Large size pizza is indeed big enough for an adult. Was a bit on the salty side for my taste and the dough was definitely made with something sweet inside. It was good, not great, as it was as mentioned too salty, too much overall, asking in a way for a drink to go with it. We waited quite long for our meals, although there was not much going on. As the place is inside the little Italy district, most of the customers were tourists like ourselves. Service was friendly and the music good, although loud. Pasta portion are one the large side and we were overall happy with the meal. There is a 18% addition if you are a group (we were 5) and the drinks (beer and soda) are not cheap (glass of beer is 7$ - good, but a bit pricey). We ended up paying 128$ for 5, drinks and main courses. I think that’s NY. It wouldn’t have been cheaper anywhere else close by. Would we go there again? No. Could it have been worse? Yep. It’s a safe and in my opinion a pricey choice. Bathrooms could have been cleaner and the music not so loud. Other than that, there is not much that I have to criticize.

Great bar in a neighborhood which can be lacking in watering-holes. This place feels authentic without trying too hard. Theres some genuine history in the cracked mosaic floor and battered bar. The food is decent and the beers are reasonably priced, but the staff make it extra welcoming. Definitely worth stopping by.

I get you may be having a not great day, but you’re in the service business, don’t project that out to your guests. Can’t tell you if the food was good since we haven’t gotten anything yet.Don’t get fooled into coming in here even if the day is nice and they have outdoor seating.

I’ve never seen a manager handle a customer complaint with such distaste for her patrons. She admitted that they were out of an ingredient advertised on the menu & served it to us with a substitution. She then told us to let her know if we didn’t like it… when we did so all she asked was if she wanted us to have her “doctor it up at all”… why don’t you just make us a new pizza with the ingredients advertised? She then asked us where we were from & instantly changed her tone when she learned we live in New York. Sad to think of all the tourists this place is probably scamming!

Unfortunately I can’t rate the food because we did not eat there. We were enjoying Little Italy and looking for a place to smoke a cigar, the gentlemen at the door maybe owner or manager was like sit down at the table and enjoy your cigar make yourself at home. We had coffee and a couple of beers, it was great. We were so taken by the service there, they never rushed us and it finished off the night in a great way. Thank you for your hospitality and your great service.

This is a great place to go in Little Italy that’s not a tourist trap. The food and drink are excellent and the service is outstanding. The owners and staff are very friendly. There’s a long, rich history of the place being used as a location for filming many famous movies, but it’s not a rip-off tourist spot. This place really feels like Little Italy.

Review №24

This place has horrible service and the food was decent. The price on the menu isn’t the price you pay because they increase when you get the bill. The menu stated gratuity is included with a party six or more which is a lie. Even if you’re less than six a gratuity of 20% will be added. Be ready to pay almost 4% more than what’s listed for no logical explanation. Asked to speak to the manager and the one who came stated they were in charge was useless. Paying a Credit Card surcharge is one thing when it’s stated but being added to the bill without notice is another. All the reasons given by him were pathetic excuses and the staff is slow and unresponsive. All their reasons are without merit and purely shady business practices. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to this establishment unless you have money to throw away. There’s so many more good true authentic Italian restaurants in NYC without the shady business practices. If I could give them 0 Stars I would because that’s what they deserve. You don’t need to waste your time going to this place!!

Stopped off here looking for something nice to eat that would not rip us off like the cafe up the street charging $9 for a small coffee and then being surly as hell and getting the order wrong. Here we felt like family - the service was great, the lady of the house was amazing and the food was as good as I have eaten in places charging twice as much - cant beat a woodfired oven for pizza. Couldnt manage it all but they wrapped the remainder up in a doggy bag for me along wish some extra sauce which was much appreciated by my brother later. Visit here for a really good Little Italy NY experience (but dont expect a pudding) x

Of course I was not expecting Michelin quality service, however, I believe the following is not worthy of a tip;- Dull service - all the staff looked like they hated their job.- Wait time - 40 mins for 2 pizzas and a pasta.- Pizza & Pasta were bland - would have had more flavour and quality at a 99¢ street vendor.- Water refills - all glasses were empty and no one bothered to check and fill them up.- Taking plate away while eating - can you please wait until Im finished at least.- Leaning over and taking cheese for another table during our meal - Im sure there was another vacant table that had cheese on it.Dont waste your time, go somewhere else. $22 for a storebrand-esque pizza is a joke.

I would give it no stars, but you have to give it one in order to review it. The service was likely the worst I have ever received. Having traveled the US and the world, Im surprised that an American establishment would be the worst, but this place definitely earned it. The staff was rude and cold, we were only waited in once, the drinks took more than 15 minutes and the restaurant was not even full. The food portions were small and expensive and truly just not worth my time, let alone my money. This establishment also charges all parties a minimum of 15% gratuity, put will charge 18% on parties of 5 or more. Nowhere in the menu or posted in the restaurant for patrons to see was the mention of the 15% gratuity. When we asked about it, the staff simply replied, this is NYC, this is how its done, expect its not. I will not only never return to this place, but I would never recommend anyone to go to such a location where customers arent important and gratuity is forced regardless of service level.

I went here with three friends who were in town visiting. We had the worst waiter Ive ever had in my life. Im pretty sure he was fired half way through our meal. There was a surprise $12 cover charge for eating inside the restaurant when we received our bill, which the staff explained was due to NYs $7.50 minimum wage that waiters earn. The pasta was average, nothing special. The only thing this restaurant has going for them is their location in Little Italy to give the illusion that they might be a decent Italian restaurant.

Service for food was really bad. Other people which just had drinks seemed to be better served. I wouldn’t come again for food.

Very disappointed. I thought this would be a solid Italian bar like in the movies. It had the look but was ruined by random pop music playing over the speakers. The food was decent.

If youre in Little Italy and need a drink, stop in this place. Friendly staff, karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights - these guys are good, if youre lucky you might get to hear the old guy who does Sinatra. Get the spinach rolls if youre hungry.

Was a 5 star place until the bartender told us we had to leave immediately or order more beer when it started to rain. Just spent $80 on dinner and we couldnt sit at the bar for 3 more minutes waiting for the cloud burst to pass unless we wanted to order two more drinks. The place was damn near empty, its not like they needed the seating. Rude staff. Pass this place up for any of the dozens of other places with just as good food but without the jerks behind the counter.

Would NOT recommend! Service was absolutely horrible. Food was good but refills on drinks are not a thing (and are expensive). Used same plates for both appetizers and food, water bottles looked dirty, place looked dirty. Would not eat here again.

Had to walk out. Upon being seated we waited about 5 minutes and no one came over to take drink orders. Then one of the employees started a fight with another employee in the middle of the place in front of out table. Then another 15 minutes went by and still no one ever came over. I asked thr server if they had anyone to take our order and he said he didnt know. So we left

If you are visiting from out of town, you have better options. The food is OK, the service was suspect. Sat by the kitchen, the cooks talked about customers rudely (they have to realize other people can speak multiple languages). Again, too many options for the area to recommend ok food and rude cooks.

Absolutely horrible. The service was the worst Ive ever experienced. It took 10 minutes to even be greeted, then an additional ten minuets to even get a drink. Our waiter was inattentive and painfully slow. Not to mention there was a 15% service charge allocated to the bill and we only had a party of 4. Nowhere on the menu is this stated. Im a great tipper but I even felt this was too much given the quality of service (or lack thereof). Would not recommend to anyone.

The pizza is probably the best in Little Italy but the service is horrible. I live in the area and it is always a challenge trying to order a pizza to go. Staff seems irritated at taking my order as if Im getting something for free. Sometimes I want to remind them that I am paying for the service so I want to be treated as such. This is a reflection of the businesses in the area. They are very rude and have a snake oil salesmen attitude. This is all proof that little Italy is in decline and its obviously Italian by name and historical reputation only.

Tourist trap - Really bad service, the manager charged us each of our meals at an higher price, and seemed annoyed that we noticed. He didnt apologize or smile for these mistakes. Since the food was average, I would just recomment to not stop by, move on and find an other place where you can get both, good service and good food.

Everything was great, the customers the bartender Stephanie, drinks and thats were it ends. Out of nowhere the owner comes in and ruined everyones good time. This woman was meaner then a snake. I have never witnessed an owner treat her employees and customers with such disrespect. I was appalled as were the customers sitting next to us.I will never return as long as that woman works there.FYI- my husband and I have been going there for years.

We both regretted our visit very soon. One of us ordered Spaghetti marinara and got simply Spaghetti with tomato Sauce. So We asked why there wasnt any seafood on the dish, the waiter explained that in this Restaurant they hadnt any seafood. When We asked him why they called It marinara, he answered, that they had ti give a name. The otherone of us ordered calzone. It was rather small and filled very simply with nothing of interest. A Heineken beer was served in a thin plastic cup and costed 7$. We will never return.

Avoid. The bartender should go for anger management class. Her passive aggressive way of communication would be a reason to fire her immediately.
