This place was one of our first stops in New York. We loved it so much we went back again! Met Kurt, their Frank Sinatra singer! He was amazing!! Met the owner as well. He is a very nice guy! The cocktails were great. My husband loved Jameson Orange and ginger ale with a slice of orange, so that was his drink choice, and I had a Yuengling and a candy can cocktail. (Santas something? ) If youre in New York, go! We started on the first floor and ended up on the 2nd floor to watch Kurt! You dont regret it! The French onion soup was too die for! All of their food is delicious! Service is great as well! Oh, and a bonus was, got to meet Buddy the Elf and his Reindeer! So much fun!

Cool Irish Pub one street from the craziness of Times Square. The pub was clean, so were the bathrooms. Service was friendly and fast. I had a Reuben and my with had a Turkey club and salad. We both enjoyed our meals, nothing fancy just good stereo typical pub fare. The price of food was average for New York. The is a roof top patio but it was closed the day we were there. It was nice and quiet when we had our meal, a good break from the NYC chaos!

The beautiful place but the attention was the worst, I went alone to have two beers and when I asked for the bill the guy tells me that its 20 dollars for two crowns. But he told me with an ugly attitude, and I thought it was expensive to pay 20 dollars for two beers, then I asked him for the ticket and he told me that they didnt give consumption tickets there and I found it very strange, and then he tells me that if I want he would give me the bill, and I told him of course, I want to see how much the two beers cost and he reluctantly gave me the bill and ended up charging me 24 dollars.. the truth is very bad attention .. it was on the third floor and the guy had long hair And I think hes from Ecuador

Server Patricia was very rude and at the end saw they automatically added 18% gratuity without saying anything. Bussers would come. and reach over your plate to set something down without even saying anything. Wanted) something off of the kids menu and she refused because I wasnt 10 and under and itnever said that anywhere. It was also Saturday around 1pm and they wouldnt let us order anything on the weekend brunch that was from 10am-4pm on Saturday and Sundays. No one asked about our food or when we wanted the check, had to find them in order to get the check. It didnt say anywhere that there was an up charge to use card and no one told us. My brother is gluten free so he got a gluten free bun and no one. said that it would be an up charge as well. No waiting area for when it gets busy and extremely cold. No condiments on the table either and no napkins either.

I came here with my husband for dinner around 7:30pm on Saturday night. Despite the prime time, there was no wait and we were seated right away. The waitress was very attentive and I had questions and small requests with my order but she answered took care of each one of them precisely. She went above and beyond, checking with the kitchen and correcting the order for me when I told her about my dietary restriction. On top of her great service, to our surprise the food was beyond regular bar food! I ordered a salad with shrimp and the shrimps were huge!! My husband ordered club sandwich and he said his was very good too.Overall we were very pleased and content with the food and service.

We were seated right away, but waited almost an hour for our food when it was not particularly crowded. The food was about 50/50. I would have enjoyed the meal if the bill hadnt been so high, but most of the food was not worth the price and the portions were small. Steer clear of the apple crumble. All I could taste was the over-powering cinnamon and it was room temperature, which was disappointing considering the beautiful presentation. Its definitely not the worst place Ive been, but be ready to burn through some cash for some average quality food. The view of the city from the roof was beautiful though.

Try the Shepherds Pie and Pot Pie to cure any hangovers. 4 stories with a rowdy bar on 1, a quieter more intimate restaurant setting on 2 and 3. And a rooftop bar with outdoor patio and a great 365 view of the skyline. Private rooms available. Draft beer only available on the 1st floor. The stairs are made out of real marble. Were we planning to spend a few hours with drinks and maybe dessert but couldnt even get the check without having to get up from the table and track someone down. I was met with hostility after that question from the female bar staff and asked the same question to the male staff. His answer was ( I only start today). It was only while walking back to my pint on the bar to notice that it was gone, and low and be hold so was my hat. Straight away the door man asked me to leave. THIS BAR PERSON. The restaurant is conveniently located in Times Square and the food was actually good. There was great live music and we had the best waitress taking care of us!Unfortunately, it was her last day working there and good for her because it seems like a shady place to work. The wench of a manager/hostess scooped up the extra $10 tip from the table that we left on top of the 18% tip they automatically add to your credit card payment. As she picked it up, she asked if it was for our server and we said yes.We felt suspicious and waited until we saw our server to make sure she got it. Our server said she doesnt receive tips while in training and that it was her last day working because she didnt like it there.I stopped the old manager/hostess with the glasses and asked about the tip and she said it was going to be split up amongst everyone, which wasnt what we wanted. We wanted it to go directly to our amazing server.Seems silly to treat amazing workers poorly, especially in a staffing shortage.

More Irish American than Irish, this pub offers a beef stew for only $22 which pairs nicely with a Guinness on draft. If it offered lamb stew and served its Guinness slightly chilled to room temperature I would assume a more British Isles authenticity. We went for a late lunch our first day in NYC. My husband had a beer and a pastrami sandwich (very good he said), my son had a club sandwich and 2 beers, and I had a salad with no protein with water. The food is really unremarkable, but the location is pretty cool because we ate on the rooftop. The weather was perfect and views of surrounding buildings was very nice. $100 seemed high for lunch and what we had, but 1 get- it’s NYC. There is no elevator and the stairs to come to the roof top are VERY steep.

Went here after seeing The Humans on Broadway down the street. Had a burger which seemed to be reheated and did not taste very good. Also had a curry chicken dish which seemed like a TV dinner loaded with fries, shouldnt be surprising as it was brought out almost as soon as we ordered it. Overall food was mediocre at best. On the plus the beer was cold and service was good.

ZERO STARS if I could...TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Touchy rude bartenders, bouncers who were racist bullies, all culminating in what was nothing short of extortion. We were a group of 7, we paid and tipped for all our drinks and were having a good time. One among us was a student and he ended up ordering a drink that he didnt tip for. The bartender asked him “no tip?” and he said “no tip”. We left our fresh round of drinks, that totaled to around $50, and stepped out of the establishment for a smoke. After finishing our smoke when we tried to get back inside the two bouncers stepped in our way and told us “ the bartender says you spoke to him disrespectfully so you are not allowed inside”. This they said was in reference to the no tip incident. Our civilized protests about paid drinks that were left untouched, were met with a callous, threatening and a racist attitude by the two bouncers who seemed to suggest that nothing we do or say will make any difference and asked us to leave. When we told them that this would go on social media, they behaved like they couldn’t care less. This ruined a perfectly good night in this lovely city for all of us, let alone the fact that we were literally robbed off $50. To top this all of the bartender walked out and threatened the aforementioned student friend with a “I hope you have a good night”. We had a horrible experience and if you are civilized citizen then you would want to stay away from this place.

Quite a surprise here. We needed an easy, lets kill some time and grab a bite and drinks before the train home. Happened to see the tables in the window and we thought to give it a try.First off drinks, probably one of the best finds in time square. $4-$5-$6 happy hour till 9pm. Had a few glasses of wine myself and was good. Friends had cosmo and beer and they all commented its surprising to get that deal in the middle of Manhattan.Food was good. We almost all stuck to Irish fare. I did the Shepards pie. I have eaten this all over Ireland, and London. This version was a little dry but had plenty of meat and veg. Loved that they brought out a bottle of Brown Sauce, it actually confirmed that the place is authentic. Friends had bangers and another meatloaf. All very good.I would recommend this to anyone in Times Square. Its hard to find a deal and the happy hour is great. The bonus of actual Irish food made my belly happy

Playwright Celtic Pub is an Irish pub, but you probably got it by the name. They offer a very long menu with Irish and American traditional dishes. They offer burgers for those in a rush, with Hot Pastrami Reuben being a local favorite, but Celtic Pub Burger and Messy Burger are not to be underestimated, too. And you can pick from a number of toppings just for a buck. Those that have a New Year’s resolution to avoid fast food can choose from the soups, salads and the grill. There’s a daily soup, that’s always hot, the salads are fresh and tasty (again, you can pick your dressings). You can pick from chicken, beef, and fish from the grill, and you can’t get wrong with all of them. Plump Chicken Breast is a company favorite. The entrees are those that stand out. All traditional from the green island of Ireland. The Celtic Beef Stew, Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers & Mash, and Beer Battered Fish N’ Chips are amongst the famous “representatives” of Irish cuisine not just in the US, but all over the world. A cool feature is that you have a recommended drink in the menu along with the dishes. Not surprisingly – it’s mostly beer.Although meat dominates the menu, the vegetarians can’t feel neglected. French Onion Soup, Kale and Spinach Salad, Vegetable Pasta (yes, they have great pasta, too) are amongst the quite a few things you can order.

The food is good too, my personal favorites are the Bruschetta, Grilled shrimp, sliders, potato skins, they also have a sampler, i say go for it.
