Why would I stay if that was the case. You were not interested in serving at all. Probably you were interested in people who ordered alcohol as well. After around 40 minutes I left hungry. You dont defend your mistakes, you own it and dont repeat it.

I hosted my 30th birthday party at Royale and we had a fantastic time! The drinks were great and the food was amazing. The service was on point and management was really easy to work with in booking the space. We had a fantastic time! Highly recommend!

Simply delicious. They say it is the best burger in nyc. The meat is pure. It is cooked a perfect medium rare. The bun is soft, never soggy. The burger is accompanied by a perfect ipa or whatever you chose from the bar. And then there’s the beer batter onion rings. Mind blown.

The whole staff is just amazing! Sundays at Royale is our place to go to after coming out of the House of the Lord. Burgers, nacho dip, and wings, along with fun & board games. They also have a back patio to sit, eat, drink, and just chill out while enjoying your time there. Cant beat that every Sunday! Special shout out to Hailey, I love ya, Gurl!!!

This east side pub has a good menu. I came in here on a Friday night and got their royale with cheese (a cheeseburger). The meat had a great savory flavor of one thats been cooked to perfection. The music selection is great too, making the whole place fun to hang out.

Hands down one of the best burgers you will find in NYC. I added an egg to mine but any burger you choose is amazing. The choice/choices of meat used to make the burger patties is phenomenal. Bartenders are friendly and make good drinks as well.

Came for food and drinks in the middle of the day. Ordered buffalo wings, mac n cheese and a smash burger. I wanted to like everything but it was all so dry. The food was a bit disappointing. The atmosphere is cool so we will come back for drinks.

Despite a slight hiccup due to weather, the team acted quickly with the retractable roof and provided options to move part of our event inside if needed.Daves team was incredibly gracious with the event setup, allowing us to reconfigure the deck to accommodate our photo booth activation and speaker system for our drag entertainer’s performance. The food and drink service was unbeatable – Brooklyn prices in the city are hard to come by, and the quality of the food was a highlight.10/10 – I will definitely consider rebooking with his team for both personal and corporate events!

Recommended by the owner of another venue a few doors down.It was bustling with...not noise but what sounded like good ole conversations and loads of fun.The staff was very accommodating and genuinely attentive and conversational.My group of 4 sat out back under heaters and it wasnt bad at all.We had the spicy hot apple cider and vanilla dessert balls. I forget🤦🏾 but we played the board games and just hung out a bit. Cozy spot.🙆🏾‍♀️

This was the first bar I ever hung out in when I moved to NY, and I can’t say enough amazing things about them. The food is amazing, and their burgers are some of the best I’ve had in the city. The service is wonderful and the staff always make me feel welcome.They have outdoor seating and a beautiful patio. It’s a great place to go solo or with a large group of friends.

Nice atmosphere, has indoor and outdoor seating, burger was good but nothin to write home about, you can tell its quality ingredients though! Fries were decent. Food came quick but service after that was a bit slow, the bartender was the only one walking back and forth waiting all the tables and then serving drinks at the bar. The thing that caught me off guard was that the ketchup tasted like they poured beer in there, not sure if it was just the bottle at our table or what.

We recently hosted my buddys pre-wedding party at Royale and it couldnt have been more perfect. We took over the back patio space and the ambiance, food, drinks, music, good vibes from the staff were all top notch. Dave from the events team was awesome to work with in the lead up and planning. Ryan (our on-site contact) was efficient, and easy going - he kept the drinks flowing and in order which is no small feat! We were also impressed by the quality of the food which we added with our open bar package. GREAT experience overall and would happily and without hesitation host here again :)

Royale is a true neighborhood bar in the East Village; it’s rare to stop in and not recognize a customer or get a friendly greeting from the staff. The food is consistently high quality and delicious with a great selection of beers on tap. The back patio is a fantastic hidden gem for relaxing in year round. All in all it is a great bar!

I had my daughters going away party in their backyard garden area and everything was just PERFECT from the atmosphere to the service to the food and drinks! The food was excellent, the server was excellent, the place was nicely decorated for Christmas. However, the only pet peeve I had was that all the indoor tables are high tops which I find uncomfortable and all the seats with the exception of the ones at the bar are so narrow theres no way either I or members of our party of five could sit at them. Therefore we had to sit at the picnic tables on the open patio in the back. There was overhead heat lamps which helped but it was freezing out there. If the seating remains the same I will still return as the food & service were fabulous, however, it wont be until the Spring or Summer. Its within walking distance to our apartment so I definitely will return when it warms up.

This place is real deal bomb dot com! This is the go to place for my kids and their friends as well as many adults with n the community. The demography is super vast- all ages. Ryan (twin) is absolutely amazing with his sick accent and witty humor. Hailey is everyone’s sis- super down to earth and no nonsense (love, love her). Rene is a total Boo thang- great with the kids and Geraldo is that soul man- super dope vibes on a late night. The Marcellus and the grand Royale are absolutely fire. I don’t usually eat burgers out because a previous bad experience. However this place feels like home.

I enjoyed the food and the drinks. The servers were very accommodating. I attended a fundraiser at Royale and thought it was very gracious of them to make a donation to the cause. The only thing I think could be better is their private room. It seems like a recent add on that needs a little bit more work. All in all it was a great time. Looking forward to going back.

The Best Mutha Phucka Burger Ive found in NYC. The meat is thick, and the oil permeates gloriously through it, so it has a crispy, grilled, layered texture on the outer part- reminiscent of of the crystallization in the caramel of creme brûlée. Delicious. The cow breeding reminds me of the tastes in a Krispy creme doughnut, without the sweetness. Great service with a clean cut pub environment. Best Burger in NYC

Ive never had a bad thing on the menu - its all delicious. Its not a dive bar - great selection of mixed drinks/cocktails. The beer selection is pretty standard - maybe slightly above average. The outdoor area is really cozy and they keep it open when its chilly (heat lamps).The staff is all fun, cool and friendly...this has become my friends Cheers bar and it will be till we leave alphabet city.I do wish their happy hour were better, but hey, its still my favorite place to meet friends in the hood.

I have visited the Royale on a number of occasions whilst in NYC. The manager Ryan is very helpful and goes the extra mile to ensure everyone has a good experience. The staff are all very helpful and the food is amazing.

Very friendly staff and absolutely delicious sandwiches.Ok, Bridgette is the absolute worst. Inattentive, unengaging, bringing her personal problems to work…so different from other staff. “Do you want another beer?” versus “Would you like another beer?” It makes a big difference in the experience.

Husky-voiced, braless waitress was attentive, and oddly I sensed no irony in her voice when she had to repeatedly ask, as our large table ordered, do you want fries with that? Good sport. Large outdoor backyard space is the draw. Kale salad was tasty but smallish. Inside bar area seemed busy and happy. Good for groups and parties.

I liked this restaurant as soon as I walked in! The staff was very quick to help us and the bartender made great drinks! We did not wait too long to get a seat in the outside dining area and our food was delicious! The atmosphere was great and everyone was super friendly. Sad to say this was my last visit to Royale. Service was so bad. Server was completely unbothered that our food (burgers!) weren’t ready after more than an hour. Yes they were busy, mostly taking care of pickup and delivery orders while leaving their dine-in customers waiting. Strangely enough I’d just had lunch there earlier today. I understand the kitchen can get backed up, and maybe the server was coming in with a bad event in his life prior to work etc, but to be so dismissive of our hour + wait for a few burgers for our family (and still not have them ready) means they just won’t be on our list anymore. Shame because it had been a cool spot.

This casual bar makes more than one reference to Pulp Fiction on their menu. Known for their burgers, the basic burger is of course called The Royale. The Cheeseburger is called The Royale With Cheese. And a specialty burger with Gruyere, Maytag Blue, and truffle salt is called The Marcellus Wallace! I gotta say, the burgers were good. I had the Marcellus Wallace without the carmelized onions. Their truffle fries are pretty darn good too. Didnt have a drink but their bar seemed pretty well stocked. The atmosphere was laid back. Shorts and flip-flops pass the test to get in the door. Wait staff was super friendly and reasonably prompt. Definitely recommended.

This is a simple, yet very solid bar that serves good food. The scene is usually pretty chill unless there’s a major game going on that day. The space in the back is great and they usually have space for you. The star of the joint is clearly their simple, yet well-executed burgers. I will also say their beers are tap above average. We went here on a Thursday night and were pleasantly surprised by the happy hour special: $1 oysters. Yup, I couldn’t resist and was very happy with our half doz.

The burger at Royale is cheap and pretty worth it. Though the meat isnt the greatest, you get what you pay for: a cheap good enough burger for the price it comes at. One thing I would recommend are the onion rings and the fries. Also their backyard/terrace is great in the summer-time (or in the winter they have heat lamps as well).

I rarely rarely rarely give bad reviews. But honestly this is one of the worst Burgers I had in New York City. Im the type of person who seeks out a good burger. I love hamburgers. And I had high hopes for this cute and hip looking bar/ restaurant. What was presented to me was a smaller than average hamburger well-done and lacking in any sort of taste whatsoever on an insipid bun with a hodge podge of random toppings. Wholly unsatisfied. The people who work there are swell but the burgers are not.

The food is pretty great here, just with they stop using news papper for the food though. The ink and stuff, not really a good idea having it rub against the food. Other than that, the food is really delicious thought.

By far the worst place to go to for an event, this place had the audacity to cancel on me the day of when I made my reservations last week. I called the day before asking to move up the reservations and they said nothing about cancellation or not having enough space. I feel as if for a person who calls a week in advance you make space for them and for a person who calls the day before you let them know. It was a waste of time having to dress up for my birthday and to get turned down the same day. And it was a total waste of my friends and family’s time to come all the way from queens to this place in the lower east side. Horrible!

I know, but get the chicken. Tiny little hole in the wall on avenue c. Great burgers, better fried chicken sandwich. Free chicken wings during halftime of monday night football. Thats how they got me in there the first time, Im such a sucker for signs on the sidewalk. Lovely waitresses and bartenders. Beer prices are eh. I got suckered into a beer bucket, which never happens to me. Mini Coronas, but the waitress was so nice! I come back often for the chicken sandwich it really is the tippy top. Price is reasonable chicken wise. If you dont live over here you wouldnt know this place is here. So get over here and try it!

Royale is disguised as a neighborhood pub but in reality it is burger gastroenterologists playground.They dont serve many food here and to be honest, you could and should overlook everything else other than fries, onion rings and their burgers.The burger is merely $7 and it is a generous one. The beef patty is juicy and grilled to sizzling hot and tasty. If you order it with bacon, they make sure it is piled layers after layers on top of your patty.The bun is just right; it is not soaked through nor does it get crushed.Order a side of onion rings to go with it and you wont regret coming all the way to Avenue C.

The staff is incredibly friendly and hard-working, the drink selections are always on point, and the burger is delicious & reasonably priced.I always take family and out of town friends here because I know it’s going to be a good time. Bonus points if you ever take advantage of the backyard seating. It’s very pretty and you couldn’t tell that from walking down the street.Highly recommend!

We came here for an afterparty for our small wedding and had an absolute blast! john and mateo took amazing care of us from start to finish and we had exactly the experience we were hoping for. there are lots of bars in nyc but not all of them have this kind of customer service; we felt like they really cared that we had a good night. would recommend to anyone

Kitchen forgot my grilled onions and sent out burnt fries. When I asked about it, they said the grill was down (even though I had just received a freshly grilled burger).Bartender was nice. Burger was good, but disappointed that they didnt serve what I ordered and my fries were burned.

Royale is the go to bar for good food, good sports and good people. I highly recommend the bacon Royale with cheese and I also enjoy the chicken fingers. Top notch French fries. Ask for Hailey, she is the best bartender in the city and will take care of you. If Hailey’s not around ask for Ryan he is also very good. Good tv situation for sports fans

Haley and Ryan are so friendly and have incredible banter between the patrons and the staff, the food is delicious and the beer is a unique selection. Very cutely decorated for the holidays also!

First time back to NYC in a while. We stopped here after a vigorous day of shopping and hanging.Everything was perfect. The ambiance was just what we were looking for. A little pub feel in the front and a quaint NYC patio in the back with games and good energy.The staff exceeded my expectations, and the food was on point.Definitely would come back here again and again.

This is a nice place in the LES area, and the burger is definitely good. I will recommend people to try the burger. Drinks seem good and they also have a backyard area.

Had a big birthday party here a few years ago. The team went above and beyond to make the organization stress-free, easy, and accommodating for some of our special requests (sabering champagne, bringing cake, etc.). The food (especially the burger) was delicious. The whole place brings the best of a laid back neighborhood bar with outdoor space + excellent food and drinks that youd find at trendy spots that are difficult to get into. Highly recommend!

Royale is a real East Village legend at this point. And even though it has been around for a while, it continues to remain fresh. Whether youre dining, drinking or having an event there, its going to be great. Have held many celebrations at Royale (in their awesome & beautiful yard) and each one has been a success. The service, food, drinks, atmosphere, all of it, is excellent!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon for a friends birthday and was absolutely thrilled with the place. Its a little off from the main subways but not too far, and worth the walk, but its a small front and can be easy to miss. Drink selection is pretty good for cocktails and beers, but their burgers looked to die for! I wish I had got one, but just gives me another reason to come back. There is both indoor and outdoor (covered and uncovered) seating avaliable, albeit not a ton. Staff was very friendly and accommodating for everyone. The place also does have a few TVs inside in case you want to try and catch a game while youre hanging out.

So such nice places but the service was poorly, i was about to walk out. The waiting to be served out of this world.
