3.5/5 What to expect at a trendy ‘Italian’ west village establishment. Cocktails are the best part of the meal. Sitting outside offers fantastic people watching- vibes are good inside as well. Favorite dish was theRICOTTA GNUDI; sauce is flavorful, it’s not found everywhere. Seasonings used in the lamb meatballs did not compliment each other. And yes cheese is a key ingredient in lasagna bianco, however the dish had way too much, I struggled to finish which does not often happen. Cocktails are good though.
Great italian spot. sister to l’artusi just down the street but offering a more chill vibe. love the wine here. affogato is great for dessert. gnudi is good, not the best but the arancini is great - lovely spicy kick to it, just a bit on the expensive side for the quantity. great vibe for a dinner with friends or date night. patio space is plentiful in the summer.
Walked in at 5:15 PM on a Wednesday and was seated immediately inside. It seems they book up even for early seatings so make a reservation ahead of time, especially if you want to sit outside.Everything was superb - great relaxed service while also maintaining professionalism, a gnarly Lambrusco explosion occurred next to our table and the servers cleaned it up straightaway. My favorite was the shrimp scampi (the black garlicky oil with balsamic vinegar was so good, I’d literally drink it). The affogato was also insane. Would love to go back, I think it’s a great date spot with amazing food.
This is one of my absolute favorites in the city!! The food here is stunning to the senses especially the beef tartare and the cheese/meat board. The late night vibes in here are just magical as everyone is chatting under the perfect amount of low light. The menu is not cheap but the experience is just phenomenal — I keep coming back. Totally stop in here especially on a week night for the best time. I highly recommend the reigning queens cocktail is fabulous.
Good friend took me to this posh restaurant in the West Village~ I really enjoyed the lasagna~ I haven’t cooked this dish myself for a long time, and the flavor just reminded me of my old time:) The kale Caesar salad was very healthy and fresh. The lamb meatball was outstanding; I barely eat any meatballs, but I was happy I tried this one.Service was wonderful.Just one thing: During the busy hour around 7 PM, it was really noisy in the restaurant. I had to raise my voice a lot to speak with my friend 😅 But this is pretty normal for that time and the nature of the restaurant.Overall, I was in such a great mood to see my friend, nothing else matters.Recommend if you like Italian food!
A cozy, pleasant spot in the West Village area, ideal for enjoying a few drinks and a simple meal. However, the food quality and taste are only average. The staff is friendly, and the clientele is laid-back.
The absolute WORST food I’ve eaten in the city. Lamb meatballs were COLD and clearly a poor attempt at reheating old food (pockets of warm and cold). Ricotta Gnudi filled with poor quality cheese and tasted sour. The chicken wings were a sad attempt on Asian flavor and undercooked. The soup was edible, but could have easily came from a can. The whole experience was rather confusing and will not be returning. Such a shame since the service was great.
@netgonenutsforfoodHad a wonderful meal here - crispy Brussels sprouts side blew us away! (though I’d shake off some excess sauce drippings since it is on the salty side for me) The hazelnut topping brought so much nuttiness and texture to the dish!Espresso martini was excellent, and so was the boozy Tiramisu French toast!Lasagne was good, though not as memorable as we anticipated. If you want to try a ‘non-saucy’ lasagne, I’d say head to I Sodi instead.
Came here for lunch with a friend, immediately loved the entire vibe & feel of the place upon entering. Service was friendly & attentive! Do not sleep on the Brussel sprouts, they are divine. The Lamb meatballs were also delicious, I personally am very picky with my lamb but this did not disappoint! The wagyu tartare was okay, wouldve preferred to have gotten something else but will definitely come back for brunch next time!
Love love love this West Village spot! Greg was fantastic with the cocktail program and recommendations like the fluke crudo and the lamb meatballs. My favorite drink was the Sailor’s Warning. Can’t wait to get back here for more fun!
We went for brunch and had an excellent experience! The tiramisu French toast was delicious and the lasagna was perfection. Compared to L’Artusi brunch, the environment was brighter/more open and the food was just as great. We’ll definitely be back!
Amazing vibes & food - a must try especially if you’re a fan of L’artusi. Have been here several times, don’t skip the crudo, waygu tartar or chopped salad. Highly recommend
A must try from the same owners if L’artusi. B’artusi is a cozy wine bar that brings you small plates and wonderful drinks. I love their cocktails and they make one of the best espresso martinis in the city. They have a rotating menu and a wonderful dinner for 2 option for just over $50 a person (not a bad deal in NYC). If you don’t have a reservation, put your name down and hop around the village. It’s a wonderful neighborhood.
Notable items: The lasagna was truly a highlight, it was rich but not heavyReasonable prices?: would say that the Arista panini and lasagna were reasonable for the amount of food we got, but the arancini was kind of a joke for $14...Most worth: definitely dont miss out on the lasagnaOverall opinion: I would definitely recommend this place as a first or second date spot or a place to have pre-outing drinks and a light dinner
Drop in. The espresso martini and lambrusco bianco were great. The stars were the wagyu tartare and lasagna. I would definitely come back to try more.
Amazing food and environment! Ask for Vicky she would improve your experience.
It was a very cold Feb Sunday of a holiday weekend and we enjoyed our hour respite before dinner. It is crowded and noisy but its a nice vibe and everyone from the man at the door to the servers and bartenders are friendly and good natured. We enjoyed our cheese and meat tray and drinks and the classic view of New York street behind us.
Great bar. Good food and drinks. Staff was fantastic. Just a bit loud in the space when full.
Nice and cute cafe.
Great location, but nothing special. Prosciutto is closer to boars head ham and the cookies tasted a day old.
If the waiter recommends it. Order it! Fun cocktails too. Make sure to leave room for dessert!
Amazing Arista sandwich, which is fancy take on a Cuban. Pairs well with the Haut Medoc
Our server was wonderful and attentive. The food and wine was great as always - we split the Brussels, mushroom sandwich, and arancini. Highly recommend all. Good size portions.
Definitely recommend Ceviche and Shrimp Scampi, the sauce for each is highlight. Lasagna is good too, just maybe I was expecting more tomato sauce. Next time I would like to try panini, it seems perfectly toasted (for other table😉)
Food was great, so was the service. Would definitely come back.
Super friendly staff and we were able to walk in and sit outside. We started with the Arancini and shrimp which were both super tasty. The kale Cesar was fine, but the lasagna made up for it because it had the burnt cheese bits 🧀 🔥
Lovely place. We had some amazing cocktails, the food was good but not the best Ive had. I Really recommend this place if you want to have 1 cocktail with your friends.
Amazing ceviche and shrimp scampi, and the lamb meatballs were excellent. Great atmosphere and service
Nice place for a bite and drinks with friends. I won’t give it 5 stars because it was quite hot inside during a sunny day, hope they fix the air conditioning. Service was pretty good, really liked the white fish crudo and the fried gnocchi! Drinks were quite strong too.
Nice, affordable option to its counterpart Lartusi. Cocktail options are decent and food was also very good. The duck and prosciutto flatbread was delicious. Definitely busy and a little loud, but overall fun vibes.
Food was good, a little salty. However, our waitress Sydnee was very rude, rushing us out of the restaurant with an hour still before closing. She asked us “are you ready yet?” after less than a minute of first giving us the bill?? It seemed somehow that she was mad at us. She couldn’t even look us in the face. My partner and I agreed it was our worst waiting experience. We even wanted dessert but completely forgot about it because of her emphasizing the bill and not giving us a chance to order.
Loved the chicken wings, scampi (comes with bread and cheese), and arancini (fried risotto and cheese bal). All the flavors are great.
Food was not good and the room is an echo chamber (very loud), but service was great.
Nice setting and vibe. Crowd definitely on the younger side. Drinks were great. Appetizers definitely in the smaller side, but the panini sandwiches are a winner.
B’artusi is a nice spot to grab drinks or have a small snack. Seating can be a bit tight but they took me as a walk-in on a Friday night! Had a delightful martini, and shared some charcuterie. It can be very loud, and the charcuterie wasn’t anything to write home about for the money.
The drinks and service were very good. We only had a meat and cheese plate to eat, but also good. Come here early otherwise the seats fill up quickly
Grabbed wine and an early dinner here at the bar. Wine selections are solid and refreshing. Sandwiches are too much on the salty side for my liking, but at least they come in large portions. Service is friendly and helpful!
Takes reservation at 10:15 when restaurant closes at midnight. 5 minutes after seating told last call for food. Lasagne was microwaved and mostly cold inside. Drinks okay but very weak. Definitely not on the same level as L’Artusi. Employees seemed annoyed of customers coming into restaurant.
Perfect bar for a late night cocktail, wine and bites if youre hungry! Alot of placed in the west village close early and I took my friend here who had a late night flight in.
Really great vibe. We were able to do walk-in on Thursday night. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and drinks were top notch.
Very friendly servers and good food. The espresso martini was very good. Also I loved tiramisu feench toast as well. The lasagna is good too. I was very surprised that there is no strong tomato sauce on the lasagna, but it still tastes so good.
Loved the arancini and Caesar salad! Lasagna was good too. The cookies were good but nothing special.
Dined here alone for lunch - outside seating was nice, most servers were quite friendly but it seems I got unlucky (had to go inside to get the check & was told to go back outside to wait…)Ordered the lasagna and was unfortunately very disappointed. I’m not very picky about italian food, but there was basically no tomato sauce(?!) so the entire dish was extremely dry and bland.Maybe okay if you’re here to grab a drink and chat with a friend, but remarkably disappointing otherwise & especially with the price point ($36 after tip).
The place is cute, ceviche isn’t great, would never order it again. aranchini was pretty good, skin contact wine was great!
Can’t sing enough praises for b’artusi. Came in once because L’artusi was full for the night. I’ve been back here as my first choice ever since! Whether it’s a date, with companions, or a solo dine-in, this place sets the bar for food, wine, and incredible service. You won’t regret this choice.
Amazing time. Great place with unbelievable food. John the waiter was fantastic and insanely accommodating with our (many many) allergies.Couldn’t reccomend more!
Food was tasty! But portions were a bit small and there weren’t great vegetarian options. But great service and wine options.
We had a wonderful lunch - great brunch and Italian food, nice observant service. The lasagne was a 10 out of 10.
Food is fine. Reason for review is that hostess took our jackets and offered to hang them; when leaving, we found the jackets on the ground under some other customers’ feet at the bar. Unprofessional and disrespectful.
Excellent vibe, great service + cocktails. Will definitely be back here for the wine given their extensive list. Can’t wait for the food menu to expand!
Nice selection of wine, cocktails, and beers. Tried the arancini and really liked it. Nice vibes.
Very chic and certainly holds the appeal of an enviable instagram post. Pretty setting, pretty presentation, sound selection of drinks (cocktails, wine, Italian beers) and attentive service. Smaller portions. All was tasty
Great spot to grab a drink
The rains were starting and we had an hour to kill before our show. Stopped in for a light bite and a cocktail. Had an espresso shot in the tiniest little cup. I feel enormous.
Came here for afternoon nibbles and drinks with friends.Shrimp scampi (and the garlic bread that came with!) and kale Caesar were delectable.Nice selection of wine cocktails and NA drinks as well - something for everyone! It was a decadent enough meal while still feeling pretty healthy afterwards. Would definitely come back!
Love the bar seating. And the aviation cocktail that’s not on the menu (anymore) :)
Fantastic place - the food and the drinks were wonderful. Brussel sprouts, arroncini, and burger were all great
Really good for brunch, went there when it just opened, refreshing tasty food, feels clean and detox after eating, service was great too
Great service and food
Really cute spot, great to get a cocktail or a glass of wine. Staff was super sweet; and kept us more than up to date on when our table would be ready. Waitress have an honest & informative breakdown of the menu. The acoustics run a bit loud if you’re trying to have an actual conversation.
Loved the place overall, staff was lovely, but i got horrible food poisoning from the wagyu tartare so please be careful
Service was slow, ok drinks.Upside down pineapple cake was good though!
Managed to get a last min table on a very rainy night and had an enjoyable meal! The menu is limited vs lartusi, more bistro style with sandwich options and some fusion items (like wings with fish sauce, delicious). The kale Caesar was filling and the breaded chicken cooked nicely. The short rib grilled cheese was also yum.Mind blowing? No. But a good option, with a nice adult drinkey vibe in the village .
The Lasagna is life changing. Just trust me
Great vibe on the weekends, and the wine that I got was really good.
I was really hoping to love it here as I’m a huge fan of l’artusi. Unfortunately a few hours after leaving lunch, I got hit with food poisoning from their Cuban sandwich. I’ve never been so sick in my entire life. Needless to say, I will not be returning and can’t recommend any one else do either.
Busy and lively bar. Great atmosphere and bar space. Great for drinks
Pros - Great ambiance with great food (ordered the arancini and Brussels sprouts/espresso martini), waiters were attentiveCons - Hard to hear the person across from me, felt like we were being pushed out (I’m sure it had to do with it being a Friday)
Awesome spot for brunch.I’ll be back for sure.
Loved this cosy small restaurant in the heart of NYC .. lovely ambience, great service and nice food
Great bartenders! A wonderful place to post up at the bar solo.
Good atmosphere, service and food.
Had lunch with a friend at 3pm and the place was bustling and busy. I liked the vibe and relaxed atmosphere. The food was very good but the menu was limited. Great cocktails and friendly staff.
Not impressed at all. Had the Chicken Milanese and Octopus. One word: Hideous.
Always love b’artusi. Excellent staff, drinks, bites and vibes.
Fantastic place for a drink. Staff is beyond friendly - shoutout to Max who was just lovely.Delicious wine selection and interesting cocktails. Beautiful interiors.
Had an AMAZING dinner at b’artusi. Everything we ordered was amazing. It’s a cool vibe. I’ve had both a brunch and dinner here and we’ve loved the food and service. Justin, our waiter, was superb.
Equally good as down the street at L’Artusi! Would come here again in a heartbeat!
Nice place. Cocktails were great, I did not try wine and food. Perfect for a date.Service was ok but I felt they were a bit too pushy for me.
Delicious Italian soul food and great service!
Amazing staff! They were so kind and went above and beyond to ensure a great experience. Food was delightful. Tapas style. And great drinks to close it out!
A varied menu. Mostly small plate/ tapas. Great brussel sprouts and breaded gnocchi.
The food is good and the space is cute, albeit incredibly loud. The original, L’Artusi, is absolutely a 5-star experience that this newer offshoot just can’t quite match. Nevertheless, enjoyable.
B’artusi opened two weeks ago and it’s lovely - warm lighting, great drink menu, attentive staff, and quiet enough that you can have a conversation. It’s the best kept secret on Hudson. Highly recommend for a first date or a night out with friends!
Just open few weeks ago. Waiters were not attending the costumers. They were standing on the side and talking to their coworkers.Lamb meatballs in tomato sauce came out of the kitchen cold & had to be send back. The only ray of light was the bartender that didnt stop making drinks and at the same time was attending to the customers that were seated at the bar.Being a regular at the parent restaurant Lartusi Ill be keeping my faith that things will change for the better.
Delicious dinner! And Max made the best drinks!! Cant wait to return.
Lasagne and plum cobbler were unbelievable. Such fresh ingredients and good food in an unpretentious environment.
Tasty twists on Italian street food.
Exquisite foods and Great service! Highly recommend 👌
Great food and drinks!
Great spot for wine and light bites!
Excellent food. Good service.
Fun atmosphere with a classy undertone. Loved the deserts too
Such a great place! Phenomenal service, and incredible food.
Love everything about this restaurant.
Just went for a pre dinner drink.
Great atmosphere, perfect service, amazing drinks, and yummy food !
Delicious as usual
I had a gr’artusi experience here
Drinks and a chat !!!!
It was okay but too expensive for what it is tbh
Good place
Warm
