This is my favorite neighborhood cafe, by far. Although I always do take it out, its perfect for meeting up with a friend or just getting some work done. The staff is very friendly and they remember your usual orders, which is great when I am in a rush. Anything you get, you will enjoy. I always get the Iced vanilla oat latte. Is so delicious, and well-prepared. Please try the breakfast sandwich, It’s a must!

Uptown coffee shop serving fine coffee and eats on a quiet-ish street is Lennox Coffee. was recently in Harlem and stop in for a Sunday afternoon pick-me-up and was pleasantly delighted by caffeinated beverages, here. there is a good amount of seating inside and some seating outside the entrance. the vibe is relaxed and casual. the coffee dominates the space and there are nice touches like a sleeve of books lined up at the front window.ordered a cold brew with oat milk and it was good. the barista carefully took time making my drink and it showed in the end product. a smooth caffeinated drink perfect for strolling through a neighborhood and taking in its sights, sounds, and charms. this was a delicious drink—wish Lennox was closer to me as i’d be here a lot more often. cold brew, $4 + tax + tipthe staff is efficient. wasn’t super chatty but the coffee is good.

This is very cordial, and warm setting. I had a cappuccino with soy milk. My efficacious coffee was just the right potency to cure that mid-day slump feeling. There was a young lady with dreads who helped me to choose a pastry that didnt have nuts in it; this was so help, otherwise I would be having an allergic reaction. The ambiance is very comfortable, low-key, and welcoming. I brought my friend, and she enjoyed the vibe as well. This is a great place to just unwind.

Friendly staff & a very delicious latte - I ordered another after tasting and finishing the first cup. I liked the option of adding tomatoes to my cream cheese bagel, and I enjoyed a small, tasty banana-nut muffin. On a Sunday morning, the line of customers never stopped, but still they served us in a timely manner.Update: my next visit wasnt as great. The latte still tasted delicious, but the person on the counter was rigid and military-like. Totally a different experience from my first visit, so I deducted one star!

There is always a line at 8am when they open but its actually pleasant -- gives you a time to slow down in this crazy city. Plus, it gives you a sense of how popular (and good!) this coffee shop is. :) The menu is actually larger than what they have on the black board, admittedly, it took me too long to figure that out. Haha. They also have a cute take-one-leave-one book section by the printer. You wont regret stopping by. ❤️

This was my favourite spot to have coffee in my stay in Harlem, I love it.Before you enter in, youll realize that theres a platform just outside of the place, with a big poster of the cafés name. The place is small, but really nice, it has wood tables and chairs, with some old lamps. This place gets crowded after 8am, so if want to have a seat youd better go early to avoid waiting for a seat.Like in almost every café, there are two lanes, one for order and other in order to wait for orders. Staff is really nice, they are very chatty, kind and welcoming, split in the cashier or preparing the coffee and food. There are a lot of food to have, including pastries, muffins or bagels. There are some different kind of muffins ( my favourite is the blueberries one ) and bagels, where you can choose both bagel and fillings, I sticked with cream cheese, and they also have some different ones. At the end you can have your bagel toasted and they will notify you when its ready.Apart from typical coffee-related beverages ( they have a lot of different ones ), you can find some kinds of teas or just a Chai Latte, which its really good.Theres a good place to work with your laptop, in fact there are a lot of people with it or just reading a book. The WiFi works really good, and you can find some power plugs on the walls. The ambient is nice and the music is low, but after midday in summer it gets a bit hot as the A/C isnt able to keep up with the heat, but under the fan is okey.

This is a great coffee spot in Harlem! I love the coffee here. I buy the beans to make coffee at home and now I can barely stand the taste of other coffee spots. I definitely recommend.Con: limited limited seating. This is not the place to go if you want to chill and work for a few hours. You may be able to do that if you are lucky enough to find a table. In the summer they have some “outdoor seating” but I use that term loosely.

Lenox coffee has been a staple in my routine both before and during this pandemic. I cant express how much it means to walk into a place and feel such a sense of community. The shop has an amazing vibe so it’s unfortunate we can’t eat inside right now, but understandable, they just want their customers to be safe. So they have super cute curb side tables. Open mic night outside is my absolute favorite! The coffee and pastries are amazing. Everything from a straight black coffee to my extra hot, oatmilk lattes to my iced americanos… you really cant go wrong. Please try their blueberry scone, you wont regret it.The hours are generous for a coffee shop. The staff has always been friendly to me, most know me by name. Ive always witnessed courtesy and professionalism from their staff and actually once was there to witness them on the receiving end of horrible treatment and they responded gracefully. I could never after how the barista was treated. Which is what’s prompting this review. People, its a pandemic. These small businesses, like Lenox, are navigating ever changing restrictions and regulations, and trying their best to keep customers safe and satisfied during a global pandemic. The world needs more Lenox Coffees. Bravo Lenox!

I have lived in NYC for over 30 years - neighborhood coffee shops are wonderfully integral to the vibe of the community and each neighborhood I have enjoyed. I moved to Harlem exactly one year ago this week. My first job - find the local java joint. Lenox is the closest and the website images are marvelous. While we all navigate this current world of COVID - Lenox Coffee has been up until recently - in step with other similar businesses in the neighborhood and city. Plexi protection, signs to wear a mask, outdoor seating, etc. Once the city put in place a vaccination mandate to dine indoors - this changed at Lenox Coffee. What you will now find is taped off indoor seating and three - yes - only three outdoor tables. If you are not one of the first three people to arrive - forget sitting to enjoy a bit of relaxation and community. I have asked the staff on several occasions why they are not following the city guidelines and instead closed the indoor seating - post a sign that vaccinations are required if you wish to sit indoors and ask one simple question - which every other coffee shop asks - if you wish to sit indoors with your order I will need to see your vaccination card. Super simple. Every business in this city needs to adjust to our new reality - my working environment has changed dramatically. Is that mask 8 hours a day fun? No - but its necessary right now. I have been given conflicting reasons for the taped off indoor seating by the staff - The owner makes us do this. People sneak into the tables anyway. We dont want to discriminate against people not vaccinated. We dont have time to ask for vaccination cards. The staff is always gracious and have answered my questions courteously. To the staff / owner at Lenox Coffee - this pandemic is long from over - I encourage you to take that little extra step - take down the tape - follow the city guidelines - reopen the indoor seating - put up a sign - ask people when they place their order if they plan to sit indoors for their vaccination card. Community. Your customers will appreciate that you are offering them a place to gather SAFELY.

I am so disappointed with the new corporate look and feel of Lenox Coffee that I have decided to stop going there. Owners will no doubt not miss me as I only ever bought one small coffee per visit, which I would sip for over an hour as I graded student papers and chatted with new friends. Ive been a weekend regular since I moved to the neighborhood in 2013, and over the past three years Ive met some wonderful people there--long-time Harlem residents with whom I may not otherwise have crossed paths. I valued the coziness and diversity of the place, and befriended a range of people: the man whod just returned from the Hajj; the retired janitor with his walker and iPad; the weekend dads on kid duty; I even ran into a long-lost student from California. But things have changed. Locals have stopped coming, and Im joining their ranks. A more-hipster-than-thou barristo smiled and said good riddance when I mentioned a neighborhood resident who didnt come anymore because of the unwelcome feel of the new configuration of chairs and tables. That callous remark clinched it for me. If that young mans attitude represents the new Lenox Coffee, count me out.I get it---this is a business, and businesses need to think of the bottom line first and foremost. But is the bottom line ALL a neighborhood café should be concerned with? What about the opportunity cafés provide as social hubs where people of different backgrounds and mindsets can gather, meet, exchange views, and expand their hearts and minds? Im reminded of how disappointed Ernest Hemingway became when his old work-refuge, the Closerie des Lilas, shape-shifted in its bid to cater to Pariss influx of affluent Americans. In its chase of the almighty dollar an old neighborhood establishment lost some its character forever. The new Closerie no longer welcomed the old-timers, and veteran waiters were made to shave their military mustaches and sharpen up their professional look. Now, only the glitzy rich patronized the Closerie. Gone was the starving writer in search of le mot juste, lingering all morning over a single latte. Is this really how we want our neighborhoods to go? As a white professional transplant Im certainly part of the Harlem gentrification wave. But do we have to run roughshod over longtime residents who once welcomed the chance to linger and chat with new friends over a single cup of coffee?I am sad to say goodbye to my weekend mornings at Lenox Coffee. But Im done. The place has become a dead zone in my heart.

Great coffee and baked goods. Theyve reduced the amount of table seating since I was here last, but thats probably a good thing. Was probably a fire hazard the way they had it, but you could always find a seat. WiFi with purchase.

Nice and RARE spot in the area where you can eat healthy, and love their little toasts with either Tuna, Egg, or Avocado, they are super nice, and announced this morning theyll be serving soup, really nice place that tries harder and as a result is always full

Great coffee (they use Stumptown predominantly) and baked goods. They’ve also started doing breakfast bowls that are healthy + delicious. The baristas behind the counter are speedy and I’ve never had to wait super long. I’ve never had it, but they also have a few taps and must have a chill bar setup in the evenings. Make sure you sign up for their loyalty program, as they are smart about promotions. The only thing I don’t love — they redid their floor space in the past year and got rid of a lot of the chairs. There was never anywhere to sit before, and now it’s worse. Place on taking that coffee to Marcus Garvey Park.

Hidden behind scaffolding right now but a GREAT place for coffee and pastries. I had their vege sandwich/roll which was delicious and filling. The coffee is delicious and youre made to feel bad if you stay back and use their wifi and work for an hour or two (as some places sometimes guilt you into...). Love this place... plus, they have wines and beer!

First time here. Would I go back? No.They werent very busy but still forgot my simple order of hot chocolate. People who came after me got their drinks before me. Later they realized I never got my drink and asked me what I got. They didnt even apologize. The hot chocolate was luke warm, and Im pretty sure I saw her putting in something that looked and tasted awfully like Hersheys chocolate syrup. Not just that but their WiFi is extremely slow, so if dont expect to get any work done there.

Coffee was okay. There was a young girl who told me there were closed and held the door open for me to leave. This happened around 3pm. I assumed she meant no indoor dining however she did not clarify, was very short and rude with me. She seemed to have friends hanging out inside the place, unprofessional and overall unpleasant experience.

Had a pleasant experience at the Lenox cafe .... The space is a little cramped and congested so I think its best for a grab and go situation . I had a chai iced latte which was delicious and a Belgian waffle which was also good . Would recommend to others ! The staff was great and attentive and i love that its a gay friendly establishment !
