Five Iron Golf

I have been an original seasonal member from 2017. Since the beginning the staff and management have alway been friendly , processional, and accommodating. Starting from my main man Jeff to now to my main lady Grace. Since Grace took over as manager, she has enhanced on great customer relations with current members as well as walk ins. Any problems or questions are alway handled efficiently and promptly. I highly recommend five iron for all your golf needs. Great place to keep your swing in tune or just to hit some balls with friends.

Very nice staff, great spot for a team-building get together or just some friends. $60/hour per bay, and you can have up to 4 people per bay. Just make sure you look for the address and not a storefront... It is in a nondescript building on 5th Ave.

Bay 4’s back screen is broken so balls constantly were lost under it. Bay 4 also had a very old software compared to other bays which was materially worse. Still had to pay same price as other bays. Service was nice but would not return to this location.

This is my 5th+ winter being a member at NYC Flatiron location. While I love the product model and the staff a number of the hitting bay need a deep clean and the hitting turf replaced. You can’t let basic get worn out and run down. This simple stuff just completely undermines what’s great about 5 Iron!

Ben gave incredibly helpful and detailed feedback as well as space to work out how to implement the changes yourself. Would recommend for anyone looking to shake the rust off and improve your game!

I work nearby the Flatiron location and I recentlystopped by after work. Five Iron Golf is a truly unique concept, it provides a virtual golf experience that actually lets you work on your game. Not only that but they also have a great bar and restaurant to boot, pay Alex and Savannah at their Flatiron location a visit, very hospitable environment with excellent customer service. I will be visiting again!

I recently had the absolute pleasure of visiting Five Iron Golf in Flatiron and highly recommend it to anyone for a truly hole in one experience! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff and John truly goes above and beyond to make your visit exceptional. John P. is an absolute gem and made me feel comfortable as I am new to the game but I noticed he treated seasoned players with the same great customer service. Food and drinks are a great price during happy hour and the facility is clean. Also, if you are looking for golf lessons Sean is the best, book him today, you wont regret it!

From the first time I played at this first NYC 5 iron location in Flatiron I was hooked. Right away, felt like this was the place for me… a place I could come to hang out, get some practice swings in and enjoy good drinks and good food. Over the years I keep coming back to this and other 5 iron locations because of the great service, fun atmosphere and friendly staff- especially John P. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and is beyond nice, organized, super helpful and welcoming. He is excellent. He and 5 iron have definitely been responsible for improving my game!!

Had such a great experience with my first lesson at 5 iron! Tom was a great instructor and John at the front desk was so helpful and welcoming. I love the vibe here and will definitely come back!

I have been taking lessons with John Gorman at the Upper East location and it has been excellent. I just picked up golf in my upper 30’s and was so nervous! John has been patient and after only a few lessons it is incredible the improvement I have seen! The overall location is awesome. Friendly staff, super clean and always on time !

By far my favorite 5i location, all due to the awesome staff here. Special shout outs to Nick, Grace, Savannah, Darius, and Jeff. Also want to mention the amazing coaches Lois, James and Tom. Thanks for making this place rule.

This is a very cool place! The staff is friendly and the drinks are very good. They have many different clubs available and were even able to repair one on the spot at our request. You are allowed to bring your own clubs as well.The simulators were very cool, but not perfect. Sometimes a hard hit would not register at all, and there were occasional delays from hitting the ball and seeing the information on the screen. I think this depends on which pay you’re in, as some of them have different simulation hardware than others.All in all, this was a great place to spend a couple hours. I would recommend this for large or small groups looking to have some drinks and hit some balls.

Mark, Jack and ethan provided incredible service.The software was a little wonky and crashed on us once. Never had an issue at another location. Think flatiron needs to upgrade to upgrade to track man.

Had a work event at Five Iron in Flatiron and had a wonderful experience. Whether it was setting us up with a game on the simulator or pouring us a great drink from the many options, Nick took great care of us. Im sure we will be back!

John was fantastic - we got in first slot and he helped set up our simulator and was great throughout the entire experience! Highly recommend!

Excellent venue and pricing! Hosted a family/student function of 30 people and the process to secure was great, Joey was a total professional and helped carve out a great experience - the on site staff was excellent as well - this is our 3rd year and will return!

Came here for a birthday event and the staff was so friendly, food was great, and drinks were delicious and the bartender was so friendly! The manager Grace was also lovely and tended to our every need. Highly recommend this place for a fun time!

They refused to sell me a glove, however the space seemed nice. I would have love to play there if my experience with the staff wasn’t so disappointing…

Tim, Matt and the entire 5i staff are great. Matt took the time to fit me with a new set of irons and driver - truly made me a feel like a tour pro. Not only can he properly fit you, he is a certified teaching professional. Also, Tim and the staff at 5i are welcoming and provide a clean, value first experience. Track man simulators (my first time hitting on one!) is awesome. I find myself there weekly working on my game. They also can do any maintenance your clubs might need with grips, lengths, Lie loft etc. I am a big fan of 5i!

Excellent space, tons of simulators, two bars, amazing staff! I had a promo for a free hour rental. Staff was extremely helpful in getting us set up, getting us rental clubs (great rental options) and stopping in to check on us a few times to make sure everything was going well. Cannot wait to come back again next time I am in NYC, this place is fantastic.

I use the Flatiron location of 5 Iron golf in NYC. I visit NYC often and 5 Iron lets me stay tuned in while not being able to play during travel. The staff is always friendly and helpful. And the equipment is in good shape.

I have taken 5 lessons at 5i Baltimore. The senior Pro is Matt and he is really excellent. I have had lessons all over the place and he is tops, no doubt. The facilities and equipment are very good. It is next to Little Italy so it is centrally located. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the whole experience.

One of the best indoor golfing experiences I’ve ever had. If not the best. A cozy nook with a highly knowledgeable and attentive staff that leads to nothing but great customer service! Their vision is has a nice vibe to it and their plans for expansion is superb! I went for a full-bag club fitting via Club Champion and was surprised with the layout because to get to their floor was a bit suspect—hope that won’t fool you as it did to me. A pleasant surprise awaits you on their floor! A lounge area packed with club fitting and other accessories make it an unbelievable experience! They have a great concept where you can practice before work, and you can hit their onsite showers and be on your merry way. Great place for groups who want to arrange parties, etc! Truly a nice concept and location! I highly recommend 5 Iron.

The facility is great and the membership is a really good value. Ive used it to regularly practice and play a round or two before work in the mornings. Its also been fun to invite friends to join for free during their off-peak hours. More than that their customer service is incredible.

We absolutely had the best time at this location. Miguel checked us in and he was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Molly and Ethan were on our floor and they were the absolute best service we’ve had in manhattan. Molly was extremely welcoming and made the environment amazing, she was absolutely wonderful and I hope my service on the rest of my trip is as half as good as hers

Very friendly staff, and helpful, but the facilities don’t compare to some of their flagship locations in NY - such as Herald SQ.

Been coming here for the golf simulator leagues for the past 4 seasons and couldn’t be more pleased. Nick and Grace and the rest of the five iron crew has been absolutely phenomenal. I’ll continue to come here as long as I’m in nyc

This place is always a great time. Super accurate sims and great food/drink selection.I am a mid-handicapper and had my first lesson with one of the senior PGA pros, Tom Sutton. My game changed immediately! He was able to make some major changes to my swing in only one 1-hour session. After that lesson and a range practice session, I went out and shot my second lowest score ever (on a difficult course).Ill definitely be back for more lessons and to play for fun with friends.

I’ve had a great experience as a member here. Especially with member walk-in, it’s been super easy to get sim times. There are almost always member times available in the morning and more often than not there’s space for a walk-in in the evening. Staff has always been super friendly and communicative about when there’s availability for walk-ins. If you wanted to go everyday you’d be able to. They have high quality rental clubs and most sims are trackmans. Definitely worth the price.

This place has been a real godsend for me. The membership option allows me to practice every day just a few blocks from my office, keep my clubs there, and really hone my game with the Trackman data and two-camera system. The pros are always walking around with a kind word, and the staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the game. Unlike many places in NYC, everything about this place is inviting. The food and drinks are good too. It’s so good, I’m hesitant to even write a review because I want to keep it a secret! But also I know it’s the best option for people to practice and play in the city. Trackman bays have something like over 300 courses to choose from if you want to play, and it allows you to play courses you may never get the chance to travel to, so you can check them off your bucket list one by one. There’s always an open time when I need it. I cannot recommend this place enough, just don’t take my time slots early morning weekdays okay? ;-)

This place is the real deal. Their golf pros provide very helpful tips and the overall ambience of the place gives of a very relaxing feel. I just started golfing again and definitely thinking about taking a lessons as one of their pros gave me some minor tips and had me hitting much straighter than I was in a few mins. I’ll probably spend a few Saturdays or Sundays here playing golf and watching football. Definitely a unique experience with great customer service! Check it out if you enjoy golfing.

The staff was friendly and more than helpful. The simulation bays are great, each one is located conveniently next to a bar. Every current driver and shaft combination is available to demo which is always an added bonus.

Not an experienced golfer but went to Five Iron for a friends birthday and had a lot of fun! Ping pong! Great simulators! Plenty of equipment, including womens clubs! Experienced golf instructors willing to let novices play on the simulators and provide advice. Mike was really great with our whole group. Definitely considering lessons here and would recommend to anyone for lessons or an event!

We had our holiday party at Jareds venue. Amazing service! Really cool location and excellent instructors to guide you. Would highly recommend for any social gathering or for a quick round of golf.

I took my first Five Iron golf lesson with Jacinth Thomas. As a beginner to golf, I’ve taken a few golf lessons in the past at other places / with other instructors, and no one else has been able to so clearly teach the core fundamentals like Jacinth has. With Jacinth’s tailored-to-me instruction, I know I’m building the basics correctly and at a digestible pace (he makes sure to not overwhelm you with too many takeaways each lesson). His use of the simulator technology is seamless as he effortlessly and quickly shows the concepts he’s explaining with helpful real life examples and visuals. As a woman of color, golf can be an intimidating sport to break into. But Jacinth makes it so easy and, most importantly, fun and approachable! After seeing my progress in just one lesson, I feel a renewed excitement to continue building my skill set (a motivation I don’t always feel after a golf lesson). I look forward to taking many more golf lessons with Jacinth!

Both the simulation system and the order/control system are super old and slow, hard to use, not smooth at all, not good experience.

I’ve began taking golf lessons with Jacinth Thomas and nothing has been more impactful towards my game. After taking various lessons at golf spots around the city, Jacinth truly stands out.His recent experience from playing with—as well as against—top talent in the sport during his time at a top Divison I program translates into his teachings. With this, his knowledge of swing mechanics and drills to practice with are what you would expect at the pro level.Additionally, his enthusiasm for watching your swing improve is infectious. I’m just happy I get to learn from him before he becomes a swing coach on the PGA tour. I would recommend Jacinth Thomas to all golfers at any skill level looking to improve.

Staff here is amazing. Molly, Mark, Ethan and many others have all been great since I started my membership and makes it worth every penny. Best 5i staff in the game at this location

I took my two sons (17 and 13) to 5 iron Herald Square for a club fitting for my son (driver) and for an hour of play on the simulator. It was amazing. The fitting lab technology is state of the art and the choices of shafts and club heads seems limitless. The pro we had was awesome (James Cunha). He was so patient and was very good at being able to extract the info from my son about feel and preference which doesnt show up on the trackman stats, but is critical in determine the perfect club fit. After the fitting we stayed for an hour to play 6 holes at Casa de Campo. I didnt make a reservation for the simulator, but we got lucky that a bay opened up. Definitely make a reservation in advance. While we waited my boys made full use of the Pop-a-shot and shuffleboard table. The place is heaven for kids and adults alike. Cant wait to go back.

Tom Sutter is a great teacher. I recommend him highly. And Five Iron is a good place to practice. Good machines especially if you get a track man stall.

Great spot to come with some friends to drink some beers and hit balls or just by yourself to get some quality practice in. Staff is super attentive and dialed in to make the experience phenomenal!!

Tristan was an ABSOLUTE GENIUS, I truly did not expect to learn nearly as much as I did! This was my first lesson ever, and I didn’t expect much but Tristan completely transformed my confidence within the first 5 minutes of my lesson. He was so encouraging and we slowly built up my skills and I ended up doing so much better than I ever imagined! I am coming back every week for lessons with him because I’m so excited about my new hobby! He was the best and my friend and I just loved him!

Not sure the name of the person who was manning the desk. But he did a great job. Helped us out by getting us set up on a track man downstairs so my daughter could play games, even though this required him to run up and down the stairs to check on us. Really helpful!

I’ve been to several of the Five Iron locations. This one is a little older than the some of the others but the manager Savannah keeps me coming back. I often hold events and meetings here with some of my clients and when Savannah is working, she always seems to make every person in the room feel very special. The last group event I had was very complicated and I know probably very annoying for the staff but she was patient and hospitable throughout the whole night and I very much appreciated having her there.

Five Iron is the best golfing location Ive been to in the city! Everything from lessons to events, this place is doing things right!

First time having an “actual lesson” and Tom was great. As an extremely beginner golfer, Tom helps you feel comfortable with playing. No shot is bad, confidence is what he helps build with adjustments to form and ad hoc exercises, automatically translating it to a better swing. The simulator shows all your stats that improve drastically with Tom’s coaching. Went from missing the ball a lot to hitting it pretty consistently and trying out different clubs all the way to a driver.Had a wonderful experience here and highly recommend.

Great staff members, great facility with top equipments. Perfect on a rainy day or as a practice round. Very conveniently located, best option to keep your golf in shape during the winter.

Walked in and enjoyed 2 hours of indoor simulation golf with some friends. Honestly the friendliest staff I have experienced in NYC during my visit. Tall dude named John was very attentive and friendly.

The Trackman technology here is great. Shows you exactly which parts of your swing need fixing, and can also display side-by-side the swing of a pro from the same camera angle, so that you can compare and adjust accordingly. Would recommend to anyone trying to improve their golf game or learn how to play.

Five iron NYC is great across the board - the space, the technology, the food, the coachers (e.g. Tim) and the best part is the super friendly management and staff. They are always there to help. A big shout out to the manager at flatiron Jeff and staff John P. John P. went above and beyond to build a community of golf enthusiasts. Well done!

5i Flatiron is the perfect place for this novice golf player to practice her swing despite working late hours. The sims are education and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful — especially Eden, Nick and Tristen. Highly recommend!

I visited this location on the 4th floor twice, and both times I noticed that the staff seemed a bit spaced out and frequently on their phones. When I asked them questions, their responses were lacking effort and enthusiasm. This experience left me feeling less satisfied with the service provided. Additionally the bays felt very cheap and not forgiving.If you don’t mind the traveling a bit further better off go to the LIC location difference is night and day.

After playing golf at Fidi and then at LIC location, I would rank this the 2nd. Best would be LIC and the worst would be Fidi.This location had nice staff. Helpful and friendly.The simulator was working perfectly and the screens were functioning well.In terms of space for your swing, it was similar to Fidi. I would’ve preferred the larger space you get at LIC, more breathing room definitely helps.No significant issues in this location. Overall happy with the location.

I recently took up golfing during quarantine and my boyfriend introduced me to five iron golf to practice and hang out!You can make a reservation online and usually it is $65 during peak times. The Trackman technology in the Herald Square location is great to visualize your swings. You can also get food and drinks here which is a plus.I always have a great time when coming!

5 Iron is a great facility and they have the best Head of Instruction there in Steve Keogh !! Steve is just an Amazing guy who has changed my golf swing and attitude based upon his amazing teaching lessons. Steve evaluates your swing and your physical abilities and marries the two to create a workable and repeatable golf swing...Steve is the best Golf teacher I have ever worked with beside being a fabulous guy...I highly recommend Steve if you want to really change your golf game for the better !!!

Great experience at 5i, the staff was super friendly and accommodating and helped out a lot with the simulators. I would suggest 5i not only for those who already enjoy golf, but also for beginners or those just looking for a fun night out, the staff was helpful and not pushy at all when it came to timing. Overall a five star experience

Place is amazing, great solution to the person living in the city who wants/needs to get out and golf more. Awesome selection of clubs, clean facility and great service. Very safe environment during Covid, people are masked up and socially distanced. Allie and Brendan are both professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Food and drink service just came back and it makes for an even better experience. Cant wait to get back there.

I have found my new home. These guys are the best. Had a great lesson with Dan yesterday. Prices are reasonable and the place is super relaxed. Feels like a club and Im joining next week. Cheers!

Had a decent time here with friends. But BE WARNED, you are not expected to tip on the Simulator rental, which will be most of your bill. Youre just supposed to tip on any drinks or food you get. I ended up tipping 45% by accident and it really soured the whole experience. I only found out after I paid.And to be honest, the service was average, the bar was not always tended and the person setting up the Sim didnt even bother to enter our names so we were left with Player 1, 2, 3 etc which got rather annoying to keep track of.

Five Iron really is a great place. Friendly staff with great service.. top of the line simulators in a fun environment. Full bar with a good food menu, tons of TVs.. nothing more you can ask for. A must hit for any NYC golfer.

Ian and staff are great. Always good service and good food. I did the league here and everyone on the team loved it. Highly recommend even if you’re not into golf. Lots of other cool games you can play there like carnival games, soccer, etc.

5 Iron Golf is the best place for indoor golfing in the city. The simulators and equipment are excellent. Its also a great spot to gather up some buddies and engage in some friendly competition. Mike was very knowledgeable and gave me some pointers that have significantly improved my game. I will definitely be back!

Exceptional experience and very cool venue! Solid beer selection and the food menu was top notch. The place has the feel of a start up with a low key minimalistic atmosphere, yet also has high tech simulators and knowledgeable staff. Five Iron seems like a great place for both post work happy hour drinks and getting much needed practice/reps for more serious golfers.

Learned my entire golf game from Susan at 5i. Highly recommend Susan as an instructor for all levels. Five Iron facilities are also brand new and really nice. I especially like the video recording during lessons to watch back replays.

Best place to learn to golf in MD. Worked with Matt Decker. Corrected a couple aspects of swing and made a huge difference in results and consistency. Would highly recommend 5 iron for everything from social golf, private lessons and club fitting. Will be back.

This place is a lot of fun. Indoors and has amazing A/C. Even if you don’t like golf it’s a lot of fun. Plenty of TV’s and a full bar and menu to watch any game on TV! I’ll be back next time I’m in town! Perfect spot for business meetings and group fun!

Super Fun, great atmosphere, super friendly staff. The golf simulator is legit, its not Wii Golf - the tech is very perceptive and helps you adjust your swing, you can see the results of adjustments. Will be coming back and recommending to friends

Booked 30 minutes for first time this morning. Great clean facility. Had never used simulators before and got a quick and easy explanation. Didnt bring my own clubs and was offered a great set- and actually had a choice of shaft type and flex. I will be back.

This was my first time visiting Five Iron Golf and it was excellent. The staff were friendly and Brian made my experience great by explaining all the features. The food was good as well

Perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday. Football and golf. Play Bandon Dunes while watching pro football. Short of actually being on the course can’t get much better in bad weather. Thanks 5 Iron.

Been around five times now, each time has been an excellent experience. The last time we had technical issues and the guys at 5 Iron couldnt have been more helpful and accommodating. A really fun way to spend a weekend afternoon

It was great! A day where weather was a concern so we switched at the last minute from 18 holes outdoor to indoor golf. Great system, great service by Kassie (sp?), good drinks and food. Played 18 holes in 3 hours with a foursome (and autoputt!) Definitely recommend highly!

I had a great experience. Matt, my instructor, corrected the issues I had. I look forward to repeat visits and will bring a few of my pro golf buddies here!

First review Ive ever written. The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful, the golfing and atmosphere is perfect. Time flies in here, book an hour more than you think you want.

Really fun place to hang out and hit some golf balls. Way better then Chelsea piers.

JAMES is an amazing instructor! He picked up almost immediately that I was ambidextrous and leading too much with my right arm. Im a lefty in some sports but a righty for writing & eating. By adjusting my grip & placing more emphasis on my left arm I increased my distance & straightened a lot of my chicken wing. No other instructor saw this and it has dramatically improved my game in 2 lessons.Now I can work on footwork & other things that were out of reach before. Thanks JAMES!

This place is fantastic! 2 quick things to mention: 1) they are not on ground level so look for a sandwich board sign out front. 2) the stairwell and elevator are a bit off putting, dont be sketched out. They dont own the building, the stairwell or or elevator so its 100% out of their control. As soon as the doors open you realize the time and care that went into building 5iron.8 of us went and they put us in essentially a private room with 2 sims, a shuffle board table, and a bar with a bartender. I think we drank every bud lite in the place actually. Besides the sims and shuffleboard there is also a free ping pong table, food, golf instructors, and free rental clubs.The staff was all friendly, patient, and knowledgable as well which is a rare find in NYC. We will be coming back for sure

As much as Id love to leave a 1-star review for my own selfish reasons (I dont this place to get too popular!), I have to admit; they do it right. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and solid facility.
