Bar Pleiades

This is a really great UES bar scene and it is not just for drinking cocktails. The full Cafe Boulud menu is available at the bar (plus the bar menu), so if you are dining alone this works well. The food at Cafe Boulud is of course excellent. The service is also excellent. They are happy to let you eat a la carte from the various menus. I have to say that I’m sorry to see the shrimp toast going away as they move their round the world menu to another cuisine; it was quite a moving experience. The foie gras torchon was excellent. Serving oysters with chimichurri is a unique and welcome spin on accompaniments. The scrambled eggs with truffles, a signature dish for Cafe Boulud, had a large amount of Australian truffles shaved on while you watch (that’s a good thing, not a bad, of course). The sliders from the bar menu were executed perfectly and had all the salt, acid, and fat to make them darn near perfect. In any case they are worth having. The duck breast was also executed exactly correct and the braised fennel was extremely, how shall we say, precise in terms of consistency, texture, and flavor (again, that’s a good thing not a bad). The desserts had really interesting seasoning and flavors, often enhanced by herbs. Overall I had a really nice meal and evening.

Great rotating drinks menu - theres the classics made well but theres always something new to discover and their special drinks have all had nice flavor profiles. Really fun art deco decor, swanky dimly lit ambience with cozy tables. Best for small groups unless you reserve the cool booth alcove in advance. Great date location. Good service. And theres usually not a wait.

Very swanky atmosphere. Well appointed decor. Staff knows their business as they are friendly and effiecient. Server with French accent was magnetic. Mini gratis snack offering was nice. Would be five stars but my bourbon glass was spotty.

This bar is so so nice and it was alot of fun. I went with my meetup group and they let me make a reservation in the bar area-I had to give my credit card but it was so nice to have a reservation. We stayed for 3 hours because it was a great atmosphere. There was a jazz performer and we ordered drinks and food. The drinks are pricey but you can weed out what you can afford-I ordered a $15 house tequila and seltzer. The bar has nice decor and its dark and swanky. Im definitely going back!!

One of the most beautiful rooms in all of New York, intimate and stylish, I have brought family, friends, and dates to enjoy their wonderfully original cocktails and very satisfying bar snacks. The staff is very friendly and helpful, from the bartenders to the bar manager. A New York must.

When you walk in it is amazing they bring you a trivet of snacks the moment you sit down. This comes to you from the back of the bar and the menu comes to you from the front of the bar and a glass of waterWait and wait for someone to actually take your order but you never get your trivet of snacks refilled you feel like a king when you walk in with the service and then like a has been as you leave because theyve no longer pay you any attention

Great spot, the drinks are balanced and well made. The servers are on it. Theyll make you feel welcome and bar pleiades makes it easy to sit and have a nice conversation. Its not to loud, not to quiet. You still have youre own space and can still socialize with others at the bar.

Above and beyond any bar that I have every walked into for a drink. The service was very cordial and prompt. It was by chance that we went to Bar Pleiades; however the next time I am in Manhattan I will go out of my way to go to this bar.

We came in for few drinks, staff was so rude to my sister because i guess how simple she was dressed. We got up and left without ordering. Spent our money elsewhere.

Swanky and elegant, lux locale for a drink/1st date. Well crafted and delicious drinks. Mostly attentive service staff.

Went utilizing the Travelzoo voucher and it was slightly underwhelming. The food did not natch what we were supposed to get, but it seemed ckear the staff doesnt care for these vouchers and just want you in and out. I did find the manager to be very polite, professional and just awesome. The cocktails were good...food was plain and a big miss, especially since we didnt get all that we were supposed to.

Elegant. The perfect old fashioned. The best risotto I have ever had, probably will ever have. A magical experience.

Cute, quaint, after work classy. The restaurant is amazing. I ordered the lamb...beautiful medium lamb, with flavors I crave to have again very soon. The service was great, as they were very attentive, try the seating at the bar or comfy seats in front of the bar. The best seats are the booths...enjoy!

Absolutely incredible food/drinks with impeccable service. Had an amazing time with Will and Daryle at the bar. Best choice we could have made for celebrating our anniversary.

Very dark, but fancy atmosphere. The music was loud, which made casual conversation over large tables a little tough, but not a real deal breaker.Coctails were all very sweet.Good happy hour options.

Friends recommended this bar in an elegant hotel. Place is beautiful but save yourself the trip. Staff is incredibly rude. I sat for coffee and cake but we were told this was not enough to continue sitting.this is not how a place of standard should behave.if l could get 0 star l would.

Beautiful bar with great small plates to eat. The serve olives, nuts, and chips on the table as well. The service is fantastic and the pours are generous. Great meeting or date spot. Highly recommend.

I love this bar. You can get here all the menu from the sister Cafe Boulud, without the need of getting an advanced reservation. Ambience is pretty elegant and drinks very well prepared and tasty. It is always a good option for a date with your significant other.

Place is not great at all, besides the fact thats on a really nice area. Service doesnt match what you pay for and thats a downer for me. Sure there is a lot better places around here. Never this one again!

Came in to grab a bite and a drink at the bar while I waited to catch up with someone later. The guy that greeted me pointed at the empty bar seat and said the seat was on hold for someone else. Since when do you reserve bar seats?.

The Bar Pleiades located at 20 East 76th Street is in the Surrey Hotel, and i am under the assumption it is the hotels bar.I have been here on several occasions when i was awaiting for my table to be ready at Nougatine.As me and my guests were escorted into the bar, the staff welcomed us.Very pleasant staff and serves with a smile all the time.

I felt the bartender that was working yesterday was quite tudey. One thing in particular that was poor service was that everyone that was sitting at the bar was given some nuts/olives and i was not offered them or given them. I ordered two teas and was sitting at the bar for over an hour. To me, overall the service was mediocre and the bartenders didnt even smile.
