P.J. Clarkes Lincoln Square

Good spot for some old school burgers. We tried the Bearnaise and the Cadillac burgers. Personally, I really liked the Cadillac. That said, the highlight for me was definitely the fries. So deliciously crispy. Good service too overall.

Stopped in here for a burger and I ordered the Cadillac burger. It was ok it was just a fancy name for what really is just a bacon cheese burger that you can get anywhere. My waitress was very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere of the place was very old school

The best lobster roll Ive ever had. Excellent burger and truffle fries as well.

As always, a great experience. Since we stayed at Hotel Empire next door, and went to the ballet across the street, we decided to dine at JP Clarke’s. We did not have a reservation but we were able to eat in the downstairs bar. I never knew they even had a downstairs area. The bar attendant was great. We ordered our food and it came out quickly. Very tasty, decently priced. The atmosphere was really good, almost a honkey tonk bohemian vibe. We love coming to JP’s but of course will remember next time make a reservation in advance.

Very nice restaurant, hyper friendly service, and a good menu. There are several raw dishes, including a nice variety of oysters. Price are normal for a NY restaurant (expensive, but no more than others). I enjoyed a really good meal here, with a Clarkes Burger. Its been a while since I tasted the pure meat and simple ingredients that made hamburgers famous. No bacon, cheese, caramelized onions. Just the basics. And the cheesecake ... A real New York one! It was a great experience, recommended.

Stopped here to eat a few weeks ago before going to see Shen Yun. We ordered our food including Calamari for an appetizer & side of onion rings. Our food came out but we never got the Calamari or the onion rings. A new waiter came over & we told him we never received the other items. He apologized & checked our order & it was never put in by the previous waitress, who was now off, since they were in between shift changes. We told him it was okay but we now didn’t want it. A few minutes later the GM Kairsten Nunn came over with our onion rings & said the calamari was also coming out. She apologized gave us the items on the house & was extremely professional. She even came back again to check on us to make sure we were ok & gave use her card for a free app on our return visit.The food was also great. Great food & great service. Thank you Kairsten. We will definitely be back again.

Easiest place to go if seeing a show over at Lincoln Center. Lots of space - a basement level with equal service (bartenders down there are excellent) and it’s fast.Can be pricey. They oysters, at least, were $4 a pop. Oy!They make excellent drinks.

I came for the show and wanted to eat somewhere really fast.I walked into this place. I was sitting in a next minute , right away 🤌🏼The immediately took my order (tartar, tomato soup, juice)And served for 5-10 min.The atmosphere is nice.I was sited next to the window.Food was ready pretty fast too.Food was dellllllicious. 🫕All of this means they have enough staff to serve guests and everyone doing their job very nice.Thank you. I recommend this place. For sure.

We have eaten at PJ Clarkes in Lincoln Center a number of times over the years. Its a higher end pub with nice decor, solid food, and great service on every occasion that we have been. This is one of the best places to go before or after a Lincoln Center show if youre looking for something more on the casual side in the area.

Falls short. Theyre happy to charge fine dining prices, but this is not that.Not enough waiters to take care of guests- we were left waiting and waving our hands for every single interaction.

I had a terrible experience with this restaurant yesterday. We had a 5:45pm reservation and watched them seat walk-ins ahead of us. We were continuously told just a couple of minutes for our table and ended up being over 25mins before we were seated. And then, despite telling our server that we were ready to order as we had an event to attend quickly after, we hadnt even been served water before deciding we had to leave. Seems like a normal occurrence as we never got even an apology.EDIT: I emailed them as they requested below and they didnt even reply..

I visited this restaurant on a whim while waiting for a concert at the Lincoln Center. I ordered the oysters in miso aioli, which sounded interesting. The presentation was nice, too, but the taste was awful. Tangy, hot, thick mayonnaise over oysters - it was a foul concoction. I have to wonder if the chefs enjoy that appetizer, honestly. I ordered the lump crab cake, and to be fair, the crab cake itself was passable. Unfortunately, they decorated it with the most putrid smelling and tasting fried lemon on top. I gagged when bringing it up to my nose. I dont want to say what it actually smelled like, but this garnish did not do that crab cake any favors. Really bummer meal.

Nice atmosphere, good AC, lots of seating that can be moved about to accommodate large groups. Nice menu selection for dinner. We must have come at peak time (6:00 Thursday) because the wait was long, but when we left there were many empty tables. Waiter was very nice but a little distracted from being busy-not upset there. Ordered burger medium well and half of it was rare to medium rare. The half I did eat was very good. Delicious fries. Bit spendy for quality/quantity. Overall, would go again if looking for a place to go near the park or center.

We actually walked in with out a reservation, the place was quiet full and we were offered to sit outdoors which I wasnt pleased with since it was my Birthday weekend, then the host went and ask the Manager Tanya and we were able 😀 to sit indoors. As time went on and chatting to Tanya, we found out that shes from the same town in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 as my wife is... the Waiter Anthony (Tony) was on point, very knowledgeable and friendly, I ask for recommendations and they were all Great...I was surprised with a wonderful ch-cake and a candle 🕯 for my Birthday 🥳...Once again Thank you very much to Tanya and Tony for making my Birthday a wonderful one, will definitely come back on my next visit to NYC...Much Appreciated ❤️. I almost forgot, you guys make The Best Old fashion...

The P.J.Clarke is a surprisingly finding as we were walking around the Lincoln Center, and after been walking in line for a while, we were talking to a table. My wife ordered a bowl of wings, they are delicious, but Apparently, the burger is the best, and the oyster is above of all them . By the way, I usually pay additional attention to the washroom/bathroom whatever where I had traveled to, this is very clean and classic

What an amazing Restaurant. PJ Clarkes is worth experiencing. The staff and management is on point. The atmosphere here is lively. The food is very good. If you are planning to going out with a group or a date this is a fun high end bar atmosphere.

We ordered the tomato soup to go - after I asked twice if it came with a grilled cheese sandwich (they told me yes). When I came home and opened the bag to see there was barely one quarter of a toast. Honestly, couldn’t you just put the whole sandwich? Its two slices of bread and some cheese, simple as that, it probably costs less than one dollar to make…

It was our last night in New York and this restaurant was right next door to our hotel. Red flags should have gone off when we were told that we would have to wait 45 minutes for a table. The server asked for our mobile number and said he’d call us when a table was ready, needless to say, we waited over an hour (in hotel room) and no call. On arriving back in the restaurant, we were told by another server that we had been taken off the call back list, hence why we didn’t received a call, she proceeded to insult us by telling us to sit and wait for 20 minutes! As I was about to leave the server who had originally taken my number appeared and realised the mistake. He immediately went into action and took us to a table. Imagine my surprise when we were taken to our table seeing several empty table and one being vacated as we sat. I have to question why we would have had to wait a further 20 minutes? Unfortunately, I cannot say the food did this restaurant any justice, especially for the extravagant bill at the end. The food was bland, the salmon had absolutely no flavour and was dry, the spinach had had the life boiled out of it. Overall, I would wish we had gone somewhere.

Had a nice lunch here during our visit to NYC. Food was great. Service was great. Near Central Park. Nice atmosphere and open to outside with nice weather. I had the chicken pot pie. Tasted good. I dumped it out on the plate though because it wouldve taken ages to cool. Hubby had fish and chips and said it was great.

Disappointing! I have eaten at all 3 PJCs several times. There is something not right about this one. Our server really seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else, and my $17 chili was served lukewarm (as was my wifes burger and fries).

Very spacious restaurant (both indoor & outdoor) apparently in business since 1800’s in a very nice neighborhood right by Lincoln Center. Delicious food and nice staff and acceptable price. Much recommended! The

We had lunch. My wife and I and 3 children under 10. The staff were excellent. They went well out of their way to make our meal enjoyable. They went so far as to go down the street and purchase crayons because they had run out for my kids. Highly recommend.

Right across from Lincoln Center, so convenient. Love the burgers, my husband loved his Chicken Milanese & I enjoyed the Chicken Pot Pie this time. The staff was friendly & attentive. Its reasonable by NYC standards & decorated beautifully for the holiday season.

Richard is the best bartender in Manhattan. Pleasant, personable, talented and kind. Made me look like the king of the castle to my date, a true magician!

Overall it’s good. Sunday evening you need to wait for a while for pod to arrive.The fries was great, best fries 🍟 We ordered lamb burgers (good) fish and chips (good), taco was not a smth that you expect taco to be. Service is good, waiters are well-trained.

An informal but excellent place for an informal dinner near Lincoln Center. There are plenty of fresh appetizer and dinner choices. Try the beets as a side dish. They are delicious. Eat outside!

Must order raw oysters, new England clam chowder, and lobster roll. Nothing else. Any bad review is because they didnt get these things.

Ive had a few different items on the menu, and everything has been delicious! Our neighborhood go-to. The service and staff are great. Their bar staff is exceptional! Get a Mint Condition cocktail. You will not be disappointed!

Perfect for dinner before a show at Lincoln Center. The server asked us about our theater-going plans to make sure we were on-time. Food was good and solid albeit a bit generic.

Met my friend for drinks here on Friday night and was so impressed with the whole experience. Christian took great care of us and we will definitely return, especially for another one of the espresso martini.

Excellent choice for dining around Lincoln Center. Lively bar scene. I enjoyed the New England Clam Chowder and the Lasagna, the daily special for Wednesday. This was my first visit to P.J Clarkes. I look forward to my next visit.

Very clean and nice, historic restaurant near Fordham University. The Steak Frites was terrific!

Great place for casual food. They have a good seafood selection and burgers. This place is popular with families and is in a great location for dinner before going to the Lincoln center.

Food and service are fantastic. Pricing is reasonable for this area of NYC. Very accommodating for food allergies as well. Not much else to say. Wont hesitate to go back

Love PJ Clarkes! As a New Yorker, I was resistant to this location. I mean, cmonnn . . . the history on 3rd Ave!? The ghosts of Dempsey, Ruth, Sinatra and others. But they did a good job capturing the atmosphere. The quality of the food didnt suffer. And the raw bar . . . still one of the best in Manhattan. Ultimately, the location is very convenient. On a nice day you can walk it to/from theater district easily. And, of course, Lincoln Center is just across the street

Great spot; near our hotel. Food was great. ( they do have the best burgers in town) Dee our server was very friendly and attentive , Julie the manager came to our table and gave us some directions , she was very nice as well. Will definitely come back on our next trip to NYC.

We went there for dinner before the opera. The server was very nice, friendly and helpful. We ordered a burger and fish. The food was very basic, no breads to start, no starch with $27 fish entree. Because of the mediocre food and high prices I would not go back nor recommend pj Clarke’s.

Lobster roll was really good, and got the mini burger sampler which was phenomenal. Made me sad not to try a regular burger there.

I had a bowl of clam chowder and their pot pie. The chowder was good, if hugely overpriced. The pot-pie was obviously baked only to create a nice-looking crust: the inside, especially the vegetables, were uncooked. Crunchy carrots and celery. Plus, they must not use seasoning. It was very bland.

Great place for dinner and a view of Lincoln center. The burger was great and and fries were delicious. The tacos were alright, the mahi mahi was a little dry but good non the less good.

This is the nicest and One of the most delicious place to eat I in NYC. This is a must try. Outdoor seating and beautiful lighting and canopy’s available

Mostly, see older folks in this location, especially in the afternoon early in the week, but I can tell it gets really busy during the week and late afternoon towards the evening. Perfect for a datenight tbh

The waiter was good and pleasant. It wasnt the waiters fault but we got our appetizers in the middle of our meal which was ridiculous.I got the NY strip steak it cost $45.00 and it was the bigger of the two options.The steak was paper thin and had fat on it. If I bought that in the store it probably would have been a $10 piece of meat, id be surprised if they payed more than $5 for that little piece of meat. It didnt taste too good either.The bill was like $180 for two of us and really was just average at best, im being generous in saying that.They really ripped us off, I recommend not wasting your time and money there.

I walked in and the first negative thing was that I didn’t get the table that I reserved. That was my mistake: I had to leave and cross to the opposite side of the street. In a few minutes we got a table similar to that I reserved. The menu is poor, not a lot to select from. And overpriced.Easy ordering but waited a bit longer. I could understand: very crowded and tone of customers. The food arrived and was not hot enough. It was just warm. Can you imagine: warm steak and warm burgers?!And the last thing: it’s overcrowded and very, very noisy. I couldn’t understand what was the fun of that crowd: poor menu, average quality and noise.Any “Longhorn Steak house” or “Olive Garden” is more enjoyable than this place.

I *came here* with my boyfriend last night after watching the nutcracker, we were one of the first people downstairs, the server was very on point and kind. The place got packed pretty quickly and suddenly our food took almost an hour probably like 45min to come out which was honestly fine by me I was just hangry 😂. I ordered the baked macaroni and cheese that comes with bacon, 9/10. My boyfriend ordered the lobster roll, 9.5/10. The managers were kind enough to give us our drinks and a desert for free since we waited a while because the kitchen staff were messing it up or just forgot? but would definitely come again!

Rachel made our dining experience a lovely one. Our second time here after a few years. Scallops were tender. Chilli was a bit cold but everything else was great. Sundae was nice. Drinks were decent. Steak cooked to liking. Freshest oysters on the west side. A pleasant spot to dine.

If you’re not headed to Lincoln Center or the movies, come to eat during the showtimes! It really is a packed house in the hour-and-a-half before the ballet. The food and service is impeccable. I had the fried chicken with macaroni and cheese while my friend ordered skirt steak. It came out in time and was delicious. We had a child with us and their kid-sized portion was perfect. They serve Shirley Temples! I could not hope to make my way through the people to check out the bathroom and cannot comment on its condition.

Wonderful service, lots of options! Can be a wait at times but it doesnt stop us from coming back! Also the Proper Fish & Chips is REAL proper, my fav on the menu!

Fell into here on Sunday after almost 20 hours of travelling from the UK, the food and service was so good weve just had to return 2 days later for another meal 🥰👌 Absolutely spot on and set the vibes off for our NYC visit perfectly. Special shout out to Stacey who welcomed us 🙌 10/10 x

This food is terribly bland. The service is good tho. Clarke burger had no flavor. The chicken was unseasoned & the Mac and cheese … also bland. The atmosphere tricks u into thinking the food is good. The waiters are super nice and service is great.

Food was pretty good, however it took nearly 30 minutes for us to get our just apps meal. The tables next to us and behind us were sat much later than we were and received their food within a few minutes of us after waiting.The chili is great but it’s $17 for a small pot. The Brussel sprouts & onion strings were good as well.

Server was horrible. Sat for 15 minutes before a separate server came over to get a drink order. Once our actual server came over, she was unfriendly and dismissive. Ordered an appetizer and meals for family. The appetizer and my daughter’s meal were ordered first, before anything else. Our main meal came out first. When a manager asked how everything was, we explained we were waiting for the appetizer and our daughter’s meal. We watched as he went to the server who then went to a computer to input the order. That order came out much later. Once we got our bill, we were charged with everything. Zero customer service to rectify the mistake. Server was terrible all around. Not attentive at all and appeared bothered to be at work. Food however was great. Would never recommend just based on the experience we had.

How can you sell something as a green peppercorn burger when it’s essentially bland and tastes nothing like pepper? Blech. And the service was terrible. It wasn’t busy and yet our waiter disappeared for two 30 minute stretches. When we tried to flag someone else, they ignored us repeatedly. Eventually I gave up and had to ask the (very kind) host to help me get some mustard and pepper to try to give the (now cold) burger some kind of flavor. Never again, PJ Clarke’s!!

Wonderful experience at lunchtime there today with a group of seven The entire staff was friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we had a great experience with our multigenerational group. We love coming here for the burgers, and today’s lunch was an example of why thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely be returning.

I’ve been coming to PJ Clarke’s for nearly 10 years now and it’s incredibly reliable. Christian is the best bartender. Regular days, birthdays, anniversaries— he’s the one you always want to see when you come for a drink. Stop by for the best old fashioned, dirty martini, or even a beer. You won’t be disappointed. Julie also makes you feel right at home.Ok here’s an edit from September 2024— still been years, still a great place. I love the menu…fries are always good and it’s fun to see what’s new (although I really really miss the iceberg wedge) but the people are incredible always. Christian and Julie are excellent when it comes to hospitality and making sure people are taken care of. Christian, especially, is an excellent bartender…have watched him for years and have yet to see a drink returned. He just always gets people’s orders right. Happy PJ Clarke’s is still an UWS staple and happy to keep it here.

PJs reminds me of a local pub with some eclectic flare. Its like Fuddruckers and Pizzeria Uno had a baby! The place was hopping and people were singing at the bar, which added to the great atmosphere and vibe. I ordered the fish and chips which were done well and our large group had a fantastic time with dinner. The manager, Larry, was very cordial and accommodating with our large group and we really owe him a lot for helping us pull this off last minute. Props to him.

I had a big group meet for a 6pm reservation before an 8pm performance. Being that this location is right in front of Lincoln Center, and taking into account that we are in Holiday mode, you would think that Management would ensure adequate staffing… well, this was certainly not the case. Our server was so disengaged that at times she would forget what tables she was attending to… it took 20mins to get our drinks and when the food finally came out to our table, it was almost 7:30pm…Working on service, I can guarantee you that it does not take almost an hour and a half to bring out a Caesar salad.Extremely disappointed with this location and will certainly think twice before visiting again.

Decent burgers, drinks were delicious. Service was good and the food arrived pretty fast. Cozy spot overall.

Food was god awful. I asked for a Cesar salad, and requested them to put the cheese and dressing on the side with the chicken well done. It was literally just lettuce and a partially cooked chicken with absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. Never got my cheese on the side either. I gave the salad back, and they charged me for it anyway! Luckily I caught it and asked them to take it off the bill. Awful food and they tried to pull a fast one on us. Never going here again.

P.J. Clarke’s never fails. Food is wonderful. Cocktails are amazing. If you want a fabulous starter try the Cheese steak egg rolls. The eggs Benedict, burgers, tomato soup w/grillcheese amazing. Christian, Conner and Amber are fabulous mixologists. They are fun and professional. Bloody Mary’s Martinis or a good stout. You can’t go wrong!

This place will never go out of business as long as the Lincoln Center is there. Food is average and overpriced but you pay for the proximity to the Lincoln Center.The steak frites, soup and even the salad were just warm. Hence the herb butter on top of the steak never melted.If you can be bothered to cross over to Broadway or walk up to Columbus Ave you’ll get a better meal for a much lower price. Having said that, service and atmosphere are excellent.

I recently visited P.J. Clarkes at Lincoln Square, a restaurant steeped in history since its inception in 1884, originally catering to Irish immigrant laborers. Now expanded to three locations in NYC, as well as one each in Washington DC and Philadelphia, the place holds a special spot in the citys culinary map.The ambiance at the Lincoln Square location certainly resonates with its great history, offering a delightful atmosphere. However, my dining experience did not live up to the expectations set by the restaurants legacy. The food, while adequate, fell short in terms of design, quality, and portion size, especially considering the prices. It gave me the impression that the kitchen staff was more focused on quickly turning out orders rather than paying attention to the presentation and quality of the dishes.Although P.J. Clarkes boasts a fantastic location and has a remarkable history, my overall experience was underwhelming. The culinary aspect, unfortunately, did not match the charm and legacy of its setting. For a place with such a rich past and promising ambiance, I had hoped for a dining experience that reflected the same standards.

The Lobster Cobb salad was delicious,nice wine selection and lovely relaxed service!

First time coming here since it’s near the school and I might go here often after school. They treat me nicely and the food is pretty good too. I like the service.

These guys are so cool. I’ve been coming in here now for a few months an these guys know what i like to drink the moment they see me, they know me as the “Leffe” Aka MEEKA an whenever I’m chilling @ the bar they treat me as if i work there. The professionalism from the management staff when they see me is always joyful that’s why i make it business to stop in a support the restaurant because they hospitality is unmatched. The guys @ the bar are hilarious an they know they regulars like the back of they hand, lately I’ve been bringing my coworkers with me after work an they proclaimed that PJ’s is they new spot now.

30min wait for a table which was not bad for a busy day. The space was a tad crowded. Our waitress was nice but everything took a very long time, taking the orders and bringing the food and drinks. The food is very good. My husband realized his glass was cracked all the way down and he Informed the waitress and normally at a good restaurant the entire drink would be exchanged, here the drink was transferred, so watered downed and maneuvered which was not expected of a good restaurant, expected better service and protocols for that scenario.

Close to my hotel and after a long, time-zone spanning flight I just wanted food and then a sleep in my hotel. The pluses are that the staff was friendly. The trio of their best burgers was a major disappointment. The food was incorrect and I had to wave down a server who was not mine (my server was busy schmoozing with the staff) to get the order correct. Still not what was on the menu but it is what it is and now it is my review. The sliders were appropriate in size. The fries were great. The draft beer good. And that is about it. The burgers were less than average. If you are going to put your top sellers on a combo plate, they should represent the best. I would have been embarrassed to serve them. They were missing ingredients advertised on the menu. The buns were as cold as if they just came from a fridge. Not what anyone would want. Maybe it was an off night for the kitchen prep. Maybe it is like this all the time. Don’t know and there are lots of other places to try. Would I come back? If I had the same travel circumstances,maybe I would try again.Overall, a meh rating from me.

This place is ok. The burger was excellent and so were the fries but it was all quite off. Like just a little bit on the light side. A little too expensive. The service was a little bit not great as well sadly.

Always a great place to join. Did brunch this time. Wish plates came with a little something (a bit of mesclun next to benedict- or even little amount of fries would be nice next to lobster roll) So we ordered the zucchini and eggplant fritters delicious, (the sauce at bottom yummy and those feta cheese fries are a great touch of surprise) but just a bit too thinly sliced and overcooked as some pieces we couldn’t tell which veggie that was. Overall a lovely Nyc staple. Cocktails definitely to try, very well crafted.

This chain has historic NYC roots, since 1884. Original one is in Manhattan. This Lincoln Square location replicates the old world charms of New York. They serve a variety of pub food, pastas, etc. A bit pricey for the amount of food you get, though.

Love it at PJ Clarke’s - especially for a holiday time lunch. Amazing lobster roll, burger trio, and truffle fries. What more could you want ?

We went as a large group, and PJ Clarke’s was very accommodating. Overall we had a lovely time!The atmosphere: it was a classic burger-style restaurant. The traditional checkered tablecloths and all were on display. The restaurant itself is pretty large.The staff: was charming and patient with our large group.The food: was good. I had a burger that was quite tasty, and the cheesesteak egg rolls were also good.Cleanliness: everything was clean.

The place is pretty crowded even on a weekday during lunch time. The prices are on a higher end, friendly staff, and the place is very clean. I have ordered a burger for myself but I heard their burgers are delicious. I ordered for myself spicy shrimp with capellini, and it was delicious. However, I wish there would be more shrimp in the dish.

Maybe because it was late PM when we were there but service was not up to usual par.We ordered our appetizer and meal and after a short wait we received our meal. We told the fellow that we wanted to cancel our appetizer (oysters). We were ¾ of the way thru our meal when the appetizer appeared we mentioned that we no longer wanted the appetizer as we were already almost done with our meal and we had already told the server. Although they offered it free of charge at that point we no longer had room for it and oysters are not much of a “take away” sort of item. I’m he fish and chips were good but my chicken pot pie was warm not piping hot - overall meh 🫤 experience.Would I go again? Probably because of location and convenience to Lincoln Center and then only for a drink and a app.

I had chicken over arugula salad, it was delicious! The chicken was juicy & cooked just right & the salad so tasty. A bit expensive for a salad but well worth it! Great waiter, too!

I got the arugula salad and since it comes with a soft cheese I asked for a shaved Parmesan. I did NOT expect them to charge after just bc I substituted. Slick but totally unnecessary. The parm was grated and I’m certain has a much lower cost than the other cheese with which it came.It still was tasty and went down the hatch!

The burgers and fries were fantastic. We got the burger sliders, regular fries, truffle parmesean fries, and their regular full-sized burger cooked medium subbed with a different kind of cheese. It was juicy and had a ton of flavor. I think what set it apart was the quality of beef used. There was good service and the restaurant looked nice inside. Its also in an area thats nice to walk around in after you eat.

The restaurant looks great and has a beautiful view over the Lincoln Center. The food is good and the service is really attentive. I had a wonderful time there with my friends and i will go back.

Excellent restaurant bar, perfect for a pre-show meal. Bustling environment but not in a bad way. The lobster roll was excellent, filled with huge chunks of meat and the salmon was tasty and cooked perfectly. And the truffle fries were crunchy and hot! Acceptable prices given the area. Will always come back here when in the neighborhood.

Bartenders were experienced and just awesome! Food was good as well. Prices, for NYC, are reasonable.

We loved the bustling retro-casual atmosphere and the place was very clean. We had the perfect table in the corner behind a pole with partial bench seating. Very unique and we felt cozy there with our 1and a half year-old. The servers were fantastic; hard working, courteous and attentive. The problem was... the food was overpriced and not very good. The ribs were average, the fish and chips were soggy inside as if they were frozen to the fryer and the fries were a bit limp. Sadly we were disappointed. The pictures of the brunch look appealing so Id like to give that a shot one day, but I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

Really a 2.5 but the atmosphere is cool enough so well round up.Place is just ok.My service was fine. Food was less stellar. Like so many other reviews have mentioned, it not much for the price. Dont expect to get a sizable portion at all. Im sure there is a Lincoln Square surcharge here because the prices just dont add up.The chicken pot pie (pictured) is rather basic. Mine was hot and not just warm tho. It was smallish and taste wise, it was... Fine.The scallops was ordered by someone else at the table and that was a little better but quiet underwhelming as far as amount and still just fine on the taste-o-meter.Somebody else had the BBQ burger with fries. Fries werent bad tho.This IS NOT a place you come out the way to. You just might even consider passing this place up leaving out of a show at Lincoln Square to be honest. But if you came, you wont be impressed and probably not let down but there is a possibility you could be.

Ive been coming here for years, and my recent experience makes me think this place has gone downhill. The waiter messed up our order, made it right then charged us 2x for the item. When questioned about it, he disappeared and we waited for 20+ minutes until we just gave up. Not worth the time to argue over $12. Also not worth going back, given the circumstances.

PG Clarkes was cool...and all. One hundred points in my book because of location location LOCATION.My visit was late winter just on the cusp of spring 2022 and I would really like to experience this spot, area during warmer months. The water beckons.I really didnt stop in for their food (hey whiskey!) but the seafood selections (osters, salmon) I DID try wasnt too bad.Service professional and quick (thanks Shana, Im hoping I didnt get your name wrong). And I like that you get a cute little thank you card when leaving.Will try again when next Im in the area.The End.

Very convenient to Lincoln Center, this restaurant is cozy and friendly, informal and not too expensive. Staff are friendly and helpful. It can be a bit noisy at times, though. The menu is diverse. The raw bar is great. We really like the New England clam chowder on a cold day.

Nice service, but not the best food. The fried chicken was super dry. Our table actually sent back the fish and chips because it was so soggy. They also never delivered our appetizer. It was a busy day, but a seasoned restaurant like this should know how to deal. Definitely wont consider coming back.

Excellent burger, ok fries, nice Brooklyn Lager, served thankfully and with a smile. The server and hostess were both smilers, and that’s really nice to see. Very convenient to Lincoln Center and the Empire hotel.

Though we arrived during a busy dinnertime, we were sat quickly. We had a lovely server who took our order, however, our soup was lukewarm not hot. Our server did offer to warm it up for us; I did not take her up on that but my mom did; we were still disappointed.

This is one of the more old-world style restaurants. We came in here one day to try out their burgers and the mac and cheese dish. Both were excellent. I was a big fan of the mac and cheese. Ive had better burgers, but this wasnt bad. The spot itself is pretty big, with both an upstairs and a downstairs. Theres lots of room so youre not cramped while eating. The prices are a little high for what you get, but I think you can attribute that to the neighborhood. The spot was pretty packed for lunch with a 15 minute wait, so plan ahead. Overall, it was pretty good and would be willing to try out some other dishes.

Wings were crap but the fish & chips were pretty good. Service is horrible and if there is a soccer game on, the bartenders forget there are customers there, they wont serve you unless you hollar at them. Guy literally walked by my empty beer glass 15 times before I said something.

I got the infamous Cadillac burger, with a side of fries and a bottle of cider. Overall I was very happy with the burger. It had a variety of toppings, which gave it a flavor that is pretty good. They did mask the beef flavor a bit, but overall its a good place to eat.

A good hamburger place near the Lincoln center so you can grab snacks after seeing performance.

Whenever we go to a performance at Lincoln Center, we go to P.J. Clarkes. Perfect location for pre - or post performance meal. The oysters are always amazing, drinks are perfectly crafted, and meals are always done well. Service has always been efficient and warm.

First time here. Very rarely in this part of New York City. I like the location - right across the street from Lincoln Center. It seems to be like by all ages groups. I had the chicken pot pie which was very good. Prices are typical for the city near a tourist attraction. Burgers start at $16 and full meals can go up to $35. Desserts are not worth the money! Walk around and find a nice pastry shop! Not happy! When I went to pay they do not take Discover Card. Last visit here!

Food was really good! The woman that speaks spanish at the entrance was really nice and made our visit much easier.Our waiter talked very fast and it was evident that we had some troubles to understand her, and she didn’t slow down.But for the rest was really good, tasty hamburger and chips and a cool restaurant decoration.

I went with my daughter and we saw 2 rats crawling on the floor and it scared her half to death. When we told the server he laughed and said that’s New York that’s normal and walked off. I understand maybe in a patio outside but inside???!! Avoid this place at all costs. Food was also overpriced and small.

Very good food. You can always judge a bartender by how well they make and old fashioned... and it was excellent. Oysters served over ice, fresh and delicious. Had the braised lamb... Very good.Server was engaging and attentive.

Ruben was not good, everything else was great. I went there for a ruben sandwich. The meat was too tough and thick to bite into. I took the sandwich apart and tried to use the knife they provided to trim some of the tough parts away, no luck. The meat was too tough to be cut so thick. Tough meet needs to be thin sliced. My wifes crab sandwich was good as well as the kids burgers.

We had a great lunch here. The oysters were fantastic, the Cadillac burger (what brought me here) was delicious, and the Mac ‘n cheese was great too! My wife gets the Mac ‘n Cheese everywhere she goes and this was the best we had in the city. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful.

Its got a nice warm atmosphere and a comfy decor. The food is a little more pricey than your average bar but its pretty good. I had the chili which the waiter kept telling me was a soup and I kept saying Is it thick though and he said yes, which left me in doubt. But it was a thick and tasty chili and was all I needed with a side of fries.

I loved this place, I came in with three friends, we had a great time ! Food was delicious, service was EXCELLENT, we had the pleasure to be helped by two servers, named Andres Rodriguez and Giovanny, they were both amazing and fast taking the orders. I will definitely come back soon and make sure you ask for them on your next visit !!

Disappointing Experience at P.J. Clarke’s: As someone who has been to P.J. Clarke’s in Lincoln Square several times, I really wanted to like this bar. The food and drinks are decent, and the location is convenient, but the service, unfortunately, leaves a lot to be desired—especially if you’re not a regular or don’t fit a certain profile.Repeatedly, as a non-white person, I’ve sat at the bar only to be ignored for 10-15 minutes before even being acknowledged. Orders have been delayed, and the overall attitude from the bartenders has been indifferent at best, sometimes downright dismissive. This includes bartenders of Hispanic background, which adds to the disappointment.In contrast, I’ve watched wealthy-looking white patrons, regulars, or musicians from the New York Philharmonic or Metropolitan Opera walk in after me and be served almost immediately. It’s hard not to feel like the average New Yorker isn’t welcome here unless they’re flashing money or prestige.The vibe at the bar often made me feel like I was occupying a space they’d rather save for someone else. If you’re not prepared to tip generously upfront or order expensive items like oysters and fancy cocktails, don’t expect to be treated with much respect.I hope P.J. Clarke’s takes feedback like this seriously because no one should feel unwelcome based on their appearance or perceived status.

Despite the large brunch crowd on a Saturday afternoon, my friend and I were super lucky to be seated at a quiet corner table next to a window. Our friendly and funny server treated us like we were at her home. We ordered the fried calamari to share before our fish entrees, which we paired with a bottle of white wine (Sancerre?). Everything was excellent. Id recommend this place (if you can get a table!)

A complete scam for the Thanksgiving meal. Served cold plates, and food tasted horrible. Dirty silverware and bad service. This also happened to the tables next to us, so it wasnt only our experience. The waiters were even complaining to us. This was a miserable dining experience for everyone involved. I am embarrased I paid what i paid for meal, they should be ashamed.

We have had brunch here prior to Lincoln Center matinees and have never been disappointed. The food is basic pub-style with a nice modern flair. The excellent raw-bar is a neighborhood favorite so this place is usually hopping. I can heartily recommend the burgers and eggs benedict with smoked salmon at brunch. The staff is very friendly and attentive without being overbearing and the location directly across from Lincoln Center is super convenient. Very family-friendly and not too expensive for the location.

Of all restaurants I ate at during my last vacation in Manhattan, this was the only one that really disappointed me from my expectations.Right across the street from Lincoln Center, the location is awesome.The food was not consistent (medium rare steak 1/3 medium, 1/3 medium rare, 1/3 rare-cool).Ordered a raw oyster that came when dessert should of arrived.It may of just been a busy day. Maybe not.

The burger was pretty good but not great. I liked the buns and the meat, but I asked for medium and got a well done burger. The cauliflower side was pretty good and the beef stew was good as well.

My husband and I stayed at the Empire for a week and we were in PJ Clarkes practically every night for a nightcap. Its a fun establishment that is clearly a staple in the area. Looking around all of the guests were happy and satisfied and staff was friendly and made it a point to remember names.Food is yummy and drinks were great!!!

Long wait without reservations, ordered 34. Lobster roll that looked delicious but had no flavor whatsoever. I saw someone ordered the fish and chips and it looked phenomenal. The sea bass over spinach was delicious according to the person I was with.

I always go to this place after a show. Its got decent prices for restaurants around Lincoln center. Atmosphere is cozy, staff is always friendly and helpful. Food is good, not great in my opinion.

Horrible food. Appetizers (shares for two persons) were the size of my fist and ridiculously overpriced. Taste like feet. Burgers were so-so. Service and atmosphere were decent though. This place obviously survives on one-time-tourists and ballet-goers that get the munchies on the way home.

It was ok. I ordered the classic lobster and a hamburger. The classic lobster sandwich is a cold sandwich and the bread didn’t taste fresh. I left the bun out. Coming from FL, Engine N°9 still have the best burgers!

Our waitress was sublime. The food was good basic pub type food, we have burgers. Nice casual vibe, across from lincoln center. Dessert was pretty amazing though, the cherry cobbler was a meal unto itself.

My friend and I were looking for a restaurant with history, quality food and atmosphere. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. I ordered the Bohemian Beef Stew and as you can see from the picture.....WHERES THE STEW? You can barely see it with the huge scoop of mashed Potatoes and bread. This restaurant was all sizzle with no stew. Betweem the small portion amounts, poor presentation and high prices....we will not be back.

Great variety of food. You CAN get something healthy if you want, even if everyone else at the table is getting cheeseburgers and fries! The location is great, theres a million table so you can always get in, and you get to look at it Lincoln Center. Its just a fun, inexpensive, dependable place.

Popped in for a drink and some Truffle fries during happy hour. Lovely staff, great fries and the drinks were great. I had a spicy jalapeño Marg and it did the trick.

PJ Clarke’s has gone downhill. We had the lobster roll which is very small for $36 and just OK. There are many other places in Manhattan where the lobster rolls are so much better and bigger. Also, for $36 the least they can do is throw in french fries.We are from the neighborhood and the are so many better restaurants than Clarke’s.It’s very overrated and I would not recommend the place.

We went in for a quick bite before the opera. We were 20 minutes late for our Friday night reservation (we called to let them know). They were packed, yet they held our table and we were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. Waitress was very kind and attentive. We told her we had an 8pm curtain and she served us quickly and efficiently. The food was pricy -- but we expect that given the location. Most importantly, it was delicious! I had a lobster salad sandwich and fries. The lobster was sweet and tender. The fries were amazing! If I had more time, I would have ordered another serving. My companion had the steak frites -- again, amazing. Tender, juicy, and flavorful. I had no complaints and I cant wait to go back.

Weve always come here for reliably delicious food and good service. Last weekend, we waited for a long time (45 mins) after we ordered. We were then told that our food order ticket got lost so we had to wait 10-15 more minutes. The manager Eddie came out and apologized for the delay. The food was excellent, but Eddie made us want to come back again. Thank you..

SO disappointed. My brother has raved about this place for years and we finally made it. My daughter was looking forward to a special steak dinner before the ballet. We each ordered steak frites--she ordered hers medium, I ordered mine medium rare. We also ordered a salad to split. The steaks came first; I asked about the salad and was told it was on the way. When the steaks came, mine was well done. The waiter took it back to be redone and I watched as my daughter finished hers. Then the salad came, not as it was ordered either. Finally my steak came and was good--by that time, however, my daughter was well beyond finished, and ordered dessert. Our waiter disappeared for quite a while and finally came--without the dessert--at which time we had to leave for the ballet.

The food here is pretty great. I think the tater tots are the best thing on the menu here and I have heard that the burgers are really good. While P.J. Clarkes is a good place to eat on its own, it really shines when there is a game on and New York is playing. I love watching the people at the bar get so into it. Im a big sports fan, and whenever I eat here during a game, I feel like Im at a super bowl party. Its a little overpriced, but I cant help coming back for more.

Great burger. Ordered medium rare and came out perfect. Wait staff was swamped, but once attended to received great service / checkups, but not to the point of being obnoxious. A little loud, but could be attributed to the increased traffic due to fashion week. Would go again.

P.J. Clarke’s… This is a second home for all of us performers that work at Lincoln center. We come here during our rehearsal breaks. We come after we finish our bows. It’s the place we celebrate our birthdays when we have performances. It’s the place we’re singers, directors, actors, and dancers blow off the steam of a full day creating art. It’s the place we come to recover and laugh. The managers Julie and John welcome us in like parents welcoming their kids home from school. Mike at the bar knows how to take care of you. There’s a genuine love filled energy that fills the room when we enter the bar. This is a real deal real life theater bar, where actors and artists are family. If you come here just once you’ll have a great time. But P.J. Clarke’s isn’t a place you just come once, it’s a place you make yourself at home. It’s a place you make yourself a regular. That’s the magic.P.S. as an avid chicken sandwich connoisseur, this place makes one of the best classic chicken sandwiches in nyc. Period.

Got us in & out before a show without us having a reservation . Impressive . Dependable good service & food just like the other pj locations . If I remember correctly this is the location that a scene from Annie Hall is filmed . We had fun sitting facing the street with open air windows watching people walk by . Good spot .

Nice atmosphere and cozy restaurant. Didn’t feel touristy at all for the location near Lincoln center. Great menu selection with amazing burgers. I ordered the French Onion burger and subbed a caesar salad instead of the french fries — $5 up charge. Burger was already $22 so paid $27 for a burger with a small caesar salad. Burger was amazing but $5 for a small salad isn’t right. Overall, food was good but a pricey restaurant and they nickel and dime you.

Went there After seeing Porgy and Bess with my Wheelchair bound Mom. A 35- minute table wait turned into nearly an hour and Front of the house staff had forgotten us, despite us sitting there in their faces.Once seated it took 20 minutes to get a waiter and on a night like this is when they decide to train a new guy.The Menu has been seriously cut down. Ive been to this location several times in the last 13 years, and the scant offerings are a joke. They removed the signature Wedge salad And only offered ONE soup?!That soup was N.E Clam Chowder and According to my mom ( I am allergic) it was HEAVILY salted to the point of being inedible. zit was concentrated in a tiny bowl that was more like a cup. When I asked the qaiter to take it and customize it, to thin it out with zo.e cream and a little water to dilute the salt, I was told about how the kitchen didnt want to do that because the chowder would break down.I cook. I know if you whisk cream.and water into a chowder they will emulsify and stay coherent.The main courses were no better! Chopped steam with a sunny side up egg ( no substitution on style of egg allowed ) with mushrooms and garlic toast. No side dishes.... there was Garlic toast and very few mushrooms slices. Again too salty.The Mac and cheese (ordered separately) was nothing more than Kraft Velveeta Chells and Cheese with added peas and sugar. Since when is Mac n Cheese supposed to be Sweet?!The Brussel Sprouts were okay. pretty bland, but with all the salt from other dishes, I was actually glad of that.I spent $100.00 (tip included) on a dinner I wouldnt feed to a rat. PJ Clarkes has serious fallen off and seems to be just another tourist trap now. there are Far better steak houses for upscale dining. I will Not be returning anytime soon my tongue needs time to recover... so does my blood pressure . if only I could give Zero stars

Food was mediocre at best. Calamari was under cooked and rubberie. Fries nothing special, most like McDonalds.

The food and service are always great here. Its conveniently located near Lincoln Center, which I like to visit whenever Im in the city and not far from Central Park, which I also fit in to almost every visit. The crab cakes are AMAZING! The fried calamari & ahi tacos were also great - never disappointed there.

Would come back! The burgers are amazing, the tuna tartar was delicious and the staff was super friendly. The atmosphere was very warm and relaxed and refine.

I had a cocktail here once a few years ago prior to a Lincoln Center event. I remember thinking how mid it was back then. Nothing has changed.This time, I came in post Nutcracker. Everything about this place is mid. Except the price, which is expensive for what you get. Well- it’s convenient for the Lincoln Center crowd, so they got that going for them.This is not a destination. It’s an option because you’re going to Lincoln Center or coming out of it, and need a bite asap.

This place was terrible. The food is very expensive and mediocre at best. Went there with my girlfriend and had, (two burgers + two drinks + one bowl of soup = $100). When we initially arrived we were told the wait would be one hour. We decided to try and sit at the bar to avoid the long wait. We found two spots at the bar and were blatantly ignored by the bar tender who by the way was ignoring everyone else as well. It took him 20min just to come up to us and hand us the menu after which he continued to ignore us again. He saw we were waiting to be served but he didnt care. He just had that look on his face as if he is the most important person in the room, and not the customer. We left the bar and then eventually were seated. The service got better at the table because the new server person noticed we switch spots from the bar to the table. So he tried to accommodate best he could. By that time we were already jaded by this place. The bill at the end did not help either. There are better places in NYC than this to get burgers and service. Save your money and your time, go somewhere else.

It was recommended by friends but I was a bit disappointed with the wagyu burger. Mac and cheese was great though. Did not meet my expectations. The atmosphere was great and the men’s room has a great history.

Take is is great. Does take time so it’s best to order ahead.

We love this restaurant! The servers are great, fun drinks, and the food is delicious (try the cheesesteak egg rolls!). Our server took great care of us.

Finally went to PJ Clarks Lincoln Square for the longest time i have wanted to try thier burger walked in went to the bar ordered a Bacon cheddar rare and about 7 min later was ready got home and destroyed this perfectly cooked rare burger I will definitely be back when I want to get my fat juicy burger fix. Forgot to mention the burger is called Cadillac Burger

Great food! The lobster roll is amazing! Awesome staff and very attentive. The wait can get a little long but I usually dont have any complaints walking out.

Have gone twice on a Friday night for dinner, same time, right before an 8pm performance across the street at Lincoln center. One time it was packed and the other time there were empty seats everywhere.The skirt steak frites is very good, but I recommend you stay away from the new England clam chowder. Only way to make a reservation is through the phone.

A classic New York dining experience will draw you back each time you visit, especially of you are fond of Lobster Roll. The French Fries and Bloody Mary drinks are amazing!

I cannot recommend PJ Clarkes enough. Food was great, service was amazing, an overall great time for me and my girls! Pedro our server was on point and the manager Mazin really made my family feel welcome and at home! Cheesecake and Chocolate Mousse cake...are a must!

A very nice place to stay and eat, burgers are really excellent. We had the chance to lunch here twice. And we will come back if we will be so lucky to come back to NYC

Brilliantly decorated for the holidays, with a gorgeous view of Lincoln Center, PJ Clarke’s is a fine choice among many on the West Side. Our family enjoyed the personal service from the very warm and friendly manager, Mr. Manahi, who is genuinely interested in ensuring you enjoy your dining experience and wish to return. The Mac and cheese appetizer was the best I have tasted. My son rated his Cadillac burger very high, and the chicken pot pie was golden brown, creamy and delicious with the perfect ratio of chicken and vegetables. We will definitely go back. I have my eye on the fish tacos...

We love P.J. Clarkes. We always have a late dinner here after a Broadway show. Great raw bar, sheppards pot pie and steaks. Really good burgers. No parking. Reservations necessary. Located next to Lincoln Center. We love it.

Service was a bit slow- but it was peak time. Overall, it’s a very good diner experience.

The service for our large group was excellent. Their drinks are to die for, especially the hot buttered rum on a snowy day. The winters stew was absolutely perfectly seasoned and mouthwateringly delicious.

The atmosphere, decor and staff are top notch!! Definitely a place to bring the friends and family when they visit. I had to deduct one star just because I wasn’t blown away by the burger.... it was pretty dry and tasteless unfortunately.

Overcrowded, took forever to get a steak I couldnt eat because it was way too tough. My daughter didnt want it either. If youre not going for a burger dont bother

Expensive. I think my carder salad was 29 bucks. It’s trying to run off the reputation of the original that being said it’s a good quick bite if you don’t care about throwing away your money before theatre. ;)

I havent been to many US restaurants so take my opinion with a grain of salt.Seeing this venue right after exiting the Lincoln Center, I was expecting an overpriced menu with lousy food (as befits a place occupying such real estate); however, I was pleasantly surprised. Both me and my friends found the food pleasing (even if nothing to write home about) and the prices absolutely affordable.Also, the service was just fine.

Wonderful service! Our waitress checked in with on a regular basis. Offered good suggestion of what to try. Food was delicious! A great way to end our day after the show. Thank you!

The host was effective to make my husband and I get out of this restaurant very fast. We left Lincoln Center and decided to go to Rosa Mexicano, but passing by the p.g Clarke’s we decided to try a novelty for us. We saw that was not so busy and would have to wait to get a table. For our incredible surprise the host assistant gave to us the worse table in the restaurant. When we refused to get that table the Host assistant said that we had to go back to the front door to check what table we could get. This is exactly how a business go down hill.We had a fantastic dinner in Rosa Mexicano.

Love coming here during the Opera season and dancing during the summer months. Christian the bartender makes a great Martini and is always a pleasure. He’s simply the best

Bad service and awful food.The chicken pot pie had no taste and it was under cooked, the sandwich consisted of soggy bread, dry turkey, and cold cheese (no side fries, 17$!!)When the waiter removed the uneaten pie he didnt even bother to ask if there was a problem with it.It was even hard for us to get our water refilled.Probably the worst meal Ive had in New York in years.

Frankly, no better place for a pre-lincoln center cocktail and a plate of cold pristine oysters. The only downside is that everyone knows this, and it gets uncomfortably crowded sometimes.

The burger was average (the meat didnt really taste of much but it was well cooked). The fries that came with it were fine. They have a (insane) $5 charge for changing your friend to a side salad which is definitely not worth it.What Im writing the review for is the service. We had a waiter who was impatient and made it uncomfortable for us to stick around. We wanted to have drinks and dessert after but left because the waiters service made us want to leave.A very average place so Im not sure why theres so much hype around this place.

Great waitstaff. The hostesses were a bit disorganized but they couldve been new, didnt let that damper my experience. The wagyu burger - fantastic. I can still taste it. I want to come back and try something different but Ill probably just get another wagyu burger LOL.

Great restaurant, no doubt about it. Our service was excellent and the food was incredible. I got the Cadillac and was not disappointed.

A reasonable disaster and a disappointment. My beer had no head and no bubbles and was flat. My crabcake had pockets of bread throughout, and I wasnt sure if I was eating crab or stuffing. But the worst was the chicken pot pie. While the chicken was fine, none of the vegetables had been cooked enough in the bland sauce such that the flavors began to blend. The celery was almost raw. Instead of the traditional pastry topping, a breading was used that was more than one inch thick. It constituted more than 1/3 of the dish, and it was impossible to eat it all. We longed for the days when the space was occupied by Iridium.
