One of the coziest spots in NYC and Upper Manhattan! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with absolutely delicious food and some of the best Jazz live music events in the city. Their wine, mochas, and mimosas are fantastic, but my personal favorites are the Adjarian khachapuri and the Georgian salad. A must-visit for a memorable experience! The best personnel and the owners btw 🩷
Located in the “college town” of West Harlem where Columbia University calls home, this coffee/wine cafe with an amazing small tapas menu loaded with traditional Georgian fare (as in the country South of Russia and South West of Ukraine…not the STATE of Georgia) like Khachapuri and Khunkali. Their wine selection is all organic and beyond good!!!! The vibe is pillows, patio chairs, mosaics, sofas, and cool music. I love this place. I can’t wait to try their mimosas and quiche that’s served during the day!!
Whenever Im in Morningside Heights, Sipsteria is my favorite spot. Whether its for a quick coffee break or a relaxing glass of wine, this place never disappoints. The cozy vibe and friendly staff make it feel like home. Their wine selection is amazing, and the food is delicious. Sipsteria is my little escape in the city🏙️
Cycling loops around Cental Park and happened upon Sipsteria by chance. As I walk through the doors, I feel positive energy electrifying the room. This energy can be summed up as eloquence & intellect from the students of Columbia intermingling. My Americano was a delight to drink. The apple turnover was a nice 👍 treat. Decent selection of pastries and sandwiches.Did not get the pleasure of partaking in the wine. Definitely do so on a return visit.Service with a smile 😊 and a charming bathroom. What more can a cyclist ask for?Hmmmm…. Perhaps a bike rack? 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
The neighborhood gem
What a fantastic gem in the neighborhood! Sipsteria Espresso and Wine Bar has become my go-to spot. I absolutely love their organic wine list, especially the Stori Kisi. Their selection of cheese and charcuterie is excellent. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for both wine and coffee enthusiasts!
Im always on the hunt for a chill spot to grab a coffee near work, and Sipsteria totally nails it. This place, right by Columbia University, is now my top choice for a lunch break hangout. The vibe is super inviting and relaxed. Plus, their signature Sipsteria Latte is an absolute game-changer—my new fave coffee to get through the workday. If youre after a laid-back place with great coffee, Sipsteria is where its at.
I went to Sipsteria for the first time on a blind date simply because it was nearby. I loved the cozy atmosphere and relaxed vibe so much that you can now find me there almost every day. Things didnt work out with the girl, but thanks to her, I discovered my new favorite spot for good wine and delicious dishes🍷☕️😊
The best place i’ve visited so far in nyc!! Definitely must order avocado and shrimp salad, Xinkali and atcharuli… It is a cozy and welcoming spot, perfect for a relaxing meal. With a wide range of wines and helpful staff to guide you, its a dining experience that you wont want to miss, whether youre a local or just visiting!
Weve come by for coffee in the morning and for wine in the evening. The atmosphere is always cozy and inviting; theres both indoor and outdoor seating. The wine menu is organic and natural, with a few standout Georgian (the country, not the state!) bottles. Their sandwiches and khachapuri are excellent.
I’ve been hoping for a natural wine bar to open in the neighborhood, so when I saw that Sipsteria opened I was excited. Not only was this place a natural wine bar, but it was my favorite sort - Georgian. They offer wine from all the top regions and tapas that feel a bit more universal, but the real reward is for those who love Georgian wine and food. It will not disappoint. The khinkali beef and pork was phenomenal!
This place is my coffee shop away from home. Every time Im on campus from Chicago you will find me here. The flavors are fresh and scrumptious. Its always a great experience! See you there.
Excellent service and atmosphere. Great coffee and music. Must-try muffins (blueberry financier). One of our go-to spots in the area.
Gio was an amazing waiter ! He gave us the in-depth history of Georgian wine and food, and made my husband and I feel extremely welcome! The food and wine were incredible, we will be back again!
Very nice and cozy place to enjoy your evening with friends. This place has the most friendly staff and management that cares about customers and their satisfaction, I would especially thank waiter J K for his recommendations. Food was delicious especially Gebzalia 👌
I really love this place and its atmosphere. It always has a welcoming feel. Staff is kind and helpful. I always go there while in New York for morning coffee and croissants, and ooooh also that amazing quiche Lorraine. Evenings they have wine and tapas bar and the food was soooooo good. Its a very nice experience.highly recommended
Given this place tons of chances because it’s conveniently located for me. Have had too many strange, borderline rude and unfriendly interactions to justify spending money here anymore. Food and coffee are just okay.
I recently had the pleasure of using Sipsteria, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I started, I was impressed with their service.About their team: Every interaction I had was smooth, and I truly appreciate the attention to detail.Overall, I would highly recommend Sipsteria to anyone looking for a pleasent environment. It has not only met but surpassed my expectations, and I look forward to continuing to use it in the future.
Really love this cafe! Its a similar cost to other cafes around here, but waaay better coffee and ambience! And they have tea! ☺️
Great energy, not too loud or quiet. Plenty of benches, chairs and tables for seating, as well as outlets! The coffee is excellent.
Top place in Harlem ! Almond cake is the best !
Fantastically crisp and buttery croissants, pleasant to sit outside, friendly service.Coffee a bit too green for my preference.
My favorite neighborhood coffee and wine place! Exquisite coffee in the morning and surprisingly delightful organic natural Georgian wine in the evening, paired with a selection of fine dishes. My go to place!
Since this place opened it has been a haven. I love being able to come in early before work and start my day with good coffee, good music, and excellent service. The baristas care about the people who come in and are truly concerned with making this environment one that is warm and inclusive. Love this place!
Lovely spot to grab a coffee, snack or glass of wine. The vibe is immaculate. Walking distance to Columbia campus.
Sipsteria has become my go-to spot in the neighborhood. They have an excellent selection of wines - my favorite is Pissador from Chile, and of course, the special food selections from Georgia. I absolutely love the Adjaruli Khachapuri, and the Chakapuli, their green lamb stew with tarragon, is the best! The service is always attentive, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It’s truly a neighborhood gem - not just for locals! There aren’t many natural wine bars uptown, and Sipsteria stands out as something special.
Beyond good! Staff is SO nice, vibe is chill to work/read/lounge. The food is SO GOOD, and so reasonably priced. Drinks are also fab, but Im mostly a tea drinker which... cant really go wrong there lol. But their selection is top tier. LOVE this spot, check it out!
The best oat milk cappuccino I’ve had in a while ❤️
Interesting Natural Wine list and great food, Loved their Adjaruli Khachapuri. Welcoming service and great atmosphere! Will come back for sure!
This place is quality. Been here several times, each time getting something different and it’s always been top notch. From their quiche, pastries, sandwiches to coffee and tee (try their iced yuzu peach green tea! Great flavor, could be a bit more concentrated, but best I’ve had). Prices are super reasonable, you can tell they use quality fresh ingredients.
Excellent food and beverages. Friendly staff and inviting atmosphere. This has become my to go place when I need to work remotely during the day, or meet friends over coffee/wine. Kudos!
Sipsteria has quickly become my favorite spot in the neighborhood. Their special Georgian menu is outstanding, especially the Adjaruli Khachapuri and the beef and pork Georgian-style dumplings. The quality never disappoints, and their selection of organic and natural wines is impressive—Suriel is my top pick. Highly recommend!
I’m visiting area with friend and found this great wine bar. Sipsteria has a great selection of wine from around the world, food was amazing as well Salmon Tartar was my favorite. Service and overall atmosphere is great. Highly recommend visiting and have nice evening with delicious wine .
Amazing food and super cozy atmosphere. Absolutely enjoyed it. Be back often
Clean, cozy, beautifully decorated. The soy latte was excellent!
Such a lovely addition to the neighborhood! Great ambience and service. We stopped in for early dinner and were able to try a few delicious Georgian wines. The server was so charming, and he was very helpful with recommendations and interesting tidbits about Georgian wine and cuisine. Food highlights: the eggplant rolls and the lamb dumplings. I can’t wait to return to try their coffee/pastries and to swing through on a jazz night!
A wonderful assortment of wines. Those who love wine should taste it.Thanks to Sipsteria for such a wide range of wines. I will visit you temporarily🫶🏽🥂🙏
Ive been a regular client of Sipsteria Espresso and Wine Bar since it opened, and I have never been disappointed. They have the best coffee blend, and my favorite is the Sipsteria Latte and pistachio almond croissant. Now, they have added hours from 5:30 to 11:00 pm and serve organic and natural wines along with tapas, cheese, and charcuterie. My favorite is the salmon tartare and Stori Amber wine from Georgia. They have a wide selection of wines from France, Italy, Chile, Georgia, Portugal, the Czech Republic, and more. Its a must-try place!
My new favorite place for coffee, I loveed coffee so much I had to get a bag for my mum,( she is a coffee snob ) she liked it so much she already asked me to get her more. Staff is very friendly, atmosphere is cozy, I tried pesto sandwich and chocolate croissant, it was delicious. Looking forward trying their wine. This neighborhood needed place like this ❤️
Ive been a regular at Sipsteria since they opened, and their coffee blend has become my favorite. I especially love their Cortado with oat milk and almond croissant. Now, they also operate as an organic and natural wine bar from 5:30 to 11 pm, offering affordable happy hours that I adore. Be sure to try the open-faced tartine and the Pissador from Chile. Im excited for the upcoming jazz live event and hope it becomes a regular feature. Thank you, Sipsteria, for bringing new soul to the neighborhood with your excellent service and friendly staff. The decor is beautiful and welcoming.
Such a wonderful place, the coffee, food, and vibes are just perfect! We come here all the time for a cofffee or for work.So happy this place opened in our neighborhood!!!
I came in here with a bunch of girlfriends for dessert and tea. The waiter kept pushing us to order alcohol, when we told him we wanted tea and dessert, he said his coffee machine shuts down at 9 (it was 9:10). We said that was no problem, we’ll have the tea! The owner then came out and said he doesn’t usually do that, which is strange as this is an espresso bar and is on their menu, it’s also literally just boiling some water. He then said that as an exception he’ll do it because we are a “very demanding” client. This is extremely rude considering we are a paying client and he is not doing us a favor. When we got up to find somewhere else to leave, he “thanked us” with the most smug attitude. The hospitality is non existent and I’m very surprised he has a functioning business at all.
Imagine perfect coffee, just the right tunes and a cozy interior - IN ONE PLACE!Ive been to NYC for 10 days and spent every morning here to focus and work – they open at 7am and besides their perfect coffee its just nice to be greeted with a smile EVERY time you enter.I really appreciate you girls and guys!See you soon ;)
The vibe is it honey! Amazing people, amazing atmosphere, amazing food. გიორგი 💖
Great atmosphere, perfect service, food was amazing!
Great place for coffee, and a perfect place to go for drinks in the evening. The atmosphere is classy, but casual. Exactly what we needed in the neighbourhood!
Please doublecheck with the owner before bringing your dog. Its a cozy & lovely space that we might revisit, without a dog.The frontpage photo on Googlemap (uploaded by owner) portrays a big, cute, and fluffy dog sitting inside, suggesting its a dog-friendly place. Actually, it is NOT. Youll find the actual policy is dog allowed outside rather than what the their photos suggest. We left after inquiry despite mine is a certified service dog.The owner stated afterwards its case by case, if your dog is small enough then he/she will be permitted indoor seating regardless of service/support dog certificate. If youre not confident that your dog is small enough, check with them before visiting.
Great natural wine selections and delicious Georgian food
Go-to place not only for my morning coffee but also for hanging out with friends! Hands down the coziest environment, super delicious coffee, pastries, sandwiches and so much more!
I live around the corner from this cafe and I was really looking forward to it opening. There is no normal coffee shop in our area. I am already a regular guest of this cafe. before the children go to school, I buy fresh croissants with ham for them and very tasty sweets and macaron. For myself, I always take their amazing coffee from Colombia and Ethiopian. They make a delicious and amazing latte with oat milk and I always take a fresh quiche for myself. I always go there with my dog, they are very pet-friendly. They even have a special water bowl for dogs. The atmosphere is very pleasant and cozy with a very good and attentive service.
Yeah…..this was one of my favorite places to grab dinner and drinks, but seems they are too greedy to show proper service. They kicked me out of 2 people table during jazz night because I was alone. Mind you I am a regular and they were not even buzy. Owners: I dont it sucks, but it is part of cost of business to have sometimes people alone dining in. Be a good host and leave them alone. Guess I need to find now another place to go. DO NOT recommend
Perfect place to work remotely, catch up with a friend or enjoy a cup of coffee by yourself.Coffee and the pastries are delicious and the staff is super friendly.
Words are not enough to describe this place. Excellent coffee, amazing Georgian food and a wide selection of great wines. Most importantly though an amazing friendly and hospitable team which creates a unique atmosphere. Highly recommended!!!
Since Sipsteria opened, Ive been a regular visitor, and I must say, their coffee and baked goods are unparalleled in the neighborhood. The Cappuccino and Lemon Cake are personal favorites of mine. Recently, theyve expanded their offerings to include organic and natural wines from 5:30 to 11 pm, complemented by a fantastic tapas menu and an extensive selection of cheese and charcuterie. The Salmon Tartar was a highlight for me. Im looking forward to returning in the evening for another experience.
I recently visited Sipsteria Espresso and Wine Bar and was impressed by its delicious coffee and pastries. The short waiting time in line, coupled with a nice atmosphere adorned with intricate design details, made the experience delightful. Cant wait to see their organic and natural wine list and Tapas Menu.Highly recommend it!
I always had struggle finding a good spot in the neighborhood but say no more. I loved everything about Sipsteria! This will be definitely my to go spot. Their coffee is one of a kind, their blend is so smooth and so delicious. I have tried Vegetarian Caprese on Olive Ciabatta and it was delicious! and those baked goods- OMG so delicious! The place is well thought and love everything about it! Service is amazing! Can not wait to come back!
Great calm evening vibe, tasty food, and both servers that helped us were super friendly and gave great advice.
Best coffee I’ve had in NYC. Got a flat white with almond milk. Also had the blueberry gluten free muffin… absolutely delightful. Will be a regular :)
Good place to enjoy an expresso in a cozy atmosphere! ☕
Good coffee, good cookies, good space, good music but not too loud that you cant have a conversation, good art to look at and the most courteous owners!
Great food, fantastic atmosphere. Best uptown wine bar!
**Watch them ring you up carefully: this coffee shop is dishonest about pricing.**I ordered a cappuccino to stay and they rang me up. I asked why it was $1+ more than the posted price. They said that they can only do large cappuccinos to stay because they dont have small ceramic cups. So, the guy said, they charged me for a large. Mind you, the prices on the wall dont mention different sizes--apparently the posted prices are only for small sizes. There are no prices posted for large sizes anywhere, or any indication that the prices are higher for staying in versus to go. And I only discovered this because I asked--not because the cashier was being transparent. They offered no receipt.I went back and forth with the barista, saying this was a super misleading practice, and couldnt he see that it felt a little scammy to charge people more than the listed prices with no explanation? It was like talking to a brick wall. The worst part was that the cappuccino sucked--apparently what made it large was just adding more milk. So it was a latte. This is no way to treat customers. I will never go back and have told friends to avoid, too. RIP Max Caffe.Edit: If all the prices are indeed posted clearly on the wall that is a change since I was there, which would be good. But saying that ‘the price shows up on the screen’ is not the same as posting them clearly—that info flashes by quickly and someone should know how much the item costs before ringing up. I do hope you have made these improvements.
No laptops at an empty “wine bar” next to Columbia University on a Wednesday night? No problem. See ya later (or never).
A cozy tiny bar. Happy hour drinks are not worth it unfortunately ( it’s served with a tiny glass and mimosa is basically just orange juice ) Food is good.
Gio is awesome!!! This place is great. Awesome service, the wine is amazing! The vibe is sooo good!
Delicious food and amazing wine list 😍great chill music and wonderful service.
Coffee shop during the day and wine bar at night, smart way to use the place. The decor and ambiance is so welcoming and chic you never want to leave the place (not good for the business). Coffee is really good, served in beautiful mugs (thats from the coffee snob). Pastries look appetizing, I just dont eat them and no idea how good they are. Music is great and they have live jazz playing few times a month (follow on insta). I love the idea of turning the coffee shop into a wine bar at night, when you can sip a good glass of wine, nibble on cheese and have a nice date (depending on your partner).
Sipsteria Coffee Cafe is a true gem! From the moment you step in, the cozy ambiance and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee envelop you. The baristas are not only skilled but also incredibly friendly, ensuring each cup is crafted to perfection. Their menu boasts a delightful range of coffees and teas, complemented by scrumptious pastries and light bites. The attention to detail in both service and quality makes Sipsteria a standout spot. Whether youre here to work, catch up with friends, or simply relax, Sipsteria Coffee Cafe is the perfect place to savor a great cup of coffee. Highly recommend!
Has good Georgian food
Chic atmosphere, delicious food and WINE!
Sipsteria is a hidden gem that offers an exceptional coffee experience. From the moment you step inside, the cozy and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home. The baristas are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, ensuring every cup is brewed to perfection. The menu offers a wide variety of unique and delicious coffee options, each crafted with high-quality beans. Their pastries and snacks are equally delightful, complementing the coffee perfectly. Sipsteria truly stands out as a top-notch cafe that exceeds all expectations. Highly recommended!
Fresh pastries 🙂
One of the best addition to the neighborhood! almond croissant is to die for! Will be back
I have been to Sipsteria more times than I can possibly count in the short time they’ve been open, and every visit has been truly wonderful. The staff and owners are so kind, and always warm and welcoming. The food and beverages are delicious and the vibe is the right balance of chill and energizing - I can study here, but also just sit and enjoy the music. It becomes a wine bar at 5:30pm!!!! So you get the best of both worlds.I have been coming here almost every day since they opened, and I have noticed that the owners and staff are always so present - they actively pay attention to their customers’ experiences and strive for those experiences to be the best, and they are! I’ve seen people smile and exhale as they enter Sipsteria, and that is BEFORE they’ve even had their morning coffee!!! Welcome to the neighborhood, Sipsteria! We hope you never leave!!! :)
Perfect food, nice place
My favorite place for coffee and work, the staff is really nice. They have free wifi and best coffee around !
Beautiful and cozy place, coffee and food is delicious.
I totally love this place. It has excellent coffee and treats in the morning. Sopa is my favorite barista. In the evening its a great place to chill with a glass of wine or more.Highly recommend!
Beautiful place , nice decor, delicious coffee , definitely coming back !
Beautiful and cozy atmosphere ❤️great service, delicious wine and brownie with ice cream 👌highly recommended ❤️
A new cozy place that will make you fall in love. Great coffee, chill atmosphere, fresh food. Design is tasteful and pays homage to modern plus vintage. A great spot to catch up with friends, set up business meetings or go solo and work from your laptop. Definitely a new favorite. Oh, by the way, unlike other coffee places, Sipsteria is open till 7:00 pm! Highly recommend.
I was really excited to come here, but when I arrived solo, I did not feel welcomed. I shook it off and ordered a wine. I love the disco music they were playing so I was I good spirits. My waiter offered me water and asked if I had any questions, then took my order. I got the wine I asked for. I noticed the servers were chatting with everyone, asking them about their orders and about how they like the wines. My husband showed up, no one greeted him, no one asked him if he wanted anything and we literally watched all the servers to see if anyone would ask him if he wanted anything. There were literally 4 people in here, not including us, and 3 servers. We waited 20 min and we finally decided to leave bc it was evident no one wanted to help us. I own a business in the neighborhood so I was trying to support, but if you open a business in HARLEM then please make everyone feel welcome, not just the people that look like you. Still tipped 20% even thought I didnt have a nice experience.
Love this place! My morning always begins here - thanks for an excellent service! ❤️🤩✨
Great food, good coffee, and best of all awesome staff. I love this place!
Very nice spot to enjoy with friends!
This is not your European-style wine bar that you can quietly chill, and server seems to have no mood to be pleasant.A quiet weekday night, there was just another table. When I came in, there were low ambience music playing, so I sat down and ordered a drink and snack. Shortly after I took out a book to read, the music was changed to blast. I asked the server, he said he cannot tune down the music because its a wine bar! I pointed out it was way quieter before, he told me heve changed the mode. After five more minutes of blasting, I paid the check and left. -1 star for the (music) taste and -1 for a limited menu.
Very thoughtful organic and natural wine list, nice atmosphere, friendly stuff and excellent service.
I’ve been here about 15 times, the coffee and food are always very good although this place is more expensive than most. I really wish they took a dollar off the prices across the board, they’re living in 2026 right now. Plowshares down the street offers probably the highest craftsmanship of coffee in the area and they roast their own coffee on the premises…Sipsteria is more expensive than them. A lot of great things to say though. This place just added outdoor seating which is adorable and nicer than any other coffee shop in the area, it’s going to set it apart with the weather getting nicer.COFFEE: I don’t really understand why or how a latte is being sold for $6.90, it’s a dollar above the top I’ve seen in the area or even downtown in way more expensive parts of town. But it’s good quality and you can tell it’s done with love and care. $5.90 is fair, not $6.90. The taste is great, they don’t really get the fine milk foam or presentation needed for these prices. It’s too simple but again, the coffee tastes great.FOOD: This is also what sets this place apart. Many kinds of pastries and ones you don’t find at other coffee shops in the area, although I haven’t tried a lot of them. The financiers, both vanilla and blueberry, are very good but a bit doughier, more sugary than any I’ve eaten but there was something nice about that. The quiche has great taste, very buttery, the crust is a bit soft on the bottom and all 4 times I’ve gotten it, it’s only been warm 80% through but was embarrassed or too short on time to ask them to warm it more. Again, this quiche is almost 10 dollars…I don’t really know why or how it’s this expensive. You do taste the quality though! I’d buy it more often for 8 dollars.SERVICE: Always great. Super nice people and never had issues. No table service for food like any coffee shop.ATMOSPHERE: It feels like a living room with great lighting and plants, tables and chairs are like you’re in a cute living room. Very clean, it gets crowded but never loud because of people studying.I’ve lived in the area for 10 years and there’s been too many establishments in and out of this location. It finally feels like Sipsteria has hit the right spot for Columbia students and locals to have very good coffee and pastries close to campus. I really wish they took a dollar off the prices across the board but I think they’re getting enough student traffic where parents are footing the bills that they won’t need to take them down. Locals though…idk.
Good coffee. Made a special trip to meet someone here.
WiFi is quite spotty, chairs and seating are uncomfortably designed so youre going to want to sit for only like ten minutes.Rude staff... ahem, too many great options available to support rude businesses.Left a tip, attempted to work. New York service. Yuck, thanks Google Reviews, going next door.
Loved the vibe! Coffee is delicious and service is very friendly! Very comfortable to work in.I’ll come back soon! 🩵
Absolute gem in the neighborhood! Delicious baked goods, and super tasty coffee. My favorite is almond croissant, buttery, very flaky, with gooey almond paste. I highly recommend!
Amazing coffee and desserts! Keep it up!
The best coffee in the city! Very chill place with a great selection of delicious pastries and as already mentioned, exceptional coffee blend. Love it and definitely going back asap.
Warm atmosphere, delicious wines and tapas and great service! So glad to have this newly opened neighborhood gem!
Super cozy, lovely atmosphere, delicious food and excellet wine selection. Highly recommended for a friends night out.
Very delicious food and coffee. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The best spot in the neighborhood
The rudest employees I’ve ever encountered in my life. I came in to do work, bought a hot tea and took out a small salad of my own. The staff scolded me and said, “Have you ever seen a cafe that allows you to eat your own food”! I said, but I purchased a beverage and they basically kicked me out. The most disgusting service and customer service I’ve ever encountered in my life. This place is atrocious, the way they treated me was like a dog. Inhumane. Don’t ever step foot into this place!!
Absolutely adorable place with delicious wines and charcuterie! I can’t wait to come back
Decent coffee, polite staff, cozy atmosphere. Recommend it 👌
Loveliest staff and the best coffee☕️✨👌🏻🥰
Cosiest place to work, free wifi, cool staff and coffee is delocious!

Best environment and best service, everyone is happy
Great atmosphere, delicious hot chocolate and best service.
Great coffee and vibes - exactly what the neighborhood was missing!
Sweet place for espresso in the morning and wine later
Great matcha latte!
Bad service. Small pours. Inflated wine.
Horrible customer service
Such lovely atmosphere!
Fantastic place
We went for the happy hour had JK as our server. He is the best server Ive had in NYC in recent memory. The restaurant is cozy with delicious food ad the wines selection was good. Will definitely come back again!
