The food was very good and the atmosphere was nice. It felt like a Williamsburg bar but in Harlem ;) it really enriches the neighborhood to have a hipper place to hang out and have a drink. I found the price for the tapas a little more on the higher end.
Food was delicious, friendly and inviting staff tucked away in a cozy spot. Visited on a Saturday night with live singer and guitarist. The evening was something to remember, and will definitely visit again if ever given the opportunity to.
Had dinner here last week. Tapas is my favorite way to eat a meal with friends so I was excited to give this place a try. I absolutely loved everything. One delicious plate after another came to our table many times brought by the one of the charming owners, Paul. He described every plate, made recommendations, all the while greeting guests as they entered and checking on every table. Nice touch. I also thought the decor was elegant, unique and full of personality, even the bathroom was a little oasis with classical music and a small library!I live in Chelsea but will gladly take the A train up anytime to eat here again.
Great food, the cheese and meat plate is one of the best we have tried so far. Tapas are great and many choices available. Drinks are not the best but they do have a good and varied beer choices. The ambiance is nice and the service was great! Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely come back.
The food was okay- not exceptional. Our server was pleasant but the overall service was so slow that I cant give them a high rating. Our server was a one man show- he was the bartender, inside waiter and the waiter for the outdoor seating. But I have to disclose that he did comp us on the drinks for the extended wait on our order.
I was surprised how cute this place is. Though small, it had a great ambiance and they made great use of the space! It had great food, a great vibe and awesome live music! I only wish my wife and I found this place sooner. Will be going back soon.
Great place. It’s feels like the Love child of a tapas place in the suburbs of Barcelona and a bistro from south France. The only thing missing is stoned laid streets. Paul and the staff are great hosts. My absolute fav spot in Harlem.
I was honestly really disappointed with Peque. I had popped in for a drink a few months ago and had been dying to return after reading the reviews and seeing the menu. I went back on a date last week and was so underwhelmed! Its a cute, cozy space but out of the six tapas we tried, only one (meatballs) was anywhere close to being decent. Everything else was pretty bland. The second round took almost thirty minutes to come out when there were only two tables in the restaurant and when we asked the bartender about them, he basically rolled his eyes at us! Additionally, half of them were served on cute plates and the other half were served in paper lunch boats which I totally did not get. Overall, Id say go for a drink and maybe their live music but dont bank on having a great meal here.
I recently had a private event held here, the atmosphere and crew members were phenomenal. Every guest that I encountered that evening raved about the food and service. Will definitely recommend family and friends to book future events at Peque.
I hosted a successful Beautycounter Pop-Up at Peque this past Saturday. I wish I took photos. Everything was so perfect. The staff was so helpful and assisted me in set up and breakdown. I was nervous, getting a late start in set up, but the staff calmly guided me through the process (moving my own boxes and bags out of the way) and kept me on task! I was just about set up when my first guests started to arrive. Drinks were served (Sangria and Wine), people were so comfortable in the beautiful space. Its a perfect event space, small enough to encourage socializing but not so small as to feel crowded. I will certainly use this space again for future events.
I want to thank Paul and all the PEQUE staff for making my 60th birthday party a night to remember. The DJ was over the top he felt the crowd out mixing salsa and great dancing music; everybody was dancing ,laughing and relaxed. My guest were saying I love this ,taste that its great !! My favorite desert, cheese cake, and hot bread pudding vanilla ice cream super delicious. I got so many phone calls about last night, they praised the friendliness of the staff but very professional at the same time. I am over the top happy with my 60th birthday party. The atmosphere at Peque is always warm and welcoming but last night it was cooking!! Book your party now DONT WAIT. THANKS SYLVIA ROMAN
Nice atmosphere, good friendly service. The food was nice - had some tapas, artichokes as good as previous reviews, mushrooms lovely but a tad underseasoned, but we had some lovely salty olives so that was fine. Ordered red wine which was good. However the Crema Catalana was very sweet (and I am a sweet tooth) and the texture grainy like semolina, when it really should be smooth and silky. Just a warning. I looked to see the hours Peque was open abd Google advised it was open until midnight. However, at just before 9pm on Sunday night we were told the kitchen was soon to close. It didnt affect us as we were just about to order dessert. So just be aware.
Being a New Yorker I dont get surprised to often. But tonight that drought is over. Peque Vinos was a throw back to the days were guest services were the standard not the exception. We were made to fell welcome the moment we stepped through the door till we put on our coats and the door closed behind us.My best friend who was with me has been my friend for 35 years. But its always a challenge going to a restaurant with him because he is a Vegan. So going to a New place always presents issues. The waiter, bartender and even the owner went through the menu with him to make sure he was maintaining his vegan lifestyle. So with the chief now in the loop he coustomized menu items to make the dishs vegan.I was so impressed. We had and recommend the following. The Ginger Sangria, Mejilones the best and most tender mussels ever, Asperges sauteed asparagus, Alcachofas seasoned artichokes, Roasted Tomatoe Soup and Potato wedged and Bread Pudding. Go there and just try not to love this gem in Harlem.
Truly enjoyed my experiences at Peque! Its a cozy clean eatery with an intimate feel once the sun sets. We had a few things from the menu Charcuterie & Cheese Tasting which icludes Five Cheese Tasting Board with Jamón Serrano and Chorizo Iberico. It was delicious! We also ordered the Tortilla Española omelette of potatoes & onions with roasted garlic aioli and the Skirt Steak Chimichurri fire-grilled steak served with classic chimichurri sauce, potato wedges and mixed greens. We enjoyed every bite. The staff was super friendly. Ive visited twice and I had a great time with every visit.
Another great meal a Peque Vinos and Tapas NYCSo, I had a beer which I do seldom and truly enjoyed the Riverhorse Tripel... Its a nice Belgian style beer 🍺, recommended Erin, the bartender.Check her out!! Girls Meet Brews!I dont drink 🍸 beer 🍺 but she is slowly converting me;)Paul - is one of the business owner provides quality service...Food: Tapas style delicious...I truly believe its a personal experience...Ive asked Erin for the 4 best thing in the menu base on my requirements....No carbs, no desertsAll great good food all around.❤#food#peque#newyork
I tried their brunch and its amazing. The service deserve an A. Also, their drinks are inexpensive an high quality. If you live in Harlem, PEQUE is a must go.
We always have a great time here. The staff is warm and friendly and the food and drinks are delicious. We had the cheese board and it was really great! Highly recommeded!
Great atmosphere, cozy intimate casual sophisticated setting, tasty tapas, great service. Have never enjoyed a dining experience in NYC more than this little jewel!
DISAPPOINTING. Poor waitress didnt stand a chance in this joke pretending to be a restaurant. This is light years from resembling a tapas restaurant/bar. Just dont do it, you do deserve better for your hard earned money. Otherwise youll know how low quality ingredients taste or you wont simply because they just dont have them.
Love the chorizo, the tortilla española, the baked chicken (amazing) and the seafood! The sangrilla is verrrry good as well...staff is very friendly and knowledgable...cant wait to go back!
Peque Presents...Letrice Cherry & Friends!!
I love tapas but the price to portion size ratio was very disappointing. Also, seating was a bit tight but that might be because it was crowded.
Lovely tapas place -- a cozy date spot with wonderful food! An especially awesome cheese selection!
Delicious food, really nice atmo and drinks are always inventive and tasty. Great local Harlem find.
Good place but it needs more Spaniard cuisine. Food is great. Staff are welcoming
Good vibes, cool music, and great drinks! Bring your friends on a Saturday night for live music.
Tapas menu but need add other menu items too.limited but good and tasty. Service is excellant
Good service great food music was awesome Definitely a go to spot
Amazing music playing live, good food, many options of wine, drinks and beer.
Tapas, Wine and Conversation is a wonderful way to wind down for the day, Come, I bet you will say the same thing.
Great service. Friendly atmosphere. Good live music
JUST HAD MY MOTHERS BDAY HERE HAD A GREAT TIME EVERY BODY PROFESSIONAL LOVE THE ATMOSPHERE WAS AN INTIMATE OCCASION
Best tapas I have had in awhile, would highly recommend this place.
Great sangria and tapas!! Cozy, welcoming and comfortable.
Small cozy place , good food and drink, perfect for second date..
Good food. Good service. Good cocktails. It was an extremely crowded night so Im sure service would be more rapid if it werent standing room only. The show was great.
Go for the food, the music, and the decor! The bathroom is a must see. You will not want to leave it. My favorite aspect of this restaurant is their bartender, Christian! He is superb and a gem! Stop in and sit at the bar when hes working. His music choices are fantastic! Paul. the owner may be there and if he is talk to him about their rather impressive wines. I love this place!
Love this place! A real local gem. Excellent margaritas and wine list, good (but not intrusive) service, and great food, with a good balance of vegetarian and carnivore offerings. the bread pudding is definitely a winner (and I dont usually like bread pudding). The musics not bad either.
Just really good drinks at a budget.. and nice vibe
Cozy welcoming place, friendly staff, refined tapas, outstanding wines and a great selection of beers. Plus, they have live music regularly. Very convenient walk from either the 3 or A B C D subway stations. I cant wait to try every item on the menu. Its always a pleasure to return there.
Good variety of tapas and drinks. Friendly vibe.
Really good service, Robin is lovely. The food is okay, with the exception that we were served spoiled mushrooms. I sent them back and they brought us fresh ones immediately but really, they should never have left the kitchen. Great interior decoration and vibe.
This little restaurant close home is my best option when I dont feel going too far. Its cozy and the sea food is exellent. They serve a variety of wines to accompany your favorite dish. I will recommend it to any one.
Convenient, neighborhood yummy place... And live music many evenings! Most of the servers are great; one was surly, but perhaps she was having an off day. Service is not particularly slow nor quick. Sangria, especially at happy hour, is nice.
I am very disappointed in this restaurant. Recently I moved to the area and was excited about trying local spots I gave Peque Vinos few chances, but each time it was worse than other. The portions were small but food was dissent, but I assuming the Vinos I expected big wine selection, I choose to try sangria rose and my boyfriend ordered Cabernet on what the waitress said they have a policy of 2 glasses per order, because they will open a new bottle for us. Okay, I said fine. Let me and my boyfriend have Cabernet, which was poured from half empty bottle, the wine was already open for a few days before. So basically they lied to us and werent even able to answer us.Another time we walked in, we were tipsy and they were trying to sell us a bottle although we went there for a glass of wine which we expressed. Because we were tipsy they were trying to take advantage of the situation.Stay away from this place. Simply a rip-off management.
Went last night to grab a drink with some girlfriends. Loved the atmosphere and the people! They were so very nice! I plan on bringing all my friends in the area there for late night tapas and drinks. It is so nice to have something like this so close instead of having to go downtown to grab a drink with friends.
Enjoyed the live music. And the drink was great
The service and the food is just quality, no other word to describe it.
Amazing small restaurant/bar with a huge personality and great live music. Also, the wings and the mushrooms were both delicious! Will definitely be back again.
Food was delicious, Service was Great.....My only issue was we clearly asked for well-done and were served still bloody rare steak. We sent it back, they just cooked the original a little more, but only to medium. If you love your steak cooked rare - you will enjoyIf you only like steak med-well or well done - BEWARE!
Peque is the best! Great environment, great people, great drinks! While their food portions are a tad small, it is filled with homemade deliciousness.I go here at least once a week and I love it more and more each time.
It was such a fortuitous find discovering this quaint little restaurant while wandering the streets of Harlem. My friend and I enjoyed Sunday brunch here during one of our leisure trips to NY and the wait staff and owner where amazing. The food was so delicious that we ordered two helpings of our dishes while we enjoyed chatting the afternoon away in such an eclectic and interesting restaurant with the coolest atmosphere. The potato quiche (cant remember exactly what it was called) was my absolute favorite! The owner told us of some really cool activities there that were coming in the days following but sadly we had to return home long before they began. Hope to be back in NY when they have one of their events taking place. Without a doubt I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Peque is a gem in this neighborhood. I love going any time of day. The food is great. The wine and drink selections are wonderful. It’s a nice, cozy spot with live music in the evening.
Great happy hour deals (yummy tapas priced at 3 for $12 and sangrias for $5 between 5-7 pm!). There was live music that was AMAZING! I wish I could give this 5 stars, but our waiter forgot us at multiple points during the visit and we had to repeat requests multiple times before they got addressed (no silverware, no ice, no soap in the bathroom).
Has great food, such as potato wedges and desserts( the pudding was my favorite!) Its very decorative, which gives it an appropriate atmosphere for the bar. 10/10 would go again.
I love the salmon croquettes 😋 so yummy!!
Great food and great live music.
Great local tapas spot and neighborhood bar. Very comfortable and cozy atmosphere. P.S. Funny, but it has the nicest restaurant bathroom in Harlem.
Amazing food, great vibes and good people! It is intimate and cozy. The live music also rocks!! 😊😊👏
Get a sangria and tapas come with it. Its a small place with great people. The bar tender Chris is amazing!
Tastee bites and nice small cozy atmosphere. Great for a date or even a nice time with friends. The background music selection is also great.
Wanty the bartender is fabulous! The live jazz is always great! Staff is friendly and the food is good!
Great yo check it out yourself. You wont regret.
We have been a few times and have enjoyed what we have ordered there. Get the fried artichokes! They are delicious, though I will say that the portion is not large. The cheese and charcuterie plate is very good. The mixed drinks are tasty. And the staff are very nice. Very LGBTQ friendly, as another reviewer posted. Really glad this place is in the neighborhood.
This place is amazing. Its really a gem in harlem. The staff and owner are so friendly and really try to offer you things to your specific taste. The food here is excellent and the selection of local beers/ciders is exquiste. Definitely a place to add to your local hangouts!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. To add to that, 2 wonderful bonuses - beautifully made Sangria and excellent live music (on music nights)
Peque is a great restaurant with a good selection of tapas, esp at happy hour (2 for $10). Their outdoor seating was also a great experience.
Tasty food. Great selection of tapas. Comfy space and friendly staff. Love it
Cute spot but the food and serving size was a bit of a let down.. So so quality tapas sorry to say
Great neighborhood spot with good food and drinks. Sometimes they have live music, and the owner is very nice.
The food is fabulous! We love our wait staff Bri . She was smart and with it. We had a wonderful leisure dinner al fresco. The owner Paul is charming. We came back because the tapas were so delicious all the way from the midwest. Highly recommend this wonderful little gem in Harlem.
(Jorge) love me some Peque. Tasty food and the ambience is great, lighting, music and service is 5 star rating.
Awesome, gay friendly, great food, great vibes. The owner is there making sure that youre comfortable and experiencing a great time in his home.
An artists heaven! Great food (THE BREAD PUDDING is OMG YAS),drinks and music. Bands perform every Tuesday night! Ive interacted with great artists there. Absolutely delightful. No need to go downtown to have a nice time when PEQUE is right around the corner! I moved to Harem last month and wanted to find a bar to just hang out and chill and voila! I stumbled upon this treasure! The staff is amazing. Paul, the owner, treats his customers with such care and love. The ambience is classic/vintage and romantic. Even their bathroom is beautiful!!Drinks (read: guavatini) is delicious. Must try their sangria. You can take someone out on a date here, or go wit friends to enjoy good music or just hang out at the bar and the bar tender may play some musicals number for you :)Must go there and do order their bread pudding (youll thank me)!
Great little place. Very personable service.
Go during happy hour 5-8pm. Great drinks (sangria, vino verde), nice food (simple tasty mushrooms, small wedge of tortilla with flavorful chorizo, bland calamari but the octopus wasnt available, not bad garlic shrimps, great bread pudding).
Excellent service, friendly staff, and perfect ambiance. I enjoyed a bottle of Malbec with my girlfriend and the Albondigas were delicious! I will definitely return.
I was very disappointed when I went today, because there was so much hype about this place on instagram and how beautiful it is. Not to mention they had all these beautiful pictures of the food posted, well seeing is believing. My best friend and i went today and they sat us down and we noticed the utensils weren’t clean at all, they all looked dirty so we had them changed it. Second when we decided to order drinks we were told they couldn’t make it because they didn’t have the stuff to make it. Third, my friend wanted cheesecake and she was told they didn’t have it. This place looks better on instagram but in person it’s not at all. I had no idea til I went in today and saw it for myself. If your use to eating good food like me than you know exactly what I’m talking about because when you go there, you will realize that the food is ok and it’s not all that.
This hidden jewel on 145th street. LGBT FRIENDLY! GOOD TAPAS THE ARTICHOKES ARE YUMMY!
Excellent restaurant! We had shrimp, chorizo, beef sliders, and salmon croquets - the croquets and sliders were particularly tasty. And the service was great - the waiter was VERY accommodating and helpful.
Delicious tapas with awesome staff. Always a great evening.
What a warm and friendly place. So glad I finally made it over there.
Excellent happy hour, great for a quick post work bite.staff is very friendly
Great food, bar tender great and music is the best!
Excellent, cute restaurant. expensive and delicious. would go for more when it has been open for a bit and prices drop
Great service, awesome atmosphere, charcuterie and cheese plate was one of my favorites, but loved it all.
This place is awesome. The space is small but they have a great outside space. The menu is BALLER! Wanted to try everything but am going to wait until I come next time. Happy hour Tapas special: Pan con tomates, Deviled Eggs and savory mushrooms.... BANGING! shared with friends: the Albóndigas were to die for but the skirt steak option was a bit on the bland side but the experience was awesome so I didnt care!Oh and BT Dubs-- the sangria is a must but Pio Pios is a bit better because its heavier on the wine.Keep it up Peque-- cant believe you were right around the corner!
The name Pequeof this Harlem gem does not do it justice! It should have a grander name to go with its personality and interesting and tasty dishes. Not to mention their excellent taste in music. They play tasteful eclectic choices of music from Miles Davis to Stevie Wonder to Depeche Mode. Now the food......I had dinner with my boyfriend, who was visiting from Italy and a a couple friend from Long Island and I bring up Peque when discussing restaurants in a conversation. The food, although tapas portion (which is why is Peque) is delicious. The flavors are bold and tasty with very creative and original combinations. Every dish we had, that is, the Tre Diablos, Tortilla Espanola, Mejillones, Gambas and Grits, to name a few, and lets not forget their cheesecakes are all to die for. I love this place! I live in Rockland County and frequent the city once every two months but I think now, I will make extra trips just to visit this wonderful Peque of a gem. Amazing food, great music, seated near interesting diners from the artistic to the suits.... you will find them there. I look forward to dining at Peque sooner than soon. It is one of my favorite restaurants by far!
Nice place to have small dishes and drinks.
Their service was ok, the food was ok for what they charge. I think the best thing here is the drinks.
John Taffer from Bar Resuce wouldve went ballistic. The drinks was watered down amd fruit flies were in the drinks as well. 👎👎👎👎👎. Highly disappointed.
The ambiance is beautiful and intimate, and the food is some of the best that Harlem has to offer. The mussels and the steak are must-haves!
Cute date spot and tasty drinks and food.
Great food and atmosphere
My favorite neighborhood spot. Real NY is in there.
One of my favorite places to go!
Delish food, great vibe, excellent drinks!
One of our fav spots. A must go!
Great service, great food.
Excellent food in a cute spot!
Delicious! !! Great for a Friday - unwinding
Best Food....Best Music...Best Host
Excellent food and quality service
A great place to be.
Great food, great vibes
Delicious! Love this place!
Its ok 👌🏾
Great place to eat with friends
Awesome tapas
Nice
Great vibe.
Gòod live music
Great eats
Very kind. Delicious. But the prices are exorbitant for the portion size. Its a shame.
The portions are extremely small and expensive. The churrasco was thin as a sheet of paper and no bigger than the palm of a hand. We spent 100usd and left hungrier than when we arrived. I wouldnt go back.
Good service and price
