An obvious 5 stars for this restaurant. The pastrami is out of this world - you ought to try it.There are tables reserved for customers, and they have sauces readily available on the table. There is also a drinking water dispenser.I’ll be back. Reasonable prices, great food!

I must say I was very pleased with the food here! (Located in the bottom floor). I ordered a whole chicken with fries. The chicken was very tasty (the breast a tiny bit dry, but still very good). The fries were also crispy! They have free water and friendly staff.A little addition: I actually enjoyed the music there a lot ;))

No word to explain how perfect they are. There is bar for drinks. Recommend to try when you’re going to visit Chelsea market in New York.

This is one of the vendors we stopped at during our visit to Chelsea Market, and I’m so glad we came here! Their meat is truly a level above most places. The 8 oz butcher’s cut with chimichurri was so flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Loved the smash burger, and the hot dog was fantastic too! We had it topped with bacon and onions, and it was so delicious. They’re even doing complimentary pretzels for Oktoberfest, which I thought was so nice! The butcher counter was impressive, and my fiancé and I said we should’ve brought a cooler to bring meat back home with us to CT! I would definitely come by again if I make a future visit to Chelsea Market.

This review is strictly for the Dickson’s “house-made hotdog” that i got ~last week…* the butcher shop is quite excellent. Dickson’s is located in the basement of Chelsea Market. they have a large space which is dedicated to the butcher aspect as well as a kitchen that does prepared foods. there’s a nice amount of seating to sit down and eat the prepared eats on the spot. it is very clean and well-maintained.anyway, did some late lunching at Chelsea Market and decided to get the Dickson’s house-made hotdog as it gets/got a lot of praise for being a top ‘dog in NYC. the hotdog is sourced locally from farms in NYC and the animals used are ethically and humanely raised etc, so you are getting a clean hotdog free of chemicals, etc.the hotdog is a large beef + pork Coney Island inspired dog. ordered it with raw onions (a generous amount given) and added Gulden’s mustard. after one bite, however, this ‘dog was not what I wanted. don’t get me wrong it looked great and came hot off the grill. but, there was NO “snap” from the casing when i bit into it and I find that is one signature of a high-quality hotdog. it was well-grilled and had some char. however, the inside had this mushy/chewy texture. my guess it was over-cooked/smoked when the hotdog was initially made so the grilling didn’t help. the flavors were kinda lost in that weird texture, but was passable and sorta became like any old below-average hotdog. meh. this hotdog ain’t cheap at $7 + tax + tip.the staff is super nice and it’s evident they work hard bc everything else is great at Dicksons. and tbh, if this was any other place i would have one- or two-starred it but i’d chalk this off to an off day and not reflective of the overall fine butcher service that Dickson’s provides.

If you can avoid all of the tempting food options along the way of entering via the main entrance, Dickson’s is well worth the extra few metres walk to the downstair food hall. The chicken and steaks are cooked to perfection, simple to order, well priced and with a well balanced set of ingredients.Another superb food offering inside Chelsea Market.

Despite visiting Chelsea Market since 2011, Id never known about their lower level until this year, because Id never needed to use the restroom in the building until May 2024. Dicksons excels in at least two American staple meats: rotisserie chicken & frankfurter. They both might be a little too lean for seemingly average American tastes, but thats never a bad thing. Will try to be back!

I have been here a couple of times. Food is perfect, cider is awesome. This weekend we asked to buy a whole sausage of Fuet. The seller kindly assisted us. Today we tried it, and it tastes nothing like Spanish Fuet nor does it smell like one. It’s just some salami. We don’t like regular salami taste at all, so that’s very unfortunate to throw $30 in trash. I should’ve asked for sample to try before excitedly buying so much (excitedly since it’s hard to find in stores). My bad. But I feel that I should leave this review for you guys to reconsider where you get your Fuet from. Thanks!

The hot dog just tastes like a Costco hot dog with some snap. $6 extra for a little bit of snap is insane. Someone else had a review about the dog being dry and leathery, and I couldnt agree more. Might be the most overrated place Ive ever seenPlus, paying for basic condiments like relish and saurkraut is insane.Edit: Yes, I would pay 5 times less for a Costco dog once in a blue moon over this. The flavor was very underwhelming given all the raving in the reviews. This is an opinion shared by others that accompanied me here. If you like good food, it smells like absolute heaven. The mix between the meats, the rotisserie chickens, and everything else cooking is just glorious.I went with a Spicy Italian sandwich, and even though their entire menu looks great, this sandwich was so tasty that I think Ill get the same thing again next visit. The sandwich had ham, capocollo, salami, cheddar, onions, and chilies pressed on a ciabatta. It was cooked just right, crispy, and packed a massive amount of flavor.Other than that, they have a huge amount of meats, sandwiches, sides, rotisserie chicken, and house-made hot dogs. Aside from farmers markets, this is my go-to butcher for carefully tended meats. Everything Ive had here is first rate, butchered expertly (unlike some of the farmers market stands). All the meat is labeled with where it came from, which is not far away. They arent going to wheel out a carcass to do your chops like Florence does, but they have a surprisingly wide range of cuts to choose from. Mostly Ill get various cuts of beef, whole chickens, sausage, and their duck confit (way better than citarellas). Stuff is expensive but not excessively so for what it is (and still cheaper than going out!), and the staff gives great advice for cooking, and is always delighted to hear how stuff turned out. These house made hot dogs were made with love and the person preparing them was great - he chopped up all toppings fresh and asked us if we were ready to have the best hot dog ever! These were snappy, juicy, and super flavorful. I’m usually not a mayo fan on hot dogs, but the kewpie Mayo really paired well as a topping.

Extremely overpriced... according to them a giant portion of ribs for 1 person = 4.... 4 ribs for $20....... $7 for a tiny hotdog oh and any toppings is extra. Just terrible business

Just wow. I visited Dicksons twice during my stay in New York. Both times the food was outstanding! The pulled pork sandwich is very good. So is the steak sandwich. My personal favorite, however, is the Pastrami Sandwich. I have never had such a delicious sandwich before! I highly recommend a visit to Dicksons. The store is located in the basement of Chelsea Market.

I have experienced amazing thing on today. There was tattoo girl who is a worker of there. She was a only worker to do something for me, others are busy. But she didn’t look at me, even I say to her, and I had said two or three times but she had ignored me, and I had hand up , then she had seen me then. And When I had paid, she had said the price, but I want to be sure how much it is, So I had asked again, but she had not answered, and I said “halloo” then she told me the price, but at last, she had thrown out coins to my hands, and coins had gone out from my hands, but she had put coins again, and she again threw to my hands coins. That was biggest rude what I have seen in NYC. She was like a crazy person.

Visiting Dicksons Farmstead Meats in Chelsea Market turned out to be an absolute delight for our taste buds. Our order was a delicious dive into comfort food heaven, perfectly capturing the essence of what makes this place special. The kids cheeseburgers were a hit, served plain just the way they like, yet bursting with flavor, proving that sometimes simplicity reigns supreme. The brisket sandwich was a masterpiece of tenderness and taste, each bite more savory than the last, showcasing the quality of farmstead meats. The regular hot dog, also ordered plain, was a classic done right, juicy and satisfying. The sides were no less impressive. The French fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the kind you cant stop nibbling on. The cup of chili was hearty and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice to warm you up. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and comforting, exactly what youd hope for in this classic dish.Every item we ordered from Dicksons Farmstead Meats was a testament to their commitment to quality and flavor. Dining here is not just about eating; its about experiencing the care and craftsmanship that goes into each dish. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic, satisfying meal in Chelsea Market.

Went for an afternoon visit to Chelsea Market with the family and as a hot dog guy, had to stop by Dicksons. The smell of everything made my mouth water and their pork/beef hot dog topped with good old fashioned sauerkraut and deli mustard certainly did not disappoint. Great snap from the casing, flavorful spices and seasoning, and loved the potato bun 😋 now I cant wait to try the rest of the menu!

Kitchen staff ( prep, line, saute, grill, fry) you have one job. Cook good food, period, full stop. The cashier took my order and money. Their job well done just like this tasteless, dry brisket. I am a firm believer if the meat needs sauce ESPECIALLY brisket you done fd up. I am ignoring the price its NYC and Chelsea Market. But what I cannot ignore, I was extremely hungry so I suffered through 2 pieces of the 4 I got, that other than making my stomach stop grumbling it was horrid. Food is love and if you dont love it or doing your job please for the love of God... Do something, anything else.

Hello, Again,Thank you for responding, and for the information about the rotisserie chickens. I appreciate your kind tone, and will write in a separate email.Ive changed my stars to reflect your attentiveness, and of course, the quality of Dicksons offerings is beyond doubt.hello, Ive been coming here for many years, since the opening, and for many years Ive taken advantage of the thanksgiving early bird special, which, if I understand correctly, is not offered this year. If that is true, the change has been made without notice or explanation, either of which would have been appreciated by loyal customers like myself. Ive noticed, too, that the rotisserie chicken has increased. I understand that everything is more expensive now, but loyalty goes both ways, as does sensitivity to those for whom that discount mattered. Finally, I wouldnt have put this note in public if an email address were available.

We ordered hot dogs here. You are charged according to the ingredients you put in it. The most basic plan includes sausage, bread, onions and mustard. We paid 6 dollars per person. The taste was not bad. The food serving area is at downstairs. The atmosphere is not bad. There are not many seats. There are many better alternatives in Chelsea Market. I do not recommend this place.
