The Attic Rooftop & Lounge

This place is very cozy and quite classy actually. The wait times are a bit long; however the staff is very friendly. Some issues, I visited on memorial day and it was very crowded. I ordered some french fries and waited 1.5 offers for these fries. That was not really my issue tho, the waitress took my card, charged my card and never brought it back. After 3 attempts and an hour later, I was finally able to get my card back. I understood that the waitress was in high demand, but I have never experienced having my card out of my possession for that long. Food: big prices, small portions.

If I could give them 0 stars i would. This place is HORRIBLE. I paid $280 (per person) and an additional $100 for a NYE party but this venue was terrible. First of all they over packed people in all of our seating booths and kept telling us to scoot down and down as more and more people came. When we told them they shouldnt have so many people sitting in one section they continued to ignore and and tried to push us down more. People were getting into fights because of the seating arrangements. Next, the VIP service was suppose to offer appetizers but all we got were 2 horrible little things smaller than a slice of apple. Next, the waitress never came around. They make you pay the $100 as a service fee but we only saw her once and she looked like she hated the world. Next, the music was OK could have been better, the bathroom line was LONG. I had to wait 30-45 minutes to use a damn stall and on top of that the damn manager came in with a body guard and some girl in his arm and tried to cut in front of everyone demanding to go next because he was the manager. He was one of the RUDEST people Ive ever had to deal with with NO respect towards customers. This is a disgusting establishment and would highly recommend you to STAY AWAY!

Nice atmosphere but the customer service sucks. Went to this place for brunch on a Sunday, yesterday to be exact. The food was great but the waitress was terrible. I was a part of a party of 7, we all ordered food and the food came out looking wonderful but 2 people never got their order and another never got her side dish. The waitress never came back to check and see how things were going and being that she didnt serve us the food she didnt know we didnt receive our entire order. When we did notify the waitress of what happened it was after going on a hunt for her. We told her to remove the items that never came from our bill and credit us for the missing side dish but some how she ended up charging us extra money.I asked to speak to a manager and the manager had the nerve to tell me that I fail to realize that the establishment is a club not a restaurant. I vowed to never return there again. Service is terrible.The staff was very unprofessional including the manager. I saw a commotion near the restroom where a male bouncer of the establishment slapped a female customer in the face. Horrible horrible place to be.

This place is terrible! STOLEN Items from BAG CHECKED BAG! ZERO compensation from the owner/establishment.If I could give this place 0/5 stars right this moment I would. I had the unfortunate experience of going to this location on Thursday 05/11/2017 for a professional social networking event. The place was pretty packed which all in all is fine and to be expected. However, I felt it was unsafe to walk around with my bag in such a crush as I was attempting to network. I decided to coat/bag check my bag. There is a fee, which I paid and one would suppose that when you are paying for the service, under law, they are required to take a reasonable amount of care of your belongings. I expect my things to be safe and looked after. I enjoyed my time meeting new people, networking with potential employers, etc.At the end of the night, when I went to pick up my bag I realized as I was attempting to tip the worker there that my wallet and everything in it was missing. They insinuated I was wrong and likely took my wallet with me, which is not the case. I told them they can check the cameras. I have since called the bank, canceled my cards.. However, what irks and upsets me the most, enough to warrant this review is that there was important documentation there that is expensive and time consuming to replace. I need that document.I have tried to keep in contact with this Lounge as they review their cameras and figure out what they are going to do to take responsibility of this issue to compensate me but have yet to see anything from an owner who is away and cant seem to authorize a payment.I was asked to take down my yelp review first and told they would work towards compensating me. They even asked me to send an invoice. So I complied. After a few days, they told me I was asking for too much and to come down on price, even though I only invoiced them for the value of the contents. So they want to cheat me out of money owed to me; I mean considering they sell and serve more than enough watered down drinks in a couple hours, they can more than afford to pay me the meager amount my wallet and its contents was worth. So considering its now been over a month and theyve gone completely quiet in the past two weeks, I decided to post my review back up.

The place is more like a balcony lounge. We ordered a bottle package and then the bottles we were able to choose from were limited. Not as advertised. Be careful with website advertising such as a small slash (/) means or as in one or the other. Also, automatic gratuity charge for zero service. No smoking signs posted all throughout the outer area and people smoked as if it were called the chimney lounge. The DJ was terrible. Music had no flow. I would not recommend celebrating any special event here. Manager not very involved.

The website said no cover charge. When I called on the phone she said it should be free or $5 would be the minimum. When we arrived we paid $10 per person..at 11pm...we was late do to Brooklyn bridge work...but it was gorgeous inside and the DJ was wonderful for the hour we was there I would try it again a little earlier but I didnt get off work until 9 Port Washington... I would have preferred for them to be consistent on the price so I could have planned accordingly first time but I would give them another shot...

Horrible experience. Went for a friends birthday and was misinformed by a promoter about the convenience of skipping line. Girls were let in and boyfriends werent despite being of age. Had to then go back outside to try to retrieve the rest of our party to have to wait in line another 30 minutes before being seen despite paying for bottle service. Much better bars in different less touristy areas of more convenience.

Currently at the club on a peak Friday night and the music has no bass. The view is ok if you just like tall buildings but no landmarks in sight. Cover was $20 and about $12 for simple mixed drinks. Lots of places to sit but most are reserved.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I promoted the place to celebrate my birthday there April 8th, 2017. I called and made a guestlist of 20 people so we could get in for free. I asked the woman I spoke with on the phone if EVERYONE would be free, including MEN. She assured me no one would not be charged at all and I made the mistake of trusting such employee without asking her name. Once I arrived on that Saturday, not only were the men in my group charged $30 to get in, they had to pay another $50 to drink. Its not about the money, we were actually going to get a table until this happened. It was absolutely ridiculous that no one communicants there. Im a frequent night life promoter/ blogger. So not only do I not recommend this place anymore. I will be going out of my way on social media to make sure people DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They literally ruined my birthday.

If I can give them zero I would. I wanted to take my husband on a night out, so I decided to go here. I figured, the view and the good music would be perfect. The event page on Eventbrite said FREE ADMISSION TO ALL BEFORE 1 AM. And then when we arrived, the rude hostess said, $20 for the gentleman. But she didnt say it, she sort of screamed it. I told her the event page said its free for all. Are men not included in all?!?!! She literally barked at me and said $20 FOR THE GENTLEMAN, as though she had been programmed to say the same thing.Fine so we paid and headed up. The music was great, the dancefloor was crowded. I wanted to stand on the terrace but there was no space to move. So my husband got out while I went to get some drinks. Where the hell did they get off charging me $9 for an 8 oz can of beer?! When I head back to the terrace, this scary looking security guard blocked me from going out. I told him my husband is out there and he told me Id have to wait a few minutes. So I stood there for 20 minutes with cold beer freezing my hands. Waste of money and time. We ended up leaving after the beer and Ill never go back there again.Only plus side was the bartenders were nice. But thats probably cuz they get paid well from the overpriced drinks. At least I damn hope they do.

We went there to meet some friends. We stopped at the podium downstairs and told them we meeting some friends upstairs and that they have reservations. They said we have to pay $5 each if the reservations is not under our names. We paid $10 and went up. We did not see our friends upstairs, so we went back to the elevator to leave. The greeter on the elevator asked us why we leaving, and we didnt even spend 5 minutes up there. We told him our friends are not there, it seems like we got wrong info. When we went back to the podium and politely asked for our money back since we just went up, one of the girls said she doesnt remember us!!!!! The other said she did, but the other girl is in charge. What the hell!!! We just went up few minutes ago. I couldnt believe this. They never gave us our money back. The hard back one said once you go up in the elevator, your money is gone. She had an unhappy attitude too. We were there last week and had so much fun with our group of family and friends. WE NEVER RETURNING!!!!!

If you like rooftop bars midtown west then you should give this place a go. I have been here a few times and can say it is good for a drink or event but after happy hour it can be pricey for a drink. Good in summer bad of course in winter. There is a cinqo de mayo event coming up that should be sweet.

Crappy service. The bouncers there are SO RUDE. We were there for a bachelorette party and we were from out of town so clearly we dont know our way around the city. Our friends in the party were already at the club and they said we could skip the line since we reserved a table in the Penthouse. We told the bouncer and he was such a smart** to us and so condescending. He kept saying we were at the wrong place and theres no party with that name. So we got a taxi thinking we were really at the wrong place only to end back at the same place. Our friend had to come get us from upstairs. SO rude. The bouncer was a black male, darker skin, very tall, had a sweater vest and hat on. Will be contacting this place directly. Spent too much money here on our table to be treated this way.

Real nice place and real nice people. DRINKS are a little pricey. Other than that it was a great time! I feel they should have a clean up crew for spilled drinks on the dance.

Cost over 60 to just get it. Have to coat check or you cant get in. But thats after you pay toGet in to begin with. Then the bar har an out ragout minamum and when you leave they force you to tip 15-25% even if you left tips before hand when you got your drinks. All in all the atmosphere was mediocre and it was outrageously over price. Probably at least 100 bars near by that are better.Dont waist you time

It was the worse experience ever. First, my group was in Hunkomania and this guy came to us saying that we will have a “free bottle “ and we have to come to this place “ the Attic” when we get there he was “talking” to this lady and he decided to give the bottle to another group. Then he said that we have to share the bottle with 24 other people. Don’t get customers with lies and this is the first and last time I step on this place. People be careful! Don’t fall for a lie.

Nice place, but they make you pay for coat check. I am fine with tipping the coat check, but if you charge people for coat check then your just asking people to bring their coats and bags into the environment and ruin the ambiance.

Magical location to bring on the new year. This was our location to bring on 2018. They really put on an incredible party, bars were staffed well and extremely friendly. Managed to have a chat with an owner, and he was genuinely happy to have a chat

Love this rooftop and lounge. Incredible views of the city skyline. Amazing Drinks - love the Pimms Cup and signature Attic Martini with its logo right on the top of the drink! Delicious flatbreads and mini burgers just to name a few of their delectable dishes. Awesome DJs spinning tunes all night! A must if you are in the area! If you want a prime seat make a reservation today!

Bouncers were racist in my opinion. I RSVPd through eventbrite, spoke to a lady on the phone who worked at the club to confirm final details (anyone who rsvpd gets in free). I arrive at the club with a bunch of my friends for my birthday. We were all denied access. Bouncers pick and chose who they wanted to let in. Apparently there was a trend on who they accepted and denied.

Came here on a weekend for a bday. Had a good time. Decent drinks, but for that Manhattan price. Music was good. Mixed with top 400 and hip hop.

After-party for a conference here. Not the best rooftop view, music a bit all over the place (notably Tom Petty had died the previous day and the playlist seemed to reflect that), cocktails full of sugar. Also the coat check was unguarded when I collected my bag.

Good DJ! Good vibe! But it was hot as hell I there! They need to figure out how to keep the temperature comfortable when its packed in there! I had to sit outside with the smokers to keep cool and I HATE smoke!

Attic is the worst place to throw a company party who spends $$$$$thousands of dollars and when you attempt to talk to the manager about the horrible service ir that there 1 bartender needs help with 300 hundred people cause everyone must wait 15 to 30 minutes for a drink. When i try to explain this, this what happens 3 bouncers come out and tell you when he or she is done then you can talk. What business owner allows a person to resolves issues like this. Pricy drinks. Though the bar tender was generous. Rent must be high. Its a nice venue but it gets hot bad ventilation system. Been there 2x dont think I go back again.

Only one exit from the rooftop lounge and its one elevator. Staff claims there is no staircase which is a fire hazard. You have to make a long line and wait to ride the elevator downstairs. By line i mean a line the size of a city block it seems.

I loved this location. I had a great time. The bottle prices were good as well. For NYC Ill take that anytime.

Very poor service!! Gave my husband a surprise party here last night and everything I was guaranteed did not happen. Asked to speak to the manager and he came over after an hr there was no air in the penthouse and my guests had to wait outside for 2 hrs before they were let in and I had a reservation for 9:30pm!!! Poor communication and business etiquette I will never do an event here and I would not advise ANYONE to have a party here!!!

$20 entrance, mediocre music selection and after 10 you HAVE to check your coat for $4, but they dont want you going back for it a bunch... Maybe dont force people to check their coat.

The racism is outta control here..the bartender ignored me and went right for the Caucasian people at the bar several times, even ignored my friends who are of carribean ancestry as well and then we were asked to move because the seats were reserved but nobody ever came they just didnt want is next to them. The space is very well designed. You can move about, people watch, dance or chill and never feel like youre in the way. The bamboo and vine decor is very cool and refreshing. Also the rooftop is an enjoyable addition, and its even heated.The DJ was a little overzealous when we went on New Years Day, mostly zipping from one song to the next with maybe 10 seconds per song, tops. Its like he wanted to play all the songs.The bartenders were fast and on point. So no complaints there, and their cocktail menu is respectable, although its $16 a drink...(read: drink wine)In short, had a good time there and would absolutely go back. Cheers!

I went here to celebrate my friends birthday. We had reservations for 16. When we got there, we were told that there was no host to receive us. But fortunately, we asked one of the waitresses Felege and she ended up being so attentive and helpful.The food was really good. Between all of us, we had the crab cake sliders, truffle mac n cheese, fries, wings... and everything was amazing! Drinks were also really good, I had the Attic Mule. In general we hung out in the penthouse and had a great time!

The drawback is that the rooftop is not enclosed :( However, there is an indoor enclosed section and a back room.Scene: Very cozy and sleek rooftop bar. The lounge is a large open space that is conducive to mixing and mingling. Good for get-togethers and date night.Crowd: 20s-40s mostly local talent and European tourists/transplants.Service: Table service is very courteous. Door staff unnecessarily pretentious and obnoxious. One of the staff instead of letting people into the club started partying at our table. Turning people away and the place was nowhere near at capacity.

The space is small enough to make anyone feel claustrophobic. The security is rude and scary. There is only one elevator to go into and out of the party And no one seems to abide by the 6 riders + attendant rule. The entire place seems like a fire hazard. I literally walked in and walked back out immediately. There was no standing room much less dancing room. It also seems that the bartenders dont ever cut you off because almost everyone was drunk to the point where they needed an escort to walk. The top floor with the balcony looked nice but I believe this even (hosted by noweakparties) just sold too many tickets. If youre looking to go, make sure its a small intimate event. Otherwise, youll barely have space to think in there which will make you quickly notice that the fastest way out in case of an emergency would be over the balcony since the stairs dont go up to the penthouse.

I am never coming to this place and I urge everyone to not come. First is first, you must have a guy:girl equal ratio. If you dont, your gonna have to wait extra on line. Another thing me and my friends had to wait on line for 2 hours ! Then there is a coverage to get in which is $30. TRUST ME THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH $30 for a cover charge! There are other rooftops out there probably for free and less. Then worst of all there is a line for the elevator and one of the bouncers started letting people behind the line take the elevator and skipping me and my friend after we just waited 5-10 mins for the elevator. Then as the night went on, they started telling people outside to come back inside for whatever reason I dont know. Then later on you can only go outside for a smoke. This place is ridiculous. If you made it this far to this post, I urge anyone to AVOID this place at any COST! Also I completely forgot, this music is COMPLETE trash

Love the decor and the atmosphere. The view of the city on the terrace is really nice. The crowd is mixed and always well behaved. I go for Vice on Thursday after work event, the DJ was on Point.

Terrible customer service. Attended this place for a friends birthday party. We discussed bottle service options at the door and when we went up to the club, they said its not possible and we will charge you additional $150 to honor that. Despite talking to the club manager, he straight denied accommodating the bottle service package. The place had a bad DJ who played restaurant music. The crowd had died by 1:30. Never going here again.

Always gotta appreciate the viewnand vibes at a roof top - especially when the weather is nice on a weekend night. I went to celebrate a friends birthday and had a pretty good time. The dj played a good selection of a variety of music that night. I didnt grab a drink so I cant tell you much about the bar. But the rooftop and the indoor area to lounge and dance are definitely lovely spaces.

Stingy with even the cheap alochol, and the cocktails were just awful.

Waste of money! Has table booked and maitred couldnt even say where the table was at. Overpriced drinks. Forever line to get on elevator. Unfriendly staff with no personality. Def would have had more fun and enjoyment at pub across the street! Not to mention saving a lot of money

I dont think coloreds are welcomed at this establishment. We had to use the rear entrance to get in and then we were told to we had to drink away from the crowd of people. After one drink the security told us it was a private party coming and we had to leave. We were the only ones asked to leave.

I had a very unpleasant experience at the Attic last night 9/24/15 and will NEVER return. When I arrived, I was told I would not be permitted in because of my clothing. I had on jeans and a hat which I removed. I was told prior that there wasnt a dress code. I certainly would have dressed up if that was the case. I was visiting the venue to say goodbye to a close friend that was moving and it took 20 minutes of complaining before they let me in. Whats worse is that there we several other patrons at the venue that had on jeans. Not sure if it was because Im African American and 90% of the attendees were white but I was extremely disappointed in the service. Not to mention the waitress wasnt attentive and overcharged me. It wasnt until I brought the issue to her managers attention that the issue was resolved. Needless to say, Ill never visit this establishment again.

Great midtown rooftop to have/plan a party/special event for 25+ friends. 1st class.

The dj was horrible and ignored request. The waiter Daniela seemed nice until she tried to make us get out of our seats saying she had to sit people that were ordering disrespectful since we were in fact buying drinks. The fact that there is one elevator and only could fit about 5people made it hard to leave the place.

Has the potential! Pricey Cover Charge for men and DJ is good but they had this other guy playing bad saxophone the whole time over the music. If that sounds insane to you believe me it was. View is not good either.

Here now for the free sangria was from 5-6 was a bit of a wait but still received the drinks. The space is clean the music is good & the appeztezir the sweet chili wings was every good!

I seldom write reviews for anything on the internet, however this was definitely worth the bashing. Absolutely one of the worst places to ever go out in NYC. The bouncers are completely incompetent, the management is poor and subpar, and their overall experience suffers because the people they hire are trash. Avoid this place at all costs, they charged my credit card a large sum of money without my authorization, refused to give me and my friend back our coats from coatcheck at the end of the night and the bouncers threw away our coat check tickets and also escorted us from the venue because we rightfully wanted our belongings back. They need to reconsider their staff and management decisions. Garbage.

RACIST PLACE ALERT!! This was by far the most disrespectful place i have ever been to. Lastnight(Sept.30) i arrived with my friends i was told before hand ladies 21+ would be free . I was going out for my 21st birthday and i didnt know i had to be lightskin or anything close to white to get in for free. My bestfriend that is lighter skin than me walked up to the entrance first and the manager told myself and my other 4 friends that only she is getting in free after he looked all of us up and down. I was apalled by his comment but my friends and i came all the way from Queens to get there i had to suck up my pride and still pay the $20. The manager said i was giving him a hard time and the bouncers did not care that i was turning 21 in 10min..I even offered to wait till midnight(when I turned 21) bc i had reservations for midnight and my 4 other friends that were 21+ still had to pay.

So my friend found this promotion for open bar from 9:30pm to 10:30pm at this place. We decided the check it since we had never heard about it. When we went to the bar to claim the promotion, they told us that the date was incorrect at the moment the printed it, and still they did not wanted to provide any discount because of their mistake. We ended up concluding they provide this false promotions in a way to obtain customers. I would add that the drinks were pricey for the place and they were not good at all.

Very expensive (30$ admission) for just a bar with one dance floor, but maybe it is normal in Manhattan. Cocktails are very basic.

Mediocre place aimed at tourists. Watered down drinks, fairly crowded, but not the best there is in the area. Go to the 7 th floor at the w bar.

The bar is attractive but the elevator ride was a bit daunting since it got stuck for a few minutes.

When on a date here. Got 4 drinks and spent $100. Views are overrated. Its a classic city rooftop thing where there are wierdly cramped zones for small parties/groups. So weird

Went twice both times for someone birthday and came with a large crowd they told us one price on phone and more once we were there and they pointed out the sign they says they have a right to change amount @ the door will never go again

This place is trash paid to get in 20 bucks when on event brite said free plus tried to go back up security didnt let me again in.

Rip off. NYC aint cheap but this place just tries to take advantage. Door guy tries to hussle people for cover/drinks.

If you like loud music where you cant have a conversation this is the place to be. they also dont have tap water - only sell bottled water.

Not worth it. At the door is too expensive,music isnt very good and too much good people. One hour into it and there was a fight.

Its an okay place the only reason I stopped by was because one of my friends is a bartender there and I just passed by to say hi to her.
