Man, how happy was I to having found this place. I have been so tired of all the rubber like buns that they sell all over the US.One of the best pizzas I ever ate, the dough was great and crispy not too pricey, beer was cheap. The cook was from Spain so we had a nice chat. What do you want more?
Delicious slices ($7/each) and friendly service in a beautiful pizzeria with a clean bathroom and lots of lovely details. I had the mushroom and pepperoni slice, and I loved it.
Great pizza by the slice or made to order made by friendly people. We carried out a made to order veggie pie that started as a ball of dough and was out the door in about 10 minutes. Beer and wine available. Plenty of seating if you want to eat in. Great job!
Wow..what a great place. Food was delish and pizza just as you expect from a NYC pizza place. Margarita slice was delicious and the Uncle Pauls salad was great. Highly recommend this place for something to eat!
This SMALL pizza joint on Vanderbilt in NYC is a little gem! A bunch of different choices for pizza, both toppings and crust alike. You make your choices and pay them and stand there until they call your order. Eat in or take out. Tables may be hard to come by if it’s during lunch or dinner time. Delicious pizza! One hundred percent authentic New York pizza. Not overly clean, but cleanish inside. Great NYC food and experience!
Small place not far from Grand Central. Good written menu of pizzas, but the actual pizzas in the hot cabinet had no labels to tell you what they were, so it was a bit of guess work as to what you were picking out. Nice slices though.
We had platters (eggplant, pasta) and they were not only good but very large. (We could have split one and been satisfied ...) Prices are quite reasonable especially for Midtown. (A bottle of beer was $5.) Service was pleasant. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food.
Great place for a slice of NY Style Pizza, walking distance from Grand Central Station. They also have bottled beer and wine by the glass and the employees were a lot of fun! I had the meatball pizza and my hubby had pepperoni, both were great!
I’ve given this place three chances and I’m not ordering from here ever again. The pizza is fine, but the service is generally inhospitable and my experiences have been so poor1) the first time I ordered online, they just completely forgot my order. The order printed from the printer and fell straight on the floor. I had to wait 40 minutes for them to bring me the food I ordered 24 hours in advance specifically because I needed it at that time.2) the second time, we ordered a separate gluten-free personal pizza for a co-worker with Celiac. it was absolutely not gluten-free, and she ended up having a horrible reaction.3) today, the third time, one of the three pizzas we ordered was not cut into slices! I have literally never had this happen at any other pizza place before. we had no way to cut the pizza at the meeting we brought it to - it was such a disappointment.I don’t know how a place can make mistakes like this so consistently - maybe we’re just that unlucky, but our company will not be giving them business ever again.
Stopped in for a slice of pizza on a Wednesday evening in mid May. Very tasty slice. Cost a bit over $4 for this slice of cheese pizza. Wasn’t too busy inside on my visit so was served quickly. Staff was friendly enough. Convenient location near Grand Central. I would happily revisit this place to try their pizza again.
Pizza tastes good. 2nd time ordering here. They have happy hour from 3-7pm for $5 draft beer. They need to have a tie for the pizza boxes for orders 2 or more coz I ended up carrying 3 boxes by my self. They just give it to you not concerned about how are you gonna carry it.
Crispy, loaded pizza (the veggie full of freshness, best I ever had). Staff is authentic and super pleasant. Ambience is low key, but clean and decent. Price value is superb. We will be back!
Pizza was delicious!! First slice of NYC pizza, and it was good. Price was reasonable and the service and atmosphere were great too! Definitely need to try it.UPDATE: After tasting many slices in NYC, I must say this is the best by far!!!
Really good pizza, affordable and the staff was absolutely amazing
Good hot fast pizza just the way you want it. Owner was friendly too, wings were winging, oh so good. I don’t eat pork but no problem with beef alternatives as well as chicken. Stromboli’s and all good stuff.
Fantastic new York style pizza!! We orderd a Margherita pizza slice and a pepperoni pizza slice, both slices were delicious and had the satisfactory crunch one would expect. We also ordered a chicken calzone, it was very tasty and massive. We also ordered some hot chicken wings and they were massive, delicious, crunchy, and tasty. The staff are very friendly and well mannered. The bathroom is one of the cleanest is NYC! I will come back again.
There are not many good options for NY cheese slice close to the NY attractions for the tourists. Uncle Paul’s is located in the right place. Pizza at Uncle Paul’s is just the way I imagined NY pizza to be. It was the best. The employees are really friendly. It is one of the reasonably priced pizza joints that is ideal to grab a quick pizza before or after a visit to the summit - Vanderbilt
Nothing traditional, but very exceptional! The white pizza was pretty good, but the lasagna pizza was dynamite! Best slice I’ve ever had!
Yummy thin crust flavourful pizza in a low key atmosphere. It wasn’t crowded, surprisingly ! We tried 2 and I’d recommend giving the unusual ones a try… would eat here again!
Pizza was good, but service sucked. No one else there, tried to ignore us at first. Grumpily served us two slices. At first I thought the man was mute or delayed. But when two other Caucasian customers came in behind us he brightly greeted them like a different person. Basically come here if you are a POC. Otherwise NYC has tonnes of other pizza places.
Stopped in here for a slice of vegetarian pizza. In terms of the pizza itself, it tasted good. However I didn’t find the service all that friendly.I was the only customer in there, and I felt like I was really being a nuisance to the guy working there asking what the different toppings were. Every time I asked what topping was on a specific pizza he rolled his eyes and seemed annoyed. If it’s that annoying, top tip, stick a label next to each pizza, it would save theirs customers asking what pizzas they were.Personally, it feels very dark in there too, could also do with some more light.
We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a slice and a beer. (My wife had an Uncle Paul, so we liked the name.) The friendly woman behind the counter rang up our slices and drinks and asked for my ID. It happened to be my birthday. The staff surprised me with a piece of cake and a birthday song. That simple act of kindness made my day. Great pizza and even greater staff. Thank you so much. Will come in and see you again soon.
Really appalled at this place. In an area where traffic and customers are no problem whatsoever they are charging $4.00 for a slice of plain cheese pizza? Sorry what? I can get a whole sandwich for $6.50 lol! I actually told them that I walked by 3 0.99 cents slice places and they accosted me for even bringing it up.On top of the insane price gauging and bullying you not to talk about it the place is filthy and dark. Not all of us work at the big banks that surround your location. Huge disappointment
Tried some of their penne vodka slices and they did not disappoint. The place was busy but the service was still quick.
Absolutely ace pizza, we had a variety and great quality all around. Would recommend, around $5 a slice.
The pizza here is excellent and rivals the best we have had on previous trips to Italy. Who would have thought that lobster and corn pizza would taste so good? We also tried both salads and desserts here, which were equally as delicious. Service was excellent too and the atmosphere is very cosy and friendly. All good!
The pizza was fresh and absolutely fantastic! Service was so friendly and welcoming as we entered to the restaurant. Great place to eat!
Was craving pizza and discovered Uncle Paul’s.. food was good but not the best. Service was fast. I wouldn’t recommend to go out your way to try it.
Great New York style pizza. Came here for a quick dinner slice and was impressed by the taste, the quality and the customer service. Definitely recommend Uncle Paul’s!
Coming from out of town, I had to have some NY pizza and this place didn’t disappoint! Fabulous pizza and chicken roll. Will come back again!
Awesome pizza with very good gluten free options. I liked it a lot and the price was absolutely fine.
This was a great little Italian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and, during our second visit in a week, they recognized us and engaged in conversation. The pizzas were New York style, but a bit more artisan. The meat balls were amazing, and a very good sized portion as well! We highly recommend!
Great Sicilian pizza. A bit pricier than other places but well worth it. Good service. Clean.
Very nice and crispy pizza! Fast service:)
This pizza is the best we have had since arriving in New York! Would definitely eat here again. Love the soft vibe atmosphere also! Love that they have a gluten free option for my daughter!
Cute place. Very popular. Enjoyed the pizza. Very tasty crust. Our waitress was a joy.
Awesome yummy pizza. Friendly team. They also have gluten free pizza options, attached photo
Great place to grab a few slices and walk around. Lots of options. Would have liked to try a slice of each pie they had out but in the interest of time and my waist...
Midtown pizza crawl 2024This is one of those places where you never know if you are getting a good slice or not. Very inconsistent. Its ground zero for the migrant crisis. They get processed and housed right next door, so the ambiance in this area has definitely changed. People are always hanging out right outside, and you have to deal with the strong smell of weed. As far as the regular slice, I feel like its too doughy. Its not terrible if you tell them to make it well done
The pizza is an A +. We had an unexpected Memorial Day pizza experience with our three year old thanks to kind welcoming Uncle Paul’s employees. Thank you for being so much fun and taking the time to let our son experience making a true NY pizza!
Stopped here for a pizza before my travels back home. Great atmosphere pleasant staff and delicious pizza
Such delicious and warm pizza ever. We love coming here every time we are in nyc! The location is so perfect too, conveniently located by grand central station!
Delicious food and cold beer. Nice staff. Recommend.
Had the calebreze with pepperoni. Gr8 nighttime crowd with a lots of cops stopping in for pick up. So if you go there you will either feel extremely safe or paranoid- either way you will leave satisfied because the pie is awesome. The bathroom was also pretty cool too
I usually visit Uncle Paul’s whenever I am visiting NY and staying near Grand Central. Although there is seating inside, getting takeout is a better option here. They offer pizza by the slice or whole pies as well as other traditional items. Their Stromboli are pretty good as well.
Best pizza hands down!!!! You will not regret it. This spaghetti was made for the baby. Omg I wish I could bring it back to Texas!!!!
A hidden gem! This place has really good slices of pizza at affordable prices. Also has a bathroom.
Great for a quick slice.
I gave a 4 star rating 4 years ago, and the food is still constantly good!
Delicious food & friendly staff in a very clean establishment! Customer service A++
Awesome NY pizza place, can order by slice. Great flavor, hot, large slices. Good prices.
I ordered a full pizza with meatballs, extra cheese, and mushrooms. It was absolutely amazing. Exceeded my expectations.
I wanted to write this review to let any future guest at this establishment know that this was indeed one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had and over all one of the best services I received in my visit to New York. Me and my family were looking for some dinner when we found this place and I honestly wish we had something like this place near where we live. Especially because of our waiter Zelka, she was very attentive, sweet and funny, she made our night even better. I 100% recommend this place and can’t wait to go back some day.
Ask my kids ~ BEST pizza ever!!! They would have eaten here every night!!! The asked to door dash from Uncle Paul when we got back to Florida!! 😜🤣
Great midtown pizza joint. Crust is delicious and crunchy without being too try, sauce is pretty great too. Overall a great pizzeria but could use more flavour
Well, what can I said……. Everything was great. Amazing flavor (specially the Prosciutto di parma) and great price. But the service (from the blonde hair girl) was excellent and beyond
Good food for a quick meal. 10 tables to sit. Most take out. Beer and wine available.
Just a regular old pizza joint, however, some of the best pizza Ive ever eaten in New York City.Hustle bustle is very high. Lots of people coming out with to go orders. The best vegetarian pizza Ive ever eat in my life
Bruschetta was full of flavor. Pizza was also very tasty. Can order at the counter or sit and be served. Service was a bit slow with the busy lunch time
Wonderful experience. Great service, reasonable prices, and nice atmosphere. The prosciutto and caprese pizzas were phenomenal.
The Sicilian slice isnt quite fat enough for my liking BUT the sauce is just... *moans*. Lasagna slice was hefty but not overloaded. Wife is gluten free and says this is one of the best GF pies shes had - I have to say it was pretty good.Prices are fair and the folks are nice. Would recommend.
Our first authentic NY Pizza. They were amazing!
Super good NY style pizza. We had slices of BBQ chicken, Chipotle chicken and a more traditional cheese and red sauce piece (might have been Grandmas). All 3 were great and so different! Small very casual place.
Nice pizzas, tasty stuff. Small place next to Grand Central👌🏽
Best Pizzas, I have checked a lot of them.
Really good pizza and good prices!
Friendly neighborhood pizza joint. Good atmosphere and good food.
My favorite pizza in the city. I love their regular crust and Sicilian slices. The service is great and it is a nice laid back atmosphere. I’ll always go out of my way to get Uncle Paul’s, even when there are tons of other pizza places to choose from. It’s that good! I love the regular cheese slice but it’s always fun to try something new as well.
Their pizza is the best weve ever put in our mouths. We make a point to come here every time we come to NYC. You wont be disappointed; their pizza is loaded with toppings, and the crust is not too thick, its just right. With each bite, you want more and more. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a great selection of wine.
The pizza was mediocre but it was late and we were hungry. The workers werent exactly friendly but it is NY.
I bought three different pizzas. Base of pizza is soft and tasty and good texture. I like those.
Phenomenal pizza!! Service was great too, had a fantastic waiter. Staff and food were great, never in any rush, overall fantastic experience. Would recommend to anyone visiting or living in NYC!
Loved it, staff were so nice and friendly. Food was fast and real NY style pizza. Highly recommend it, when you are walking around and hungry to grab a quick bite.
I stopped here for 2 slices of pizza and a glass of wine! The guys were super friendly!! Got a great deal for my order, had the lasagna pizza 👍 👌 but OMG the vegetable pizzas was AMAZING! Couldnt take pics because my phone battery was dead and actually they offered to charge my phone behind the counter. I will definitely return, to try more of their slices!!. Thanks ragazzi!!!
First new York pizza did not disappoint. The staff were the best. Next time I come to NYC, Ill be back for more.
Right outside of Grand Central Station across from Met Life Building. Small Pizzeria with outside seating. Had a sausage slice & a sausage & pepperoni slice. Both were really good. Crust was burnt which I like. They have bottle beers & can beers & wine. Sign says $5 drafts, but there draft taps had no heads on them so I didn’t ask. Staff was friendly. Better option for pizza rather then inside Grand Central. Sausage slice & 1 Peroni beer was $11. They also make pasta dishes, hero’s, Pannis, Salads, Rolls & Stromboli’s, Chicken dinners & a few appetizers.
Ordered delivery of ~10 pizza pies (veggie, chicken, white, mushrooms, etc) 2 days in a row. Excellent pizza, delivered on right time both times. Smooth and simple order process through their web site. Everyone here loved the pizza. I will definitely use them again.
I eat a lot of pizza and this has to be the best Ive tasted in quite some time.
Really enjoyed the buffalo chicken pizza but also tried the grandmas sicilian and it was quite bland.
Amazing pizza! All from classics to new tastes were amazing! There is a seating areas as well.
What an experience, pizza was incredible and the staff was amazing! Such a great spot if you need a slice or a whole pie! Check out Uncle Paul’s! Let them give you a recommendation, you won’t be disappointed!
This was a recommendation from a TX associate and boy are we glad we went. Best Lasagne and Chicken Lemone, Great Pizza. Best partway the wonderful atmosphere and staff. Best meal while in NYC.
I wrote an earlier review in April but I need to join in with those reviewers who mentioned the friendly staff. The staff is AMAZING just like their pizza. We went yesterday and my sister got the Buffalo wings and we ordered a large pizza (half sausage/half pepperoni). Damn. Once again they did not disappoint. This is REAL NY pizza. They know precisely what they are doing. My sister loved the wings as well. We were initially turned on to this spot my our older brother who is a picky eater. He is an amazing cook who only cooks with fresh ingredients. He too loves this spot. My husband loves pizza and last night he said between bites, they make the best pizza. When you find a pizza that doesnt need any condiments ie garlic, crushed pepper or oregano, etc you know youve found a gem. We have pizza shops by us that we would order from because we love to support our community, but we actually drive to get this pizza. Its that good. PS We are true blue New Yaw-kers😎.
We tried many different places around town for the best pizza 🍕. This place had the best tasting pizza. The customer service was excellent. The staff members are excellent and the ambiance had this classic Italian feel to it. Hands down 5 stars. Not greasy and full of flavor. We bought a slice of pepperoni and came back for a while cheese to go. Yummy yummy in our tummy 🤤😋
The hosts are amazing and the food was delicious! Definitely would recommend it if you are looking for a cozy place with good food and amazing prices!
The pizza was fantastic I loved the laid back casual atmosphere
This is The Best Pizza Ive ever had!!!! The restaurant is cosey and very clean. The pizza is life changing!! I cant untill i can get back to NY to buy another pie!!!!
I just wanted to have a good time with my family but the service was absolutely terrible. The cashier (young lady with a bun) and the person giving us the pizza (young blond hair guy) were racist and mean to my Hispanic family for no absolute reason and gave attitude anytime we would ask for something simple. This is unacceptable and something everyone should be cautious about when coming here.
The buffalo chicken pizza was mouth watering! I also like how tech savvy this establishment is, they use touch screen/iPad for menus :)
Huge tasty pizza, more than enough for 4 of us. So nice, we came back the next night for another to take back to the hotel. Great customer service. We ordered plain margherita 🍕 pizza.
Amazing pizza and even better service! Our server Zelka (I hope I got that right!) went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. She had fantastic recommendations and brought me a new glass of wine (totally unprompted) just because she said she thought I wasn’t crazy about the first glass. She was right but I was fine and wouldn’t have said anything otherwise. She was also so sweet to my 9 year old. We have had some very fancy meals in NYC this week but this service experience blew the rest out of the water. We will be back!
Great place to get a slice!Nice indoor and outdoor seating, the pizza is delicious
Some of the best pizza Ive had in NYC. Lasagna pizza and Buffalo Chicken pizza were great. Ive tried Buff pizza in a dozen places with high hopes that never get fulfilled. This one was exactly what I think it should taste like. And while I generally dont like thin crust, this was good because it wasnt crispy like a cracker. Good chew. Great flavors.Recommended!
This pizza wasnt bad. Its better than most in the area. Will return again if ever in the area. IMO, its better than Joes Pizza.
Wonderful pizza with multiple drink options.Eat in seating or outdoors too
Great little pizza 🍕 place right by Grand Central Station. Popped in for a couple of slices before heading to the airport and was absolutely floored by how good this pizza was! The crust was amazing! This is now my go to whenever Im mid town.
Great pizza spot! Highly recommend trying the white spinach slice and/or the plain margarita slice. Nice atmosphere as well and outdoor seating for good weather. Would definitely visit again!
So good, the workers were kind and the atmosphere felt quite nice. The crust was a perfect combination of chewy and tough. The taste felt like a dramatic orchestra playing on my tastebuds. The orchestra would make my tastebuds cry from how tasty it was. The pizza was so good.
After a long day in Manhattan ended up near Grand Central Station.Uncle Pauls was close by.Wanted Italian food.Best choice we could have made. Very small but comfortable place.Reasonable prices and nice selection of traditional dishes for a pizza place.Lasagna was very good. Pizza was very good by the slice.Would go back again. Service was fast and friendly.
Really good pasta, cooked perfectly and fresh made sauce!!! Staff is great helping us with suggestions and answering our questions prompt.
Small restaurant with an amazing waitress. She was so nice and helpful. The rest of the staff should be more like her or at least tend to the customers. The pizza was delicious and the wings were good too. We will be going back when were back in the area.
Food was better then expected for a small place, was a little crowded after a bit when i arrived due to late night dinner rush, but otherwise good.Waitress was amazing! 👍❗ She went out of her way to talk and make sure we were having a good time and even supported my girlfriend when she wasnt feeling better by checking in more often and offering a water and a ginger ale so shed hopefully feel better!
Great pizza selections with nice seating options and friendly service. The one thing that was annoying, is that they have so many drink options that when I went to pick two different ones, I was told they only had what was in the back fridge (which I could hardly see) so I had to ask what the cashier had in the back fridge before I could choose a drink. Other than that, the pizza was a little bit greasy but delicious!
After wandering around like inept tourists looking for a different pizza place for 20 minutes because our phones couldnt figure out where we were, we decided to stop here instead. We were not disappointed, great pizza, fast service and the staff was very nice and accommodating
This is another definite return! Portion sizes were more than reasonable!! Food was tasty, service was great and prices reasonable. We went here on Christmas…it had continuous crowds for easy take away or dining in. Cannolis were as wonderful as those in Sicily and better than those from multiple places in Rome.
Hidden gem about a block from Grand Central Station. My pepperoni pizza was fantastic! My wife and daughters had the Margarita pizza and said it was the best they had ever had. I had a cannoli for dessert and it was fresh stuffed. The staff was friendly and service was great.Loved this place.
This was the perfect spot to take a break from a long day walking in NY. I’m so happy we stumbled upon this pizza shop. The inside is so cute with a nice sitting area to get off your feet. The pizza was great and I even tried the Buffalo chicken pizza, which from a Buffalonian, it was perfect! They even sell beer and wine if you’re in the mood for a drink. I highly recommend Uncle Paul’s if you’re in the area!
I always come here when visiting NY.The staff is mildly friendly but the pizza is BOMB.The atmosphere is giving 80’s under-lit onyx
Tasty pizza, nice atmosphere, good service.
Really really good pizza. Best we had while in NYC. Wish we had found them sooner in our trip. We would have been back. Look forward to visiting on our next trip. Met a family from Chicago also eating there, and they said it was the best pizza theyd ever had.
This place has THE BEST pizza we have ever had, and we are from New Haven, Connecticut, where the pizza is awesome. We were impressed. The staff was so friendly.
Pauls pizza is the best tasting pizza in NYC without question. The slices have the perfect combination of crunch and chew. The cheese is cheesalicious. The staff are filled with smiles and great conversation.
Awesome friendly service. Great pizza. It doesnt get much better ? 👍🥰
Dimly lit old school spot on Vanderbilt Avenue near Grand Central. Grandma slice is $4.08 with tax . Pretty tasty and they have wine and beer too . On 46th and Vanderbilt. Nice if youre going to Grand Central station.
Place slaps. Best thin crust, awesome service. Also very close to grand central. Would recommend!
I thought this place was alright. The service is what really made my experience not very enjoyable. The server had some serious attitude. She made us feel pressured to order things we didnt want. The food came out pretty fast. The pepperoni pizza was great but the other slice (I forget what it was called. It had chicken and bacon on it) tasted a little old, like it was sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Then it took a while for a bill and to pay. Just not a very pleasant experience. I will not go back there.
Been here twice in 4 days for lunch. Excellent pizza, had lasagna and white pie. Very good. Add a glass of Italian wine and perfect quick, cheap lunch. Busy place. Very close to Grand Central Station.
Popped in here on a rainy night and the place was packed. Ordered a few different pizza slices and overall were impressed. The grandmas and Neapolitan were our favourites. The Sicilian pizza wasnt bad. We also ordered a Caesar salad which was tasty, but had too much dressing for my liking. The rice balls were quite nice and cheesy, but not the best we had. Cosy place with okay service!
Ordered through GrubHub. Pizza came cold but that could have been the drivers fault. The pizzas themselves were underwhelming in flavor and taste, also very greasy. Even though the regular slice was cold, it was burnt on one side. The Buffalo slice isn’t special either. Doubt I’d order from here again based on the quality.
Really nice pizza and friendly staff. We ordered 3 pizzas which arrived quickly and some wings which were also nice. Lovely atmosphere and I would recommend them. Good value especially considering their location.
This place is amazing. We stopped here late night after the US Open. It really is true...all the good things they say about New York pizza. You buy this pizza by the slice. They had a variety of HOT pies to choose from. I had a slice of lasagna pizza. It had crumbly sausage and ricotta cheese. The mix of flavors really did make it taste like lasagna on pizza. It was so good!
It’s a very nice and affordable place. The pizza is delicious and they have many different options on the menu. Besides being delicious, the pizza is really really big.
Great staff, great pizza, great wine, all smiles. Go there now..
Tried to place an order through GrubHub, asked for it an hour later. The time for the delivery came and went and I contacted the restaurant to ask where it was. I was told that they were too busy to deliver and had rejected the order. They never contacted me to let me know. Not sure how their food is, because now I will never have it. Definitely do not recommend their service.
Im so happy that we came here. This place is very small and we came during the lunch rush. Although it was busy, the staff moved quickly and efficiently. The food is reasonably priced and it is really good. They offer pizza, pasta, and more but I opted for the pepperoni pizza. This was probably the best slice of pizza I have had in a very long time! Only regret: not getting more pizza!
Get some New York pizza! Im not a New Yorker. We was there for our anniversary. I do know good food and decent service. I was very happy with the dining experience there. My wife was impressed that the menu was on a tablet. I was impressed by the quality of the pizza. It was tasty! We had Gelato for desert. Much happiness! A place to revisit.
Food is delicious, service is fast, nice place to eat in, but tables are too small
Average Pizza, Friendly service. They are famous for their Mariana sauce ... but Im not sure what the hype really is about this place. They have a good selection of pizzas but nothing out of the ordinary.Located by the Roosevelt hotel and walking distance from Grand Central station.
Great pizza!I had slices of the cheese and chicken pizza; not sure if its normal or if its because we showed up at 12:30 but they heated pre-made slices up for us; it still tasted pretty good. Thin crust, cheesy cheese, chicken was good.We ordered and had made the duck pizza. This was excellent; small enough so I could fold the slice and eat it without dropping too much into the plate, and the flavor was excellent. Im used to just ordering from pizza hut so even the heated spices impressed me, but the duck one was something else.I definitely recommend ordering a whole pizza rather than getting slices, but the slices werent bad either. The place closes late too so out-of-town west coast tourists have somewhere to eat.The staff was really nice and helpful as well.
Incredible pizza. Margherita is best. Plus the fettuccine Alfredo is to die for. Dont Forget pasta with meatballs, and the caesar salad is Incredible. The service is amazing. One of my favorite pizza places in New York.
Yes, they do have gluten free pizza but no, its not made in a separate area from the regular ones. So if you are celiac this is not the right place for you. Dont credit previous reviews regarding this matter.By yhe way, they have been very kind and honest in responding to my requests and the smell inside the place was delicious! So I would definitely try it if I could! :)
A simple turkey and provolone sub. Only thing I requested was extra mayo. I got none. Dry af. But the bread is good and the tomatoes I could eat by themselves.
The BEST pizza in New York City, hands down. You have to try the buffalo chicken pizza - it will blow your mind. We had a group of 7 and we were able to sit down right away, grab some beers and order food. Sammy was AMAZING and the staff was exceptionally friendly, plus the food came out fast and hot! Seriously, if youre looking for somewhere local - with great food and no frills, this is it!
Super pizza! We loved this place and not only for the super nice pizza (try the on with pasta on top... I will miss it) but also for the super friendly staff speaking like 7 languages! Greetings from Turkey and Italy!!!
Very disappointed where uncle Pauls has gone. Pre covid I enjoyed many a slice from them but in the past year or two the quality of food has declined as has the service. I did a catering order from them and the food was blah and they couldnt even offer all the items on the catering menu. The service was awful, talking to the staff was like taking to a brick wall. Still I tried to give them another chance recently and ordered online through seamless to take advantage of a deal. They accepted my order 20 min after it was placed and then canceled it an hour later. Talking to Deon he flat out lied and told me they didnt accept the order which makes zero sense because how is a business going to survive if they dont accept orders. They should fire Deon or give him more training because not every customer is an idiot and we can see through the lies and laziness. I have a feeling my order wasnt big enough for them (3 slices and a strimbolloe so not a tiny order) and they just wanted to be lazy. Its shameful because it used to be a reliable place to get a slice, now its a place to get substandard food and be treated like trash.
Excellent service. The team of Albanian brothers were very kind, non pushy and accommodatingPizza was excellent and a great selection of toppings and priced wellWill be back on our next visit from your mates from New Zealand 🤙
Uncle Paul’s was a blind choice I made at the last minute since I was in the mood for pizza. Boy am I glad I did! The Uncle Paul’s salad was outstanding. Red roasted peppers and fresh mozzarella was fantastic. And the Buffalo Chicken Pizza was awesome! I would definitely recommend this place for any family.
Good pizza. I dont think its the best in NYC. But still worth going.
Uncle Pauls has GREAT Pizza. Located near my office, were often here for lunch and we have never been disappointed. Ive had many flavors of their slices along with Chicken rolls, Chicken parm sandwiches, etc. And if theyre not too busy, the guys will even make what you like, if they dont have it on the ready to serve counter. These guys really know how to make flavorful and delicious Italian fare.
No instructions to seating, sat down and waitress told us for slices we needed to order at counter. Went to counter and crew was overwhelmed but finally took our order. Pizza was good and hot seemed like fresh baked yet pull out of the case and heated. $20 for 2-8oz cokes and 3 slices. Next to Grand Central Station it was easy to get too. If service was a little better I would have given it 5 stars. I’ll try again.
New location just opened up to my girlfriends apartment on 13 st East village, was greeted with friendly service. When told they didn’t have credit card set up he gave me the slices for free. Great slices loved the sauce and flavor of the pizza.
Loved this place. Tucked away with the feel of eating with the locals. Great pizza. We had a large ($25) which we ended up giving two slices we couldn’t eat to the guys on the next table. Great service and warm environment away from the snow. Loved it. Typical NY pizza.
Quick stop after checking out Rockefeller Center, St. Patricks Cathedral, and Radio City. Needed a good New York slice. Stopped in for a slice of white, margherita, and a sicilian slice and a drink. It was the perfect lunch before heading over to Grand Central Terminal. Great dough and a hot slice for the afternoon pick-me-up.
The BEST f***ing pizza I have ever had in my life!!! It was a little tight as we had 10 in our group but the staff was awesome and we made do. Highly recommend the Buffalo chicken. Will definitely be back when we visit the city again.
I ordered a pizza from Uncle Pauls Pizza. It was almost 10 minutes late, so, therefore, it was cold. Whats worse is when the pizza arrived, the box was smashed in. When I opened the box, all of the cheese and sauce had run off the pizza, and pizza was stuck to the top of the box. Horrible. I called Uncle Pauls Pizza to tell them of the issue, and the person I spoke to was exceedingly rude and proceeded to tell me that its not his problem and refused to help me. That is the worst customer service I have encountered in ages, and it is completely unacceptable.
This is the dream when you think of authentic New York pizza, delicious. Plus the service is awesome and fun.
Very cool place. The pizza is very good and the price is fair. The staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. Especially Nella. She was so nice and sweet to our son that we have no words to thank her. We will definitely return next time we visit NYC.
Best NY pizza around. Just look at this beauty! Sammy is the best!
Awesome Pizza! I walked into the shop at 1:40 AM after checking into the Roosevelt Hotel. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. The man that took my order went over to the pizza dough and started to make my pizza from scratch! What a show! I walked out of Uncle Pauls a little before 2:00 AM with a hot pizza and cold drinks for the family. The crust was amazing and the toppings were fresh and tasty. We ended up going back to Uncle Pauls three more times during our 5 day visit. Great place, great staff, and great service!
I found this place first in 2015, and was instantly in love with their pizza, especially the prosciutto do Parma. I was a coming back customer until 2018. Years later something has changed. My husband and I visited this place and I was upset and disappointed beyond. First of all, they charged us 10 dollars more “by mistake”, my husband noticed that l. Then the prosciutto di Parma pizza which is all most 40$ comes with arugula, there was zero arugula and romaine lettuce instead. When I asked why there is no arugula, they said they were out and putting spring mix with “some” arugula in it. They also didn’t let us know, thus allowing to choose anything else. Tl;dr they can charge you more and serve you with something cheaper.Very very very disappointed. Whoever is running this place now is slacking, or their staff does.
One of the best places to grab a slice or pie in Midtown. The prices are competitive and comparable to the high-tourist area (i.e. overpriced) but the pizza tastes good and if you choose to stay and eat-in, the environment feels warm. My first time visiting, the owner came up to our table (just me and a friend) and said Hello.
The pizza here is really amazing, a definite must.Highly recommended. I ordered 11 pizzas for my companys event and everyone loved the food. They literally finished them in less than 30 minutes. Definitely will order again!!!
Delicious, great experience!
Excellent pizza, we tried the buffalo chicken and Margherita. We also had chicken wrap which was great. Staff was very hospitable and generous. Family friendly environment. Would definitely come up when in NYC
Love this place. Been to NYC five times and always stay the weekends around midtown. After exploring the city all day you get back to the hotel and are starving. On a Saturday night its hard to find a place thats not loaded with obnoxious tourists and needs a reservation. We were wandering around and noticed all different types, construction workers, police officers and regular people all coming in here and grabbing a quick slice. Sitting down the first time... And everytime since, the staff is great. All the meals we have had there are amazing and the place is cozy.. Great for a cold rainy New York night. The pizza... I dream about this pizza.... I cant find anything like it at home. It may be a bit off the main tourist drag... Like a little hidden gem tucked away in Midtown.
Amazing customer service. Great selection of Piazza.
This is one of the better pizzerias in the area. Prices are average for the area. The place is small, dark, but clean. Service can be hit or miss depending on the time of day and whether regulars are going through. The selection is good, but not great; you will never find a stale slice on display.
Solid late-night pizza joint with friendly staff. The Sicilian dough is particularly good, if youre looking for a change from the classic NY style slice. The salads dont shine as much as the pizza, but lets be honest, were you really looking for anything but pizza at 2am?
I truly love this place. If youre from New York, then you can appreciate such an amazing quality of service and food packed into a quaint storefront. Now, if youre not from NYC or a large city, than you may find the restaurant overwhelming. But the food is worth the long lines and rushed service. Theyre making about 30 slices per minute or two, so you dont have much time to think about what you want. I find everyone there to be nice and helpful, but the entire staff is extremely busy. Normal for New York, but if youre from out-of-town, dont let that sway your opinion. Uncle Pauls is busy for a reason.
So good! If youre not from the city just ask the workers for their favorite slices, you will NOT be disappointed! Also, the grandmas slice was excellent!!!
Pizza was ok, experience could of been better if the waiter actually took our order! She was focused that night on one table. We had to order everything at the cash register and then they would take to our tables….
*Racist Experience*I came into the restaurant for two slices. Literally was ignored while standing at the counter as they stood behind counting money. I asked them to take my order they looked at me annoyed took it but never greeted me. As I stood there 2 white families walked in and were immediately greeted cheerfully and asked if they needed seats etc. A girl came from the back and took their order long story short they got everything before me. I won’t be returning to this restaurant not only because the horrible service, but because the pizza is TRASH it tastes like $1 pizza 🤷🏾♀️
My cheese slice was smaller than I am used to but definitely tasted like an authentic NY slice.
The pizza was good but, for being an authentic Italian pizzeria... I make much better sauce than what was on my ziti... taught by great grandma from Sicily! The young girl that was serving NEEDS retraining! I finished all my pasta before I had to get up and ask the cook for my slice I never got!WONT be going back... EVER!
Tis a nice and cozy place with great fast service. All of the food was incredible and they even make gluten free pizza which Talia rated a 6 or 7 on her scale of gluten free pizza. This in comparison with the scale ranks 1 point higher then Dominos gluten free pizza. There is a large selection of snapple and wine as well as some soda options. I cant much touch on the quality of the wine, but I can confirm the snapple was exceptional. I recommend this place to anybody who likes good food, good mousse, and great pizza, gluten free or otherwise.
Delicious typical NYC pizza slice with a lot of seatings - comfortable and delicious, it was perfect for our lunch stop with 2 babies !
25.06.2018 Walking the streets at night can make you hungry. We had asked the guy at our hotels front desk (Jonathan) for a Good Pizza and he recommended Uncle Pauls. So off we went trying to find this place a few blocks from our hotel. Its a small joint off one of the main roads. Even though it was almost midnight it was busy and people kept coming in for Pizza. I had the Chicken and Bacon one with Chipotle Mayo, and my friend had the Grandma Pizza. Both were delicious - the base was thin and crispy and the flavour was yum. I only had one slice but it was more than enough.Service was very quick and friendly.#TheFoodMusketeerTravels#TFMTakesNewYork#TheFoodMusketeerEats#TheFoodMusketeer
My experience wasn’t anything pleasing. At least my pepperoni pizza was very poor. Dough not fully cooked, cheese slid off completely and a pool of oil and average tomato sauce. Not the best pizza I’ve eaten
This place is a joke! we ordered 4 pies, 3 order of calamari and 3 order of salads at 10AM for our meeting and told them to be delivered at 12:30.....I ended up picking the order up at 2PM! I had a room full of hungry people. Do not order from this place, there is an old guy, i guess he is the cook and he was so rude and unprofessional. This place is so not recommended. Service SUCKS!..keep telling us 10 minutes....10 minutes.....
Loved the pizza. It was delicious. Ordered many different slices and shared with the family. We liked the idea that closes late during the week. Parked across the street, no problem. Highly recommended
Cool little place!
Service is excellent. However, pizzas are comparable to those of $1.50 a slice. The portion size is small, and the cheese feels too processed. Tomato sauce tastes okay, but it could be improved. Crust was on point.
Delicious. Been in NY for 9 days and I visited this place twice. The environment is cozy and comfortable. The food is really good, I ordered the buschettas and the goat cheese pizza. I will definitely come back next time I visit NY.
A cozy pizza place in midtown NYC. The staff is friendly and the pizza is great. I had a slice of margarita and it was delicious.
Best Margareta Slices in the City. Best of all, open 24/7! Big menu if you want more than pizza. All this does come at a price; but what do you expect in the heart of the City? - Even on a strict diet its hard to resist this place.
The best pizza Ive ever eaten in New York. Hustle bustle, not the fanciest place to sit inside of
The sausage pizza was awesome! My friend had the buffalo chicken and said the chicken was super dry so maybe avoid that one.
Pizza was awesome!! We ordered a Tiramisu, it was ok, Ive have tried a lot better, but I will come back for more 🍕
They have the best spring mix salad Ive ever had, they serve it with nice roasted red bell peppers I think theyre marinated. I loved the salad. But the pizza was not good, the sauce was way oversalted.
A gem in the rough. Food was very good. Had the chipotle chicken and it was great. Crust was perfect, thin and crunchy. Staff is attentive and very nice. Limited drink options, but a good selection. Atmosphere changes with clientele but is up beat and jovial. Tv in dining area draws a good bit of attention especially late at night. If in the area, its worth stopping by. Delivery, pickup or togo are available as well.
Consistently good and open all the time. During the lunch rush theres a wait in line, but its generally worth it. Ive only had their slices, but having seen and smelled their other offerings, I can guess they are great too. A little pricey for a slice of pizza, but thats midtown for you.
Worst pizza / experience I ever had in any pizzeria, recently visited with my friend , we ordered 4 slices of pizza and 2 drinks. They served cold pizza and didn’t even bother to make it warm , when my friend ask to make it warm , they gave us looks as if we have asked something for free they didn’t even give receipts. May be famous pizza place but people should visit when they have plenty of time and patience to deal with bunch of rude college kids.
I ordered delivery (which was fast) and my pizza still arrived cold but that’s beside the point because even after heating it up; it was still terrible. Hands down worst buffalo chicken slice I ever had. No ranch or blue cheese drizzle on it and chicken was chewy plus buffalo sauce had no flavor. My pepperoni slice was burnt with no sauce on it. My grandma slice was as small as a poptart; had hardly no sauce, dry AF and cheese tasted horrible like it was out for the whole weekend. I am baffled by these good reviews on here. I tried to get a refund on grubhub but they wouldn’t give me one. Only got a $5 coupon for a future order. and don’t think grubhub is to blame because they delivered it quick. It was just old, cold lousy pizza. Maybe it would be more fresh if I went to the place and chose my slice. But Uncle Paul’s definitely gave me the weekend leftovers and now I won’t be back after that shadiness.
Best pizza Ive had in my life. The bottom is the perfect amount of crispy. I dream about it often, but live far, far away. :(
Found Uncle Pauls on Google and glad we did. They have a very good gluten-free crust. The service was very good - friendly and personable.
Service is rushed but food is flavorful and slices are big. Youre better off getting desserts somewhere else though. Same with drinks, they can be on the higher side of what a beer is actually worth. Think of this place as a hybrid between a dine in and take out restaurant.
Great NY style pizza experience. Did enjoy... shouldve gone for the slice, full pizza was more expensive for a single person.
Was looking for a NY style pizza but it wasnt what I remember as a NY pizza but still very good. It is like your looking for a fresh bake ginger cookie and end up with fresh bake chocolate chips cookie. Nothing wrong with Pauls pizza and service very nice.
Dont try to eat at Uncle Pauls while brown. In fact, dont even try to order, youll just be completely ignored for 20 minutes while white customers are served menus with a smile. These customers were served immediately, almost as soon as they entered. We were told a couple times by the cooks to wait for the waitress to approach us, but all she did was take some cheese from our table to give to another patron. Not even a greeting. As if we werent even there. We were a group of three: my sister, my boyfriend, and myself. We were respectful, we were quiet, we waited more patiently than most New Yorkers would have. And perhaps we should have been more direct and demanded service. But by the time we realized what was happening, we for sure didnt want to spend our money at a place that was desperately trying to get us to leave. Also, the bathroom had poorly cleaned up vomit spread all over the floor. Absolutely deplorable. Sticky, smelly, revolting.
Great staff, stopped by with my fiancé for a quick two slices before a music festival. Prices are great definitely worth the stop.
Pizza was awesome. Ordered the 18 for a family of 5 at lunchtime. First time visiting NYC. Actually went back for dinner the same day. its that good!! Liked the service and the cozy atmosphere.
The food is good is ok, not excellent just ok, but my complaint has nothing to do with the food its mostly the employees that are in front of the house who need to be replaced or trained to act in a professional manner. You see the cashiers playing around and the waiters attitude is just a no for me. They don’t really care to smile or clean the tables. Everyone is on their phone and in order to get their assistance you have to make them notice you. They don’t really go check on their tables and if they make a mistake in an order they don’t take the time to apologize this has happened numerous times when my coworkers have ordered food for delivery or to dine in.
I’ve ordered from just about every pizza restaurant around. This time I wanted to try something new. The pizza I got looked as if it was supposed to be a stage prop on the Texas chainsaw massacre. When I received delivery I simply called the restaurant. Someone answered(can’t remember his name because I was furious) and said oh that’s not our problem you have to call seamless. That’s not our delivery guys.... what kind of establishment is this?
Awesome NY city pizza very close to grand Central station
I’d be snobby enough to say I’m a pizza vet growing up around these parts and I was surprised I never tried this spot being as I’m always in and out of GCC. Very solid. Marg on point. I live abroad where NYC pizza is nonexistent and I grabbed this fresh off the taxi from the airport before MetroNorth to CT. Good call!
My son’s favorite spot in NYC. Fantastic pizza, good menu of grown up food and decent wine. Low key and great value, particularly for midtown where you don’t find many, if any, neighborhood spots.
Great taste, great crust!
Good pizza, little too greasy for me but it works. Good service as well.
Went to NYC recently, I ate at least one slice from Uncle Pauls Pizza every day I was there it was that good. Great service, great pizza. Next time im back in Manhattan I will definitely go back to get another slice.
