We had the dirty martini and the chai martini and they were absolutely to die for! will be back. prices were great and servers were attentive without being overbearing. had a lovely experience and will be returning!

Easily the best bar in Upper Manhattan. Great cocktails, thoughtful food menu, music is FIRE, bartenders create an amazing atmosphere. Have had my past two birthdays here, plan to make it a third.

Beautiful space with additional outdoor. Live jazz but I missed it. Can’t wait to delve into the food menu in the future. Looks soooooo gooood! Bartender Chris can make a freakin’ cocktail!

Favorite bar in the neighborhood. Great staff & friendly staff that make you feel at home plus they make some excellent cocktails too. Food is pretty on point too. And great music almost every night of the week.

From the creators of Uptownbourbon, they made an airier, more light filled spot (Its on a corner with floor to ceiling windows) with the same attention to detail in cocktailing. 3 tall boy brands at $4 and a high end selection of whiskey to rival most. Instant fan.

Penny Jo’s is cosy and has a great atmosphere. Cocktails and food are awesome, and the servers are chill and friendly. The charcuterie board is very good. Some nights they have live music or stand up comedians (no cover). A great local haunt!

Jazzy spot with Thursdays and Saturdays live super talented jazz bands from 9pm to 12am.Beers, whiskeys, wine, champagne and poultry, cheese, bread, sandwiches, fun nibbles and great salads. A great spot in the neighborhood.

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Usually here after work 4 happy hour. Its quiet and the bartenders are very sweet and attentive! Since I work close by its a sure bet every time!

On Wednesday May 9, 2019 I walked into this bar. I live down the street and I just wanted to grab some food and a drink. As soon as I sat down the bartender said that he couldn’t server me and I needed to leave his establishment. A few minutes later the owner of the place grabs my shirt and says that I need to leave. In his own words he said that he didn’t server my kind of people. I have been living in the heights for years and my grandmother raised her children in the heights. I will not be giving my money to this establishment. It breaks my heart that a business like this are not here for our community but just here to take our dollars. Spend your money on establishments that help build the heights and who are mindful of the people who live here.

An impressive gem in Upper Manhattan sorely needed. A healthy number of music events happen here and the interior is warm and inviting.A modern take on the neighborhood bar.

Its a cute place. The cocktails ($12) are well made and nicely presented. The service was friendly.

I went there on a rainy Friday evening and it was an easy place to be. The drinks were great and it was nice that we were able to talk to each other because it was not loud.

How could I give this spot less than 5 stars? Lovely beer selection and beautiful cocktails along with a very welcoming and relaxing environment. Prices are reasonable and even the sandwiches are very good (I recommend the turkey guava). Every member of the staff here is devoted to delivering a memorable and inviting experience. I’m so glad this bar is just a hop skip and a jump from my apartment as it’s become an essential local staple. If you’re ever in the area, Penny Jo’s is a must-visit spot. You won’t regret it.

I stopped by for a drink and something light to eat. I had a bourbon neat & meat & cheese platter. It was just what I wanted. Great selection of meats & cheeses. Two choices for breads ( loved the warm mini-baguette) & some dipping sauces plus olives & pickles. Really the right combination of savory & sweet. Joseph the bartender & the person who prepared the food ( sorry I should have gotten his name) were both attentive & professional. Just what you want in neighborhood bar. Im sorry Ill be missing the jazz music tonight!! I would definitely recommend this to other. The selection of drinks are many, they are gradually expanding their food menu & the service us great!! All in all it was a very pleasant experience for me.

I visited last night. A Saturday night filled with Jazz at 9pm & cocktails. This is for sure the brother Uptown Bourbon. I would have system but I feel its masculin lol. They also make as good of cocktails as UB ( UPTOWN BOURBON).I had the old fashion by Chris and and Manhattan by Kat. Delicious! You ll meet your neighbors here which tells you they know how to take care of their customers. Loved it! Nice spring beginning...

Another Andrew Castellini masterpiece. Headed there now for jazz hands actually. Great vibe and bar setup. Cocktails that are excellent and delightful waitstaff. Uptown is showing up in the cocktail scene.

Great new addition to the neighborhood! I’ve been in The Heights 10 years, and it’s a relief not to have to deal with the mta to go out. Huge windows, great place to catch the games, intimate, awesome cocktailing, and (thankfully) great pricing. 4 dollar tall boys on happy hour. Finally. The staff is on point, as well. Experienced and personal. Great vibe. New watering hole. Done.

Loved the space, great addition to the neighborhood. Has a great selection of Mikeller beers, one of the most well known gypsy brewers and imaginative brewers from Copenhagen. Can’t wait for the cocktails.

Friendly crowded bar, but wed gone there to see friends playing in a bluegrass band. There was no stage and the trio was jammed into a corner by the front door, which kept opening to admit patrons thus interfering with the musicians attempts to play on a very cold night.

This is needed for wahi! A clubby corner for contemporary cocktails and appetizers. A treat on Thursday and Saturday night to jazz..
