The perfect spot to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, this place has got so much historic character! We were lucky to snag a table and were well attended to by a lovely server who managed incredibly well on such a busy day. We had a really nice corned beef sandwich with nice crispy fries which was washed down by a perfect pint of Guinness. I look forward to trying again on a slightly less crowded day.
Very cozy place .Staff was very friendly and attentive .Had the burger with onion , sautéed mushrooms . The add on’s were soo good .The burger was very simple otherwise . Felt like there could have been more fat to give it more flavor . Deff have had a better burger in my life before . But truly I enjoyed the simplicity of it . I would happily come back .It really is a very comfortable atmosphere .
Had an amazing dinner here on our trip to NYC. The corned beef on the rueben may have been the best I have ever tasted and the spice bag was everything I wanted it to be! The best I have had outside of Ireland. Excellent service and a friendly waitstaff.
What great cozy pub!! The atmosphere, the food and the staff are amazing!! True irish pub in mid manhattanI said I will go back and and I have been back twice and going back again soonCDN transplant in NYC here and been to my share of pubs, but this one is a good one :)
From the outside Molly’s looks a bit kitschy and unmemorable but as soon as you enter you know you’re somewhere special. It’s the warm glow, the old wooden everything, the perfect pour of Guinness, the chat with the bar maid from N. Ireland, the SPICE BAG and the Irish curry that lingers - all perfect. Good golly Ms MOLLY!
I live in the area and walk by all the time but never took a moment to stop in mostly because I could never see inside without stopping to look through a little creepy window.I met my friends here for dinner and a drink and it was very cute. They had lights everyone for the holidays I suppose and the very authentic sawdust on the floor. We ordered a few drinks and mine were well mixed. I got virgin drinks but my friends ordered wine and other cocktails. We ordered food and I was pretty happy with mine. I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and the only complain I have is that the chicken was a bit over cooked and tasted a bit rubbery in the sandwich. Other than that the flavor was good and so were the fries it ordered.I would come here but avoid the chicken. The staff was nice but messed up the order sometimes which I’m fine with. If you’re more picky then probably not your place.
Shepherds (Cottage) pie was awesome! Meatloaf special was amazing. Very large portions, though.Get there early, if you want a table. Love that the staff all sounded like they were actually Irish... :)All in all, it is an amazing place with an amazing staff.
The Shephards pie was great and small size was enough to fill up. And one order of the sides is good for sharing. My friends loved the burgers. Attentive and friendly service !
Fun and vibrant with some traditional Irish fare including a well poured Guinness, fish and chips, and plenty more. This was a great gathering spot on a rainy evening, the staff was excellent, and the service above expectations!
Molly definitely has the common Irish pub vibe! Dark and cozy! Im glad my four cousins and I got a good corner table on a Saturday afternoon because it did get busy later on. I think most customers came to watch a sports game. We ordered a spice bag, full Irish breakfast, shepherds pie, and sausage to share. I personally didnt love the food as it was a bit bland. Ive had better Irish food in other NYC pubs, but it was decent in portion size and taste. It seemed like there was only one waitress so she was pulled in different direction often. The womens bathroom was clean and quite spacious. Perhaps Ill return for a Guinness one day to try their pour but probably not for the food.
We went here a couple times on our vacation, it is a relaxed, cozy atmosphere with great service, brunch was great! Eggs Florentine, corned Beef hash.Lunch was even better! The best Rueben Ive ever had! And the Shepards pie was amazing as well.
Beautiful decorations inside, gives an awesome vibe. This place has benches on the left side and the bar is extended all along the right side. It was very packed when I was here. They have an extremely cute fireplace in the middle of Molly’s.
One of the most authentic Irish pub restaurants I’ve been to. Not only is the food amazing (try the pot pie—you won’t be disappointed!) but the service is incredible! Everyone there is so nice and welcoming. It’s a huge change of pace from some other restaurants in the area. Not to mention it was all decorated with lights for Christmas and was just darling. 100/10 would recommend and will be returning!
My fave Irish pub in NYC. Be sure to enjoy the Irish Spice Bag. Tons of flavor here with some curry dusted fries, peppers, onions and chicken bits. Just a bit of heat make this a unique, savory and tasty dish.
I used to live around the corner and I ate here a few times a week for years. The burger is an absolute knockout, one of the best NYC. Great service and atmosphere. Whenever I’m back in town I always stop at Molly’s for a pint and bite.
If you want a more cost effective way to travel to Ireland...a trip to Mollys will do the trick.Looked after by staff, great pub food and glorious Guinness.Comfy booths and tables in the back too...something for everyone.
Had a really good Christmas Eve dinner at Mollys. Loved this atmosphere. The food was good. The owners were very nice. Service was great.
It was a fun place to visit during the holidays...cute decor. The bar area was crowded and there was no waiting area,so waiting at the bar for your table was a mess.
I love going to Mollys to eat. The food is always delicious. I have never been disappointed. You feel like youre at home just chilling with friends eating and drinking.
Cozy Irish pub with great Guinness and Irish fare.
What a gem to stumble upon on Christmas Eve. Loved the charm, friendly staff, tasty food, and plenty of holiday warmth. Highly recommend this Irish drinking establishment and even more so for the tasty morsels. French onion soup hit the spot with all the gooey cheese. We can see why thr Shepard pie is so highly recommended.
Greatest bar ive ever been to in my life. you miss the place the moment you leave. food is incredible, drinks are great, service is great, bartenders Kev and Gary are the absolute best.
A NYC institution! I have been going here for over 20 years and Mollys consistently has the best Guinness, burgers, and Irish breakfast in New York. An amazing vibe with fantastic food, this authentic Irish pub is simply without compare. Go and check it out and you wont be disappointed. Other items of note: fish & chips, chicken wings, the burgers (again & again)... Pretty much the whole menu is fantastic.
Many claim to be an Irish pub, but few deliver. Mollys is a guaranteed good time. Do not sleep on the curry.
Great pub. Lots of choices of whiskey and spirits.
Authentic Irish pub. Classic dishes. The roast chicken special and hand cut fries were delicious.
Great bartenders, great vibe. The booths are so cute and it really gives you the Irish pub feel. The prices are reasonable. The patrons are great. Good location. A BAR where everyone knows your name. How sweet.
Service was excellent. This bar is somehow lively and relaxing at the same time. Very homey. Cute pictures on the wall. The Irish spice bag was perfect. Margaritas were surprisingly good considering it’s an Irish bar.
Good salad, chicken fingers and Reuben sandwich. Plus, a great crowd for a Thursday night here in nyc.
This place has been a weekly go-to since I moved to the neighborhood several years ago, even more so in the winter since they have an oldschool wood-burning fireplace. With COVID, I’ve been more than happy my regular places have gone above and beyond to make accommodations for these trying times. I’ve sat outside several times as well as inside (they have an air purifier), and have never been concerned or questioned my health or safety. These are hard times for all but I’m happy support my local favorites to pull through!
Everything you want an Irish pub to be. Fantastic food and drinks. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly, efficient service. Even a gas fireplace! Burgers and shepherds pie are especially good.
Nice neighborhood Irish pub nearby Gramercy Park. As soon as you enter the bar you will see a large bar area that takes up half of the space. The bartenders and servers at the location are very inviting and friendly. I ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings to go. I was thoroughly surprised with the way they packaged my burger, they had deconstructed my burger and packaged everything separately. Its was a nice and thoughtful touch as the hamburger buns did not get soggy, the burger patty itself was cooked to my specifications and in its on container sitting in its own juices awaiting to be assembled to form the burger. The onion rings while very oily and greasy were by far the stand out dish of the evening, this establishment knows how to do their beer batter right for frying. Everything about the onion rings was on point, the slight hint of Curry powder in the batter was a nice touch. I look forward to returning to Mollys for another one of their entree items. At almost 20 dollars for the burger the price is a bit high. But you will be getting some quality eats here!
Loved this place! A very chill place. We didnt eat just had some drinks outside. Kevin was our waiter and he was super friendly and accommodating. Loved the dimness of the bar. It had a very Irish feel. I would definitely be back. They have Michelob Ultra in bottles
Our favorite! Gary is the best bartender! Everything is delicious but especially the Irish Spice Bag, the curry chicken & fries, the mozzarella sticks, and the cheeseburger!
Excellent establishment. Guinness was perfectly poured. The food was authentic Irish American pub food and some of the best you will ever have. The chicken curry over rice and fries was solid but the Shepard’s Pie stole the show. The staff was friendly. Music was nice. Will be going back soon
Mollys always has a lovely atmosphere! The entire place is decorated with fairy lights which adds cozy lighting and a great atmosphere. It does get quite busy so I do recommend planning your night around Mollys if you can. The food is amazing, I come here for the curry chips (french fries with curry sauce) and they never get old. Cant beat Mollys, but I do recommend joining em!
Great pint of Guinness. I was told the foods really good- was just drinking that night. Felt like the real thing. Will be back for dinner.
I was visiting the city and found this awesome hole in the wall. The bartender was friendly, drinks were great, and the shepherd’s pie was the best I’ve ever had.
Great burgers. Lackluster fries and salad
This has the vibe of a neighborhood bar/restaurant. Not hipster or touristy. Me and my wife loved it. I had a thick cut pastrami sandwich. Totally simple. My wife had a Chicken Cesar Salad. The Guinness tasted better than the 6 other bars we hit inside of 3 days. Don’t come here for fine dining. Come here for good times with locals. Great staff. Great food. Great drinks. Great times. Thank you Molly’s!!!
Love the vibe, and the burger was delicious! We mentioned we were splitting the 10oz and they kindly served each half on its own plate.
I have been coming to Mollys for years, mostly to share drinks. A specialty is delicious Irish Coffee, or variations such as Jamaican Coffee (think rum). Mollys also has good beers and a good whiskey selection.Food 8s fine, but nothing special.
Classic Irish Pub.Love the food and got excellent service from the guy that works there. He was very friendly and kept checking in on us, went here on a whim and decided to get the fish and chips. They also have outdoor seating, I love the decor on the inside though.
In door seating can be very limited, but they offer outdoor seats with heated insulation. Our waitress was very kind and the food came out fast and delicious! It’s near Rolf’s.
A classic Irish pub complete with sawdust on the floor, Irish music on the jukebox, and a working fireplace. its a solid spot to grab a pint just based off atmosphere alone, not to mention the mile-long menu of English and Irish drafts. They also serve one of the best pub burgers around.Burgers are huge and perfect, among the best I have ever had! If you come here for the brunch or for a burger, you will not be disappointed.Sit by the fireplace and take in a game or people watch!
Great Irish pub. Staff is friendly and helpful. Drinks were well priced and the ambiance is excellent. Would highly recommend stopping in for a pint!
One of the best meal I had in a pub by far!
Shepards Pie is amazing! One of the best Ive had. The decor was very nice during Christmas and the drinks are good. The corned beef was cooked very well, but the cabbage was bland. Tasted as if there was no seasoning, Id stick with the Shepards Pie personally.
Usually crowded with great atmosphere. Good service and good food is very edible and tasty.
💨 $11 Guinness tasted fine. Place is cute. Staff wasnt great. Other patrons were annoying
I went in there the other night to get a burger around 10. I had tried the Old Town Tavern and Petes, but they were both closed. The cheeseburger I ordered was about the best pub burger Ive ever had in NYC, better than Donovans. And the side of onion rings were top notch. Glad I went, ill be back.
Really good food. Nice people. A very special place.
Molly knows how to entertain. Molly is your old school sawdust on the floor Irish bar. Service is friendly and with a smile. There was a group of us for a birthday meal and our server was quick witted funny with great service. Good selection of beers and on tap. You have your usual suspects of fish & chips and shepherds pies but surprising vegan friendly also (we had some in our group). The wood interior is rustic pub feel. It is not over loud except for probably during St. Patty’s but I’d probably avoid it at all cost anyway. Everyone had a great time. The food was solid. Good service and the birthday boy had a good time.
Classic Irish Pub with some decent food options. I love that they have Irish Spice Bags which are a unique Irish food influenced by Asian takeout, which is a collection of fried food like peppers, onions, potatoes/fries, and breaded chicken.
I sat at the bar. It was a Grand experience, I loved the bartender, the vibes, the atmosphere. Definitely coming back. The food was amazing! So fresh, I had there calamari. Perfect. 🥰
It was perfect weather on the first weekend October. The beer came quick and steady and each pour was fantastic. The fish and chips were absolutely genuine London recipe are completely authentic and delicious. The staff was wonderful and Charming as well.
Mollys is hands down my favorite burger in the area. The servers tell it like it is: a thick, ten ounce burger... this aint no McDonalds hamburger patty! My burgers have been cooked exactly to the temperature I specified each time Ive come here, which is more than I can say for other burger places I frequent. I think the price is extremely reasonable, given that I can never seem to finish the entire plate. The side salad and fries arent as notable though. This place is empty come weekday lunches (got my burger 10 minutes after entering the establishment), but Ive tried a few weekend dinners and the wait can be up to an hour since they dont take reservations. (Once you sit, youre basically closer to strangers than your own date!) All employees Ive interacted with are super nice, but they might be hard to come by when it gets busy.I personally dont like the sawdust all over the floor, as it gets stuck to my shoes... The burger is definitely worth it though!
One of my favorite places. Great food and service. I did step on a glue trap full of poison that was right under the table but at least there were no insects or rodents on it. Great place to visit. Been going for years and will continue going.
Well stocked bar with friendly staff. Didnt eat here but the food looked really good.
Really really good food and atmosphere. Felt like I was in the Temple bar area of Dublin.
And was established in 1960, therefore, naturally the most traditional Irish bar in New York. I was very excited to see all the history and old structure at this place! As we stepped inside, it was darker than expected, I could not see or appreciate the old structure or the interior much. I could see that there was a large bar to the right, and booth seating to the left. They had lots of sawdust on the floor, and I heard there is a fireplace here, but I didnt spot one in the dark.We ordered Shepards Pie and Irish Lamb Stew. They were both filling and delicious, even though a bit on pricey side. The stew surprisingly delicious, much more than expected. It is always great when you go in with a low or no expectation, then receiving something very delicious. Maybe we had too high of an expectation for the Shepards Pie... It was really good, but not as good as I wanted it to be. The service was nice and friendly. I wish if the space was better lit, with normal light colors, instead of that strange red colored light. I heard they have pretty good burgers here, maybe I will come back to try some burgers next time, during lunch or brunch hours so that I can really appreciate the historical building more from the inside. Read my full review of this restaurant and food on my food blog, foodlovergirl.
Great food grade service!
Mollys is a comfortable, neighborhood Irish pub that just happens to serve delicious food. The atmosphere has not changed in the 45 years I have visited --- sawdust on the floor, vintage booths, almost always busy bar, helpful wait staff, and speedy service. The food is delicious. Their Shepherds pie is my favorite in the city, their burgers are great, and the salmon & chicken dishes are especially terrific. Prices are reasonable & you will feel immediately welcome. Their decades of experience show in the excellence of the operation. You should give it a try!
Decent grub, not great. What is great is the convivial atmosphere and the great staff.A long time Manhattan favorite.
The shepherds pie and fish & chips are amazing!! Warm and inviting atmosphere, extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend!!!So happy Jimmy Fallon recommended you. Coming from Tulsa, I would have never found you guys. Thanks for a great time.
This place is such a vibe. Takes me back to my Irish ancestry. The bartender Michael is a real gem
This place is as advertised - an authentic Irish dive bar, which is an experience that they nailed. I highly recommend the Irish coffee here. I personally disagree with Zagat on the food though; the burger I got wasnt bad by any means, but best in town is pushing it. Worth noting that the crowd is also on the older side compared to other spots in the area.
Great bar/restaurant. Excellent atmosphere and service.
A fantastic old school bar, super friendly host/staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere - a perfect spot for a few drinks and some great quality comfort food all at a reasonable price. John is a fantastic host and great company for a solo traveller such as myself.
Classic Irish pub, we were greeted by the owner who was very welcoming. Stoped by for a quick bite, ordered a grilled chicken pesto sandwich and a glass of white wine. The Sandwich was delish! It was served with nicely seasoned French fries and pickles. Tara was great! I would certainly recommend.
This place was fantastic. Service was really good and the food was delicious. I dont find myself on the Lower East Side very often but I will not hesitate to come back here if I find myself in the area again.Excellent spot. And really nicely decorated for the Christmas season. As a bonus, the place also has the seal of approval from @nutfreeinnyc.
Quintessential old NY bar. Great place for drinks. Food was OK. Staff was good.
An excellent dive bar with fantastic fish and chips the bartender was friendly and professional.. John was an awesome bartender.
Heres the thing with Mollys.... Its an institution. Just like Desmonds on Park. But its, thankfully, (sort of) off the tourist books unlike McSorleys. Been there for 15+ years.Their hamburger is insane. (Serious.) And theyre well known for their Irish Breakfast. The clock? Always on the same time. Hilarious. No idea why but its probably worth asking. This pic was taken a few days before Thanksgiving. Theres a (fake) fireplace there, sawdust on the floor, and its just a phenomenal spot. Their decorations are just.... well.... it works.Dont expect Nomad Hotel Bar level cocktails here. Thats not what they do... or will ever do.The cast of characters that youll find in here from time to time is absolutely worth the visit. And yes.... Its a damn good dinner spot too. You cant tell from the pic but theres a full dining room in the back with amazing service.Come by, order a Guinness at the bar, and relax. You wont be disappointed.
Here I am the day after still thinking about the Guinness and Shepard’s Pie I had here. What an amazing place.
A cute restaurant with outdoor seating!! The food was delicious and the portion sizes were amazing for the price!
So comfortable. Had a great burger.
Lovley Irish Pub. Awesome food and good beer. Staff is great.
Great experience.Food and service on point
Beware of this pub on St. Patricks Day- especially if you have a large party! Like any pub or Irish establishment in NYC, it will be packed on the big day; however, that is not the problem. Besides the fact we waited 45 minutes outside the pub, with a doorman who clearly did not understand the meaning of customer service and had an attitude his mom would of been proud of; we then waited INSIDE for an hour for a table for 6. We were told we would not be sitting together because of how small the pub was; totally fine! The owner of the pub, a tall gentleman from Ireland, proceeded to take small groups ahead of us or took names down and put them on the list. A few times he told groups to grab drinks at the bar because it would be a long wait; what he did not disclose to them but to our group after he shoved menus into our faces while we were standing body to body; was that it was $30 MINIMUM FOR EACH PERSON TO SIT AND EAT. Im sorry.... what? He DID NOT disclose this information to ANYONE else being sat before us what so ever. Many of us were drinking water, which is our right to do considering we had drank previously that day and some of us actually do not drink alcohol at all/or are on special diets. He made a very snide comment about us all drinking water. I asked him if the $30 minimum was for ALL seated guests, or just our large group. He looked so taken aback when I asked and proceeded to say Do you think I would discriminate? That goes for everyone in the pub I kindly said, with all do respect sir, not once have you addressed this to anyone sitting down before us while they past, so there for YES you are discriminating against our large party. A friend of mine, who has visited the pub last year on St. Patricks mentioned how this must be a new policy because it was not done last year; however the owner was adamant. Personally, if he is going to lie, he should be good at it. So just a heads up: Dont expect to sit together OR prepare yourself to have a random minimum per person charge told to you before youre even seated in the pub.
Truly one of the greatest burgers I have ever tasted. Huge, charred to perfection, spot on medium rare, with the right amount of fat and juices oozing from every bite. And the Guinness is pretty decent for an American bar too.
I gathered my friends here for my birthday! They don’t take reservations in December as they are very busy, but the lovely hostess (Alyssa!) was so friendly and supportive of our evening. The ambience and overall energy of Molly’s is warm, cozy, and inviting. It is everything I want from a pub. Their pies and drinks hit the spot, and the fireplace and Christmas lights are the icing on the cake! Great staff and friendly regulars to top it all off!
Delicious burger and corn beef sandwich. The bartender and waitstaff are super friendly. Highly recommend this place over Christmas time!!! Very festive and better than the other holiday themed places in the neighborhood.
During an afternoon of thrift shopping in NYC last year, my mother, cousin, and I were parched and ready for a quick drink. I spotted Mollys across the street, and we went in on a whim. After letting our eyes adjust--its very dark inside--we sat down in a booth, taking in the architecture, pictures, fireplace, and sawdust on the floor. It was the middle of the afternoon, and so we were the only folks there. Our server/bartender, a friendly woman, told us some about the restaurants history, about how old it was, and showed me a very old picture of the building over 100 years ago. We werent there to eat a big meal, so we just got drinks, and I ordered a cup of their beef stew. Its been at least a year since Ive been there, but when I think of NYC, its still their stew that comes to mind.If youre looking for a five-star experience, this isnt the place for you. If youre interested in a magical place that is very obviously steeped in history, and that speaks of old New York, stop in and have a drink at Mollys.
Mollys has lovely ambience and awesome food. You will find all the Irish Pub standards --shepherds pie, fish and chips and great burgers plus a daily menu of upscale specialties. Service always great, too. Trifecta!
Needed a late dinner, searched for burgers near me while at the PIT, Mollys came up first, and boy were they on point. Just a fantastic burger, and different from most with a noticeable but just right use of black pepper. Good stuff!
Wonderful as always.Beefstew!
Owner refused inside seating as they were sold out. Yet many empty tables inside, it was more like saving room for her friends. Sat outside , not very clean or comfortable. Food got cold quickly.
When I walked in I was greeted by a cheeky Irish feller behind the bahr, I knew I was in the right place. I ordered a pint and had a seat in the dining area with me lass for some dinner. All kidding aside the dinner was spectacular! The service was inconceivably fast, the pub sausage with carmelized onions I got was perfect, and my wife said the corned beef on her reuben was on par with the one her own family makes, she was in food heaven. My unborn daughter cant wait to go back!
Went on Saturday before xmas eve with a few couples. Besides a cramped water closet where I actually ended up meeting friendly patrons... The service was fast and authentic irish. The wings were so delicious and crispy. Been awhile since I had wings this good. The mozzarella sticks were massive and also delicious. I was one of the few people who didnt order the burger and envy was my sin for it... The food was good and nice sized portions that I couldnt even finish my meal and Im a big guy with a fat belly... I will be going back for wings, burgers and pints very soon... I say I say I say...
Good spot to grab a drink. The bar staff is very friendly and the drinks are what you’d expect.
This site is my first choice place. Of all restaurants I know I favor it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. Whenever I feel like having a proper supper, this is the place that comes instantly to my mind. extremely good and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.helpful staff, and great vibes. Not less important, the expence is reasonable. I suggest this spot with no doubt.
Stopped in to watch the ND game, wasnt on so asked for it and they put it on a small TV. Beer was served at a good temperature, food looked good, but only stayed for one drink. Not much going on, quiet place
Possibly the best burger in NYC. This is a very cool Irish pub I have been going to for years.
Great food and great service. I had the fish & chips and my wife had the Reuben sandwich. Both were great. My daughter had the chicken pot pie and it was wonderful.I highly recommend this place.
Warm and cozy atmosphere. Good food. Fairly priced drinks. Friendly bartenders. Loads of interesting characters to enjoy while sitting at the bar.
Good Turkey club, grilled cheese was average. Both had flavorful, crispy bacon. Onion rings were delicious! Not a lot of beers on draft.
Great Irish pub. Tasty food and decent selection of Irish beers. Will go back for sure. Friendly service.
Disappointing. Mozzarella sticks were gross (no flavour) and I make a better shepherds pie than that. I got the impression this is a pub catering to casual 20-30 year olds who order food when they get drunk. Service was fine though.
Cozy AF, warm and fun atmosphere with great Christmas lights hanging all over. Service was friendly and courteous, very old school style.
Lively bordering, on raucous, pub with excellent burgers and brews.
Good Burgers and wings. Portions are very generous and bar has a real old school vibe. The sawdust in the floor is the kicker.
So glad we landed here! Food and drinks were great but Joanne was the best part of our experience! So friendly and made us feel so comfortable!
My friends brought me here for a drink after work and I absolutely fell in love with the place. The staff is so warm and inviting. They treat you like family. The drinks were pretty strong. We ordered martinis and the 1st one had me feeling buzzed. Totally worth it.We ordered some food and it was tasty as well. Its a warm comfy feeling sitting in there.I would definitely return again. Our waitress was Joann and she was great. Even gave us a hug goodbye.
Nice little cozy Irish place with bar and American Comfort food options.
An authentic Irish pub. Great food! Great service, great vibe. A classic NYC joint. Not to be missed.
Authentically Irish. Very good food. Big portions. You can pay for split plate if you are on a diet. Good mature calm crowd compared to other places in midtown.
A Wonderful Irish Restaurant... Excellent food and service. The Staff were friendly and professional .We had a group of 8 and they treated us very well... Thank you
If you want a bar where everyone knows your name, then this is the place to come.Wood dust in the floors, classic Irish food and drink served up with good old Irish hospitality make this a good staple for the Gramercy area.
The food was outstanding. The Genniess best in the states. The service was all you could hope for and more. Joann is a lovely wonderful lady. She made the evening. Thank you Joann for all. Redbeast was fantastic.
Didnt wait too long to get in and one of the best burgers Ive had in awhile!
Great neighborhood Irish Pub.Food is consistently good.Staff is friendly.
Just go here, PERIOD! Rose and Sheila are so amazing and have made loyal customers out of us, and we live in Hoboken. I’ll recommend Molly’s to anyone!
Had the fish and chips and corned beef and cabbage. Huge portions. Great service. Surprisingly great selection of spirits (overflowing bar). Great find!
Everything youd hope a real Irish pub to be, plus it has sawdust on the floor; so there, its more than what youd expect. Great staff, good beer selection, and comfty food, what else could you want?
Was there last week 5/2021, and the mussels are back on the menu, thanks to the Angel named Joanne! Shes wonderful and the staff makes you feel welcomed. They care about your experience, and hopefully you care about theirs. They deserve great customers. My buddy had the burger and was in heaven. Thrilled to see these mussels back on the menu! The outdoor structure is well made with heat lamps and sunlight. Wonderful place, makes NYC what it is.
Good music & quality Guinness. Old school with a nice fireplace. Good for couples & families. Staff are attentive & helpful, but non-intrusive.
Great portions, lovely Irish bartenders, sawdust on the floor. What more could you ask for in a NYC Irish pub... authenticity is a dying commodity in this city, Mollys has it. Great atmosphere
Excellent atmosphere. Had a mini College reunions there Saturday night and it was awesome. The Guinness tasted just like it did in Ireland. Kudos!!!!!
One of local pubs and old school bar. I came to experience the same and I got it. We order Irish Bag (fries with chicken, onions, bell peppers) I drank the Irish coffee which was great.
We had an extraordinary in this place. We liked the wonderful vibes and the meals. The waiters are super attentive. I am happy we eventually decided to try this place.
Great service the food tastes great very huge large portions for your money(I had a burger and onion rings) and also a A great place to chat. Note it can get very busy
Looming for an authentic Irish pub in the city? Look no further, this is as genuine as they come. Sawdust on the floor, excellent food, great atmosphere.
Old pub
Originally planned to go across the street to Rolfs but as usual, the line was down the street, so we came here. Not disappointed!! It was packed and 2-3 deep at the bar. The wait to get a beer was 15min, but we had great time chatting with everyone and passing the time away. It was too long of a wait to eat, but the burgers looked pretty good! Going back to find out!!!
Great pub food and awesome legit poured Guinness. The burger is amazing. Solid wings. Awesome seasoned waitstaff.
Awesome pub!
Loud and crowded, exactly what youd expect from and Irish pub. I guess one might call it lively. Someone definitely went heavy handed with the Christmas decor, but it only adds to the fun vibe here.
The food was amazing. Onion rings were so light.
Love this place, good burgers, guinness.. pub atmosphere. Its a real place for real people not some touristy hole.
Awesome little dive. Extremely homely vibe with friendly staff. The prices are very cheap and the pub food is excellent. Saw dust floor through to christmas lights everywhere. Great spot
The bartender was very rude and the attention she gave us was very bad. I will never return again.
Good food, good bar, straight forward Irish bar. Nothing more to say, its just a fun place to spend your night and have a couple of drinks and maybe some Sheperds pie.
I love love love this place, been coming here for years. All the food is so fresh, they make almost everything from scratch and the wait staff and bartenders are so friendly.
Been coming here for years. Best pub burger in the city. Good Guinness and hay covered floors, what more could you want!
Delicious food, *super friendly* service, a real Irish pub atmosphere (none of that fakey brass and fern, NYC Irish b.s.). Not fancy, but homey. Prices are very reasonable, as well. Irish Breakfast (a standout): $17 includes a healthy portion of Irish black and white pudding, Irish sausage, Irish bacon, eggs, homefries, toast, and tea. Beans are extra, and fries can be substituted for homefries.Theres a fireplace to gather around on cold nights, but the lovely bar and waitstaff always drive away the chill on their own.Its an altogether wonderful place.
Good traditional Irish pub food , try the shepherds pie.. the atmosphere and locals here make this a place Il definitely return to.
Great food and environment! Could have been checked on a few more times by the waitress, but a great little Irish pub
From the moment we walked into Molly’s we felt welcomed, like at home. On a Wednesday night, there was a lively ambiance and a mixed crowd. Our orders came promptly. The Shepherd’s Pie was outstanding. We’ll be back to try its Chicken Pot Pie.
A favorite haunt for many many years. They let us sit and hang out and talk and laugh at our table like its a living room.
Great food, good drinks, reasonable price. Really crowded though. Also, I know some people like the sawdust floors but I am not a fan....
Lovely neighborhood Irish pub with great good especially the fish & chips and brunch
Great burger, really good service from the bartender. Lively and unpretentious, would definitely go back again if in the neighborhood
My favorite place for a burger and a beer since I moved to NYC 36 years ago.
Great local pub with charming owner, great low-key atmosphere. Nice place for a work lunch when you want some nice comfort food and a pint.
Hands down my favorite spot for a stout. The staff is consistently great.
Might be the best Irish bar in NYC
Always crowded, but in a good way. Staff is quick and friendly. Great food, standard beer selection for an Irish pub.
Great pub. With great bar food you can go wrong. If you want a drink and a bite at a reasonable price for the City.
Great food with good service - would recommend for anyone looking for a casual bite to eat in the area. Would highly recommend the onion rings and wings!
Irish coffee done properly, real Irish bacon and a great atmosphere. Best Christmas lights Ive seen in NYC too :)
Great bartender!!
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and the best shepherds pie Ive ever had.
Classic Irish pub! Definitely go if youre in the Gramercy Park/Union Square area!
After a day of hiking at Bear Mountain, my friend and I dropped by Mollys for an early dinner. We ordered the Shepherds Pie and the fish and chips respectively, which we washed down with pints of Smithwicks.
The best brioche french toast I ever had with lots of fresh fruit. Yum
Limited food menu. Wonderful burgers. Super friendly servers.
Sawdust floor. Barmen that yell at rowdy patrons. A lovely Guinness. Fantastic spot, particularly in fall and winter when the fireplace is much appreciated.
Fresh Donegal catch according to Tara. Great staff, great ambiance..and a real Red Sox bar in NY. Go Sox!
Yummy food and beer. Awesome service. We will be back@
Came here for brunch. Went inside told the bartender I’m sitting outside. Then the bartender said he will came out in few minutes. I waited 20 minutes no one came to serve me and there is one lady server kept walking passed by me. She didn’t even asked what I want to drink did I order yet. Noting! and the table and seat was so disgusting and dirty. Yuck! First time and last time! I will post it on my blog. Chao , bye! Good luck!
Awesome authentic NYC Irish pub. Was there for about 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon with some buddies and loved every minute. I was sad we couldn’t stay longer. The place is cozy, warm, and inviting. Friendly staff and a great pour of Guinness. It was busy and lively but we were still able to find seats at the bar and have a conversation at a regular volume. We didn’t eat but the food looked and smelled great. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Manhattan.
Good plates, all of the plates are tasty and fresh.
Where to begin? Great staff, great food and good prices. I make a point to go with my friends as its a great place to drink, eat and relax.
This place is awesome. I used to work a few blocks away and would always come here for a burger and beer after work. One of the few things I miss about NYC!
Great hearty brunch. Warm and friendly staff. Great for dinner to. Try the Specials!
Had better Guinness at other bars. Food was okay but over prices were expensive for average food.
Had to take a bite first before the review! Excellent food and great atmosphere! Bison burger was definitely a great choice and the bunch special on sunday is perfect for a rough night before. Cozy bar and definitely get the feeling of a great family irish pub. Keep up the great work! I will be back!!
Nice place! I loved to eat here, and the Christmas decorations... so much loved the ambiance!
Welcoming, attentive and friendly staff. Warm intimate atmosphere. We had brunch and the food was delicious.
Great burgers, great curry sauce with fries, great black & tans, great atmosphere! Love Mollys Shebeen!
Ive been going to this bar for over 20 years. Love
True blue Tavern. Cozy and welcoming. Burger was satisfying, bartender made you feel like a regular.
Very popular, especially on St. Patricks Day, but if you can get in and a table, its worth it! Their Irish Sausage and Mashed Potatoes (Bangers n Mash) is EXCELLENT; will have to try their Corned Beef Sandwich or Corned Beef and Cabbage another day.
Longstanding, authentic Irish pub - with warm service that makes you feel at home. When I lived nearby years ago, I would visit regularly - couldnt go wrong with any dish. From time to time I still stop by and the Fish and Chips are just as crisp and tender as I remember (so hard to find good fish and chips in this city - especially with brown sauce/HP!). Its rare to find a real Irish pub with so many watered down imitations. Mollys is a treat and Im glad it hasnt changed.
Molly’s serves up a stellar pint of the black stuff. The perfect atmosphere if you’re out with friends or just want to be alone at the end of the bar.
Very nice pub! The staff were all kind and the atmosphere was cozy and warm - highly recommend
Amazing food, great vibe. Must visit if youre in the neighborhood (or even if youre not!)
Nice little Irish pub. Cozy atmosphere
The spice bag is life changing. Burger is good, chicken pot pie is great. Authentic experience with good servers.
Gary is the best bartender! Highly recommend this place. All workers are amazing and the atmosphere is great.
Perfect little irish pub, great staff. Thanks
They make you feel like family once you put your foot in the door!We had blackened cod and fish and chips. They were prepared perfect. We had great drinks, especially the irish coffee!!
Step back in time into this cozy Irish pub featuring epic burgers and classic pub fare. Try the Shepards pie, fish and chips, and wash it down with a cold Guinness
Very friendly bartenders, the atmosphere is great and the food was amazing. I loved everything and its very close to Baruch College.
Molly’s is a proud neighborhood institution. With one of the two best jukeboxes on the East Side. The other one is at Horseshoe Bar at 7B.
So so hole in the wall pub. Ok food and ok service. Nothing to write home to mom about
Overall a 5-star experience at Mollys. Easy to grab a table at a moments notice. Staff was attentive and food was good.
Nice cozy Irish pub, great waiter, good old rock, easy-going crowd.
Best nyc place ever! Come every time were in the city
Great spot if you’re looking for a chill spot in Manhattan for an out of towner.
Bar I went here with Arjun long time ago. Dark with saw dust on ground. Good burgers according to Adam Cohn.
Lovely old school place. Burgers are fantastic.
My favorite Irish pub in NYC! Great food, wonderful Guinness, and fantastic service.
Low slung Irish bar, sawdust on the floor, proper pints & decent food, friendly crowd & knowledgeable bar staff.
Always great food and atmosphere. Service is excellent. Welcoming environment.
This place is old school, not touristy, amazing mozz, locals shop here, and the people that work there are the real deal. Its where my in the know buds get their ingredients.
It seems all the people who can’t get into Rolf’s line up to come here. We were a party of 7, and we figured we would stop by here. We waited a while to be seated and were ignored a few times. We were seated towards the back in their round table. Well after being seated it took a while for our waitress to recognize us and she was pretty rude to us throughout our stay. She only checked on us once, and kept trying to drop off the check even though we kept ordering food and drinks, and when we would ask her something she would roll her eyes, she seem annoyed by anything we said. Our drinks were okay, and the food was not good. It felt very low quality, it tasted like your average dive bar food. Now, we went during the holiday season so I’m not sure if they had the decorations to be festive, or if it’s an all year round this like Rolf’s, since again Rolf’s is next to them, and again a lot of people who can’t get into Rolf’s go to the next available spot which is immediately here.
Food is amazing. Atmosphere will make you think youre in a pub in Ireland.
