I would give it 6 stars if I could. Gurumé was hands down one of the best dining experiences my boyfriend and I have had in quite some time. From the attentiveness of the staff to the incredible flavors of the food- we left soo happy. We ordered the recommended 6 tapas and literally every single one was incredible, our top two favorite included the scallop crudo and the soy garlic wings. The soju based cocktails are also amazing. There was a small snafu at the bar and the bartender went around and gave everyone free shots as an apology. I simply cannot commend this team’s customer service enough!!!!! If you’re even considering Korean food for dinner, please let this be your choice.Everything we ordered: scallop crudo, brussel sprouts, soy garlic wings, oyster mushroom tacos, corn and cheese ribs, harvest bowl, steak and potatoes, black sesame bread pudding
My friend and I made a reservation for Gurumé at 7pm on a Saturday. I would recommend making a reservation if you are dining around this time, as it was packed! However, the crowd had dissipated by 8:30pm, so if youre looking for a later evening bite, its definitely slower. I would also recommend not dining at peak hours because it was so loud. Decor is your average, upscale vibes, but the tables are really close together to maximize the amount of people in the space. We ordered crispy corn and cheese ($14), oyster mushroom taco ($17), berkshire kimchi fried rice ($19), scallop crudo ($19), and pork & radish bossam ($19). We also ordered the black sesame bread pudding for dessert ($11). Overall, the food was flavored well and tasty. Youre paying entree prices for appetizer portions, but it makes sense for the location. If I came back, I would skip the kimchi fried rice and scallop crudo. The fried rice was nothing special, and I have had better experiences with simpler ingredients; the scallop crudo was overpowered by the other flavors, losing the taste of the scallop. The bossam was so moist and juicy, with fantastic natural flavoring, though the other components did enhance the flavor. I would only recommend the corn if you are a corn lover and none of the other appetizers appeal to you. The mushroom taco had a great combination of flavors and the spice kick was mild. If youre a dessert person, the bread pudding was delectable, great black sesame flavor and the bread was also moist.Service was outstanding. We were originally seated next to a large party, and they later moved us to a table further away where it was quieter. There were many checkbacks throughout the evening, and they definitely make you feel like you are valued as a customer. I would recommend Gurumé for a fancy night out and people in your party can talk loudly.
Great service, delicious food, and nice ambiance. Attentive service, each dish was served with an explanation on ingredients/prep and water glasses were refilled consistently throughout the meal. Went on a low peak day, Tuesday evening, so wasnt packed but nice of them to let us chill a bit and chat even after paying without the staff rushing us out. Everything was really good with decent sized portions, party of 4, we all left feeling full and satiated. Def try the black sesame bread pudding, personally not a huge bread pudding fan but would eat that for dessert everyday! Spent about $60 pp with tip. Highly recommend:)
The dinner was amazing, each dish was better than the next. Cocktails were also delicious. Definitely try to scallop and the tuna tartar. Our waitress, Ji, was wonderful and gave us great food recommendations.
Absolutely amazing!! Kat is the BEST and made the experience so enjoyable. All of the tapas were delicious. 10/10 recommend visiting while in NYC!
Welcoming atmosphere, friendly waiter, amazing food!!! Absolutely loved every dish we ordered.
Everything was amazing.Kimchi fried rice is delicious, and the chicken wings were crispy and perfectly cooked. The Birria Mandu were absolutely amazing and we had to order a second plate.Kat took outstanding care of us the whole time with great recommendations and making sure our soju was always full.
Met up with friends from high school here for a little catch up. The space is cute, the staff were super friendly and attentive, and the food & drinks were very tasty!! The drinks were the right amount of sweet and paired well with the food flavors. Specifically, I loved the oyster mushroom tacos, truffle dduk and cheese, and black sesame bread pudding to top it all off, because the dessert is delicious. Would definitely recommend to friends and come back!
Simply me and my wife loved every dish that came to the table and the service was amazing. 😍😋100/100
We had an incredible Valentine’s Day dining experience here. Great service and every table got its own rose. We had about 5-6 plates to share and they were all delicious! My favorites were the fried mushroom tacos & mushroom harvest bowl. Must give this place a try!
AMAZING!!! 🤩 Absolutely loved this place and would 1000% recommend. As I’m writing this review, my mouth is watering just thinking about the delicious Korean Tapas and phenomenal drinks. We stumbled across this place on our way to our dinner reservation. We were a little early for the reservation and wanted to grab a quick drink and appetizers. This place was the star of the show. Our server was a whole vibe. She was incredible and seemed to just meld perfectly with the atmosphere of the restaurant. She gave recommendations right off the bat. And they did NOT disappoint. I cannot express how impressed I was with the whole place. I cannot wait to return.
I really enjoyed everything here! The food and drinks were so pretty and tasted amazing. The prices on the menu were very reasonable as well. Tried the oyster mushroom tacos, steak and potatoes, baby back ribs, and kimchi fried rice, and bread pudding. Everything was so yummy definitely recommend trying the food here after a Broadway show or if you’re just in the area. My fave dish here would def have to be the steak and potatoes though. Don’t forget to also try their bread pudding for dessert it was so good and not overly sweet! Service here is amazing too everyone was so kind.
Objectively this is a great tapas place. Menu is quite limited though but the items we ordered were all delicious. It’s a little bit loud for my preference but that’s good for business! Get your reservation in advance as this place gets crowded quickly. The bar seats are almost always open though
I was very skeptical coming in, but this Korean inspired tapas restaurant was fantastic! Tapas restaurants are the best and this one doesnt disappoint. Complementary chips to start. The Korean fried chicken was my fave, the best Ive eaten outside of Korea in a while- light crunchy double-fry (or similar technique) and tender. The veggies and bossam were also delicious. Came in Friday evening and the place was packed with lots of energy, but the service was still very attentive. Prices were very reasonable for portion size and quality (standard NY). I also appreciate chefs for applying Korean ingredients in a new way, successfully.
Nice cocktail with yummy food. We tried pretty much everything on the menu, the brussels sprouts, chicken wings, steak and potatoes. The harvest bowl is a must try, also the black sesame bread pudding. Service is also very good, a hidden gem in Hell’s kitchen!
Attentive service by Adam and his support staff. Cool vibe. Delicious tapas. Especially enjoyed the cocktails and each dish was carefully crafted. Highly recommend!
The food is very good (ribs were just ok) however everything else had great flavor. The drinks were simple yet flavorful. The service was high energy but my wife and I did appreciate the attentiveness. The shining star was the black sesame bread pudding. Easily could’ve had 2.Atmosphere is a bit loud. Couldn’t hear separate conversations but a bit noisy over all.Over all I would come back
The food at this place is incredible. Everything has amazing flavor, the portion sizes are great - especially for tapas, the service was so attentive and spot on our entire visit. 10 out of 10 visit - would absolutely eat here again.Meal highlights/would absolutely order again - sesame bread pudding, the steak, spicy chicken, birria dumplings, cheesy rice cakes, and literally any drink on the menu. So good.
Garume is worth the hype. The service was very attentive and impeccable; Ji was great for our table. The food was AMAZING. The mushroom tacos did indeed slap. Absolutely come.
Food and service was exceptional! We tried the steak, tuna, mushrooms, chicken wings, and fried rice. Each one was unique and delicious. I liked how the servers gave personal recommendations and explained each dish as they came out. The servers had excellent attention to detail (refilling waters, asking to take empty plates, etc).
EXCELLENT food — everything was so flavorful!! A great choice to split with friends. Every drink we ordered was delicious as well. Everything from mild, refreshing drinks to sweet drinks for everyone’s palette. Especially loved the Jadu and Dalgona! Definitely would love to come back for more. Also had great vegetarian options!!
Came here after seeing a show and the food was incredible! Ordered the crispy corn, kimchi fried rice, and the steak and potatoes. Everything was perfectly balanced and great portions to share. Kat recommended we ended with the black sesame bread pudding which was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. not too sweet! Thanks for the great service Kat and Gabe!
What a fantastic gem for Korean tapas! We had such a lovely evening trying out a selection of new foods. Our favourites were the birria bone marrow dumplings, and the ribs. The staff were also super friendly.
Food and service are top notch. It’s the place you go for novel food that challenges staples you’re used to. Had a great meal and didn’t need to order many dishes, all for a reasonable price. The sake and jejudo drinks were delicious.
We were just walking down the street and were pulled in by the menu on the street; Kat graciously seated us despite the kitchen closing in 10 minutes, was absolutely lovely, and the food was SO worth stopping!!!!! Incredibly delicious; everything still had traditional Korean elements, even with outside influence and twists. The cocktails were refreshing, fun, and imaginative, the jejudo and oi especially. We will most definitely be back with more friends so we can try everything on the menu!!
Gurume is a hidden gem in the heart of NYC theater district. It offers a delightful fusion of traditional flavorful Korean cuisine with a modern twist. The ambiance provides you a young bustling vibe, warm lightning and vibrant murals. Staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and courteous.Gurume offered Korean inspired cocktails, premium soju and traditional teas to accompany the dishes.
Words can’t describe enough of this place. Coming from Denver the service at Gurume is top notch. Bar tender James makes excellent martinis. Ambiance is high and relaxing. You have to try the tuna tartar a world of flavor and exquisite experience. Thank you for the experience and hospitality Leo, James, and the team at Gurume!
Josephine on the bar (Tuesdays and Thursdays) was fantastic. Food was great, unexpected but delicious flavors. Tried the Brussel Sprouts and the Crispy Corn.
I’ve never had Korean tapas and I was really impressed. Great mix of refreshing and fruity plates as well as rich and creamy. Highly recommend the scallop crudo and the bread pudding for dessert. Huge selection of soju and unique cocktails. Looking forward to coming back.
Cute spot open late. We were greeted very nicely even though we walked in super late on a Wednesday evening. The cheesy corn was amazing, as well as the steak and potatoes. The grilled asparagus was a bit too overwhelmed with condiments and sauces. The dessert churros were also a bit bland, especially the ice cream. We had a great time though and would come back to try more dishes!
Service was amazing! Our waiters were so kind and welcoming! Adam was so gentle and understanding of our group of 9, we will definitely come again next time!!! The food was delicious and perfect before a night out in the city!
Stopped in after a show and was pleasantly surprised!! Such care and service that I had to share and Estrella and Kevin were such a delight!! Food was amazing and the service was impressive (I had no clue what to order). When I return Ill come back again 😀
Had an AWESOME experience! Truly a unique take on tapas. Everything we had was bursting with flavors. Highly recommend the scallop crudo, amberjack ceviche, and steak and potatoes (they make their fermented chimichurri in house). Very attentive staff, everyone was warm and friendly. As they say, details are everything - we ordered two lucky cats and upon arrival, slate coasters and frosted glasses accompanied the beers. Not to mention, the timing of each tapas plate was perfect. And what’s more is the service would tell you how to properly maximize the flavors of each dish to ensure optimal enjoyment. Felt like a Michelin star experience. Cannot recommend this place enough!
When you walk in to this place you are immediately greeted. Service is very good and Adam, one of the bartenders, is very knowledgeable. Even if you know nothing about Korean Cuisine or Tapas for that matter, you will learn and you will enjoy. Highly recommend the “Pork & Radish Bossam” appetizer. Worth the stop in to this restaurant.
Stunning new find. The tapas are exquisite. Professional and friendly staff! Great location. Definitely a must!
The food was outstanding!! Everything we had was sensational. Went for a quick meal before a Broadway show and it was perfect! Wine list can be better but the cocktails were creative. Highly recommended and looking forward to going back!
Such a good spot for before or after a show. Food was delicious and servers were so attentive and friendly. We got the kimchi fried rice, spicy chicken and cheese, crispy corn and cheese, asparagus, tuna tartar, and steak and potatoes. One dish was better than the next!!! Not sure we could pick a favorite out of the bunch. For dessert we got the bread pudding which was divine. Shout out to Ji you’re the best!!! :)
Amazing food and service! Very attentive waitstaff, who made excellent recommendations from the menu. Can’t recommend highly enough, just an overall great experience. Try the bread pudding.
Great food but they forgot about allergies that were disclosed at the beginning of the meal. They tried their best to make it up by comping the item with the allergen and providing a free dessert but what made the honest mistake sour was that one of the staff members tried to down grade the seriousness of the allergy saying “don’t worry it’s not that serious my friend also has that allergy too it’s not that big of a deal, you’ll be fine”. Luckily realized allergen was present and was able to take some Benadryl right away but not really the experience you want at a restaurant. Was not an anaphylactic allergy but had some hives that lasted a couple days. Was really excited to try the place and I had brought my friends there but the experience makes me nervous to return. Would likely just go to another restaurant out of paranoia. Also just be careful non alcoholic drinks and alcoholic drinks have the same names. It was also a pretty quiet night with 2 other tables and it was pretty slow service + forgetfulness of an allergy.
The food here is amazing! The staff were super friendly and the drinks were refreshing, just be aware that serving portions are tapas portions, so smaller than you may be used to.
Adam was our server, he was super attentive with our table and amazing at presenting the food and drinks!
Every dish is crafted to perfection. The black sesame bread pudding is divine — but the real standout is the kind and amazing staff!
Some of the best service I’ve experienced. It was truly service you’d find in a Michelin restaurant. Amazing attention to empty plates, and water glasses, and how dirty table was. Food was fantastic and extremely affordable. Drinks were a bit sweet for my liking (I got their take on a “martini”, but overall excellent experience and would return. Oh also the corn-cheese dish was incredible!!!
We ordered almost one of every item on the menu and not a single dish disappointed!!!The small tapas style dishes were great for sharing and perfect for our group of 4 leaving us all full and impressed by the top tier quality. The Korean fried chicken, oyster mushroom tempura tacos, and steak and potatoes were all stand out, but not a single dish disappointed. The drinks which were primarily soju, sake, and wine focus were all incredible!12/10 would recommend.
Staff was super patient and friendly, and they gave us great recommendations feom the menu.Food was AMAZING - you’ve gotta try the grilled asparagus and the bread pudding. If you like coconut, get the Jejudo soju
Had a really great meal here with some close friends. Our server Gabe helped guide us thru the menu and was so helpful. The food was super delicious and loved all the variety. Great meal pre theater or a cute date night. Fried chicken for the win!
My friend and I came for a pre-show dinner and had the best experience! Everyone was super kind - the bartenders, manager, bussers, and particularly our server Arianna. Great food and environment. Will absolutely come again!!
Delicious tapas style Korean fusion food! Some favorites are the Tuna tartare and the scallops. Really enjoyed the service and the ambiance as well. Will definitely come back!
What a fun and delicious dining experience. We LOVED our dinner here!!Favorite dishes: Brussel sprouts, birria mandu, bread puddingNote the restaurant is VERY loud
Just 10/10. Great food, drinks and service. James and Leo delivered such a great experience to us. On the drinks side, Origami was our favorite.
ALL of the staff welcomed us as soon as we walked into Gurumé in the most fun way (you will have to go in to find out for yourselves)! The food was spectacular! Each small dish was better than the last (I dont say that often...Im picky).Ji (our server) was attentive, personable, knowledgable about the food, and very fun! She timed our plates well, knew when we wanted more wine, but also gave us space to enjoy the food and our conversation when appropriate. WORTH IT!!!
All food was EXCELLENT!! I LOVED the kimchi fried rice, bossam, and truffle dduck especially. Some of the best Korean tapas I’ve had in New York! Great service and great portions!! 100% would go back.
Came here at 5pm and got seated immediately. Food was great. The servers (Kat especially), gave excellent food recommendations.Recommend the corn and beef+potatoes especially!
I made a reservation for myself and two friends for a Thursday at 6:15 (Note - if you cancel less than 6 hours prior, you get charged $10 per person). It was pretty packed at that time. For drinks, I had the Jejudo mocktail (grapefruit, coconut, pineapple). It reminded me of a pina colada, and it was nice and refreshing. Since everything is tapas style, we ordered a few dishes to share:-Baby back ribs (citrus dwenjang, perilla tempura, gochujang corn puree) - this had a good flavor to it. Although the meat fell off the bone, the meat was still somehow dry-Fried chicken wings (soy garlic, radish kimchi) - again nice flavor, but the batter was too thick. Youre eating more batter than you are chicken-Charred romanesco (romanesco cauliflower, tingling chojang, creme fraiche) - this was my favorite dish. It was very unique and I loved how the creme fraiche balanced out the spice-Truffle dduk & cheese (brown butter korean rice cake, six cheese sauce, crunchy quinoa, crostini) - this reminded me of mac and cheese, and I liked it - especially with the thin crostini-Seafood kalguksu (knife cut noodles, haemul broth, manila clams, seasonal seafood) - a little basic. Not sure it was worth the $23-Scallop crudo (hokkaido scallop, fermented chili vinaigrette, ruby red grapefruit) - I couldnt partake in this one since I am pregant but it looked really good/refreshing-Black sesame bread pudding (warm black sesame bread pudding, vanilla bean gelato, candied almonds) - aside from the cauliflower, this was the other dish of the night that I loved. You could really taste the black sesame, and I loved the candied almondsOverall, it seems the dishes are hit or miss. I wasnt hungry afterwards, but I definitely wasnt full, so just something to keep in mind in case youre super hungry since the menu isnt exactly cheap. Service was really great though - everyone we interacted with seemed very kind.
Fantastic place. Food are delicious, the service is great.
All the tapas were amazing, and really reasonable happy hour! We came right before a Broadway show which is very close by and the service was great (Ji) was our waitress. Our favorites were the happy hour Brussels, asparagus, and corn.
This Korean tapas spot is a hidden gem. My favorite was the galbi steak and potatoes, marinated perfectly and so tender. The attentive staff guided us through their innovative harvest menu, making the experience even better. We had the korean escargot which came in a delicious garlic confit sauce, kimchi fried rice that had a nice kick, and the korean yuzu wings that were tempura battered perfectly. Drinks were also phenomenal.
Kat was such a fantastic server. We came with a big group for a friends birthday and she was so great and gave us the best recommendations.
Ji was amazing! Food is so good! Try the truffle dduk
Amazing Korean tapas near Broadway - a great post-show treat! Definitely get the rice cakes and the bread pudding dessert. Great service from Gabe and Kat.
Had a wonderful experience at Gurumé. Our waitress, Ji, was extremely helpful in suggesting popular and favorite dishes of hers. The food was exquisite and so unique. Tons of flavor in every bite! We especially enjoyed the oyster mushroom tacos, scallop crudo, and the corn.
I’m so happy I stumbled upon this amazing restaurant. While the food was awesome the service and attentiveness of the staff was off the charts. The Black Sesame Bread Pudding might be the best dessert to ever touch my lips.
YUM!! They have a unique selection of Korean Tapas—a first for us. The drinks were tasty and the staff were super friendly and gave us recommendations. Just try it!
One of the best Korean places in town (especially for vegetarians!). The service is great. We had the pleasure of being served by Adam, who was a fantastic host for us and really made us feel welcome. 10 on 10 - will definitely go again!
Trust Kat for her recommendations! Some very creative dishes with excellent flavors. They just need to get some Jinro Fresh Soju and theylll automatically increase to 5 star.
Stunning food. Exceptional service. And I finally found a good red wine. This is a new restaurant that is UP AND COMING! Get there while you can still get a table. Best food we had in New York.
Great service, no wait even at rush time, and delicious food
Food was super delicious! Had such a good time. Gabriel was great and had amazing recommendations. My favorites were the ribs with the perilla tempura, the oyster taco, and the fried rice. For dessert, you have to try the bread pudding!
Ji was amazing 👏 food was excellent, service top notch. Our favorite was the scallops!
AMAZING food and service. Brussel sprouts came out and immediately knew this was going to be a great experience after the first bite. Ji was a great server and very helpful with questions and recommendations! All staff kept the water cups filled all night. I would come back for service alone but the food was phenomenal. Spicy chicken and cheese was full of flavor and the sauces for every dish were amazing.
Loved, loved, loved our experience here. I highly recommend it. The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was beyond our expectations.you will not be disappointed if you love a twist to traditional Korean dishes.
Their ribs are the best weve ever experienced, period. They are the pure definition of fall off the bone 🤤 their drink selection is top tier and highly recommend the Summer sky for its refreshing zest. (Its also served in a very pretty way but Ill leave that up to you to discover 😉)The wings are perfectly crispy and very very hot (temperature wise). Each one of their entrees have exceeded all expectations and would definitely recommend coming back.Their black sesame bread pudding is by far the grand finale of the experience at Gurumé! The cold vanilla ice cream perfectly balances the fresh warmth of the bread pudding. Being located right next to Riu Hotel is the perfect pairing for a great night out to unwind from a day out in the city. 10000/10
I understand why they only have 5 stars now- everything was incredible! From the attentiveness of the service to the flavorful food- wow!I got the tacos, the harvest bowl and the dessert- each dish was bursting with flavor with the right balance of different textures. The waiter was so nice and welcoming, I felt really well attended to. If I didn’t live elsewhere, I would be a regular here.A must visit!
Gurumé was fabulous from start to finish. Highly recommend. Every dish we couldve licked the plate clean. Cant wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Creative cuisine, absolutely delicious. The cocktails were also amazing. Top-notch service. Attention to small details show they really care!!! Dont miss this spot- its soooooo good.
The food was fantastic—I highly recommend the steak and potatoes. Also, Kat and Gabe provided excellent service. I will definitely come back!!
Food was ok nothing special and both my dishes lacked flavored. Maybe other dishes are better 🤔. Expensive for what it is. Service was fine.
Delicious recommend the ribs ans the tuna tartare. Cocktails could be a bit stronger 😉Service is fast, jai is so kind and they seem to care about the indivual quality flavor of their dishes
Good food, amazing drinks, nice service, but the place is a little bit loud. Might need to improve their sound proof. All the food/drink were great and high-quality, but small portion. Definitely recommend the bread pudding dessert!!!
Absolutely delicious, loved everything on the menu! The waiters were also so knowledgeable about every plate they served our table, showing the attention to detail and dedication. Cocktails were also yummy. It wasn’t too crowded on a Sunday night. Definitely bookmarking to come back soon :)
Cool and unique dishes. Service is incredibly attentive and nice. Definitely worth a try if you want something different
Food came out quickly and was absolutely incredible!! The birria mandu and the corn and cheese were highlights but def make room for the bread pudding at the end. Ji was absolutely great and so sweet on top of it all, will be back. :)
Just had dinner here and everything was wonderful. Had a social draft beer special beer that caught my attention and made me want to come in. As soon as I came in, I was welcomed by the amazing staff, who were very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing. It comes in smaller portions so you are able to try out different stuff in the menu without filling yourself up too much. Everything was amazing and I would definitely recommend people to come here
Food was awesome, definitely will be back again. Best tapas places I’ve been to in a while
We had the most delicious return visit to Gurume. We first went at the end of January and adored it. Could not wait to return Last night was our second visit. We couldn’t have enjoyed it more. Such flavor packed and creative dishes, one after the other. Definitely try the corn ribs, the mushroom bowl and the steak and potatoes. We also enjoyed mushroom tacos and fried wings. Perfect location for pre theatre dinner. Happy helpful staff. We will be back soon!
Straight VIBES. Came here straight from a Broadway show and the party continued all thanks to the wonderful staff here, especially Gabriel. My guy was awesome ask him for the Black Funaguchi
Fantastic food and amazing service. The cocktails were really delicious as well. They also went above and beyond for my friends birthday celebration.
This place is amazing! The food and service were both incredible. The staff was so friendly, Well definitely be back soon. Congratulations to the chef and the service staff.
Had a great time here with my boyfriend. Such a nice, cozy feel to the place with such friendly staff. The food was phenomenal and Im definitely going to go back. The drinks were also great - light and went perfectly with the dishes. We ordered the spicy chicken, tuna tartar, pork and radish kimchi, and the oyster mushroom tacos. They have a good amount of options for vegetarians as well which was nice to see. If you want a cute spot to go to with friends or family, I highly recommend Gurume.
Food is so delicious, and the cocktails are even better! Love our server Jii!
Great food and service! Everything was flavorful and fresh. Recommend the drink with the basil, pineapple and yuzu. The staff was super attentive and sweet.
Came here before a show and thought it was cute. The food was okay, pretty pricey for just tapas. We ordered the chicken wings, brussel sprouts, corn and cheese, and 2 drinks. We were lucky to be able to catch happy hour which I believe they said was from 4-7pm: $2 off wine, $6 beers, $10 cocktails, apps ($10 fried chicken, corn and cheese, $9 brussel sprouts?). Found the brussel sprouts to be tart, maybe a little too much sauce? The chicken was very crispy and had good flavor but it was a bit dry. Corn and cheese was delicious. The drinks were good also, they took a while to come out. For dessert we got the toffee bread pudding with candy almonds and ice cream, that had to be our favorite part of the meal. It came piping hot and so yummy.
Amazing place and amazing food! Much congrats to the Chef and his team. They did a wonderful job of showing off Korean-inspired flavors in a unique way! Highly recommend anyone visiting NYC to most def. check out Gurume! Will def. be back!!
Fabulous, lively spot for interesting, delicious Korean small plates, steps from the Theatre District. Staff is friendly and helpful, and they keep things moving along swiftly, even if you ask for your shared plates come out one at a time as separate courses. The scallop dish pictured was absolutely sublime. As others have noted, the bread pudding is unique and not to be missed. My party of two came away with 3 plates + dessert and felt perfectly satisfied ... and happy.
Must go, new favorite spot in Hell’s Kitchen. Really nice concept and every tapas dish was unbelievable. Truffle potato, harvest mushroom salad, fried chicken wings, tuna tartar, mushroom tacos, spicy chicken are all must order. 2-3 tapas per person is reasonable. tea is a nice touch. Come here before it’s packed and you can’t get a resi. I will be going every day henceforth
The food is incredible, perfect place to bring a group of friends
Visiting NYC and found this Korean tapa place! The food and drinks were great! Our server Gabriel really made our night 😊
Everything was incredible- food was delicious and drinks are yummy and strong. Service was 10/10!!!! Everyone needs to come and try!!!
Great dishes! Love the steak and potatoes as well as the mushrooms!! Good service as well :)
Mushroom tacos were great, service was great, they have inventive dishes, and incredible flavors with Michelin like quality. The scallops are excellent as well.
Went with a large group and pretty much tried everything on the menu. Every single plate was more delicious than the last. This was a great experience.Soju drinks are amazing as well!
Great small tapas plate, would really recommend the corn & cheese and the mushroom crispy bowl! Friendly staff and great service :)
Terrific meal with great fun vibe — friendly helpful staff, excellent upscale cocktails, and delicious small plates. Great addition to Theater District options. Will definitely be back .
I rate this place pretty high, you can taste quality ingredients and cooking techniques in each dish.
Really delicious and beautiful dishes. The birria mandu were probably my favorite. Great for sharing
I loved it the first time a few weeks back so I had to come again to celebrate my girls birthday! Food was innovative and the cocktails really yummy. I would keep coming back until I try everything on the menu. My favorites are the birria mandoo and oyster mushroom taco. You cannot leave without the bread pudding!
Tried this on a Saturday evening, food was outstanding! We tried the crispy corn, steak & potatoes, khimchi fried rice and the oyster mushroom tacos. Everything was fresh & flavorful.it was quite busy when we walked in and a bit too noisy for our liking. Food came in quite quickly to the extent we didn’t get our drinks till after 3 of the 4 dishes arrived. When we enquired, the server told us the bar is a bit busy which is understandable but it would’ve been nice if that was communicated when we placed the order.I also noticed that the same server offered free shots to the table right next to us when they asked for their check. While free shots are not my preference, I do look for consistency in service. Will probably order a delivery next time instead of going here
Waauw what an experience !@gurumé Kate ❤️ we would recommend this place to anyone!
Delighted with this place, pleasant atmosphere, super friendly staff, all the recommendations they made to us were simply delicious! 🤤🤤We tried corn and cheesecake steak and potatoes, baby back ribs and the black sesame bread pudding WOW!
Excellent flavors, total party in your mouth. Refreshing and creative drinks and THE FOOD hits every mark! Tuna tar tar and the corn ribs were favorites and the birria mandu was divine! Service is amazing, ask for Ji!
What a great find!We stumbled upon this place during its soft launch and LOVED IT! We just saw tapas but the incredibly welcoming and friendly staff drew us in.Everything was delicious. Literally everything. Our waitress recommended 4-6 plates each since theyd be small but we found that to be too much. We did three plates each. The Mushroom Harvest bowl was out of the world - so homey, and I ate every last bite. The Steak and Potatoes are a MUST TRY. Must. The Kimchi Fried rice is also just as delicious, as was the crispy corn and cheese. Topped all that off with a Fresh Evening soju cocktail and it felt like summer, even though it was December. We will be going back. This place stands out in a city with countless restaurants. Try it.
This restaurant is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in NY! My favorite is Kimuchi fried rice, tartar and wings. Also you should order a cocktail too! Staff are super friendly and nice as well✨
Phenomenal service. Adam was very welcoming and treated our table well. Food was also delicious!
From the moment I walked in and all the staff welcomed me with a loud firm voice, I knew the service was going to be good. I have never tried korean fusion tapas but every dish was amazing. The executive chef Joon did a phenomenal job in elevating korean cuisine into a casual drinking style setting. Highly recommend anyone to check out this spot.
Everything we ate and the service was amazing! The wait staff, especially our server Diana, were super attentive. Definitely recommend!
Post theater decided to look at two places, one of which was Gurume. We stopped there first around 9:45 on Thursday and the lack of a crowd suggested we should peek at a second place despite the incredible reviews here . A couple exiting noted our hesitance and said, you have to eat here so we did. And yes, another five star review. Fantastic surprise. One group took a photo with the whole staff and I jumped in cause it was amazing.
Came here on a friday dinner, did not disappoint! ordered the chicken wings (literally so delish), truffle tteokbokki, and steak and potatoes! enjoyed the chicken wings and steak a lot :-). however, the steak took a bit while to come out so they gave us dessert on the house! love the service, and would come back here again!
Food was very good! Staff was very kind ( especially Ji, our waitress).Would definiltely recommend!
Great drinks, food & service! Second time here 💕 it 👍🏼
This place was great! I would highly recommend eating here! It was so good. The mushroom tacos are a must have!
Kat was an amazing server! Came for a birthday party and was a great time! Would recommend
No words! Each dish is perfectly curated. On top of that, the drinks are delicious. The ambience is perfect for a friends night out or a date night. Would definitely come again!
One of my new go-to NYC spots for excellent cuisine.Their soju elixirs are refreshing and some of the tastiest Ive ever had. If you like pina coladas the Jejudo will be your favorite! Their lineup of cocktails perfectly complements their delicious tapas. A few of my favourite dishes were the Truffle Potatoes, the spicy chicken and cheese , and the Truffle Dduk and Cheese. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Ill definitely be back again!
The entire menu is so enticing, but our server, Angel, was so knowledgeable and gave us the best recommendations (dont sleep on the steak and potatoes)! Everyone in here really cares about your experience and is so attentive, its a lovely place to spend an evening.
Wow! What a find!!The scallop crudo has great flavor. The steak and potatoes - the chimichurri is light and fresh! Also tried the tuna tartare - it was a little different, but in a good way. It was light and citrusy. The birria Mandu is an amazing fusion of Mexican and Korean!!! Great dumplings!!!
Great place for dinner with friends, save it now!! The staff were so friendly. The only thing was, once we had ordered one round of tapas it was a little hard to get their attention to order more, but we could have tried harder lol
The food felt a little oily and heavy to me. Left feeling heavy and I think you have to order too many dishes to have a full meal.
Gurumé is a hidden treasure in Hells Kitchen, a cozy Korean tapas bar that stands out from the crowd of mediocre eateries on 46th Street. The place has a cute and warm atmosphere, with light decors that create a relaxing mood. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they make you feel welcome even though they have been open for only 8 weeks and are still new and learning the ropes. They have some occasional hiccups, but they compensate with their charming personalitiesThe food was beyond my expectations. Although its tapas, the plates are generous, especially considering the price. The dishes are inspired by Korean cuisine, but they have a modern and creative twist. The presentation is stunning, and the flavors are irresistible. Most of the dishes are simple at first view, but don’t be fooled because they pack a punch with seasoning and flavor. They start you with some potato chips that are so good you can’t stop eating them. They turn ordinary items like Brussels sprouts into extraordinary delights. The Berkshire Kimchi Fried Rice was one of my favorites for the night, it’s packed with flavor and the egg on top is just the “sauce” it needed. The Tempura Mushroom Tacos are crispy and savory, and you won’t miss the meat at all. The Steak and potatoes are a steal for the quality and quantity. This spot is a must-try! I’m already looking forward to going back and sampling more of their dishes. Gurumé, you have won me over!
Staff and vibe and food quality are unbelievable. Incredible price for the food and experience. Adam was our server and knocked it out of the ort
Tried everything on the menu! Lots of very unique dishes that all taste incredible. Definitely order what your server recommends. Excited to come back!

If you plan on visiting, remember that it is a tapas restaurant! We thought the food was not super special and definitely very pricy for the portion you get. The best item we tried was the steak and potatoes which I thought was worth it. Overall the service was great but we thought the food was a little underwhelming.
Great spot that we found randomly. They were very accommodating with us not having a reservation. The wait staff was incredibly attentive, the cocktails were delicious and the food was really great. Get the sesame bread pudding...you wont regret it.
Kat was amazing! Came for a birthday dinner. We had the best time!
Food is delicious, the servers are incredibly kind — and fun! Diana is our favorite :) This is the hidden gem we all need in Hell’s Kitchen. We’ll be back!
Just had a fantastic meal at this unique new restaurant… each small dish has a lovely balance of flavors and textures. The steak & potatoes dish had beautifully tender bites of beef, topped with a delicious and bright chimichurri. The mushroom bowl was delightful with a perfectly poached egg atop a bowl of flavorful mushrooms and tender rice, with the perfect amount of crunch, and micro-greens. The ribs were fantastic as well, and we followed it all up with the black sesame bread pudding, which gave a wonderful umami flavor. The staff were attentive and on point. All in all a truly delicious meal in mid-town!!
Thank you, Diana, for an amazing dinner. The food is phenomenal, the drinks are awesome, the service and atmosphere are great! Really enjoyed and highly recommend.
5 star everything!! We ordered the steak & potatoes, birria, corn, asparagus, and the DESSERT of the churros… everything was amazing!! Highly recommend this placeDrinks = 5 starService = amazingFood = incredible!
All around 5 stars & 2 cheers!! Stunning flavors in the food & the drinks + every single intersection with the staff was a pleasure
Food was amazing! Service was amazing! Portions were bit small and the dalgona cocktail could use some work
Really a different pace from a lot of places in New York City. You can get a a good feel from the place instantly and how the atmosphere is set right away. This place definitely separates itself from a lot of other restaurants.
This place was amazing. We ordered the kimchi fried rice, bossam, steak and potatoes, and injeolmi churros. Food and service were both great.Kimchi Fried Rice - This was a little spicy for my admittedly mild taste palate but it was delicious. The crispy quinoa was the perfect balance to the gooey onsen egg and fluffy rice.Bossam - Sooo good. The server gave us tips for getting the perfect bite by adding a little bit of everything to the pork belly. Flavours perfectly balanced between umami and spicy.Steak and Potatoes - Incredible fusion take on steak and frites. Marinated subtly sweet with fermented chimichurri and with a hint of smoky char. Potatos were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.Injeolmi Churros - Their newest dessert and easily the best injeolmi dessert weve ever had in North America. The churros are crisp and coated generously with injeolmi powder so the flavour really shines. It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Honestly the whipped cream is unnecessary, the star of this dish is definitely the churros with the ice cream being a refreshing palate cleanser.
We went for a 5 oclock reservation, and we happened to be a little early, so we chatted with the bartender for a bit, and he was so lovely. We discussed all the drinks and what soju tasted like since we had never had soju. He recommended a few drinks, so the 3 of us all tried different ones, and none of us were disappointed in the recommendations - so, so delicious. When we sat down at our table, they served a palate cleanser hot tea of cinnamon and ginger. It was a nice warm-up starter! We shared 5 tapas, including corn, brussel sprouts, ribs, fried chicken, and fried rice. My favorite was the exquisitely spiced fried rice with kimchi, delicious! Another favorite was the fried chicken wings, little fried pieces of heaven! We shared the churros to finish, but we would like to try the bread pudding next time - the churros needed a bit more flavor (note: the churro flavor was amplified by the accompaniments, but could have used more cinnamon). We also enjoyed the espresso martini with dessert, another fantastic cocktail! One of the owners came over to ask how our meal was, and we had a nice conversation about the food and service. He then brought us some tasty soju pomegranate shots as a thank you!I highly recommend this restaurant to NYC travelers (and locals). We will put this on our list of must-return restaurants.
What a find. Very different.Recommend the Taco, the Kimchi Pork rice and the Scallops
Amazing food and amazing service! Will definitely come back
We popped in without a booking after going to watch the fabulous Hamilton, just along the road.We decided to trust the staff and service us six options to eat between the three of us. We were served Fried Chicken Wings, Steak and Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Charred Roamesco, Truffle Duck and Cheese, and Amberjack Ceviche. They were all super delicious. The range of cocktails were also really interesting. Highly recommended!!
Everything was amazing and delicious. Spicy margaritas 🍹 😋 was on point. My new spot..
This place was great - service was amazing. My bf said the food was excellent but just a note for the Gluten-free/Celiac gang there is nothing on the menu GF except Brussel sprouts (which were great). If you’re not GF definitely a spot to hit in NYC.
One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. From delicious cocktails 🍹 to dessert everything spot on and delicious 🤤. Great vegetarian options. I am not a vegetarian but husband is and I had one meat dish the kimchi rice (delicious) the rest of our meal was all vegetarian and I didn’t mind because of the complexity of flavors. Make sure you save room for the bread pudding!!! I don’t typically like deserts just not a sweets fan it’s sweet and savory and perfectly balanced. Must go! Thanks JI and Diana for amazing service and great conversation.
Really good food and drinks. Loved the atmosphere, Gabriel was an amazing server!
The wings are my absolute fave!!!! Both soy garlic and spicy!
My wife and I had an amazing dining experience; artful Korean-style, culinary deliciousness! Gurumes food was a unique melding of flavors served up in small, tapas sized portions -- all presented with amiable and attentive service. The cocktails were masterfully mixed. Our favorites were the Tuna Tartare & Steak and Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts... no leftovers! MMM good!!!
Delicious food, fun lively environment, and attentive staff. A bright spot in the Theater District. Will be dreaming about those chicken wings for a long time 🥢
Bland food. Not bad but not great.Food looked good but lacked great taste
Estrella adam and diego were fantastic staff
Came here for my birthday dinner with the girls tonight and can say I definitely will be coming back again. Wow! Everything was delicious. We got the Asparagus, Mac and Cheese, Oyster Mushroom Tacos, Birria Mandu, Tuna tartar, Scallops, Escargot, spicy chicken, crispy corn and the steak and potatoes...Not kidding we got a LOT and EVERYTHING that came out was delicious.Lots of vegetarian options, all the meat and seafood was fresh and cooked perfect.Drinks were really good and very cute!Nice ambience.Service was on point, prompt and all the staff that tended to us were so kind.CANT FORGET THE DESSERT#1 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟BREAD PUDDING WAS SO GOOD WE ORDERED A SECOND ONEFood was so good we forgot to take pics we just ate it all 🤣
Small spot with interesting food.Wait staff is really friendly, food is good. Great for a break from the city.
The food was outstanding each dish was a simply delicious!! Wonderful flavors and excellent service, we’ll definitely be back! The mushroom harvest bowl was our favorite but we throughly enjoyed all of the food.
Simply perfect! The cocktails are amazing and the food is awesome!
Excellent service by our server, Adam, and a perfect pre show spot. The ribs are a must order.
Amazing food - the brussels sprouts and chicken wings were fantastic. The service was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back to try more on the menu. Perfect place for dinner before a show. Highly recommend!
Love this place! Prices are reasonable yet the food and service are superb! Executive Chef Manny was kind enough to greet us and offer amazing suggestions for the next visits. 😎👍
Such great food and portions! Each dish had a unique flavour and such a great concept for Korean tapas! A must try! One suggestion....let server know to bring 2 or 3 dishes at a time so that you take your time with each dish. Well worth it!
Really nice vibes. Tasty food. Good choice of vegetarian options too. Loved the steak, fried rice and peppers. Ask them about their soju bottles!
Will travel to midtown for Gurumé
FANTASTIC FOOD, attentive service, and fun cocktails!!
Great food. Could use a little more spacing between the courses. Dessert took a little while. But overall a good time.
Such delicious food and great service and a really welcoming atmosphere!!
This place was incredible - service was fantastic (shout out to Ji), food was on point, and the vibes were overall incredible. Highly recommend!!
Had a great time here with a couple of my buddies. Also a great date spot with your S.O.Had the Seoul mule and Fresh Evening cocktails, which were very refreshing and tasty.Tried almost everything in the menu, and the favorites were the steak and potatoes, oyster mushroom tacos, tuna tartar, spicy chicken and cheese, and mushroom harvest bowl.
This was an absolutely amazing experience, I went here with a couple of friends as one of the first restaurants we went to in NYC, I’m all the way from Sweden so coming here was such a lovely time! The staff is incredibly sweet and also explained every dish deeply so we understood exactly what we put in our mouths. Absolutely wonderful time! Definitely worth coming here.
Excellent vegetarian options! Drinks delivery was slow and disorganized, not sure what was going on.
Absolutely loved my experience there. Great staff great food. Great drinks will come back every time. I’m in the city. Totally loved the experience. Kat was amazing and very attentive. Sebastian was awesome. Great experience.
Great atmosphere and great food. Small and quaint.
Had an awesome time here. Food was so good but the service was better! Kat was so friendly and gave the best recs! Will come back with more friends!
Really delicious dishes. My favorites were the tuna tartar and galbi steak and potatoes. Great service, they play good music. Would definitely come back!
It was a bit loud, but the food (definitely check out the steak and potatoes dish) was really awesome. Best steak that Ive had in quite a while. Service was really good and got us out in time for our Broadway show.
A fantastic addition to HK - this new restaurant is very inviting and I love the tapas style menu. The soju-based cocktails were fantastic and everything I tried off the menu was just delightful.
The ribs were nutty, super soft and clean just like the washrooms
Absolutely phenomenal food! We tried 2/3 of the menu and every dish was delicious! Kat helped us pick our dishes and never led us astray — it was all so good. Will definitely be back!!
This place is such a gem. Authentic korean food flavor with a new approach. The New York restaurants disappointed me so badly until Gurume. Kimchi fried rice, Truffle ricecake with white sauce, and Bossam are the must. Truffle rice cake reminds me of Gnnocchi. Even though you are used to Kimchi fried rice, it is way DIFFERENT from ordinary ones. Bossam was so tender and juicy. I was not going to eat 5 different dishes, but i had to! I wanted to taste everything if my stomach was much bigger! It was so cute that all staff(they are not korean) shouting out 어서오세요(Welcome in korean) whenever someone entered. I saw Shailene Woodley in the corner of the restaurant. I asked the waiter politely to see if she was the actress for Divergent, but the waiter didnt want to bother her. That was so nice of him. I respect that no one wants to be bothered during a nightout. This is a nice dinner to finish the New York trip.
Food is so good. Price is really good for the quality.
Gabe and Kat took great care of us! The food was amazing. A must go after a Broadway show. The bread pudding dessert was so tasty.
Ji made us feel welcome from the start - food was excellent. A rare gem in an area that’s not always culinarily reliable
Reserved this place a month in advance to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Jireh T greeted us, took our initial order and took the menu away saying she would provide it again. She NEVER came back to our table which is funny cause she would pass by us every single time. We had to call on other people to help us to order more Tapas which killed the entire experience. Nobody stopped to ask us anything and we had to initiate everything. First time in my life I leave $0 for tip because I feel humiliated. When we asked for the check to someone else, she took the card away to charge us. Keep in mind we were next to the Server’s station and even then, no attention was payed to us. I hate to generalize but this really felt racist.Food overall was good, but service was so bad that it killed the entire experience.
Always a challenge to find a good spot in the theatre district. Gurume has a delicious Korean tapas menu and some of the best soju cocktails ever devised. Kudos to the bartender for making precious sounding ingredients into wonderful tasting concoctions. We tried most of them, I had the pumpkin espresso martini that was a delight. And the food was carefully prepared with an array of choices. We liked the Scallops crudo, chicken wings, Birria Mandu, Oyster Mushroom tacos and Brussel sprouts. They shout a traditional Korean welcome every time someone walks in which makes the place lively and fun. Reserve your spot; its a small place and they had to turn folks away during pre-theatre hours.
Gabriel was the man. Food was great and service impeccable. Will return for sure
Amazing food and awesome service - definitely try the bossam 😋
Ji is an absolute genius. Her food recommendations were outstanding! Great food and friendly staff!
Such a great surprise on restaurants row! Everything was delicious and the staff were lovely.
If you eat pork, definitely try bossam! Drinks were great (I had Namu and my husband had Jejudo) too. The wait staff were incredibly attentive.
Delicious tapas restaurant, my favorites are- Scallops- Mushroom tacos- Tuna Tartar
The food is fantastic. I am not a fan of fusion, but these guys pulled off the combination between Spanish and Korean in a most stunning manner.
Came for a friends birthday and had SO much fun! The best parts were the scallop and the Kimchi fried rice. Kat was an amazing server. Will be back!
Loved the service and the vibe of the place!! The music is a little loud but the song choices are great. Will definitely be coming back.
Delicious with great vibes. Soju cocktails were on point. Get the mushroom bowl!!
So great! usually i have to struggle to find somewhere before a show but now im excited to come back here. Great food, great service, great drinks!
I had such a nice dinner in this hidden gem. Pretty, cosy atmosphere and friendly welcoming staff.I was recommended steak and potato, which was so delicious. Seasoning was perfect with touch of korean fusion and tenderness of meat that I enjoyed every bite of it.I will definitely come back and make sure my stomach is empty so I can try more of nice food. Great drinks are the plus.
Seriously disappointed by this place. We had the tacos, brussels sprouts (ok ish, but very al dente even for European taste) and seafood noodle soup (vongole shells were sandy, broth had no taste).Service was very friendly, but over the top (it seemed that there was someone at our table every minute) which is then irritating.
Food was delicious! Drinks were refreshing and unique. And our server Kat was so sweet and awesome. I will definitely be coming back!
