Torch & Crown Brewing Union Square

We stopped on our walk Times Square because the atmosphere of this brewery is spectacular. I tried Bat Flip because it included gummy bear in the description. Soooo refreshing, sweet, and sessionable. My partner got Almost Famous: he claims its juicy, flavorful, and enjoyable. Wish we had more time in NYC so we could spend more time here. One of the first places weve stopped that has space and doesnt smell like piss. 😉😍

Many different businesses have been at this site, but always a great spot. Its amazing to think this area was so run down until the last few decades until B&N moved in and the Coffee Shop days. Definitely a testament to how far the city and this area has come!

We had a wonderful work event at Torch and Crown! The layout and location was perfect, the food delicious and beers hit the spot. Extra thanks to Jeff, Wayne, and the helpful staff for taking such great care of us too!

Touch & Crown, for me, has filled a long-vacant niche as my go-to neighborhood bar in Union Square- its a genuine, homey spot that offers an excellent atmosphere to either work in the afternoon, chill and have drinks - it’s MORE than a beer Garden- full bar.I have to give credit to Carlos and Freddy, who are noticeably striving to create something special. Its apparent theyre investing effort and heart into this place. USQ can be a bit cheesy, but theyve managed to strike a great balance between an exciting venue and a place that feels just like your friendly neighborhood hangout.In essence, Touch & Crown has a genuine neighborhood vibe that has been missing for quite some time. Its been a pleasure to see it develop and Im keen to watch its future unfold. A solid spot for a drink in the neighborhood. They serve small nibbles now but hopefully will expand to a bigger menu.

First time here and had the most wonderful experience. Plenty of seats in a low key atmosphere. Food was great— loved the pretzel with mustard. Special shoutout to Wayne and Lance for the hospitality. They made me and my friend feel like regulars even though it was our first time. Will be back… probably next week! :)

The food rating is for the beer, Google should really add star ratings for beer, wine and cocktails to these reviews.Anyways great place and glad its reopened for the season.

What a perfect location for the second installation of torch and crown. A bit of a limited menu but the food we had was delicious. All the beers you love as well as cocktails and wine. The market can be exhausting and it’s nice to be able to take a beer break. Dog friendly as well.

If you’re looking for a great juicy IPA, look no further. Yum. Period. Nice atmosphere.

On a hot summer day a cold drink from a beer garden is called for. This place is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day.

My husband and I hosted a pre-pre-wedding event so that our families (13-people total) could meet for the first time and everything went great!The manager who I worked with leading up to the event was patient in answering my MANY questions, the bartenders and servers were very friendly (extra special shoutout to Oscar), and the food was next level considering this is a brewery?! My family is still raving over the calamari which was so fresh and crispy....We also order burgers, flat bread, caesar salad and sshishito peppers, which were a hit.Def recommend this place for events or just a casual place you can count on for a good time with friends.

One of the best locations in the city, however, the placement of a very scary looking security guard before you enter will turn off most passers by and tourists

Union square location was very fun. Nice summer beer garden. Finger foods and corn hole tossing. Who wouldn’t love it.

Torch & Crown has been in this covered outdoor Union Square space since the spring of 2023. Torch & Crown itself boasts great beers as Manhattans largest brewery. The bar is also convenient because it has beer, wines, cocktails (full bar), and mocktail options - everyone wins. In 2024 they are also introducing a pretty full food menu with the kitchen and head chef. Its open here for the spring and summer, and very worth a trip out for an afternoon to relax with friends.

Check this level of crazy out. I order a beer, which on the menu is listed as a pint. The bartender gives me a plastic cup that is clearly smaller than a pint. A guy at the other end of the bar has a beer in a larger plastic cup. I ask the bar tender why my cup is smaller than his. She proceeds to tell me that since my IPA is higher ABV, I get less than his. I tell her that the menu says it’s a pint and that I want a pint. She then has a conference with a manager for I’d say 30 or more seconds who then approves that she can pour me 2 more ounces in a very tiny cup and then puts it down next to my other cup. She tells me that they’re going to do it this time. The two drinks I ordered were $32 and they’re going to rip me off for two ounces of beer? Are you kidding?

Food was awful. Shriveled dry wings with watered down sauce.

The beer, food and service is great. Its very EXPENSIVE though, I get it. Its Union Square, its PRIDE, which means its a great time to take people to the cleaners, but there isnt much in the way of transparency. I took some 4 packs to go and I imagine they must be about double the price they are on the website.

I write this only as a warning to others that this was the worst espresso martini ever. Im not picky vodka kaluah and cold brew is fine but this was a mess vodka agave and cold brew with salt for some reason that tasted like the margarita that were rimed in it before the result is a sweet salty bitter citrus coffer flavor
