Sat at the bar. Great beer selection. Had the Swedish meatballs. They were on point and delivered quickly.Highly recommend the apple strudel for dessert. The highlight was Jacks. Great conversation. Knows his beers. Very attentive.
Received some very warm and excellent service from Jack!! Was very happy with the food actually and didn’t know red cabbage could taste that good. Surprised my friend from Germany with this place. He said the food was legit! Great place for people that are on a keto diet!
Jack was great! Once he learned about my husband’s passion for a rare Oktoberfest beer, he let us sample another— one of his personal favorites, shared a bit of the history and was super friendly and very attentive. Cool place, perfect spot for a quick authentic German beer!
My second time here and Jack was an absolute delight. He made us feel comfortable and took care of us with a specially crafted cocktail. We will be back because of how welcomed we felt. The vibes are always positive here.
Got recommended the Mixed Bratwurst Plate and did not regret it. It’s a great plate that has a bit of everything in it. Will definitely come back again.Cheers to Jack for the recommendation!
Great spot for our lunch here in NYC. We love German food and we were not disappointed. The Jager Schnitzel was delicious and Jack and his assistant were very attentive with personalized service.
Kind bartender. A group of smooth-brains crowded into the bathroom for extracurricular activity, no Diddy. Shady character at the bar slid us a card for his nearby strip club.
Service was exceptional. Food was delicious. Jack and Inna did a great job. Gael was washes oh yeah. The whole staff was amazing
Thanks Jack for the great drink and food recommendations. So glad I randomly stumbled upon this unique place in midtown! Awesome decor- from the collection if beer steins to the flags and tables, very cool vibe. Will be back
I’m here at 2pm and it’s very chill. Service was impeccable. Where can you get a liter (Mass Bier) of Franziskaner Hefeweizen on tap? Tell me.My pretzel is bigger than your head. They are playing cheesy German hits. Why arent you here right now?Gonna pick up my German cousin and we have a dinner reservation here for later tonight. Yeah.
The food was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with a flavorful beer! It was a fantastic dining experience for the whole family, and we’re excited to visit again soon.
PERFECT!!!This restaurant had pretty much no flaws. If I HAD to dig for something, please, owner, add bierocks (Runza) to your menu. That is all you are missing to an amazing German dinner. You add a huge bierock sitting on a pile of mashed potatoes covered with brown gravy, and I will be there every night! The service was perfect, and the environment was Schön. Definitely stop by this place. You wont regret it.Full bar & limited Coke products.
Jack is FANTASTIC! He swerved us all night with custom drinks and desert pairings. He is well groomed and well spoken. He knows his stuff, proud of his craft and very professional. Be careful, he’s got the silver tongue of a salesmen. I bet he could have talked me out of my pants! (Jokes, he is very professional) If Jack is not the owner he should be the face of the business.
I come here at least once a month, and the service never fails to exceed my expectations. My favorite beers are always in stock and perfectly chilled. With an extensive beer list, theres always something new to try, ensuring youll find something you like. One of the bartenders, Jack, always greets me by name and remembers my order, which adds a personal touch to the experience. The staff is excellent, and it’s a great place to hang out with friends. Be sure to check out the outdoor area too—perfect for people watching and enjoying a cold beer in the heart of New York!
Very friendly service and a celebratory atmosphere combine for an excellent place to bring friends and family for a fun night out.Be sure to come here hungry because the portions are generous. The pretzel starter had mustard and beer cheese and was a great pairing for both. I had the pork schnitzel and it was enough for two. Another had the brats and they looked and tasted amazing. A must if you enjoy good German food.
Came with my friend after work for the first time to this place, the best beer and amazing vibes, thanks to our waitress Zina ! she is just the best❤️, i would definitely come back because of her ❤️ loveeeee❤️
Our first time visiting, the manager Phil sat with us at the bar for a few minutes to talk about the difference between the German beers, it felt like I’ve known him for years! We ordered a few different beers, Swedish meatballs, a cucumber salad(DELICIOUS) and a HUGE pretzel (it was enough to feed 2)10/10 experience for a stormy day in NYC. Can’t wait to go back.
Great service fun staff. Definitely will visit again. Met a waistress name Gaby which made everyone feel like a friend. Mandee was in the bar which was fast and knows her beers. The manager ask questions to make sure everyone in our party was having a great time. He then told us to comeBack for the beer holding game and to try other beers they offer.
I’ve been going to Reichenbach for years and have always had a great experience. Great food, great beer, basically exactly what you’d expect! Recently it seems that they’ve made an effort to be a lot more connected to their customers which is nice as well. If you’re in the area I would definitely recommend hitting this spot, even if just for a good beer and a big ass pretzel!
We stopped in here from a long day of exploring and did not know what to expect. The interior is really nice and feels like a beer hall. The portions are really big and the food is amazing. We shared an order of their mini sausages and a pretzel, both were very good and flavorful. I chose the sausage mixed platter which comes with three different wursts, all were very good but I really enjoyed the veal sausages the most. The dish also came with sauerkraut, potato salad, and pickled cabbage which was amazing! My wife got the beef goulash and she absolutely loved it. They also have a great selection of beers, I highly recommend! We will be planning to head back tomorrow evening for a late night beer and pretzel after a show. We definitely will be telling others and about this place when they visit.
Jack is awesome really, really tried to help his get good beers and connect. Although being a bartender I didnt need the help I really appreciate the service coming from a hospitality perspective.. he was above and beyond. !
Jack was spectacular. Rare is the person who comes out from behind the bar to shake hands. Recommend and answer our questions about the food and drink menus. We watched him greet every patron like they were his personal friends. It wasnt fake. He genuinely loves what he does. And his attire was impeccable. Clean and very well put together. Thank you Jack!
First time walking here and I was given great customer service. The bartender John was amazing and very welcoming and even recommend beer based on my preference. He did not disappoint and I loved his choice that he gave me. I loved the atmosphere and I’ll be back soon with friends to try !
The vibe is really great. Jack was amazing, so nice and helpful. He really knows his beers! The food is OKAY. It’s there best German food we’ve had in NYC but that isn’t saying very much. Sauerbraten was pretty dry, so were the potato dumplings. The kasespatzle taste like starchy Mac n cheese. Hey, come here for Jack, good beers, and the good vibes.
Phil was an excellent server. He was prompt and happily answered all of our questions.
We went to this restaurant at 8PM and they had ran out of a good percentage of the main dishes, including any kind of schnitzel. The service was unsatisfactory, they took a long time to let us know the lack of options, at the same brought a side dish requested to pair the main dish that wasnt available and none of the drinks. We were so hungry that we shared the side dish while waiting for another food option. Finally one beer arrives and a soft drink after further reminders, which was all watered down because it was the bottom of the barrel of the soda machine. Then my friend is offered a canned soda to compensate the returned drink and we are charged for two soft drinks. Service delays by inexperienced waiter, large unavailability of main dishes at prime dinner time, a friendly manager that didnt resolve the unsatisfactory experience, all of this in an almost empty local seems unreal in NYC. Maybe just too touristy. If you go there planning to have a pretzel and a beer, then you should be fine. As a further comment, I found the accompaniments of the unavailable schnitzels a bit non-traditional. One doesnt expect french fries to be part of the dish, maybe that sells better.
This is not a great presentation of German restaurant. You will get traditional mediocre food.Atmosphere was odd, I feel bad for the girls working there if they make them wear such a short skirts you could tell they were uncomfortable and kept pulling them down while taking orders. It is just silly
The servers were extremely hospitable and knowledgeable .The atmosphere is wonderful and breathtaking. They have non-alcoholic options also vegan sausage.
Our server/bartenderJack was amazing! Welcomed us and served us right away. He had great suggestions for both food/drink. Atmosphere was very cozy and welcoming. We will be back!!
Great, authentic German food and bierhaus in the heart of NYC. Friendly and attentive service
Do yourself a favor when you are next in NYC and grab a space here. The best German experience I’ve had in the United States and on or above par of many places I’ve tried in Germany. Trust me on this one. Food is excellent. Beer at perfect temperature. What gives this five star is the staff. An oasis if you are smart enough to find it. Be smart.
If You want Authentic German food this is the place in NYC. My son and I are total foodies and our dinners were off the hook. I am not a huge fan of red cabbage but this was absolutely delicious. The staff from the hostess to bus staff to waitress were very friendly, helpful and professional. We will absolutely come back.
This place is really great. Classic beer hall vibe with staff dressed on theme. They have a great selection of beers available, and the food is TASTY. Come here hungry and ready to have a good time!
The manager Jack was a great bartender. After a large event a group of about 30 walked in half an hour before close and we were warmly welcomed. Food and drink orders were promptly taken and everyone left very happy. Food was great and the servers were attentive. Would definitely recommend this place for locals and tourists alike.
We had such a great new year’s eve thanks to Jahia, we’ve never tried german food before and she helped us with her recommendations, and of course, way too many beers! Great place to go with your friends and family
We stopped here for a quick drink and bite. Jack was awesome. He recommended a beer and a special cocktail for us that we both loved. He was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. You can also grab your drink and sit outside on their street level patio which had lots of space and was nicely separated from the street. The fries were ok.
We eat here every visit. This trip our obsession was the Jager Schnitzel, chicken. Enough to share and too much if you start with the fantastic Currywurst. The beers and ciders are excellent. The servers are kind and patient with demanding tourists. It’s a great place topeople watch, drink a few and eat well. We’ll be back
First, the bad: Not authentic German food and it took 30 minutes for it to arrived when the place only had about 10 people ordering food (see photos). My wife and sister-in-law are German and Ive live in Germany so thats my street cred review. The pretzel arrived with our meals when I ordered it as an appetizer, but it was warm and tasted great. The cheese that came with the pretzel was different than what you get in Germany and didnt match up well (I didnt like the hardness of the cheese). My Jager Schnitzel was overcooked and had way too many mushrooms on top (see photos). My wife refused to eat anymore of her Jager Schnitzel because of the lack of taste and also because she couldnt cut through it with her butter knife. My sister-in-law had the Black Forest cake and didnt like it because it tasted different in a bad way. Now the good: The Jager gravy was tasty as well as the fries (barely warm). The cucumber salad was good and even my wife liked it. This American/German restaurant experience in NYC forever lowered our expectations of eating out in German restaurants in America because we experience this type of disappointment more often than not. For two 1/2L beers, two meals and a cake dessert it cost me $113 with tip.
Love Oktoberfest. Had a fantastic time! Large steins, great service. Jack was great behind the bar!
The food is incredible and as a German I can say that this place has the best Schnitzel I’ve ever had!
Jack was great and engaging and was quick to serve our drinks
It’s a New York version of a German beer hall. It’s noisy - as beer halls are meant to be. Service was excellent. There’s a decent variety of sausages and beer. Not the best German food I have had but it was on the whole a fun experience
As a beer hall it has a lot to offer: good beer and a nice atmosphere in a family style hall. The food is just OK, with the spaetzle being a major disappointment - not sure exactly what it was! Order instead the large pretzel with very good German mustard and a beer.
The food was amazing! very german-like, and the service was outstanding thanks to Jahia, who helped us with the beer and cocktail choice
This is not a German spot at all. It is a German decorated tourist trap restaurant. I was recently in Germany and can tell you that the food has nothing German like aside from the German names and inspiration. They charge for soda refills (and a lot). Place is getting a lot of hype due to Instagram but it isn’t worth your time.
Large capacity for Beer enthusiasts, 80+people comfortable communal tables, bar stools, lively music, attentive staff, moderately priced, ample serving Bavarian style. Enjoy vegan wurst entree option served with potato salad, sauerkraut beet salad for $31 including tip.
The Bratfisch Schnitzel (German Fish & Chips) was the best Ive ever had. The way they seasoned and cooked the fish was so perfect I didnt do anything else to it beside drizzle the lemon provided. The fries were also perfect. I had the Peach Kitten and Das Awesome for drinks. I walked out happily buzzed.
Nice and roomy space that was perfect for a birthday dinner with friends. Great beer selection 🍺 the staff was very kind and welcoming which really added to everything! Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice spot to have a drink and food with friends and family!
My husband and I ate pork schnitzel which was dry and laid in our stomachs like lead after a couple of hours. Im still feeling sick this morning. We ordered spaetzle but whatever we got was not spaetzle. Ive eaten it many times and what we got served was not it.The strudel was soft and mushy. My husband did like his beer.I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I ever return to it.
Great selection of German beers, we had the pretzel and potato pancakes and they were both delicious. All the staff were great as well. We will be back.
The order included a giant Pretzel as a starter with a delicious home-made flavored butter. The pretzel was hot and soft but at times way too salty. As a main dish we ordered 2 Schnitzel Platten: Jäger Schnitzel (chicken) with a hunter mushroom sauce, and Paprika Rahm (chicken) with a creamy onion & bell pepper sauce. Both Schnitzels were very tasty however they lacked salt (we basically ended up using some of the salt that we removed from the pretzel). The restaurant is quite big. The inside temperature during the summer was a little too cold so we decided to get a table outside. Prices are quite high, but at least they’re generous with portions, which in the end we took home. Didn’t get the chance to try any beer, but I assume it’ll be a great experience. I really recommend this place to those who are hungry and are okay spending a little bit more than usual.
Our original waitress was not very responsive, but Maddy saved the day! She covered down on our table without hesitation when we were waiting a long time for more drinks. Thank you Maddy!
The management and staff here went out of their way (two nights in a row, I might add) to accomodate our large group returning from a 2-day concert. The boss treated our group to a round of drinks the first night, and they kept themselves open past their usual closing time the second night - they even put some of our favorite artists music on for us!
The best German beer restaurant on Manhattan!I’ve been to Biergartens in Europe and this place has the same atmosphere. The food is delicious and the portions are big enough.A 100% recommendation.
The food has German names but is not German. I had the “Nürnberger Bratwurst Platter”. The sausages were of the wrong type, they did not have the correct spices and were dried out. The Sauerkraut was barely edible, the red cabbage tasted musty (wherever it came from must be moldy) and the potato salad had no flavor. The sausage of the Currywurst was rubbery and the fries were cold. A tiny portion of sausage (less than one full sausage) for $17!The Obazda (poor attempt at beer cheese) was mostly cream cheese and not spiced correctly. The pretzel was huge and ok in flavor. The beer menu was weird. It felt like they took a few beers from the main Bavarian breweries and added a Warsteiner because it’s also German. A big miss on the types of beer that are usually drank. Like they took the leftover beer that isn’t popular and left out all of the best ones.If you’re German or like German food, don’t go there. You might find a beer that you like (served in the wrong glass). The whole place was just wrong. From the outfits of the staff to the decor and music and most of all the food. A bad attempt at delivering a German experience.
Fun place. Clean. Nice people.
Love this spot. Incredible German beers and food. Jack at the bar is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I only give 4 stars for atmosphere because the music is too loud and not good.
As a tourist, I came for a quick beer during a hot day. The place was empty and the host jumped right at me suggesting different options. Without consulting much he served me a huge glass of beer ( I finished 10% of the beer) and charged me $20. It’s not about the money as much but the way tricked me. I certainly felt scammed and mistreated.
I ate extra slow because I wanted to savor every bite! Had 2 of 3 Oktoberfest beers, both were excellent of course. Excellent service for lunch hopefully I can get the wife to come back for dinner.
Jack was very attentive and made us feel like we were back in Germany where we met. Jack even made me my very own drink! Feels like a traditional German Bier Haus.
We had a great experience here. We got the Jaeger Schnitzel and it was amazing. The mushroom gravy was perfect. The pickled cucumber and red onion side dish was a perfect complement to the schnitzel. We also got the sausage appetizer and that was amazing too! Our waitress was super nice and overall we would go back in a heartbeat. Great selection of beers as well.
Came here with a large group, was very accommodating to change the music playlist to the party. Food came fast, drinks were flavorful. Servers were extremely accommodating since we had came in with a walk in of 40+.
Amazing service, amazing beer! Bartender Jack was so friendly and personable and really made the experience!!! Highly recommend getting a beer here. Lots of quality German beer options on tap
Great place for high quality draft beers. Jack, my server, was incredibly friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend for a quick pint or two!
Jack was great and was extremely helpful with choosing a beer. Would recommend to anyone!
Ralu and Jack are incredible!! Authentic German food, the best in the US.... have fun great atmosphere
I am from Bavaria and always trying to find good authentic German food and beer. This place is the best I have been so far! Also the music was incredible, I felt like I am at home. Sauerkraut and Rotkohl was really good, the potato salad did not taste German though. I will for sure come back. We had a blast!
Reichenbach Hall is a fun place to unwind after work! Minutes away from both Penn and Grand Central, it is in a perfect location to stay if youre waiting for the LIRR / NJT.Additionally, I organized a happy hour for an alumni group here. All the prep work with Ana leading up to the event was painless, and she was truly a pleasure to work with. I found that she was responsive over email if I had questions and any additional requests. When I arrived early to set up, all the waitresses were aware of the event taking place, and the on-site manager, Dawan, was quick to introduce himself. His professionalism and efficiency was truly unmatched compared to other venues Ive worked with. Throughout the event, he was consistent about checking in to make sure things were running smoothly. The service was also phenomenal. All the servers were quick and efficient. Not to mention the beer selection was broad and the one that I had was fantastic. The food was solid too - the giant pretzel with the cheese and mustard is a MUST!Whether you decide to swing by for a drink or to host a large group event, I strongly recommend Reichenbach Hall.
Great food and outstanding beer selection. The atmosphere is 100% German beer hall.Joy
Absolutely loved the service here. a gem which is not common in midtown. Jack went above and beyond by crafting custom drinks for me and my friends 💗
Bring back the Schlenkerla urboch! It’s my favorite beer and before the pandemic this was the only place I could get it. At not everyone’s cup of tea, but it was a unique flavor to enjoy!Either way this is a fun bier hall to come and enjoy some food or a beer
Thank you John for taking care of us at la mega 97.9 radio station. Were here yearly for the dominican day parade
Fantastic place for a wonderful German beer. Jack is an amazing bar tender. Super friendly. Thank you Jack for making my New York experience perfect.
This place is absolutely extraordinary, the size, site, appearance and interior design, immediately captivate you as you enter.Giving the impression you have just climbed upto a magnificent mountain villa. And the food, of a variety of deliciously seasoned sausages, most especially the mixed Bratwurst plate, is incredibly delicious.Truly Scrumptious 🍺😋🍻💜💙💜And the waitress are absolutely living dreams come true.Cheers and enjoy to fullest.
The staff was absolutely wonderful accommodating a big group last minute, putting on requested music for us and getting us all dinner after our concert. Lovely food and beers, can’t recommend them enough!
Perfect German Beer house in NYC.I enjoyed last night with my friends. We had Mixed sausage dish, chicken schenichel and more.Pro : Serve German beer 1/2 Lt, 1 Litter. lots of differents style. authentic german style sausage. great place for large group.Con : Little slow service time.
Jack was a great bartender who knew his stuff about the beer selction. Prost!
Very neat atmosphere and decore. The staff was nice but not over friendly. We tried the veal wienerschnitzel with.mushroom gravy and a cup of chicken and dumpling soup. Both were very good
Love this place! Amazing selection of German biers and super friendly and expert service. I loved the ambiance/vibes. Super comfortable and authentic feeling (I used to live in Germany for 3 years). Live German accordion music on Sundays. 😀
Visiting from Texas and my boyfriend and absolutely loved this spot! Great drinks, service and food! Will absolutely come back when visiting Manhattan! Jack was AMAZING! Thanks for a great experience!
This place exudes happiness! Jack was a pleasure and made sure we were well taken care of all night!! Would come back and see Jack!
Fun! German vibes abound. Fun outdoor on-street covered Biergarten seating as well as plenty of themed indoor eating spots. Great food, tasty regional variations including curry bratwurst with fries. Loved every bit of it and even ate here twice in six days, which is remarkable if you consider how many food options there are in midtown Manhattan!
Amazing beer, delicious beer, and even better service. I have never had such an amazing first experience at a bar before. This place is truly unique and worth a visit.
This place has great food and beer. My kind of place. Now, add to that this place has Jack. Jack is the man! I wasn’t sure if this gentleman is the owner with the level of passion he brings or he’s just that dedicated to his role. Either way, Jack made us feel very welcome, he was very knowledgeable about the beers and he was invested in making sure we had the best experience. Hats off to Jack. We already make it a point to come visit each time we are in NYC, but now it’ll be to hopefully get the Jack experience again.
JACK transformed our dining and service experience! Bartender Jack exceeded all expectations, turning our FIRST NIGHT in NEW YORK into an unforgettable adventure! He truly is a gem and exemplifies what outstanding customer service should be all about! THANK YOU!
I was hoping for authentic schnitzel and spaetzle. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was a basic breaded pork cutlet with little seasoning and the spaetzle were floury, oily, and tasteless. Very disappointing.
Awesome place for personal or business dinner. Food is amazing and cooked perfect. Great place to bring the guys and gals. Will definitely return when in NYC!
Jack was great, food is solid, Spätzle is solid. If you’re in the area highly recommend
Lovely time at lunch, glad to grab the Hofbrau Oktoberfest while it’s around
We were very well looked after on a Friday night. The staff were friendly and fast, and the space itself is big by Manhattans standards.
Mr. Jack the bartender always so kind polite product knowledge and well listening to referrer the most suitable drinks or foods!! He is excellent I meet him for a while now and thank you for the fantastic services!!!
I dont write reviews normally, but this was bothering us sooo much that i have to give the heads up for following patrons. We ordered a couple Steins of beer and told the waitress to put our food order (Käsespätzle) to go that we could eat it at home. ... Let me tell you, this cheese spaetzle been waaay overcooked with no consistency, falling apart in your mouth, and the size of the portion was ridiculous for $17, besides the appeal in compare to other pictures.
The food was good and very generous. They were short staff and nobody was there to get our order or other requests.
I visited here with a teenager from Germany and she said some of the food tasted legitimate, and other dishes tasted nothing like what they do in Germany. However, the hall is lovely with a classic German beer hall design. It made the student feel at home. We visited late at night just before closing so the service appeared to be exhausted. Otherwise, we enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat here.
Our bar tender Jack was very friendly, attentive and professional. The restaurant’s atmosphere was great! The German music was definitely a good way to create the full German experience. Very good food as well.
Our server Jack was super knowledgeable about our beer choices, attentive and great service.
Outstanding atmosphere and great food and drinks. Could not be more happy with the experience!
Loved everythingSo glad we visited this place on our trip this time.Jayde was awesome. She made great suggestions and was so polite and attentive. Will definitely come again the next time I visit nyc!
Had a really nice time here. Great to have a casual place with great food and drink in midtown for large groups. The chicken schnitzel and mixed brats plate were really good and it comes with alllll the salads. The paprika sauce didnt have much flavor, could do without it. The kaesespaetzle was really good also with sausage, wow. Of course, there must be many steins of Pilsner, and thats an evening.
Friends and I enjoyed a nice relaxing lunch.
Food, menu, space, atmosphere, all good. Beer selection particularly excellent. Service, however, was amazingly awful. We were party of 5 who have all waited tables, and are very courteous customers, considerate of waitstaff, low maintenance, quick to decide. We struggled mightily to get menus, place order, order second round, even though the place was not very busy, and there seemed to be plenty of staff. Several servers stood around idle while we tried to get their attention. Several servers walked past tables full of empty plates and glasses without clearing nor taking orders. Mind-boggling. Also slightly expensive.
Really enjoyed this place. Good food and drink and the service was friendly and accomodating
I am in NYC for an extended stay. I have made this my Monday goto place. It has great German food and atmosphere. Most importantly the service here is great. Always met with a smile and checked on regularly to ensure my meal is going well.
Jack was awesome, good beer and food recs! Goulash + schwarzbier = winning combo!
Super nice and legit German Bar.We came here to see the UEFA Euro game of Germany. The atmosphere was amazing. Our servers Jack and Maria were very attentive and kind and took good care of us. Even during the stressfull time of the game as the bar was fully packed.I can only recomment the Bar and would always come back.
My favorite place to visit when I’m in NYC!!! Jack the bartender is the best! Very friendly and always in a good mood! Highly recommend
Great place! Yummy food and even better service
Jack is absolutely the best!!! Tailors your drink for you and what you like, definitely the vibe !! Great drinks great atmosphere! He’s a legend! The experience from the time you walk in the door is authentic and uplifting! Thank you jack!
Fantastic atmosphere, delicious brews, and friendly staff make this biergarten a must-visit! Perfect for relaxing with friends and enjoying top-notch craft beers. Highly recommended!
I was running errands across the street and when done, I just rushed to this wonderful place! My fourth visit and as I still had pending errands, I ordered a non-alcoholic drink, an appetizer (sausage and fries), and I ended sipping on a secret recipe mocktail with a great spicy kick prepared by Jack, I loved it!!! Thank you, Manager (I guess...) for greeting me and checking on me as you passed by! Kudos to you and to the rest of your team because you all are doing a great job and are always exceeding my expectations!!!
Jack really made the experience. He took care of us the entire time.On the food side, I’m German and the food has room for improvement. Naturally it’s not going to be as good as in Germany but the quality lacked. The pretzel is overpriced. The Käsespätzle lacked the creamy cheesy texture. The meatballs were too hard and the sauce with it lacked flavour.
The service was IMPECCABLE! Jack was so accommodating and informative! He answered all our questions and recommended some fantastic biers, dishes, and cocktails. We will definitely be back!
Go if you are very hungry or want large portions. Beer is pretty good (especially apple cider). Has many tvs showing sports.
Jack our barman was absolutely wonderful, gives us a tasting of beer we discussed. Very happy customers I highly recommend!
This place was amazing. Excellent service there. Jack was very hospitable. The drinks there were great!
Stepped in a few moments before noon, and they were open and already serving. God love the punctuality of Alemanians. Situated mid block between 5th & 6th Avenue. Appropriately playing German music classic and current, but swings to Rick Springfield Jesses Girl & The Stones, etc. As expected, true to Bavarian beer hall, large open area, wooden tables and a few 2-tops. Long dark formica bar with attentive bartender. Went for St. Pauli wurtstwich & quite satisfied with promptness of delivery plus quality. Of course I had to go for the potato salad (Germans use vinegar instead of mayo) Nice and cold with right mix of spices and vinegar. Surprisingly no Weihenstephan on tap or served ever nor Hofbrau either. Franziskaner, Spaten & Optimator, KonigLudwig (hidden gem) Bitberger, Kostritzer, Veltins Schofferhofer on tap. Best was Berediktiner which was new to my beer pedigree. Lots of wheats, a schwarz and lagers. Solid joint and reasonable prices for midtown. Jawohl!
Jack is an amazing bartender! He not only is great at his job but listens to to ur every needs and maybe is secretly a therapist!! Highly recommend coming here! Food is always delicious. Have come here for many many years and each and every time it is never a disappointment- well actually only because I actually can’t sleep here and have to go to work!!! lol But you get the drift, you’ll be sorry if you don’t come and visit this awesome place and eat the delicious food and have amazing conversation!!!!
We havent try the food, only had the beers. They have a good beer selection. It is good for big groups too.
Cool open place. Waitress are helpful if you need to understand what the food is as it is in German (just the names). If you need to order vegetarian or gluten free, they have separate menus, you just have to ask
Great, friendly service! Fantastic drinks. Super clean and spacious. A perfect spot to stop into for a bit of refuge on a hot NYC summer day!
The service and food were fantastic. Jack was friendly and made sure I had everything I needed. I look forward to coming back soon.
Madison took good care of us! She was extremely nice and gave us samples of beer to make sure we would like her recommendations. Highly recommend coming to this bar!
The best service in NYC, Jack is awesome! Love him! He knew what drinks to suggest, he was sincerely Friendly and very funny! We will be back because of Jack!
Ordered kasespetzle with kielbasa. My kielbasa was burnt. Not crispy or merely well done, burnt. The manager took it off the bill, but why even serve it? Our waitress was quite unpleasant. I dont expect you to pretend to be happy to be providing your services, but at least not being openly hostile would be appreciated. Finally, the waitresses were scantily clad, which has nothing to do with a German beer hall, so I didnt really understand that. My daughter called it German Hooters. I went two stars because the beer was good.
Always have a good time at the Hall. This is my go to place before concerts at MSG. The bartenders and wait staff are always friendly and attentive.
Great place, we sat at around 18:00 pmWe ordered a beer i think it was a bit expensive, but the atmosphere is great and service is really good and kind full
Always love it here! Jack was very kind and helped us with our beer choices. :)
Maria was an amazing bartender! Super sweet and attentive. They have some of the best German food and beer in ny 🥰
Jack was very helpful, full of energy and left me with a sense of desire to return. I’d quickly find myself back at the bar any time Jack is tending!
Excellent all around. We felt right at home (husband is German) give it a visit for a jolly time in nyc!
Jack was an amazing bartender! Thank you so much for taking care of me and my brother will be coming back for his services again!
Everyone was amazing! Jack was our bartender and server, he was so nice and helpful. I came on my first night to new york and had to come see jack and get one last boot of beer before i leave nyc. Will be back soon!
There the more delicious beers and selective variety, the costumers and the bar man are the best People in manhatan, love to come back soon.
Excellent authentic German Bierhaus - go for the schnitzel, its so gooood! Ask for Jack - supreme service!
German pub with several screens for watching sports. The food is extremely good and there are several beer options.
Jack was awesome. Good beer, delicious food, and an unbeatable atmosphere.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Reichenbach Hall NYC, and I must say, it was a truly memorable experience! The star of our evening was Zina, our waiter, who provided exceptional service with a smile and an infectious energy that made our night even more enjoyable.🍺🍻 Beer Selection: The beer at Reichenbach Hall is phenomenal. With an extensive selection of authentic German brews, its a paradise for beer lovers. Each pint was perfectly chilled and bursting with flavor. The Hofbräu Original and the dark, malty Dunkel were particular standouts.🍽️ Food: The food was nothing short of extraordinary. The highlight of our meal was definitely the Kielbasa plate. The sausage was grilled to perfection, with a smoky flavor that was complemented by the rich, savory sides. The plate also included tangy sauerkraut and creamy mashed potatoes, making it a hearty and satisfying dish.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: Zina was an absolute gem! She was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her enthusiasm and professionalism truly enhanced our dining experience.Overall, Reichenbach Hall is a fantastic spot for great food, excellent beer, and top-notch service. Thank you, Zina, for making our evening so special. Well definitely be back!
The food and everything was great. They snuck in a credit card fee without adequate warning, though. I would have paid cash if I knew that.Update: I already knew what I wanted to eat and only looked at the drink menu. After looking at online photos, I saw that it did show a surcharge on the meal portion of the menu. However, most people dont look at the very bottom of a menu.Under Mastercards terms and conditions, both a percent and dollar amount must be stated clearly before the card is charged. As a merchant, I know the surcharge rules.
Great service at the bar. Great german beer. Accordion player was great. Quick service..
Jack was great! The girls were fantastic! Excellent advice on food and drinks!!
We come here whenever we are in the area, always a great experience! Jack is a great bartender and great guy to talk to! Will always come back 🍻
This place is in good hands with the manager Dawa! The place has amazing service and guests are taken well care of. Celebrated a birthday here and the atmosphere was just a vibe. The servers were attentive and service was prompt. The beers are served chilled and pretzels are to die for. Will visit again!
They have a great selection of German beer but thats were it ends. The food is overpriced garbage. Not authentic German food at all.
Jack was absolutely incredible! Stopped by for a quick drink with my parents for my birthday and he pulled out the stops!!! Thank you so much Jack
Food and service were over priced and mediocre at best. At that is being nice. I am German. The Bierhaus at 712 3rd Ave is the place to go. That is German cuisine and tastes authentic.
Came here on a Sunday during Oktoberfest weekend and was surprised that it wasn’t that busy - decent selections of beers but the pricing between a pint and 0.5l feels off. Staff are helpful but seem very busy.
The food and staff are top notch. The food is always very fresh and portions are ample. Wife just adores the chicken schnitzel and I have the brats platter but have tried many other things from the menu. Had a wonderful fresh chicken noodle soup with some “glow wine”. I won’t even try to put the authentic names. Come on in and have one of their huge hot pretzels or some apple strudel and you won’t go wrong! Thanks Jack for another great meal and friendly atmosphere!
Nice place, good atmosphere, good waiter service, everyone is very attentive. The beer is tasty, fresh, and the food portions are large. the price corresponds to the serving sizes.
Nice food. But the service wasnt that great. Nice to come here and have beer after roaming around Times Square.
Good German beer and great German food. The atmosphere is perfect for a beer house.
Watched the Euros here and it was a fun time, big space, big drinks, big pretzels. I also enjoyed doing Puzzled Pint events here back in the day. Good times
Good beer and a good assortment of German food in your standard German style hall. I only had the Cherrywurst as far as food goes and it was pretty good. If we had come for a meal there looked to be a great selection of German food available. The staff was great.
Great experience, very nice bar with great service!!! Appetizers were great from warm pretzels to chicken and sausages.
Solid German beer selection and high quality German food, although I think they could benefit from a slightly more extensive selection of beers (bottle or tap). Got there in the early afternoon when it was pretty quiet and it was nice to see the transition to a much livelier crowd in the evening. Will definitely go back.
This bar/restaurant has the best selection of beers and the foods great. Also this places cleanliness is up to par and very spotless and organized. The manager Phil was very helpful and nice .
Jack was very nice and attentive to my brother and I. Took his time explaining different drinks to me. Would recommend establishment to friends
The bartender on duty and the servers were the kindest human i’ve encountered in NYC in a hot minute. The bartender was funny and attentive and our server went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I would 10/10 recommendation folks to come here. the beer selection was top tier as well. When I come back in the summer I will 100% check out the food but tonight my friend and I enjoyed some beers and had a swell time. Come check this place out for sure!
$23 for giant German beer is the truth. This is Oktoberfest every day in a bar. Pretzel was good.
You‘ll feel like in Germany (or Austria) here. The beer was just like back home. Service unfortunately lax and unmotivated. Best to visit in a large group. Prices are like you‘d exoect from Manhattan. 3x 0,5 l beer and 1 order of fries $ 40.
Jack was awesome, was very attentive and helpful in food and beer choices. Would definitely come back again when I’m in town. Thanks.
My honest rating is 4.5 stars. I just rounded up.Es ist nicht schlecht, echt nicht.I came for lunch service and there were barely any goers. Only three servers were really active, and two of them were busy after the mail came, too busy to get me a check. But the staff are still friendly when it gets down to ordering, and they are happy to tell you what is in their food. The overall decor is pretty great for emulating a European beer hall. Thered a lot of ventilation so it doesnt get too hot, and there are nice German songs playing. As for food, I came for lunch and got the bratwurst platter. It didnt come steaming hot, which is fine. The sausage was good, had good skin, and a bit of color (though I wished it was a bit moreso). Rotkohl was good and less sauer than the Sauerkraut, which was a nice break, because the Kartoffelsalat was also a little sour. But that is, in the end, quintessential to how the food works, I guess. You have starches and heavy meats that are broken up by sour bites. And it worked just fine.
Good food, good beer, awesome staff !! I would recommend 😊
Dawa, Ralu, and Gabriela are amazing hosts and give us the best service. They remember the regulars by name and always have a huge smile. The outstanding service is the primary reason we come here twice a week!
We loved Jack. He had great energy and was very attentive. I loved the place
The service is great! Jack asked what I was in the mood for and the beer profile I typically like, and he recommended the perfect beer. I can’t wait to go back when I have more time!
This was my first visit and the bartender, Jack was very welcoming and hospitable. He’s very knowledgeable with the selection of beers and often checks in with his customers.I recommend checking this place out!
Loved the location, service, and beer! Jack was our bartender - amazing service and so attentive. Came last year, this year, and our next NYC trip!
I just ran in here to get a to-go salad and take it back to my hotel room to keep working. Front desk employee was so sweet and got my salad going for me. Bartender was hilarious and kept pouring me beer tastes while I was waiting for my salad. If theyre this much fun for to-go orders, Ill be back for dinner!
Good place for a happy hour, although it can get crowded and the music is usually very loud. Always fun to try a shot ski! They also have a massive pretzel that’s great for a group — make sure to get it with beer cheese.
Jack gave the best customer experience. He was fast & efficient to get everyone’s order. Especially during a busy soccer game. I will definitely come back when Jack is bartending. I enjoyed his energy & his service
Stopped in for a few drinks with shipmates and Jack was a great bartender. Attentive and friendly.
Tough chicken, the Spaten lager was stale, and their glühwein is warm apple cider
Great service, great pretzel, great atmosphere. Def recommend
Authentic Deutsche cuisine and beers. Their selection of beers was amazing, the schnitzel was delicious. Marie provided great service. Strongly recommended.
Service was wonderful, attentive and personable, everything you would want from a German spot. Jahia was great.
I had a great time at this German bar! The beer selection was amazing, but what really made my experience stand out was the fantastic service from Melissa. She was super attentive, friendly, and answered all our questions. Im definitely coming back and hoping to have her as our server again!
Cool place cool 👌 beer - beer place it is !
Jack was an amazing bartender, super friendly and knowledgable with the beers served! Well definitely be coming back
Great service! We had amazing beer and a great time chatting with our wonderful bartender.
Absolutely fun beer hall, just dont come here for conversation, unless you want to have no voice the next day. Loud music, everything loud. Gorgeous, abundant food. Huge variety of draft beers. Excellent, attentive service!
Stopped by here after running the NYC Marathon!Glad I did cause I love German bars and beer.I had Spaten beer and the bartender was nice. I will be back for more beer and food!Danke!
Cant say enough about Moe and his staff. Here on vacation, caught in kind of a bind and they went about and beyond. The service was good. They check on you but not so much that it becomes annoying. Wife and I had a couple of beers (I had the oktobrefest and she the grapefruit) both were good but the oktobrefest finished just ahead. We had currywurst (amazing) and Jager schnitzel. Both meals were great. Honestly, they made us feel at home and valued. Not much we could have asked for. Prost!
Thank you very much for a great experience!
Absolutely love this place! Great beer and good german food. I recommend getting the bratwurst sampler in order to try all the styles. I usually just get a stein but we felt up to the challenge of going for the full boot which was great! Great time with friends especially if you all try the shotski! Can’t wait to go back!
What else is there to say! Great beer, food and staff!!!
Really decent selection of traditional german beer and service was immaculate. Zena was so helpful and welcoming.
Maria was fantastic !!! Made our first time here great. Explained the menu and guided us to the best choices !!!! Great bar great food great staff!!! Ask for Maria!!
Jack behind the stick was on top of it: noting any close-to-empty glasses and was watchful of floor activity as well as incoming at the door.Knowledgeable on beer selection and helpful with selections.
Nice place. Good atmosphere. Great beer selection. I’ll be back!
I had a great time at Reichenbach Hall with my family. Food and beer were good, phil made sure we had everything we needed 👍
Jack was an awesome server and super informative on the beer selection and custom blends!
Super cool spot right across from The Draper Hotel. We had a few drinks and a warm pretzel. Although a few taps were closed or out of service, I’d go back.
Very friendly atmosphere, excellent service and good food...Dont forget the big beer
Eva was such an amazing server. She was attentive and a wonderful representative of your establishment. She was attentive and was always asking us if everything was ok. I would highly recommend this place because of Eva.
Good beer, Okay food, great Octoberfest atmosphere!
Delicious food, great beer options, and a real German atmosphere!Loved the giant pretzel, and the cider was very good!
Was looking for a nice to place to sit and have a bier and some good food. First time here and was pleasantly surprised. Great German beer and food selection. Staff was super friendly and attentive. Curious of how the night scene looks as we came for early dinner.
Loved coming here, staff was super friendly and helpful and the food and drinks were amazing.don’t know much about german food so our waitress Amy was a great help!would come again
