Goldies Tavern

In town from out of state, looking for a place to have a few drinks, some food and watch the football games. The vibe and atmosphere are pretty nice. There’s a good amount of tv’s with a good selection of games playing. That’s about the best of it. The service is mediocre. The food, or at least what we sampled of it, is sub-par. We ordered the Bavarian pretzels as an appetizer and it took close to 45 minutes to come out. It was supposed to come with beer cheese and honey mustard. After the close to 45 minute wait, we were served three pretzel rods with the beer cheese. No honey mustard. We asked about the honey mustard and were informed they stopped carrying it a few months ago. Maybe update the menu? Or at least let us know the menu offering has changed. The pretzels themselves weren’t bad but the beer cheese was lukewarm and gritty. Possibly separated. We got our check and moved on. Perhaps the rest of the food is better but our experience was severely lacking. We won’t be coming back or recommending this establishment.

I was having an event, at a location that was across the street from Goldie’s. Due to a communication error, we needed to change venues- literally 30 minutes before the start time. In stepped Goldie’s. The staff could not have been nicer, more accommodating, or more helpful.What could have been a disaster was a wonderful evening. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the celebratory lemon drops were much appreciated.I’m grateful to Goldie’s for the hospitality and highly recommend.

Dope spot , great bar and bartenders.Didn’t expect the food to be this good, definitely order the chopped Cheese Empanadas and Steak Frites. Also the espresso martini was amazing !

Conveniently located next to the Courtyard by Marriot near Penn Station! Apparently newly opened since last time I stayed. Very welcoming and comfortable with seating inside and out. Great food—the ribs were delish! And the bartender Sarah was awesome and super helpful with suggestions! As a solo traveler, sometimes dining out alone in NYC can be intimidating… but not here!!!

After a long day touring New York city, we decided to grab a bite at the Goldies since it was attached to our hotel, and had a happy hour. Overall service was great, wasnt crowded, and it fit our family of 8. The pretzels and cheese were awesome, grilled cheese and tomato soup was good. Myself and 2 others got the Fish Fry, the catfish was perfectly cooked, but the shrimp were way too overcooked, not a bit of moisture left in them. The rest of the party got burgers, well done (which Ill never understand why people do that) but they were happy with them. The spicy Margarita was different and refreshing something to check out of you like Margaritas. Go check them out if youre in the area, right across the street from NYPD.

We were staying at the Courtyard Marriot next door over the past week and we stopped in at Goldies and returned a second night because everything was that damn good! The cocktail drinks are strong & tasty. The Chicken Caesar is fantastic. Garlicky and homemade dressing is definitely a game changer. The Chopped Cheese Empanadas were also homemade. Fantastic flavor paired with the tomato aioli for dipping. Dont skip out on Goldies when in NYC. A gem right up the road from MSG & Penn Station.

Went for trivia, the atmosphere was nice! The service wasn’t great, I’m unsure if it was because of trivia occurring or being understaffed. We had to go out of way to track down a waiter for drinks, utensils, and to get the bill. The food was okay, not great. I got a bottled beer but my friends that got beer on draft said the drafts were flat.

Great new bar. Baretenders and amazing and make some great drinks. Food was impressive. Kale salad slaps harder than my momma when i was a kid.

Update from 1/14/24: Had another great event at Goldie’s, this time with a larger party of 60 people. Amazing hospitality, drinks, music, and great food!From 3/2023:Love Goldie’s! The space is great for large parties and you can’t beat the central location! The staff made us feel so welcome and were very attentive to our party of 14. We loved the spicy margaritas, tater tots, and donuts! I will book future events here for sure.

We held a reception for our son at Goldies. Tiffany and Bobby were so easy to work with via email to make the arrangements. The venue and staff were perfect! The food was great! Highly recommend a visit if youre in the area or if you need a venue to host a gathering.

Enjoyed some beverages here during a short trip from Boston. Great selection of beers, wine and liquor. Love the atmosphere... not at all like a hotel bar/restaurant. Especially enjoyed our servers. Thanks for making our visit extra fun Celeste!

Great classic sports bar! My daughter and I stopped in for some quick to go food, and the service was fantastic. We were in a hurry, and the gentlemen working there were so accommodating. My daughter enjoyed her pretzels and tater tots. Wish we had more time to spend because Ive read other reviews raving about their drinks. Would love to go back!

Goldies Tavern brings a touch of class and trendy vibes to midtown. They serve up elevated bar food that could compete with any restaurant around, while serving great drinks in a cool atmosphere. Would highly recommend them if youre looking for a company happy hour, or wanna grab a bite and drink before a game or show in the area.

If youre staying in the hotel, you have to order through an app. The app gives you an option for in room order. This would be better labeled take out as the restaurant just drops your order in the lobby. Dont waste your money tipping as though its coming to you. Youre going to have to do the leg work yourself.

I loved every bit of my experience at Goldies tavern. When I walked in and throughout the whole experience they truly made me feel like family. On top of this the food was amazing and the waitress picked out the perfect beer for my meal since I was unsure of what to have. They earned a customer for life. 10/10 recommend!!!

I had a great night at Goldies last night with my coworkers. The small bites were delicious and my friends loved the cocktails. I will definitely come back to watch football. They have great booths and TVs, which make for a great viewing experience!

Great new bar! Stopped by after work, very close to my office in Herald Square. They have really cool craft beers and a delicious menu! Try the empanadas! The staff is super fun and welcoming - they definitely add to the atmosphere of the bar. Will be back for sure!

Staying and the Chelsea Marriott next door. This place was such a great find! They just opened 2 weeks ago so they did not initially pop up on my search but we decided to take a chance. So glad we did. We did appetizers and drinks and everything was absolutely delicious and surprisingly reasonably priced for NY. Will definitely be back.

We had a nice time watching a WNBA game and playing trivia. Good burger. Good drinks. Maybe not charge full price on soda refills.

I stopped by Goldie’s for a Swedish House Mafia Pregame at MSG. This is the perfect spot to go to before a night out. Amazing food, super friendly staff, and delicious cocktails. I HIGHLY recommend the MLT sandwich it was out of this world. I had to the opportunity to chat with one of the managers Celest and she was an absolute delight. 10/10 spot.

What a great little joint! It has a comfortable sportsy type theme without being over the top. Plenty of TVs to see your favs without having so many that you cant hear the folks youre with. The food options are great, something for everyone. Plenty of local beers on tap with a full bar to meet everyones cocktail needs. Close to the train without the Penn Station/MSG prices.

I ordered room service from Goldie’s at 10:15pm. I am staying at the attached hotel… Courtyard by Marriott. It is now 11:55pm and no food. I have an email confirmation so I know the order went through. Very disappointing.

Service isnt great. I stayed at the hotel next door. Twice I went to this restaurant and tried to be seated. No one at the door ever greeted me. Couldnt get a table. It was very loud. Flagged down a bartender. He couldnt help. Later, I ordered food online from my room as Goldies has a menu in each hotel room at the Marriott Courtyard. Waited half hour. Never got a confirmation. Went to the restaurant. Bartender searched for order. Finally he told me it was delivered to hotel. Lots of confusion. Food was delivered without drink that was paid for. It was MUCH easier to go right down the street to several nicer restaurants with better service. Its New York... there are a million choices. Dont settle for mediocre.

Amazing time this past weekend with a few friends. The kale salad, MLT sandwich and fish fry were cooked to perfection. From the cocktails to the staff everything was outstanding! Cannot wait to be back here!

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food: BBQ ribs are OK but come as a tiny portion, sliders (2 mini Cheeseburger) are very delicious, better come during happy hours from 4-7 pm (e.g. you get a big Budweiser for 5 $ and some selected snacks - like the sliders - for like half the price

Unfortunately, this establishment is not wheelchair accessible. Every table is a high top and you have to take steps to get to the level where the booths are. Our family had to leave and find another place that we could sit and eat since my son is a wheelchair user. Unacceptable.

Robby and Krysten were very helpful with service. Great customer service was provided from them both!

This is the best place to drink and eat because the bartenders are wonderful and the chef is amazing! Close to Penn Station makes it convenient for commuters to relax after work. Tourists are 🤗

What an amazing new bar, I work right around the corner and everyone in our office has been dying to find a place like this to go after work for drinks and great bites. We also pregame here for all hockey games at the Garden. I cant express how amazing an addition this is to the area

Joel sucks unfortunately but Ruby is amazing all other staff is amazing, Joel mess it all up for everybody else. No customer service at all, again everybody else amazing, Joel specially should not work in customer service at all.

This place was a treat! We were staying at a hotel down the street and my husband was looking for a place to watch the game so the hotel suggested Goldies Tavern. It was a very nice American pub. Everyone was lovely and the food was delicious.

Gina is super friendly nd knows our friend group. Best service the best

Server was nice, food options are limited, but don’t nickel and dime your customers for “rocks” or “neat”. Your margin is fine with these pricy drinks. Maybe you get away with this with tourists staying in the hotel but as a local, much better options exist. I’ll find somewhere else in the future.

Well run establishment with great bar food. Perfect for a quick bite during the day or fun at night. Highly experienced management team that was nice enough to entertain some of my questions while I was there. Highly recommend.

Justin the bar staff waiter was super amazing. We Stayed at the adjoining Marriott hotel and he was professional and attentive. Justin confirmed our drinks and made us feel welcomed each night after our, day time excursions. Goldies wouldnt be the same without him. Great place and a hidden gem! Celebrated my 43rd birthday with my friends and their families. Joel, Celeste and the entire Goldie’s Tavern staff made it a memorable experience! This place feels like home and got flat screen TVs to watch the games and NBA Jam and Golden Tee for a retro feel. Must try: Chopped Cheese empanadas and the skirt steak. Brunch menu is top-notch!

Really good burger and fresh hot fries. Good beer selection. Bartenders inattentive, sarcastic, and borderline rude.

After leaving MSG with a few friends, we wanted to hit a bar and came across this spot. Great food, great drinks, and great atmosphere. The staff is super friendly too and make you feel welcome. They have a ton of tv’s so definitely coming back for college football Saturdays. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the hotel the restaurant resides in for a concert this past Wednesday. We met Celeste, she really took good care of us. The bar is brand new, but you would never be able to tell, the1 food, drinks, and service were all outstanding. Highly recommend

Goldie’s has amazing food! The staff is super friendly and attentive. You will not find a better spot to spend your time pre or post MSG events or any given night!!Have been more than a few times since they’ve opened, and always look forward to going back.

Bad music. Good drink selection. Fair to middling atmosphere at best. If you want to watch a game and have a drink this works, otherwise give it it a miss.

What a spot. Best bar to hit after a Rangers win. Watch out for the Big Donut, my wife had to drag me out cause I kept asking for more! Great staff, great atmosphere.

Very fine food and attentive service!

They are bad pay, they promise you payments and they dont give them, the people who cut cash, they steal our tips and Mr. Boby doesnt do anything and when you want to talk for an explanation he discriminates against you and mistreats you. To this day he hasnt paid me what he promised and he even told me to do whatever you want.
