Been meaning to check this place out for quite sometime, came in around 5pm on a Thursday and able to get seats very quickly. Not immediately greeted by bartender or any other staff as they were chit chatting but eventually they took our order and made us some very tasty cocktails (I had 2 Blue Hawaiians $18 each). Also ordered the fried oreos ($9) which were just ok- I have had better. I would give this place another go and try some other menu items.
Always a fun time! Food is a great deal (the bean/cheese burrito is perfect) and bartenders have always been friendly. Cocktails can be pricey but the quality is great.
A slight edit after my initial review: I definitely felt a little ill after my drink. The egg white on my whiskey sour smelled a little like dog farts despite the ango on top, and I feel like that did me in. Maybe its all in my head. I wanted to love the place. The drink set me back $11, and the vibe is pretty sweet. Its like stepping in a time machine. But I think I got a dud egg white and Im not sure how to feel. There are a ton of amazing cocktail bars in the East Village, and unfortunately I dont think this is one of them.
Strong drinks that aren’t absurdly priced, with a great selection. crowds always moving so seating will come eventually. the food was pretty bomb the chips are made to order it seems which is insane, love that, though the dip didn’t taste like anything. burritos were great. love the style of the drinks though the most it’s def a must visit. making st marks bumping again.
One of the best cocktails I had in NYC.Went with my wife on a Saturday night by recommendation from a bartender we met at Swift (London). We had 5 cocktails in total and the originals from the bar are amazing! Great combination of flavours (and balanced) with a funny presentation. Loved the wake up call.Atmosphere is way more relaxed and informal than other top bars in NYC. Worth a try!
Why do other bars even exist? Honestly, the crew is outstanding, their iconic cocktails are amazing and the atmosphere couldn’t be any better
This is where they shot the bar scene from Past Lives. But they changed out all the lighting and scenery for the movie. That’s the only reason I came here, but then I realized it’s also an historical dive bar where Allen Ginsburg used to frequent(?!). Love the vibes, drinks were fun.
My wife and I hung out there back in April and it was a blast. Bartender was super generous. Going back as soon as we can.
Really great bar. Cozy throwback atmosphere.Only drawback is a strong smell of mold(?)Would go again
Love the vibe in here, dive bar meets retro cocktail lounge with a zest of tiki. Appreciated the dinosaur topping on my cocktail 🦕
I went with a girlfriend for an early evening drinky, and the place was uncrowded so we chose a seat in a corner booth and then ordered two delicious drinks at the bar. They were innovative, refreshing and strong! The presentation was also very creative! We only ordered one cocktail each, but they got us to a different level, haha. I would want to go back in the evenings when the place seemingly gets more packed with people! We had a great experience overall!
Classic dive meets cocktail bar ; lots of space ; cool cocktails
The host and the bartender was awesome. Great vibe! Drinks....... yesssssss. Only had the fries but that was good!
Vibey bar with reasonably priced drinks. Only tried one (with pandan) and it was decent. Nice and quiet.
Drinks were some of the best ive had in the city. worth the hype times three
Grungy dive bar vibes with great service. Has an outdoor patio in the back. The photo attached has an espresso martini, Negroni, fried pickles (ranch was really good), smores nachos.
Found this place while waiting for a long while to get into another restaurant. Couldnt be happier to find it. Great beer selection, great cocktails, friendly service and GREAT music as soon as we walked in. Laid back atmosphere with Neil Young or Bob Dylan playing in the background.
Incredible and quiet fun. The bartender is beautiful, the bar is comforting, the drinks are Great and the atmosphere is a quiet storm of fun and good times. One of the BEST BARS you can enjoy in the city
Holiday has been all my friends favorite for years now. Best drinks, best music, sooo chill, and I swear every time I go its a guaranteed good time.Weve always loved it for a night out but over the last few months Ive thrown some of the MOST fun parties there. The team lets you reserve a section of the bar and create custom cocktail menus. Ive thrown both a viewing party and an engagement party here and they accommodated both so incredibly. They even have a huge projector if needed! This place has a such a fun but grounded energy, my group of twenty somethings to our parents had an awesome time.Barbara and the team couldnt have been more awesome to work with. All the bartenders are talented and super kind. Thanks again guys!
Great place to have 8 beers and philosophize with your buds
Only stopped in for a quick bevy on the way to brunch but the cocktails were delicious and need to go back soon.
Nice place, with good mix of classic cocktails and a few excellent house cocktails. Have a nice selection of beers and liquor, and I also noticed they have at least two brands of non alcoholic beers (not that i will ever need that)Warmer atmosphere after 10p, when servers stop working, and u got to go to the bar, and you get to talk to everyone at and in the bar.Didn’t have food, but the menu looked good.Good prices for the City (~$18 for cocktails)
Ordered a round of drinks, two beers, and a martini with a twist. The bartender forgot to make the martini and it required us coming back to the bar to ask for it. “Oh, sorry about that” he said. It was tiny and $18. Cute spot, martini was fine, but service was whack. And $18 for 3 lil sips is dumb but that’s NY isn’t it.
Had a great time here with the bf. The bar food is VERY GOOD. The east village sandwich has sauerkraut, kielbasa, and pickles and is basically a twist on a really excellent Cuban sandwich and Reuben. Drinks were great. And happy hour specials are a good deal. The atmosphere was super cute and the place was not too crowded.
This place is fine in a pinch, if youre in the area. They don’t have air conditioning which is a bummer during the summer. Drinks are above average and they keep their coupes/martini glasses on ice (glassware is kept cooler than the patrons) which is a nice touch. Music is pretty random and can swing from heavy metal to 60s rock, hip hop and back. Definitely not the best bar in the area and there are much better options around.
Very nice and clean bar. A waitress will come along to your table and ask for your order and she was very friendly! The menu is cool and the drinks are named after famous songs and artists. They were also playing some really good songs that everyone seemed to enjoy. Granted, we were there at 9pm on a Friday, it is extremely loud in there. I dont have the best hearing, but it was difficult for me to have a conversation with my wife.
Very loud but fun natured atmosphere. Not a relaxing spot, we had to yell, but our cocktails were pretty good and prices seemed normal to me, at least for Manhattan. Both times the bar was understaffed for the amount of patrons and kind of going out of their minds, but we got service at the bar without an issue or long wait. Its also a very small bar area, so theyre definitely doing the best they can.If you want super fancy cocktails in a relaxing atmosphere, not for you. Otherwise, worth a visit if youre having ramen or something nearby.
This place should be the first and last stop of your NYC visit. Thank you to Tyler for being truly the best host one can be and can only say that the Holiday Cocktail Lounge will forever be my first stop in NYC no matter what. The level of hospitality and kindness is truly amazing. Welcome to NYC.
My name is Mike and I endorse Holiday Cocktail Lounge. They dont have a burger, but they have great drinks and corn dog bites. Cheers.
I took the love of my life here for our first date, and have been back many times since. The bartenders are incredible, and the drinks are fantastic (delicious Old Fashioned). The staff was also incredibly helpful in helping me organize a surprise party for my fiance after I proposed. Easily one my favorite cocktail bars.
Been here a few times now, love the place. Great music, can get a lil packed but always a good time. Highly recommended! Some good NA options if you are into that kind of thing.
There used to be an amazing jukebox with hand made cards covered in white out and cut out paper edits. It was a big part of what I loved about the place. Its still a great bar.
Such a cool place with delicious Drinks and the Barkeeper Alex is really nice too
If I could give no stars I would, when I say the worst I mean WORST service I have ever received. Waited 20 min for a bartender to finally take my order and when I tried to order 4 drinks I was disregarded and told to come back later. Despite the fact that she had just wasted 10 minutes showing off her Instagram to another customer, my complicated request for their specialty menu overpriced cocktails was pushing the limit. The vibe here is gross, prehistoric, and misogynistic with a dash of gaslighting. I will make it my last dying effort to spread the word to never go to this disgrace of an establishment. The bouncer was nice…the star is for him❤️
Tons of history and a great NYC East Village drinking spot!
Cool decor. Went on a Sunday night and it was a good vibe. I loved my drink. They had a great drink menu and Ill definitely go back to try more cocktails.
The cocktails are delicious, but its the bartenders and music that bring this bar to life. Theres nothing people want more than to belt out their favorite nostalgic rock songs from the 80s, 90s, and early 00s with their friendly neighborhood bartender.
Google the history of this place if you don’t know it. Renovated from the scrappy funky amazing dive bar it used to be, but done well. The magic of the old bar is there and the service is good. The nostalgic wood paneling is intact, as well as the open tables and open room for crowds. Gone are the potent smells of the old haunt, but that’s ok. Some of us are just glad it’s still a bar, and still contains the soul of the old joint. Excellent location to jump to or from dinner, or eat some pub food there. A bastion of the old village, and yet a place to get cocktails for you or your date. If you haven’t been, google it and go. If you know it, it’s an old friend whenever you need it. Cheers.
5 out of 5 just for being saved from destruction. You need to see the old mural the saved from the Dance club it was in the 40s??. Great cocktails, good beer selection, the space is all in dark tones, which keeps it quiet, and very warm and inviting.Go, just to see a part of NY that was not destroyed.
Superb staff, superb drinks!I honestly dont know why you would miss this off your list!!
Great atmosphere, bartender made my Aviation perfectly. She also made my special request for an Appleton daiquiri very well even though shes never made it before.
Hidden gem in Manhattan: great cocktails and food!
Rustic bar with an nothing has changed here in the last 30 years feeling.
Nestled between karaoke lounges and ramen joints, is the unassuming Holiday Cocktail Lounge. The lounge has been open forever, in fact Leo Trotsky is rumored to have hung out here, but closed and reopened recently. The new space is a fairly indescribable mix of dive bar and speakeasy, the kind of place with a dozen types of handmade artisanal gin but Christmas lights as the main decor. Cocktails are excellent and the menu is big, but they’ll also make you something great based on your tastes. The fellow patrons here included a couple loudly proclaiming how much they spent on their pedigree Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix who was of course present, and a group of Boston bros hitting on some trashed locals. It might have just been bad luck, but it does seem to attract a strange mixed crowd.
A delightful and off-beat cocktail place that is steeped in an eclectic midcentury-modern-meets-Bmovie vibe. The drinks are excellent, and some include whimsical touches like a glow-in-the-dark bracelet and tiny plastic skateboard.
Good drinks and prices but absurdly loud.
A dive bar that has be revamped in a chill cocktail bar. Its lowkey from the outside as you wouldnt assume that its an operating bar. Good spot for small groups to start the night. Drinks are around the typical $13 mixology prices.
Bartender said he didnt have specific ingredients for a drink... just told me no. literally saw ingredients on the bar behind him. Drinks were good, but I shouldnt have to change my order because the bartender doesnt want to make a specific drink!
Great gaff
Cute, casual and with good cocktails.
Really slow service. One of the bar tenders looked stoned and the other was a very angry man. He literally screamed to one customer to f off out of his bar. Cool bar and good music. Turns out the angry man was the bar manager.
Cocktail lounges - particularly those erring on the side of the non-prohibition-speakeasy front - can be a bit pretentious. Holiday has the foreboding metal door, but thats where the shenanigans end. inside, its cozy, comfy, not too loud, and the staff prepares some of the tastiest and most creative cocktails ive had. in a neighbourhood fraught with more drinking options than most, be sure to give Holiday a try!
Fun bar, but me and all of my friends just want to ask, please, can you take the music volume from 11 to like a 9? Weve been there twice in last 2 weeks and left w a hoarse voice both times. Nobody is here to dance or listen to music, let us talk and enjoy drinks and friends!
Its was always fun to go on a saturday nite. They had a full crowd there. The old guy was a hoot. The jukebox was great, tons of great music on it. The decor reminded me of somebodys old basement from the 1940s. Youd always see some east village rocker hanging on there. Had so many great times from 1993 to 1998. Also intovthe early 2,000s. Where else can you get a Jack&Coke for $2.50 .Long live The Holiday. Great picture of Keith Richards & Spacely hangin out at the bar that hung on the wall behind the bar.
Yeah, this one really isnt the fault of the place but kind of. It was sold to me as being low key divey. Which it was - except it was also expensive for what it is. I can buy a $6 can of beer at some place else where my shoes dont stick to the ground.
Nice bar if youre looking for a low-key night. Old music rather than top 40s and a general older crowd. Drinks were overpriced.
Great happy deals and the cocktails are awesome
Great cocktail bar. Low key, good music, unassuming, amazing drinks.
Slightly remodeled from the original look, but still looks the same to the untrained eye. Love stopping in here and now that I know its back in business under a new owner, I will be coming in here again more often.
Its a serious shame that this place is gone. It was a great place to get a cheap and potent drink and sit back with some friends. I loved the cranky old guy who ran the place, and he would run people out if they were being loud and obnoxious.
This bar has over priced drinks, rude bar staff, who are on a power trip. The music and venue are pretty cool. The staff bring the atmosphere down by just ignoring requests or even acknowledging a question, as simple as asking for a menu. AVOID!
Funky 70s lounge vibe with great cocktails and nice bartenders. Hilarious menu and though I didnt it experience it myself, looks like itd be a great dance party later on.
Their quirky cocktails are delicious and we almost missed our reservation because we ordered another. We went around 5 on a Thursday and it wasn’t busy. Service was great.
Possibly the greatest bar ever. Good drinks (real cocktail made properly), good people, and great music.
Excellent bar and of course espresso martini to power your through all night.Ambients and bar tenders are great.
Cool bartenders. Dive ish type of bar with good food and drinks. Cocktails menu very creative . Prices are around $14 for house cocktails. The vibe is very very low key. Young ish crowd
Four of us stoped in here right at opening and spent a couple of hours seated at the bar. We made a point to visit this place as a couple of people in our group are Bouncing souls fans.We had such a fun time hanging out, enjoying cocktails and chatting with the bartender Joe.I loved how relaxed and unpretentious this spot was. Fun atmosphere, great service (Thanks, Joe!) and excellent cocktails. Highly recommend.
Always the best time
Unassuming as you approach but once inside it’s a great place for casual drinks with a couple friends. Easy going atmosphere in a low key setting.
Went here with Jeff and Amanda after danas bdayGet the short Long Island. On thrillist for best cocktail under $10.
Divey, but in the right way. Bartenders are really friendly. Even the bouncers are friendly as heck, if you behave.
Great vibe with even better drinks!Awesome drunk snacks aswell
Nice cozy place. The drinks were awesome. I would definitely come back here.
This is a good bar open till late. The music was good when we entered and had a fun atmosphere.
Great place to not get a drink. Come here if youre sober and intend to stay that way.
Best spot for a drink or snack for anytime any occasion ! Great energy and vibe and delicious food / drinks.
Smashing Monkey 47 tonics in Happy hour...
My friend and I always go there when we want to catch up with a burger. Good burger, happy hour and cool place.
My fav bar in NYC. Been coming here since the late 70s.
Sort of a divey speakeasy with a fun bartender who makes great drinks. Food is definitely bar food, but those drinks....Mmmm
Excellent bar, immaculate vibes, terrific music
Used to love this place. Have been many times. The current bartenders are outrageously rude, for absolutely no reason. I let the long-haired mullet bartend know my friends won’t he coming back solely due to him. If the owners of the bar are reading these reviews, please remind your bartenders that you are a cocktail bar, and a service provider, and if they are unable to provide that service kindly, they should do something else for a living
Excellent drinks and superb bartenders!
Down and dirty local bar with fantastic cocktails.
A bit pricey but bartenders are friendly & bar snacks were tasty.
Once a classic dive, this completely redone space now has a swanky look, food & big-time drinks.
Back in the late 1970s and early 1980s this was my favorite bar in NYC. Many memorable stories!
Great music and lovely cocktails with dinosaurs
Low effort simulacra for self-reporting successfuls. Better dystopic conceptual art piece than bar. B- cocktails.
Pineapple was a knowledgeable and good conversation. Thank you.
Excellent service
20th century feels. I think theres food but I dont recall ever seeing anyone eat there.
Great dive bar. Excellent happy hour pricing.
The best bar in manhattan. Delicious cocktails, great music, best vibes.
Great vibe
One of my favorite places. Great cocktails, excellent service, delicious bites!!
Today was a beautiful day. Every restaurant on the block was packed at 5:40 pm except this place. Im guessing it was the bad energy from the bartender and every staff member who just looked miserable. I walked in looking great like a had money to spend with a beautiful girl, bartender keeps his back towards me like he didnt notice we walked in meanwhile, the place is empty. That really didnt bother me but the final straw was when another worker, who looked like he just woke up, yelled another Tuesday walking into the kitchen. Im thinking that guy is not cooking anything for me. I left and went to Bandits Dive Bar instead, so Im actually glad, but I feel bad for the owner because workers who dont care will ruin your business. Honestly, every restaurant was packed except yours watch these guys they dont care
Fun cocktails but even better folks!
A nice cocktail bar with great specialty cocktails
I love this place.
Bartender on september 12th was very inconsiderate towards customers. Made derogatory comments our group and refused to give us water before closing.
Lovely
The tall bar tender with the dark brown hair should go play in traffic.
One of the best dive bars in the city. Period.
I had an awesome drink, and the bartender Andrew was amazing. I will come back soon
Laid-back spot
Nicely made cocktails. Service was quick too.
Lots of space with plenty of seating. Good cocktails. Great place to bring a book earlier in the night.
A low key bar in a quieter section of the neighbourhood. Good for chilling out and chatting.
Went there on a Tuesday afternoonBartender was super friendlyCocktails were top shelfLoved the music they playedI would definitely go back when in the neighborhood
I visited from Australia and really enjoyed this place. Thank you
Pricey watered down drinks. Great service however
Nice cozy place we both enjoyed the time
Cute spot on St. Marks. Cozy, dark and usually crowded. I love their pineapple daquiri. It comes in a coupe glass.
Great bar to get away from the stress of your work week.
My new favorite local spot. Great drinks and the staff is awesome! Alex has the best music playlist!
I love you 8000
This place was great! Casual crowd, friendly bartenders, unique and intimate seating - we got a cozy corner booth that was adorable! Happened to show up during happy hour, when rail drinks were only $5 and a few food items only $3. French fries looked delicious and gave a generous portion. Unpretentious crowd. Highly recommend
Great place with excellent drinks. I had a spot on Last Word and my friend had a killer martini. The vibe is fun with no wait and the bartender was very knowledgeable on a wide array of drinks. The atmosphere was fun and colorful and they played excellent 70s music, some of which I had a heard since I was a kid. This place should be packed nightly so don’t miss out. Tell your friends.
One of the older bars on St. Marks Place now offers food too!
Great date spot. Cocktails are wonderful.
Great cocktails good service good music!
Cool spot. Awesome vibe. Great cocktails. Average food
Interesting selection of cocktails.
This place has a very fun vibe. The cocktail menu is pretty generic and the drinks my one time there consistently tasted a little off. Possibly just a fluke. But this place is more than just its drinks. Definitely a place to check out as upon entering I felt transported out of New York City.
Seems expensive but has a generous happy hour
Great lowkey watering hole. Super chill vibes.
Bars shouldn’t be this great.
Good news! Its back! Better than ever! Stay classy mfriends....
My fiancé and I hit up the holiday bar mid day on a week day. We loved the ambiance and were blown away by the customer service. The bartender manager Eric welcomed us and whipped us up delicious cocktails after finding out what we liked (as should any great bartender). We had a conversation about difference between good and great bartenders. Eric was so pleasant and wished us a big congrats for our engagement the day before. We asked him his favorite things to hit up close and was spot on with the recommendations. He even suggested we head over right away if we wanted a seat at a happy hour down the block. Then when the check came turned over I realized he had given us our cocktails for Free! He even was hesitant to accept a $20 bill as a thank you.Hey Eric if you are reading this you are the difference between good and great. Learning what your guests tastes are what they have going on in their lives. You made us feel special. You have customers for life. Thank you!Hope we can throw back some tequila next time we are in town. You must go see Eric!
Came here for happy hour with my girls after a casual workday. The happy hour deals are pretty great and the drinks do their job. My friend and I had their vegan veggie sliders snack which was way more delicious than expected from a dive bar. Ill definitely be going back!
Old gem that is remodeled. Good food. Cheap drinks.
Fun spot for cocktails and nibbles. There are tons of libations to choose from.
The staff were A++. Asked to sit outside and the bouncer set up a table & chairs just for us. Great drinks, too! Love St Marks and was a treat to go to a local haunt.
Layout/atmosphere*Half circle bar in center of room; leather booths, few tables; Christmas lights over the bar; telephone booth by bathroomService*FineFood/drink*Oh Stewardess, I Speak Jive (Gin, aperol, lemon, pear, oleo saccharum, bitters) - Good*Brisket burger sliders [3] (tomato jam, pickle, cheese) - good
Love this place! The karaoke there is great!!
Still one of the best dive bars in NYC
Staff are engaged and personable. Drinks are average (a bit syrupy). A fantastic place to start the night with friends...not a prestige location.
Ive started getting drinks here pretty often. Good after work chill spot. The service could be better but if you just need a relaxing atmosphere to get a drink and catch up with friends this is it.
Its good, cocktails were good and they gave me a little dinosaur toy with my drink. Service was... ok, not great though.
Good, low key place for cocktails. The Mortally Afraid of Madams cocktail is great. With Angels Share, Death & Co and PDT around the corner, this place has a lot of competition and although the cocktails are not as creative, they make up for it with a lack of wait and enough space to accommodate larger groups. Also, boilermakers are on the menu. And if you stay there long enough, you may even be able to get some free hot snacks from the kitchen.
So they fixed this place up recently. It used to be a dive bar in the real sense of the word. Now, it is clean and nice, but definitely more expensive than it used to be. I would never clamor to go to this place, but am happy to pop by if someone else suggests it.
This is the place to go to if you want cheap drinks that pack a stiff punch. It feels like a hole in the wall sort of spot youd expect to drive up to if youre driving cross country and pull over on some silent secluded street. The fact that its in the East Village? Even better. And just love the lights. Classy classy.
Awesome spot. Good drinks in a divey environment. My type of spot.
Usually a pretty chill place to grab a drink. Happy hour until 8pm. Fries are solid/cheap and the portion is generous.
Great cocktails
Had birthday drinks here to great success. Its one of those places thats busy but not too busy. Good looking crowd and quality cocktails. Waitress was super nice.
Very nice bar with tasty cocktails. I definitely recommend to try the DIY cocktails : the waitress brings you all the ingredients and tools to create your own cocktail (and she takes the time to explain how to do it). Very Fun and convivial
Lil cozy dim chill spot. Quite good, albiet costly, drinks. Excellent 90s hip hop music selection.
We went in on a Sunday and were treated to movie soundtrack night. The cocktails were good and affordable. The bartender was fun and knowledgeable. We liked it and wished we lived closer by.
LES institution. Nuff said.
Great cocktails. Good atmosphere and music. A far cry from the old Holiday lounge a few years ago.
- Pretty and cozy dive bar with great lighting- Vibe was exactly what we were looking for for a post-dinner cocktail
Cute little place & great drinks!
Good vibe, laid back, nice atmosphere. Great menu and drink selection. Highly recommend.
Probably more enjoyable on weeknights. Currently here on a Saturday and a group of overgrown bros from Jersey are poisoning the atmosphere. Good drinks & food though. Wantons are nice.
Excellent non-alc cocktail menu & great food
Very laid back, friendly spot. Attentive bartenders that make great drinks and a quiet, dim lit ambiance thats perfect for first dates or small gatherings
Its very kitschy and cute with some excellent drinks deals at the happy hours. It can get really loud later on, but earlier on its a great place to hang out and have a good selection of beers, friendly staff and less of an intense vibe that some of the other bars around.
Fun for a night out - smaller bar so gets crowded easily. Only a few tables and more of a beer bar with some cocktail options.
Divey but decent.. has character. Will check it out again when Im with the right crowd
Great vibe and good selection of drinks. Win win.
Friendly staff. Great Happy Hour!
The drinks are solid and the bartenders are good, but their prices suck and are pretty high for a standard cocktail.
Pretty sure they served me a glass of straight lemon juice with bug spray in it
Nice chill spot with a great happy hour. Warm decor. Friendly staff.
Interesting cocktail menu and some nice liquors available. Spacious and clean. Friendly bar staff.
Incredible place great drinks made by great bartenders. The food is awesome
Old East Village dive bar on St. Marks, now refurbished with Meatpacking prices. Plenty of better, cheaper options all over the place.
Place was cool. Line for the bar long. Staff didnt seem to be having a good night!
Such a chill environment and fun menu
Unique delicious cocktails and decent cheap food.
Its a vibe. Staff is top notch bar people always!
Love the atmosphere here! Great music really cool bar tenders.
I had visited the original one and while that was a dive bar this is a nice cocktail bar experience with some cool memorabilia, good music and expert mixologists
Awesome dive with a weird name and great jukebox
Fun spot but good to avoid during the holidays given the crowds of tourists
Excellent non-alc cocktail menu. Great bartenders. The best cuban sandwich on a donut ever.
Great bar food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Will definitely come here again!
Dive bar meets cocktail bar. Pretty cool place with a decent happy hour:
First time I went, was treated great and the cocktails were good. Second and third time the drinks were still fine, but was not treated well by staff. Sitting right at the bar(which is not that big), glass almost empty and bartender never offered or asked me about another, despite his eyes going over the (then empty) glass; wouldnt meet my eyes. Had to call for his attention, then get explained to that the 2-4-1 happy hour sign outside didnt mean two drinks when you pay for one, it meant half price drinks. He seemed exasperated that I had been expecting a second drink...okay; whatever. Choose your sign wording better? Uhm..I mean, Ill GIVE you another drink- yknow, if thats what you were EXPECTING...I GUESS I can do that for you.Oh, save it. All that vigorous tin-shaking somehow hasnt gotten you the biceps to talk to me like that but Im still gonna tip you well cuz Im not a prick.
Small and very noisy, but everyone had a really good time and I think thats what is most important.
Stinks when you have big shoes to fill!!! The original Holiday has my heart! As long as George was tending the bar!
Really like this place for a drink before dinner. Dive bar but clean, with good cocktails.
Simple bar with delicious cocktails. Not too noisy so you can keep up conversation with your friends.
Great space for parties! Drinks were pretty good as well.
This is a standard dive bar in the east village. Theres nothing wrong with it, but I wouldnt choose to go here.
If you havent had a pineapple night, you havent lived.
Lost a little bit of its character after the remodel, but still one of my favorites since the 90s!
Best experience ever with Matt Freelander!
Good drinks. Good prices. Good atmosphere.
High brow cocktails sans the bouginess. Bartenders are at a mastery level. Old school NYC and New Orleans vibes.
Great bar. Its like the music was playing right off of my old iPod.
Divey. But honestly who cares? This place is great
You will never want to leave. Get there late leave when the sun comes up.Bring your singing skills.
Raucous, festive bar with surprisingly good cocktails.
Great cocktails in this easily missed bar smack dab in the middle of St Marks street. Never super crowded and music volume isnt deafening like most places these days.
Punk rock scene that has long hours compared to the 2 block radius.
Very cool bar with amazing cocktails
