Winnies Jazz Bar

We had a wonderful experience! The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Even though we were seated slightly later than our original reservation, they made up for it by not charging us for our first round of drinks and even surprised us with a cake for our birthday celebration. The jazz music and singer were absolutely exquisite. The ambiance was cozy and warm. And the rib-eye steak was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Absolutely loved Winnie’s! The jazz band was so fun and started their set after we finished dinner. The carbonara and whiskey sour was everything I wanted and more! Our server was wonderful as well. Loved our time here!

I had the most amazing time at Winnies Jazz Bar! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious, and the jazz trio that played that night was simply incredible—truly talented musicians who added so much to the experience. I had mentioned in my reservation that it was my husbands birthday, and to our surprise, they brought out cake for him, making the evening extra special. It was such a thoughtful touch. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great night of music, food, and wonderful service!

A perfect place if you want to eat and drink well while listening to live music. It feels pretty classy so expect to spend a good amount for your drinks and meals. The food is surprisingly good compared to other similar places. The venue is pretty small, so you better reserve a table in advance.

Very nice small jazz bar spot. Its great if u want to grab a drink before or after going to a show. It a small place . But the bartender are super nice and accommodating. The drinks were very good.The music was also live they had a band of 3 playing which provided a good atmosphere. Only negative is that it is small. So with large group it almost to tight. But if u are going with 4 or 5 ppl or just date night its worth it .

The perfect setting for a romantic night out in NY. The place is small and takes no reservations so count yourself lucky if you are able to get a table. The live music is wonderful, we went on a Saturday night and the band was top notch (they are there every Saturday from 7-10)! The service is fast and very friendly, the place is so cozy and intimate its hard not to fall in love with it! On top of that the food and drinks were great and really went with the whole ambiance of the place. The only downside I can think of is that it closes pretty early (we would have stayed later if we could) If you want to impress a date, bring them here..trust me..it works!

Unpretentious and intimate bar with great love music! Came here on Thursday night and heard some great jazz! We had great seats and it felt like the band was playing to just us! I can’t comment on the food because the kitchen was closed so all I had was a lemonade and the server was also friendly too.

Had a great time watching some live jazz here with friends. Came for the music, but also really enjoyed the food. Its a cozy, intimate setting - great for this kind of small combo jazz. The band was great - the Brenon Parmar Quartet - and I believe they play there regularly. It does get a little too warm in there, and the view of the performers is obstructed for a number of seats.

We went on a Tuesday. It wasnt packed with people. The vibe was nice. The band was really good. The drinks were very nice. Service was great. Everyone smiled and were very welcoming. All in all, we had a great time!I gave the food 4 stars because we only had the pepitas salad, which was very nice. I would have to visit again and try other menu items (which I plan to do) to update the stars.

Phenomenal experience listening to jazz. Service was great and ambiance was very intimate and cosy. I recommend to anyone who enjoys quality jazz. Will definitely be back.

We went with a group of 4 on Saturday evening and it was nice but there were a few quirks to our visit. When we first walked in we all were in love with the ambiance and the band was great. We were glad we had a reservation too because it filled up. While we were there the hotel lobby had what was described as a “catastrophic water system failure.” This meant they had emergency responders there and an alarm blaring- not necessarily anyone’s fault, just poor timing for us. But what we didn’t love was that our server was not very attentive to us and we waited forever to be able to order drinks. Then after we waited for our drinks for a while, she came and told us that they had to shut the water off and couldn’t wash glasses to make us anything at the moment. We were willing to wait and then after a while an option was given to have them in plastic cups. But we weren’t really interested in $20 old fashioneds in plastic cups so we just got some beers and food. The food was really great too! But I was disappointed that no offers were made for any compensation or discounts for the inconveniences of the evening. I would go back, hoping we could enjoy the cocktails that looked great on other tables. But the service was definitely lacking.

Have enjoyed drinks and listening to music at Winnie’s Jazz Bar on our last two trips to NYC. Shout out to the charming Ysanel the hostess who took such good care of the clientele.

Great intimate venue tucked behind some curtains on the entrance hallway of the hotel. Amazing chilled live jazz from a trio whilst people were chatting and enjoying some drinks and food. Feels pretty classy so expect to pay roughly $15-$20 per drink, there is also limited seating available

This was my first experience at a jazz bar and it was astonishing. The bartenders were super friendly and helpful. The jazz was great and it was overall such a great experience. If you’re in Manhattan this is definitely a place to go; a hidden gem for sure.

Your staff are amazing, particularly Lena our waitress and Samantha, our hostess.They were friendly, efficient and very helpful. They went over and above and made our evening memorable. Our thanks to both of them. It was so appreciated.

My wife and I went to the afternoon tea. The Jazz was phenomenal, and the vibe and service were great. We would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys jazz. Such a great way to enjoy a cold NYC winter weekend afternoon. The tea, platter of treats and sandwiches, music and ambience made it an experience worth every penny. We will be back.

Was directed here from Parker & Quinn as they were full for dinner. The hostess at Winnies was so accommodating to help us find seats for us at the bar. Craig was very attentive. The food was perfect. Ordered a Margarita Flatbread and Classic Salad. Both tasty and filling. The jazz musicians were top-notch. What a lovely evening!

The music scene is amazing! This is really classy and nice place. The staff here, Sam in particular, is incredibly considerate, which only adds to an already wonderful experience. I have gone here a few times and this place has never disappointed.

Great little jazz bar with good music and food

Went here for Afternoon tea in a group of 3 on a Sunday at 3pm.The Bar area is aesthetically pleasing with its soft lighting and what seems to be comfy chairs further into the space. However, all seating is not created equal.We were seated in one of the two high top seats with bar stools near the entrance. You will still have a good view of musicians but it doesnt feel as upscale and comfortable as you might feel in the other seating. We asked to be place in one of the more comfortable seating areas, but were told that people paid an upcharge to specifically pick their seating area and it seemed the back seating was reserved for a party. Please note picking a specific seat is no where on the normal booking site, so I am assuming that specific option might be available to those staying at the hotel. I would encourage you to call and see if you can be placed in seats with the best view of the musician with comfortable seating which are the 2 seating areas directly in front or the ones to the right of those. All others have a partial/ completely obstructed view, or are uncomfortable. The Tea service was okay. My favorite was the egg sandwich and the little dickens tea was tasty. If you are going for the afternoon tea, I do not believe the price point matches the experience of a good Afternoon tea - food wise. The live jazz was a treat and was an overall decent experience for a one time try.

Sam the lady who was the front hostess was wonderful. Professional and friendly. We were running late and place a request to delay our booking. She immediately responded and make sure when we arrive we still have a lovely table. The waitresses were nice too. Very friendly. We also met the manage Max. He is very welcoming and makes all the guests feel welcome and comfortable. We will definitely visit again and introduce to our friends. One more comment on the band last night were really good together with the Italian singer makes it a memorable evening for my husband’s birthday celebration.

Fantastic place to hear some good jazz and get some drinks and small plates. No reservation required, no cover and no minimum. We heard the Raphael Silverman Quartet (great job gentlemen!). Service from the wait staff is outstanding. One of our favorite spots when visiting NYC.

Very relaxed bar within the hotel. Live jazz music was very soothing whilst not overly loud to not be able to hear conversation.Service was good and the drinks/cocktails were all strong and tasty.

Winnies is top notch. Visited on a Monday, so a slower night, but everyone there was attentive, and welcoming. Ysanel provided excellent service and solid recommendations for food/drinks, and we enjoyed all the music. Simply put, overall great vibes at Winnies and suggest you give it a try.

Amazing place to relax and enjoy some good jazz music. Drinks are very fairly priced for such a classy place.We had dinner before getting here so didnt get to try the food this time around. But everything looked grreat!

Truffle oil fries spectacular. Usually 5/5 experience but this Saturday (2/10/24) I went and the band was more soul/rock/blues. Definitely put a damper on my Galentine’s Day outing and wish I didn’t pay to reserve. Would have left earlier.As a former tour manager, the speaker was UNNECESSARILY loud. Our ears were legit hurting to the point my chest did too. I was trying to hold my ear closed. Paid for the best seats in the house, which ended up being the worst seats.

We would have enjoyed the experience more if the group of three at the table next to us would have listened to the music instead of talk the whole time.

Second time here, but I needed to write a second review to highlight two staff members last Saturday night (Nov 16). The server was Ysanel, and the bar tender was Luke. Foremost... Attention to detail is an understatement! I watched these two respectively go above and beyond for their customers the whole night. Both were so courteous and such pleasures to interact with. Extremely patient with customers and all-around consummate professionals. Made the night that much more enjoyable!!!! WELL DONE!!!

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing night out here at Winnies to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was exceptional and a special kudos to Samantha who was taking care of the entire dining room and never missed a beat and kept a smile on her face the whole time. The head bartender Mathew and manager Eric contributed to make my wife and I feel like VIPs. Thank you everyone for a lovely and memorable night out!

Love this spot for the wonderful live music on Saturdays. Matthew Piazzi puts on quite a show. Lots of energy in his performance. The nly thing better is the dri KS and the cheese burgers. Definitely recommend this jazz bar.

Very cool retro vibe living-room atmosphere. Vintage Jazz trio played well-known Great American Song Book standards. Pro bartenders.. friendly enough and very competent. In the Bryant Park area, its possibly the coolest hang I can name.

I was here on Tuesday night and it’s a wonderful little bar.Got to hear the wonderful Tara O’Grady and her band perform their own songs as well as many jazz & swing classics that were being requested by the crowd.Well worth the visit

Good music, friendly bar tenders, tasty drinks. They close a bit early and pricing is definitely Manhattan but man their slow gin fizz hits the spot like nobody else back home.

We went for the Gospel Brunch. The show was impressive with Noelle and her group. Surprisingly, the brunch food itself exceeded our expectations. Fresh, diversified, abundant and super tasty. Good job!

Excellent entertainers. Someone different every night. Different styles. All excellent. Get there early or expect to jockey for seating. You can sit in the lobby. The food is from the downstairs restaurant. I saw lots of fries walking by. They start @ 8pm. No show on Sun.

I like this place well enough, but Im not a huge fan of paying $26 for a glass of whiskey. In the rooftop bar, sure. Hit me. But down in the lobby bar? Come on.

Went for happy hour drinks. Drinks were reasonably priced and very good.. we had 6 people with a variety of drinks and all were very good. Service was great, very cool NYC atmosphere.

Inattentive staff. Waited to be seated, went to sit down and was told to go back to the entrance which we did. Then they sat us in the seats we had gone to sit in anyway. No one came to get our drink order so we went to that bar. Bar tender told us we needed to order at our seats. I asked one of the servers to order and they said we had to order at the bar. Finally got a drink and the prices didn’t reflect those in the menu. It’s was $88 (before tip) for three small glasses of wine.The floor at our feet was a puddle where I’m guessing someone had spilt a drink prior. We had let the man that seated us know about it but there was no attempt to clean it up the whole time we were there. Terrible all around!The music was good but with the way the seating is set up we couldn’t see the band anyway.

Amazing vibe, great music and wine

Service is terrible! We politely inquired about the portion of wine that I ordered, because we thought it looked too small. Then, surprisingly, all of the bar staff (except for one nice young lady) started to argue with us about it! Unbelievable attitude. Would give one star but the music was very good, so that redeemed the place a bit.

Popped in last Wednesday night when I was in NYC for a glass of wine and listen to the band when I had 2 hours to kill and has such a great time was back with friends on Friday night and danced the night away with people from all over. Great atmosphere, small & cozy with fantastic music, especially Scout on Friday night, he was simple amazing, and Matt, the bartender, is the best!! Cant wait to visit again on my next trip back to NYC.

From the hostess who professionally informed us we may be out of luck for a table but tried to get us one anyway, to the first class bartending, hit on all cylinders. Oh, and the light and tight jazz perfected the atmosphere.

We had a great time here. To our surprise there was live music on Friday evening. The music was awesome with 60s and 70s rock and roll genre! The singer was great and very interactive with the crowd ! We loved this bar better than the rooftop bar which is on top of the building. The server was polite and make excellent cocktails ! Food was great as well

Lovely spot. And the music is great. Its a serve yourself seating set up so you can either get lucky, sitting right in front of the musicians or end up around the corner. All in all, the sound is great and its an intimate spot. Definitely recommend for a date or even just to relax after a long day.

Its a very small part of the hotel lounge which is sepreated from the corridor by curtains!The live music is alright but nothing near a good Jazz bar!They have a sepreate special cocktails menu which has all the nice-looking tasty drinks in it but the server will not bring it to you so make sure to ask for it!Sitting is pretty limited and to some extent uncomfortable because they have half nuce sofas and half ottomans used as chair.Not good for large groups and a liitle loud/noisy for a jazz barAll in all, good drinks, mediocre music, not so-good sitting area

Nice atmosphere, but be mindful of the +$4 up charge for liquor neat or on the rocks. Not on the menu or mentioned by the servers, but will definitely see it on the bill.

Came here to help celebrate my birthday with friends. We had a great time and I highly recommend… great jazz set with a saxophonist and great cocktails! Will be back. I highly recommend getting reservations.

They say there is discrimination against Asians, but...The staff were very friendlyThe people singing only talked to tables other than ours, so I thought this was discrimination against Asians.They sang me separately and asked me to sing New York, New York. They asked me where I was from, and before I started singing, they said that people from South Korea had applied, which really brightened the mood.It was the best last night in New York

I do not recommend this jazz bar because I felt discriminated against as an Asian.I went in as the second guest and was assigned the smallest, corner seat.I was deceived into thinking that ‘all’ other empty seats were reserved, but that wasn’t the case.The service was also terrible.I felt the waiter had intentionally missed my order.If racism is the employees opinion, you are disqualified.In the short term, we lost customers.If racism is the store owners guideline, you dont qualify.Because I provided unpleasant comments and received unpleasant reviews,In the long run, you will lose customers.I spent my precious time and money here but had the worst experience.Fortunately, I left before my perception of New York was tainted.I do not recommend this jazz bar.

Excellent atmosphere, live jazz, food, snacks, good location and prices. If you are looking for a quiet place to talk and share in Manhattan this is a good option.

Of course its a JazzBar, but the noise was so loud that I couldnt speak at all.

One of the best jazz bars I have visited in New York; The attention I received from Ysanel was absolutely wonderful. I will definitely return on my next visit to the city.

The atmosphere is nice, but Asians are discriminated against in a friendly way. The female server greeted me kindly, so I entered in good spirits, but ended up in a corner seat. (It was a place where I couldnt see the jazz band at all.) When I asked to change my seat because I wanted to see the performance, they said I had a reservation that didnt exist and gave my seat to the next walk-in. I will never go again~ It was a shit experience^^ Thank you

Great jazz pub, good music, intimate interior. Lots of pluses and one significant minus. Lots of mosquitoes, I was bitten several times, the weather outside is 13C, early May. I havent seen mosquitoes anywhere else in NY except here. Unfortunately, they ruined my entire evening. The staff just shrugged and said they knew they were there but couldnt get rid of them
