Second time here. First time was just before the pandemic hit us hard, so Im glad to see theyre still open. Although the weather grayed out the awesome views of the East River, heliport, and water ferry pier, the fishbowl style facade allows for people and traffic watching all day. I personally prefer the banquette seating in the rear left side because of the cushions on the bench (flat butt syndrome is real). 😬😂You cant go wrong with anything on their limited menu. Theres something for everyone. Food was served hot, fresh, and delicious. Service was attentive and the place is spotless. #LocalGem #theresthatfoodie #GoodEats

A Hidden Gem near East 34th Street Ferry LandingHole in the Wall has quickly become one of my personal favorites, especially for happy hour and a great dinner before catching the ferry home. The location near the East 34th Street ferry landing is super convenient, making it the perfect spot to unwind.Today, I tried the Spritz flight—delicious! And, as always, I went with my go-to hanger steak, which was cooked to perfection (again!). The service here is always friendly and consistent, which just adds to the overall experience.Highly recommend this spot if youre looking for a great meal with fantastic service in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

The fries were great! The portion was large which I appreciate for the price. I really love this place and would recommend. Didn’t provide 5 star just yet because I had the GF bread and it was a little dry but other than that everything was spectacular. A for this place for sure!

Came for lunch as a group w a baby and pup. Service was incredibly friendly and the food was fantastic (cute and delicious). It came out quickly and everyone loved their meals! Also very appreciative of how understanding they were when I accidentally broke one of their glasses 🤦🏻‍♀️ Highly recommend!

Really great place. And remote area. Awesome outside. Wonderful when there’s a nice breeze. I love the snarky humor. The weight stuff has. It’s kind of refreshing in the world. That’s too uptight. Highly recommend this place as a regular go to.

Loved this place! Ive been meaning to come here for a while and finally stopped in. We had a great spot outside under the shade and they even brought my dog a water bowl. Super friendly service and stellar food!

Great ambience, amazing food. It infuses asian/japanese flavors in the American dishes. My favorite is Smoked Salmon Toast. It has poached egg, microgreens, cream cheese with Wasabi.

Despite being short handed in Christmas the service and food were great! Highly recommend!

Terrible. I’ve come here many times before while waiting for my Ferry and even though staff isn’t the friendliest, I dealt with it. This time I got my check and they didn’t return all of my change. When I asked where the rest of it was, the waitress just said they didn’t have any change. I wouldn’t have had a problem if they kindly would have told me instead of me having to ask them. She then said with an attitude that tip isn’t included as if she assumed I was a tourist when she herself clearly wasn’t from the states. There goes her 20% tip. Never going back.

Ive eaten here once and have been there 2 other times. One other for just a quick latte. Not a bad place, but I guess service can vary based on whos there. The whole atmosphere isnt the worst. Not bad at all so far.

I really wanted to like my meal here. I love item in the dish Spicy Shrimp Vodka Rigatoni. I will say that the pasta and the shrimp were cooked perfectly, which was a pleasant surprise, as many places tend to overcook shrimp. However, the sauce left a lot to be desired. For start, it was not the least bit spicy. I kept trying to find the spicy part, and could not. The dish is described by the restaurant as including calabrian chilies, which I doubt was in the dish, as those things pack some heat. Missing heat aside, the pasta dish itself was surprising bland, especially considering that it was pretty generously sauced.

A great place near the river and the ferry. The breakfast sandwich had a great hash brown to top it off. The mimosa was refreshing as well.

Great place for brunch/lunchWe stopped by for late breakfast and enjoyed everything, we tried Smoked Salmon toast and Mushrooms toast , it was tasty . One little thing , Both coffees espresso and cappuccino was served cold, it was delicious but temperature wise not hot enough. After making a small complaint to our server , we were informed that there was a problem with espresso machine. Otherwise everything was pretty good.

I work near this little hole in the wall by the water midtown and came by after work to check it out. Hands down the best shrimp spaghetti Ive ever had!! It had the tiniest kick of spice which paired so well with the flavored tomato sauce and fresh shrimp. For apps I had the roasted cauliflower and fries to share, and I tried impossible sausage rolls for the first time and loved it! The flaky and buttery roll it was in was delicious! Only wish they have more options for basic drink like iced tea or fresh juice. Would recommend

Absolutely loved the pulled pork Benedict and açaí bowl! Outdoor seating was great and spacious, and it’s right by FDR Drive with huge glass windows so you can see the water. Relaxed and casual spot but also good for groups!

Close to several medical facilites, parking and ferry - right off the water with large windows and decent view. I stopped for a latte. It was great and price was as expected. I sat at the bar. No one rushed me, service was friendly too.

A great little eatery right across the street from the 35th Street Ferry terminal. Had a delicious burger with blue cheese and bacon. The best bacon strips I have ever had..perfectly cooked...thick and tasty. Atmosphere is really nice with tall ceilings and expansive views of the East River. Would definitely return.

I enjoyed having brunch there, the menu options were great - had a mushroom toast but the mushrooms were cold (otherwise it was delicious); the bacon was so-so. That being said - I loved the place and the staff.

Been going here since the opening used to have an amazing staff and management now the service is lackluster . The manager is not the friendliest, they barely greet you when you walk in you can be sitting for over 20 mins before someone attends to you . Floor is dated can be cleaned properly, playing with dogs then touching food not sanitary over all this place went from amazing to not amazing.

I went in to grab a quick drink while waiting for the ferry. I ordered a drink, but after 20 minutes, everyone else had their food and drinks while I still hadnt received mine. I went inside and told the waiter, but he just looked at me and pointed at the bartender without saying anything. It was an awful first experience. There was no apology or any indication that they were working on it. The waiter walked past me multiple times without giving me an update or checking with the bar. So, I walked out. You cant work in customer service and behave like that. Let me also mention that the bar was empty, and the restaurant was pretty empty too.

It’s convenient when you live in the building- figured I’d order some fries after a run. They ended up in a bin. Dry, greasy and cold. Tasted like yesterdays leftover fries. 3 stars for great customer service, but I’m definitely not coming back for the food.

Took the ferry from the Bronx and it landed us at 34th stop/dock which is right across the street from this bar. Unfortunately they don’t do food after 8pm when we got there but the place was beautiful & the staff was very nice. I definitely want to come back during the day.

Fantastic spot overlooking the water! I had the avocado toast, mushroom toast and an expresso martini, all of which were delicious! The venue is immaculately clean with wonderful energy! The staff was also so sweet and attentive. My server Jordy saw to all my needs and I had the pleasure of quickly chatting with the manager, I believe her name was Kaitlyn, who was delightful! I cannot recommend enough!

Wanted to give it a straight 5 but couldnt.What a pleasant surprise to have come across this place just blocks away from my home. Trulky the type of place I like on a weekend or evening. Love the glass walls and organic feel to it. Staff were excellent & attentive. The drinks were exceptional but maybe needed a tiny be more alcohol. The food was really good & tasty. Yet my pork toast was on the cold side, which was a shame because the flavors were great. The pork just needed to be warm and crispy. Also, there were no dessert options on the brunch menu. Please add something. Waffles do not cut it. Other than that, I will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the brunch menu, and for sure, its the dinner menu as well.

The food is awful. How do you manage to ruin a burger?They put waxy cheese on top of caramelized onions and the most acidic pickles Ive ever tasted. And then they have the audacity to put bacon on there too, as if the burger doesnt already fall apart in your hands as is.The fries were sharply acidic too! What seasoning are yall using??Your hot cocoa game is lukewarm too.Not worth the money $75 for 2 ppl? Wild.

The mushroom toast used to be my favorite brunch EVER, like of any restaurant. I am so so sad they changed the recipe. Please switch it back to the pesto in this pic, not tomato! 🥹 Their oat milk lattes are amazing.

As a frequent ferry rider to Long Island City, I’ve always enjoyed this spot for a drink and a bite. Unfortunately, my visit today left me feeling disappointed. Six of us stopped by for post-work drinks, and I made sure to request a separate bill for takeout food. To my surprise, I was charged a 20% mandatory tip on the takeout, which was never disclosed. Unaware of this, I also left a 5% tip on the takeout, bringing the total tip to 25%! This was on top of the 20% tip our group left for the drinks. When I raised the issue, I was met with a shrug. I can handle a bit of New York attitude, but being deceived like this feels not only frustrating but also dishonest.

Great atmosphere and very kind service. Unfortunately, something in the kitchen doesnt work just fine, there is no consistency with the quality or the ingredients they use. Sometimes the food taste great sometimes not.

Extremely disappointing. We walked out after we asked to be moved to another table because we had been seated next to some loud-talking women. Were told there were no other tables available even though there was an entire row of tables next to the window. The waitress said this is a restaurant, we cant ask people to talk quietly. Well, then move us to another table dimwit! The place is run by people who dont know anything about the hospitality business. I spoke to the manager with the red wool cap and basically she just stood there and said nothing. Theres no reason two customers should be allowed to walk out of a restaurant that has a dozen+ empty tables. The people in charge are unprofessional and need some training. Very nasty experience.

Took ~40 minutes to get our food to find out it was all cold. After saying something, they took it back and finally we received it at a reasonable temperature with an item missing. At this point, we didn’t want to say anything so we just accepted it. After taking our plates, it took them ~15 minutes to finally get around to our table so we could check out (credit card left on the table in plain sight to signal we were ready to leave and restaurant not too busy). After removing the item we never received, no discount was provided. Food was a 6/10 but overall service & experience was pretty sub-par. Wouldn’t recommend.

Garbage. Food was cold and overpriced. There were random fleas everywhere as well. Asked for no bacon, my food still came with a piece of bacon. I mentioned it to the server and she laughs and says “I can’t do anything about that what do you want me to do?” Not an ounce of remorse or even a quick I’m sorry. She literally laughed in my face immediately. Living in the Copper you’d think the cafe connected to it would be better or at least held to some standard but this is probably the worst server I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with in any restaurant. Disgusted.

I wish I could have tried their food but it never came! 1 hr had already passed when another customer started asking where her food was and that it had been 1.5 hours since she ordered (they hadn’t started), so I asked the server to check the eta of our food. He came back and told us “Sorry, we’re having changes in our kitchen. The food hasn’t been started yet. We don’t know when they’ll be able to start.” And it what was for their mushroom toast! How hard is that to put together? Horrible customer service. We left because we had arrangements later that day and didn’t want to wait another hr for the food. Hopefully they fixed this issue. Food was coming out super slow that day for others. Servers weren’t even going to let us know had we not asked.

Hole in the Wall is an excellent little hidden gem in Murray Hill near the hospitals. Coffee is fantastic, food is creative and terrific and the service rocks. Definitely will keep coming back.

My two friends and I were very excited about this brunch spot because we had heard the food was great. We sat down at 10:00 AM and together ordered 4 full meals and 3 coffees. The food tasted good, but nothing special and pricey for what it was. We finished eating by 11:05 and brought out our laptops to do a little bit of work. About 5 minutes later, my friend ordered another coffee—totaling 4 meals and 4 coffees between 3 people. At 11:25, the hostess came up to us asking us to order more or to leave… we were extremely confused. We’d seen people doing work at other tables and our friend had just ordered a whole other coffee that she had taken one sip of by that point. I asked her if there was a schedule and she said it was expected for patrons to order every hour to 1.5 hours. Again, we had just finished our meals of over $100 exactly 20 minutes ago and we had just ordered more coffee. I told her we were waiting for our friend to finish her second order of coffee which had just come out. She became extremely rude and essentially told us we just had to leave and she needed the table. While I understand a brunch spot is hoping to continue serving food and making money all day, the way the business chose to go about it was simply too rude, especially given how much we we had ordered and how quickly they aimed to kick us out. It was just bad customer service and I wouldn’t recommend supporting that behavior by giving them more business.

The place itself is beautiful, reasonable prices, nice interior and terrace (although some might argue as there is frequent road next to it).Unfortunately we came during peak hours and could not be seated and asked for takeaway drinks. While waiting we found a place and we have asked politely the waiter if he started preparing the drinks. As the answer was negative we asked for coffee in regular cups, not paper ones but he refused 🤷‍♂️ the price is the same, so I dont know what the problem was. Nevertheless, I recommend it 😊

We walked in for a Saturday morning brunch and were seated almost immediately.The food:Coffees- Iced(with pistachio milk), Latte and Cappuccino. I personally enjoyed the iced coffee although I was keen on trying the Aussie Iced Coffee which was unavailable at the time. The food was great and the gluten free roll for the Brekkie was just perfect. The servers seemed a bit rushed and served the Mushroom Toast with the poached egg despite our specific request to avoid it. A little on the pricey side but the meal was hearty and filling.

Seriously the best breakfast I’ve ever had. Service was also incredible and fast. 100% would recommend to anyone who is looking for delicious, clean, and fresh food!!

It was a group of us and the burgers kept coming one at a time w delays in between. Non of the orders came out correct. It was either missing something or had an extra. I ordered medium and it was well done. After all the hype I’ve heard about this place I had to say I was disappointed

**ONLY REGARDING COFFEE TAKEN TO GO**I go here for brunch every now and then and the women who serve me are amazing. Food is 10/10However, I went twice for coffee to go while waiting for the ferry and it’s been such a stark difference in experience. The men who tend to the espresso bar hardly greet me and I’m left standing at the register. I get that they can get swamped with tickets such as making a smoothie or pouring some wine since I also work at an Australian coffee and food establishment as a barista. But to be left standing there without any acknowledgement is interesting to say the leastOrdered a cortado and it was brought out very fast. I stood there longer waiting to be helped! Unsurprisingly the espresso wasn’t even good. Sour with an unpleasant after taste. 2/5, espresso needs a mid-day redial

This place is super cute and random from the outside. We picked a table outside per the waiter request. 1st Noone cleaned our table and I had to use a wipe from my bag to clean the table covered on food particles and dust. Second there was 4 of us and the waiter refused to give us more than one menu. Then when the food arrived salad was wilted and brown, a drop of dressing, the pulled pork was sloppy and the waiter gave us only 2 forks like the other two people at our table were invisible. Bottom line, go here for coffee, drinks or a smoothie and youll be fine, go here for food and youre just wasting your money and your time. Also the wait staff especially the men have zero concept of clean food service. Major disappointment especially because it looks cute on the outside.

Really cute vibe and nice service. They let you linger which is great. Coffee was yummy. The meals are tasty too — only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars is it’s a bit pricey for what you get and they didn’t check our vaccine status which they should’ve done. But all in all a good experience!

I was recently in New York as my husband was in the hospital at Langone. I stumbled across this restaurant for a much needed glass of wine while my husband was in surgery. And had the pleasure of meeting I believe the bartenders name was Lisa. The kind blond bartender served me a glass of wine and one to go after I told her about my day. She also wrote down on a piece of paper the other restaurants location in case I wanted to get away for a bit and take the ferry. I don’t think she will ever realize how much I needed and appreciated her kindness in that moment. I keep the piece of paper in my wallet as a reminder of that day and that the kindness of strangers is still alive and well. Great new (as of Sep 2019) coffee and food option for the area. Definitely part of the new wave of Australians hitting the NYC scene with good baristas, high quality coffee, and delicious brunch options (avo toast was great). There also seems to be lunch and dinner options, plus a full bar. Coopers on tap.The industrial looking interior has been softened with some beautiful hanging plants and wood furnishings.

I had a very bad experience today. I ordered a coffee, an orange juice and a hot chocolate, while working on my laptop. When suddenly the waitress came to me and asked if I wouldn’t mind move to the bar because clients were waiting and I had to free the table.I was so disappointed that I immediately asked for the check. I found it a very rude manner to treat clients. The service is very bad and arrogant. I will definitely never go back to this place, neither do I recommend it to someone.

I wanted to show love, I wanted to support - but I cannot.I live on 35th st a block away, and I love the location + the space … but nothing else. There was a time recently when we went there to sit outside as it backs onto a great outdoor space of a building next door - but they umm’d and aah’d even though the place wasn’t busy & made it feel so awkward we decided to go elsewhere. There was another time when it was supposed to be open later than it is now - and after getting delayed on a ferry route we thought it would be the ideal later evening dinner option - but they had closed early.Then this weekend took the biscuit (I wish we had!) … ordered 2 mains & a side of brussells - and as the order was en route they called to let me know that the 2 mains weren’t available so they only sent the brussells. Seriously. Why would I want 1 side & no main dishes? And would I really pay for delivery of that? Have a think.So now it’s prime time Saturday evening & we have to start again - ruining our night, as we didn’t get food until after 9pm.I know there are much bigger problems in the world and we are privileged, but pls don’t go ruining my evening cos you’re so desperate or stupid.This place is for folks who are first time off the ferry. Enjoy.

Do they got a better business bureau in Manhattan? They need to visit this place. They got quite the scam going on. I relax at the water front and buy my coffee there. Well 9 out of 10 time without exaggerating the conveniently never have coins. I buy 10 cups they get one free. No its not a joke they actively rob people your place is doing business and even private parties but you steal change? Also theres a very uppity woman who looks down on everyone. Enjoy being robbed

As a Brit in nyc Yayyyyy sausage rolls! Best comfort food- it’s 3 for $15 disguised as an Asian sausage appetizer but they’re sausage rolls alright. And they never judge me for just having those w a cuppa before getting on a ferry.Best comfort food ever.

Probably one of the worst brunch restaurants I’ve been to in the city. The pastries we ordered were and served straight from the fridge. Much of the food was served cold and was tasteless or just tasted no very fresh.

Coffee was amazing. Im a Nyer and usually all the coffee here in the city is good because of our water. However, the coffee here is even more special because the blend they use is very unique which makes their coffee exceptional. I stayed longer because the view was nice to just people watch as people got on and off the water ferry. Later, for dinner I had their brussel sprouts and Shrimp Vodka Sauce Rigatoni paired with the Barbara red wine which were also all good.

Staff seemed grumpy when we wanted to get coffee and a snack to go. Only croissants are available for baked good options. Flat white was sour. Space looked nice.

Service was awful. They charge 20% gratuity for groups of 6 people or more, so they didnt even bother to try to give a decent service. We ordered a croissant 4 times until we just gave up. Coffees took 20 minutes to be served.

Food was delicious , clean and nice atmosphere!

Back patio is great breakfast spot with friendly staff, good eats and drinks, and view of East River, Roosevelt Island, and launch pad for the fast ferry.

Attractive layout, good coffee and a solid meal. I enjoyed my smoked salmon breakfast and loved the light pouring in from the class facade of the restaurant.

You GOTTA try their peanut butter espresso smoothie. And yes that is pulled pork egg Benedict.Dug the vibe as well. Theres outdoor seating but you can also chill inside, it appeared many ppl were working on laptops sipping coffee so you can probably hangout.Definitely coming back

I ordered Pull Pork Benedict. It came with too much grease oil that could make anyone has a heart burn. Cappucino was OK.

Everything here was perfect, food, drinks, coffee (recommend the chai latte).

Brought my fam here who was visiting from out of town and we really enjoyed their brunch! It’s a beautiful location and the staff was super nice. 10/10 would recommend

I recently dined at Hole in the Wall @ Murray Hill, and it was one of the most horrifying dining experiences Ive ever had. From the moment I walked in, I noticed a lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. The worst part was seeing rats running around the dining area, which is completely unacceptable.The food was equally appalling. Not only was it unappetizing, but it was also filthy. It was evident that no care or hygiene standards were maintained in the kitchen. I couldnt bring myself to eat more than a few bites before deciding it was too risky.To make matters worse, the servers were utterly unfocused and inattentive. They seemed more interested in chatting with each other than attending to the customers. It took an eternity to get any service, and when we did, it was lackluster at best.I strongly advise anyone considering dining here to think twice. This place is a health hazard and a complete disappointment in every aspect. Avoid Hole in the wall @ Murray Hill at all costs. We will definitely be reporting to the health inspecting department.

Cool and quiet place. They have a cafe menu not a proper restaurant menu. We ordered burger and OG burger. Patties were a little over cooked but tasted fine. I’ll come here for brunch and a cup of coffee for the next time. Recommended!
