Keep in mind the buliding is on the side Duane Reade. ID is required. Fast and friendly service, drinks was pretty good! Galway music was pretty loud. When it was time to leave, the security guard made me and my date stand outside in 15 degrees to wait 4 mins for our uber! I thought what was pretty inconsiderate being we were paying customers for well over 3 hours, and we couldn’t stand in the lobby for our uber to arrive for a few minutes to avoid the cold.

I enjoyed karaoke here, but just be aware that this establishment charges you sales tax for the subtotal including auto gratuity (for parties of 6 or more). In other words, it’s not the subtotal that’s being taxed, it’s the subtotal + auto gratuity that’s being taxed in the end.That said, the service is great but the interior atmosphere is a bit plain. No ambient lighting and no tambourines. If you just come for a no-frills karaoke session, you’ll be good to go. I really liked the fact that we didn’t have to buy a drink minimum, though. I would come again for the service but the room decor could use some work.

Had a business Holiday party here and enjoy it a ton! Great spot! Room was big enough for our startup to just our staff. Not the cleanest, and can feel dicey when you head out to the bar. But cant beat the location!

Visited the karaoke DUET 53 with a group of friends, get your own private room and a large selection of songs to choose from. Bar within the place which is handy. Was a great fun experience and a great ice breaker for the start of a good night. After a few drinks of course

Prices are fantastic, staff seems very nice as well.I actually havent sang here yet, but wanted to let people know that the entrance is actually on the North side of 53rd street, not close to where the Google maps pin location.The entrance is actually closer to where the pin drops if you plug in 273 W 53rd street (I asked Google to change this but not sure how long the process takes).If my first real visit is anything less than five starts Ill edit this review.

A pretty good karaoke experience. They had a good list of artists and songs...not every every songs but theyll have your favorites. $35/hour for smaller groups. There is a phone on the wall to order drinks which is dangerous. We spent over $50/person. But was worth it to change up from the clubs/ bars. 21+ only.

Nice time with friends and family, something different to do, drinks are good but food is not. Eat before u get there.

You can sing your heart out in your own private karaoke room in Manhattan... the place does need to train their employees to be a little bit more of a pleasing personality to their guests.

They suddenly decided to stop service 1 hour earlier than the listed times on their Google Maps profile. In fact, we specifically reserved time until 4 am, but they told us to leave at 3 am. They will charge you $50 for a bottle of sake that costs $15~25 retail. Aside from the poor service, the song selection is limited, and you will find many popular songs unavailable. We will not return.

If you are on a budget and just want to get drunk and have a good time, 5 stars. The location is great, the place is clean, and the bar tender is very generous with your drinks.BUT If you actually want to enjoy Karaoke and have a good time singing, maybe this isnt the place to go: the quality of their sound system is rather poor, their database is dated with limited selection, and the karaoke music videos are weird--there seem to be a fixed number of videos that they rotate for all songs...

Good service, and they provide free water the entire night. Good song selection too, my friends and I were able to find lots of songs we enjoyed, that are on the more alternative side. Reasonable prices, I think it was something like 20-25$/hr, which is not bad at all

This place needs to close! Limited food , the songs selection is outdated and not the real versions , karaoke machine is poor . Service was ok , but I was told to leave a bad review bc they didn’t have the service I needed . Yea don’t go here

Such a fun place!!! Super low cost and cheap hourly rates. We walked in on a Sunday evening. Cocktails were fantastic and there was a large song selection.

We were stuck in New York for an extra day due to snow and took a group of students here on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. The karaoke rooms were great and we had a blast. Ordered in food which arrived quickly. The song selection system, the microphones, and the sound where top notch. Im sure this place would be fun anytime. The prices were also really great as it was just what we were looking for.

The service is excellent, they are very attentive and the location is very clean. However, I have two issues with the place. One, the food item is very limited. My friend and I ordered something that resembled fried cheese balls with corn inside. Neither her and I enjoyed them. I was hoping for at least buffalo wings. Another is the lack of Spanish music.

I had a wonderful experience celebrating my birthday at this location! They team, Hiro, Jacky and Gowa were excellent! They for very accommodating and patient. Ive booked this location twice already!

This is my 3rd visit with Duet and so Ive been to all 3 of their locations. Same service here as I received at Duet 48 and 35. Their rooms are so clean and there is AC even in the smaller rooms. Theyve got excellent service and their drinks are nice and strong. You wont be disappointed when you go. Their rates are always reliable and you cant compare with other locations in the city!

Came here during vacation on a Sunday night with two of my friends. Lovely place with a great location, wide range for song selection, and very attentive service/staff. A special thank you to Hiro for helping us get started and being a great host! :)

I came here with a college club/group of friends and I had so much fun, the song selection was great and had a lot of different genres as well as a lot of different artists too even artists that you wouldn’t think they would have they had. I would definitely go here again the atmosphere here was great.

Went for a friends birthday last weekend. The private room was great, but unfortunately you couldnt see what song was coming up next so sometimes the person who requested a song wasnt in the room for the song. One of our microphones died, and instead of them bringing us a new one, we had to go to the front desk to swap them out.I liked that you could order food and drink from your phone, but there was a lack of effort to find the person who ordered the drink/food a couple times. This resulted in drinks going back and food being eaten by other people. It also took forever at one point to get drinks delivered. We eventually went to the bar to have them make the drinks we ordered in the room, but even that took forever. It was clear they were understaffed, but if Im ordering and tipping pre-drink delivery (no option to edit tip), timely delivery is expected. Eventually we went back to the room and just waited for our drinks.

I visit this location a lot. The staff is very awesome and the rooms are comfortable. We have very little thought beyond singing while we are there and the bar has a decent small selection. I have been to many Duets in the city, they are all good and accommodating, but I find the rooms just a little more comfy at 53 for me and my groups, which usually range from 3 to 10 people.

The company I had was fantastic!! So I may be rating this higher... Drinks are reasonable! A book-full of selections to choose from! Staff couldve been a bit more pleasant... Decor couldve been nicer... Only karaoke rooms, so you definitely need to go with a group.

Im a big fan of the Duet franchise, and their newer location in the midtown area is a great addition. Its a fun atmosphere and the staff is super friendly. The song selection is comprehensive, but theyre a little behind on getting newer songs into the rotation. Overall a great place to bring your friends and belt out some tunes in your own room. Go for happy hour before 8 and the prices are even more reasonable than they already are.

I went there for a friends birthday. They gave us the big room which is great for large groups - just make a reservation!They gave us a free wine bottle because it was a birthday.Good song selection, nice staff, insulated so you wont hear the singing from other rooms.

The karaoke rooms are very nice, so much fun.They have to get a handle on the time schedule. Give enough time for cleaning in between customer use. Drinks kind of pricey and watered-down. Microphones dont keep a long enough charge.

This is a great place to blow off some steam for a small group of friends... But for a larger group the price can get out of hand quickly. Music selection is decent, audio quality is good but nor great and the rooms are limited in how much you can move. Nonetheless it is a good place to have some fun on a Friday or Saturday with your friends as you unwind from the week.

The song selection is excellent! They have a ton of David Bowie songs! And Im sure there are others as well. The equipment worked fine. The room is comfortable. Drinks were good, mid-range price. 1 beer, 2 rum coke, $21 isnt bad for Manhattan. Will go there again.

Nice place with a good selection of music and when i went it was only $6 per hour per person. I mean, how can you complain really? Plus they have drinks and you can order food. Totally worth going to. Btw, I have no idea why this needs to be said but if you are drinking alcohol make sure to bring your I.D. Dont be a dummy! I saw a girl there super upset because she forgot her license and couldnt drink. Dont be that girl.

Decent pricing - they gave us a spacious room since they weren’t busy. song selection was decent though they were missing quite a bit of popular songs. searching for songs / using the remote was very confusing - seemed like our songs skipped or went missing

A place to sing your heart away and have a great time doing it. Rooms of all sizes to fit any party and great service. Drinks are a little pricey for the size of the drink and no food options although they do allow you to bring your own!

This was such a fun place, especially if you are into music. We spent 3 hours here and it literally felt it was only one hour. It ended much to soon. They had a large variety of songs, even songs that are rare and hard to find. I am a HUGE Toto fan and usually you will find one or two songs from them on the playlist, especially Africa, but they had their latest Album or recordings. I was excited. I would definitely suggest this place.

When you hear karaoke, you think a larger open area filled with a bunch of people, few are your friends but the majority being strangers. That could nerve nerve rattling especially if youre not big on being part of the public eye. This place takes that away by allowing mutual group of friends come together in their own private room, separate from strangers this allowing the shyer types to come out of unrequited shells as they are only amongst people they know. The place appears clean, drinks are sold as a group in the room or individually at the bar. Great for team building.

I really enjoy this place. The staff are very friendly and the drinks are well made. The rooms differ in size and some are certainly better than others but they are still good. It can get pricey the longer you are there but its worth it.

The atmosphere was sleek and cool! Great for large groups and nights out with friends. Workers are very nice and wont mind is you ask them questions. The microphones sometimes spazz, but if you let anyone know theyll fix it right away.

WATCH OUT!! They pad the bill. We would order 7 beers and they would bring 10 beers each time, thinking we weren’t paying attention. There were multiple times we would order one amount of something and they would send an increased amount like we wouldn’t notice. News flash, you would have gotten 5 stars from 15 people, now you’re going to get 1 Star from each of us since we all got ripped off. READ YOUR BILL!!!!!

Absolutely loved it here! The song selection is pretty expansive so for newer songs stick to the smaller binder.The IPad is pretty easy to navigate but be careful not to fat finger the pitch key while trying to work through the bottom menu.Drinks are served in pretty slim glasses but decent for pricing ($7 - $9) though my sister swears she saw the bartender put vodka in her tequila sunrise (bottle said dka where it wasnt covered in the persons hand).And you can bring in food, so definitely abuse this one and have fun while youre there. 🎶

I just had my daughters 10th Bday party here and it was amazing. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. The A/C worked great as it was one of the hottest days of the summer. The girls sang there hearts out and loved every minute of of it. They had all there favorite songs available and theres nothing 10yr old like more than singing. It was definitely a party my daughter will never forget.

Large selection of songs! However, we never received our drink order from the room and had to go directly to the bar to reorder. That being said, it was a fun time! The room we were in was huge and very clean.

We didnt have to wait long to get a room and there were a variety of sizes to choose from. There wasnt a song we couldnt find on their list, it was quite large. We ordered a bunch of food and drinks to our room and it came very quickly. We will definitely be back for another happy hour!

Great setup! Took off one star because the new iPad system should be tweaked to be able to browse lists without starting a search. Second star because the warning call preceding the start of the second hour was 1min. We stayed for a second hour, but I wasnt sure we were going to and I would have liked more notice. (The second warning was 10min.)

A fun way to spend an evening with friends. They have private rooms that hold up to 40 people and the rates are very reasonable. They also allow you to bring outside food. A large selection of cocktails to choose from at an acceptable price.

Brings me back to Japan, for the most part, whenever I come here. Premier DAM machines (semi-online without the miniデンモク & DAM☆とも features,) and the bar / food & drink service. This location is the best of all the locations! Highly recommended if you want to sing Japanese songs and have a good time with friends!They also have English, Chinese, Spanish and Korean songs, apparently. I havent checked them out myself yet.

Its fun for a group of people and they have every genre of music! its relatively cheap and the intimacy for each group is great! 9 dollars per person per hour, so I round it to 20 per hour, but the hour seems soooo long. its a great experience for friends.

Great place for karaoke. You can bring in food if u like. However, no drinks of any kind what so ever. So if you had a cup of soda you need to drink it all before u start or throw it in the trash. Great place to chill with your buds.

Karaoke Duet 53 is a staple for us. They have a great selection (beverage and song books!), private rooms and a great team. We have introduced so many of our friends to this hot spot and they all go back whether we are in town or not.

Private Karaoke room with my friends and a round of drinks?....sign me up. Karaoke DUET 53 is so much fun if you just want to make a bunch of noise and have a blast. All different sized room are great to accommodate groups of whatever size. And its affordable to boot.

This is the best karaoke spot in NYC. They have a huge number of rooms including several small ones for 5 or less people. My friends and I sang our hearts out for 2 hours. They have an iPad you can use to search and select songs. Their song selection is MASSIVE. See you again soon DUET!! 😻

I love karaoke and I love all the Duet chains. Ive been to this one the most out of the 3 but for no particular reason. Since its located on a basement level, cellphone service is pretty bad (depends on carrier). The best thing about the Duet chains is their marathon deal: from open to 8 PM, each person only pays $14. You will find no better karaoke deal elsewhere. Theyre not exactly the most up-to-date on most recent hits and they usually dont have the corresponding music video so if you care about that stuff then maybe reconsider going to the Duet chains.

I came for marathon on a Wednesday, it was only $12 to sing from 3pm till 8pm! I love this place! It wasnt crowded and they have tons of songs. New iPad for picking songs. You can adjust the column and echo yourself. My fav. Karaoke place in the city

Great karaoke spot that allows you to BYOF ( bring your own food) which is terrific to be able to eat before, during or after the singing session. The song books are in good condition listing the same number and variety of songs that most karaoke spots have. They have different private rooms available based on the size of your party and there is room at the bar too. Prices are reasonable and credit cards are accepted.

Very clean, comfortable, reasonably priced (both the hourly charge for the room and the price of drinks at the bar), great selection of songs, and overall a great experience. Would definitely go again.

They had no Japanese songs. They don’t even use the DAM music system anymore. Very limited song choice. The mics are not mixed well, the audio of the music is absolutely rubbish.Extremely disappointed. Will not come back.

Incredibly rude security guard yelled at us and false charges. They put us in a more expensive room that we didn’t book! Server only took our orders once over two hours. Feels fraudulent.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER AGAIN.I would give ZERO star is I could.Ive been a long-time customer, dating back to 2000s. For a long time, this place was fantastic. Friendly front & through services. Not anymore. In my last visit (very quiet Tuesday after 9pm), 90% of the rooms were vacant. Me & my company settled in a small room and called to order our drinks. The guy at the front answered, and he did not understand our order...and he HANG UP the phone and BURSTED into our room, SCREAMING and SHOUTING. All we wanted was Hendricks gin, neat. He did not understand this and blamed us and bursted into our room. We said thank you but no thank you and left. He was screaming F-word. This place has gone downhill, but it has reached the abyss. I will never, never, never, never, go back to this place.

Visited this place for the first time for a friends birthday. We had a great time singing along to some classics in a nice big room, there is a bar in the lobby area and the bartenders bring drinks to your room or you can get your Drink yourself. Also you can bring food from outside if you want.

We got there after 1am with no reservation. They were able to get us in right away. The servers made our drinks fast as well. We had room 17 for our group of 6.

Theyve got a wide selection of songs, in multiple languages. I found the tracks to be a little out of sync on most of the ones my group picked. Other than that, theyve got a decent sound system. Its great for a group.

It group was accused of smoking WEED in the room without any evidence. There were cameras in there but they declined to see it. The security guard aggressively kicked us out and started threatening us. All & all, I wish they wouldve stopped us on the spot if they really saw us smoking in the room from the camera.

We booked 1 that was meant for just 4 people and it was perfect! Key points about this place:* Dirt cheap prices. You cant beat the $4 per hour per person from Mon-Thu and $5 during weekends and slightly higher for night sessions.* Allows you to get food from outside* Can get food delivered to the place from outside. We got a Bday cake delivered and asked them to follow our cues and bring it in as a surprise. They happily obliged.* Pretty exhaustive selection of songs, not the recent most though* Each room here is sound proof, so youre group fun is not disturbed by the noise from neighboring rooms.* Phones in every room to place your drink orders without having to step out.* Open till late in the night.* Multple mics, so youre not competing for a mic.* Comfy sofa.* AC regulators for every room.Overall, perfect for a private Karaoke party! Getting a room here could be tough during weekends, so reserve an appropriate room as per your group size, a week in advance. They have few other branches in Manhattan btw.

They do not allow your own drinks, but have a water bottle (non-electeolyte) for $2, snacks for $/$$, and not many kpop or other. Still, they are nice and as gentle with people as they could be. I guess.

A massive collection of songs in multiple languages (Japanese, English, Korean, Spanish, Chinese), you can bring your own food and snacks though they also serve an array of items, not BYOB but they have a bar if thats desired.

It’s a pretty standard and basic Karaoke Bar. It’s not particularly inclusive with their song selections. They do have international artists and songs but they’re not updated with recent charts. The staff are very nice, helpful and quick with orders. They provide utensils since you can bring outside food. Their drinks, however, are extremely watered down. The facilities and rooms are clean (a bit weathered) but again, pretty basic. I prefer the karaoke bars in K-Town.

Duet is a wonderful karaoke chain with a great selection of American and east Asian karaoke songs. Duet 53 and Duet 48 are among the best in the city.

Its a lot of fun, priced right but not the best bartenders. They mess up simple drinks.

I absolutely love this place. It was an amazing experience and i loved it. This place allows you to bring food to your private karaoke room which is not bad since i think they only serve drinks. Also when searching through the tablet for songs, you will have some difficult time searching up specific songs and there are some tricks to searching and finding the songs, but youll get the hang of it.

Why would you name two of your locations Karaoke Duet 53 and Karaoke Due 35 and there on opposite locations of Manhattan, went to the wrong one and surprised random people in several rooms, need a refund of my balloon and friend’s love for not making it to the right one tonight!

One downside if you plan on ordering cocktails: they are full of ice and don’t contain much alcohol - I’d suggest drinking beforehand.Overall, it was such a fun experience getting a private room. Even our shy friends got the courage to sing!There is a very diverse list of songs available (including different languages) which was fun for our group. The staff was courteous and we had no issues. The group before our reservation finished 15 minutes late, so they extended our time to make up for it, which we appreciated.I would definitely recommend going with a group of friends and will probably come back to this place in the future.

Came here visiting from California with a few friends and family and this place was absolutely great!We were not aware that you need a reservation for this kind of place but The staff were extremely nice and the bouncer was super helpful with getting us a room last minute !! if you’re looking for a place with respectful staff and cleanliness space with private rooms this is it! Also the music here is a bit outdated could definitely use an update on some more artist and songs..Lastly you can’t bring outside drinks in even water that’s un opened witch is kind of ridiculous but still I give it a 4/5 definitely would recommend!!

We had a great time (song selection, and room size) until the end when the bouncer accused our group of smoking in the room, when we didn’t. We also were the last group in the place, and when we tried to leave, they kept yelling at us to leave when we were already on the way out. They also said don’t come back, when we were trying to defend ourselves for not smoking in the room. So yeah, we don’t want to come back anyway. It’s so disappointing because we liked the place, but not if they treat customers like that.

Fun place to come with a group. I first came here with some co workers after work. Had a lot of fun and they had good cheap drinks and good snack menu. Will definitely go back. I am still looking for some songs I think should be added to there sing list lol.

OK prices, good music selection, private room

This is a cute spot. Aside from not having much of their listed drink options they have decent music options. my reason for the three stars is that the music had a lag, or was sometimes too fast to keep up with the songs. Also we had to figure out how to navigate. no instruction.

Visiting NYC for the holidays, and this is legitimately the most fun thing I have done so far. The staff are very nice, and you get your own room with your friends to pick songs and jam out on your own.In addition to regular beer and spirits, they serve sake and Japanese snacks. Their song selection is THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE I have ever seen. I never rate places but wow was this fun. Worth every penny!

Ive been coming here for karaoke for years.... nuff said. Well I guess Ill elaborate. They have private rooms for any party size, even if its just 2 people. They have a wide variety of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic, to choose from. And even better the song selection! Thousands of songs to pick from, so everyone gets a chance to sing their heart out, well unless someones a mic hog. And lastly the staff. They are always so friendly and helpful. Just love this place! Definitely recommend

Just like any of their sister sights Duet53 was just as exemplary. They were very accommodating and everyone had a blast. The room we got was well kept and clean. Spacious and comfortable. Want to go back as soon as possible!

I definitely don’t recommend this karaoke. The personnel was not welcoming, then when we opted for 1 hour rent of the room, but we were charged for 1h30 because we joined randomly a group of other people who for singing 2 more songs. The device initially was not working and we lost 10 min of rent time to understand how it worked and they stopped us before the one full hour.

They stopped using JoySound system so the Japanese songs were all very old and outdated. We couldn’t find 80% of the songs we wanted and had to go on a nostalgia trip…Wouldn’t come back until they switch to a more up-to-date system.

It was pretty nice for my first time, but there was a lot of difficulties in our room. Music selection was out of wack, problems with volume control, and bad feed back from the speakers. Other than that, I enjoyed the time with family.

Had a blast and stayed until 6 in the morning. Good place to hang out after watching a broadway show at night and if you need to place to stay in the city. Best thing is you can bring your own food.

This place was awesome! They had a great selection of songs, everyone was so nice, the rooms were private, and it was very clean. The best part? This is the best price Ive paid for karaoke! Ill be back!

Good hourly prices, especially on weekdays. Very attentive and friendly staff. Great prices on drinks and snacks, and they will give you an extensive menu of nearby restaurants that deliver directly to your karaoke room, although some have actually gone out of business or at least changed their phone number.

Nice place, just need more selections and accurate lyrics but overall its a very nice place. I definitely recommend this place. I only gave it 4 stars cause theres a lot of music that they dont have.
