This place serves outstanding wings, renowned for their large size, which exceeds that of typical Buffalo Wings. However, its the mouthwatering sauce and perfect crispiness that capture the spirit of upstate New York. On football Sundays, the place is packed with fans, though I no longer find that appealing. They air all the football games and have an excellent selection of beers. The only downside is their somewhat erratic operating hours, so its best to call ahead. According to a bartender, the hours listed on their website are accurate.
Bartender Greg is THE BEST there is!! He went out of his way to help, above and beyond in his kindness.Food was very tasty bar food, large portions. They have an impressive 14 (?) TVs for the size of the space and fun giant Jenga in the back.Hope you get Greg bartending to make it an awesome time!
The atmosphere in the place was great (and so were the drinks), but the bartender/manager really clouded the atmosphere. I sat at the table and within 2 minutes he came over and said that if I dont buy a beer at the moment then not to sit there. And he threw people out if they didnt order after 3-4 minutes of drinking. In short, the place is great, the service much less so
Surprisingly good little drinking establishment. The name is deceptive as it makes it seem more like a club or rough bar, but its more comparable to a sports pub. Signs in the bathroom advertise Aussie Rules and the flags above the bar and over the ceiling are from all over the globe. From the outside it might feel like an Irish bar, but its for more going on than that.A side room contains some bar games (Giant Connect 4 and some old arcade games) plus theres a pool table in the main space. Happy hour prices are reasonable and the bar staff were very welcoming.
Went here for drinks and UFC night, good vibe and plenty of TV’s and seating. Great spot to watch sports. Drinks were also a decent price for NYC.
Over from Liverpool and stopped off for a drink. Great place - bartenders make it, they are very friendly and accomodating (young Irish lad and a bald chap). They were chatting and serving the customers and even took a request for a song off a customer. Didnt have food so no idea.
My friend and I were on a mini pub crawl while our spouses were napping. We hit this bar because of the super cool name. The bartender was from was Ireland and suggested we order cold Guinness. It was delicious and on tap. We didnt eat there so I could not recommend the food. It was New Years Day, and the bar was just opening after a long night. We will be back!
Great Pub, love the vibe from the music and the unlimited access to a sporting event! Glen is the man, the myth, the legend at the helm! Greeting everyone as if they were a regular and always has a good story to tell! Stop by and give it a try! Its a Pub sans brunch, but with all the spirits you are in search of!
Its a very nice mellow place where everyone is just enjoying themselves in a great atmosphere!!!The wings are amazing and I think everyone should know about them, delicious!!!
This place has very good wings. They are often a bit larger than traditional Buffalo Wings (it is all about the ratio) but the sauce and crispness scream upstate New York. It gets packed for football Sundays which is cool if you are into that (I am too old but was once into it). They have all games for football and a good beer selection. The only thing is that their hours are a bit arbitrary so call ahead. I was told by a bartender the website hours are accurate. They are not.
The gentleman who was at the front admitting customers noticed my husband and I had our four year old son with us and brought us to the front of the line. The service and experience only improved from there.A restaurant / pub that acknowledges people’s situations and needs and doesn’t just see them as a means to an end is so uncommon these days. The atmosphere, customer service, food, and overall experience was excellent. Highly recommend.
Deceptively big inside lol I normally head to the back on the right hand side where they do the monthly comedy show last Weds of every month but place is cool, nice staff/bar and no complaints. Lots of TVs for sports so it can get packed but rightfully so, cool spot.
This place rocks!! The food is delicious, drinks are great, vibe is awesome. Lots of space, clean… what more could you asks for
Excellent bar, could not fault the food, drink or service. The many TVs had all sports covered and the pitcher specials are great for groups. Well definitely go back. Full stars
Hey Glen! Sorry I didnt make it back on Wednesday. Time was running out! Great bar, I met great people and I would mention their names but not sure if I would get sued or not. Glen, you are the man, you are worth your weight in gold! Great bar! If you hear of any jobs there then let me know. Thank you for the rec to go to McSorleys, that was amazing. I shall be back sooner rather than later. Love this bar and the people! Michael!Glenn call me! Drunk in Glasgow!
Nyc trivia hosts here on Thursdays. Aka, do not come here on a Thursday. Find somewhere else to play trivia; this is way too crowded, at least 20 teams playing. The bar stopped taking food orders because the kitchen was so backed up... this happens every Thursday, how are they not more prepared? The one guy bartender was actually quite nice and addressing the busy crowd. The girl bartender was acting like it was a Tuesday afternoon.Just not a fun time when you can barely hear the trivia guy and you cant order any food. However, the nachos are BOMB so get those if you come here.
Best bar ever, amazingly fast staff and amazing food, maybe the best wings in nyc
Came for the trivia night with a group of friends, stayed about two hours. Ordered a burger that never came, despite me asking the waitress twice and being assured it would come. Also, the wings my friend ordered were terrible.
Best sports bar in alphabet city
New sports bar in East Village. Reps Penn State football. Decent size with front bar, back bar, and side room. Plenty of TVs. Friendly Irish bartenders. Solid bar food and snacks.
We loved trivia night! The drinks were alright but the staff and trivia master were fantastic!
The owner seems like a nice guy from meath but be warned the female bar tender is a scammer. cheekily asked for a 70% tip then when only given 40% tip she pocketed all the cash and fraudulently charged my card
Nice staff, good selection, lots of tvs, and a penn state bar. i have to subtract a star because they place that was previously here, croxleys, was legendary for their monday wing night. if the hairy lemon had croxleys wings, it would be complete.
Wouldnt go back. Oddly enough there was no lemonade here and the 8oz well done burger with American cheese was extremely salty. Fries were great though!
Best sports bar in East Village. Multiple screens for your enjoyment . Glenn and his accommodating staff will make any visit enjoyable .
The Hairy Lemon is an Irish/Australian/US sports bar mixture with a good selection of beers, plenty of TVs, and decent pub food. A staple of Alphabet City where you really cant go wrong.
Good ambience and music for some louder conversation. They have multiple large screen TVs for any sports games and feature Penn state games as well. There is giant Jenga and a pool table if thats your thing. I took a star off for the food, the wrap I got was small and the fries were mediocre at best. Otherwise service is good and quick. They are open late so that is a plus
Moe is the man. Nuff said
Fantastic wings and pitchers of beer! Fun spot to watch sports !
Outdoor TVs with sound (hard to find!) and solid wings. Accommodating staff. Great place to catch a game
Probably. my favorite sports bar in the city. great place to watch any game. bartenders are goated glen is the man
They were amazing and let me inside with my roller blades on all night
Love love love for trivia on Thursdays. It gets busy so get there early. Good beer selection
Great atmosphere during sports games. Also good for a casual drink in the afternoon on a weekend.
Went last night to watch ufc.Pros: wings were good, drinks were solid. Crowd was fun. Bar was one of the cleaner bars I’ve been to in the city.Cons: They charged a very reasonable 10 dollar cover for the fights, then didn’t have the audio for the fights until the final 3 fights. Oh maybe they’d have the audio of some other sporting event? Nope, they play some loud awful music instead. Couldn’t hear my friends, or talk about the fights at all. They need to fix that before I come again.
Fun events always going on at the hairy lemon. Nice selection of drinks. Staff is quick and tentative.
Phenomenal service despite being crazy busy. Within seconds of sitting down, the bartender handed us menus and took our order.Think dive sports bar. Only had beer on tap. Lots of tvs and different games. Dont plan on listening as they pumped music loud.Packed at 2 pm. on a Saturday. Mostly young 20s crowd. Everyone was nice.Guinness was about $9 a glass.
Food and service are good. Reasonable prices for drinks ($10 - $17) and table QR code ordering is a plus as they bring everything out to you. My only complain is that I came here to watch the UFC fight as it was announced on their website/store that they will show it... and they did, just not audio and late. The fight also kept freezing on their screen so missed a few moments there. When asked about why no audio (club music was playing) the bartender blurted some along the lines of we dont pay for the audio??? So, it was pretty disappointing as it was already too late for my group to go somewhere else. Dont advertise youre going to show a sports events and NOT have audio for it. I mean, thats the whole point of watching the sport.
Great pub food, great Guinness some of the best wings and burgers in the area. Always has a good crowd for six nations rugby
Food and drinks were good but it was overcrowded. Some drunken patrons were rude and inappropriate.
Great bar for watching a game. Above average food and great drink deals
Great IPA on tap.
The service is terrible. After we finished our drinks, we were told get another drink or get out.The bartender also modified the tip to increase it - this is illegal and credit card fraud. I had to call the bar manager to explain the situation and adjust the charge.
Not much of a choice well its a sports bar had mozzarella sticks were lousy the cheeseburger and fries were okay i asked for the ff to be well done and they werent
Great sports bar lots of TVs and amazing bar foodIt is a crime if you dont try the wings here some of the best in nyc I love the garlic parmesan joints, the burgers are thick and really good too
Fantastic bar, great staff & will return again!
Best bar in NYMH. Great atmosphere. Always have the games on. Pretty good bar food. Cold beers. Glen is the man.
Happened upon this bar years ago with a good friend and it defiantly was in our regular rotation. Pretty calm bar. You can watch sports, chat, play pool and on some nights when there’s just a bit more people you can dance too.
They have incredible hotwings at this place!
Nice sports bar with excellent service and staff!
Awesome place. Cool vibes. Sports bar.
1st time in here. Atmosphere was Great wings were great too
Came in on a Wednesday Evening randomly with some friends. Service was prompt and quick. The chicken sandwiches were AMAZING. Would love to see what this place is like on a Weekend night. Seems like a lot of fun.
Used to frequent this spot when I lived next door. Great spot. Glen is the man!
Went here at 2am on a saturday just for beer with some friends. We bought drinks and was just talking at the bar. The bartender for some reason points at one of us and said we were “falling asleep” and need to get out. We said we will AFTER we finish the beers that we just ordered. bartender called us names and went to the bouncer to kick us out while we just wanted to finish the 5 beers we paid for. terribly poor service. I even apologized for the inconvenience but was only met with “gtfo.” grimey place with horrendous staff, no wonder there were about 4 people there on a saturday night.
Went here last night. The bar tender was rude. Shouted us over to hurry up and make an order. Had an attitude problem. Then didn’t put any gin in a gin and tonic, but said he did. He hadn’t. But charged for a gin. And wouldn’t change it, or remake it. Rude man. Don’t go.
These guys and gals are good friends and run a tight ship! Food is solid, and the service is pretty fast when it isnt too busy. Be prepared to wait when theres a major sporting event. Soccer is huge here, of course, as is rugby and Aussie football. UFC and major boxing matches are shown here as well.
Terrible for watching the UFC. These geniuses charge you $10 cover and then play house music during the walkouts and pre films which everyone enjoys. Fine bar else but avoid if you’re wanting to watch UFC
Went to watch the liverpool and Tottenham match. Was very lively and fun
This place was way too packed for World Cup soccer matches. If you managed to find a table to sit at early on, people ended up standing and blocking all the TVs, even though there were a lot of them. The toilet in the back corner wasnt flushing. I dont think anyone reported it, and the staff certainly never checked on it or marked it as out of order. This venue might be okay outside special event times.
The worst in service award goes to the harry lemon. No way they have a 4 star restring. No possibility at all. They are rude. Slow. Disrespectful. Food is nothing note worthy either.
Dependable Irish pub with live music and games.
Quick drink ✔
Honestly best sports bar in nyc. They play the sound which is unheard of. Great bar food, super fast service, even when theyre packed. The bartenders & owner are absolute angels. Great place overall & trivia is awesome
Disappointing dining experience, went on a friday night, we were the only ones there (shouldve gotten the hint). I ordered a beer & got half full glass, i kindly asked if it could get it topped off and was told thats how it comes. Smh, i used to come when it was known as croxleys ale house, which it definitely isnt. Youve been warned....
Best Guinness in Manhattan!
Great sports bar with unbelievable mozzarella sticks. 2023 UPDATE: STILL PERFECT, NO NOTES
Great East Village sports bar with awesome service
Good sports bar. TV’s lining the walls and they play the actual sound of the sport. Watched Canelo GGG 3 PPV here. Was a very reasonable $10 cover. Enjoyed my time here. Good atmosphere
This is my new go to sports bar in the lower east side. The owner is normally here and working behind the bar. Come here for solid bar food, pitchers of beers and plenty of TVs for your favorite sports nights. Great place to hang out for college football Saturdays and well as NFL Sundays. FYI for Saturdays, this is a Penn State bar.
Cheap beer. I went during a Wednesday. More for the rock and metal crowd 🎸. The Playlist is awesome. East point next door is for the edm and pop crowd. I prefer this atmosphere more
Great bar to watch football, have a beer and some good bar food. Helpful bartenders and fun themed nights throughout the week
Good vibe and food. Chicken wings superb
Decent food. Very attentive wait staff. Solid selection of beers and plenty of TVs. Space can get a bit cramped, particularly if you are seated for a quick bite. Overall, no major complaints. #trivia #localspot
Great Hamburger, friendly service, lots of TVs but a bit noisy.
I don’t remember the bartenders name but she was the nicest Irish lady I have ever met. Not to mention she handled an entire bar and tables BY HERSELF. So much respect and she was all over our drink orders ecspecially when they started getting low. Fair prices as well, I will be back.
It’s temporarily closed, but they have the BEST WINGS! Great place to watch sports, until it gets dangerously overcrowded and very hazardous to be in there. So we just leave then.
Horrible service just now. I was out for a friends birthday after work for some drinks, the waitress took everyone’s temperature in a very bothersome way and they would not allow us to order a round of beers without purchasing at least 3 meals because we were a party of 6. She said it was too many people. We left. Nasty attitude. Maybe they do not welcome Hispanics at their bar I don’t know but we were far from welcomed at this location.
Good service, clean and tidy spot, tons of screens. 👍🏻
I don’t complain about the service bud charging me $11 for mozzarella sticks., really next-door to you there’s a four-star restaurant that charge $14 for flatbread that is the size of a MD pizza seafood flatbread... reallyThat’s is just a example 🤷🏽♂️Really
Frustrating experience watching the Sunday NFL games here, we arrived an hour early and asked for our game to be put on one of the TVs near the bar but they refused to move it. They stream the games from HULU so they were pretty delayed and sometimes choppy. However, the COVID precautions were good, the atmosphere was nice, and the food was pretty good too.
Quaint bar with good vibes and a pool table. Though the comedy room out back is very very small and becomes a nice little sauna when the aircon breaks down.
Great place to hang out....people working there are very friendly and food is quite good too (had those bbq chicken sliders with fries). Definitely a go if you fancy good drinks.
Came here to watch this past ufc card. Only 2 bartenders were working with no servers and were grinding hard. I didnt expect the greatest service but the bartender played fair amongst the crowd and served accordingly which I highly appreciated. Tipped well everytime he served me food or drink because he def recognized his service and kind of made me priority over the people not tipping. Would I come back? If it werent for the crazy amount of people doing cocaine in the limited bathrooms, I would come back... but because of that, I wont come back and it isnt the bartenders fault. It is the owners for having one security guard thats smaller than me watching the door and not even looking at id
Fun place good priced drinks food is delicious. The owner is a great guy
This place rocks, good food, beer, great price and location. If your from the lower east side great place to stop by grab a beer, watch some tv and grub!
Great drinks and food. Nice staff. Lots of TVs. Worth a visit.
Exactly what you want out of a sports bar. Okay drink selection, TVs for the sportsball, and a good enough food menu.
I have seen this place when it first opened and I hope they dont sell only beer I hope they sell cocktail style drinks or margaritas, sangrias or mimosa
Im sorry but I miss Crowleys. The chicken here PLAIN SUCKS!!! NO TASTE AND RUBBERY. I WASNT ASKED FOR ANY REFILLS AND THE WAIT STAFF LOOKED AT MY SON WEIRD BECAUSE WAS ACTING DIFFERENT. HES AUTISTIC... MAKE CONVERSATION. THEY NEVER APPROCHED THE TABLE AFTER WE ORDER. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN...And I was a regular at Crowley. Such a shame. At least the waffle fries were ok...
Great, chill sports bar. Shows UFC fights! No cover
Petition for best mozz sticks in the world
Good beer selection, amazing waffle fries, and very reasonable prices
Nice spot, good food and many TVs
Great place to watch the F1!
Great place to unwind. Friendly and comfortable.
Great place for wings and a beer, however wait staff never seemed to come around our tables until I had to get the attention of the bartender and he was amazing with us
Good bar and many nice TVs to watch the game
If you are black don’t go here they over seasoning my food so I will never come back there again
Great service, friendly staff
Fun atmosphere and great staff.
Good wings and vibe
Average sports bar with average drinks and average food.
Great place to catch the games
Good for sport game night
Love the bartenders here.
An institution of post - footy get togethers.
