The waitress could not prepare separate bills for two people, even though I told her from the beginning. Steak and egg was far from what it should have been. Despite this, espresso martini and atmosphere were good. The hostess was very understanding and friendly.

BEST BAR IN EV! If you haven’t been to Motel No Tell, then you are truly missing out!!! I come here by myself and as well as with friends and have never felt alone. The staff are immaculate and make you feel at home. The food, cocktails, and atmosphere knock any East Village bar out of the water, and I’m continually impressed how Motel has captured the hearts of many. Whether you need a good laugh and some Guinness or to turn up with some Brat Punch, Motel has your back for every occasion. This bar truly gets to know its locals and welcomes new ones daily. Oh, and don’t forget to snag a hug from the 6’7” Irish owner…they are simply the best:)

This spot has been empty since pre-pandemic and I’m glad to see something different on this corner. Sure, bars, brunch, and happy hour are a dime a dozen in the East Village and New York. Pink and green neon have a way of luring me in. Went here for happy hour and had a few Scuba scubas and Buffalo chicken nachos. Both were excellent. I had a hot wine drink as well, which wasn’t too sweet. It was just right. The nostalgia laden decor really sucks me in. I’ll be back.

This not a welcoming establishment for Black Folks of Urban community aka the hood. “Racial Profiled” by bartender leading to an unauthorized hold without even saying anything about it. Not mention this the holidays and I needed my money to get gifts for my loved one which I couldn’t due to an unauthorized hold on my card.Disclaimer “ If I was unable to pay the bill and try to run out the established, without any hesitation policed would have been called on me, especially being an urban black man”I’m sure every customer doesn’t get pre charged before even getting their meal just happen to be me?I was total embarrassed and felt targeted the moment I walked in by the nasty stares the white staff members was giving me, making feel completely unwanted at the establishment not the first time I experienced racial bias. And I ask how many people that day received a pre charge on the card before a glass of water was even presented.Not only was there an unauthorized hold on my card but the manager and one of the owners couldn’t explain how an additional charge was placed on my card. The owner was the most helpful and professional person. Shout out jack he was extremely apologetic, understanding, and deescalated the situation.. However I will not recommend anyone who don’t fit into the corporate America norm. This is not a welcoming place for urban blacks aka hood people.Originally I peeked interest in the Motel Notell because of the atmosphere and how much vibrancy you can see externally. I looked up the menu and decided to treat myself to a meal one Saturday afternoon, the worst mistake of ever. The Mexican staff was cool but all the white staff members were giving me dirty looks as soon as I arrived. I proceeded to sit down and disregard the situation of being looked at weirdly and placed my card on the table to assure my payment. Upon going to the rest room I given my card to the bartender to show signs of good faith, without telling me he pre charged my card. Again I wonder do everyone get pre charged before even getting a drink of water let alone their food on the table. Not my first time experiencing the racial bias but the first time I got charged before even taking a drink of water. The bartender was fully aware of the pre charge and processed to make a loud announcement about me not having enough to pay.. so I covered the balanced, check my bank statement, called my bank to confirm that the was an unauthorized hold. I have called the establishment to inform them, the first person I spoke to told me I received a charge from November and the one from December but it was my first time and the person was unsure. I’ve proceeded to return the next day to speak with the assistant manger who claimed she refunded the amount in question and it should be return within a hour or two and it wasn’t. I proceeded to come back the following day to speak to a manager for clarification and got in touch with Jack. Jack understood exactly what the situation was but couldn’t come to terms of admitting it was a racial bias. However jack provided the most help and support with situation but judging by the looks of concern he knew it was racial as well.I was considering doing a brunch and letting friends know about the place but it’s best to take my business elsewhere where with fears of being overcharged while black

New hotspot in the LES called Motel No Tell. The food, decor, atmosphere, music. and staff make this place a new NYC treasure. The bottomless brunch was exquisite!

This is my favorite bar in the city! The food is delicious, the vibes are immaculate and the service is impeccable.i’ve come here more times than i’d like to admit and they greet you like an old friend.Jack, one of the owners/ the owner (?? unsure!), is FANTASTIC. he’s so friendly and warm. you can tell that he really values all of his customers. he always comes over to say hello and check in. so great!shout out to all of the amazing bartenders and staff too! Clara, Efa, Tom, Richie (manager I think!), Miguel, Annyssa and literally everyone else. how a place can find so many great people is astoundingI have brought so many friends here and every single time they walk away THRILLED and loving this spot.it was an immediate suggestion to my friend for her bachelorette and I can’t wait!

Wow, I don’t even know where to begin. TLDR: you must come here as you will no doubt have a wonderful time, no matter the occasion or day/time.The staff: I couldn’t speak highly enough of the employees here. Everyone from management to the food runners are absolute gems and will make it their personal responsibility to ensure you have a great time. Hilarious, fun, and genuinely kind people, I’ve never seen an establishment so fully staffed with amazing humans.The food: surprisingly delicious for a bar. The pizzas specifically stand out as impressive- they have a proper brick oven in the back and the chefs are trained on making proper pizza. But the other items are just as good- the burgers, the pasta, even the plain fries. 15/10The bar: the atmosphere is just good vibes all around. Super fun decor and plenty of room to mingle or play music bingo on Tuesday nights. It gets pretty busy and loud weekends but it’s a great time with good music.

Good place to come with a crowd. Cute decor, cute atmosphere. Lots of easy open seating for large groups. Drinks are currently $15, cheap by East Village cocktail standards, tho not exactly cocktail caliber, but still good enough (tho I imagine that will change as business grows.) Drink was OK, tasty. Food wise I had the meatball sandwich, it was fine. Server was very attentive.Ultimately you’ll come here because you like the decor and you want to place to hang out for the night. It’ll fill that criteria.

Fun decor and fruity drinks galore! Would recommend going when its a little less busy to avoid some of the chaos unless youre looking for that vibe.

Great enviornment, wonderful cocktails, and amazing service! A friend and I stopped by after seeing their happy hour deals and were pulled in by the ambiance. The decorations were so cute for Halloween and the energy was very fun and relaxing. 10/10 definitely coming back for a longer stay next time!

Here for the piñas, vibe, and merch. I spent $60 on a sweatshirt with no regrets. Bathroom disco balls and swanky interiors for the win. Staff was super sweet. My friend Maya lives nearby and this was the perfect spot to close out an epic weekend in New York. Thank you 🙏

Such an enjoyable experience in Motel No Tell. The staff are very attentive and welcoming and the drinks and food really hit the spot. Come for the drinks and vibes, get your pizza elsewhere. Came here for an impromptu dinner and a drink on a weekday. The service was very friendly and efficient, and the place itself was clean, air conditioned and the music wasn’t too loud. Our drinks were on the cheap side ($15 per drink) and tasted good.The design is unique and, well designed. Someone definitely put thought into it, but I can’t say it’s tasteful. It is playful and fun though.The food however was mediocre. Serving mediocre pizza in NYC is unacceptable, especially when you can get better pizza for half price across the street. I still gave this place 4 stars because it’s a new place and it might change and improve over time. But they really need to step up their pizza game.

We were there on a Friday night before it got too crazy, and while it was loud, it wasnt so loud that you couldnt talk. If youre looking to hang somewhere in the East Village and get your night off to a good start, this could be your go-to! Keep up the great work.

I’ve been coming here since Motel no tell opened. The staff has always been super friendly and made me feel at home. But tonight was just weird. I was ordering drinks next to two girls, and one of them claimed to be the owner’s girlfriend. She was bragging about how she drinks here for free and even asked me how often I come here. When I said I’ve been coming since they opened, she accused me of lying because she’s never seen me before.Things got even stranger when I started chatting with the other girl, and out of nowhere, the “owner’s girlfriend” literally inserted herself physically between us and asked who I was despite us already talking. She then told me to leave them alone. I was completely thrown off because we were just having a friendly conversation. In fact, the other girl even commented on the strange behavior of “ The owner’s girlfriend”.I waited over 15 minutes for my drinks, only to find out they’d been delivered to the other end of the bar without anyone telling me. The whole thing felt so unprofessional and left me really confused. After coming here regularly for a while, I’m not sure I’ll be back after this experience.Edit: The owner, Who has always been super gracious and Very hospitable, right before this incident happened, had introduced this woman as his girlfriend, Drawing a professional connection. This was not just a patron. It was someone connected directly to the bar and who was making that connection well known.

I love the vibe here! The decor was very on point and the bathrooms were so cute with different phrases on the mirror! The motel n out burger with animals fries is soooo good!! It is basically like an in-n-out burger just a little thicker which i find better! Also got the nachos which were phenomenal! Prices for the happy hour drinks were great especially for the beverages! So happy I came and looking forward to stopping by my next trip down to the city with friends!

We really liked the bar; it has a cool vibe and is nicely decorated. We went for a friend’s birthday, who had reserved a section of the bar. The service was good, and while the food was quite basic, the noise made it hard for us to stay for too long.

Service here is awesome - the staff are all super nice, very prompt and just friendly and seem happy to be there. Great drinks and quick turnaround for them. Vibes are great and it’s been a nice addition to the neighborhood!

This place already has the best bartenders in the East Village. Vibe is amazing. Don’t be afraid to try the Guinness. These are good Irish lads.

Unfortunate but I tell the truth; Had me and my friend’s drinks spiked here. Was there for a few hours and had maybe 8 drinks over 3 hours. Last one was a doozy; she went home and threw up and felt awful; I stayed for maybe 40 minute after - the room was spinning and I ended up lying on the couch for 20 minutes completely feeling awful. Managed to slowly walk home where I felt awful for the next 12 hours and then threw up . This has never happened to me in 25 years of drinking. I’m suspicious of the waitress bc I proudly was talking about Donald Trump although the waitress had TDS. Be VERY CAREFUL OF YOUR DRINKS people and ideally watch them be poured yourself you never know. The only reason I am writing this is bc of this news article. I wanted this to be my local bar and was in conversation with the owners in 2022 and was fully supportive of their opening but it only takes one or two staff members to spoil it for life.I told the manager, he said he’d have a look at the video. “Couldn’t find anything.” Ok - I know it’s the usa where everyone is litigious and liable so I understand even if he did find something but still it’s a huge worry bc you hear stories and it’s the first time for me.The allegation can be made (and was made) “you drank too much”. Ok well then that’s irresponsible serving of alcohol, which I think not as it was spaced over a few hours. The friend was polish so knows and can handle alcohol. Unfortunate for all.This is what happens!

The over the top noise makes this great space a waist of time unless you just want to get blotto. Plus there is absolutely no regard for the people actually living in the hood.This manigment is no friend ( so far) to the nabe.

I had my 30th birthday party here and it is such a great venue . The staff was able to set up a portion of the bar for our party and was really accommodating with decorations and our cake . Couldn’t recommend this space more for a party !

The greatest bar in the world. Incredible ambience. I honestly dont know how they do it. If you want to dance, theres plenty of room on the floor where you can dance, but theres also great standing room, a cool chill corner if you want to play video games in the back, and places to just sit and drink and chill with your friends, the bathrooms are super clean, theres tons of room, and the staff is absolutely incredible. They have a very strong claim to what is probably one of the best espresso Martinis in manhattan, the prices are great, and the vibe is always just right. I have brought every single one of my friends and dates to this bar, and it has never disappointed, Ive been here around 30 times and it is always been nothing short of magical. Motel No Tell is amazing, and you will love it here.

Had a great evening celebrating a friend’s birthday that was abruptly ended when the GM got aggressive with a friend who bumped into him on the way to the bathroom (while he stood in the middle of the path, blocking the way).It’s a shame, the drinks and food were good, the staff was mostly attentive, but for the restaurant to be run by such a small man, who treats guests rudely and aggressively, I don’t need to go back there.

I had an awesome brunch experience! Katie was our server / bartender, and she was phenomenal. The food was delicious and timely and she created an amazing dining experience for us. Excited to come back soon! Highly recommend the fried chicken sandwich as well.

Celebrated my 30th birthday here and I could not be more happy on how everything was executed! Richie, the general manager, and Clara, our dedicated server for the night, were top-notch. Richie was super responsive during the early planning stages and made sure the setup, drinks, food, etc. all went smoothly. And Clara, our server, was exceptional!! Every guest after the party told me how impressed they were that she was so speedy and didnt forget/mess up a thing when it came to our drinks and timing for the cake & food. And, of course, the actual bar has such a fun, vibey decor and Im so thrilled that I could celebrate my 30th disco here. Thank you to the entire team at Motel No Tell!

Im getting older every day so when Motel No Tell opened, I immediately had a case of Get off my lawn-itis. But Ive been pleasantly surprised every visit, enjoying a solid (if young-leaning) cocktail menu, super approachable staff, and a vibe that is fun and energetic without feeling off-putting.I havent had enough of the food to really rate it, but what Ive had has been good, coming off as bar food+ (without the grease of pub food too). Im honestly a little surprised they run a food program, but times have changed and it seems like customers expect food at cocktail bars these days, so if it works for them, great!

I came in on a Friday night it was very busy at the bar and in general , Overall the food was good, but the guy with glasses who speaks Spanish was very rude. I was at the edge of the bar there was literally no space what so ever, and instead of him kindly sugesting for me to move somewhere else he just shoved dirty glasses in front of me and told me to move very rude, I speak Spanish as well and I found it very disrespectful he could of politely said excuse me instead of shoving dirty glasses in front of my drink . Staff was okay just found it very disrespectful from his part .

Wow, Motel No More is amazing! I went there for the first time the other night and had a blast. The staff was super nice and the drinks were yummy. The menu had so many options that I wanted to try, but I ended up getting a pizza. And let me tell you, it was awesome! I know my pizza, trust me (I’ve been in the pizza biz for almost 20 years). The place also looked cool and cozy. They really nailed every detail and it made a difference (even if most folks don’t notice it unless it sucks). They rocked it and I can’t wait to go back and eat everything else on the menu.

I found Motel No Tell on google for my 23rd birthday party. I was coming in from out of town and I had never been before, I was really afraid that the vibes would be bad and the music would be weird…. But alas, I have LITERALLY never had a more fun birthday party. Richie and his team made it one of the best nights of my life, their level of service was unparalleled and so welcoming. The bartender are truly professionals, not only were the drinks stellar but they came out quickly and attentively. The music and atmosphere were great, it’s was the perfect mix of miami vice disco with house/dance music, super fun to dance but also not too intense you couldn’t talk to people. The venue itself is gorgeous, every detail contributes to how cool the place looks. As an aside, one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had.Thank you so so much!

I made a reservation online for 4 for brunch. Showed up and they didn’t have my reservation even though I had an email confirmation and showed them. They didn’t seem very sympathetic but did offer a table for 1 hour with moving to the bar afterward. But the vibe was very rowdy and obnoxious patrons with loud music blasting that it was probably a good thing our reservation was lost in the end…
