Just finished eating and drinking here and the happy hour, French dip sliders, and service were all perfection with a side of affordability! Couldn’t ask more from a spot in such a location.
Very nice cheese burger and garlic fries.
Came here for lunch on a Friday around noon and thoroughly enjoyed my food and the service.Ordered the lunch special (burger, fries and a beer/soda for $12!) and am very pleased to say it was a pretty good burger. Ill def be back again.
So i guess I went in there with my hopes too high having read their reviews. Although the waitress was great, the food was not. Appetizers and entrees came to the table at the same time, my burger was dead and had no life left and the onion rings tasted like I was drinking oil from the bottle. The mac and cheese balls werent so bad but they oversold it. Only got 1 star because of the waitress who did a good job with food that wasnt worth it.
I came in on New Years Eve to grab brunch. It was crowded, and it was just two of us, and we were quickly seated. We sat roughly 10 minutes before we were helped, and when we finally were helped, we noticed the server had been sitting with the table next to us chatting. I would have passed this off and given a 4 star rating, as the food was good, but it was a long wait. I will give it another try for sure!
I came here with my friends to try the GameDay deal because I ate here once, and the food was incredible. Safe to say that I didnt survive but its a great deal to do for a few hours while watching a number of games on their various tvs. Its definitely a place to come with two or more ppl.
Great burgers, friendly service
Such a cool place! It’s such a fun and cool spot to hang out and get food! I’ve been here so many times and I love the food! I’m not a huge burger fan, but they have AMAZING burgers! I would also recommend their sweet potato fries and their milkshakes!
Walked in at 7:43pm on Sunday 2/26. There was a hostess sitting at the hostess stand looking down. We asked if we could please have a table for two. She glared at us in disgust for 30 seconds until she finally said “sit wherever you like” with an attitude as if we were stupid. We were so appalled at how she looked and spoke to us we left and went somewhere else for dinner. This was my first time attempting to dine here. Now, I’ll never step foot in one of your restaurants again. Hire less miserable people.
I am rather picky about burgers and don’t order them often. You need to order your quarantine food here, my burger and waffle fries were perfect, well done withMayo, bacon and blue cheese. Austin was great and the margarita was superb. I willDEFINITELY be back!
Haven’t been to Mel’s since shutdown, and was curious the many times I’ve passed by. Finally committed to a meal and drink(s) this evening…so glad I did. Sitting outside, a very friendly and informative waitress helped me make a great meal choice: the Adult Happy Meal (hilarious, attn-grabbing name). Offering a prime burger (NY strip) deluxe with cocktail / beer - before 7pm - this meal left this adult happy. Mel’s beer choice is fun, with a good mix of known and unknown (I count myself an exbeerienced novice). Then there were the chicken tenders - cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious with no aftertaste whatsoever (I will now trust Mel’s with buffalo wings next time). And then - I didn’t go alone - the Mac n cheese balls with marinara sauce, my high-risk choice, were a nice, tasty surprise. An evening well spent. Only complaint: inside / rear seating by the BRs was cold (person with me couldn’t sit in main area with the tall seats due to being in a transport chair) but that’s my only whine, and to be fair I didn’t ask for a climate change, opting to sit outside which was enjoyable. Happy to claim Mel’s UES as an excellent local destination.
Looking for an amazing lunch spot in NYC? Look no further! With great service and an incredible atmosphere, this is the place the NYC Dragons love to visit. Come join us and experience this must-try spot yourself. Thank you, Andrej! #NYCDragonsFavoritePlace
We sat ourselves outside. Ordered a deluxe burger. Was told it would come with tomato and lettuce. It didn’t. When I told the person serving my burger that I was told it would come with lettuce and tomato, he replied “it’s not written here”. Had to ask 3 separate people for mustard. I got up myself and got a napkin (I was never given any) from another table because I had had it with the staff. Horrible service. Average burgers.
I usually go to the Mels burger on the west side and I absolutely love it. This one, not so much. I was seated promptly, my order was taken fast and the staff there are very friendly. First issue with my order was my girlfriends burger was undercooked, then my burger came with a pickle that had a bite mark in it (that was remedied). They then forgot our French fries and told us it would be out in about 2 minutes, it took 5 and it was a half empty bowl of fries and we were charged for that. Other then that, the food is excellent and the service was very nice. I am sure this was a fluke but it must not happen again. There are way to many choices in that neighborhood and in order for Mels to last it needs to fix this.
Better than Bareburger in a more grown up atmosphere. But its really the same idea. Food is passable but nothing too special. This kind of concept seems perfectly suited to be replicated in strip malls across the country as a more upscale Ruby Tues.. The middle of the road flavors certainly have mass appeal. But for me there are better burger options in the hood with far better quality.I almost forgot that the Mac n cheese was so bad my kids wouldnt even eat it. It was like a watery Kraft mac n cheese. They really should stop serving it...embarrassing.The staff is always really nice though and there are good beers on tap so thats a start.
A great place for watching sports. Their bottomless wings and beer special is the best in the UES and the staff are super friendly.
Food was okay, not a place I would choose to go back to. Service was pretty bad honestly, nobody stopped over during the meal to see how it was and it seems that the staff is more interested in socializing with each other than working. The food wasn’t cheap and they nickel and dime you for everything. Best is at the end once I paid I was having a conversation at the table, the waitress comes up and says “So you’re going to leave a tip on the table... right?” Like yeah even though the food and service were lacking I’m still leaving a tip, kinda just strikes me as a rude way to approach a customer.
I dont eat burgers very often. When I do I find myself at shake shack or at JG.Gave this place a try since it had good reviews and was available on seamless at the hour I wanted a Burger.Have to say, I was pleased. Just the right amount of fat, perfectly medium rare.
The burgers are tasty but a bit small and the side of tots/fries isn’t very generous.I’m not usually a wings guy, but their trashed wings are awesome - really meaty and crunchy. This is a good spot to watch a game and have some standard American fare. The interior is pretty cool, you’ll have a good time.
Great food & draft beer. A must visit venue. Stop by...Say hello to Stephen & Teresa. The Bartenders. Dont forget Myra The Hostess. Cheers To ALL 🍺🍺🍺.
Great service, the Burgers were Delicious and Super tasty. Fries were a little overcooked, but fine.
A nice sports bar. Used to be very college kid focused but is a lot more food focused it seems.
When you have the word burger in your name, the critique standard should be a little more strict. Luckily for Mels Burger, they meet all of the items I would consider on that checklist. The size and taste of the burgers are very gracious, we had the Hot Mess and W.T.F, and they were both impressive. The menu has a variety of burgers, and also includes vegetarian and grilled chicken options. The restaurant, in pure NY fashion, is surprisingly large in size, and is filled with TVs showing live sports. Kids are welcome too, as plenty of families were seated throughout the restaurant (our experience was at 3 PM on a Saturday). On a side note, if youre looking for bargain, the have a beer and a shot (whiskey or tequila) for $5--cant beat that!
Decent burgers, I had the Backyarder, adding potato chips adds a satisfying crunch with each bite. They could use some better beer/tap options. Chill vibe, attentive staff.
For a burger bar the flavor in the burgers could be better they are a little bland. But overall good place to grab a beer and watch a sport game. The bartender is friendly.
Burger was raw, server was amazing but the drink we ordered took a little too long considering most people were just drinking beer at the bar. A simple margarita shouldn’t take 5+ minutes. Disappointed because I’ve been here before and it was good. The “medium rare” burger tasted like it was just born, very raw. You would expect for a place called “Burger Bar” the simple burger would be their best dish. Other patron was also obnoxious drunk, yes, it’s a bar but once you bother other guests, give ‘em the boot.EDIT:ORIGINAL SERVICE RATING: 3 STARSREASON FOR 1: After leaving my review the response from the owner via google maps respond was tasteless and did not address anything that I brought up. If a guest has a problem with your MAIN DISH you should seriously consider having a more personalized response and action.
Had the best burger here! Definitely get the backyard burger and had the best bartender, Andrey knew exactly what to recommend!
Andrey behind the bar is the best. The food and wings are pretty tight but Andrey is cute and awesome. 10/10!
Came to MEL’s as I was craving burger and beer.Vaccine card checked at the door. Sat at the bar- friendly bartender ( female) forgot her name but she was awesome. Made a delicious beer rec- “flower power “ which is HOPPY IPA! My fave. Cheese burger with avo and yam fries. I was surprised to see a lonely sliver of avo, the bartender checked the kitchen and brought me a proper portion. Flat screens for the game. On this night the knicks lost. Bar with locals makes it almost feels like Cheers! Will be back.
Great burger options (chilli & mushrooms, Cole slaw and shoestring fries, etc) with great tasting beef - a rare combination. Casual place. Decently priced. Only downside: burgers dont come with fries, theyre a $4 add on.
Dive bar with an interesting atmosphere. Half dive bar, half dive bar, with a splash of resturante. Its nice, positive atmospheres, the girls were nice aside from their seemingly understaffed workforce.Chefs do a good job, nothing spectacular; the burgers however are around my tastebuds an 8/10, and Ive ate garbage to survive in my country. So I know a decent burger when I taste one reminence or not.Wanted to give it a 5 star but mah queen didnt approve of their medium rare serve. To truly be a good burger place, you gotta appeal to the carnivore. If you wanna drink or eat, prepare to pay, but you will be served finely.
Pretty cool decor and the menu has a ton of intriguing choices, but the burger I had was just ok. Ordering taps by the 64oz growler is a fun gimmick. Will give them another shot down the road.
The best burger I’ve had so far in the Upper East Side. The burgers are very juicy and cooked to perfection. They are very reasonably priced (burger and fries or side salad about $16/17). They have good drink deals as well with a beer and shot totaling $7. Would highly recommend to friends and will be back again.
I had the double double burger.... A bit underseasoned and a bit overcooked but thats probably because it was 2, 4 oz patties. My wife had the WTF burger and it was a nice medium rare. She enjoyed hers. Ill go back and try a different burger next time.
Horrible service. They ran out of coffee after 1 cup, so we ended up paying $3.50 for a mediocre cup with no refills. No offer to comp or anything. Food took forever, and the burgers were average at best. Extremely bland. We all left extremely disappointed and will never be coming back here. You shouldn’t either.
I love Mels! The service is great and the staff are all so cool and fun. Shoutout to Andrey you’re the best!
On a trip to nyc, my little brother and his wife suggested this place for us to go check out. I’m always willing to try something in regards to food so I said just lead the way.We took the train and walked during what was an unusual heat wave for winter in the north. After arriving we were greeted promptly and sat down right away. We came on a Sunday and wanted the unlimited brunch drinks, I started with a Bloody Mary because they are my favorite and then kept with the mimosas because frankly they are drinkable to a buzz like amount without getting fat fingers from sodium. The service was awesome and my drink was never empty.Of course we had to have some food since we were brunch drinking to that level, I decided on the eggs Benedict they were simple but very delicious. This is a cool location, it was pretty packed since it was football Sunday but enjoyable and a place I would return to
When me and my friend went it was empty which wasnt a problem, it was about 2pm on a Friday. we were able to have a well drink for $8 (happy hr from 12-6) and some fries. we were checking the place out for a future happy hour meet up. we will be returning with more people!
Listen, Mel’s Burger Bar was absolutely great. A good friend of mine and I ended there due to bad customer service at another restaurant on Mother’s Day. We got the game day special of unlimited wings and fries for $40! The wings had great flavor and cooked to perfection. My favorite was the buffalo wings, while my friend favorite were the trashed wings. The fries were also fried perfectly and well seasoned. The atmosphere was great from the customers to the staff. Olivia was an absolute doll serving us. We definitely had to let the front of the house staff know her customer service was outstanding. We threw in Olivia needed a raise and/or promotion for her service. We will definitely make another visit soon!
Food was good and service was great. I came here on wing night, and they were soooo good. The cocktails we got didnt come until the end of the meal. I think that was the bartenders fault, not the server.
The tots are incredible, burgers are very good — basic but in a good way, the home brewed beers are cool, Mac and cheese balls are ok too. Very dog friendly and good staff
Anyone craving crispy fries, the only option is to dine on the premises, prepared to send your order back, reiterating “CRISPY”.Regardless of how clearly and adamantly a phone order is transmitted, in my experience, it’s been ignored with no recourse or care on the part of the taker. From a business relying on a limited menu,it’s soggy pale fries or soggy pale fries.
Great place for long talks and watch sports. Top service, great flavors! A bit pricey though.
Good prices. Sadly the menu has been reduced :(Its a good place to go with friends.Spinach and artichoke dip is tasty, nothing fancy. Same with half and half (fries and onion rings).
Real solid. Great staff and delicious burgers
Happy hour with the classic cheese burger was a great experience. And the bartender Nicloe is a jem. If you dont like the place for some crazy reason go for her. I would say best burger joint in the upper east side.
Happy Hour drinks are good. Burgers are small for $9-12. Fries are extra and you get a tiny cup of them for $4.50. Not worth it.
Had some time to kill so we stopped here briefly for a snack. We ended up getting the fries, margaritas, and mozzarella sticks. The service was a bit slow but the staff was nice, and we were able to get a table outdoors pretty quickly. Both the fries and the mozzarella sticks were hot and tasty. The margs were pre-mixed (noted on their menu) so they were fine but not homemade. Would definitely like to try their burgers at some point!
Go here to drink so you wont be disappointed. The food was terrible. Ive been here twice with more than a year in between visits. The first time I was here I ordered a standard burger. It was awful. I found the meat to be greasy and flavorless, and there was a lot of it. At least a half pound of burger meat served on a soggy bun. The veggies were also flavorless, like they got them from Subway or someplace like that.More recently I had the displeasure of getting the nachos. They came with some of the cheese melted, but some was still cold enough that you could tell it was a square slice of cheese thrown on some chips. The beef was crumbled cooked burgers that resembled extra bits of burger from the griddle that didnt make it onto buns. Not a separate product like ground beef that they cooked and put on my nachos. Leads me to believe they dont have loose ground beef here, just preformed patties. There were a few chopped bits of tomato, a ton of sour cream, and maybe some beans? Really couldnt tell. No onions, no guacamole, just a really awful dish. We also asked for a side of jalapenos since they were also absent (happens sometimes, not everyone likes spicy) and out came some sauteed jalapenos. Not something youd put on nachos. Not really something youd put anywhere, as they were pretty flavorless and mushy.I guess dont order nachos from a burger joint? But more importantly, dont order food from Mels.My spicy maragarita wasnt spicy. Nor did it taste like much tequila. Stick with beer here, they have good deals on it.The service was very good with friendly and attentive staff.
Nice place with good burgers, i like it
Every place was closed on a Friday night around 12 except this place. So went to get a chili burger and it taste good. They have top 40s music playing in the background. Its a youngers people place.
Family friendly weekday lunches and weekend brunches. House specialty burgers are amazing. Gets adult crowd lively after 6pm though
Cockroach in my sweet potato fries.Bar service was fine, but the kitchen staff have to be held accountable for not checking and maintaining hygiene levels. It’s fortunate for the business that I’m not the litigious type and didn’t assume to take a picture.Do better Mel’s. Do better.
The worst onion rings I have ever had, zero seasoning and the batter fell off after the 1st bitw. The server was super sweet but the food was DEFINITELY not worth the wait.
Mel’s Chicken Caesar Salad is very good. Service was good and fast.
Tasty!
Amazing, I always have a great time when i stop by
Great vibe here and fantastic food. There is outdoor seating available as well as ample indoor seating. Their apps are great and their vegetarian burger is delicious.
We couldnt sit at a table because it was by reservation only even though there was plenty of empty tables the whole time we were there. We had to sit at a little bar right next to the door.
Terrible customer service! I wasn’t greeted and was completely ignored, and felt as I was bothering the girls working there. I sat myself and waited to for the server to take my order which she didn’t she looked right at me and didn’t even acknowledge me waving my hand to her, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and gave it another 5 mins and from then I left and probably won’t come back
If you have a friend named Mel then it’s a great place to take them for their birthday! 😛Regardless of birthdays though I have been here a few times and foods always good and it’s deff a place to sit and stay for a while
Food was delicious! Fun staff and had plenty of TVs to watch the game!
Great food, great service, and great prices. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Definitely want to come back
Only cash,so very annoying. Hamburgers are good but overall nothing special. Waiters are nice,so service is good. Just the food quality should be more. However, the proce reflect that so eventually not so bad.
Seriously?! $9 for this! It looks like somebody ate half of my fries! I was so looking forward to a good burger and fries after work and I got hard skimpy fries and small, tough and charred burger. Major disappointment! Never again.
Shout out to our waitress for making the best accommodations for my family and I after an unwelcome greeting from the hostess and giving us a outside but our waitress saved the day she was friendly pleasant accommodating and our visit turned out amazing. Food drinks ambience was good. Definitely a great place.
Food and drinks were super good! I really enjoyed the Mac and cheese balls. Service was really friendly as well 💝
Used to be good but just ordered and the fries were $9 and this is all I got and the shake was $9 for a small shake not worth it at all burger was mid not worth the price. DO NOT ORDER OR PICK UP FROM HERE.
Good burger, and best service we had during the marathon
Had a very good time in this place and maybe the best burgers in Manhattan.
The atmosphere is great. Delicious vegan burger. Dont recommend the Buffalo cauliflower
Amazing experience yet again at Mels. I ordered the Mels double double with garlic fries. The food came in a timely manner and it was great. The service was great as well. This place has a great bar atmosphere and I highly recommend it
Pretty decent burger place with great beer selection. And the staff is super nice and quick!
We use to come here once or twice monthly. Friendly atmosphere, great sweet fries, and so many tipes of beer.
This place serves good beer and the food was tasty. But, the music is far too loud to enjoy your company.
Asked for a filthy vodka martini it wasnt, asked for a shot of olive juice to put in got two olives instead, roasted cauliflower was cold, no McKenzies on tap like menu said.
Food took a long time. Honey mustard was trash.
Mels has a pretty cool large space and some pretty solid burgers, though theyre a little pricey and do not come with a side, which is kind of a bummer. They boast a decent rotating beer selection as well. In the summer the whole front end of the place is wide open, so you can enjoy your beer and burger without feeling disconnected from that summer weather.
Burger was amazing the fries were really good as well the waitress / bartender is very pleasant.
Stopped in here cuz stumble inn was packed and was amazed by this burger, got the French onion which came with a banging au jus. 10/10 would recommend
Great burgers, great music, terrible music and just a bit over priced.Fun burger flavors like French dip.
The burger I ordered was cooked much further than I asked for, but the shake and fries were fantastic.
Great selection of beers. Had good happy hour and appetizers where big enough. Wings nice and artichoke dip. With burgers and fries. Filled stomachs. Would join beer club next time.
It was pretty tasty! I ordered the buffalo wings and the portion size was huge!
Really great burgers and milkshakes. Can get rowdy but great service and attentive bartenders.
I was never asked if I needed a seat, or had questions when I first entered. Stood there for 30-45 minutes with 0 interaction. It wasnt until my sister arrived they finally asked if we needed help. When we sat down it took a while for us just to get some water. Which was never refilled and we only got asked once if everything was fine.It took another 15-20 minutes for us just to get our check and another 15 minutes just to get it paid. Almost like we were ghost. I was tempted to not even leave a tip since it wasnt deserved. Food was good at least. Service was horrible.
Showed up for a party of 2 on 5/18/24 and was told that no seats were available except for outside and once a table opened up, we would be moved. We sat a the table outside and noticed countless people being seated and when we inquired again, we were told we had to wait. Guess we were not the right skin color. Please avoid Mels Burger at all costs
Delightful! Great selection of bevs and food. Definitely recommend the dirty hipster burger.
This place has great food and friendly people. On the downside Ive noticed that they mess up orders quite often.
Delicious burgers. They dont come with fries so you have to order them separately, but the fries portion is massive.
Burgers are awesome and you can get them in a wrap if you are going low carb. I had a turkey burger and it was awesome.
Good food, great service, alcoholic milkshakes
Burger was good, but small and it didnt come with any side. Burger only and diet soda was $20.00 with tip.
Came in and waited. Made excuses because they didn’t want to seat a party of 1, even though there were tables available. Big attitude for smaller groups. Stay Away!!!
Probably some of the worst food I’ve ever ate. I’m not sure how you can make a grilled chicken wrap nasty but they have achieved it. The burgers we had were so dry, it looked like they cooked them yesterday. 0/10
Solid burger and good Cajun fries but shakes left me wanting. Definitely not thick enough and portion not too generous either.
While the food was excellent, the restaurant was a little too loud for comfort. Definitely a bar feel.
Fun, friendly place with good food. A little snobby, tho...
Nice local joint with a wide variety of options including vegetarian ones. Very kid friendly.
Any place with a beer and shot special for under $15 in NYC is a win.Theirs is under $10 here...
Pretty good burgers, but its really loud and hard to even hold a conversation
Good foodYummy appetizers
Great draft beer selection! Burguers are delicious, just perfect for a friday night!
Lots of burger choices and all are amazing. Get a side of fries, but stay away from the buffalo ones.
Food was ok, burguers are regular, nothing amazing, the home beers are amazing, the staff are super kind, but it was really loud, I think is good to go with friends, definitely avoid if u want to have a chat.
Great place for an after work meet up
I had an Amazing time watching My Eagles at this establishment. I just happened upon this spot and Im so glad I did! I look forward to watching many more games here. Great atmosphere, games day deals and great televisions!
Plenty of options to pick from, friendly staff and while I was there they had 2 for 1 beers.
I had delivery. Was fast and good. Tater tots great as well.
Had such a great meal here! Andrey gave killer service and the drinks were delish. Will definitely be back the next time I wanna get crunk.
Fantastic food and reasonably priced. everything on the menu is great.
Burged was delicious. Fries were delicious. Nice selection of beer.
I just love their burgers!!! great casual spot.
Its fun with good beers and the food you crave for.
An excellent place to hang with delicious burgers!
Great food great atmosphere service can improve. But its a good place
Our Bartender Andrey was amazing! He was attentive with service and made creative cocktails that tasted really great!
Favorite sports bar at UES. The hard milkshakes are absolutely amazing.
Best place for young people in UES!! Hopefully older people stay at the pubs & clubs too!! 😁
Great selection of beer. Food is good enough but nothing exceptional.
Best brunch in the city! Grace is amazing and kept us well hydrated.
The best place in the upper east side to go and share, delicious food accompanied by good beers, special to go after work or training with friends. Best regards FRANCHESCO ORELLANA - NYC DRAGONS
Solid food and service, and really affordable for the area. Pretty much whatd you expect for the name. Plus they have a 3 hour bottomless brunch which is simultaneously incredible and dangerous.
Great service and food! Friendly atmosphere! NYC DRAGONS 🐉 RUBY 🔥
Great burger varieties, all very delicious, lovely service, and we could hear each other talk!
Came here for dinner they play good music staff is super family. The burgers are excellent. I would highly recommend anybody looking for a cool place to come check it out.
I’m never the type of person to post a review but I just HAD to for this place. I am extremely disappointed in the food. The burgers are something you can get at someone’s backyard BBQ or on the side of the road somewhere as a food stand. So bland and dry. The garlic Parmesan wings were crispy but didn’t have much flavor. The ONLY tasty thing was the sweet potato fries. $15 for a burger here? Never again. Do not waste your time and money.
Great place to eat and drink great customer service and extremely comfortable
Food was amazing, service was amazing, bottomless mimosas are fantastic
Always fun - great bottomless deals - and the food is good as well!
Good food. Good beer. Good prices. Good people.
Bar atmosphere. Great burgers and variety of potato options and shakes. Friendly service. Vegan burger options
Cool place
Sometimes I have to wait a bit for water
The best burger in a very long time. Service was not the best.
Me and my mate had 2 🍻 each $44 with tip
Got Salmonella from undercooked bacon. Shouldve known not to trust the food. Our wonderful waitress was clearly over worked, they didnt have silverware or glassware, and when asked for carrots/celery with wings our table was told we dont have any vegetables left in the kitchen. This was at 6pm on a Saturday, hardly a weird hour to order food.Drink specials were good at least. Not much in the way of gluten free options, the bun for my burger was ok quality.
Solid neighborhood burger joint, great food, great beer selection.
Nice experience. The food and service were great.
Update: food is no longer reasonably priced. Portions shrank substantially. You simply don’t get enough food. Quality of burger degraded as well.Great for what it is. Burgers, fries, and shakes are solid. Decent beer selection. Long happy hour with good prices. Staff is very friendly. All around a nice place to be.
I only had takeout, but it tasted amazing!
Nice burgers 🍔. Decent price
I have taking my wife to every burger joint in the UES I finally found one she will actually repeat.
Great atmosphere, reasonably priced, and warm and kind staff
Bring back the nurse Betty!!! Impossible is ok but the veggie burger you had was way better
Great burger - Grace is awesome!
Delicious Ice Cream and speedy service even with Covid restrictions in place.
The food was delicious and the prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend.
Megan might be the greatest server I’ve ever had !
Maybe it was because it was late on a Wednesday, but service was slow and there were not pitchers available. However, the burgers and sweet potato fries are great, and it has a chill admosphere
The backyard buffet is my favorite. Smores milkshake was the shiz.
Afternoon visit, a group of kids came in and were very loud
The best burgers, and incredible service
Burger was great fries were inedible , i don’t think i’ll comeback
