Found this hole in the wall because of its rating. It lives up to it and should be higher. Try this place out if you love good coffee. Had a cappuccino that was tasty , bold, frothy (just enough), and cute print. Didn’t get a chance to try the smoothies or cocktails but I sat at the bar and they looked amazing. Tried the pulled pork Benedict on a slice of sourdough, the sweet pork with poached egg was an amazing combination, try it for yourself. Friendly staff and excellent service, good vibes overall.
Such a cute and aesthetic atmosphere. The food was good but also nothing special. Could go anywhere else for the same quality and probably more selection. Service was kind but very slow. They took peoples orders and served them their food before taking our orders and we sat down 20 minutes before them. We ordered the og burger, lemon pesto pasta, matcha, and flat white. Burger was great. Cooked perfectly. Lemon pesto pasta was lacking flavor. Tasted more like olive oil in pasta. No lemon or pesto flavoring at all. Drinks were great and cute as well. A good place to try but would not be a spot to continuously come back to
Accidentally walked into the restaurant because the outside was nicely decorated with a wall of greenery. Glad I did. The service was one of the friendliest Ive ever had, very casual, helpful. The food was great and so was the overall decor and atmosphere. Good spot for sure.
Went for brunch on a Saturday, got a seat after about 15 minutes, had to wait for our drinks about 15 mins (got water right after sitting down though), food came soon after. We had the Wild Mushroom Toast and the Strawberry Cheesecake Waffles. The mushrooms didn’t necessarily seem wild, but both dishes were absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back.
Came in last night, we ordered a drink and a burger. Drinks were good, burgers were good even though I was missing an item on there and didnt ask to custom my order. We also never saw the waitress again after our food was dropped off so we couldnt order another drink nor order dessert. I still left a nice tip but I dont think it was deserved. I understand tips are the way servers make money but it felt like it was a counter service and not a seating restaurant.
Perfect Breakfast Spot – Don’t Miss It!Hole in the Wall is a true gem in Manhattan! The pulled pork toast and avocado toast were simply delicious, and the espresso martini was a delightful touch. The vibes here are unbeatable, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Can’t think of a better way to start the day – highly recommended!
Well, first of all, the music playing when we had lunch there was excellent, so I hope Hole in the Wall sees this and sends me the playlist. The burger was also very good and the fry portion generous. Would come again!
Cappuccino was okay , I love a good coffee but this was a bit too strong.I had the Brekkie roll and it was good!Fries were cold when the food came out but I spoke to the bartender and he got us fresh fries immediately.Alberto was our server and he was really friendly and apologized for the inconvenience.Loved the outdoor seating.
I love Aussie cafes. I grew up with them. But I have no idea how this place got a 4.6. My only explanation is it’s preying on unsuspecting tourists that don’t know any better. The impression I got was the server was dreaming of being someplace else (Australia? Maybe that’s the connection?). Stood around waiting to get a table for what felt like ages; he was unenthused about taking my order and left the water glasses on the table empty the entire time. The food and the coffee came out quickly. The coffee was average and I didn’t finish it. The kimchi scramble fine but nothing to write home about.Eventually someone emerged and I asked for the check. I was directed to a QR code that didn’t work, which pretty accurately summed up the entire experience. For $30+ this was a disappointing experience.
Food was great. Atmosphere is nice. Very modern space. Bathroom is attached to the hotel next door, down a long service corridor. Overall good 👍
Walked in on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The open sandwiches were good, especially the mushroom avocado dish. Two coffees, two entrees for $65 including tax and tip.
No AC and warm beer on a summers day. Service was likely understaffed based on slow turnaround times and missing items. While the chicken sandwich was dry, folks did enjoy the coffee, cappuccino, wild mushroom toast, and smoked salmon toast.
Very cute space. Much bigger than it looks from the outside. Visited around 10:30 on a Friday as a single diner and was seated immediately. However my very simple order (or just a breakfast burrito) took almost 40 minutes to come out after ordering. So long I was just about to get up and leave to go somewhere else when it finally came out. After that long wait, the fries were the best part. The burrito itself was merely adequate and tasted like it lacked any seasoning aside from the small spread of chimichurri sauce.
Food and interior were great! I had been here once before but sat outside. I did not know what great ambience I was missing out on. We were walk ins and were seated after 10-15 min of waiting. It was a Saturday morning so it was busy and so the service was understandably slow. I highly recommend the brekkie smoothie and the avocado toast. Portions were a bit small and the prices were a bit high. Spent $75 for two (not including tip) and still was not full. Would recommend and I want to come back.
Loved the kimchi scrambled eggs on sourdough as well as the pasta a la vodka. Cute place with good service. Alex was attentive and professional. Elderberry iced tea was yummy. Would recommend and will visit again.
Wow, the food came out immediately (literally feel like in a few seconds) and was super tasty! I loved my avocado toast!
Everyone was so accommodating despite being very busy. The food was delicious. I needed to know if the feta cheese in my Power Bowl was pasteurized, and I couldn’t find my waiter right away, and I was so grateful when a seating hostess saw me looking around, asked what I needed and then personally ventured into the kitchen for me to find out that the cheese is in fact, pasteurized ha ha. In addition, the food is amazing, super clean, fresh, and well prepared! Great spot, love this place. Yummy mocktails too!
We had lunch here the other day. The restaurant is attached to a hotel lobby, which gives a bit of a strange vibe, to me, small hotel lobby that felt more like a hostel. The hostess was inattentive and quite distracted when we entered. The first person who came to our table wasnt friendly or pleasant; the second person was more pleasant and helpful and kind. The restaurant smelled like cigarette smoke, at least to us, since we were seated by the door, even though the back of the restaurant was free. Perhaps this was because we didnt have a reservation. The food was good, above average, I would say. They did not have decaf lattes, and the bathrooms were poorly maintained. Overall, I will not return to this place. But it is a good choice for food, if other better options arent available.
Hole in The Wall is a busy, cute, casual spot for a laid back brunch. The menu offers some nice options. The mushroom toast with poached egg is tasty, but had been sitting waiting for the other orders as it wasn’t very hot. The breakfast burrito is decent, and the best part were the accompanying fries which were hot and crisp. The spicy vodka rigatoni with shrimp is an unconventional brunch choice, and the sauce was creamy and rich with a bit of a kick. This was our favorite of the three items ordered.
Great experience at Hole in the Wall today. Excellent spot for lunch . Our food was fresh and tasty. Our waiter , TJ , was helpful and provided terrific service.
This was the BEST latte I found during my entire time in the States (I’m Australian, so my standards are high). I had a lovely breakfast here, served by some of the friendliest staff I’d come across in NYC. Prices were reasonable, really laid back casual cafe/bar.
The vibe is super chill, and the staff is friendly. The food is fantastic—definitely try their brunch menu. Plus, the coffee hits the spot. It’s the perfect spot for a relaxed meal with friends. Can’t wait to come back!
They dont take reservations for brunch, and we walked into an extremely packed place for a Sunday brunch at 12:40 pm and were lucky to be seated in a comfortable table for 6 towards the backend of the restaurant. They have really good outdoor (covered) seating as well with enough heat lamps installed on the ceiling. Noise level was average and you are welcomed by a very friendly staff. We ordered some hot beverages for the table and it felt like they were severely understaffed because the service was extremely slow. It took close to 20 minutes for us to get our coffees and tea, and another 40 minutes to get our main courses which included an Impossibly Good Burger ($19), Wild Mushroom Toast ($19), Chili Scrambled Eggs with Avocado ($21), and Pulled Pork Benedict with Bacon ($21).My impossibly good burger was actually quite good and the impossible patty was seasoned well and had a nice layer of melted pepper jack cheese on it. It also comes with fries and I got the sweet potato fries instead of regular fries at no extra cost - slightly heavily salted. The only thing I did not particularly enjoy was the onions, tomatoes, and lattice were cold. There were some issues with the food, but the staff was kind enough to take off that specific item from our check, for which I specifically give an extra star! Very rare to see in these CV-19 days! While the staff is friendly and were apologetic for the delay in service, service was quite slow. We waited for over half an hour for our beverage and food orders. Having said that - the food overall was quite delicious and we might definitely give them another try at their other locations!
We were looking for just the right spot for our small family near our hotel. This has the ambience we were looking for, and filled the kids after a long day of touring! The burger and chicken parmesan were each amazingly cooked and flavored. So glad we found this hole in the wall!
I love coming back here! The food is always incredible. Coffee is delicious, and staff is lovely!
This morning, my family and I (a group of four) visited Hole in the Wall, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. While I cannot comment on the food, it was evident that the cafe was understaffed, which may have contributed to the issues we encountered.Upon arrival, we had to wait outside despite several empty tables being visible. Once seated, we noticed that the chairs, which were upholstered with fabric, had many visible stains and appeared quite dirty, which was off-putting. The environment was also uncomfortably cold. Although there were heaters, they were insufficient, and many other customers, like us, kept their coats on.The service was particularly challenging. We waited 5 to 10 minutes in the queue to be seated, then an additional 15 to 20 minutes at the table without anyone offering drinks or taking our order. Eventually, I stood up to look for a waiter but couldn’t find anyone. After returning to our table and waiting further, I flagged down a staff member to request assistance, but still, no one came. After waiting another 5 minutes, we decided to leave. Disappointingly, the second waiter we encountered as we exited didn’t acknowledge us or try to address the situation. Thankfully, there are plenty of other cafes and restaurants in the area.I hope this was a one-off incident due to staffing challenges, as Hole in the Wall seemed to have potential otherwise.
Fun restaurant, awesome service and food! Chicken sando was great.
We went to Hole In The Wall for dinner recently and had a mixed experience. What we liked:Really nice atmosphere & outdoor seating area.Excellent French fries.I really liked their house beer! Only $5 too.Thick cut bacon on the burger.Service was good.Good aioli (came with the appetizer)What we didnt like:-Salt and Pepper squid wasnt fresh -- were pretty sure that it was under a heating lamp or something for a while. It was also super dry and chewy...you can even see it in the picture. The bowl also looked to be about half full.-I asked for the skirt steak to be cooked medium, it was pretty rare. It also came out room temp but was still tender.-My girlfriend asked for the burger well done -- it was more medium. Her and I disagree on how a burger should be cooked but I digress...-We both found the entrees to be underwhelming overall.Prices are typical NYC (read: expensive).
Good vibes and good food! We felt welcome from the moment we walked in the door. They were great with our severe allergy restrictions and beyond friendly. Food was phenomenal. Shout out to TJ for his patience with my allergies and knowledge of everything on the menu.
Came for brunch! Not amazing but solid. Good fries.
Excellent avocado toast; it had a zest of citrus flavor. Add the poached eggs and you are in for a delightful brunch. Breakfast should not be this expensive though.
Really great spot for brunch. Nice outdoor dining area and great vibe inside too. Good music, friendly service, and super convenient pay at the table option.
This is my second time visiting hole in the wall, except this time we tried to the one at the Hotel Henri.I must say, its outdoor area and the ambience was perfect. I dont know of many Australian cafés in the city and this one is very good. We ordered the chicken wings, burrata salad, OG beef burger, and shrimp pappardelle. The chicken wings were very good we devoured them instantly. The burrata salad is slightly different than the average burrata you get at any Italian restaurant. Still very tasty & creamy, but it comes with baby peas, edamame, mint, shaved zucchini, parmesan, and salsa verde. The OG Beef burger was nice and juicy. And lastly, the shrimp pappardelle was my favorite! I love shrimp, I love crab, I love pappardelle pasta so I absolutely loved it! I enjoyed my expresso martini very much as well!Oh, and the waitresses were super friendly and attentive! Thanks so much again!
Average food on the more expensive side. The really good thing for brunch was their waffles. Super sweet and delicious. Would definitely order that again.Everything else did not stand out. Cute place though!
Great American food in a casual Gastropub type atmosphere. Victoria at the bar gave great service and the burger was top notch. The fries were crisp and hot. Highly recommend
Do not recommend- not worth your money or time! Ordered take-out and had to wait 20 mins past the expected order time. Only then to realize they hadnt prepared my order correctly. Brought the order back to be redone, but was met with heavy attitude from the bar staff. While waiting, customers sitting were complaining of how cold the restaurant was. To the point that they were dining with winter coats and hats on. Overall, the food was average but not worth the price. This experience was one I would definitely not recommend and will not be revisiting.
The food and service is amazing. I got the wild mushroom toast and a flat white and both were extremely good. I have a lot of dietary restrictions that was well accommodated for. Patrick and Alberto were very quick and friendly. Definitely recommend.
Amazing food and very nice people. Thank you for having us!
We had an amazing experience at this beautiful restaurant with the most tasteful food, great service thanks to TJ! They were the perfect combination of friendly and professional, consistently checking in to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. Their attentive and thoughtful service truly enhanced our visit. We’re so grateful to have had TJ as our server and can’t wait to come back!
Relaxed, comfortable eatery with exceptional food and friendly service. Perfect spot to have a lazy Saturday lunch, or grab a quick bite if you’re in a rush. Kimchi scrambled eggs on sourdough was excellent, and the flat white is top-notch. Highly recommended.
Absolutely delicious! Were only in town a few days but weve already decided to come back!
Service could have been better! The food was also average. I requested for my egg to be poached hard, and it took much longer to make. The smoothie, sandwich and fried were good though.
Food was decent but the waiter gave me wrong drink when I asked tom cooler to try he gave me coke and was insisting I ordered coke when I know for fact what I ordered. Also when I paid thru barcode I didn’t see option to tip and asked waiter , was not helpful at all for that. Seems they didn’t want tip, not like they deserve but overall bad experience
TJ was our server and he was fabulous! He was very attentive and friendly and I really enjoyed the Cesar salad. Great vibes and ambiance, I’ll definitely be back when I’m in town again!
🍽️Wild mushroom toast: whipped ricotta, spicy pomodoro, poached egg and parmesan on sourdough🍽️Pavlova waffles: vanilla ricotta, mango, strawberry, kiwi maple syrup🍽️ iced Nutella mochaAdd this to your brunch spot list. Simple yet delicious flavors. Fave was the mushroom toast the spicy pomodoro is a great touch
Nice place to visit from breakfast throughout the day for food and cocktails. We came for late breakfast. Food was good, attentive service . The only problem both espresso and cappuccino was cold. Waitress informed us that espresso maxing wasn’t working properly. Not that it’s an excuse.
The service was so slow, long hair pink top waitress didn’t care about us at all, asked twice for bills, waited ages for her to come and place order. The other one was really nice - she is the only reason I tipped.Food also really … not tasty… wonder where is the 4.6 rate comes from. Bread was cold… not even toasted. Probably the worst meal I’ve had in New York so far.
The place is good, food is tasty and good portion. The price is also reasonable. The service is great, they are attentive and friendly.Service is on time. Will come bqck for dinner.
This was the perfect spot for a late afternoon work session and dessert :) The space is beautiful and cozy with large plants and great music. Our server, Ni’esa, was wonderful and took the best care of us. Definitely looking forward to returning soon!
My most favorite breakfast spot in NYC. The spicy egg, the mushroom tost the coffee and the almond Crosson was on my top list and lip smaking. The staff is friendly and always welcomes you with a smile. Must visit.
Las entradas divinaaaas! La pasta le encantó a Mark, y la Burger... loved the appetizers and the pasta and Burger. The salad needed more dressing. The parmesano fries were awesome!
Awesome breakfast with Korean flare!! Love it.
Chain brunch place serving standard brunch fare. Food is good and service is fast. There is a wait during weekend brunch hours and they do take reservations. Ambiance is basic modern.
Nice service, strong coffee in espresso martini, pulled pork benedict was OK, but nothing special. Room needs a bit of heating and more ambiance at the front and back of the place
From the pictures online and on social media, my friends and I were really excited to try this place out. Unfortunately, my expectations were wayyyy too high. The atmosphere was nice, but the service and food were sub-par. The Caesar salad was dry and lacking dressing (which is surprising because how do you mess up a salad)? The avocado toast was flavorless as well. There are just too many other restaurants in NYC to try for me to ever come back here.
Nice place, friendly staff, good coffee and average breakfast/lunch plates.
5 stars all the way around here. Such a fun vibe in here. Service, quality of the food was great. And we went for Mother’s Day, and they served a free mimosa for all the moms that were there. Nice touch.. Look forward to coming back!
Was looking for a breakfast place close to our hotel and this one had great recommendations. When we arrived, there wasnt a wait and got sat right away towards the back of the restaurant. Our server was really nice, and she was funny when brining our drinks and there was a slight spill. We joked that we needed $0.13 taken off the bill for this and she joked back with us. Ordered coffee, espresso and mimosas along with Smoked Salmon Lox Toast & Avocado Smash with a side of bacon. Neither disappointed and were the right amount of food to not be stuffed buy satisfied. They have a pretty extensive brunch menu for weekends and if I lived closer would definitely come back to try other items....particularly the Bloody Mary.
We went for brunch here! The food was excellent and the ambience of the place was great. :)Try the Big Cheezy burger!
Absolutely surprised by this place. I love the decor of the enclosed outdoor dining area. There is a fire lamp (is that what you call it?) to keep you warm. The waitress was super friendly. We ordered the Vietnamese fried chicken sandwich, burrata salad, and pulled pork benedict. I love the bun and sauce on the chicken. The veggies gives it a hint of banh mi flavors. The chicken was a little over fried, but it was still tasty. The burrata was oh so creamy with the pesto on top. Smear it with the fresh toasted bread and it was oh so good! The edamame, peas, and apples were refreshing. Now the star of the meal was the pulled pork. The waitress mentioned that a lot of people ordered that today and I can see why. Its packed with flavors: spicy (not too spicy), sweet, salty, and the creaminess from the perfect poached eggs. It sits on top of toasted rustic bread which gives it texture to the bite. I absolutely love it. Im definitely coming back!
Amazing food , Great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and visit again !!
The ambiance, the lighting = perfection! The drinks, so good I have no words! Fly high 100% and the espresso martini OMG! The espresso was delicious! The Brussel Sprouts were amazing! The steak was easily one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The pasta meal (sp?) and blackened Cesar salad were fantastic! But what made the meal was the service. Every restaurant we’ve been to in NYC, we’ve been screamed at, bossed at, barked at…. Just lots of unnecessary aggressiveness. Julian (sp?) was such a breath of fresh air, genuine, kind, & funny! Thank you for being exactly what we needed for drinks, ambiance, food, and service ❤️
Its a cute place and the broccolini orecchiette was delicious. Service, however, was subpar. When our waiter asked what wed like to drink and one of us said she was fine with just water, he took that to mean all of us and just walked away. He returned a couple minutes later with a pitcher and set it on the table, then left again. He was unfamiliar with the wines on the menu and asked me to repeat myself three times, but still didnt know which one I was referring to, so he just put a random one in. When it arrived, it was incorrect, of course, and it cost more than the wine I asked for. I requested the one orange wine on the menu so it was clearly wrong when it arrived and it wasnt orange. He was just a bit scatterbrained and inattentive, and it bordered on rude. For the price you pay on food & beverage, tax, digital fee(s) and tip (not to mention the wait time prior to being seated), the service needs to be a bit better
Fantastic service and excellent espresso martini (subbed reposado tequila for vodka). Crispy chicken Sando (subbed with grilled chicken) and sweet potato fries were a little bland but definitely will return again to try some other items on menu.
An overall great Australian cafe for brunch/drinks in flatiron. We’ve been here numerous times (sitting both inside and outside) and they consistently deliver solid burgers, boozy brunch drinks and creative toasts.
Great brunch place with a strong menu in Chelsea. Service was not bad but too few servers for the number tables. All in all a good experience
Cute place, nice server, very glad to know about it and will be back!
Love the food there. Service is great
Amazing food and amazing service. TJ was a huge help guiding me and my table through the menu and accommodating for allergies. This restaurant was amazing and TJ definitely enhanced our experience.
Decent brunch food! I’ve been there twice on weekdays and never waited. Spicy Shrimp Vodka Rigatoni was way too spicy than I expected, although i liked it!
Clean, easy brunch place.Strongly recommend Pull Pork Benedict.Servers in this Flat Iron location are very nice.
Wonderful experience! Always good food!
The breakfast was perfect. Smokey salmon toast with eggs were delicious. They need to increase the juice varieties. Waiters were very polite. Service excellent
Wonderful breakfast spot! Love the ambiance and music choice. My favorite meal was the Kimchi Scramble! Highly recommend
You MUST get the brownie- it was absolutely delicious and my favorite part of the meal! I got the impossible burger which was pretty tasty as well (and it’s awesome they have a vegetarian option for the burger- bravo!!). The servers were also lovely and attentive- especially the Irish guy! Totally recommended :)
The food was good but you’ll eat it cold cuz it’s so cold it freezes in 2 minutes. They really have a problem with the heating. Everyone is wearing jackets and beanies inside.
Food and drinks were fantastic. Of particular note, highly recommend the lemon broccolini orecchiette and add chicken. Flavor was phenomenal. Downside - was a little cold in the restaurant. Felt like they left the door open in the kitchen
I’ve been going to Hole in the wall since they opened . Sadly this time My experience wasn’t great . I decided to go for the smoke salmon on toast and when I got It, we were shocked by how tiny it was (don’t order it if you’re thinking of feeling full by any chance). I’m sorry but for $21 you better give more than one piece of bread and egg. I also think that they have changed their coffee because their oat latte was bad in the last two times I was there . I guess I should go back to their OG location
Nice spot. Good food. The wild mushroom toast was very tasty and filling. The charge .50 extra to have your latte iced, which was a little silly to me. But overall, good service and food.
The food is good, but not exceptional—there are many similar restaurants in New York City. However, the service is a disaster. We had to remind the server about water after sitting for 10 minutes. The host at the front was also extremely rude. He seated us at a very undesirable table, and when I asked if we could switch, he refused, even though it wasn’t a busy time. When we ordered, just the two of us, we selected three dishes, including burgers. The host had the audacity to comment that we were ordering too much—not as a friendly suggestion, but in a condescending tone, as if he didn’t take us seriously because we’re women. The beef patty was undercooked, even though I specifically asked for medium. It tasted awful. But besides burger, the rest is good.Especially, Gnocchi is awesome. The waffle is a bit of cloying. In the end, I still left an 18% tip, but I wont be coming back. There are plenty of similar brunch spots in New York.
Good vibes, good service, good food, and good prices. what more do you need? Come check this place out! we decided to do brunch here before heading to the train station and it was a great choice
TJ is the BEST! He helped our party of 9 with such ease, and the food was amazing! We are defintely coming back here when we have the chance!!
Delicious food! Cozy place, staff really nice. Highly recommended ❤️
Very delicious hipster breakfast. The brunch dishes are a little expensive but very good. I can highly recommend the Brekkie Smoothie and the Nutella Mocha. The service is also pretty good, everyone is so friendly.
Such a cute little brunch place! Mimosas and Espresso martinis are a 10/10
Nice environment and nice presentation. The flavor was nice too!Went there on a Saturday noon, not too busy and the service was nice.Recommend!
Came here for dinner on a Friday and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Amazing happy hour deal and the food was delicious! Would definitely come back here!
Honestly, was disappointed. The restaurant itself looked nice and was clean. Service was mediocre. We got a water pitcher and we waited a while until we just had to ask to have it refilled. I came with my boyfriend and another friend and they put everything on one check. When asked to separate the bill, they said they couldn’t do it. Like, what?Food itself was alright. Tasted fine but definitely overpriced.
If you wanna relive a bad childhood this place is great for it, you definitely feel neglected/lied to and wait forever to be attended by one of the two kind waiters (this place is clearly understaffed). The brekkie roll was ok I guess, the bun was soggy from the delicious secret sauce — its just mayo and ketchup, nothing special, they also just give you a sad amount of eggs (such a thin layer) to remind you inflation is currently happening and really bad quality cheese. Price? Expensive for this mild experience.Atmosphere? What is this? WeWork? Why the lights so cold and white.
The cheeseburger was decent, nothing extraordinary. It had a good flavor, but nothing to write home about. However, the fries consistently shine at this location, always tasty and satisfying. Overall, while I wouldnt go out of my way to visit Hole in the Wall, the food is reliably standard. On the downside, the service was sluggish. The waiter rushed to our table before we had a chance to view the menu, then disappeared for an extended period. The atmosphere was rather dismal; we were tucked away in the far back amidst blaring music, an unpleasant echo, and a vibe reminiscent of a storage unit, complete with cheap decor. It was a stark contrast to the much nicer ambiance of the main restaurant area and front patio. It felt like we were dining in a storage facility. If youre simply seeking straightforward fare, this place might suffice.
Worst experience in NYC, there was a plastic bag inside of one of our burguers. They did not charge that burguer but they charged for the rest of the order. The server was upset because we decide not to offer a tip.
I came in for dinner and was quickly greeted and taken to a table. I ordered the fish of the day which was salmon. The menu description reads “roasted mushroom medley, herbed salad, sambal roasted garlic pangrattato”. So, half of the mushrooms were extremely chewy. There was no salad, just a very small amount of micro greens (can’t put micro greens on a plate and call it a salad). And the pangrattato (fancy way of saying breadcrumbs) was not on the plate.
You see, I dont usually love pulled pork &/or poached/soft-boiled eggs, but I was under the impression that this version of eggs benedict would have more of a garnish of an herbaceous, vegetal, & crispy/crunchy variety, as per the description on the menu. But the nice sourdough toast pulled it all together & saved my pre-work breakfast. I also really liked the Wake Me Up & F Me Up cocktail, which was like an espresso martini but w/ a tequila base. In short, Id gladly come back to this location or others, but Id order a different dish.
Went here for dinner and ate inside. The atmosphere was really nice it was well decorated and they played good music! The food wasn’t that great. We got the crispy pork appetizer which was really good but both our entrees were super underwhelming. I got the orecchiette and it was cold when it got to me and pretty flavorless.
The pulled pork Benedict and OG Burger were delicious. Our server Jessica was very attentive and friendly. She put out the extra effort to make us feel welcome by engaging in conversation. It was a great experience and awesome food. Great job!!
Arrived in the afternoon. All services are great!
Great little spot for brunch. Kick ass beers
This was an amazing place! Great food and drinks and great service. Highly recommend! ♡
Great place for breakfast. Good location close to many hotels.
Great brunch this past weekend. We had the pulled pork Benedict and the Brekki roll. The salad was a surprise - flavorful yet light and filling. We also ordered a spritz flight that we shared. Great spot to pop in while you’re in town for the weekend.
I did enjoy my pulled pork eggs benedict, but the food was just average. service was decent. the interior was very beautiful.
Awesome service and delicious breakfast. Came every morning during my stay here!
Went during brunch and it was a nice experience. Great service and food. I recommend the OG Burger
Great little place to eat. I recommend the power bowl as it was very good. I had it with grilled chicken and a poached egg, which was very good!
This place is solid for coffee and breakfast, I loved the mushroom toast and the coffee was really perfect. Will come again
Was in the area and needed brunch. Saw that this place was an option. We had two options of places to go, so glad we chose here.Nice outdoor seating. We were greeted right away. We were seated with no wait. Nice small menu, making it easier to choose what we wanted. 2 of us got the pulled pork Benedict, one got the gnocchi, i got the brekkie roll. Looking at the expression of those that got the gnocchi, this looked like it was one of the best things they ever had. The two that had the Benedict loved it. My Brekkie Roll was a full breakfast on a bun. The combination of egg, hash brown, bacon, cheese and sauce delighted the taste buds. The sweet potato fries that came with were crispy. Usually when I get this kind of fries they are mushy, not these. The flavor was the best I had tasted yet.Our server, who was from our old neck of the woods in Florida was great. He checked on us regularly and got us everything we needed in a timely manner, including our check. The prices are reasonable for the area. We would definitely recommend this as a place to go and have good food in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Definitely would go again.
This was our first time at Hole in the Wall and TJ gave us excellent service. Cant wait to visit again from Texas!
Cocktails well done. Hanger steak and hamburger were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Great service. We will be back.
Came here for breakfast on a quiet Sunday morning recently. Was able to get a seat outside, and while the view isnt anything to really look at, who cares when the weather is gorgeous! I opted for ordering the Chili Scrambled Eggs and I have to say it was very delicious (and for those worrying, it wasnt as spicy as it looked...at least to me!).
Ordered the Brekkie Sando and it had no flavor. Sent it back and got the burrito and it wasnt much better. Would not go back.
Brunch was AMAZING! The service was excellent! The food came out right away, and it was DELICIOUS. Will DEFINITELY come back!
Really good food! Great flavor and portion sizes. Stopped in for an early impromptu Pride Brunch after our morning sound check for the parade coverage, and it was the perfect place to crash and get some AC and sustinance.
Nice brunch spot! Would highly recommend the Kimchi Scramble
I enjoyed sitting in the outdoor space. The staff were really nice and the food and coffee was great!
Such a great time!!! Hunter gave amazing recs and was so friendly. Will definitely be back :))
My wife and I literally chanced upon this charming little restaurant on 24th street because a Mexican place we wanted to visit on that street didnt have dine-ins. We were starved because the only other meal we had had that day was breakfast. We entered the restaurant hoping to have an early dinner. And Boy Oh! Boy, what a dinner it was. The crisp pork in the small plates was an absolute delight. I had the OG burger that came with 2 strips of bacon. IMO the most consummate burger experience. We also tried the Shrimp Reginetti pasta which stood out because of the subtle garlic seasoning. A bottle of some fine Rosé kept us company through all this. And finally, the sticky date pudding which was the best way to finish this meal. A special mention to our server, Jose who chatted with us and served us with a smile. Looking forward to dining here more again.
I love this place! Food, ambiance, staff, coffee, its all in sync. Its one of my favorite spots for brunch in Manhattan.
Amazing food and great service!
One of my favorite brunch spots!
This place was v cute! not the most Australian of Australian places (theyd never heard of Bundaberg), but the food was delish and they had Pimms and a really good espresso martini
The entire experience was worth every minute. Great atmosphere, food taste AMAZING.... The side of waffles was just perfect, the fries were perfect, the dishes were oh so fresh and delicious.
Makes a great cortado here. Staff is friendly too.Matcha latte is proper, no added sweet syrups.
Great vibe and wonderful food!
Great ambiance and perfect for a weekend lunch. We had the burger and the egg/arugula/cheese/bacon sandwich. Both terrific as was the latter.
Went there for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We were lucky to get a table but people who came just minutes later had to wait in line for a bit. I think you can also make reservations. Do that if you don’t want to wait.
Tasty food, welcoming service, food arrived fast. Pirce is a bit steep.
Love this place, connected to Hotel Henri, if you’re here for work and need good food close by this is the best. Their waffle in the wall was fricken delicious. Flavors perfectly worked in harmony together and wasn’t overly sweet. Great service!
Absolutely delicious!!! I was afraid the brunch portions would be small but everything was actually MUCH bigger in person. Outdoor seating area is very nice and has shade as well 👍👍
Huge portion for the HITW power bowl. the sauce is quite spicy, which i didnt know before pouring the whole dish.
Loved TJ’s energy and nice personality. Made us feel welcome and gave us a shot
Food was average. I had the chicken sando, and it wasnt too bad, but a Stickys sandwich is much better for half the price. The fries were also average at best. My diet coke was horrible. It wasnt even RC cola. Absolutely disgusting. Ive had better diet coke at a strip club. Overall not that great of a place given the higher prices. Could be a 4 star place if the prices were lower. With all the great places nearby, its not worth the visit. Service was GREAT though.
Delicious food, neat environment, and great service! I had the mushroom toast.
Talk about a hearty breakfast! Rich flavor without being too much food to stomach. The Brekkie Roll is a must try if you like breakfast sandwiches.
Considering the reviews, I expected a bit more out of this place. Run down, in need of a clean, and real plants. Food wasn’t bad…. But not the 4.5 star quality I was expecting. The staff, however, are very friendly.
Super cute place for brunch! The fries are beer battered, so good! Breakfast burrito didn’t really have much chimichurri inside so we asked for extra on the outside. Very delicious.
Great service and great food
Delicious food, very sweet and kind service, drinks were amazing too!! Would come again!
Very good. Loved everything we ordered. I just always want ice water, not just water.
Insanely slow service I waited 50 minutes when they weren’t even busy for avacado toast and a waffle… when it came out both were cold as if it was sitting out for a while.
LOVEDDDD this place!! So cute!!
Nice environment and good food.
Nice brunch options with good not overly large portions. Typically get berry tea and an entree. Sweet potato fries look popular.
I ordered the Wagyu hanger steak medium rare. It looked pretty good on the outside, but the inside was undercooked and filled with gristle that made it difficult to chew. The service was also slow.
Food and coffee here were really good! I highly recommend this place!
Great food, great service! Will come back!
Tj was an awesome server! Gave great recommendations and the food was awesome!
This Aussie appreciates this business. So far my partner and I have visited three of your locations. One more to go!Its so hard to find good coffee here in NYC but you guys have knocked it out of the park every time so far.A little taste of home in the big apple!
A delight! Friendly. Everything was delicious, ambience and decor is so cute. Highly recommend
Service was terrible, there was clearly a table inside, and I asked to be sit inside because I was sick, but they let in the people that were behind me who didn’t even have a reservation have the table first.
Cute place— friendly, great service. Food was excellent.
Juicy burgers, sensational fries and a coffee brewed with beans specially blended and roasted for this restaurant. Great selection of beers. Mix this with friendly staff and choice of indoor or outdoor seating and a great time with friends is guaranteed. We loved it and will be back.
Best chicken sandwich ever. Love the place
The food is good but they could have more options in the menu, I mean, the menu is not extensive but the food is good. The service could be better, and Im not talking about people, because they are friendly and professional, what I mean is for example we didnt get plates for the croissants, or spoons for the coffee, those little details. The atmosphere is nice, inside is spacious, the only thing is that to get to the restroom is tricky because is not inside the restaurant, is in the hotel next door, you dont have to go outside, but you have to cross a couple of doors and then go downstairs. If you are in the zone, is a good option because for brunch they accept only walk-ins.
Overall food and coffee was really good; place also had good music and great service. Overall I’d give the place a solid 4.6 stars, rounded up to 5 stars of course.
Great food. I got the chicken sandwich and my friend got the cheese cake waffles. Service was a little slow. Maybe we caught them on a rough day.
Definitely worth giving a try if youre in the area! A cute trendy little spot with a good atmosphere, mouthwateringly delectable food, and amazing service. Staff was very friendly and my friend and I were greeted with a smile. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Rigatoni pasta to which I was pleasantly surprised. Food is not their only strong spot. They also have wonderful espresso! Definitely a hidden gem :)
I will definitely come back!!! My friend introduced me to this place and Im sooo happy I came!!
Great coffee and good food. I wish they had more vegetarian options.
TJs playlist was 🔥 The food was fresh and the service was great.
Perfect for brunch. Highly suggest the avocado smash toast. 🥰
They took customer experience to the next level! You can actually scan bar code and split the bill without any struggle)
Its very cold. People wear winter coats inside the restaurant. The staff says they cannot heat the restaurant.
Had fun good food. nice haha chill
Great atmosphere and food was solid. Would recommend.
So good! The sauce is spicy but tolerable!!
The food here was phenomenal. Stopped in for a workday lunch, took more time than expected but will definitely be returning. Had the Bees Knees, which was so delicious, the Grilled Chicken Sando, and a hot chocolate to go. My friend had the market salad which also looked delicious. 10/10, will be back (when I’m on less of a time crunch)
Friendly service, great coffee and hot chocolates. Coffee made to the right temperature
Place is great. Get the chicken sando. You wont regret it!!!
Its a shame as the food was great and the staff who served me during my visit were also great. However it seems that either the staff are unable to properly communicate with the manager, or the manager doesnt care. I called twice and left a note in-person with details of what happened (they charged me $11 extra for an order that shouldve been $39), but it still hasnt been resolved. The third time I spoke to someone about it, they literally told me, I dont know what to do about this.Unbelievable.
Good food, very friendly and professional service, a bit too loud (but it’s nyc so it’s ok).
Very slow service - will not be back . and that’s sad , cause coffee is good
Everything here is delicious, every time
TJ was an amazing server and DJ! He played classical symphonies and orchestra movie theme song through brunch and really set the holiday vibes up for this beautiful space! The avocado toast was delicious, and as per his recommendation, my friends and I split the strawberry cheesecake waffles as a dessert. His advice was spot on. Food atmosphere and service was a 10/10! Thanks again TJ, we’ll be back soon!
So happy.
I rarely give bad reviews for service, you never know if places are short staffed in a pinch, what the situation is that day, etc. but after about 45 minutes of waiting for water, drinks, and food, I googled some reviews. Notice that even in the 5 star ones, it mentions bad service. There are about 25 tables, and there were 2 servers and a bartender/barista. I’ve worked in the food industry, this is not an undertaking. Unless they were legit going back into the kitchen and cooking the food, I don’t understand what they were so busy doing. They turned tables over and sat everyone and then people would have to wait 30+ minutes for water to be brought to the table. It’s abundantly clear that they don’t care about service, since so many people before me have mentioned how bad it is.Now let’s get to the cocktails, when they were finally brought to us. $15 for the “Tu Bonita” which tasted like water with an hint of pineapple and had flat leaf parley in it, not cilantro. Seriously. And finally, the food. When it arrived, mine had clearly been sitting in the window for some time (again, these servers are so busy yet no one has food, water, or drinks?) so cold chicken sandwich and fries. I really think it would have been delicious if it was hot, or even warm. The pulled pork Benedict was ok. I asked for a side of miso ranch for my fries and it never came. Then we never saw our server again. Good thing I didn’t want a box…If people complain so often about bad service, one would think hiring better service would be priority #1, but I guess this is just how they operate.
Great atmosphere, delicious food and the service was top notch! Nice spot for brunch and delicious coffee
Love this place!!!
The service was amazing, the coffee there was top notch, and all the entrees were incredible. I’ve been there multiple times, trying their brunch menu, but I have to say my favorite dish is the mushroom toast. It had me nearly licking my plate, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a quick but filling meal at the beginning of the day.
On the whole, the food was pretty average! Standouts were the shrimp rigatoni and quinoa bowl. Really liked the airiness of the outdoor patio.
We had breakfast here our first morning in the city and loved it. The staff was kind and welcoming, the seating area inside is spacious and good for large families, and the food was delicious. We didn’t even have to wait more than a couple minutes to be seated. Would recommend!
Delicious! Thanks TJ!
Great mushroom toast, atmosphere and service!
Good food, excellent surface, music is a mix of loud pop and rock, it gets borderline hard to hear the conversation
Waffle was sooo good!
Great dinner on a Monday. Having worked in restaurants I know its hard to maintain a high level of service when you are too busy and when you are too slow. They were a bit slow early on this Monday but the service was really outstanding. The food was great and the portions were quite large. Bigger than we expected. Our only criticism is that it was a bit warm in the dining room, but it was an unseasonably warm day.
Nice fast casual breakfast spot in Chelsea. If you don’t want something heavy alot of their dishes are on the healthier side with some great kicks. Pictured are the chai latte, brekkie roll and kimchi egg scramble. Service was fast and super easy. Restrooms are available downstairs if needed.
Likes the atmosphereBrussel sprouts were amazingSausage roll was goodFried are amazingCaesar salad was good but too leafyyy for my taste!
Such a kind and enthusiastic waitress! The fingerling potatoes are soooo yummy. My hands didn’t reach for my friends fries because they were that good. Healthy and yummy? Yes, please. I ordered the Quinoa Bowl and it was very good. Smokey, mushrooms, and the red sauce reminded me of Asian sauces. 10/10 would go again.
Food was decent, but the service was just… no. Not only did we have to chase down our bill, they tacked on an additional 20% gratuity? And all they offered in return was an insincere apology. Entire experience was hardly worth the 20%, much less 40%.Music was good, though :)
We came for breakfast on a Friday morning around 11 and were seated right away. There are several tables outside on their large patio and more inside. We opted to sit indoors and the decor was very nice. Very cozy, bright, clean and pleasant. Definitely not a hole in the wall!We ordered the waffles (amazingly crispy and delicious), the avocado smash (very hearty) and the pork Benedict (flavorful and so good). Our server was super friendly and funny. I wish I had gotten his name, because I would have given him a shoutout. They also several espresso drinks. We had a cappuccino and it was so good that I ordered a second one. Great place with great staff!
Great food and coffee! Cute place too.
Great spot, delicious coffee and food. Good music too!
Amazing meal during our recent trip. Highly recommend truffle fries, whipped goat cheese, and spicy shrimp vodka pasta.
The food was delicious. Had happy hour 4-6 which was nice and enjoyable music playing . Very nice atmosphere and a great place to dine .
TJ was great! Good food and atmosphere .
I wouldn’t come back. Nothing special ordinary food. Coffee is ok too.
Delicious Brekkie Roll, good service, nice atmosphere both inside and out.
Everything was delicious, healthy to a point. We got lox toast and a power bowl. Now talking about recreating the bowl at home. Yum yum. Loved my Chai, I also ordered an iced coffee which was boring in comparison 👍
Loved the vibe, the food and the cocktails. We also had a great waitress who was really friendly and attentive. I had the wild mushroom toast, which was absolutely delicious. My wife had the cheesy burger and sweet potato fries, which we also super yummy. We even got a free espresso martini because the bar had made an extra one. :)
