Smashburger

I mainly wanted to give a big shout out to the incredibly friendly and effective crew at the Lexington Avenue/62nd St. Smashburger that i encountered this afternoon. Everything was a well-oiled machine and the line manager was constantly checking in on orders and wishing everyone a happy holiday. The space was clean, orders were handled expertly and everyone was on it for each order. Honestly the best experience Ive has at a fast food establishment. Big shout out to the whole team!

While the seating is limited to the second level upstairs the food is great as I have come to expect as at the other locations throughout the city. At this location there seems to be special offers for students and kids.

My daughter loves Smashburger. I was in the area and decided to give it a try. I visited in April 2023. The staff was welcoming and took her time to explain the popular menu items to us. I decided to get the classic smash burger with the smashed tater tots. My aunt also got the classic smash burger with everything on it with smash fries. Let me tell you we were not impressed. I was pleased the staff cooked my burger well done as I requested however it was lacking seasoning. I absolutely love tater tots but I was completed disappointed with the taste of the smash tots. It had a weird after taste and they seemed like they were overcooked. My aunt also thought her burger lacked flavor seasoning and didn’t like her smashed fries. She didn’t even eat them. It’s as if the fries were soaked in oil. The buns however were really soft. I may give the restaurant another chance I just won’t get the smashed tater tots. We also didn’t receive our orders together. My food came first and it took about an additional 10 minutes for my aunt to receive hers. There is seating outdoors as well as seating upstairs. There is also a full bar available. You can also refill your drink upstairs. There is also an elevator at this location to get upstairs. The restrooms were also really clean. The store is available via public transportation.

I came one afternoon for lunch with some friends for a Yelp event. I got the double classic burger, smashfries, and Oreo milkshake. The place was bigger than I expected being on 2 levels which was fun. There werent a ton of people there so seating was pretty easy to find and the staff was friendly. The milkshake was good but a little difficult to drink with the chunks of Oreo throughout it with a small straw. The smash fries were good but reallyyyyy greasy. Ive had them before at another location and they werent this greasy. The burger was also good just not very hot when we got it which I was surprised by. Overall I enjoyed it and would come back!

This place like a lot of other surroundings is ridiculous. Dirty tables , dirty floors. Rude staff. Food tastes good but quite little for its price. The waiting time for a simple burger was over one hour and the place was empty , honestly I didn’t leave only because they make you pay on front and then they let you in and sit and make you wait until they have a lot of orders due to the sitting arrangements are upstairs and they cook downstairs so they wait to have more people to deliver your food what also makes the food gets cold death to you. Extremely frustrating experience. They are so rude and ridiculous that they add the bathroom code at the bottom of the receipt. THE BATHROOM IS NOT EVEN CLEAN. nothing here was clean. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

There was a long wait but well worth it. The burger is seasoned so you dont need any salt. The fries absolutely delicious and the shake OMG, I loved it.

Fast food at high price. My burger wasn’t smashed and Burger King is better. Packed house so it’s maybe 🤔 me. Cranky counter guy. Dirty place. Also violations.

My experience might not be representative. All their entrees can be made vegetarian with a black bean burger. I had the Colorado. First off, they dont have a separate grill or clean up the cooking area for vegetarian dishes, so there is definitely some cross contamination of meat from what had been cooked before. I requested them to do mine in a separate area, and while they tried to accommodate, it was just not possible since they have to deal with a lot of orders at the same time. They used the same spatulas to flip the burgers and to scrape the grill. That might have ruined my appetite quite a bit. I went around 1230pm and it took me nearly 20 mins to get my order ready.Now the food itself - my order was missing the lettuce and quite possibly the cheddar cheese as well. Taste wise it was ok. The bun was the best part. Ive definitely had better black bean burgers - felt like even morningstar would be better. So its unlikely I will go again unless they can better accommodate vegetarian orders with separate spatulas etc.

Slowest burger on the planet. Took over 15 min for me to walk out with my take out order. Came for lunch, felt like I walked out at dinner time. You’re better off ordering online 30 min ahead and hoping it’s ready when you get there.Over-salted every timeWay too overpriced for the experience

The place was clean! The staff was amazing and the food www great. This was my first time ever having Smash Burger and it definitely SMASHED!

The burger was quiet good(but bun too solid), the smash fries were perfect, service personal was friendly, restaurant could be cleaner, air condition was too cold.

These hamburgers are very high in quality, juicy meat, crunchy bacon, fresh vegetables, and the fries are really unique with that touch of garlic.Totally recommend.

I always get a veggie smash with mushrooms, avocado smash red onions raw. Tater tots and Brussels sprouts. I love that they have veggies option.

I love burgers of all kinds -5 guys , shake shack , wendy’s even beats this place . The old burger heaven was my standard and this place doesn’t hold a candle to it-So greasy it hardly felt like food -Do not recommend

Good space. Went at Tuesday 1:30pm, no crowds and got food ten mins after ordering. Placed order at counter, chose to eat in, and went upstairs and placed tag on table. There was bar but unstaffed at time. Clean, bathroom and delicious all American double patty buger

I enjoyed my meal at Smashburger, the staff was helpful and patient, they brought our food upstairs after we ordered and found seating upstairs. Neat, clean and plugs to charge our phones which we really needed....

Lovely staff, the ac is perfect, and the burgers are fire. Great pit stop with relatives visiting on the way to the park. Also the agua frescas are a must try.

Moses was incredible in the front. He took the order, helped guide me with my selections and was soooo attentive and friendly. I mean i dont even come here alot but now i will come all the time. Went to order dinner. 2 other patrons behind me got served before I was. Waiting more than 40 minutes. Before being called. My food was almost burnt has it was left in the deep fryer way too long. Ive gone to other fast foods places and I got better service and served promptly. Observed staff talking to each other than attending to service for customers. Thans way I rated the way I have.

They dicide to have bar area then they need to manage better. Only 1 person in charge of one bar / sit down area to cover efficiency is not there. Therefore. Service is slow, luck of napkins everywhere, cant order sooner, one order can be forever!!The hamburger was great though. It was unfortunate to experience as first time.

The best smash burger in town. Customer service was great, the environment was comfy and the food was fantastic. The burger and sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection - everything tasted fresh. They also bring the food to your table which is refreshing after walking and standing the entire day. I highly recommend, would return to this location. Tip to management, maybe clean the tables upstairs more often but overall you guys are doing a great job. Quality food & very satisfied.

I was looking for an affordable place to sit and have a beer in between meetings. Alot of places near central park can be unreasonably expensive. This location had a nice seating area upstairs and I was able to have my burger and beer in peace on a monday evening while watching the game. The burger was good but kind of greasy. Service was a bit slow, but I appreciated the price and location.

Well let me say this. You enter and you receive smiles and a hello.You order to stay.They are so kind that they climb the stairs to hand deliver your great food directly to you.That is stupendous in my eyes.The staff behave in a professional and respectful manner. Really enjoyed heading to this Smashburger for a burger, tots, and a milkshake! the burger spot is two floors—ordering is downstairs and seating + a full-service bar is upstairs. if you dine-in, they bring your food to you. ordered a double smoked bacon brisket burger, tater tots, and a non-dairy Oreo milkshake! MAN, that was a lot of FOOD (but i am not complaining)! the burger was super meaty and flavorful—brisket topped with cheddar, a generous amount of bacon, bbq sauce, and pickles in a brioche bun. the tater tots are nice and crispy with a soft potato inside. overall, the burger is nice and filling but it is on the saltier but it works bc combination of the different flavors. can’t go wrong with the tater tots slathered in Heinz. wanted to see what a non-dairy milkshake was like and the Oreo one was pretty good…not as thick and creamy as traditional one but all good nonetheless PLUS the shake had actual chunks of OREO! sat upstairs and enjoyed my food at the bar. the location is super clean and well-maintained. service was friendly and accommodating.

Great burger. Too bad I had to wait 30 minutes for it. Didnt help that the person taking the order misheard fountain drink for milkshake. Really? 🤦‍♂️

Today I encountered excellent service. Absolutely friendly atmosphere, no desire to run away. The cashier girl and other incredibly professional workers. Always smiling, always ready to help with the choice. Not shy to go beyond the limits and clarify, discuss the order and offer the dish of the day. Excellent workers, so cheerful. It is obvious that they are proud of their work. Bravo!

Better than most not as good as some, definitely better than all the major Burger chains. pricey at $11 for a double cheeseburger…

1 star is 5 too many. Horrible customer service. Waited 22 min for cold onion rings. Staff could not have cared less. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED $$ AT THE LEXINGTON AND E 62 location in NYC. Burger was luke warm after waiting 5 min on counter waiting for onion rings. Manager thinks it is perfectly acceptable for staff to use the F word multiple times and when communicating with customers. This whole crew needs to go. Smashburger corporate...where are you? This new location will fail without some major attitude adjustment.

The best burgers/fries/shakes in New York City period. The people here are super amazing and friendly and they will cook you up something that even Gordon Ramsay can’t. Special shout out to Uncle Moises - the best uncle ever :)

Service was really great, very welcoming. The lady that was in charge today is absolutely on point. Really clean place. Food is a bit expensive but it’s def filling. French fries portions looked a bit small though. Staff is 5/5 but food is 4/5 tbh.

Everyone has been talking about these burgers & how amazing they are. Finally gave in, and I was actually dissatisfied & disappointed. This is what happens when ppl over sale things. The location or space was very clean & I got the concept of dine in and the bar. But there was nothing special about the food. Sadly, it is just another burguer joint. P.s. Our chicken tenders were cold & the truffle mayo is perhaps the worst Ive had.

Rude people taking orders and even worse serving/delivering eat in orders. Despite having the corresponding numbers on the table stands and receipts used for delivering food they could not get anything right and were outright rude. After getting the food, there was a full sheet of paper on 2 of 3 burgers, thats inexcusable. Used to like smash burger, now I know why so many have closed.

The food was OK. The team is unorganized and not welcoming.I did find a surprise $1 tip not added by me on the beer I had. I do not support self-tipping - at least have the decency and ask - and given that I had no service around it, 10% to open a bottle is greedy.If there would have been service,maybe.The TVs were on and their sound echoed multiple times making it impossible to understand a word that was spoken on it. Music was playing from other speakers. Not a location I want to hang out long. It actually was stressful to eat there because of the noise. Likely another reason the food was just mediocre to me.I cant recommend this location.

They should get kiosks so you don’t have to deal with the employees

Having an outing with my daughter. I understand this is a chain restaurant and the area can sometimes get busy, this wasn’t one of those days. My order was wrong multiple times, I felt horrible constantly asking for the correct items. For all the food being cooked (seems they’re just firing anything on the grill and fry baskets), my fries came cold. I asked for BBQ sauce, I got ranch. I also asked for three piece chicken tender, I got five (I don’t have the appetite for five and now this food will go to waste which I don’t like). Everyone was just walking around with baskets and asking who had what. I thought the checks (receipts) had the numbers we were given when ordering.It seems there’s a lack of order.But my clerk was so nice, smiled and made me feel welcomed the second I walked in. I truly appreciated her reciprocation of positivity.

Ive eaten here twice. I didnt try the burgers however the grilled chicken was pretty good - I asked them for no mayo. I ordered regular fries and sweet potato fries as well as brussel sprouts. All great! Very happy with the quick and friendly service and they did a great job on the design of the place.

Everyone at this location is amazing! The food is always fresh, restaurant is always clean and the staff are amazing! I always come here for lunch and never have a bad experience

The smash burger was great, the large fries were half empty, maybe 20 chips total not even a serving for one person and Uber eats dont care so no remedy for customer. Maybe eating in is better.

The service sucks @ this establishment. Which is quite surprising, my last visits to other locations such as: I think it was near Bryant Park & 86th street. These other locals give better service & food PERIOD, hands down.Just my opinion sorry not sorry.

Liam is great, and always helps me with my order. Unfortunately the online seamless ordering system doesn’t allow me to substitute a veggie patty instead of beef, but Liam always helps fix it in the store.

It was better than I expected. I tried a Classic with no pickles and ketchup. It was tasty. I will go back to try other things.

Delicious burger, prompt & friendly service!

Placed a $100+ order on their website. They pushed our delivery window 3 times (restaurants get busy, totally understandable), then updated their online delivery tracker to delivered more than an hour after we placed the order, but NO FOOD WAS EVER DELIVERED. We have now called the restaurant 9 times, and each time the phone rings for ~30 seconds before going to voicemail. This is New York; you have to know and operate within thr market, and this unprofessionalism is far from market standard. Have submitted a formal complaint on their website, and will update here with how this is resolved, including if it isnt. Until then (and possibly thereafter), buyer beware.

I bought the plant base burger it was super salty and it cooked using the same utensils as the beef it was place right beside the beef burger and I didnt like that at lease separate part on the flat top they need to be mined of vegetarians when preparing food and offering plant base items.

I would give it 0 stars actually the manager Leon told us that our $50 bill was fake and made a big scene about it with attitude , meanwhile the cashier was telling her other colleague that the pen they use to mark bigger bills wasnt working..... so make it make sense. The problem was the attitude of the manager and the lack of common sense . Decided to not give out service to them

I Ordered the BBQ bacon Cheddar grilled sandwich and it comes with onion rings but when I got the sandwich there was no onion rings and the fries that I ordered was drenched in olive oil! Yeah Im not going to order from them again

The manager was great at this location. He was very helpful and you notice he had everything running smoothly. The food was fresh and tasty. The restaurant was clean and orderly.

The staff is very nice and friendly and hard working, but the food simply takes way too long... if youre prepared for very slow fast food, you wont be disappointed.

Ask for a burger no cheese only ketchup. Very simple order. Got no cheese but had lettuce ,sauce, tomato and pickles. My Dr pepper was watered down,had no ice. Side of tater tots(pictured) was depressing to see. I ordered the largest fries(pictured), it didnt seem like many. Not worth the price $$$. Burger was good though.

Highly anticipated, Ive been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally got to.Enjoyed the burgers it was decent, only thing I think its a little bit overpriced especially because it doesnt come with fries.

Excellent breakfast sandwich (served all day!) With tater tots. It was all great and the egg was perfectly cooked. Free soda fountain refills. Clean and attractive with upstairs seating that also has a full bar with beer on tap. Will definitely return.

Its like a restaurant after devastation. No mayonnaise, no bacon, no cheese, the bathroom 🤢. It doesnt matter if its 11 am or 9 pm, the place should look immaculate.Saturday December 2 8pm

Excellent fresh burger!

Smash burger remains fixed as the kind of the fast food burger chain. I get the limited time bbq bacon brisket and its bomb every time.

I get my lunch at Smashburger sometimes when I work from the NYC office. Food is pretty good and service is quick. I like Smashburgers French fries. Would recommend and giving them five out of five stars.

I had an incredible experience at Smashburger, and I must give a special shoutout to Moses, the cashier. From the moment I walked in, Moses greeted me with a warm smile and an enthusiastic welcome. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations that suited my taste perfectly.Mosess professionalism and friendliness made the ordering process seamless and enjoyable. His positive attitude and attention to detail truly enhanced my dining experience. The food, as always, was delicious – perfectly cooked burgers with fresh ingredients, and the sides were just as delightful.

This was only my second time having smashburger and my first having it at this location I have to say it was disappointing I remember it being much much better but my burger was cold and I remember it being fried crispy around the edges the last time it was not fried as well this time and I didnt like it as much

Looking for great non alcoholic drinks when uptown stop into Smashburger. They were great and refillable. I mixed a black tea with the mandarin drink. Then refill was black tea with the lemon mux to continue my walk around that area. Really good.

Good food, the burger is filling and the fries are good if a bit crunchy. Very nice atmosphere, today was busy while I was there. We didnt end up receiving two of the sides we ordered but I assume thats the danger of the way the food is delivered. You make your order at the front, take a number and walk to your seating...which is a flight of stairs above you. The waiter(tresse)s have to then climb that flight all the way up look for your number and then walk all the way back down. Cute idea but in practice not that practical. Kudos to your employees and I hope they have your fit bits ready! I did end of getting a refund which was done politely and quickly. Overall good experience but if you wish for faster service and hotter food, order for takeout and bring it up with you!

I visited this location for lunch on the afternoon of 09/26/2023 at about (3-4pm). I was looking forward to relaxing here and enjoying a meal. I frequent this location and I’ve never been treated poorly, until today. I went upstairs to sit at one of the booths by the bar area. I made my way over to the condiment section where I planned to make myself a side of ketchup when a large African American woman who seemed to be the bar attendant rudely approaches me and says “you can just take one of these, I just made them” As she motions towards some unidentifiable ketchup sitting in condiment containers. I appreciated that gesture and kindly let her know “thank you but I’ll make my own. I prefer it fresh out of the bottle.” She responds “I literally just made them.” I respectfully declined and continued to make my own as originally intended. Anyway, I tried to forget that and went on about my meal. As I finished my food and exited my seat, she yells across the room at me and says “You can take your tray downstairs!” I removed my EarPods and respond with “excuse me?” She yells again and says that I need to take my tray downstairs and that I could not leave it there on that table or upstairs. Shocked by her response, I picked my tray up and walked away to ask one of the attendants downstairs what to do. I’ve never had this negative experience at a smash burger and I’ve been patronizing them for years. This is a poor reflection of customer service and frankly unacceptable. This bar attendant who was working the afternoon of 09/26/23 (between 3-4 pm) was unnecessarily rude and needs to be educated in the area of customer interactions/service. You do not speak to, nor treat customers this way. Especially ones who frequent your establishment. The girls downstairs are typically lovely, kind and attentive. Perhaps this bar attendant should shadow the other girls to gain on site experience on how to properly treat customers.

Good food and service nothing to complain about

Quiet nice with the 2nd floor seating. Too bad theres no one tending the bar. The mushroom with swiss is a bit on the salty side, but tasty overall.

Double Smash burger with Bacon and Avocado was good but not great especially since it was dry rather than juicy. Dragon fruit drink was delicious

Got the burger and a drink. The drink was more than the burger so I’d recommend not getting drinks here and just doing food. Otherwise was really good!

First time trying it - burger was impressive. Had the double bacon (don’t bother with single poor value). It was fresh and tasty. Skip the special smash sauce it’s mustard based. Tots looked good I regretted not ordering one. Overall shake shack a few blocks away still beats it handily (more juicy, greasy and more efficient despite being far more crowded) but it’s close. It wasn’t that crowded on a weekday at noon - burger took about 7 mins which was fine (not sure why all the complaints about long wait times).

My favorite are the shoestring fries and the burger’s definitely hit the spot. This location is a bit unique in that the first floor are the registers and on the second level you have a full bar and seating. It’s a fairly new location but it’s already looking rundown.

This is an overall rating for the business. The burger itself is truly top rated - absolutely delicious and they do a great job making it The wings and fries were also very tasty. However they can be slow and some of the staff are stellar but others clearly don’t want to be there. But if you’re looking for a good burger - you can’t go wrong! Pro-tip: Check your order before you leave! (If you’re doing takeout).

I really enjoy the food at smashburger. This location is a little bit special from the other ones I have been to... they have a bartender and a fully stocked bar on the mezzanine (seating) level!Pro tip: Go straight upstairs and order your food from the bartender by-passing the queue!Service is always slow here - lots of delivery services, making your order join a long queue. So, dont come here unless you have a full lunch HOUR.

Great local place. It was cold out and walked back to my apartment, 3 blocks. The food was still fresh and warm. The staff is also very friendly. The tater were awesome.

Only half of the order arrived. Food is blah. When you call the restaurant no one picks up. I called like 12 times. Do yourself a favor and order from another restaurant. Lots of others out there that wont get your order wrong and taste much better.

I sent the below review to Smashburger through their website on 7/27/23:I attended Smashburger for the first time on 7/20/23. I explained to multiple employees that I have Celiac Disease and follow a strict gluten free diet. The cashier was extremely rude and unhelpful. Her name was Raenell. She then had me speak to a woman in the back who assured me that I could eat the black bean burger. I asked multiple questions confirming that it was in fact gluten free.Eating gluten can put me into a hospital. Luckily this time I was only extremely ill and did not have to go to the emergency room. The staff was unhelpful and their mistake has done permanent damage to my intestines. I want my money back and hope you will inform your staff how to properly handle allergies.After sending the above email, I received a call from Clark Earthman, the Director of Operations Tri-State NYC on 7/28/23. Initially he seemed like we would be extremely helpful, he told me he had a relative with Celiac and that he completely understood. He said he would speak to the staff and provide me with a refund and e-vouchers. After this conversation, I never heard back from him. I texted him following up on 8/8/23 and 8/15/23. When I eventually heard back I had to remind him of the issues and he told me again that he would send vouchers and asked me to text him my CC info to get a refund. I said I wasnt comfortable sharing that information over text and asked to be reimbursed by check. He then told me to email my CC number which again I was not comfortable doing. After that I got an email from him on 8/30/23, as if we had never spoken prior. He once again said he would send me vouchers.I never received any form of voucher, reimbursement, or guarantee that the staff would be properly trained on allergies. I follow a gluten free diet due to Celiac Disease. Eating gluten when having Celiac can cause long term effects including forms of cancer, diabetes. arthritis, damaged intestines, joint pain, and more. The staff was extremely unprofessional and gave no indication that they would handle allergies better. I would not recommend anyone that has an allergy to eat at Smashburger. It is clear the staff does not take allergies seriously and does not want to make this right.

It was my first time at Smashburger, and we were sitting outside.. they gave us perfect service! They didnt forget to wave their hands from inside when we were leaving ❤️

Burgers are so fresh theyre made to order!! I havent had a burger that fresh and tasty in a very long time over a year and you can see the food being cooked and prepared!!

Fast, friendly and delicious

Just nasty people to deal with. Called at 9:25 to order a takeout. The person on the phone started arguing with me that he won’t take an order after 9:30. Told him it’s only 9:25 He proceeded to argue with me for another few minutes without taking the orders until 9.28. At that time asked for the manager who supposedly picked up the phone and repeated the same. Anyway, waste of time . For a new business they should learn how to cater to customers instead of turning them away. Wont order again and don’t recommend.

The burgers are worth the $10. Would definitely recommend trying it!

It was great, I went to the smashburger downtown Lexington area, good customer service and timely. And food was great and atmosphere was too , I will definitely be returning to eat more.

First time having Smash Burger. The cashier was really cool. And the Colorado burger was bangin. Really good food.

Good food, but you CANNOT eat this stuff daily. You will die. They drench the fries in olive oil. Like DRENCH them. You feel like youre just guzzling oil with a few bits of French fries in it.The service was meh. Not bad, but also not good. I felt like waited waaaay longer than I was supposed to. Shake shack would have had my food in less than half the time I waited at smashburger.They are also waaaay too expensive for my tastes. I definitely prefer shake shack over smash. It wont be my first choice to go there again.

Ordered wings. Wings came without any sauce and missing the dipping sauce. Also came in fry cardboard, left grease all over my kitchen. Not worth it. I’m disappointed as their burger quality used to be really good.
