The cofee here is so good! I ordered the decaf latte with oat milk and it was perfectly smooth but creamy and with a nice taste that wasnt bitter or anything. I think the Swiss water extraction helps so it doesnt use chemical decaffeination... more natural. Now, the place nor location is all that good but the coffee is worth it!
Always kind staff, nice calm atmosphere, music is never too loud, and the main reason I come here, the Iced Latte. The espresso roast they use here is just THE best and taste amazing. The cortado is a close second, also incomparable. Please add a little more signage outside! Easy to walk by if your not from around here and not even notice. One of my fave coffee shops.
Nice coffee shop. It has good quality drinks. They also serve vegan options, which is great. Could be just me, but the folks working there are not rude and are generally pleasant, but do come off pretentious.
Ordered a latte. The espresso was delicious and was a 10/10 cup of coffee. No bitterness and the perfect amount of foam. Would definitely come back.
I really enjoyed PROOF coffee cafe. Cozy beautiful spot. Great friendly staff. I had cheddar scone & latte. Yummy!! I would highly recommend this place if youre in Central Harlem.
I went to Proof Coffee Roasters for an iced latte. While waiting for my order, the barista got on the phone (presumably with a manager or the owner of the establishment) complaining that two Black men were sitting at a table outside of the cafe. I had walked past the men when entering the cafe, and they were simply sitting and chatting, not bothering anyone. After the barista got off the phone, she proceeded to harass the men outside, saying that they would have to leave or she would call the police. They offered to buy a coffee, but she refused to serve them. She then came back inside and called the police. One of the men came in and said that how she spoke to them was unacceptable (which was valid because she was very rude). She then proceeded to tell the officer on the phone that he was yelling at her (which was not true) and that she didnt feel safe. The men then peacefully left and she ran outside after them. At this point, it became very clear that the barista had no intention of making the latte THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR because she was too busy harassing two innocent Black men to do her job. So I ended up leaving without coffee before the police showed up to potentially further escalate this unnecessary situation. Would definitely never come back!
Adorable cafe; cute vibe displaying local art. Love that. I had a delicious matcha latte and a pastry. Staff was nice and friendly. Came at an off hour and there was plenty of seating. Would definitely come here again!
The cup sizes (and the location itself) are smaller than other local cafes but I find the coffee better tasting. Watch out for the narrow counterfront area. Nice work space in the back but the best seat in the house is at the front window.
BE AWARE 😤😡The barista with colored hair sings “ loud “ and dances and doesn’t notice clients at the counter:-( bathroom needs cleaning recommend a 30 min schedule. Drip coffee is weak and they have no milk or cream condiments for self service :-( Is give it 1 star but I gave 2 because there are a couple people that care there like the Mgr and the 2 girls that work there. Also bagels and pastries are not fresh items not sold the day of get refrigerated and sold for the same fresh price :-(Jan 25/19 Doors are wide open and very cold inside the store. After asking to consider closing the door the employee with the colored hair said it was too hot behind the counter and the door is to remain open. When I said to consider the clients inside dressed in heavy jackets he said it’s to hot behind the counter :-(Then I asked to purchase a soup and to keep it refrigerated until I was ready to go and he refused my request. Now 30 min before closing I purchased the soup and was told that there is NO bread to-go unless I eat it here!!!! That’s messed up because I usually get bread every day when I buy the soup so now I’m suggesting “discrimination “... not good!!
Rly good cold brew for $4 is hard to come by. Love
Good people. Great coffee. Wireless could be better. Price is pretty high. Overall though, this a great place to be.
Great spot for coffee and ambience. Flat white was really good (I got two!) and the music was just right for a Saturday afternoon. Service was peak — super friendly and helpful.
Great coffee location. It’s very close to my house. The coffee is usually good but every once in a while it’s not. My wife and I have a running joke, trying to guess which way it’s going to go. We like it tho! We keep going!
I found this place by word of mouth when I reported to teach at my summer school site. Staff are friendly and responsive to special requests. There’s a little seating in the back and Wi-Fi for laptop warriors. The coffee is very good. On those days my wife drove me, she’d get a coffee too.I also recommend the chocolate chip cookie (slight salt garnish accentuates the chocolate).
No pastry.. only bagels Im in NYC Im not buying a bagel from a coffee shop. But the real kicker is the horrible latte. If you cant make lattes properly, dont open a coffee shop or just sell drip or pour overs or cold brew. You know you got a bad latte when they covered the coffee for you so I knew I had to open it up to see the damage. I loaded that ish up with sugar and took the L
Stopped in to grab a quick cup of coffee. Cozy vibe and cute place close to work.
My go to place for fresh beans. If you buy a bag of beans, you get a free cup of coffee. The staff is always friendly and they allow dogs, which is a plus. They dont really want dogs in there while youre seated for awhile, but coming in for a togo item is fine.
This cafe is so cute and cozy. The coffee is good, and the staff is super pleasant. Im always greeted with a warm welcome. This is one of my favorite places to get coffee in the neighborhood.
I work a couple of blocks down from Proof so I stop in once or twice a week. Its a nice atmosphere and very nicely decorated. The staff is lovely and I never find anyone with an attitude. Nice array of pastries as well as coffee. I usually get a small black or cafe mocha ...taste great. It can get very crowded at times so I try not to go when Im in a hurry. All in all a solid A.
I really like this coffee spot, but they need to update their hours on google. two weekends in a row i tried to go at 8:30am and then 8:50am and they were not open. i look forward to their coffee, and their pastries are very good. so it’s rather disappointing when it’s not open when google says it should be open.
I love this place. I come here often to get a caffeine boost and study, the vibe is so great I dont even notice how much time Ive been working. The shop itself is really pretty, especially with the large windows up front. The music is good, the coffee is always delicious, the sandwiches are SO yummy and the treats are addicting! Everyone who works here is so nice too, its the perfect coffee spot.
Great coffee shop and great location. Hours are super convenient for early risers and the service is excellent.
My go-to coffee place in the neighborhood! They have reasonably priced coffee and pastries and you can work on your laptop for the afternoon. They also exhibit art by local artists, which you can purchase! They currently close at 4pm— the Google times are not always up to date.
Stumbled on this place during an afternoon exploring Harlem.Great find!Great coffee from baristas who really know what they are doing and took the time to explain the process. Also had a nice small meal.I loved the atmosphere with the local artist capturing the feel of the neighborhood. Was able to use the wifi to download some info I needed.
Ive been coming in almost everyday for a couple months now. The staff and service is always top notch and are very welcoming. Best part is the staff being extremely knowledgeable about coffee and providing me with some very detailed info about the different roasts and origins of the coffee they sell. Definitely recommend if youre uptown to come in and grab a cup!
A sweet and cozy coffee shop. The roasts smell heavenly when you walk in. Staff was very polite and welcoming, as were other patrons. A lot of seating to relax and sip or work and read.
What an act of kindness they did when they offered me a free iced cup of water with my iced coffee! They saw I was slumping in the heat, and they offered me a free iced water. It was so considerate I had to come here and leave a good review. I wish I could have sat down and enjoyed myself in their little cafe, but corona is preventing that. :/ Still....lovely place, and lovely people.
Very good coffee, yummy pastries (slim on selection), good vibes. Small but cute.
Home of the dirty chai with macadamia milk... hot.. omgx100 this place is super duper clean and nice . The staff are always super nice... located on the avenue inside of a brownstone type building . Just a few steps off the ground floor aside from all the delicious coffee and tea options.. theyvalso have muffins..lots and lots of muffins ..vegan selections as well. The morning glory is incredible.. I had a almond crossaint . Needless to say you will have it once and love it and have more..literally the proof in the cup..
The experience is really new yorkish. Walking up the stairs, getting to the door like to friends apartment. Small, bright coffee place with street view serving pastries and bagels along great tea selection and coffee. Very cozy and friendly. But coffee itself could be better.
Very nice neighborhood coffee shop. Very friendly and informative staff. Reasonable prices for Manhattan. Cash and credit accepted. Street parking only. Coffee is very delicious and the shops atmosphere is very casual and relaxing. Definitely a great spot for any coffee drink. Not sure what to get just ask and the staff are more the willing to help. They do make traditional coffee styles as well as Starbucks style of coffee. 10/08/21
This is your chance to be seen and make money. Lovely place but hard to spot BUT if you put tables outside you can finally be on the map. Everyone will notice you! Create a lovely and inviting outdoor space, look at Double Dutch or Monkey Cup, they created a unique space. Monkey Cup even used wood from the fallen trees last week to make something unique, free basically. I hope you will up your game because your coffee is good but many people don’t know it yet.
Is cool, the waitress was super nice and warm, the hot chocolate was okay, and the cookie was good, perhaps I didnt enjoy it as much as I wanted to because my company wasnt nice at all, a good place to relax and drink coffee even though they dont have a variety of milk neither coffee
What a find. The coffee is pricy but a journey well worth talking. Get a bag of beans (they can grind them for you) then aeropress or pour over at home. The roasting style is more restrained than some better known merchants and you can really appreciate the flavors. I chose Tanzanian Peaberry. I couldnt believe I made the cup. So complex and beautiful. Just wow.
Yeah! Just what the area needed ! Great coffee, sandwiches and pastries, with friendly, quick service in a lovely setting. The baristas take their coffee seriously and will teach you the nuances of various brews and drinks.Free wifi allows me to work as well as enjoy coffee and food.I am now a regular. See you there :-)
Such amazing coffee and delicious food! The service is the best thing about Proof. Highly recommend!
The best hot chocolate Ive ever had in a paper cup! Howie was a delight!
Loved this place! Awesome coffee, nice friendly service, free wifi and power outlets to plug in my laptop while I did some work. Oh and they also have a bathroom.
Proof coffee roasters not only has amazing matcha lattes but great employees with fantastic, customer service. Zachary and Brian, are very welcoming, friendly, and hardworking. Everytime, I come for my regular matcha tea, i am greeted with a smile and a how are you. These employees seem to really care about their job and the customers they service. I feel as if, they make my matcha with love. Its always so delicious !I will never go to another coffeee shop in harlem as long as, Zachary and Brian, are employees at proof roasters. Great job guys!
They stopped selling sandwiches but the pastries are good. My favorite drink there is the shaken smore latte its better than Starbucks drinks. But honestly depending on the barista its a hit or miss. And oftentimes the rest of their drinks arent too good. Chai latte is good. I get everything with oat milk.
Best cappuccino in harlem. Incredibly friendly staff. Theres just something very cozy about walking into this place first thing in the morning and then strolling around the park with a coffee.
Nice coffee and staff. The most nice and warm place in the neighborhood.
Great service and welcoming staff! They make the drinks perfectly every time and it’s also a great place to study. Damian and Zach are the best don’t forget to tip them.
I love this neighborhood coffee shop. This has been my go-to coffee shop since I moved to Harlem. Its a great place to work if you are able to find a seat, however, I do not recommend taking calls to respect others who are working around you. The place is small but cozy, and the staff is super friendly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their cheddar scones and vanilla cinnamon lattes. The prices are a little high, especially for Harlem. I am able to get coffee and baked good for much cheaper in midtown. But the deliciousness makes it worth it.
This place is great, but it seems like they could use more staff. I had to wait ~20 minutes for a small cappuccino. It was delicious though!
Love this neighborhood coffee shop. The baristas are the friendliest ones around! Ive suggested this to close friends and family. Its a go to relaxing spot.
Very polite and friendly staff
Very good coffee and a fabulous pain au chocolate
I like cafes especially the one with free wifi and nice wooden tables to use for your work. Its a simple cafe which is accommodating and serves you what you need from a decent cafe.
Great coffee fast and friendly service highly recommend coming here to start your morning!
Great quaint spot for quality coffee, nice window overlooking ACP which is even nicer when its open. Friendly people here, both customers and staff.
Well location was great for me since I was parked in front (I know thats cheating). I am not sure what bean they are using for my macchiato but it was very good. The taste was not too strong but not light, just right at medium. The customer service was quick and polite. Small but a good use of the space with window seating. Check it out.
Great small coffee shop quite for getting work done. The staff is very knowledgeable and showed a true passion for their craft.
Best coffee shop in Harlem. Gotta try the banana bread too!
Damian is their GM and is he knowledgeable! Great up and coming roaster. Needs Australian coffee from Brooklyn though :)
I LOVE this coffee shop! Literally some of the best coffee in NYC. Really smooth taste and consistent!
Nice place for full organic breakfast with filtered coffee German style. Cool Jazz Music in the background usually.
Even though it seems to be a hip place the service (time) was unacceptable! Was obviously waiting there with money in hand just to go In-N-Out to get something and was ignored by both waiters.
Cute, quaint, great coffee creations. Some of the staff though.. whoa. Always angry, chip on shoulder, type of humans. Besides that!? I love it!
Great iced coffee, poor customer service. Which is sad because I consider myself a regular.
My favorite coffee shop in Harlem. Simple clean great coffee great staff great tunes
Little and comfy place, ideal to enjoy a great coffee alone or with company, quiet with a nice looking and good view window.
Its the cozy atmosphere, great service and super friendly staff that keep me coming back here.
Nice neighborhood place with great coffee. Didnt have any food but what i saw looked tasty
Very good coffee and local made croissants, friendly service, quiet places in the back of the shop
I had a phenomenal latte, 16 oz for $5.75.
Fruit flies in the pastry display! 🪰
Great atmosphere, great coffee, and great service.
One of the best cups of coffee I have had in a long time
Perfect spot for good coffee.Nice balanced taste.Perfect pastries.
The owner of this business owes several of his former employees hundreds of dollars. Commenting here for future employees and to hold him accountable. (Hi, Jeff! I am disgruntled indeed! ✌️)
Fabulous espresso and staff was amenable to adding a splash of both skim and whole milk, per my request. Very cozy vibe, nice bright windows, reasonable prices, a bathroom and Wi-fi! They had some nice music playing at a low and reasonable volume.
I’ve had great cold brew from here and great lattes. Question to the owner is the Harlem location still open or closed?
Amazing & friendly service every time - and coffee/pastries are always on point
I visited before a luncheon nearby to get a couple hours of work in. The staff and vibes were nice and the internet was good.
To start …No hand sanitizer as you entered with no choice to open the door by twist nob. Asked the staff for hand sanitizer “oh we don’t have “. Next…ordered a toasted raisin cinnamon bagel. Received a plain bagel. No napkins. Staff response “oh my bad”.Lastly …there was some patrons conducting a singing audition. Not a good a good experience for the most expensive coffee in the neighborhood.
SO good! This was at their Stamford CT location and it’s so yummy - A++!
I found Proof with my GF when I moved to the neighborhood in 2022. It was THE spot. Loved their Vanilla Cinnamon Oat Lattes and Lemon Loafs. However, since a couple of months ago the quality of their drinks and the atmosphere in the store has really seemed to deteriorate. All of the baristas that used to be there, left. And new baristas were hired. They are short staffed at times, with only one person working the register and making drinks leaving the worker flustered and rushing their drinks. I noticed flies around the pastries, and their plastic-ware lids never close properly and the coffee leaks. I understand that there is high turn over in coffee shops but it has really affected the quality of their products. Sometimes I will go in to see if anything is getting better and sadly I have not noticed any improvement.
Best chai ever
Good morningCoffee is good, nice people behind counter peaceful, comfortable.
Morning wake me up! Very friendly staff.
Every time I go into Proof, I am greeted with a warm hello & smile. The staff is always polite when making my order. There is consistent & genuine interaction with my entire experience. The owner even reached out to say thank-you regarding my most recent visit. Always positive energy to add to my day!
Anniesa and Tina were amazing !
Staff was friendly but new. Decorating was light but enough to set the atmosphere on the slight rustic urban. I got the Nutella latte.
Very lovely space. Quite limited seating but it wasnt overcrowded when I visited.
Just stopped by here and had a cold brew with oat milk and it was very good! The staff member who helped us was very nice and friendly. I wish it was open for dine-in because the atmosphere here is really cool. I will have to return to enjoy another beverage and a good book. I would recommend this spot.
Unreliable hours since new management has taken over. Ive gone a few times at 3:15 or 3:30 and the place is closed already.
Nice coffee-shop. Great ambiance and personnel. I don’t give them a 5 star review because they are way overpriced. Definitely this is one of the coffee places that started gentrification in Harlem.
Cute neighborhood coffee shop.
Visiting family in Harlem, I wanted a quiet place to sit and work for a few hours with great coffee. So many places arent open to seating; I messaged a few places and only one replied. PROOF.Jeff... the owner of the company, actually sent me a text thanking me for my interest and we had brief text chat; warm friendly and proud of his business.True to his word, they were open, seating was available, and the coffee was great! Unfortunately for me, I didnt have a pic of my Vax card handy and while the girl at the counter didnt make a big fuss, she was concerned that officials could pop in and it would reflect badly. I totally respect that, and appreciated her pride in the shop and business. She was truly sincere and kind about it; totally my bad for not being more aware. On the customer service front, they are great. Coffee was really good, and in general, the spot is cozy, quiet and generally relaxing. Only major issue... COVID... outside of that, when Im back in town, Ill be prepared and go back. 🙏💕
Fantastic espresso, nice staff. Would come back again.
I have been a customer to this coffee shop (ACP to Proof Coffee Roasters) for over 6 years and I will sadly not return after my experience today.Dolly, my service animal, and I always make a pit stop to Proof half way through after our walks. The staff has always been so kind, aware that she was a service animal. I’ve even made friends at this establishment over the years.Today, I guess newest barista to start working there, was so incredibly rude to me while asking if my dog was a service animal. A short white woman, with short hair that seems to really dislike working in the service industry. She has served me for several weeks and has never been friendly, and now I know why.And the most annoying part about all of this is my dog was in her dog backpack. We were going to the vet. She wasn’t on the ground. If you have a service animal, Manhattanville Coffee is very welcoming and are so nice. I will take my business there from now on. Proof Coffee Roasters just lost a 6 year long neighborhood customer.
Coffee tastes great. Super nice and helpful staff. Decent pastries
Stopped for tea and coffee, both were excellent and good vibes overall!
Fantastic coffee, great quality beans and outstanding customer service!
Wonderful Coffee spot to relax on a chilly fall day.
Nice place and very delicious coffee, although its a bit too expensive. A large cold brew (the size of a medium iced coffee elsewhere) will run you almost 5 bucks. Alas, the girl at the counter has been nice to me each time Ive gone there. Its a nice place to spend some time, but a tad too expensive for me to get my daily dose of caffeine at.
Nice environment. People totally kind and very helpful.
Great coffee, good internet, polite staff, average pricesPerfect
The space is bright and sunny, with nice windows in the front and back. In addition to the cafe standards of pastries and espresso drinks, they offer sandwich, oatmeal and other heartier food options. The cappuccinos are very large, so consider ordering a smaller espresso drink if youre not a fan of that much milk.
This place is awesome. Amazing coffee and the art work is wonderful too! Great for a morning coffee and bagel, we went back three times in our weekend!
Very friendly staff and nice local snacks. Very NY coffee shop where you walk up the steps to a small brownstone/apartment building to get into the shop. I worked in the shop pre covid and found it to be a good experience. They also have uncommon flavors like Rose, Lavender, etc which I can get when I am in mood for. If they could make cold foam for cold brews it would be a wrap for Starbucks.
Super cute local Cafe. Great coffee & tea, dog friendly, they get baked goods daily from local bakeries. Changing art work on the wall
Really like ACP Coffee. Staff is nice and coffee is good. Easy walk and like others said, if you can sit by the window it’s great on a sunny day.
My new spot! Great feel, food good, quiet place to zone out and get some work done. Love it...Manger D, was very warm, welcoming and helpful.
This place is a scam. I went there at a time when google said it was open, but the store is empty and clearly not operating. Because I had seen they had an online page, I bought coffee from them online. They charged me and sent me a supposed tracking number, but the link says a label has been created, but the item hasnt been received by USPS. Since the item continued to show as not received by the post office, I reached out to Proof Coffee by email. Nobody ever responded to 3 emails that I sent over a week, and the item was never sent to the post office, so I disputed the charge with the card I used to pay for it. A certain Jonathan Chastain reviewed this place about a week before this review. Thats a lie: the place is closed and not operating. Stay away from these people: theyre scammers.Since the owner responds below and I cannot respond to his response, I will add that I have never been an employee of PROOF. I live nearby and went there one afternoon at a time when Google said it was open, and the place was closed and didnt seem to be operating at all. But if it is, Jeff, you can expect me in person soon to have a word with you about the money you stole from me by taking a payment for an online order that you never delivered. Below you tell me that if theres a problem one should contact you, but as I said above, I sent you 3 emails after I was charged for the coffee I ordered, and nobody answered me. I was charged on June 1st, and the tracking number you sent me still says (today, June 23rd) that USPS didnt receive the item you charged me for. In fact, today my bank reimbursed me for the charge, since I disputed it. So I got my money back, but NOT FROM YOU, and I shouldnt have to waste my time or count on my banks insurance to not be robbed.
Great coffee, friendly neighborhood spot. I get a black coffee and a croissant before I head to St. Nick park.
5 days in NYC, this was by far the best coffee I had.
It really was just ok experience. Cappuccino was good. Everything else (food, service, wait)... not so much.Update: the owner reached out and asked more about my experience and apologize. I will give it another try.
Good food and coffee but a little over priced.
Great spot friendly staff and delicious food
The girl who serves there is very nice and helpful. She even politely said the tip I gave her was too much, but I enjoyed the service so giving the tip wasnt a problem.
Nice atmosphere and staff. But I paid almost $6 for a small latte (I guess it was a speciality one) and the WiFi didn’t even work so that I could do work as I was planning. In the end, def not worth it.
This is my favorite cafe in my neighborhood. I have a particular drink I like, Vanilla Chai Latte with Almond Milk, a no one makes it better than ACP . If Im lucky enough to get a window seat on a Spring Day, its like a slice of heaven.
Would definitely recommend. The Tanzania pour over was phenomenal and really enjoyed the avocado toast
It’s a really nice place to study! Staff has always been super friendly and their Nutella latte is pretty good.
Espresso is good although its obnoxious that they serve it in disposable cups when the real thing is sitting right on top of the machine.
Love it! Amazing coffee. Great poached eggs. And the service is A+. They are very friendly.
Quiet and bright space. I tried the raspberry lemon cake which was delicious!
Vanilla ice coffee is one of the best ive had while in NY for the past 2 months.
One of the best coffee places in NYC. Cool vibe. Expanding menu of food options. Including avocado & lox toast. Should stay open latter!
While i love the coffee and other things they sell, ACPs hours are not great. They also frequently close early with little to nor regard for their customer.
Best in the neighborhood. friendly staff and excellent coffee
Every time I visit from Atlanta this is my go to spot. They make an amazing Hazelnut Americano.
Great atmosphere, delicious food and coffee! The baristas were all very friendly and were playing the new Beyonce album so I’m never mad at that!!
Great coffee, nice vibes and art
Great coffee & pastries. Very nice staff.
Best coffee I’ve ad in Harlem. Rugelach is pretty good too
Small, but nice. Good food options too
Friendly staff, pretty good coffee and a nice décoré/Vibe.
Drip coffee, lemon pound cake. GO!
Great coffee with excellent service. This has become my go to spot in the neighborhood.
Good service, friendly staff, quality coffee and pastries.
Nice Coffee Shop. The service is great some days and so so on others. I generally like going to this spot.
Hope they open lil bit early and close lil bit late.
Went there for a cappuccino this morning. Great coffee, great customer service!
Small quaint coffee shop. Really nice staff and food.
Your fake plants need dusting lol
Delicious coffee, similar price as other upscale places. I like extra shots.
Excellent coffee, free wifi, tasty pastries, large window
Wonderful tea very friendly and helpful relax and clean
Great coffee, amazing vibe.
Excellent coffee and incredibly friendly and helpful staff!

Cool little shop
Love this place!
Fab!!!!
Great staff
Presentation A1
Good cappuccini
Proper coffee shop.
Good coffee
Coffee and croissants!
I just walked in for coffee but the atmosphere is phenomenal. Cozy yet spacious. Nicely lit and good coffee too. I would assume the food is delicious given that other patrons seemed to be enjoying themselves. Very quiet and a nice break from the din of the city.
Ive lived in the area for 10 years, discovered this place a few days ago. The atmosphere is calm and excellent to cool off from the heat. The baritas attitude was a little cold but it was decent. I would return to this place.
Great espresso 😋
Really good organic coffee and delicious banana bread at a fair price.
The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is like a Korean cafe.
Super cool, Im French I liked having my breakfast there it was great 🔥🔥🔥👍🏽💚🙏❤️
Good espresso and not in a paper cup.
