Vintage Harlem Wine & Spirits

I went for a bottle and asked for a recommendation. The staff didn’t know much so they weren’t helpful and didn’t pay me much mind, even though I was the only one in the store. The bottle I got was a decent tasting mid priced Porte only issue was the cord was basically dust. I’m happy to support a local business but the service and product was disappointing.

When I think of a small business in Harlem that has great wine selections Vintage Harlem comes to mind. Not only is the wine selection great but the customer service is even better. When making my wine selection I was given a tour and told about the different selections. I love supporting businesses that care about the community and Vintage Harlem cares about the community. I would definitely recommend them.

Extremely accommodating service and very friendly employees. Prices are good and the knowledge is very helpful in my shopping experience. Highly recommend this spot!

Love this place, have been coming for almost four years and always gotten a warm welcome and fantastic advice from the people who work here. Good selection of US and international wines at a range of price points and some lovely surprises in the wine of the week section (15% off). The owner, Enrique, is a mensch--delivery got us through some dark months during the lockdown--and the staff are lovely. Ive been meaning to write a glowing review for some time, but I was reminded last week when Dorian, Darling, and Jordan really came through for us in a pinch--thanks guys!

This place has an amazing Crew!!! The way how the welcome each Customer is very distinctive and highly professional at all time. I met the owner, he helped me to select a half case of differents wine (Rosé and White) for my brother housewarming, I got 10% off for the whole order. Love their recommendations.they have good prices and great deals. I will be back.

We love Vintage Harlem. we have a men-club and most of us been getting our remedies from there. Besides a huge selection of fine wines; the owner Enriquez, he is well knowledgeable in his product & i guess he has been sharing it with his crew it, cause I try to consult them when I am open for a new adventure . when they doesnt have what you looking for, theyll get it for you. Cute shop & great prices. We highly recommend.

Been twice now. First time, I got prosecco. Popped the top as soon as I got home only to discover it was completely flat 😳 Never seen that happen before... Called the store and they told me walk the 10 blocks back to get a different bottle/brand. Perfect time to upgrade a customer with a better bottle/brand or refund for their troubles - that didnt happen....Second time I went was an equal disaster. Everything there is overpriced - and I dont mind paying but NOT for subpar options. Plus the customer service is transactional at best - like bodega vibes but its a wine shop. Zero value in their recommendations.Spare yourself the disappointment by going to BTL Harlem or even 8th Ave Wines & Liquors - both have better options & better customer service. Cheers 🥂

Love this store!!!!!! I am a frequent and loyal customer. The staff is always so warm and welcoming and may I say always ready to help. They have such a great selection of wine and I always look forward to their monthly wine tastings. I always discover something new and its always so exciting!!!!

I am writing this in the hopes the owner, Enrique, read this. Since the pandemic I have been in your store several times but the last two visits, you have been extremely rude to me. The first was as I entered the store you said in a very nasty tone you have to apply hand sanitizer to which I replied I already did because I read your sign outside. I let this exchange go. The second time was this week when you were on your phone the ENTIRE time while I was in the store alone. You never asked me for help. Mind you, none of your customers want to hear your personal conversations. If you do need to be on a call at least acknowledge your customers. Once I was checking out when it was time for me to insert my credit card you abruptly pointed to the chip machine like I wasnt paying attention. Maybe you didnt recognize me because I had a mask on but I spend several hundreds of dollars in there a month. Do better. Theres a great wine shop just 4 blocks from you and they treat their customers with respect.

This is THE best wine store Ive been to in the city. The entire staff is quite knowledgeable about wine and many spirits. Which was convenient because I was in a pinch and needed a vodka recommendation for an infusion that I needed to do pronto.I never have to deal with snooty individuals who feel they are too good to explain a product to me. They have open my taste buds to the glory of red wines. I wasnt a fan before, but based on some conversations and looking over my existing wine profile Ive now become a fan of certain red wines due to staff recommendations.The weekly wine tastings help me learn about new products and just gives me a reason to pop into the store to see what is new. The labeling of wines is quite fantastic. Certain color stars can tell you if a wine is local, organic, etc.Overall, go, learn, and buy.

So I walk into my favorite wine store to buy a nice bottle of wine to enjoy With my husband and a tall white girl upfront was helping someone when i walked in which is fine but I did not get a hello !! no greeting at all !I was very upset because this was not the first time this happened ,,I have been a regular customer there never had a problem with any of the staff, , very disappointed this time! I never want to come in when this girl is working ! They need friendlier staff

Don’t shop here! People on Yelp are all complaining about the owner’s rude and condescending attitude! Not only was I treated poorly during my visit, but when I raised my concerns, I was accused of intentionally creating division. This is a blatant attempt to dismiss valid criticism and deflect accountability. Instead of offering an apology or acknowledging their disrespectful treatment, they doubled down, responding with even more coldness and condescension.The owner is arrogant, and i hate his condescending attitude. I made a purchase and I didnt even get a welcome or goodbye, however, he served white males obsequiously.I was ignored. I felt awkward. He was deadly cold and silent when he checked out for me, like hes energy died after providing warm-hearted service to that white man. And I am more than convinced that he is a racist after reading other reviews on yelp about the condescension they get from here.What else can I say? I just hate snobbish people. And you shouldnt shop here if you’re people of color and you hate condescending snobs!

This is my go to spot. They have many choices from affordable to expensive wine. Every visit is such a pleasure, they have a marvelous environment, plus the dynamic of the staff makes this shop unparalleled. Everyone working in there is very polite. I have had such great experiences there at Vintage Harlem, that I wouldnt even consider buying wine elsewhere.

Every single trip Ive taken to VHWS there has been a downright condescending and unpleasant gentleman present at the counter.After several unwelcome visits, my partner and I have thankfully brought our business over to BTL Harlem. MUCH better prices and incredibly friendly / knowledgeable employees.Save yourself the attitude and walk a few extra blocks North to BTL.

Rarely does one come across a wine store that isnt pretentious. There is no pressure and no judgment at Vintage Harlem. Staff will assist if you need it, but will also respect your desire to be left alone.

They have very good offers. A lot of variety and good treatment.

This shop has really fallen off. I used to walk in and the guys would always greet you, ask if you needed help- just good friendly customer service. Now the girl behind the counter doesnt look up from her phone when you walk in. A few weeks ago I asked if they had any Whispering Angel and she said, whats that? They literally have a magnum of it in the window (I didnt want a magnum) but this is an example of her lack of knowledge. Went in there yesterday and a lot of the shelves are empty, looks like theyre liquidating. If you want good selection and service in the neighborhood consider BTL or Harlem Wine Gallery instead.

Best wine shop in Harlem, I am glad I got to know this place is around my neighborhood. The owner is doing a wonderful job by choosing up a great selection. Big Amazing selection, friendly staff, highly recommended, full of knowledge. I suggest coming into the store if any questions ask to the staff(Jordan, Darling) the are all opened to help you with anything.

Small store with a somewhat limited selection, though theyve got the basics. The brands that dominate the stock clearly reflect the cheap stuff that moves. Will hopefully improve over time. Friendly staff.

I’ve been here a bunch of times for spirits. They’ve got all the usual stuff but also a bunch of unique things. Amaro brands I haven’t heard of, specialty tequilas and mezcal, liqueurs that are hard to find, they’ve even got pisco. Everyone who works here has been helpful and nice every time, I don’t shop anywhere else now.

Love my local wine store! Just got a bunch of bottles for my birthday and they were just the best!!! Hand sanitizer at the door, they will remind you of you forget to grab some - so you can actually touch the bottles like you would normally. Such great social distancing protocols and also the owner wears double masks! I mean just top notch care for the customers. The variety is also incredible. Thank you guys for being you! Love you!

I’ve been in here just a few times. The service is wonderful and the wine selection is great… I’ve asked for two recommendations from the staff and they have both been (without reaching for the most expensive bottle in the house) superb! Trusted service and surprising selection.

Beautiful store with a great selection. Every time I’ve stopped by the staff has been super friendly, helpful, and well educated about the wine. They also do tastings on certain days which I love. I’ll definitey be back.

I always feel a bit ripped off when I go here. The staff don’t know anything about wine and. Can’t offer any suggestions. “Do you want cheap or expensive ?” On the rare occasion I can get a bottle I like, they never have it again. That’s because they a deep discount bootleg operation.

I got 3 bottles of wine from here b/c they were having a good sale.... gave my friends and I diarrhea 😩😬... I called them to let them know they were selling bad product, they didn’t care and said they couldn’t do anything about it. Didn’t even offer any kind of apology let alone a discount...

It is so great to have a fancy wine store in Harlem. This store stepped up the wine game uptown when they opened because they bring amazing wines to the community. They have tastings from time to time so you can try some the selections before you buy. A gem of a store.

I’m an African-American male. I visited Vintage Harlem today - not my first time - to get a couple bottles of Sauvignon Blanc. As soon as I walked in, a young man behind the counter immediately asked in an unwelcome tone, “you know what you want”, no greeting. I responded, yes I do. I went to the cooler to get the wine I wanted and proceeded to the counter. As I was making my purchase, I heard the young man welcome a new customer - greeting him, “how are you sir”. It was a white male. I commented to the young man that he did not ask the new customer “you know what you want”. His response only verified that the greeting I received was based only being an African-American male. It’s shocking - but not really - that stores in Harlem today discriminate and do not appreciate customers of color. People of color should boycott this store - I know I will.
