Tried the tasting menu. Individually each piece of food had its merits. I think some plates were too fatty and needed something acidic to balance. Overall, the tasting menu just felt like it wasnt harmonious. Sometimes there wasnt enough salt, sometimes there was too much. But I do think the octopus was cooked well. The tomato was unique. Service was excellent.

We went as a big group and they were out of a lot of things. It was extremely loud when I went there. We were seating downstairs and there were people playing live music and dancing upstairs. They also gave us like 4 menus for our whole party of 12.Not a fan of the cured sardines or mussel toast. The Fideua was quite interesting. Very salty and we were expecting rice but it was actually crushed up pasta. The beef tartare was pretty bland. Everything was pretty unique, but on the pricey side.

Nai is run by really good people and they make quality food. Though we originally did have a Valentine’s Day hiccup with Nai, the Nai team went above and beyond to make it right for me and my girlfriend and it was fantastic. All the food we had a chance to try on the tasting menu was delicious and the non-alcoholic cocktails/wine that we were offered were delicious…There wasn’t an item that we didn’t enjoy. We left beyond full and very satisfied.

We had an amazing experience here. We did the chefs tasting menu with the wine pairing. All of that for $150! I havent had a wine and food pairing for this price that was this amazing as I did here at Nai. The food was delicious and the pairings were incredible. A variety of wines and spirits. Raul made our experience even more memorable with his amazing detail about the food and wine and Spanish origins.

I barely rate places full stars. But Nai is the one who made my mind for it. Start with the walk in experience, it’s low key with simple and clean interior design. Nothing more or less, right on. Food: The beef tartare with the crunchy sliced chips on it is outrageous. The sea bass croquettes roll tastes crunchy and savory. The calamari is one of a kind, just as tender as egg white. Not exaggerated! The pasta paella with beautiful topping sauce on it, mixed up together, have a nice bite. Overall, it gave us a beautiful food journey! I’d love to take my loved one to have this incredible experience w/ me. Thank you for bringing us so many good dishes.

Just went there yesterday to celebrate my birthday. It was a great experience! The food was superb, and the service was awesome! We got 6 tapas with two Sangrias - Mango & Tropical which I liked both! The Tapas portion was a little bigger but it was perfect for 3 people. All of them were so good that I can’t tell you which one is my favorite! It definitely brought me back to my memories of Barcelona! The service was very attentive. It was still outdoor dining, but every table was set far enough apart that we felt very safe during the pandemic. Waiters all wore masks and stood nearby to make sure they could attended to us when needed.I am so happy that we found this gem in the East Village and will definitely be back to try more tapas!

Nai was my absolute favorite restaurant in New York. I was very excited to take my girlfriend there for a special dinner. However, after my last experience and after attempting to call and email the restaurant to kindly inform them of our experience, I will not be eating there anymore. After looking through the wine menu, my date and I had a couple questions and our waitress guided us toward selecting what sounded like two good options for each of us. She retrieved the respective bottles and allowed us to taste each one before filling up the full glass. When we tasted and did not like the wine, she informed us that we could not switch to another wine, even though we didn’t order a full bottle. She proceeded to fill up the glasses with what we had originally selected - however, in doing so, she filled my glass (which was still partially filled with the sample wine), with my date’s wine; thus mixing the two wines together. After I pointed this out, she did not make an effort to get me a new glass. When we were ordering food, we pointed out that we had concerns about dairy and meat, as my date is very allergic to both if she ingests them. The waitress assured us that the items we had inquired about were free of dairy and meat, and proceeded to take the rest of our order. When she brought out the first dish of artichoke, I realized the entire dish was cooked with goat cheese - when I pointed this out, she lightly apologized and brought a chickpea dish replacement for my date.Later, I realized as I was eating my favorite - the seafood pasta/paella-like dish - that the dish had been made with chorizo, even though I had requested it be cooked without. I have been pescatarian for 11 years. We had already eaten half of the dish when I realized this, and my date had started to have a slight allergic reaction after one bite. When I brought this up, the waitress assured me it was just clumps of noodles, not meat. After she walked away, I proceeded to taste the clumped piece to assure my date, but what I tasted was most definitely sausage. At the end of the meal, we ended up leaving partly hungry, as by the end it was hard to trust that anything that was prepared was edible for us. As someone that works in the service industry, and is a business owner, I wanted the manager to be informed of this waitress for training opportunities, but after repeatedly making efforts to reach out about our experience, we never received a response or apology.

Had an amazing time at @naitapas the other weekend trying out their very interesting Japanese fusion cuisine. Everything was absolutely amazing and really reminded us both of the “western food” you would get in Japan🥹Pasta paella was really special and the tobiko added such good texture to the dish. Katsu sando was also great (but ofc much more expensive than other places so it’s not fair to compare). Carpaccio also blew me away because the mushroom was so soft but chewy it almost didn’t taste like mushrooms! Went so well with the cheese and nuts! Dessert menu was a good closure and we were both surprisingly full afterwards even though all the tapas were not that big. I’d be super down to try their other restaurants!

Food was pretty good but quite poor in value. Upstairs looks great but downstairs felt like a school lunchroom; ambiance was awful. Asked if lactose intolerance or allergies could be accommodated and was told the chef is very particular about their dishes. Cocktails were amazing. The beef tartare would’ve been a slam dunk if it had a raw egg yolk. Sardines were fantastic. The beef katsu sandwich was disappointing given the hype; the pieces are impossible to bite into - requiring instead cutting it up which makes an un-fun mess. The tomate was fun but definitely gimmicky; a must try once if visiting the restaurant but not something that’ll be ordered again. Service was alright although the servers may have been stretched too thin to give the proper amount of attentiveness.

It honestly feels like I havent had a proper sit-down dinner like that in a long while. This meal reminded me of the times before the pandemic when I would do my research and hunt down restaurants with interesting modern interpretations of traditional cuisine. Some dishes blew me away: the vinegar-soaked cherry tomatoes, the katsu sando and the japanese-flavored paella that seemed to use chopped up vermicelli rather than bomba as the base. I also very much enjoyed the patatas, which was definitely double- or triple-fried for extra crisp.I hope the outdoor dining rules stick beyond the pandemic; it was such a beautiful evening out.1. Pulpo a la Gallega (La Coruna-Galicia imported octopus, boiled; spanish smoked de la vera paprika; extra virgin olive oil + mediterranean Sea salt)2. Tomate Desnudo (napa grape cherry tomato; gazpacho gelatin; arbequina extra virgin olive oil; Pedro ximenez sherry vinegar; mint + cilantro + mediterranean sea salt)3. Tartare (45 day aged prime ribeye; Jerusalem artichoke + cilantro + lime; pedro ximenez sherry vinegar; arbequina extra virgin olive oil)4. Alioli Prime Rib Katsu (45 day aged prime ribeye; estrella Galicia beer batter; padron pepper; hokkaido milk bread + garlic alioli)5. Patatas Bravas (fire roasted plum tomato sauce; spicy Spanish smoked de la vera paprika; chipotle alioli)6. Fideua (catalán toasted pasta paella; pei mussel + little neck clam + wild pink shrimp; garlic alioli + tobiko + nori seaweed)7. Coconut Flan8. We were deeply disappointed with the food quality at nai. for the price point, the food was not hitting the mark and out of the hundreds of places i’ve been to in new york, nai is close to the bottom of the list. we ordered several cocktails, all were fine and somewhat creative which was fun. we ordered a salad, octopus, paella, croquettes, and katsu sandwich. everything was severely under seasoned and bland (especially the octopus), except for the paella which was probably the only thing that had flavor. the restaurant has a cute vibe, but the service is pretty subpar (waiters seemed too busy and we were seated 18 minutes after our reservation time). would not recommend.

Me and my family were there celebrating my mother’s birthday. I found the restaurant from people’s recommendation. I looked up the menu on their website before I decided to try it on. I always love the restaurant who had testing menu option. I called ahead to book the reservation and ask for the testing menu. We got there by 7pm on Wednesday. The place was pretty nice, I like the way how they decorated and set it up. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The testing menu which we ordered was included the sangria (they also have one with wine). Unfortunately I feel so sorry cuz couldn’t remember the name of each course. But they all so delicious for sure. Highly recommended to order the sea bass, 45 days aged prime ribeye KATSU, and the seafood pasta Paella. Will be back❤️

I didnt love the food. The beef tartare was good but not outstanding. The liver mousse was tasty but not unique. The bread portions were strange given it was clearly not enough for the food given and an odd number of slides for 2 people. The octopus tasted great but strange in texture.Late getting us to a reserved table and clearly its an issue based on the reviews and how skilled the hostess was in apologizing. The decor is clean, and they have a cute waiting area that maximizes for space.

Cool and comfortable decor. Exposed concrete, unique chairs, bits of copper, big windows. Upstairs screams intimate wedding reception or shower. The chef is a master at combining textures to enhance the experience. The Chilean Seabass dish is a great example. Very crunchy on the outside, soft and creamy fish inside. The deep fried short ribs were decadently tender with a slight crispiness and served over a small pasta cooked in meat juices...YUM. if you are a fan of octopus, it is served sliced thin and it is both very tender and flavorful. The blueberry sangria is a new favorite! The coconut flan is the perfect delicate texture and delicious! The staff is both efficient and personable. The manager, Raoul, from Spain is extremely friendly and a perfectionist who knows how to treat patrons and make your dining experience special. From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting ambiance and tasteful decor set the stage for a delightful evening. The menu is simple , offering an impressive array of tapas. Each dish we tried was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The patatas bravas were perfectly crispy with a smoky, spicy sauce that had just the right amount of kick. The gambas al ajillo were cooked to perfection, and bursting with garlic and olive oil.The highlight of our meal was the fideau, a rich and aromatic dish brimming with fresh seafood, pork sausage , and perfectly cooked pasta noodles infused with saffron. It was a symphony of flavors that transported us straight to the heart of Spain. The service was impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable and passionate about the menu, offering excellent recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was seamless. *update they graciously provided us a full refund which was very appreciated.Very disappointing meal for my boyfriend and me. First I would like to say that our server was very nice and did the best he could regarding the situation. We got the valentine’s day special which was a total rip off considering how mediocre the tapas was. The patatas bravas came out steaming as if they were microwaved and were texturally both hard and mushy. The scallop crudo was warm and sour? Maybe that was the flavor profile they were going for.. but it was definitely not a pleasant or what I expected from a crudo. We kept hoping the dishes would taste better as the course continued especially because this was a $250 meal (not including alcohol) and there was nothing to do but hope for the best.. The beans in the octopus dish were hard and under seasoned, the steak was also under seasoned and extremely chewy. Weirdly it was covered under a bed of kale that was not dressed at all.. I couldn’t believe not a single dish was good. Overall a deeply underwhelming, mediocre, and extremely overpriced meal.If the meal wasn’t as expensive as it was, I don’t think I would feel so upset. We had high hopes considering the reviews we’ve read, but seemingly it’s just a mid place that is fueled by the NYU crowd. Maybe if there were flamenco dancers this evening the meal would’ve had more flavor.. who knows.. I’ve been to Spain many times and could have ordered all the same things at any of the amazing restaurants in Barcelona for much less than 50€ for the two of us.

Everyone was raving about the steak katsu sandwich, but ours just was not tender enough, even though it was a medium rare. Lacked seasoning too. The squash lacked flavor too. The cod toast was great because the fish itself was super tender, but the toast was very crispy. The roe on top also added to the combination of textures. Fideua was a paella thing except with really short noodles and not rice, a very unique dish that was fun to try but flavors were pretty much just salt.Atmosphere 9/10Lovely minimalist interior design. My family, including relatives visiting from out of town, were so excited about this experience and had been looking forward to it for weeks. However, on the day of our reservation, the host called to inform us that the show was actually at 8 PM—completely different from what their website advertises—and they could not accommodate us at the time. This was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We chose this restaurant specifically for the dinner and show experience and planned our evening accordingly. It’s unacceptable for a business to provide inaccurate information on their website, especially for something as important as showtimes, which people plan their entire evening around. To make matters worse, they made no effort to make it right or find a solution for us.We expected a special evening, and instead, we were left scrambling to make alternate plans. If you’re booking here for a flamenco show, beware—their advertised times may not be accurate, and they don’t seem to prioritize customer satisfaction.Let me know if you’d like to customize this further!

I tried Nai years ago, and remember liking the food there. So I was excited to go back again when my friend suggested tapas for her birthday dinner. Our party of 4 had a 6:30 reservation on a Friday. For drinks, I had the Central Park Carousel (Yuzu sake, Moroccan black olive-washed vermouth, raspberry, lime, ginger, cava), which I really liked. It wasn’t overly sweet, and it was refreshing.Overall, the food was only okay. It was kind of pricey for what it was. We ordered a bunch of plates to share:Portobello Carpaccio (truffle oil, marcona almond, manchego) - this was probably the best dish of the night. There were a lot of flavors but everything went well together. The marconas were a nice complement to the trufflePatatas Bravas (with chipotle aioli) - can’t really go wrong with fried potatoes, but not the best patatas bravas I’ve hadSea Bass Toast (with tobiko and orange) - I liked the tobiko but I remember the sea bass being a bit dryGarlic Shrimp - this was very underwhelming. It tasted like they got the shrimp from the frozen section of a Shop RiteOctopus - this was actually pretty good but it was bland. Salt would have helpedFideua (similar to paella, with mussels, clams, shrimp, tobiko, nori, and aioli) - interesting take with the tobiko and noriSkirt steak - this was good. The dipping sauce it came with was niceI think the dishes are very well presented and very pretty. Unfortunately, they look better than they taste. I probably won’t be back for a third visit.

This restaurant is simply magical! The food was not only superb but also amazed us with its variety of flavors and quality ingredients. The service from PJ and Annie was top-notch - they created a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We must also mention the friendliness of the hostess who greeted us with a smile and warmth. Our visit to this restaurant left an incredibly pleasant impression, and we will gladly return here again! A big thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful evening!

Cute restaurant and great food! Definitely on the pricier side and does get pretty busy for dinner, so make sure to get a reservation. Staff was great and attentive throughout the night. We were a group of 3 and we ordered:- Portobello Carpaccio- Brussel sprouts- Gambas (one of our favorites of the night)- Octopus (good but wish this was seared a bit more, texture was a bit slimy)- Chorizo (delicious! I liked the bread it came with too)- Croquette (another favorite of mine)- Oysters (very different and tasty, highly recommend)- Churrasco (cooked well but could probably skip)- Yuzu creme brulee for dessert (could also skip on this)We enjoyed all the dishes and were stuffed by the end. After 4 glasses of wine, the total with tip came out to around $320.

Update: love the vibe and interior decor of the new location!Great selection of tapas, we wanted to try everything! Couldnt order that much with only 3 people, but we loved the flavor profiles of everything we tried. There were classics as well as some fusion and Asian influenced flavors. They had fun fruity sangrias that are worth getting as well. They presentation of everything was also very thought out. Every dish was presented beautifully, and many with a fun flourish or twist. It was surprisingly considering how low-key the place seemed from the outside as well as the overall laid back vibe of the space! Def will be back with more friends next time!

Shocked I havent left a review as Ive been going to Nai for 10 years. This is their third location for me and the food is the best yet! Our server was very helpful steering us towards a great bottle of a tempranillo blend. The stand out dishes for us were the endive salad, sea bass, baby back rib. I also recommend getting the pulpo because its such a filling dish! And for those that like it - the chicken liver mousse is superb. Sad I didnt take any pictures but everything looks as good as the picture they post. Ive been greeted by the owner every time Ive gone. Hes always so nice and clearly takes pride in is restaurant. I look forward to going back many more times in the future.

I had been to this restaurant before when they were across the street and really liked it. Our experience at this new location was very different. The food was very average for the price. We ordered the tuna crudo, the shrimp, ny strip, and patatas bravas. The tuna is served with crushed ice on it so it’s very watery. The steak was fine but had breadcrumbs all over it which took away from the flavor. They also did not have a working bathroom, so I’m surprised they were allowed to stay open.

The one place I enjoy going to especially with visitors and friends is Nai Tapas. The only thing is when they have Flamenco dancing, it is a little harder to book at the dancing times. I would always suggest to book at least 3 weeks in advance if you are having a small party get together. They make a nice sangria, either red or white...had both. Plus they have a nice selection of beers and wine. John, the big guy there is just as pleasant as he always been. Got there a little earlier and he sat us done immediately near the stage. He always knows I drink the Porter from Spain which I posted in the pictures. It is a good porter and not bitter at all. Everything we ate was just getting better. Even the bread that comes on the table is good with the Virgin olive oil. They updated the big clunky bar and put a smaller one where they can fit about 18 more people in the restaurant. The Flamenco is good on a tiny stage, but the 2 young girls are very pleasing to the eye. They both have slightly different styles, but very passionate and effective. Got a feeling the guy, guitar who may be the head, may be the driver of the dancers.if you could come here once a week, I would not blame you. Between the service, food and the Flamenco...you have a very entertaining evening!

I like the food here, creative, delicious, with great presentation but a little bit expensive for the portion. The decoration is minimalism, modern and chic. What I don’t like the place is that the table for two people is a little bit small, and there is no place on the wall to hang your stuff if you wear an overcoat in the winter. The hook under the table is such a failure as you bag may fell off if you hang it there.

Despite friendly staff and a nice environment, I was ultimately disappointed by their food. There were a few standouts- the mousse and sardina- but the other dishes lacked spirit. The carpaccio was drowned in overpowering truffle oil, the calamari was one-note, and the endiva was a poorly executed salad course barely mixed or dressed. I hope in the future they can capture more of the fun energy that Galician food (and Spanish food broadly) has to offer.

We never had to wait or try and catch the attention of the staff and all interactions were so pleasant. The general manager and the chef himself were out and around checking on people, which really speaks to how much they care about their patrons experiences. The food was incredible though! Updated review in 2023:Leaving a new review to build on the one that I left ~3 years ago.Although Nai has shifted locations across the street, it continues to be one of the best restaurants in NYC.Ambience:Nais new location is very interesting, decorated in a slightly more modern/chic way than their previous location. We sat right near the street side and it was a wonderful experience.Food:Not only have I never had a bad experience with Nai, Ive never had a bad dish from them. Theyre frequently adding new and interesting tapas and drinks to the menu that Im excited to try. Each dish is wonderfully prepared, seasoned, and presented. Although some are on the simpler side (the shrimp, for instance, is basically prepared in a mixture of butter, lemon, and paprika), its done very well.Service:Our server, Annie, was attentive and kind. She helped make our anniversary dinner special, always making herself available whenever we needed something but not being overbearing in any way. In addition, the restaurant comped some glasses of dessert wine which came alongside our cheesecake dessert.Nai continues to impress and Ill continue to be a loyal patron in the future.Review from 2020:Nai Tapas is far and away one of the best restaurants in New York. From the moment that my wife and I walked in to the moment we walked out, it was clear how much care and detail went into every inch of this place. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and happy to accommodate any patron. The ambiance of the place is phenomenal, with every vase, every flower, every chair chosen with acute attention to detail. Additionally, every Thursday and Saturday you have the opportunity to see an excellent live flamenco show.It has all of this going for it without even mentioning the food which is phenomenal. All of the dishes are created by chef Ruben Rodriguez, a man wholly deserving of a Michelin star or two. The tapas are small but, if you listen to the staff on how much you should order for your party, you will walk away feeling very satisfied. I will be recommending this place to every person I know.

My brother was skeptical but we were offered it to try and were told if we don’t like it they will let us chose a different one. Wow, Nai exceeded my expectations. Everything was SO delicious. We ordered: the Spanish mackerel, Patatas bravas, endive salad, leek quiche, short ribs, and garnacha wine. Each dish had a main feature but the garnishes were some of my favorite parts. The candied pecans in the endive salad tied it all together. The garlic mousse that came with the quiche was so innovative, I never would’ve thought to make that. The thinly sliced EVOO soy sauce garlic bits were a delightful addition to an already delicious Spanish mackerel. Everything was divine. My partner said it was the best quiche he’s ever had (i agree) and the short rib was fall off the bone.I’m surprised I was able to book a table here with lots of open seats day-of on Friday bc it was so good. It was one of those meals that made me feel so grateful that I am able to eat such delicious meals.Only bad part—and this is absolutely a nitpick—was that the lights were on so bright. It felt like when you’re at a club at 4 AM and they turn the lights on to get you out. Management, lower the lighting please! I feel like by doing so it would complete the upscale ambiance.

Everything we ordered was tasty, we had the classic Shrimp in Garlic Sauce, I could eat one ton of bread with the garlic oil/sauce from this dish! Brussel sprouts with pork belly tasted too good to be considered vegetables. Fried potatoes in garlic aioli was also a classic and a must order, plain delicious! Went on a Friday around 7 without a reservation for two ppl. Was able to get a table immediately but the place quickly filled up. If you are looking for 8pm dinner, better make a reservation! I had been to their original location a couple of years back. The new space is very nice and open. Wait staff was very friendly and warm. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. Food ranged from good to pretty average. Menu is split into two, Modern tapas and Traditional tapas. The “Modern” tapas I think are more interesting - the noodle paella dish called Fideus was really good which was a mix of Spanish and Japanese flavors. For the price though, could have used more seafood. Another standout - a total sleeper! - was the cauliflower dish, again on the Modern tapas section. The Churrasco on the Traditional tapas was good but $33 good?? Not sure about that. So that’s my beef. I think in general, I felt prices were high for the quality and amount of food. But that’s what happens I guess for tapas or small plates. Also, absolutely ok to order just two or three (if you are really hungry with a big appetite) per person. We ordered 6 and we were way too full.

Overall, an enjoyable meal, but not somewhere Id feel the need to come back to.The service was the highlight, our waitress was friendly and efficient and the (owner? manager?) was willing to swoop in whenever we needed something. Plates were replaced when my companions requested and wine and water were consistently refilled. The food was hit or miss. Some dishes, like the tomatoes with consommé gelée, were lovely - light, fresh, and interesting. Also very enjoyable were the ravioli, the scallop crudo, and the carrots. The rest of the dishes were a bit of a disappointment. The serving of truffled portobello was too large and heavy to finish. The sea bass toast had too much toast and not enough bass. The cod was blah, overly creamy and not enough dimension.Wine list was nice, if short, and seemingly lacking any Spanish whites. We had a very enjoyable orange bottle from France. Didnt try any cocktails. The real hit for me was the noise level: you couldnt hear your companions talking whatsoever. There was no music playing, but the room had no batting whatsoever and the amount of noise was unbearable at times. Not what I would expect from a more intimate sit-down place like that.

In my honest opinion, tapas are made for girls. Thats why weve decided to venture here during our girls night out. It wasnt a spectacular experience but it was suitable for a catharsis. In terms of the food and drinks, heres what I had to say...Blueberry Pomegranate Sangria - First pitcher was not potent. Second pitcher hit the spotChurrasco Arriero (skirt steak sauteed with garlic and spicy cherry peppers) - Best dish but TOO well done, which made it chewyLomo Adobado Con Pimientos Asados (seasoned pork loin with fresh roasted red peppers) - Definitely tender but lack of flavors. More gravy would be awesomePatatas Bravas (spicy potatoes gently coated with spicy house tomato sauce) - Perfectly seasoned with a mild kick. Sweetly donePatatas Alioli potatoes basted in a creamy garlic alioli sauce - Ultimately creamy but no garlic flavor. Tasted like plain mayoMejillones Rias Baixas (galician style mussels in garlic, virgin olive oil and white wine) - Bland. Sand. FlatPulpo A La Gallega (spanish octopus in virgin olive oil, sprinkled with sea salt and sweet paprika) - Nicely spiced but overcooked. A little texture would be greatEsparragos Navarros (imported white asparagus with a minced onion and pepper vinaigrette) - Fancy but the sogginess killed the asparagus tasteWith all the mentioned above, we still had room for dessert (which was what we were hoping for). This place is a little hard to find because we got misguided by the confusing Yelp (Google) map. However, the friendliness of the staff made up for it all. I like it.Good bread wish it was warm/toastedBoquerones (basque anchovies over toast) - similar to the sardines, but the smaller amount of fish, but very strong taste

Not sure why the restaurant staff do not wear masks at all. The servers do not wear a mask to serve the dishes. When they introduce the dish, their droplets will be on it. Again, vaccination DO NOT prevent infection of the COVID-19. Let alone the fact that the delta variant is significantly contagious.

Overcrowded and seating arrangement was terrible... By the end of the dinner everyone in the party was grumpy.. the food was mediocre and the meat was tough... Saw an old lady fall because they decided to have a platform for some dancers. One guys plate broke and got all over my food. They cleaned it up but didnt bring any food. Not coming back to this place....

Wow, Nai was a surprisingly bad experience: High prices, small portions, watery cocktails, terrible lighting and blah decor. Decent service and tasty food, but not worth all the rest!

The sangria is fantastic. Small place so definitely make a reservation for a Friday or Saturday night, but great atmosphere. The service was great (and overall it was pretty affordable for the quality). Would definitely recommend!

I would give Nai ten stars if the app allowed me to do it. Found Nai by chance with a quick search, and were blown away by not only the delicious food, but also by the immaculate service. Jorge was friendly and attentive and gave amazing recommendations, and Carlos followed up with us to make sure my sister and I had everything we needed. Every item we tried had us Ooooooo-ing and Ahhh-ing. The queso was the perfect starter with warm bread and a sweet but not overpowering jam. I could die happy after trying the croquetas, and OH MY GOD THE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I cannot wait to bring everyone I love back to Nai. Thank you Jorge, Carlos, Am and the Culinary Connoisseurs in the kitchen, you’re kings and queens of your craft.

I honestly WISH I could give them more stars than Google allows. They have blown me out of the water. It took me a while to gather my wits enough to attempt to express how astounding of an experience this place was. Gordon Ramsey would be PROUD.The ambience. The drinks. The staff.THE FOOD.We had the shrimp (Gambas), the squid (Calamar), oxtail (Rabo), potatoes (Bravas) — for drinks: the Fun Aunt drink, & the Shy Mother.Even the bread had me ready to abandon all my responsibilities and move here. All 10000/10. I really can’t say much more to have anyone grasp the chokehold this place will forever have on my heart.I’ll let the photo speak for itself.COME HERE. You would NOT regret it.

Nai Tapas Bar is a basement level eatery serving up a variety of Spanish small plates and sangria. The sangria here is some of the best in the city, with plenty of fresh fruit in a multitude of flavors and wine bases. Unfortunately, the tapas are hit or miss; patatas bravas were soggy and under seasoned while the tortilla espanol was dense and one-note. Not a bad option when in the East Village, but go elsewhere for better quality tapas.

One of the best all around restaurants in NYC. The classic dishes are better than most you would find in Spain. The contemporary fusion dishes still tastefully reflect traditional essence of tapas. Portions and prices are solid. It’s a beautifully designed restaurant that’s not tacky or gimmicky like most in the city. Modern yet cozy at the same time. The service was the best of all. Our server and the owner made it a special night for a special occasion!

Everything was excellent, but the truffle mushroom almond dish was outstanding - and I look forward to getting it again and again.
