Went here for lunch with a few work colleagues and we were seated right away at 12:30 pm on a weekday. The place was relatively busy a noise levels were quite low.It was the 4 of us, and I ordered the Insalata Mista ($19) with Shredded Rotisserie Cascun Farms Chicken (+$8). I think $27 for a salad is quite steep, so be prepared to pay more! Our food took a very long time to arrive and we waited close to 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Service was okay too, and our table wasnt attended for 10 minutes after we sat down, so yes, it was a very long lunch!2 stars just for the salad which was really good!
Had their Pappardelle al Ragu di Manzo and it was delicious and filling! I like their bread’s crispy edges too.
Great restaurant and experience.Tucked inside Eataly, visiting this restaurant gives you a good excuse to walk around the market. All dishes are very tasty, everything we tried is well worth ordering again. The appetizers are all good, plus a good selection of wine. The cuts of meat and pastas are delicious, can’t go wrong with this place.
The negative reviews we read before (especially about being rushed out) were worrying but we went for the tasting menu with wine pairings. It was wonderful. There were eight marvelous courses and each one was accompanied by a great Italian wine. The waiters were fine but the somelier was particularly helpful and nice. Not cheap, but this was worth every penny.
Absolutely fantastic! The Wagyu Denver steak is moderately sized (8oz) and was cooked perfectly, with excellent crust and pink medium rare interior. Extremely tasty even though this is not a highly marbled cut. Went very well with the Filari Lunghi Dolcetta dAlba that the waitress suggested. Topped off with excellent desserts. The sizes here are reasonable so you can have a very nice meal and not feel totally stuffed.Lastly the noise level is quiet! No overbearing music, and because the location is a huge Italian themed store, the restaurant is not reverberating with noise. Favorite restaurant in the Flatiron district.Overall reasonably priced for the quality. A great choice for a splurge and you wont be disappointed.
Delicious truffle cheese and scrumptious rib eye. Bread is a bit dry and balsamic vinegar wasnt served with it. Mains were delicious though. Yum!
Have been here several times but tonight while we were finishing our bottle of wine we were asked to move to another table. We spent $ on truffles and a good bottle of wine but we were rushed out. In total we were there less than 1.30 hours. Restaurant said they would buy us a drink. We salid we were fine and we would Be done in a few minutes. However still felt rushed and won’t return.
Not bad, but not great. Given the pricey menu you expect better. Menu is limited and portions small. While server was wonderful, hosts gave our large group (missing one diner), a difficult time despite those present ordering and having the last reservation of the evening.
Wanted to sit down and eat with some friends here. We were in the mood to share a bunch of appetizers and we’re discussing this in front of the hostess stand. The hostess overheard us incidentally and told us rudely that she would not seat us unless we ordered an entree. We asked her how that could be the case that we couldn’t get items on the menu that suited us. We were in the mood for appetizers and she told us to walk away. Unsure if this is a real rule- seemed very coincidental that she overheard us and didn’t want us to order entrees. Do the hostesses ask what meal every customer is getting before they sit down? We “walked away” as we were told, but then came back to ask again. The hostess refused to seat us. Would love to know whether this rule exists, how it is administered, and why. Seems like if it does, there should be a sign somewhere. Also the hostess is horribly rude regardless of whether the rule exists- would have gone a lot smoother if she informed us nicely.
The food was great and the service decent. I had the 20oz aged ribeye and although it was very good it didnt leave me with any feeling that the cost made it much if any better from a nice non-aged ribeye somewhere else. The potatoes were crunchy and tasty although possibly on the salty side. One thing that I would go back for was a ball of mozzarella (or similar) cheese with olive oil, salt and pepper that was provided compliments of the chef. Im not even sure if its on the menu, but if its not it should be.
What an amazing place to stop at while visiting New York! The staff was so kind, outgoing and polite. Gave great recommendations on wine, seafood and the bread with oil is TO DIE FOR! YUM! We had a bottle of the red Sangiovese, I recommend it 100%!!
Skip this place - actually skip Eataly all together. Is the food good? Absolutely. Started w/ the porchetta, my wife the meatballs. The meatballs were a decent value and close to what I can make at home. Sauce need to cook longer w meat. The porchetta can be eaten in 4 forkfulls - portions are INSULTINGLY small.Ordered the hangar steak. Received piece of meat the size of a deck of cards. Ate all in 6 bites. Very good steak, really terrible value.Cocktails. $14 negroni - SERVED in a GLASS THATS 1/2 FULL.After dinner grappa. Very watered down, if that was full strength it would have been over poured.Wait staff was polite but at these prices when its not busy at 6pm, clear the table before u put down a desert menu and serve coffee.Thats the other thing, at these price points go eat in regular restaurant not in the middle of a market. Finding your way to the restroom is annoying with a million people around. And the market - who buys this over priced stuff? Wont go here again. I think this place caters to locals & tourists w/ $$ who dont know any better.
The food is really good, but a bit pricey if you consider that you should go for the full course meal to be satisfied. However, this is NYC, so you shouldnt expect less. The service is really great and all the food we has tasted really good.
For their week menu deal was great , Dolcetto wine was great , food(Chicken , pasta with wild boar , Carne cruda and the squash !) and service great by both bartender/server, bus boy bar back and the food runner . And the Cioccolato dessert great !
It had everything to be a great meal: great selection of meat and pasta, fantastic options for wine but the big let down is the service. Staff seemed actually annoyed there were people trying to get served and frankly for a 50 min wait I expect my medium steak to be just perfect and oh boy, it was far from that.... Avoid!
Manzo is improving. After reading initial reviews of Manzo, I was uncertain whether or not to try it. Then after dining there, I might suggest GOING (the food is hitting a high mark this holiday season) with a few caveats.1. Dont reserve, and go on a weeknight, and sit at the bar. 2. Expect it to be noisy.3. Expect really good meat.
Used to be a favorite from the time Eataly opened. Based on current service and experience we will not come back. Food is great, but it is so far from the overall quality of what it should be....They need to train their team and give them flexibility, everything was a no. Really disappointing.
The pappardelle was marvelous! In a delicate, meat flavored sauce. The meat was really a flavoring to enhance the perfect fresh-made pasta. It’s not a meat dish, it’s a pasta dish. As such, oh, so tasty! Loved it!
The sole white-tablecloth option within the Batali-Bastianich teams Flatiron foodie mecca, Eataly, this carnivore heaven presents a delizioso beef-centric Italian menu that also features wonderful fresh pastas; being located in a bustling, noisy market is not the sexiest, and you pay for the privilege – but to most its worth every hard-earned penny.
Great food and good portions. Location is a bit hard to find as you have to go inside Eataly.
Great service - small - get there early - it gets really packed - all the entrees are delicious
The market concept is great. Good casual ambience, regular food and service. Too noisy.
Second time here. Waited 30 minutes for my cow cow cow and was not worth the $42 at all. Would not come back
The food here is amazing... Italian food that will make you think you are in Italy
Decent portions of very good food with knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Great service, lively atmosphere, and great seafood and meat dishes
Great beef, nice sides, but feels a bit like eating in a food court.
Great, great food. This is a place for connaisseurs!Enjoy!
Great place for lunch with fresh pasta and good wine. Best place for truffle lovers! The menu has a large selection of items, so there is something for everyone. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We told him we had a limited amount of time, and he made sure we were able to keep our schedule.
Excellent service and food. A place with everything for every taste
Manager William was amazing. We had a problem with the salad and the waitress and he addressed this immediately and gave us complimentary desert drinks. Thanks so much. Great service and food.!
Great atmosphere, food,awesome service.
For a place advertising itself as high end and with prices to match, Im disappointed.I had a 5pm reservation and checked in at 4:50. I was told to wait - and I was seated promptly at 5, but nearly every table in the restaurant was unoccupied. Why did I have to wait in the busy marketplace instead of being seated early??3 people thought they were our waiter. Most of them were friendly and personable, but only 1 didnt seem harried - again, confusing because the restaurant is near empty. They were out of 3 entrees and regular cola, and didnt tell us about the cola until 10 mins after my husband ordered it.The food was decent but not worth the prices theyre charging, at all. You can do much better.
Fine dining at Eataly. Reservations are mandatory and sometimes difficult to get. But well worthwhile. We highly recommend it. As we have eaten there several times and thoroughly enjoyed it each time.
Way overpriced for a bowl on second rate pasta. Mozzarella was good. Server had a hard time understanding English.
Amazing food, great service, comfortable & relaxing ambiance. Ribeye was one of the best Ive had!
My wife and I ate here for lunch. It was a very good restaurant with a great atmosphere. I ate the pork shoulder and pasta. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Qualityfood, small portion little be over priced.
Had two spectacular lunches here. Wine list paired perfectly with the food. A couple of the pastas were literally transcendental.
Only had a stout beer, made inhouse only. Best stout Ive ever had! And Ive had alot of stouts!
This is only part of the whole Italian market known as Eataly. The food is always delicious
Food was good, very small portions, expensive, rude waiters, seated on the end of the bar in kids chairs. Very disappointing. 👎👎👎
Good food but not good treatment of the waitres
Aperol Affumicato looks fancy for making it but it tastes bitter & nothing is special ; however, half roast duck & ribeye (20oz) are awesome. The steak is so tender, juicy & flavored. It’s just melting in your mouth. The duck is fresh, juicy, tender & flavorful too. Make sure you try these 2 dishes. It’s not too expensive compared with other restaurants in Manhattan
I can not say enough good things about my dining experience at Monzo in Eataly. The location at 23rd street and 5th ave was convenient. The ambiance was great. Service was impeccable. Drinks intoxicatingly delicious. The food cooked to perfection (steak ). I am sharing with my friends my experience and recommending they visit this establishment.
Had the 6 course summer tasting menu with wine pairing and some of the papardelle bolognese (spicy...a surprise. but good) - pricey but well worth it - service friendly and accommodating (as it should be!) - the bread is lame, but does not interfere when used to wipe up every last drop of the sublime flavors left on the plates..Go! Enjoy!
First time to Eataly; didnt know what to expect. Manzo was a little away from the noise and chaos. Good menu, good food, but very small portions. Price was just ok...if the portions were a bit larger, perfect pricing. No sides on the dishes....
This place is a joke. The portions were ridiculous. The cheese plate had 4 bites of cheese on it. Spend your money ANYWHERE else.
This is the Manzo restaurant located inside Eataly. The ambiance is nice and romantic. Its great for a date or a night out with friends. The room is very dimly lit. We were greeted promptly by the waitstaff and were promptly seated.Service was great. Our waiter was very friendly and answered a lot of my questions about Italian food.We ordered some appetizers and separate entrees. One dish we had was thinly sliced beef with arugula and cheese. The combination was quite delicious. There was a faint sauce (or perhaps just salt) on the whole dish and I liked the taste of it very much. For my entree, I took a gamble on this paparadelle pasta with mushroom and butter sauce. I hate mushrooms and thought these specially foraged trumpet mushrooms would change my view on mushrooms. Sadly, it didnt, but the rest of the dish was very good. The noodles tasted fresh and were oh so thin. The butter sauce was very flavorful and salted perfectly. I just left behind this pile of black mushrooms on my plate, but I ate everything else.We got dessert and loved it. I got the chocolato to share with a dear friend and it was on point. The chocolate ganache cake was really dense. It paired well with the hazelnut ice cream. The bread and olive oil were really delicious as well. Once you have high quality olive oil, its really difficult to go back to the low grade oil. I kept on wanting to eat this bread and oil combination.
Ive been to Manzo a number of times (always with a reservation before hand), and Ive always enjoyed it. The menu always has a great selection that borrows from the many shops around the eataly market. Typically the entrees are where they really shine and show the deliciousness of the Italian cuisine.I never manage to stay for dessert though as the nocciola from the nearby gelatari is way too tempting to resist.
Food is OK but small portions and overpriced. Good service
Super amazing food. Very expensive, but very high-end.
Food reasonable.staff not coherint food arrived very disorganised.45 min wait, withat least 10 tables vacant!!!!omg this was amataure!and our senseofrr humur!!embarassing4 u!!
It was a Tuesday night in Eataly. A friend and I were starving, and a little drunk. Every other restaurant was packed out. With 30 minutes until the end of the night cutoff, what did we do? Check Manzo. This place seems to get overlooked a lot, partly due to the price and partly because its segregated from the rest of Eataly. Turns out that Manzo had 5-6 tables available and was able to seat us almost immediately. I actually expected it to be nicer in there. There is a little wood paneling, some white tablecloths, a little dimmer lighting, but otherwise you have the same warehouse-ey ceiling. They should take a cue from the Arthur Ave retail market and hang some paintings on the beams or something. Our server was great, and I dont normally say that about servers. She was pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. Clearly, Eataly saves its best for Manzo, and this is mostly the case with the food too.I got a glass of Baladin Nora, which is an Italian beer which the brewer named for his wife. Its one of the top ranked spiced ales in the world, and it lived up to the hype. It was also versatile, and paired with both of my courses as well as I hoped it would. The foie gras and oxtail agnolotti with broccoli rabe I got for my first course was ridiculous. If youre up for a dish that is incredibly rich, inventive, and worth the high prices, this is it. The fattiness of the goose live and the oxtail meld together perfect, with a very light cream sauce and small pieces of bitter broccoli rabe to give some variety. By far the best dish Ive ever had at a Batali restaurant. My friend got the gnocchi with spicy tomato sauce, which was good but not all that remarkable. For my main, I got a veal special that came medium rare with sweetbreads and corn. The veal was perfectly cooked with a charred outside, but wasnt quite as flavorful as it couldve been. It was a high quality cut, but it didnt blow me away. There were only 3 sweetbreads but they were very tasty, and they went well with the corn. This dish was good, but it was more the speed that Im used to with Batali: a high quality dish that is a bit small and pricey. If price isnt a concern, then Manzo would be my choice every time for Eataly. I dont get many dishes a year that are as good as that agnolotti. It may sicken me a bit for Batalis pompous, croc-wearing self to make the cut, but this meal will probably go down as one of my best of the year. Then again, Manzo earned it, as everything from start to finish was great. I will be back to try some other second courses next time I have the financial flexibility.
Service fantastic and prime rib superb !
Nice and beautiful place, with a good food.
Food is absolutely delicious.
Amazing Italian restaurant!!
Was very disappointed. Too hyped up.
I love their pasta!!
Very Good service and food,
Good food well presented
Fine service. Fine food
Great!
Bad and expensive.
Amazing food
Excellent!
It is in a privileged place, but it really was not good, although well attended and they spoke to us in Spanish, but the food was not good
Everything perfect!! A slow-roasted prime rib and superior wines by the glass (they use Coravin, and they have great wines!). I will always come back!! 👏🏻👏🏻
Good food but very noisy and the kids are in a hurry for you to finish dinner
Beautiful place, superior wines, quality...Excellent to eat, drink and enjoy!
Wonderful for a lunch stop!Lots of food items, gourmets love them!!!
Slow and unfriendly service. New York is expensive as a general rule, but in this case bad service and small dishes are added to the price. It must improve.
The burrata with pesto was very delicious but the price seemed high to me.
Good but not exceptional and overpriced for a tiny portion
Perfect tasting menu
