We popped in because I read something recently about a martini that takes this bar two weeks to prepare.... unfortunately the bartender was not aware of this fact. perhaps the story in timeout was old?this is a small bar inside of a hotel lobby basically, The seats could not be more uncomfortable. The bartender was super sweet and we enjoyed dirty martinis that were frozen but it was basically just a martini made with a very cold mix that was pre-made and put in the refrigerator.deviled egg was deliciousthe scallop dish as well.the ambiance is just way off and not comfortable.
Another hidden downtown treasure is the Lobby Bar at the Brown Hotel. Everything is great and the Hot Brown is a much try! All the food on the menu taste great and the food is the very consistent. The Lobby Bar offer a casual dining experience on the second floor of the Brown Hotel. If you want a more fine dining menu with the comfort of the Lobby Bar space, ask to see if they English Grill menu is available (which it usually is).
Was sad to hear the manager has turned this lovely and relaxing lobby area into a brunch only spot on weekend afternoons. My husband, friends, and I have been coming here for years to sip tea or cocktails by the fireplace (most recently, a few weeks ago). There is a fantastic restaurant in the next room for a more comfortable brunch experience, so this came as a surprise. There were mostly empty tables, but we had to leave, as we were not looking for a meal. Fingers crossed they change the policy, as there are many of us in the neighborhood who want to remain regulars.
Very cozy lounge/bar area inside the ludlow hotel. Came here after dinner to get dessert and a drink. The lemon tart paired very well with the espresso martini. Our server, ?Colleen, was very hospitable!
Review based on service (or lack thereof). Would be 5 stars if my friend and I had received any service at all from the waitress that spoke to literally every other table there. We were there for maybe an hour and some change, and on multiple occasions she walked by without acknowledging that we were there. Everyone else got offered water, we did not. They were able to place drink orders, we were not. We even moved tables because our first choice wasn’t in a really visible area. Not once did she glance in our direction. Once our glasses were empty she came by and mumbled something like “are you guys ok” and barely made eye contact. I’m not sure what the issue was, but I expect better service from such a nice place. The space is gorgeous and the drinks are tasty. 5/5
Had one drink at the bar lobby.Atmosphere was nice and chill.Mixologist (not bartender) made really good drinks. Not sure what he made, but wherever folks asked for he was able to make and the customer was pleased.
Calm and chill vibes!Great music, nice waitstaff and great drinks.I would love a couple of more small bites options on the menu. I would definitely return.
The best hotel lobby bar I gave ever visited. Vintage styled leather lounges and an open fire hearth give you a cosy seat to sink into with one of their custom cocktails in your hand.
Great food. Hidden gem of this neighborhood
Great bar staff. Had a fantastic time sampling some quality whiskey recommendations.
The furniture is ridiculous; way too small and very uncomfortable. Drinks are good but expensive. A nice thing is that its quiet.
We stayed at The Ludlow last month and enjoyed the lobby bar but the drinks were on the expensive side. Still would suggest.
Great drinks in a nice, relaxing setting with friendly service
Nice lounge with fireplace and more importantly beautiful, airy, bright Winter garden. Great cocktails and mocktails.
Quite bizarre, been coming here every once in a while. But today got ignored by a waitress for about 15 minutes. Just watched her in no hurry serving 2 tables around me. Didn’t get the menu, or a nod, so I... left.
Excellent spot to work on a laptop during the day, or to enjoy a well-crafted cocktail near the fireplace or in the covered garden in the evening.
Great atmosphere! Not loud! Yummy cocktails. Has indoor & outdoor seating.
The Ludlow Hotels Lobby Bar is chic and comfy. Beautifully and eclectically decorated in the style of Mid Century Modern Brazilian designer Percival Lafer its interior is unique; low slung sofas and chairs in a variety of shapes and configurations create a puzzle-like floor plan and so many options means you can nearly always find a spot. Look up to admire the wood beamed ceiling and chandeliers. If you dont already feel like youre cool everyday, you are definitely cool when youre here. The drinks menu is exhaustive however the food menu is very limited. Absolutely worth stopping in for a drink when in the neighborhood.
I have given this lobby bar so many chances and it continues to fail. I live in the neighborhood and love to stop in here to the cozy lobby bar - I consistently send my parents here to stay when they visit, however, this 3 strikes and you’re out. Don’t bother going here unless you’re a vip hotel guest. I waited around for 10 minutes to get noticed and was then directed to a hotel guest table and then when I ordered told I couldn’t sit there. The waitress was extremely unaccomodating and unfortunately this is 3rd time this has happened to my husband and I when we come here - we get told by one waitress we can sit at the table then get told no. Extremely unprofessional service and team here. Last time we will be here and no longer sending guests here.
Isabella delivered spectacular service! I’ve lived in New York for a over a year now and never had a server be so accommodating and lovely. She was extremely charismatic, attentive, and had the best energy. Ask for Isabella when you visit!
Great ambiance with good cocktails. Friendly staff.
Cozy vibe. Surprisingly not crowded on a Saturday night. A bit pricey even for NYC
Same as the Hotel its connect to (The Ludlow) professional personnel knows how to mind their business
Cool place to sit and have a drink or catch up on work.
Cozy lobby bar with a fireplace. Nice variety of food, cocktails, drinks, coffee and tea.
This garden part of the lobby has got to be one of my favorite places to work. Its so peaceful and serene. I always get so much done there. Its also a lovely place to meet people for drinks or snacks. Their fries are amazing! Good iced coffee and oat milk cappuccino as well.
Hidden gem for a quick meet up, also, delicious food and drinks
Such a great spot to chill during the afternoon
Love, love, love this place! If I lived in NYC, I have a feeling Id be a regular here! Ive had the opportunity to visit this spot twice and actually had quite different experiences. Both times there was a great, mixed crowd (all ages, not pretentious, yet still classy) and delicious cocktails. The atmosphere and decor is just unbeatable, too, and adds so much to the whole experience! The comfy chairs, cozy fireplace and beautiful covered garden terrace are just magic and quintessential NYC! Go here and you wont be disappointed :)
Excellent lounge and atmosphere. Very good drinks and crowd. Ive been there twice and always had a good time. There is also an outdoor patio but I prefer the vibe inside.
I am in love - everything is so cool interior, music, location and of course cocktails 🍸
This is the hotels lobby as well as a well frequented bar. This is a really cozy place with a small covered patio in the back. The atmosphere is relaxed, elegant and cozy around the chimney and youll get bar food + a full menu from the Dirty French, which is just across the hall. Definitely recommended.
If decor makes up for some of the worst and most rude service I’ve experienced in NY in decades, then you should definitely visit this bar.Ordering must be done in a begging fashion:“Hello, could we order some coffee?”Staff: “in a minute.”Drinks also take twenty minutes and menus are brought when you ask at least three times; then they get the message. And to top it off, management and other staff will come argue with you about your apparent dissatisfactions.NEXT
Cocktail I had was creative and well-made. For $17 it ought to be. Trouble was its not until you get the bill that you learn the place is credit card only. Are they joking? Its pretty obnoxious to tell a customer they cant pay with actual US currency. I wont be back.
Cool spot to hang out with a drink and chat with date
Look, the drinks are epic but at $85 for two old fashions maybe we could do better elsewhere
Very nice lobby with antic fire place. Smart and green patio hyper lighty with comfortable sofa
Lovely hotel, warm inviting atmosphere
Beautiful
