I live super close by so this is my favorite place to grab a coffee to go but today I had a super unpleasant experience. The staffs were super rude to me when I tried to get my order. One female staff (her name is Resa I think?) rolled her eyes at me when I asked if I could order yet, she then stared and gave an attitude instead of just giving me an answer. Mind you I did try not to take long to order since I looked up the menu on the app first and already knew exactly what I wanted for my drinks. Super super rude and its not the first time either that this staff had this attitude to me, I usually just shrugged it off, this time is just super unpleasant and unbearable. I don’t think I would come back to this starbucks again. What a shame.

The food and drinks werent bad, but the service was really disappointing. The staff were consistently rude to customers and on their phones or talking amongst themselves instead of attending to customers. Also, no bathroom!

This has happened twice now with this guy so I figure I better warn the masses. This is the closest location to my house, so I go in the morning before work. This morning I had one of the staff members named Richard scream at me because I reached over to grab a stir stick from behind the mobile order stand. They all seem so busy I was just trying to help and not have to stop them making coffees just to get it. I’ve done it many times before with no issues. But I’ve seen him shout at other customers many times before and always assumed they were to blame. I get it now tho lol. They should keep him in check though bc he’s making this a ratchet af location. If you all go there and he makes a big scene and yells at you for no reason don’t feel bad he clearly just has issues

A small low key Starbucks location that serves the standard chain menu. Very conveniently located near Columbia.There isn’t much interior and I felt like it’s not as decorative as other branches. Small and easily crowded. The matcha lemonade took a while to make but it was busy 😭

Big lover of Starbucks but when came in three workers chat each other and do not take order until I called them. And even push me for tip....this is the absolutely worst starbuck ever....and they even use plastic cup to get espresso in machine and they said its the right way to do..I just throw away $5 Americano....thank you workers here..

This is my third time in this Starbucks the first time I came in the afternoon to pick up an order I asked a question and was met with a unfriendly attitude from one of the staff. The second time I came in the evening. I had no issue the stuff was friendly but the Madeline was dry. The third time I came back two days later with my coworker the minute we walked in we was not greeted by any staff it was as if we didnt exist. Then a customer that is regular came in and got a friendly greeting with smiles pair it while we was waiting for our order to be taken we felt some type of way about it. My co-worker order my drink for me and wasnt aware that it was two different Frappuccino one with coffee and one that is creamy without coffee. So she ordered a caramel frappe with crunch wasnt aware that it had coffee so when I was asking the worker if it was coffee it she act like she did not hear me into my co-workers spoke up for me Then other staff explained that we have to order a creamy Caramel Frappuccino with crunch that one with no coffee so she redid it but still had an attitude. The lemon loaf pound cake was disgusting and a waste of money. Overall Im just disappointed with the unfriendly staff. The drink was good.

Those employees are all in a bad mood, I asked for my tea with little ice, I told him I didnt want to do it because I had poor ice, he spoke to me with attitude and he told me how he wanted me not to fill your glass. very rude.

If you dont leave a tip they wont make your drink to your specifications and they will delay your order. Another recommendation is, dont use your stars here for free drinks. Since the app doesnt let you tip when you use your stars for a free drink, youll waste your free drink because they wont make it to your specifications since the person making it sees no tip on the receipt on their tablet. This just happened to me. I actually knew it would because when I tried to choose a tip to pay so I can get my drink right, the app didnt give me an option to tip.

Nice Starbucks near Columbia University main campus. Very welcoming and charming space with several stand up counters in the front. Space is narrow, however it is charming and has a few booths in the back. Staff is pleasant. Coffee is spot on. Given the dearth of restrooms through the city it is a pleasure to note that there was a restroom available.

Hate to leave bad reviews, but service was terrible. Unfriendly, unwelcoming, and rude.

Bad attitude and make the wrong orders and don’t wanna fix it

Terrible experience today. Came in at 10:30am on Monday Sept 11. The man managing checkout refused to give me my birthday drink! Then it took forever to come out.

Great as usual! Nice atmosphere and interior, good coffee - is just what you need after a cold long day. The line was short, service was good as expected, we easily found a table for 3 of us although it was 3 pm black friday when the whole city was off.

Bugs flying around the food, rude manager, and bathroom was gross. I asked for more toilet paper and thought I was being ignored, so I asked someone else and the guy got rude with me. The second person I asked took 2 seconds (literally) to walk 5 steps and grab me a roll of toilet paper. Thank you to the second person I asked! I understand they are short staffed, but no need to get rude when I asked politely each time.

Delicious Cafe Verona today. Right across the street frim Columbia University campus. Opens at 5:30am.

Best for locals to hang out on a Sunday afternoon, but not a great meeting spot for a large group, 2 or 3 friends max, seating is limited. Bathroom is clean and stocked well (soap + paper towels). The crew doesnt get flustered when all u want is to order a Large iced coffee bc u still dont remember the special sizes...But the food case was a bit bare. And I was hungry...

Nothing against the staff here, they do an excellent job. but this Starbucks is always crowded, with students and university staff. mobile orders takes forever. if you are after a quick brew, forget about mobile and get on that damn line. some special drink sold out very quickly. sometimes they make mobile order unavailable at this store, probably due to an overwhelming number of orders. The 110st location is closed due to the pandemic, making this one the only Starbucks on morningside campus. we need an additional Starbucks on Amsterdam Ave!

This is the most disgusting Starbucks I have ever been to. The bathroom is dirty and smells. The soap dispenser doesn’t work. I asked them for more soap or a way to wash my hands and he poured soap from the bottle into my hands. I said, “how are everyone else going to wash their hands?” He said “well I’m taking care of this first.” And went back to the counter. After washing my hands I went to find napkins at the front by the front door to dry my hands and both napkin dispensers were empty. I went to the front and asked the woman if they have more napkins. As she’s looking at her phone she says, “ we are out in the front. You can check the bathroom.” I said, “I was just in the bathroom there are no napkins.” She put her phone in her pocket and said “we are out.” I said ,”this whole place is out of napkins?” She said” yes.” And I asked her “well how am I going to dry my hands? “ she reached back and handed me napkins from the sink they have in the back. These workers are so lazy and don’t care. The bathroom says it all.

Avoid ordering traveler size coffee from them. One of the worst Starbucks coffee place I’ve visited. Staffs were irresponsible and mostly ignored you. I ordered a traveler size coffee to go but never saw they brought out the box. I patiently waited and followed up with a few staffs, they all shrugged their shoulders as if it had nothing to do with them. In the end, everyone knew a client was waiting for 15-20 mins for this but no one was willing to get the box because it was too much of a chore for them. Completely irresponsible including the “supervisor” who couldn’t care less.

Got order wrong and did not want to fix it

Ordered an iced hazelnut macchiato, they acted as if that was a foreign concept, then gave me the wrong size. When I complained, it was crudely poured into a larger cup with an entire iceberg in it and then when that cup leaked, was crudely placed inside of another cup. And after all that, it was disgusting.

They don’t close at 9 went at 8:15pm and they were closed.

I am giving 1 STAR for this location. I left it as 3 stars only so the proprietor cant have it removed.I arrived at 11:12pm to this location. The store was dark and closed. According to Google maps, this location should be open till midnight. I have doubts that they were open past 10pm because the employees had enough time to cash out, clean up, put up the chairs and go home.

What a MESS! My girlfriend went there around 9:00 AM, Saturday , and ordered a Medium Iced Coffee. The barista told her that “we’re not taking cash today”. My girlfriend then offered to pay with a Starbucks gift card. The barista scanned it, and there was a balance of $3.00. The coffee was $3.64, and my girlfriend offered to pay the 64 cents difference. The barista repeated, “we’re not taking cash today”, and then someone came over, a manager or a coworker, and asked her if she wanted the coffee. She told them NO, because they would not accept the 64 cents, plus tip, 75 cents!

Its pretty amazing how cool and collected these people can stay with the tremendous amount of cranky traffic that goes through here each day. The baristas have always been kind to me, stay open much longer than chains in the burbs, and make some pretty delicious drinks.

This Starbucks is perpetually under stocked - to the point where I have to have a back up order in mind every time I go. Service speed isn’t very fast, but it’s not the worst I’ve seen.

Small, tight, minimal seating which is usually occupied by people who sit for hours on their laptops. Bathroom was filthy and smelled so bad. Floors were dirty and the staff is slow and unfriendly.

This place seriously need to do something with these unprofessional staffs acting like a bunch of immature high school kids. The atmosphere is a complete disaster with the staffs SHOUTING at each other and making constant noises. Avoid this place at any cost.

Slow service and unclean environment. I was asked to rejoin the line to pay additional 60 cents for having some soy milk on my coffee. Which should be free for being under 4 oz according to Starbucks policy.

Went in today at exactly 12:35 and ordered an iced white mocha. Watched the barista with the neon pink shirt text on her phone for a full minute while drinks were backing up. She let my espresso shot sit on the syrup for way too long before mixing, causing the shot to die. This is why you don’t text on the drink line. You have a limited window to mix that shot with the syrup to not make the drinks taste go bitter and less creamy. I used to be barista, and this was not good service. If a customer is paying $8+ you need to make sure they get a quality product. My friend ordered a cold brew before me. I got my espresso beverage before he got a simple pour beverage. It would be a one star but the cashier was incredibly professional and sweet. She saved our visit today with her kindness and warmth alone. Others on staff should take note because both partners on the line making drinks were rude. Looking at the reviews, it seems to be an ongoing trend. So thank you to the nice cashier for at least putting a smile on my face!

The coffee was perfect. Unfortunately, there were some people just hanging out so there were no seats. The restrooms here are also closed to everyone now.

Well damn. I love me some Starbucks, but I sure hate seeing people who cant do their jobs, and whine, and still mess up orders. Pick one and stick with it, dont do all three.

Always packed since it is by Barnard and Columbia. They try to tame the line but its not quick. The line to order is too narrow... people cant get out without bumping into you. #uncomfortable

Its a nice coffee shop. The place tends to get jammed pack with lots of people most likely from the hospital and university nearby.

I ordered an Ice Black Tea Lemonade and it taste neither like tea nor lemonade. I asked them to remake one and it still dont taste like anything.

Do NOT order via app, especially if you’re in a rush, they will give you LOTS of ice and will not fill your cup(and I realized when it was too late because I was rushing to work). This is an ongoing issue with this location. I’m paying for VENTI give me my money’s worth!!!

Starbucks is starbucks. The coffee has a consistent taste, not amazing, but consistent. It is overpriced, but not inordinately so considering the prices these days. This is a busy location, and there are big lines here. It is rare to get a seat unless you come at off-times.

I ordered the same drink in the morning which is fine but not the one at night. The worker at night had bad attitude and they get the wrong drink for two times, first they write the wrong ingredient in the tag and I ask them to change but they still do the wrong one with the wrong tea, I wonder if they even look at the tag cause it also happen to my friend (my friend order no ice latte but they still put ice in it, they said that you have to tell them but we did and it’s on the tag, so we ask them to redo it, I really don’t like their attitude)

Exactly what you think it is. There’s a guy with a pit Bull dressed in pink so be careful not to bring children here or they might get mauled and then blamed for it on top of that while the owner walks away.

Ordered a chai with cookie crumbles and mocha, paid for cookie crumbles to find after, there were no crumbles. i went up to the girl with braids and her energy was immediately rude. she said we dont charge for crumbles which is bs. super rude, not coming back here.

A great place for working on a laptop and people watching. You can place a mobile order to expedite the service. It could be a little cleaner but it’s a reliable place where you can feel productive.

I gotta be honest that it gets crowded here during the semester (especially towards the finals), so your order may not have been readily available even when you ordered pick up through the app. But they had renovated the shop recently that they got more booth available (if you want a study spot).

Unexpectedly, the bathroom was disgusting and clearly unattended to for quite some time.

Why, when the pandemic hit, did Starbucks close the big store on 111th (tons of seating, refurbished bathrooms) and leave this one open? I know that baristas are struggling with low staffing and ingredient shortages due to Covid, but even without that factored in, this store just isn’t big enough to cope with the traffic from a highly-caffeinated university campus. Even when the Columbia students were all remote-learning away from campus, this store really struggled to keep up. There’s practically no seating (even pre-pandemic), and the mobile app constantly lists almost every drink barring straight-up coffee as out of stock, even when they aren’t: if you go in and queue for 15 minutes and then wait another 10 for your drink to be ready, you’ll find that it’s not a matter of missing ingredients, just poor inventory-taking. This location also used to have much longer hours, probably owing to the fact that the students have late nights: if I remember correctly, 0600 to 0200 the next morning. Really frustrating.

I hadnt been here for three years, but after moving back to my old neighborhood Ive become a regular.This is a big, busy, urban Starbucks. Theyve remodeled it since I used to come here and opened up the space nicely. When Ive come, the baristas have been pleasant and efficient.Its like any big-city Starbucks -- behind me is a guy shouting in Spanish into his phone -- and I understand the reason for the tall stools that dont invite marathon sessions of hanging out and maybe falling asleep.A homeless guy took a cup of coffee from a woman when her back was turned and pretended it was his. She suspected him but didnt see it happen, so she didnt accuse him. But a barista saw it. She marched over, told the guy to leave, and gave the woman a fresh cup. I was impressed.Not perfect, but for this city its pretty good.

I don’t know what happened but ever since the remodel back in May the coffee has a disgusting burnt taste to it. I gave it a month to see if something would change and started getting my fix at the location down the street on 110th (where it tastes normally). After a month or so I came back to this location and it still tastes just as bad.

Poor customer service. Threatened to charge extra because I politely asked my drink to be remade with no ice. She also mentioned how I may receive less cold brew because I asked for no ice. Cold brew is already supposed to be cold, their app automatically sets the drink to be served with ice despite them traditionally, personally serving it without ice. Disappointing.

This location lacks friendly customer service as well as even good customer service. From the start to finish it was just horrible customer service. I accidentally picked up the wrong order and the barista just snatched it out my hand. No apology or anything. I said I was sorry and he said something rude under his breath. I will not be back.

The slowest line I have ever seen. I ordered a tomato mozzarella sandwich about ten minutes back and it’s still lying on the counter. No one has cared to heat it. There are 4 ppl behind the counter! This is very inefficient.

The customer service was the worst i ever had.

Slowest line Ive ever been in at a Starbucks. Waiting to place an order, not waiting for a drink. There were about 7 employees waiting around and talking to each other. I eventually had to leave because I was going to be late for work. In past experiences, Ive found I can count in Starbucks to be efficient with my time and get me in and out when Im in a rush. This Starbucks was very disappointing.

Too small. Not that good service, either (I guess this is because of the always-too-crowded working environment.. I get it.. but.. still....). But, you know, its Starbucks. I like the coffee here.

Visit this establishment at 8:30am & get Trent’s pink drink every morning however today the girl making my drink was rude & got upset because I asked her to fix my drink. The reason I asked is because she never put it in the mixer cup she just put it in the Trenta cup without mixing the drink I spend $12 a day I don’t think she should give attitude for asking her to do her job. Lazy people always work double she should keep that in mind

This is by far the best Starbucks in Manhattan. Though the lines may get long due to its location by Columbia, every person working at this Starbucks is wonderful. They are super friendly here, efficient, and if you get to know them here they will always make you walk out of here with a smile. If you are ever up in Morningside Heights and feeling a little sleepy, pass by and get your coffee here.

Im a former partner, and I was very irritated by this store today. Besides the fact that I had to wait longer than necessary for my drink, I felt very bad for the trainee on the bar. He was left BY HIMSELF for a while, when he clearly is not ready to be on bar by himself yet. The guy who was training him needs a serious talking to my the manager. You DO NOT leave a trainee alone on the bar like that! Besides making the store look unprofessional, the poor trainee feels lost and overwhelmed. Overall, the organization of this store is not the best, but the treatment of that trainee is what really upset me today.

I went to this Starbucks to get my daily frappacinno coffee & I was turned away. I was told there was no more frappacinnos being made tonight, it was 11 oclock & they close at 12 oclock. SO SLOW

The absolute worst experience I have ever had at a Starbucks ever. The woman behind the counter (her name was Melanie) first told me she could not break change for a $100 bill even though my bill was well over $25. She then continued to break a $100 bill for the young lady behind me whose bill was $3.75. As time passed, we waited and assumed the baristas simply forgot our tea that we ordered. When we politely asked the barista if the tea was still being made, the same worker at the front (Melanie) yelled, She didnt order that! from the other end of the counter. I have never been treated with such disrespect by a single woman. Every other coworker was so polite and lovely; however, the one worker at the front (Melanie) discouraged us from ever returning. I also spoke with several Columbia students who said they refuse to give their business to this Starbucks due to that same worker.

Busy, lively and great service. One of the baristas even went out of her way to make a sampler for us to check out.

Not having the habit of leaving comments and destroying the image of the company, I would like to inform the hierarchy of the mediocrity of the service offered this November 28, 2024 at 4 p.m.Clearly the employees, a young woman named Rosa and her partner (I couldnt see her name) were extremely cold...for a price of 16 euros 3 hot drinks, we hope for quality service.I understand that the days are trying and tiring, but there was no one there and to be welcomed like that is simply unacceptable.I invite you to come and reorganize this.Disappointed French tourist!!

The employee with glasses and red hair was very unfriendly and denied me access to change my babys diaper, so she lied to me saying that there were no bathrooms and when I explained the reason, she told me that she was not going to let me in. Bitter!

It should be closed. Bitter coffee. Minimum service. No public toilets. Lets close it, come on.

Perfect place. There are sockets and a toilet. In many of these cafes, the toilets are still closed.
